“Oh, hello…” You remarked to yourself as your eyes locked into a stunning pair of blue eyes on your screen, stopping your mindless right-swipping. “...Johnny.”

“You’re 29… A soldier… Scottish… Are you friends with Kyle?” You mused playfully. “Let me guess, you’re a gym bro, aren’t you?” You asked sarcastically as you tapped your finger on the right side, skipping through his pictures. The first one immediately after was him lifting while wearing a weightlifting belt. “Yup… Mandatory gym pic.”

Chuckling to yourself, you snap a screenshot of his profile to the girls as well, sending it quick.

Shaking your head and laughing in amusement, you went back to Tinder, checking on ‘Johnny’. The mandatory gym pic was there… a couple of them in fact! And then the mandatory shirtless selfie. Or rather… The mandatory shirtless SELFIES. Plural.

Three of them… The first one was him just straight up wearing just a towel… And the next was him in a kilt… And the next was him with a button-up very much so unbuttoned. 

“Oh, my, Johnny-John-John… You sure know how to woo a bird…” You joked to yourself.

You dragged your finger down to check his bio and immediately frowned. “Of course…” You trailed off with a disappointed frown as you snuck another spring roll into your mouth.

He might be stupidly attractive, but his personality… Gosh, he doesn’t know how to sell himself. Boring, boring, boring. “I work out and like video games!” You quipped mockingly and scoffed a bit.

“Artist.” You remarked when you reached the last of his profile’s tags, spotting that word in the hobby section. “An artist? You?” You asked your phone screen as if Johnny would come alive in it and answer you. 

You’d admit, him calling himself an artist was intriguing enough, but normally that wouldn’t be enough to make you Swipe Right on him… But you’re not under normal circumstances. You promised your friends you’d Swipe Right on everyone so…

Your phone almost dropped out of your hand as soon as the ‘It’s a Match’ screen showed. “Of course… He’s probably swiping right on everyone as well…” Rolling your eyes, you go to click off the screen but accidentally enter DMs.

sae is definitely awestruck in some way, even if he doesn't immediately show it. i think i talked about this in a previous headcanon, but he has a deep-seated admiration for artists who can grasp abstract concepts because he himself cannot. he would be somewhat flattered if you drew him since he's never considered his own appearance to be particularly inspiring. would be appalled if you considered him your muse. like....why? to him, his looks aren't anything of importance (clearly he is blind.) would probably say your drawing was inaccurate but then hang it up by his nightstand so he can look at it every night before he goes to sleep. if you're a full-time artist, he probably keeps a little stash of your gifts in a small box beneath his bed. sometimes if he's having a bad day or he lost a game, he goes back and flips through them just to make himself feel better. secretly loves the way you draw his bangs and the little swoop you do in your signature.

kaiser corrects every single detail in your drawing. stands behind you and gives you little pointers here and there. he should have an 8-pack, not a 6-pack. his jawline isn't sharp enough in your initial sketch. poses shirtless in front of you so that way you can encapsulate the full extent of his sexiness. shows off your drawing to every living creature in existence. "isn't he handsome?" like...🙄 yeah, michael we know. he's probably the hardest to draw because of his tattoo, so i think he genuinely appreciates it when you put in the effort to capture his intricacies. will never admit this but he's low-key proud of you and your talent (mostly just your ability to make him look good.)

rin is one of those people who doesn't understand hyperrealism. like why does he need a highly detailed sketch of his face when he can just take a photo and print it out? i don't think he understands art in general. probably despises modern art too. he'd take one look at a rothko painting and be like....i could draw this too...in my sleep. similar to sae, i feel like he's just numb to the sentimentality of gift-giving. doesn't understand why you would waste your time drawing a little picture of him, but it does make his heart feel strangely fuzzier, so maybe he'll keep it this one time. lo and behold, months later he now has a collection of your drawings he doesn't have the heart to throw away. refuses to let isagi or anyone see them because they're meant for his eyes only.

yukimiya has impeccable taste. in fact, he's probably an artist himself. i think it'd be cute if you both drew little sketches of each other throughout the course of your relationship. but neither of you ever knew until you gifted him your sketchbook for christmas, and he was like....guess what...i drew you too. thinks you're pretty even when you don't think so. sometimes when you're having a coffee shop date, he scribbles a portrait of you on his napkin because the sunlight hit your cheek just right in that moment, and the birds were chirping, and he fell in love all over again. i think it's also tragic that he's slowly losing his eyesight, so he won't be able to enjoy your drawings and the vibrant colors you infuse into them. that's why he treasures them even more. probably thumbs over the pages from time to time. memorizes every stroke and line.

isagi likes the way you always draw that little tuft of hair that sticks up on the top of his head. it looks like a cute little bean sprout. he pins your drawings up above his bed next to a polaroid of you two in germany. buys you a professional art set for your birthday. if you're a digital artist, he buys you a new tablet and stylus.

bachira adds his own doodles next to yours except he makes a chibi version of everything. always pesters you to include his little fangs. uses the boldest combination of colors. he would definitely be a messy artist. paint everywhere. fingernails perpetually stained a different color. you both draw during class, so when you two trade notebooks to actually study......there aren't any actual notes.

barou acts like he doesn't know what to do with your drawing of him but then the next day you visit his house, and he's already put your artwork in a fancy picture frame. refuses to let anyone else even stand within a ten meter radius next to it because he doesn't want their "nasty fingerprints" all over your beautiful masterpiece.

My favourites may change and fluctuate, but I will always have a special place in my heart for Novi Val <3 it was my most listened song of 2023 because I am a basic bitch who loves a rock ballad (does it count as a rock ballad? idk) with silly little hopeful and earnest lyrics. I also love that when they play it live they all come to the front and chill and hold each other (except at the concert I went to, Jure didn't come to the front :( ) I can only apologise to whoever was in front of me at the concert for the person I became when they played it, I know a worrying amount of the lyrics and I got a bit carried away 🙃

La Noche Sin Tí - Los Huayra

I got absolutely obsessed with this song when I was in Argentina, I don't know what else to say, I love the vibe, the vocal harmonies, and the memories it brings back :)

been talking about my favorite running gag in Elysium, which is— all gods teleport, right? (We call it ‘poofing’ uwu) every god teleports in a slightly different way depending on realm, traits, etc - but all those ways involve at least a slight visual cue and a slight audio cue. a puff of smoke, a zap of light. etc. the literal ONLY exception is Epi, who - due to being god of nightmares!?! Presumably???!! teleports completely silently with NO sign at all just. one second he’s not there one second he is Right Behind You.

for fifteen years of the Elysium’verse Epi has been popping up in conversations out of fucking nowhere, making whoever just got jumpscared jump, scared, indeed. Epi maintains absolutely adamantly that he has no idea what anyones talking about when they startle and yell at him. anyway we know all this (or now you do)

so, about this. the only people who DON’T Jump when Epi appears out of thin air two inches from your ear are: his husband Eury, of course. All of Epi’s children!!! and also Loki who was SO irritated by Epi doing this that he trained himself to just Be Ready for him at all times (and then started doing it himself 🙄)

the fun part is that this Rule (Everyone Jumps When Epi Casually Pops Up, Except Those Aforementioned People) can then be broken to hammer in certain beats like.,, in either direction. In the pre-canon canon when Eury and Epi first met Eury jumped out of his fucking skin when Epi appeared suddenly and then eventually got used to it 🥹 same thing IN canon, when they adopted Meli and she slowly became accustomed to Epi’s sudden appearances. AAHH!!

or the other way around when something is terribly wrong - in our actual canon found two instances of The Rule being broken in the opposite way - one, when Chal was first captured LONG before she’d ever been fully rehabbed like, in the first WEEK, long story but Eury was so deeply upset (he’d hated Chal like Maci at first) that he’d run away after flinging a teaspoon of Lethe water at her and - when he finally spoke to Epi again and Eury actually fuckin jumped when Epi appeared was. ohhhh my HEART oh NO. Your equilibrium is off!!

or, hahah, the literal only time ever that Bel’s jumped at Epi’s appearance was when Epi found out he and Chal were together, in that he’d been suspicious, left them, and appeared again behind them once they’d fallen against each other. Chal always jumps / Bel doesn’t usually. He did this time and burst into tears. AAHHHHHH!! (obviously that all turned out fine)

i. albedo

the alchemist is always indulging himself in his work, but alas, working so frequently on an icy cold mountain can get to him sometimes. which is where you come in.

normally, he would place a hand on your waist with a soft, lazy grip while reading sucose's notes about her latest tests. or, (his personal favourite) just wrapping a singular arm around you while handling brightly coloured chemicals, you being trapped in between him and his desk.

though he is a very busy man, he does try and make time for you, spending time with you and klee when he isn't preoccupied will be something he treasures. when it comes to sleeping, he just doesn't sleep 🤣👎 you have to physically drag his ass to bed while he whines about it, like shut up its 2 in the morning we all see your eyebags nerd

he isn't very clingy, so he likes facing you in bed, tenderly holding your hand while you drift off to sleep. though, we all know once you fall asleep he gets back up and finishes off his work 🙄

ii. venti

clingy asshole doesn't let go of you. you just have to live with him now, he is a extension of your very being. taking strolls with him in monstat is pretty common, his hand intertwine with yours, and his arm swinging back and forth obnoxiously while everybody looked at you with concern.

man SHUT YO 🤬🤬🤬 he drags you everywhere, always touching you or holding your hand in anyway (if you consent, of course), and he's pretty much the same when it turns night. at this time of day he's normally extremely drunk, so your gonna have to drag him to bed where he just wraps all of his limbs around you like a koala, drunkenly murmuring and gushing about how pretty his significant other is.

you aren't going to escape from his grip 😇😇🤝 just hold him and wait for his massive hangover tomorrow !!

iii. scaramouche

stupid ass bowl cut mf doesn't know whether to show everybody that your his, or continue to act like he hates you (sometimes you think he actually does). most of the time, he hates public affection, hell, your relationship is still a secret as to not create any gossip or drama among the recruits. just because your his lover, don't think he wont go easy on you 🤨👹 he will 100% treat you just like how he treats everybody else below him. god forbid he gets jealous however. like you know his short ass is gonna stomp over there and snatch you away before childe even opens his mouth. holding your hand isn't really his thing, holding your wrist on the other hand?? hell yeah!!

when it comes to being in private, bro is a whole different person. he lets himself become vulnerable while you rub his sore shoulders from a hard days work and listen to him rant about how la signora kept making fun of him 👺

his favourite thing to do however, is to rest his head on your chest and listen to your heart beat, a reminder to him that your here with him, despite everything, and vise versa

Random personal musings about Liz and Ressler incoming:

(I started writing this before Megan appeared on set, but I decided to post my thoughts anyways:)

I’m not super worried about this Liz absence. I mean, yeah, I miss her and keenler and I feel like I have been put through an emotional wringer, but, honestly, I think that’s the point. My expectations led me to feel disappointed following every episode since 8.04, following the Keenler night of love💗💓💕💞💖💘, but I found that every single time, upon rewatch and expectations set aside, I would see that there was so much more at play. I don’t want to get into that right now, but suffice it to say, they’ve tacked on a S9, and the meat and potatoes of Keenler love I still maintain are endgame stuff, so they’re going to drag this out. Maybe it is to give time to get clear of Covid restrictions before they can have a fully convincing on screen romance bloom?!... idk. who knows? 🤷‍♀️ but it is what it is. Bottom line, I think Liz’s absence allows for that relationship to be in limbo and both parties, especially Ressler to be left with the feeling of, was it real?

Furthermore, I think Ressler’s stoicism and Liz’s self-isolation goes to their respective characters. Frankly, they are both idiots: knucklehead and dipstick. Especially in love. But it’s more than that. They each made it clear: Liz NEEDS to do this, whatever it is that we do not understand yet, and Ressler NEEDS to do his job. And since what Liz needs to do do is outside the law, and what Ressler needs to do is bound by the law, they must go their separate ways.

I know we Keenlers want to view their union as a divine act of love etc, and I personally do think it was just that on a deep level, but they didn’t express that to each other in so many words. So, no one amongst the characters really knows, INCLUDING them!

They spoke to each other only through code, i.e. “rest” = making love. Or through other means: Liz’s “I miss yous” and “I care about you”, but not from her own lips. All we know for certain is that there was an attraction, and when push came to shove, they fell into bed together for, at best, comfort sex.

Which is not a bad thing, it just is what it is. I mean, TPTB said themselves that it’s all very murky and it’s difficult to pinpoint where they place them on the sex↔️love spectrum. I think we are meant to not be sure about that. I mean, CLEARLY! Even Aram, the self proclaimed champion of “love” and romance🙄, mocked and chastised Ressler for merely having Liz at his apartment! (I mean, PLEASE!! He was totally on board with Liz getting knocked up by Tom, for goodness sake!! 🤦‍♀️) To say nothing of Pannabaker’s derision and whoever tattled to Pannabaker about that. And finally, Liz herself, through The Cyranoid, kind of cheapened their night together by using it as a tool in her means to an end. Okay, it was a last resort since no one would believe that it was her speaking, but I still feel that was a low blow exposing Ressler to workplace humiliation. I mean, obviously, she’s in a very tough spot, so I guess I get it.

As far as the TF’s reactions to Ressler and Liz, I mean, in a way, it’s too early to say bc it’s so new and also quite, um.... undefined, shall we say? But I kinda do want to hear thoughts from other characters on this, if for nothing else, consistency! Tom and Liz were discussed and lauded fervently (😖🤦‍♀️), Aram and all “18” of his liaisons were discussed and supported. Why not hear some love for Keenler from the other characters?! Surprisingly, so far, Alina has been the only one who showed any hint of empathy and support towards Ressler. I, for one, would like to hear it from the others, including Red and Dembe. Pannabaker can go pack rocks lmao🤣

tell us about swtcu 👀

oooh okay so!! swtcu is the southern water tribe cinematic universe, aka my post-canon zukka series that i’ve been working on since like... november/december i think? it takes place from post-war to like... idk when i’m still working on it :/ but the series of events (part outline part written) thus far is that zuko works as firelord for a few years while sokka is studying at ba sing se university and they develop a romantic relationship, but ultimately zuko abolishes the monarchy and moves out of the fire nation. i’m still figuring that part out bc u can’t really just abolish a monarchy just like that without throwing ur country into civil war and i am a film student with little understanding of the nitty gritty of politics.... but i will figure it out soon enough. (and i have a fair amount of content after that written i just need to research how monarchies end without killing a bunch of people so i can finagle that into place)

it’s called swtcu bc i was originally planning on the premise being that zuko abolishes the monarchy and moves to the southern water tribe but i’m not completely sold on that rn. i feel like post-uni sokka might have a home base of sorts in the swt but would travel a lot for his post-war work, and zuko might do ambassadorial-type stuff or run a turtleduck shelter — but no matter what there will definitely be plenty of content in the south pole bc i love the southern water tribe. (there has to be duh bc katara lives there and zuko has to visit his bestie and she’ll kill sokka if he doesn’t visit her often 🙄)

i’m not planning on it being a chaptered fic atm, more of like a series of one-shots set in the same universe but with a clearly followable plot. it’s entirely self-indulgent and there are shenanigans & love letters & decolonization & ember island vacations & izumi!!! and i’ll definitely be working on it more this summer :D
