The sky started to darken, mirroring my negative mood. I sighed, feeling fatigue slowly start to take over my body.

Turning my black car's driving wheel, I drove into the 'Crescent Hotel" parking lot. I sighed, stepping out of the car and opening the trunk.

I grabbed an outfit, and shoved it into a bag before grabbing my purse and locking the car up.

I glanced up at the balcony of a room, seeing a dark figure stare at me intensely. My eyes widened and I felt goosebumps form on my skin.

The night was dark and cold, forcing a shiver make its way up my spine. I crossed my arms over my chest, as I shivered in my white dress. I approached the hotel doors, and quickly made my way inside, protecting myself from the cold misty air that surrounded me.

I walked in, feeling a heavy amount of energy fall onto my shoulders. I frowned deeply, before spotting an adorable black cat seated on the couch. I walked up to it and pet its soft fur, feeling my heart become warm. A smile grew on my face as I temporarily forgot about the dark, sad and longing feeling that lingered in the air, before walking up to the front desk.

"Hi, can I get a room for one night, please?" I offered a kind smile to the lady seated behind the counter. She returned the smile, and handed me a room key. 'Room 201'

"You'll be staying at room 201. That'll be 130$." My eyes widened at the price, but I was desperate for sleep. I opened my purse and grabbed my wallet, pulling out 150$.

"Keep the change." I smiled, collecting my stuff before heading up the spiraled stairs.

I was walking down a hallway, when I heard a faint "Damn baby! Back it up on over here, if ya will." In an accent. I turned around, fear gripping onto my chest. There was nobody there. I was completely alone. I frowned deeply, before rushing back to the stairs.

It took me a while, but I finally made it to my hotel room. I sighed happily, despite the feeling of sadness surrounding me.

I noticed a brunette boy leaving hotel room 202 and I smiled kindly at him. He returned the smile, as my eyes wandered to the camera located in his left hand. I tilted my head and raised a brow a little bit.

"Oh. I'm sorry." He laughed. "I'm a youtuber. Me and my friends are recording a video."

I was still confused. "What's so special about this place?" I looked around. I acknowledged the negative and sad energy around me, but shrugged it off.

"You don't know?" He asked me curiously.

"Know what?" I was a lot more confused now.

"This hotel is haunted." My eyes widened. it makes sense now. The figure on the balcony and the sad energy around here. No wonder.

"That makes sense." I shrugged, rubbing my hands up and down my arms.

"Why? Did you see something?" He asked me, concern swirling behind his blue eyes.

"Yeah I saw a figure on a balcony, but i just thought it was a person. Though it was creepy enough to give me goosebumps. It also feels sad. And angry here. Like there some sort of longing feeling. I also got catcalled by something that wasn't there. " I explained, giggling a bit at the end.

"Do you mind if i record you explaining that? If not that's alright. But it would be great to let the fans know."

"Sure, Mr. Popular." I smirked teasingly. He rolled his eyes playfully and turned on the camera and angled it at me.

"Okay so tell us what happened again...?" He trailed, searching for something.

"Y/n." I smiled.

"Okay so tell us what happened, Y/n."

"Soo, when I arrived here, I had no clue it was haunted until this handsome stranger told me." I smiled and winked jokingly. "But before I came in here, I saw a figure standing on a balcony and it was just.... staring at me. It gave me goosebumps. And after that, the second I stepped foot into the hotel the energy surrounding me felt, sad. Like previous people here were longing for something. And a bit of anger was hidden beneath the longing and sadness. I also got catcalled, but when I turned around I was alone. Whatever happened here must've been pretty bad." I explained for a second time but in more detail. "I still don't know what happened here, I just know that it's haunted."

I smiled at the boy behind the camera. "I'm colby, by the way." He mirrored my smile.

"Thanks for letting me know what I was getting myself into, Colby." I giggled as he put the camera down.

"Yeah, Sure." He laughed, his deep voice sending butterflies to my stomach. Heat rises to my cheek before he continued. "If you need anything me and my friend, Sam, will be in here. And maybe our other two friends. You're also welcome to join us, we're gonna be ghost hunting."

"Yeah, I'll consider it." I smiled kindly once more. "Thanks, Colby."

"No problem." he waved, returning the smile before walking down the hall. I opened my hotel room, rushing in and throwing my bag on my bed.

I sighed happily, finally being able to sleep. I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, and I shivered a bit before trying to push the thought to the back of my mind.

I changed out of my white dress, and replaced it for pajama bottoms and a long sleeve shirt with holes for my thumbs.

I put fresh socks on before turning out the light and quickly hopping into the big bed.

I saw something in the corner, just before fatigue took over my body.

'Wake up' A females voice whispered in my ear.

I shot out of bed quickly, my eyes wide. Sweat dripped down the side of my head as I looked around my room. "Hello??" I said out loud. No response.

I shrugged it off as my imagination, and tried to fall back asleep.

I rubbed my eyes, tiredly sitting up.

“Why do I keep waking up.” I whispered to myself, picking up a clock that rested on a nightstand to the left of me.

“3:33.” I read out loud. “Isn’t that an Angel number?”

I shrugged it off, before I heard a mumbling. My head shot up and stared into the darkness that lie before me.

I squinted, trying to see into the black fog. I saw a figure. Staring at me. Menacingly. My eyes widened as I froze in fear.

A faint “What do you want?” Tore from my parted lips.

It didn’t respond, to nobody’s surprise, yet still stood there.

I sat in the king sized bed, slowly building up to courage to make a run for it.

When the courage was built, I leapt out of bed and ran for the door, only to be flung away from it.

I hit the wall, with a loud ‘thud,’ before landing on the floor.

Tears welled up in my eyes after I groaned in pain. My back was definitely gonna be bruised.

I crawled for the door as fast as I could, but got violently dragged by an invisible force. I dragged my nails against the carpet.

Once it let me go I quickly rushed to stand up but got aggressively pushed against the wall. The side of my face slammed into the wall, as an unbearable pain shot through my cheek at the violent contact. A Bible flew through the air and hit me in the face. Blood dripped down my nose as I cried in pain. I heard loud knocking on my door and my eyes widened.

“Y/n!? Are you okay?!” A familiar voice shouted.

I tried to get to the door but cried out when a sharp, stinging pain shot through my back.

I sobbed, feeling myself get dragged once more before the entity let go. I jumped up and ran to the door, flinging it open. I was met with four concerned faces, three of them being un-familiar.

I sobbed into my hands, as the traumatic event played over and over in my head.

“What the fuck happened?!” Colby asked.

“Are you okay?!” The blonde boy next to him asked.

“Th-there was something in there!!” I cried out as a blonde girl rubbed my back comfortingly.

“Come to our room for a second. We’ll help you and you can tell us everything.” A black haired girl said, her brows furrowed in worry.

I nodded, following the two girls as the two boys checked my hotel room for anyone.

We entered their hotel room and I sat down on the red sofa.

The blonde girl brought back a tissue and a cold water bottle.

I used the tissue for my nose, after giving a small thanks. I placed the water bottle on the huge bruise on my cheek.

“I’m kris.”

“Celina. And the other boys are Sam and Colby.” Celina said.

“Th-thank you guys.. so much.” You smiled gratefully.

“What happened?” Sam asked.

“I-I don’t know… there was this thing and it-it threw me around like I was a fucking rag doll.” I joked a bit, before wincing from the pain radiating on my back.

“I-I think it scratched my back.” I added. Colby came over to me and asked if he could raise my shirt. I nodded and turned around while he lifted it up.

Though I couldn’t see, they all had wide eyes and opened mouths.

“Holy shit!” Sam exclaimed. “Y/n do you mind if I record this?” He asked kindly, okay with either answer.

“You can, I don’t mind, it just hurts really bad.” I said in a pained voice. “Colby can you take a picture of it and show me?” I asked softly.

He said yes before snapping a picture of it. I stared at the picture in shock, a giant bruise on my side and three, long, bloody scratch marks starting from my upper back and ending right before the waistband of my shorts.

“Holy shit” i mimicked sam just as he started recording my injuries. I turned around and showed the rest.

“Do you wanna stay in our room for the rest of the night?” Colby offered.

“Yes please.” I said, a pleading look lingered in my eyes. “I don’t wanna go back into that room.” Tears welled up in my eyes as Celina and Kris both side-hugged me.

“It’s ok, Y/n you don’t have to.” Kris said, her brows furrowed.

“You’re safe with us. Especially the boys cause they’re a lot stronger than us.” Celina joked, attempting to lighten the mood. I laughed a long, wiping my tears.

“Thanks guys.” I said gratefully.

“Anytime.” The group postponed further exploration of the building so they could make sure I was alright.

Celina and Kris called it a night, heading to their own room to sleep or try to contact anything.

I started to get sleepy while Colby was treating my wounds. “I’m tired.” I admitted.

“I’m almost done, just try to stay up for one more minute.” He applied ointment to the scratches and ice to the bruises.

I was definitely gonna tell the hotel about this in the morning. Even though some people wouldn’t believe me, it was worth a shot.

Once Colby was done in informed me of it and I crawled under the sheets and lied in the middle of the bed.

Sam and Colby lied on either side of me, and yet I still unconsciously cuddled closer to Colby.

“Goodnight.” I sighed, feeling safe with the two boys I had only just met.

“Goodnight, Y/n.”

While she's on Labor she realizes that she got shot and is losing a lot of blood her vision is blurring and she Knows she's dying she can't come out of hiding yet because the men who wants to kill her are outside looking for her so she begs and pray to the god that she's been seeing in her dreams to save her children, she doesn't care that she does but she wants her children to live and he appears infront of her, he is 9ft tall he have no eyes but he knows he's looking at her...she desperately begs to him to save her children and he told her that he won't let Wanda dies and because He have chosen her and he will only heal Pietro because he knows the boy will die anyway

The next Morning People find Wanda's Mother dead body in the cave and they find 2 healthy babies laying next to her

hi there!! so I was recently looking for visual novels to occupy my time with, and I came across 21 questions, so I played it. and I loved it. so I played tulipe. and I liked that one a lot too. then I checked out your social media and I was really curious about the ✨️paranormal club lore✨️, so I just played all of them-

I didn't realize it when I was playing the game, but I've seen a lot of your our life art here on tumblr and I can't get over how pretty it is! even when it's just doodles that you do for fun, I still really like your style cause you make everyone look so nice. even if you're just drawing clem in a clown suit, we still love that

I don’t usually draw anymore because even though I used to like it, I feel like I lack all motivation to do it now, but seeing your art is really giving me inspiration to pick up a paper and a pencil and start drawing again :D

I personally share your love for visual novels, and I enjoy replaying yours because they're honestly so nice. I guess I just like seeing the way the story progresses and how relatable the characters feel, especially as a non-binary person who struggles to see themselves represented in games. plus I just like the voice acting in 21 questions

if I'm honest, even if it wasn't my usual genre of romance, night shift was a good play as well, especially for your first game! I can feel the inspiration from horror games and I love those types of things sm. I get why you'd wanna go back and redo it someday, but I think especially in terms of the plot and characters, it had a captivating plot and it was well written... françoise betrayed us tho rip

also this isn't about the games but from what I've seen, it honestly feels like you're a really nice person who happens to be really talented and so you deserve really nice things. even if you haven't been getting them until now, I hope you do start because you deserve it!! Now i am so sad to spread bad news BUT…. The canon ending of 21 questions is the platonic ending. 21q happens in 2019, Clem move to London in 2021 and ( spoiler alert ) will be spotted in Apple bag which takes place in 2022. Clem’s character and story haven’t entirely been revealed in his game for reasons that I’ll hopefully share in a futur but it’s for the same reasons that realistically… the relationship in 21q is destined to end with distance.

BUT that not the end if you imagine a future with Clem. If your intention is to romance them then there is an open window for the timeline where he’s a bit older. When exactly ? I won’t spoil but all I have to say is that this relationship can work on long term ! It’s just a good person, wrong moment situation and once you know everything about him, then his romance options become more real :}

Cellar Letters half-baked Fan Theory; Spoilers up to Ep.60

Yeah, so regarding this

My theory right now is that Officer John and that nurse from the mental healthy facility are exactly those voices Nate heard on the ominous reversed audio – like, I’m just saying it doesn’t seem like a coincidental re-casting of the voice actors

The reversed whispers of “erased, don’t go, alone, can’t leave” that overlap and were pretty hard to make out are credited with the same VAs as the facility nurse and Officer John.

I haven’t bothered yet to pluck at that “much louder” bit of reversed audio that can only be heard once, but I’m confident it would straight up be the same voice Harlan Guthrie used as Officer John. And, to those unaware, it’s not for a lack of range. If anyone, Harlan Guthrie does have the range to make himself sound like… how many different characters appeared on Malevolent so far? Yeah, that many.

Anyhow, those whispers are the mental health facility nurse and Officer John, I hypothesise.

Don’t have a theory how/ why yet but I’d bet it has to do with Nate being that cult baby

Best bet so far, they are either working for the cult or against the cult.

I Interpret “working for the cult” as them trying to reel Nate back in. And “working against the cult” means, I presume, they want to help Nate get away. There also could be the option that they want to kill him but with how Officer John is behaving that’s unlikely in either case.

Even if “ritual sacrifice” isn’t entirely off the table as the cult’s ultimate goal for Nate.

Like, we can’t even be sure yet what this cult’s purpose is, what’s it do.

We know about the cult/ shadow organisation that “they” have their fingers in just about anything. That “they” concern themselves with a lot of paranormal/ supernatural happenings in Maine. I’m not sure if this is a The Magnus Archives X Files kind of situation where they collect and follow up on paranormal shit. Or maybe they partially instigate some of the things and do the follow-up as a way of cleaning up after themselves.

“They” who show up in pretty much every letter are this “seen things that should not be seen, felt things that should not be felt, you do not need to be alone anymore” cult group.

See the Unseen dot Org (no I haven’t googled the URL, I’m not going to, I’m not into ARG stuff) – the website that links the address of Nate’s house in Maine as basically the organisation’s letterbox

Plus, it’s confirmed that “they” wanted Nate to move into that house that has been this cult’s letterbox for decades.

But that’s it. I’m just saying that nurse and Officer John aren’t randomly showing up in Nate’s life when he needs allies (or people he thinks are allies).

My theory is half-baked at best. I’d rather say barely-not-completely-raw-anymore. It’s got loose ends front and back but I’m pretty convinced on the casting choices theory (even tho I know meta information for fan theories is a bit delicate).

I would love to go on theorising, this ominous dull/ murmuring static that happens sometimes is probably the house …doing something? Being… paranormal and shit? And this reoccurring knocking only the listeners can hear while Nate obviously can’t. …But to be honest I’m coming up empty so far.

Best guess is the knocking does relate to Steve and I’m not so sure anymore Steve is a real person. Yeah, rude. I know. Or maybe Steve was a real person but isn’t anymore? As I said, coming up empty on that front

On the eternal wait for more Cybersix in english, I've decided to pick up Irish Coffee, the first creation of the Trillo/Meglia duo.

Much like Cybersix, Irish Coffee starts publication in Europe then is brought to Argentina where is translated in its totality and later compiled into a singular book, with lots of little extras~. A singular book way outta my budget tho, ppl from 2011 saying that 200 pesos is expensive hurts my soul, shits like 10000 pesos now 😭.

Fortunally, there is another one~

Irish Coffee also had a run on the newspaper Clarin, each sunday of 1997, covering 1999 argentine elections and all the wacky, supernatural things that happen around it as the new millenium approaches.

Since it was published in a national newspaper, it was only a matter of visiting my local and national ✨hemeroteca✨ to read it~

Those episodes only last so long though. Otherwise I like being out and doing things (usually with my dogs). I love traveling to new places and trying new things. I listen to all types of music, but David Bowie and Neil Diamond will always place top in my heart. I love to sing and dance at random. I’m not good at either, but that doesn’t stop me.

Those are my good days though. Some days depression and anxiety get ahold on me and I’ll do a 180. Those days I usually try to stay on my own and read or distract myself with movies and tv.

My favorite genre is horror. I love scary things - books, movies, documentaries, tv shows. Paranormal investigations? Im in! Stephen King’s new release? I already got it preordered.

I love games. I’m not so much into video games, but tabletop and card games are my jam. I’m also pretty good at trivia too (the more useless and random the questions are, the better I am).

I’m also a practicing pagan and witch. I specialize in divination (tarot cards, oracle cards, and tea leaf reading) and have a ridiculously large collection of rocks/crystals, candles (mostly because I like things that smell good) and different tarot and Oracle decks. came across this korean mystery vn and i knew i had to get it bc someone commented that it had a similar feel to danganronpa/zero escape O: seems like i have a type

i usually don’t prefer to get digital copies of games but there was really no choice... i heard the physical copy is sold out in korea and resales are going for 200 USD ain’t nobody got money for that

i don’t think anyone i know is gonna purchase this game and play for themselves and i can’t share the game either bc it’s a digital copy sooo i’m gonna write a review~ please enjoy!!

basically the plot goes as such: the survival reality tv show Buried Stars was about to commence the finals of its current season with the remaining five contestants when the building suddenly collapses. most of the audience and staff members were safely evacuated except for seven ppl (the five contestants and two staff members) who are trapped in the wreckage with just their smartwatches that connects them to the outside world via calls (problematic bc they can only call a restricted number of ppl and the signal inside is shit) and phater (bootleg twitter). after trying to make some calls, everyone was then told that the rescue team would take around six hours to break into the collapsed building to get them out.

ok so they just have to wait it out... in an unstable building that can come down at any moment. cool.

then!!! they find the producer’s dead body, seemingly a victim to the falling debris!! they’re down to six survivors now.

despite the circumstances, voting is still ongoing and some rando on phater claims that the contestant in the last place will die as if the atmosphere wasn’t bad enough.

this is your smartwatch interface!! most of the functions are pretty useless with regards to the actual gameplay but it’s just fun to play around with them i guess

for e.g. you can change the background and ringtone but they don’t affect anything

there’s this feature that keeps track of changes that occur when you pick certain conversation topics during communication rounds and it’s really useful for replays!! too bad it doesn’t keep track of sanity changes in mc

this is the mc!! even though he looks like he would be a tsundere punk he’s actually very soft?? kinda like saihara but with a bit more spine

i was expecting there to be a lot of mysteries but given the circumstances i guess it makes sense to not have that many... there’s no murder mystery if it happened in an accident site and looked like an accident you see

a lot of conversation topics focus on the character’s backstory and stuff so you get to learn more about the characters while waiting for rescue (one of the goals of this game is actually to collect characters’ profiles!)

bonding through a shared traumatic experience sounds reasonable

did i mention that the cutscenes are fully voiced (either in korean or japanese depending on your preference)?? i played it in korean for my first gameplay for ~Optimal Experience~ but i switched to japanese in subsequent plays bc i wanted to be able to understand what the characters were saying without reading the text

the only thing that throws me off is that characters are given japanese names in the japanese dub but the in-game text still uses their korean names??? why

my boi gyu-hyuk is voiced by takuya eguchi and hyesung is voiced by shimono hiro (i actually doubted my ears at first bc hyesung sounds angry 24/7 and i only know shimono’s derpy zenitsu and troll ouma voices sweats;;) wOW 👍👍👍

the first ending is the same for everyone even if you picked the best options

they call it a “normal end” but tbh it’s a bad end bc everyone dies and nothing is resolved

after you clear the game for the first time you will get to replay from the start but your options will change so you can proceed towards other routes!! yay

oh yeah in case anyone is wondering this game is rated T and bodies are shown in the form of a silhouette with non-explicit close-ups during investigation so if you can’t handle graphic stuff it’s not too bad

there’s a horror route that you can enter by using the “laboratory” conversation topic on everyone and expressing how much it creeps you out

and the entire game shifts in genre to actual horror (like with paranormal activities)

IT WAS REALLY SCARY AND THERE WERE HANDS EVERYWHERE AND EVERYONE WAS ACTING WEIRD ASLJELKASJ i had my eyes closed half the time and i regret playing on my monitor

i didn’t take many screenshots bc as i mentioned my eyes were not looking at the screen for most part but i hope that you can kinda understand where i’m coming from with these two screenshots

the game is actually split into two major routes (A and B) which differ in who gets saved and who dies

you can only start on the B route after you get the true ending which is in the A route

unfortunately there is no route where everyone (even if you exclude the producer bc she dies before do-yoon regains consciousness at the start of the game) survives TT

if hyesung and seil survive then gyu-hyuk kills himself and leaves a note but do-yoon tears it up so we don’t know what he wrote

overall a solid mystery vn with beautiful graphics and enough routes to keep you occupied for many hours!! i highly recommend following a walkthrough bc it’s not an easy game if you want to collect all the possible endings and achievements

cuz there are minor changes to the epilogue depending on how close you are with the characters

i actually don’t play a lot of VNs but i feel like all VNs need the route map thingy in AI: the somnium files

my only gripe about this game is prob the derpy translations which usually isn’t a big issue (imo at least) but for a game priced this high?? i expected better

silver moon - catherine lundoff ⭐️⭐️⭐️ a paranormal novel about a small town in which certain women who reach the age of menopause find another change happening to their bodies. i.e. they become werewolves. i fucking adored this concept and there was f/f romance, but the execution and the writing was sadly pretty boring.

no-no boy - john okada ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ post-wwii, following a young japanese american man who was just released from prison. called a no-no boy because like all other japanese men at the time, he was asked two questions: will you serve in the armed forces and swear loyalty to the us? he answered no to both questions and was detained. the novel follows him grappling with that decision after the war, looks into his friends, family life, race relations, and what it’s like living in a country that despises you. enjoyed it a lot.

the husband gambit - l.a. witt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the kind of tropey romance nonsense that i live for. contemporary m/m slow burn fake marriage between a struggling actor, and the son of a famous hollywood producer. there were some meh parts (like, the plotting and the reasoning behind why they had to get fake married was like... are you SURE marriage is the best way to fix this) but i really liked it for the romance and the tropes.

drive your plow over the bones of the dead - olga tocarczuk ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ contemporary polish mystery fiction, following an old woman living in a secluded community in the woods, when poachers and prominent hunters begin turning up dead. really interesting writing and format, and a really excellent protagonist. not sure how much i liked the actual mystery.

the babysitter - jack harbon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ quick and dirty m/m romance, a literature-loving babysitter falls for the divorced father of the kid he babysits. pretty fun.

zipper mouth - laurie weeks ⭐️⭐️⭐️ contemporary fiction that follows a queer, mentally ill woman as she hurdles through life, unrequited love, jobs, and lots of drugs. i enjoyed the themes when there was a coherent one, but i really didn’t gel with the style. i guess it was trying to be stream of consciousness, which i have read and enjoyed in the past. but this didn’t do it for me. interesting tho, and honestly, i just might not have been the audience for it.

spirits abroad - zen cho ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a PHENOMENAL collection of stories drawing inspiration from malaysian spirits, culture and folklore. absolutely loved it, fave read of the month for sure. loved the use of language and dialect, and the writing was simple and precise and wonderful. and there were some great f/f stories in here. 

a cat, a man and two women - junichiro tanizaki ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the setting: 1920s japan. the characters: lily, a fat tortoiseshell. shozo, her lazy, well-meaning, but ineffectual cat-dad. fukuko, his hot young former mistress, current wife. shinako, his strong-willed, slightly bitter ex-wife. the plot: shinako decides, HEY ACTUALLY FUCK YOU KEEP YOUR HOT WIFE BUT I WANT THE CAT. a great novella about loneliness and comeuppance and marriage. the best part was the cat lol.

the terracotta bride - zen cho ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ really interesting novella about a young dead woman living in chinese hell. she’s married, and her husband has three wives. the first: estranged, conniving, distant. the second: herself, unwilling but resigned. the third: newly arrived, and made out of terracotta. very interesting novella, beautifully written, grim but hopeful, f/f romance on the side.

king and the dragonflies - kacen callender ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ wonderful queer children/YA book about family, grief, racism, coming to know yourself and also accepting yourself. contemporary, but it almost FEELS like a fantasy/magical realism book. 

orphan number eight - kim alkemade ⭐️⭐️⭐️ a novel about an orphaned woman coming to terms with experiments done on her as a child, when she encounters the doctor who performed said experiments, dying in a nursing home. the writing in this was pretty so-so, did a lot of head-hopping which is my biggest pet peeve. i liked the concept, but the plot and the follow through were meh. loved that the main character was a lesbian though, and some of the writing was great.

firm hand - nora phoenix ⭐️⭐️ meh... not for me. m/m contemporary romance following a guy recovering from the car crash that killed his best friend, and his best friend’s son. it went some places that i’m just not up for, lol.

meet cute club - jack harbon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REALLY adorable m/m romance, following a dorky, earnest romance novel lover, and the new cashier at his favourite book store. they end up trying to revive the main characters struggling book club, and falling in love along the way. very fun and sweet.

mrs. mix up - candice harper ⭐️⭐️ the concept sounded so so cute: an f/f romance about two librarians with similar last names that go to a library convention and the staff mistakenly thinks they’re married and book them into one room. but the writing and chemistry were lacklustre and it was extremely poorly edited. it’s a shame, i could have liked this.

mine - kim hartfield ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a sexy f/f romance that i liked a LOT, about a young woman who after a traumatic event in her life decides to quit her job and go volunteer on a farm in the middle of nowhere. she ends up falling for her sexy lesbian farmer boss. it got deep in some areas i wasn’t really expecting it to, though it was a tad... idk, preachy? and the conflict at the end was annoying. enjoyed it a bunch tho.

the hobbit - j.r.r. tolkien ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ nth reread! i’ve been listening to this on audiobook around bedtime since like... march, i think, it’s just such a comfort read for me.

the knight and the necromancer 1-3 - a.h. lee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ a very solidly good fantasy m/m romance series, about a young prince and a necromancer in a war against an invading sorcerer. sorta enemies to lovers? the three books span their relationship and the war, and though it was only a few weeks in time, it didn’t feel insta-lovey at all. liked it a lot.

the fake game - kim hartfield ⭐️⭐️⭐️ contemporary f/f fake dating office romance! pretty cute; didn’t blow me away but i solidly liked most of it.

what the wind knows - amy harbon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ historical time travel romance centred around the aftermath of the ireland easter rising. i spend so much time reading solidly gay stuff that it’s so weird reading things where the existence of queer ppl isn’t even acknowledged lol. anyway this was pretty good, i liked it mostly for the historical facts and aspects, but the romance was pretty touching too.

the golem of mala lubovnya - kim fielding ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOVELY m/m romance in a small jewish community between a newly created golem and a stonemason. lovely writing and atmosphere and characters. i had my nitpicks with the resolution but holy heck i’m so happy with this.

the electric heir - victoria lee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the second part of a queer YA duo-logy that i started earlier this year, set in a future dystopian magic-riddled US, dealing with abuse and trauma and survivors. extremely difficult to read, almost unenjoyable at times (because god these kids go through so much) but very very good.

first everything - kim hartfield ⭐️⭐️ aha, possibly my last try with this author, though i liked the first book i read by her so much i might read one more! f/f romance between a journalist and a fictional first daughter (who’s also like, a domme, lol). the plot was fine but a lot of the character stuff and the shitty parent stuff really bothered me.

and that was may! for june i’ll... read lots of queer stuff, but i mean i do that every month. i also want to try to read less romance, more thriller and historical and just general contemporary? i feel like i say that all the time, but i’ll try. (though i did just get my first ever advanced reader copy from netgalley and it’s f/f romance, so... exciting!) currently reading the 7 deaths and evelyn hardcastle, a thriller. pretty okay so far.

im gonna. go with a group of ocs tied into a story together cause its easier than picking some random ones and also cause i. love this group a whole lot tbh aaaaaAAAAAA

k so theres this group of kids called ‘supernatural nerds’, in a story together titled ‘hunters of fate’, which is basically just a modern supernatural setting with various beings alongside normal humans, like you have demons and witches and people with extraordinary powers and shapeshifters and a vampire. at least in this group so far, theres a whole lot of other beings appearing throughout the story but not really as a regular cast

as for main characters we have ada! shes a witch who owns a little witchy shop in the city, and has her workshop, where she brews her potions and performs other witch things she does, near the outskirts of the city. she also works with a local private detective (and her love interest cause ofc) to help him solve cases related to more supernatural happenings around the city and other places nearby

april is a vampire~ im not 100% sure yet how im gonna exactly fit her into the things, but shes definitely gonna be the spice of the city nightlife, so shes gonna bring up some trouble to the people already having to deal with the rest of the supernatural stuff running about tbh

aurora is a shapeshifter! she can turn into a chipmunk and back to a human at will, and she loves being mischievous and pulling pranks on people a lot tbh. especially since she can get away with it really easily by turning into a chipmunk and just disappearing, and as shes homeless, people dont really know how to locate her very easily

blair is a little of an odd one as im not entirely sure how im going to place him yet either, but he has a superpower of electronic disruption, which allows him to make stuff like machinery and lights go haywire and misfunction at will. which he uses a lot just to cause mayhem and general chaos in public, mostly cause he has a need for attention

blaire is also a witch, def friends with ada, i’d say they work quite a lot together and possibly co-own the witch shop in town too? im not entirely sure as im. also actively trying to sell this girl right now so im trying to not tie her down too much, but if i end up keeping her, that would probably be the plan!

brendan is the previously mentioned local private detective who ada works with, he mostly deals with the realms of the paranormal, in cases that other detectives wont take cause of their nature of being related to something more supernatural that seems to plague the city and its surroundings

brooke is blair’s sister, and a class a hacker. she can basically get into any system, personal or higher grade, if you just give her enough time. mostly she just uses her skill and the things she learns from hacking into people’s stuff, to track down her brother who she lost contact with, but if theres ever a chance to grab a little extra cash on the side selling the info she finds forward or anything like that, shes probably gonna take it. brooke isnt exactly the most morally high character tbh

declan is a soft rich pretty boi, working safely in his father’s company and stuff, tho he does have. a side job as an underground fighter lol. cause he wants to make a name of his own and not just lean on his father’s and whatnot, so he wants to make his own way of things

evan is a young boy, an “adopted” son of hunter. he just pretty much hates everything and everyone and loves to rebel cause “youre not my real dad” and well. hes not wrong (this is a whole big complicated spoiler-y story thing im not gonna get into right here and now but yeah. evan has issues with everything cause people are assholes mmmm)

faine! is a childhood friend of nates! shes an important character tbh, and shes a soft sweetie who will fist fight anyone who talks shit about her friends. shes a babe that loves pink, but also shes. kind of a sad character cause shes way too dedicated to nate and his stuff for her own good, and her backstory includes dead parents so heyyyy

hunter is a demon. and spoilers, responsible for the death of nate’s parents (which was technically ruled just as a car accident but welllllll). really his whole business is to just do demon stuff and make deals with people so he can either get them to do his bidding for him, or so that he can possess them or their souls to get shit he wants done done without having to involve himself in stuff. also yes hes technically evan’s “adoptive dad” cause evan’s parents sold him to hunter for riches

kevinnnnnnn, nate’s boyfriend. somewhere down the line in canon, i havent exactly figured out where or when its gonna happen but its somewhere down there lol. i dont. have too much for him yet honestly? highly debating on giving him some sort of a more high profile career like maybe hes. a model or a small time actor or something. something more high key. idk but hes just. yeah he gay thats about it so far lol

narrator is a demon with the ability to see in the future of others. they do a little bit of fortune telling, tho its never straightforward told to people what they see, even if they do see some things in the future happening very clearly. they can only give out cryptic hints, stuff like ‘beware of the red eyes’ or something like that, giving out anything else will have dangerous consequences to the people who’s future he is telling tbh

nicolas is the second shapeshifter of the group! and is friends with aurora cause of that obviously yay ~ another homeless little dumpster diver, pretty much just like aurora, cause they constantly hang together and just enjoy making a mess together. i dont. have too much on him yet or where he fits into the story, but i love him nonetheless aaaaaa hes precious ~

aaaand finally! zakath! the third demon boi of the group! hes tied together with hunter (cough friends with benefits cough), as they work together closely - zakath is referred to as a ‘collector demon’, who takes the tasks of collecting what humans have promised to demons when making deal with them. thats for example how evan was brought into this whole mess, as zakath picked him up from his parents and brought him over to hunter who the humans had made a deal with to give him their first born child for monetary riches. he might have. some ulterior motives with things and hanging out with hunter tho, buuuuut story spoilers yay, so we dont talk about that now

dasha - he just loves being around dasha in general it doesnt matter what theyre doing really. he loves to work with dasha around and work on projects with him and dara. he likes to draw dasha when hes fallen asleep or not paying attention... he likes to watch dasha play video games. he loves singing and dancing with him while cleaning the apartment. he loves waking up early to cook breakfast and he luvs waking him up for it. he likes to hear him talk for hours abt anything at all. but his fave thing? he loves to kiss dasha all the time

dara - he loves to build things and work with dara. he loves to watch him play video games. he doesnt really like it but bc dara loves it hell watch scary paranormal videos and crime shows with him...hell get super paranoid but...he loves his little brother hed never make dara afraid to show him his interests. he likes listening to dara talk abt mysterious missing persons cases and abt cryptids or paranormal events he read up on. felix himself avoids subjects like that but he thinks its really interesting when dara talks abt it bc hes proud of him...dara is so dedicated to his interests and knows so much abt stuff.. felix is here to give dara the credit he wont give himself it makes him :^)cbegrudgingly he also goes ghost hunting with dara (and dasha) but only to protect them

mikolaj - he likes taking smoke breaks with him and just talking for hours. abt anything at all, their interests, their families, their internal problems. felix loves just being close with miko and listening to him talk and making him laugh. he likes showing miko how to build and repair simple things and he LOVES sparring with him. its so fun to swordfight with miko it makes him very energized. he likes cooking with miko and being a jerk and making fun of people with him. he loves to sing with him too! he also begrudgingly goes ghost hunting with him to protect him and pull him out when he starts making things violent cause hes dumb -_-

leonardo - he LOVES partying with leo;; hes a party animal when hes drunk leo thinks its super embarrassing but felix LOVES it. felix likes to take smoke breaks and drink with leo to check up on him and make sure hes doing okej. he likes to watch fashion shows with him and even watch him work on new clothes if hes drawing up the design or starting to make it. he likes to play the video games leos interested in for him;; he couldnt play them himself before but even tho he can now he likes watching felix anyways or playing with him if its 2 player :^) he Loves to spar and work out with leo;; he also loves going to the beach or to a pool and just swimming for a long time and he likes taking tino out for walks with leo. he also loves cooking for/with him since leo is often too lazy to cook for himself!!

pietro - they dont get to hang out too often but when they do felix likes to party with him (especially with leo too). they both always have the best time together when they do. felix often hides pietro agostina and zacharie at his place when they have to lay low. in these times he likes to crack jokes with pietro and take smoke breaks with him to let him blow off some steam. felix rly just enjoys pietros company when he has time to spare it :^) they also like to spar with each other!

ryker - he likes to discuss and work on projects with them and get into silly contests with them. 

shufen - he likes to listen to her talk abt her interests; theyre the same as daras so they both often get into a big conversation talking abt the cool thinks they know and felix just likes to listen to them the whole time bc he thinks its interesting. he likes seeing all the vintage items shes collected and hearing the odd stories behind the ones that have them and he likes just cracking jokes with her (+dara & talia) all the time

pekka - he likes to drink and party with him. he also occasionally enjoys to play music with him; felix often sings and/or plays the guitar while pekka plays the violin

maxim - he likes to drink and discuss things. they dont really do much else without others around tho. maxim was too bitter and downright cruel at times. at most felix likes to tease him for things as usual

agostina - they dont hang out often and when they do its only bc pietro wanted to hang out with felix. but they like to have small talk over drinks. felix is genuinely interested in her and wishes the best for her but he can tell she doesnt usually like to be bothered so he doesnt push her

alcides - he and alcides dont hang out much anymore but before the incident alcides used to nag him abt how he shouldnt party and drink so much and should take care of his body more. yet...he still went to felixs parties and had fun bc felixs parties are just the best and he couldnt resist em :^/ now when they hang out felix likes to just talk and see how hes doing offer to go out and eat or offer to take him shopping and just get him some cool new stuff. help him pick up a new interest or something. that aaaand he of course loves to play with alcides’ dog endika, despite being allergic to dogs

harper - he LOVES to discuss mechanics with her and show her how to repair and build things! he likes to work on projects with her! and he likes teaching her how to swordfight. he likes to listen to her gush abt her interests and he loves to talk abt his brothers (dara+leo) he likes to invite her to parties and is very :^) they are truly joth wlw/mlm solidarity

lynden - bastard.........little gremlin man. felix Doesnt like lynden and he Doesnt like hanging out with him. but he will bc hes important to dasha. at most felix likes to make fun of him with miko but thats not them rly hanging out. felixs strongest attempt at getting along is offering swords training which lynden accepted! much to lyndens surprise, when in swords training felix is actually very encouraging. hes excitable yet patient. and felix always makes sure its a fun learning experience for lynden :^)

What do you love about your WIP?

Got tagged by the wonderful @damawrites who for some reason tumblr refused to believe existed for several minutes. The tag would not work for the life of me. 

Athanasia/The Legacy of Riven 

- I love how much its changed. I’ve been working on this on and off for over three years now. Originally the story was about a plucky mage boy who escapes a prison that houses mages because they’re viewed as dangerous (cough dragon age cough) and he meets up with a thief who later turns out to be the long lost prince and they go on adventures and stuff.  Now, that mage boy is my major villain and the thief is no-one special, but he strives to save the world not for prophecy but because he feels responsible for putting it in danger in the first place. 

- Also Riven, the thief, was meant to be this snarky jerk with a heart of hold and over time became the most mature person who literally has every reason to hate the world around him and want it to burn but instead fights to save it. He wasn’t actually meant to be the hero, that was meant for a noble prince/chosen one character who is now just a minor background character. 

- My own dumb little inside jokes with it, like when I mentioned Riven survives a fire, being shot at, stabbed and then thrown from a building my friend just went; “So this asshole is surviving purely out of spite at this stage right?”  This joke carries on to his fence who writes stories about their adventures and the character based on him is killed in every single one but is magically revived in the next book with no other characters questioning it. 

- He’s also called the boy who fears neither the gods or death. 

- How I accidentally showed what an unhealthy relationship was compared to a healthy one. With Gabriel and Riven it was two people bonding over all their shared bad experiences and abuse and nothing else. With Kione and Riven, it’s two people growing with each other and encouraging each other. And yeah they both suffer too but they help the other with their emotional and physical scars and that never happened between Gabriel and Riven. 

Withergate 

- I’m going to state outright that I am absolutely obsessed with the paranormal and death. I used to watch Ghost Hunters until I gave myself nightmares and Silent Hill will always be my number one love. Withergate is something of a fusion of the two. 

- Withergate also deals with mental disorders, such as schizophrenia. I had a relative with schizophrenia who sadly killed themselves when I was very young and it’s always saddened me that mental disorders are used for cheap villains or scares. You know the whole oh he did it cause he was crazy and the voices in his head told him to sort of bullshit. 

- I chose to give Shiloh schizophrenia and have him be the hero of the story. He struggles with not just his disorder, but with survivors guilt. At the start of the story he is truly the only survivor of the Withergate massacre, purely because his grandmother knew shit was going south and pulled him from the school, so he feels like he should have died along with his friends, that maybe he could have done something. And this guilt is used against him. 

- I love dark, haunting mysteries and creepy abandoned buildings, but I’m also a sucker for romance. Feng and Shiloh are one of my absolute favourite pairings. They’re fun to write, to draw and I feel they balance each other really well. Feng is what keeps Shiloh grounded, reminding him to take care of himself by leaving helpful notes like shower and eat lunch and stuff like that and listening to him whenever Shiloh needs to vent his feelings and fears. Shiloh in return encourages Feng to follow his passion for art, whereas before he was told no you won’t make money from it, and Shiloh is just like why not tho? 

- I’m yammering on too much Jesus Christ. 

Among Blood and Dirt 

- I fucking love post apocalyptic settings. Especially zombie ones, but they get so much shit these days because of how overdone they are. 

- Also have another hero/main protagonist who is no-one special and never will be. They’re just someone who was at the wrong place at the wrong time but wants to save people because it’s the right thing to do. 

- Rook could have just thrown away the parcel and not have anything to do with it, but he chooses to press on because who else can? And Rook was originally meant to be the broody reluctant hero, but instead he’s the sweetest thing who believes in doing what’s right, but also has to deal with the consequences of it. And I think he’s going to go through a lot more maturity throughout the book. 

- Tanner came a long way too, he was originally a villain, one who would try to steal the parcel from Rook and kill him. He was also going to be a hell of a lot more unhinged, as one would be after being enslaved, tortured and forced to watch the same happen to other people over and over again. But as I kept writing him Tanner became a lot more grounded and I love him so much more now. He still keeps doing what he likes, running his shop and collecting knick knacks, but he’s clearly still haunted by his past. He’s sick of suffering and death but when he sees that Rook clearly needs help he does, and I think he’s more encouraged by Rook’s bravery and determination than he lets on.
