Let's talk about hotd's deleted scenes

Soo hotd has a lot of interesting scenes that were deleted. Some people love them, others believe that removing them was for the best.

Today I'll check em out and tell you how I feel about them, and how I think they could have benefited the show if kept in.

1. The infamous Daemon hug scene

Uhh I have.. feelings towards this.

And I already hear you go:

"How could you not like this, it's so wholesome!" Yeah I know I know, trust me, I think this is adorable, just a weird scene.

From what we know this shot was completely improvised by Matt and it shows.

Cause almost all of his character's nicer scenes that make people think "maybe he isn't that bad" were ideas Matt came up with. We can see throughout the show how the poor guy does his best to not make Daemon look like a psycho and it's nice on paper, but the contrast between his improvised scenes and the scripted ones is jarring.

I mean we go from him violently beating his first wife to death with a rock, to him tenderly breaking the news of Luke's death to Nyra or picking up Vizzy's crown and gently crowning him.

It does work more with his book characterization though so that's cool.

It's cute, it makes casual viewers go awww, but it's a bit inconsistent in the grand scheme of things.

I guess some people will interpret it as the softer spot Daemon has for the people he truly cares about, but knowing how he also treats them in other scenes...

Cough cough Rhaenyra choke scene cough cough.

I'm just left a bit confused.

Overall, I like it, but there's better.

2. Criston taking his Kingsguard vows.

God I wanted this to make the cut soo bad.

It's just that in the past I've already talked about how dirty Criston is done in the fandom, and I truly believe he deserves more screentime, he's a very interesting character.

So getting a scene like this would have been awesome, and by showcasing the pride and happiness Criston felt at achieving his dream thanks to Rhae, her eventual treatment of him would have hurt even worse.

Personally I'm not sure if it could have swung more people to feel for him and criticize Nyra, but it would have generally enriched his character and relationship with the princess and I would have looved it.

Only point against it is that it's probably one of the least important deleted scenes.

It sucks to say it, but I didn't really feel it's absence, you know?

If I had to cut a scene, I too would have chosen this one, but with a veery heavy heart.

Really solid idea though.

3. The Rhaenicent fight at the end of episode 2

Finally, we're moving onto Alicent related scenes.

And this... is my villain origin story.

I can't believe it was cut, wtf!

I get that maybe they wanted to stay loyal to the rule "show don't tell" cause it was already obvious that Rhae was mad at Alicent when she ran out of council meeting room after the announcement of her father's betrothal, but like... The possible angst!

Alicent crying, trying to explain the situation and appealing to their friendship to try and get Nyra to calm down while she screams at her and calls her names for not revealing the truth sooner, god this would have destroyed me even further!

The missed potential drives me insane, I would literally pay money to see how this scene was supposed to play out.

10/10

This awesome interaction would have also perfectly set up the hostility and tention that would characterize the next deleted gem...

4. Rhaenicent preparing for Ali's wedding

Godd, this is another one of those scenes that, in my humble opinion, should have stayed in the show.

Not only because of the possibility of more Rhaenicent angst to break my heart,(Yeess) but also because this is one of those scenes whose absence is really felt in the story for me.

We go from Ali and Viserys's betrothal to them being already married with a toddler and another baby on the way and even though I'm aware that hotd has a lot of time jumps, I do feel like we should at least have seen the wedding celebration before moving onto the future.

This event being glossed over really left a bad taste in my mouth.

9,5/10

I can just imagine the sad and awkward silence during that scene, poor girls.

5. Viserys testing Daemon regarding Aegon's prophecy

Soo, time to talk about the most incompetent targ king and his very problematic bro.

This scene had a loot of potential.

Apparently it was supposed to be about Viserys toying with the idea of revealing the Conquerer's prophecy to Daemon, but ultimately choosing not to after his brother showed little to no interest in what he was saying.

It would have been great to set up Daemyra's fight in the last episode

(honestly it would have been quite funny to see Daemon have a meltdown after hearing of the prophecy that he thinks his brother didn't trust him enough to tell him of, when he literally had the chance of knowing about it but threw it away lol)

And it also would have showcased how unfit Daemon is to rule, and given Viserys yet another reason to pick Rhaenyra as his heir over him.

9-/10

In conclusion:

Yes I know there are a lot more deleted scenes to discuss, but I really don't want this post to get too long, so I'm going to end it here.

Personally, I think all of these deleted scenes were good, and there genuinely wasn't a single one I would have hated to see on screen.

Sure, he had a few loyal fans maybe: fans who thought he was amazing and cool, but what the fuck did they know? They only knew John Q.  And they sure didn’t think he was an angel. Not that he wanted them to. He knew he was no angel, and he wasn’t aiming for being seen as one by anyone. That wouldn’t be very punk of him, right? Right. Fuck angels, anyway.

Simon is not sure who saved who, actually, so he just lets out a dry chuckle and swallows the lump in his throat as the tears he was holding back gently roll down his cheeks.

It’s a weird and holy feeling; being loved oh so much.

He doesn’t think he has been ever loved like this before; so truly, madly and deeply. Yeah he is quoting Savage Garden okay, sue him. Not even by his parents who were supposed to love him. Because that’s what parents did, he used to think. They would love and accept their kid. Well, apparently that was such bullshit.

Patty, on the other hand, loved him without trying to change him: she accepted him as a whole, loved him as a whole.

Being loved by her was a miracle. She was a miracle in his eyes.

Kind, funny, sweet, sexy, patient, honest, and just his-kind-of-crazy.

They were living together in their small but cozy apartment for the past seven months and nine days, and yet she never ceased to amaze him every single day.

He buries his nose in her soft hair and sighs.

“I’m sure you would figure something out by yourself to save yourself from that pathetic shit that you used to call ‘life’, eventually. You are punk as fuck and smart as hell, after all. I just… made the process go faster. Diamonds don’t stay hidden all their lives. They can’t. They find a way to shine sooner or later somehow.”

“I don’t remember allowing you to make this about me,” she complains and slightly pulls herself away to look at him. Seeing his tears makes her frown, but she doesn’t mention it or asks if he is okay. She leans her forehead against Simon’s instead, her thump caressing the side of his cheek as he closes his eyes in content. “But hey, at least you didn’t deny that you’re mine.”

“I don’t remember askin' for permission. Everything is about you for me now.”

‘There is no me without you anymore,’ he thinks.

“Is that so?”

“Hell yeah,” he nods. When he opens his eyes, Patty looks at him like he has given her the whole wide world. “You see that streetlight?” He points at the streetlight across the street from their window. “Even that is about you,” he whispers. “It helps me to see you better when you’re sleeping. Big fan of that one, I swear. Beautiful warm yellow. Maybe I should write a song about it later. And of fucking course I’m yours, music girlfriend. Always. Hell, I was yours before you even knew it.”

“Ew, babe, you’re sooo cheesy right now. You’re like, as cheesy as mac and cheese, even.”

That makes Simon laugh. Teach Patty a word and voilà, just watch her start using it all the time.

“I’m just fuckin' with you,” she laughs back. “And I’m yours, too, angel,” she adds as she starts pressing soft kisses on his body: first on his naked chest and then his collarbone, shoulder and jaw.

“This better not become a thing,” feeling his cheek heat a little, he mumbles, his hands wandering up and down her sides.

“What? Me calling you ‘angel’? How about… ‘Punk Angel’ ‘Angel of Punk? But nah, I think I love calling you just ‘angel’ more. Sorry not sorry,” she says with a cocky smile that suits her so much that Simon falls in love with her all over again.

He is utterly captivated by her and her affection.

“Did I ever tell you that your voice is as deep as an abyss that I wouldn’t mind falling into for the rest of my life, angel?”

That sounds like a promise somehow and Simon’s heart suddenly skips a beat. He hopes and wishes it’s a promise because he would give everything for Patty to stay by his side for the rest of his life.

It makes him feel selfish to want her that much even when he has her now, though. He cannot help but feel like one day she will realize she can do better than him and then decide to leave his sorry ass because God knows she deserves better.

Even imagining that makes him feel like dying so he tells his brain to stop thinking such things and focus on the moment they are in instead.

“And you call me cheesy. Oh God, you’re ridiculous.”

“Goddess, you mean, am I right or am I right?”

“Yeah yeah, whatever you say, you adorable and sexy Punk Goddess.”

Satisfied with his answer, she locks their lips together finally. Simon kisses her back like her lips are oxygen and he is a dying astronaut.

“Don’t be surprised if I steal your idea about that The Streetlight song,” Patty lets him know when they pull away eventually. “I think I can pull it off before Saturday and sing it for you at my concert.”

“I have no doubt you could,” holding her close, he yawns and agrees as she lies on his chest.

“Now hush, I gotta watch you sleep while the streetlight accompanies me.”

“Whaa— You creep.”

“What can I say? You’re my inspiration, angel. And don’t act like I don’t catch you watching me sleep nearly every morning.”

“Who? Me? You can prove nothing,” he denies.

“Uh-huh, sure. Sweet dreams.”

“Being with you is like a sweet dream anyway, I need nothing else.”

And with that, he let himself start falling into the warm embrace of sleep. At this point he cannot even remember how he used to sleep alone before he met her.

“He sleeps soundly by her side, without a care,

While she traces his features with a loving stare.

In the quiet of the night, they're alone,

With the streetlight as their silent chaperone,” just when he is about to fall asleep, he vaguely hears Patty singing quietly.

“Sweet streetlight, keep shining bright

As I watch my angel through the night.

Guide him with your gentle light,

In this moment, everything feels right.”

“Wow, you’re fast. That terribly sounds like a gospel for some reason though,” he makes an honest comment, ignoring the way how it made him feel warm inside despite it really sounding like a gospel.

“Shh, I’m just warming up, ignore it. Sleep.”

Simon chuckles and does as he is told after planting a kiss on her forehead and whispering: “I love you.”

“I love you, too, my angel,” is the last thing he hears before falling asleep with a slight smile on his face.

He thinks he can get used to that.

So back to thinking about how they have this weird thing happening at the grove. Like they have been training together but it’s never a planned thing they just keep going back to that spot at the same time every day, it’s a very unspoken thing of ‘you intrigue me and I’m hoping to learn more about you’

In my personal head cannon I imagine that Cal is just the sweetest, and also the cook of the family.

Now cut to Cal happily trotting off to him and Lea’zels spot with a covered pot of last nights leftovers. Lae’zel is unsure why he has started to bring them food for afterwards but it’s better than what Gale has been making so she happily devours the food. I like to imagine that after a while of him doing this she decides to give him something, like A new spear, well new to him. Just something she found and cleaned up and sharpened for him, she only did it because the old one was “faulty for his build” not because she really likes the way he smiles when she gives him a gift.

I also imagine that if she gets injured if any kind he is right by her side, never babying her because she doesn’t like that but he would have to put on the pants a bit and tell her to stop stretching herself so much. And if Cal gets hurt? You’re lucky she decides to just stay by his side for protection. Lia had to tell her Cal wouldn’t want the enemies head on a spike. Just keep him company…

After they get together at the end of everything (because I think Cal knows she is going through a lot so he’s not going to make any moves until things are settled) they finally get together, I can see Cal being so nervous to ask her to be his girlfriend and Lea’zel is just kinda like? Wtf is dating? And Cal just like well we hang out…and go on dates…and kiss…then Lea’zels just pulls him in for some hot kisses right then and is just very “there we are dating, now come back to my place and we can do more couple things” ghahha I know know Lea’zels is the demanding type and cal is so eager to please.

Later they have started dating Cal brings Lae’zel to the tower for dinner for the first time, I feel like Lae’zel is aware that family is important to him so she is trying her best to be ‘pleasant’ as possible. But her being pleasant is staring at Rolan and Lia from across the table as Cal talks about some stories of his day. Lia actually warms to Lae’zel quite quickly, she can respect Lae’zel dedication to a person and knows Cal will always be safe because Lae’zel will kill any and all who might hurt him. Rolan? I’m not too sure how he feels about the couple, he’s supportive but I think Lae’zel might make him nervous.

They give me he fell first and she fell harder kinda vibes.

When asked what Cal likes about her he will say one, he thinks she beautiful because hes just a sweetie and two he likes her strength and honesty. She isn’t scared to speak her mind and take charge, he likes a strong woman.

When asking lea’zel the same question she says that one it’s none of your business but two she admires his determination, no matter how much things go wrong or things seem to be hopeless Cal always has a smile and words of encouragement. Also she finds that after being around bloodshed and being told what to think and do it’s nice to have someone who can help her relax and want to know about things she truly feels and wants. He just melts her heart.

And I cannot stop thinking about how funny it would be if Rolan late one night gets up to get like a late night snack or something and him seeing Lea’zel in the kitchen chugging down water in one of cals shirts. Rolan is like speechless and Lea’zel just looks at him without a care going “evening, wizard.” Then taking back some fruit for a very worn out Cal.

Sorry if the thoughts are scrambled, I just love my crack ship and get excited when talking about them! I have more thoughts about them and some NSFW thoughts…maybe I should write a story? Or post something…let me know what you think….

Some observations about Buck coming out fic

so, I've thinking about the over 200 fics I've read in the past three weeks. so many of them have been wonderful and amazing and satisfied my poor obsessive heart, 9-1-1 is like, top 3 in my bookmarks rn. and the thing i love the most about all of them is how many different ways people have envisioned Buck coming out to the rest of his family.

cause all we have now for reference are Maddie and Eddie, right? one played a bit more humorful with jokes and quippy dialogue, and then one very serious (albeit, a bit rushed) coming out moment that clearly gives Buck some peace of mind. this is the only canon stuff we have to go off of.

so, we still don't know anything about how he'll come out to everyone else. with the Madney wedding and the seemingly three-week time skip (?), there's a lot of space to brainstorm about the circumstances and what he says to them, and how people react. it's like we're in a weird limbo of post-7x05, pre-7x06 where everyone is just taking the breadcrumbs of what we have and running with it. it's super fun to watch.

some of my favorite tropes that keep popping up: the classic pre-7x05 "Buck freaks out after the kiss and runs to Hen's house", the "telling everyone all at once at the firehouse", the "waiting until it's revealed kind of unintentionally at the wedding after nondescript chaos had occurred", or "someone clocks it when Tommy comes in to visit one day". Hen's reaction being like "omg welcome to the club" or possibly "you kissed WHO?!", Bobby being unsurprised and having a real Dad Moment™, Chim having a bit of a "wait wtf" or even getting more hung up Tommy is dating Buck, Athena giving Tommy the "you hurt him, i'll shoot you" talk, Josh LOSING it when he finds out Maddie's brother is dating a guy, everyone initially assuming the guy he kissed was Eddie.

it's such an interesting time because we have this framework from the end of the episode, and everyone is just playing around with different ways the conversations could happen. I think i've read like, eight different versions of Bobby being completely unphased by this revelation and i've loved all of them.

it's also probably a product of the fact that in actuality, 7x06 will be 70% Madney wedding drama; scenes with Chim being kidnapped (? or whatever), all hands on deck to find him, probably some karaoke flashbacks, hopefully a Tommy helicopter rescue scene, then the actual wedding happening at Bobby and Athena's house or something. so not much time for 5 minute long coming out scenes--i'm envisioning maybe stray comments in the whole 24 hours earlier they'll likely do leading up to Buck and Eddie waking up drunk, possibly have him sheepishly mention that his date to the wedding is Tommy. i think the worst thing they could do is have Buck telling everyone be off-camera.

so yeah, those are just some of my thoughts. my personal favorite version is Buck being like, "I'll tell everyone before the wedding!" so as to not make it a thing, Chim knowing he has a plus 1 and harassing him about who it is, Buck never getting around to it because he's still sort of awkward about the whole thing, then when Tommy airlifts Chim to his damn wedding, Buck just runs up and kisses him, and the whole 118 is like ???? it likely won't happen, but I adore that concept.

omg i do the same car crash watching thingy as your mom ^-^ so relieved i thought i was the only weirdo like that lol cant speak for your mom but it kinda helps me accept death in horrible accidents, like ive lost two ppl i cared about in car crashes. to a drunk driver during shitty weather (he lived. everyone else in both cars died but the drunk mf lived) and the second was caused by a 18 wheeler driver having a heart attack while driving. i stopped driving then bc i was too panicked every time i even looked at a car. but then there was a bad crash near where i lived and i walked there to check it out and it was obv horrible but also normal? like that kind of thing allows me to accept it as a part of life almost. but i always pray on the spot for the ppl hurt/dead there even tho im not religious, just seems disrespectful im using them as therapy 😖

the same thing happened to my momma i send you my condolences and im sorry that happened to people you love 🫶🏻💔 my mom lost her older brother when she was 18 yrs old to a drunk driver (who is still alive and completely fine and walks around our town like nothing ever happened). everybody else in the car was fine it was just him that passed away and if that happened to my brother i would be SO pissed and don't think i would ever get over it. the worst part is that it was his BIRTHDAY when it happened like wtf... for as weird as my mom is i have to give her credit she is very well adjusted for something like that happening to her so early on in her life. it feels like the fear of and obsession with car crashes is like written into my DNA because of it .... i always go with her to look hoping that it brings her peace or something. some insane things have also happened in my life with car crashes and while it was never anyone directly in my family it was some people i knew really closely so sometimes when i get weird about missing them i totally understand my mom's urge to go look. it definitely makes it easier to accept it as a part of life and in a way visiting the spot is almost like saying bye to the person in some way

Ok DFF finished and I’m mad

Started off so good, I was hooked. But that ending… 😒

Story was definitely interesting. The concept. The characters. All good. But the direction from possible supernatural, to whodunit, to a delve into the human mind kinda fell flat.

I guess it’s my fault for expecting something that just wasn’t gonna happen. I stopped my investigaytions when I realized what was happening. But it was still fun picking characters apart

Top. I dunno I thought there could’ve been more to his shitty actions. Thought he was secretly in love with Tee or White. Thought he was a secret agent for Tee’s uncle. Thought he would have some kind of secret. But nope.

Tee. Oh man there was a lot going on for this kid. I really went in liking him but when he started to manipulate Non I took a step back. I still felt bad for him for some reason. Then we find out more and how he and White met and started to pity him. Even his ending is just sad.

White. Poor Snow White did no harm. He came to play in the woods and had his heart stabbed. Finding out that someone you loved isn’t the person you thought they were hurts. Then having to go through all that stuff in the cabin ESPECIALLY when you didn’t even want to go? He really gave off final girl to me but in the end just an innocent bystander. Had he mustered up some courage though, ALOT of things could’ve gone differently.

Tan. Idk guys, manic is definitely a good look on this man. The irony of playing the older brother though. I think he may be first on the list of who had the most fucked up experience. Coming back home to your family like that. Leaving you all alone. Nothing but revenge on your mind.

Non. This guy really did a number on me. All he wanted was to make his movie. I don’t think he even really wanted friends. I think he just wanted to be needed. Cause if he wanted people around him who cares about him he would not have done that to Phee. I really didn’t think we’d get a character like that from Non. I thought he’d be painted as a troubled weirdo and that would be it. And to find out that was his fate? I really thought he’d just appear in the end. Or wake up somewhere in the forest. Also Mr. Keng too?

Jin. Omg did you guys see that hallucinoJin (😉) so much ass. Jin definitely has the most secrets out of the group. The rawness of it all. Boy is obsessed. I’m glad that he confessed what he did to Non and why he did it. I was afraid that would be swept under the rug or suffer a premature conversation interruption. Also there’s something kinda nice about falling in love with your crush’s boyfriend. Like you both loved the same guy. That’s not weird right? I mean sure but it’s like poetic weird right? Ironic? Am I using that right?

Phee. Boy. Like. What? He was soooo in love and so hurt. He helped Non and was betrayed. He had every right to feel the way he did. And still he. Blamed himself. His hallucinations showed Non dying in multiple ways. All suicidal. And him not being able to save him no matter how many times he tried to. Sorry I’m still standing by JinxPhee. Need them in like a gay killers sort of project

(Dead) End. Ok so I’m wtf. Like that was so unnecessary. It made no sense really. Everyone was drugged and Tan placed weapons all next to them to which they ended things. Now Fluke. Top and Por I had already lost all hope for, for a long time. Tee and Phee was up in the air, so were White and Jin. I ultimately thought Jin would be the last one standing or atleast one. He felt very main character out of the main characters. And I thought the film’s end with him being the only one that made it out the house was foreshadowing. White being as submissive as he was I thought he’d power up in the end at the critical moment. But when it turned out to be Tee. I thought Tee would pull a Romeo and Juliet. So now this two year jump confused me.

I was already thinking why none of them are in jail and why we don’t see the aftermath of Jin’s hand. And why would Tee just be at home

Phee pulling the “maybe we never left” card got me so upset. Because why. Was the drugs actually poisonous? Did they all consume too much? Why are Jin and Phee connected and with Tee? Was the antidote actually fake? Phee told Jin to wait for him while he went back for Tee. So was Phee “waking” from his hallucinations actually not him waking up? Because I questioned why the smoke wasn’t affecting him after he woke up. And then we hear the puff. For all we know there was never an antidote

I just wished they gave us a bit more than a shot of the house for an ending. Like the ambiguity wasn’t needed. Just say they all died and show all the bodies.

A Cure For Love has become an obsession!!!! I DONT LIKE M/M FANFICTION ESPECUALLY NARUSASU BUT I CANT PUT THIS STORY DOWN!!!! Omg, how the hell did you get me into this???! It should be illegal to be this creative and good at writing! Who said you could write like this???! I actually like SasuNaru now 😭 and Hinata as a badass witch! She bodied a werewolf, vampire and fury all at the same time, omfg she's so awesome!! I cannot wait for the trio between the three of them!! How will those three come together? Sasuke and Hinata are connected through Sasuke's bite now, but what about Naruto? How will he find himself wrapped up in the witch he despises! I need to know!!!! Thats another thing you got me into! Throuples!!! I can totally see NaruHinaSasu as a loving trio, and I love that you don't want make them like obsessed over Hinata only, or have one person left out of the relationship, you adore NaruHina but you also care about SasuHina and NaruSasu. The love will be spread equal and I sooooo love that! I see it already in your Sims 4 posts!! They all love each other, no one is left out, and everyone loves the children no matter who the father is!

I LOVE Butterfly like you have no idea 😭I know people are not liking Naruto's actions right now, neither do I, but i like that you've wrote him being able to do something like that to precious Hina, your not going soft route and making him too nice or too accomadating, it really feels like he doesn't know her at all, which he doesnt! it's easy to hurt and use people you don't know and he's a prime example of that. He's not out to be malicious, but he's careless with her feelings because he doesn't KNOW her at all. People seem to shy away from making a character that flawed but you lean into and I love it! Naruto is setting himselg up for a WORLD of hurt, I can see it already! Knowing you dont' do sad endings, I can safely enjoy this angst and heartache!!

Monster is my heart!!!!! The Boruto series should have gone this route because the plot for the Otsutsuki is out of this world!! It adds so much tension and suspense, and the lovey dovey moments with NaruHina are like a drug I can't stop doing! I'm scared now though! Ino got those worm root things poured into her mouth by Shino and things are getting really weird and I know you warned us that angst is coming (again I'm gonna enjoy it since you don't do sad endings) but now I'm petrified because Hinata has been acting weird all the way up to this point, and I think whatever was done to her by Toneri is about to come fruition! I'm scared for her and for Naruto! That book is an amazing balance of horror, smut, love and angst!!

I'm DYING for more Prey 😭 I love me a dark fic and Naruto is stone cold crazy af and I love ittttttt! I want to see the meeting between him and the woman he's been stalking, his future baby mama, Hinata! How will she deal with his brand of crazy??? Who is Danzo and why is Naruto working with him??? How did Naruto become a killer like that????! I mean I know he was crazy as a teen and he's killed before but now its like his job??! How, what happened?? I needs to know!! And poor Sasuke 😭😭😭😭😭Naruto is a HANDFUL for him to have to deal with all the time!!

My break is just about over, sorry about the long wait! My stories have been calling me, especially my throuples thanks to my Sims 4 game 🤭I'm even more convinced now that a NaruHinaSasu dynamic is a special, beautiful dynamic and I cannot wait to finish my other throuple fics as well as add more. I'm very happy you enjoy all my stories to such an extent 😭I work pretty hard on them and am glad that I can create stories that can push a person from their comfort zone and still have them content in a new, unexplored territory! A Cure For Love was my first attempt at M/M action and people seem to enjoy it, shockingly, quite a few people that don't like M/M either but love the story regardless are REALLY into this story😵‍💫 and that still blows my mind! It's nice to see more people coming on board the MMF ship! 🤭It's really diverse in here. There's SasuNaru fans willing to give those two with Hinata a try, there's SasuHina fans willing to make room for Naruto, there's NaruHina fans willing to open their hearts to Sasuke, I love the vibe of that story so much. The community is so nice and amazing!

I'm glad I could change your perspective on Sasuke, he really gets way too much hate and not enough understanding/compassion in my opinion. I've gone through deaths of loved ones before, and that shit eats you up inside, it's like a lifetime disease that chips away at you non-stop, I could not imagine going through it to his extent, I'd lose my damn mind too. Idc what no one says, I love Sasuke and my heart goes out to him 100% and I don't say that lightly. I adore Naruto, and Sasuke shouldn't have put him through what he did, but I also am of the mind of Naruto. Sasuke needed help. He was self destructive and losing himself, and I'm glad Naruto could see that and help him. I wish I had a Naruto, I swear.

I love flawed characters like Naruto in Butterfly. You're right that there's gonna be some heavy angst, but as I said, I don't do sad ends, but I do want to hurt your heart 😇enjoy the pain, you've got three books of it coming up.

Don't even get me started on everything wrong with Boruto 🤦🏾‍♀️such lazy writing imo. It's like they skimmed through Naruto and Shippuden rather than watched it fully. That series is not canon to me, never will be. Monster is my horror baby, and you're right, it's about to get wayyyyy worse. Prepare yourself is all i can say.

My heart aches for Charlie Swan. That guy did not deserve the shit he's been through.

He married his dream pixie girl but turned out she was too manic for his small calm town and left him for more sunny thrilling places, taking his daughter with her. He sees her for the summer, sometimes, when her mother doesn't run out of money for plane tickets or he manages to save enough to pay for it from his small town sheriff's salary. So not nearly often enough to efficiently bond with her and parent her but, you know, he makes it work. As a teen she can't be bothered to come anymore, and stays with her bipolar ass mother who takes her on trips all over the country. He's too boring. Until said bipolar ass mother leaves her behind for a three years long honeymoon with her way less boring new husband, and sends her to him and his rainy small town, and to try to fix what was never quite a father-daughter relationship.

So she comes in. She's in high school and teenagers are hard especially when you don't know them well and you're afraid she's gonna get abandonement issues from her crazy selfish mother, but she doesn't seem to care, and she's pretty apathetic at his attempt to talk or bond. She is so depressed and he wishes he had the chance to be there before it got this bad. He kinda hopes his boring small town is going to give her stability and grounding and she can start to heal.

At first the bored teens in her school are interested by her because she's new and she doesn't struggle to make friends with the normal, well behaved teenagers who are not going to get her into trouble and will look after her and it's great ! It's a relief !

But then she starts hanging with the strange kid that makes him so uncomfortable, and by extension his cult like family of weird ass outcasts that creep you out. You don't like it but you're trying to respect her choices. She's a straight A student and smart and she probably knows better than to get into trouble like that. You hope. But one night she's super late and you start to really worry but again you try really hard not to push her and be overbearing but you're starting to wonder if you should instate more strict rules, if it's your duty as a parent and all. And when she comes back she's yelling at her boyfriend, like he did something awful and god did he hurt her ?!? She is packing her bag and wtf is she leaving ? You try to stop her because she's 18 and he can't let her leave this is so not okay he won't let her be homeless over a break up ! But you also realize she's legally an adult and you can't really do anything so you watch her leave and you're so in over your head and you ask yourself what you did wrong and you wonder what you ever did right and you want to cry. Within three days, you get a call that she's in the hospital, she fell down stairs and she has broken bones and shattered glass wounds and of course her mother didn't even answer the phone when they called her, and you're so terrified. You go there and when you see her, the weird ass (ex-) boyfriend is sleeping on her bedside and you beg her not to do this to him again. She agrees but you're never quite sure she means it.

Things are better after that. She's still dating the creep, and she's really really intense about it, and his cult is totally grooming her so he urges her to keep seeing her other, normal friends and not get completely brainwashed by the cult but she's stubborn and there isn't much you can do. You're pretty sure they're sleeping together and you hope her mother gave her The Talk but maybe you should ?

And then, couple of days after her birthday that she was actually a little excited for, for once, Creepy Boyfriend straight up leaves her and disappear and after a whole night of calling everyone you know to search for her, you find her in the woods, laying down unresponsive, probably been there for hours. You put two and two together and Creepy Boyfriend broke up with her. And it's better than their last break up because she's not in an hospital bed in Arizona but only barely. Because she's so depressed she's catatonic and she doesn't speak, she barely eats and won't interact with anyone anymore unless prompted and you're so terrified again. And of course as usual your ex wife is spectacularly useless and absent.

You finally get her to go out and be with friends again and she starts hanging out with your best friend's son and you are so relieved. He has a crush on her and she has a crazy edge to her but at that point anything is better than apathy. A couple of times she comes back with scratches and wounds but you know it's not the kid, he wouldn't hurt her, and she looks happier so you let it slide.

And then your best friend dies and you're devastated, your whole world falls appart. But your daughter is not here. You are not sure where she is, but it's not with you at the funeral of your best friend. And then guess what. She disappears for days again, taking a plane to fucking italy out of nowhere and without saying anything to him. When you see Jacob, who just buried his father, you see him upset that she left without a care for him and like come on. She was making so much progress. Somehow you string together that she went there to be with Creepy Boyfriend and this is so wrong.

She comes back and guess what, they're back together and as intense and toxic as ever and you're at lost at what to do so you start strict rules about how much time she's allowed to spend with him but you're pretty sure he's sneaking into her room at night and you start to think it'd be easier to just kill the guy to spare your daughter's pain. You so want to help but to hell if you know how by then. You encourage her to spend time with Jacob instead of CB but even him starts to act fishy and you're so out of your depth and what did you do to deserve this ? Somehow they get engaged and this is the end of what you're allowed to say or do about her life and you lost her. When you give her away at her wedding you know you're really giving her away, because she's getting into the cult and you may never see her again, but you'll never see her the same again anyhow. You try to support her and be happy for her. Her mother shows up and she's more manic than ever and so excited for her daughter's wedding that she doesn't notice how bad the situation is, and it's not like she ever listened to you. Your daughter does go away for her long honeymoon and man she got married at 19 right after graduation and at least you got her to finish high school but you realize she'll never go to college or get a job to be independant she'll stay in the cult because they're rich and all. This is really bad but there is nothing you can do, apparently. When she comes back from the honeymoon she refuses to let her see her or contact her at all for months and this is so bad the brainwashing has definitely started taking hold and you just want to cry. You try to get Jacob to get her out of it, he's her friend she might listen to him. And then it turns out Jacob is a fucking werewolf and you're so not paid enough for this. He starts insinuating Bella is like him and what the fucking fuck he would have known if he raised a werewolf. But when you do see her after that she looks so different and hard and cold and she had a fucking creepy baby on her hip that is definitely CB's baby. How long has she been pregnant when they got married ?? And you must have failed at parenting so bad because she's 19, married into a cult and already a mother and she hangs out with werewolves on top of it all.

And just. You're a good person. You thought you were a good parent, before. You did not deserve this.
