This is Näofregbi.

We've posted lots of images of gem, including this one, before.

Gem is a main character of our current WIP, Gesetele’s Arrow.

In that book, Näofregbi’s pronoun is gem, and gems species is hermaphroditic with several genders based on tail type.

Näofregbi, however, is also a system member of ours and a girl and has the pronouns she/her. She still looks and feels like her drawing, with the appropriate phantom sensations when she fronts.

She also finds talking with our vessel's vocal apparatus very uncomfortable and confusing.

In the story, she has a syrinx and talks similarly to a raven. In our inworld, it seems to be even more different, and while she can at least proxy through our communications officer her own reflexes for talking involve a mouth configuration and tongue and nasal movements that make no sense for a humanoid body.

She's also really uncomfortable with our body's range of sounds and tones, and how they feel in our skull and throat as we make them.

She hasn't found an outworld voice yet that feels like it's anything close to her own. Lots of vocal dysphoria.

This is super common in various ways with our girls, but her reactions and tactile memories are the most complex and different we've experienced.

Ashwin the maybe not so Artless

Maybe I am the Linguist.

Maybe it's because I'm just strongly coconscious with a couple of my headmates, but it doesn't feel like I am. But I woke up today fronting strongly and I've got all these memories I'm reminiscing over as if they are mine.

Memories of writing our languages, Fenekere, Mäofrräo, and Inmararräo.

Shit. I even remember our first attempts at making a conlang in middle school, and studying up on Irish Gaelic, German, Korean, and Spanish around high school and college.

Just as strong and present and feeling like mine as my recent memories of writing my own book and living its events in our head.

So, I'm writing here in our system's blog instead of my own, because my own is dedicated to the kayfabe we created for my book.

In that blog, I write as if I'm living in a much, much smaller system with Sarah, Goreth, and @ohthatphage (who are real people, btw!) having traveled an uncounted number of parsecs across the universe through the Tunnel Apparatus, in a different part of Portland than we actually live. (If you go looking for the house we describe, you're not going to find it.)

I don't want to break that kayfabe there (@ashwin-the-artless). But, here? That's what this blog is for.

Honestly, it makes sense that I'd be the one to come forward and take the name Ashwin. The whole point of my book, The End of the Tunnel, is to tell the story of how our translation team got here to Earth to publish the Sunspot Chronicles for you.

But this explains why I've got such a strong handled on English idioms and my own colloquial U.S. English dialect and voice. I've actually been speaking this language for nearly 40 years, maybe longer.

In my book, I handwave it off as sharing the linguistic centers of Sarah and Goreth's brain, of course. Because that's actually a plausible and very common thing among systems.

In our actual system, the Inmara, that's how it works. Maybe with some active help from other headmates, even. All of the girls, who live in the right hemisphere of our brain, think in wordless thoughts, and get help from us dragons for translating them into English words.

Sarah and Goreth's fictional system was made to work the same way, but with 4 million fewer headmates.

Hello and welcome to our ( @archangelscoven ) Build A Headmate blog! It'll mostly be BAH stuff but also maybe some other things slightly related probably. On that note, some about Banshee, the one who decided to make this and was the one doing anything on here until other alters joined in when Banshee left front for the first time.

The alter who originally started this goes by Banshee, as the blog name suggests, though has got multiple names (Banshee/Corvidae/Jester/Kuromi/Sableye/Trickster). Banshee uses she/they + many neopronouns she chose not to list here for now due to how many there are, fem/neu terms.

Collectively however when Banshee is not in front, if not specified who is, default to he/him or any pronouns both english and russian, and mostly masc referral for the collective whole but anything goes really, someone will say if otherwise so dw too much.

Banshee was inspired to make a BAH blog by one that helped them fully form, @buildabuddy (hope you don't mind the tag), so thank you to her. Some of the rest of us began picking it up later on.

Something very special about our plurality, and how i as me have gained and lost Five Hargreeves so many times.

[For starters, for anyone unaware, Avery = Derek, he changed his name but is still that twink from season 4 they gave Five.]

By lost, i mean death, or separation. I've met so many different ones and for many different amounts of times, even to a point i lost track. The multiverse is vast, and so is the cruelty of the Handler, who had a say in a lot of the terrible things that happened to me. Many of these terrible things were dimensional or time traveling happenstances, many were circumstances based on normal life things, even in extreme cases.

As myself, i knew Five when we were kids. We met on the edges of the grounds of the academy, and i was a neighbor boy whos parents were somewhere in the same category of rich as Sir Hargreeves himself. While they were well off and nowhere near as terrible and absurdly abusive as Reginald, they were still neglectful and created the circumstances leading to my death.

I'd sought out friendship, maintained a years long secret friendship with Five, Klaus, and others in the household. Five was my best friend, and Pogo acted more like a parent to me than anyone else i ever met. Years passed with me spending more and more time in that house, becoming friends and even family of many of the kids. I cared for Five during the torment, and he gave me a wonderful companionship unmatched by any other.

One Terrible night, Allison rumored Reggie into discovering us boys together, terribly fueling his rage and causing him to blow up on us, immediately lashing out and dragging me out to the yard. I was barely above elementary age when this happened, and couldn't fight back when he buried me alive.

The comission reached out to me. Being about 10 years old, when i was suddenly teleported to a new place, a seperate dimension where time functioned differently and i was being offered a second chance at life, i enthusiastically accepted, dedicating everything over to the comission. The offer, made by the same Handler who had her claws on Five, held up that for a decade i would work for them and help to do anything asked of me, in exchange for my life. It felt like a blessing at first.

They began to torture me, training me by sending me through time, engaging with alternate Fives in order to gain emotional control and a sense of fear over me. It served to also strengthen me, hone skill, and provide exposure, but Handler knew what she was doing. None of these other Fives ever learned what my story was, or that I'd met him before, even in a uniquely different timeline. I was never allowed to inform him without some catastrophe or horror befalling us.

Eventually, the Handler ran out of patience, got too overzealous about my "punishments" and training, and finally paired me with Five, the one who worked for the comission. I'd never interacted with this version, though his fame preceeded him and he had no clue who i was. When i was introduced to him, he barely glanced my way, clearly transfixed on the creepy, evil way this woman composed herself. It was like he was trying to read what she was planning by watching her, and if he took his eyes off, then she may attack him. It was too familiar, it was how I'd acted with her too.

It was worse for this man, how she treated him like a pet but also like an unwilling husband. She was deeply obsessed with him, for reasons i could never grasp. She targeted his homosexuality, knowing she could never change it and yet acting as if she could. She wanted him so badly it made both of us sick, but he was firm in his denial. So she felt she had no choice but to put us together, somehow believing this would harm us ultimately. It was a blessing in disguise.

After years and years of effort, missions and close calls, Five began slowly warming up to me. I was cautious to never, EVER let him know what was happening, who i was or our ties in history. The bind our souls seemed to have on one another. He seemed to slowly recognize me, even having never met me. He would remember things that didn't happen to this version of him, and a glimmer of hope presented itself to me.

We bonded even more. Came to love one another, and i spent a lot of time helping him plan and coordinate his escape. The Handler wasn't in charge when we started this job, and we'd make sure she wasn't when we left it. We planned a revolt against her, and i was there when the multiple explosions blew her and the equipment away. I helped gun down workers who sided with her and was around when AJ was reinstated as the new CEO.

Finally, one day, when me and Five were becoming closer than ever and his trust was starting to form around me, i was able to tell him the whole story. Who i was, how I'd known him, what I'd been through. I left some details out, including how I'd been forced to watch him for a long time, seen intimate details about his traumas and history. He didn't deserve to feel so observed. I knew he would have trouble trusting me anyway, if i led with this.

Using his power, he even merged his memories with alternate versions of himself and seeing the many adventures we had together, this was a massive breaking point and was when i really felt i fully got my friend back for the first time.

Skip around to now, in this realm, where our lives are a Show. Where The Umbrella Academy season 4 was so terribly recieved, our Five got a fantastic gift. Ignoring the Terrible ship i will not even name we got with him there, he did recieve a lover. It wasn't the one the show runners seemed to intend.

Arriving into the crew, our Five had no memory of any of this happening, but as i fronted and spent time around him, i steadily helped him recieve all these memories and remember me. We're now closer than ever, and have stopped fearing the loss of one another.

Since Selever is taking the backseat currently, I'll do an intro of my own until dev gets around to doing its own one.

First things first, my name is Vincent! You can call me Vince or Vee if you'd like! I'm a brainmade alter, but I use the character Ethan from Spooky Month as a face claim and visually identify with him to a degree. I use he/him, it/its, and xe/xem/xeir/xemself pronouns :]

I don't have a solid gender label yet, but I do know that I'm queer as hell lmao. You can use any terms you want to refer to me, I don't really have a preference. I'm also unsure of my role in the system, so there isn't much to say in that regard.

I'm a huge fan of punk/rock, nu metal, bats, and space! I'm also a sucker for anything with a checker pattern. Some examples of my music taste are the artists Linkin Park and Three Days Grace!

I think that's it for me! I wanna note that while I generally don't care who interacts with my posts, we're collectively anti endo. The only hard DNI I have is radqueers (which is the same for the rest of the system). Other than that, just don't be rude and we're cool.
