꒰ MILES MORALES ꒱
Ꮺ miles’ music taste would be a vast range of rnb, trap, hip hop, jazz, spanish, and any and everything connecting to his culture and he’s not picky with what to listen to tbh
Ꮺ I don’t believe miles has a favorite genre or set standard of what he listens to, it just genuinely depends on what his mood is or what he has on repeat at the moment. generally, it’s a song that he found from tiktok or a leaked song that he found on soundcloud. speaking of, miles has no shame using soundcloud as a streaming service
Ꮺ but miles does have a set genre for each part of his day or whatever activity he is doing. If he’s getting ready and on his way to school, some 90s rnb or 90s hip hop; when doing homework, he plays jazz music or some chill spanish music; during his drawing time, he’ll put on some chill trap music or try to find an album that connects with what he wants to draw
Ꮺ miles is very open-minded to his music taste so he’s not really one to say no to a specific genre. now there were definitely some albums he wasn’t a fan of, but he will explore the artist of that album. he usually gives artists another try, even if their recommended album wasn’t the…best
Ꮺ miles is definitely one to collect vinyls, especially old-school ones, he has them plastered around his room and some sitting in a bin. jeff gifted him a record player so the vinyls wouldn’t be collecting dust and so that they could both enjoy the music on jeff’s off days
Ꮺ miles has a playlist for like…everything, and I mean everything. he has a drawing playlist, a spiderman playlist, a playlist for gwen (don’t tell anyone), a playlist for when he’s overthinking, a playlist to change clothes, a playlist to brush his teeth, even playlists for his favorite tv shows. listen, this boy is very much so obsessed with music
Ꮺ he shares his love of music with his parents as well! I do believe rio is more open to his music suggestions than jeff. however, jeff can be more open to mile’s favorite artists, it will take him a while though. whenever it’s a quiet moment in the morales home, they let music play as the day goes
꒰ GWEN STACY ꒱
Ꮺ I do believe gwen is less open to music suggestions than miles is. like miles is very expressive with music while gwen isn’t
Ꮺ on a day-to-day basis, gwen plays 90s rock music or 2000s pop punk. she doesn’t really go by her emotions, but more like whatever song is stuck in her head at the moment
Ꮺ I believe that gwen was a major pop girl and was very in tune with the pop girls of her early ages, but later shifted into the punk/rock category. a couple of avril lavigne songs and that girl is screaming teen angst at 4 a.m
Ꮺ also gwen has a heavy liking for indie/alt music ! she likes her underground artists or artists that can combine other genres easily. she also has a love for artists like tv girl, girl in red, and frank ocean
Ꮺ technically, gwen would explore the sub-genres of punk and rock but doesn’t dwell for too long. She doesn’t mind heavy metals but prefers not to listen to them all the time, wouldn’t wanna shatter her eardrums since she’s spider woman
Ꮺ she also listened to a lotttt of female artists and female groups, and she’s a huge fan of girl groups! but I think she’s more into the older groups like spice girls, pussycat dolls, etc. I do think she would be into kpop girl groups and would be into ones that make like bubblegum pop or “noise music”
Ꮺ she has certain artists that she can never get tired of and also some artists that she prefers that no one knows she listens to
꒰ HOBIE BROWN ꒱
Ꮺ now hobie is all around when it comes to music, he’s just about on the same level as miles tbh
Ꮺ hobie isn’t embarrassed about any genre that he listens to. so yes, he doesn’t mind getting laughed at for liking country music
Ꮺ now hobie is very big on music that was pioneered by black people, which makes him love genres like country and rock even more. he can never get over how much music is curated by, and usually for, black folks
Ꮺ now hobie is always gonna give his flowers to artists that he loves and shouts them out in interviews or moments when he’s caught on camera. also, whenever he’s asked what’s his favorite song at the moment, it never stays the same omg- one day he says alex isley and the next he says smino
Ꮺ on a daily, hobie listens to whatever he’s vibing out to at the moment. If he just finished a concert, of course he’s gonna keep the mood going and have rock playing; on a lazy day, some new school rnb; on the days of being spiderpunk, some trap music mixed with some old school hip hop; wash days would include jazz, indie/alt, and some rnb (old school and new school)
Ꮺ hobie has a playlist of recommendations for almost every important person in his life. he loves music and it makes his heart happy when he can share his love of music with others or enjoy watching people enjoy what he listens to
Tumblr media
♡⃕ this been sitting in my drafts and somehow got the energy to write it ;p
♡⃕ I do love music and this is lowkey me just projecting my love for music onto one of my fav movies…anyways !
♡⃕ if you have more hcs on this, lemme know !

Oh my hey! Please, if you haven't already, please, could you do if you haven't please do favorite singer and song of the sdv bachelor/ettes
Oh, this is the first time I've posted an ask about a topic like this, so I hope I did it right. Thanks for the question, and have a great day! 🫰💕

SDV bachelors:
Harvey's radio will always play Louis Daniel Armstrong or Ella Jane Fitzgerald because the doctor loves listening to jazz. If he wants something more energetic, Harvey will switch to the Latin music radio channel. He's sure to start dancing in the kitchen when Pete Rodríguez's "I Like It Like That" comes on. With music like that, cooking dinner becomes more interesting and fun.
It may sound pretty cliche, but Alex will definitely have a workout playlist with songs from the 80s rock and roll, pop rock and metal genres. Stan Bush ("Touch", "Fight for survive", "Never surrender"), Paul Engemann ("Push it to the limit, "The Eagle Lands"), Survivor ("Eye of Tiger"), Judas Priest ("All guns blazing", "The Sentinel") would be his favorites.
I'm sure Sebastian will be a fan of alternative rock (Nirvana - "Smell like teen spirit" and "Lithium"), emo-core (Taking back Sunday - "Cute without an "E") and electronic rock (almost all Celldweller albums, his favourite album is "Wish upon a Blackstar"). I also think that Sebby often likes to enjoy breakcore, not really remembering the specific artists and listening to whatever he likes. This is how I imagine Sebastian trying to explain to his mom what breakcore is (Warning: loud).
It's quite difficult with Sam because he's a real melomaniac. He listens to absolutely everything and almost all the time. Depending on his mood, he can listen to both heavy metal and pop music. However, the most frequently played bands in his music player are definitely the Beatles (his two favourite albums are "Help" and "Yellow submarine"), Coldplay ("Yellow") and Arctic Monkeys (the album"AM"). And also any popular song that gets stuck in his head (California girls we're unforgettable, daisy dukes bikini on top-).
Classics for Elliott! Our dear writer - and without masterpieces of classical music? Unthinkable! Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Grieg, Debussy - all either playing in his little radio on the table, or the writer himself sits down at his piano and plays music by famous composers. He also loves modern classical music, and sometimes light jazz.
Shane listens to rock and heavy metal like Metallica, Ramstein, AC/DC all the time and you won't change my mind (I'll fight for that headcanon). I like to think he just lies on his bed, turns on his music player and plays the loudest heavy rock you can imagine in his headphones. One of his favourite songs that he listens to all the time is "For whom the bell tolls" (Metallica).
SDV bachelorettes:
Actually, I always thought that Maru would like synthwave and retrowave genre. I don't know why, but it would be just her style to include a playlist with synthwave artists (all Home songs, especially "Resonance" and "Head first"). If this genre is a too calm and the young inventor wants something a bit more energetic, her choice would be Daft Punk (Around the world, around the woooooooooooooorld!) or Disclosure ("Grab her" and "Omen" are her favorite songs).
Abigail's choices are quite chaotic. One moment she can listen to dark electro (Owl vision - "Horus" and "Holy shit"), and the next moment the amethyst lover admires folk music and promises herself that she will also learn to play the flute (Percival Schuttenbach - almost all songs, but especially "Karanfilce" and "Lazare", as well as Sowulo - the whole album "Sol"). She is also a lover of video game soundtracks and dark ambient. As I said before, pretty chaotic music taste.
All the popular pop, dance-pop and R&B you can think of - that's what Haley's playlist is. Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Britney Spears.... Haley doesn't have a particular favourite song, she likes everything. In the evening she likes to listen to the same pop and dance music songs, but in slowed down version + reverb.
Emily just can't live without energetic dance music. She could probably compete with Sam for the title of Starview Valley's music lover. And the genres can be diverse: from electro-swing (Caravan Palace) to Latin music (don't play Kaoma - "Lambada" in front of her, otherwise she will drag you to dance), from RnB (Beyoncé) to disco (Bee Gees).
When classical music is played, Penny falls into a melancholic mood. She is particularly affected by Claude Debussy's cycle of six piano pieces "Children's Corner", and she loves to listen to the piano version and the orchestra version equally. Besides classics, the young teacher also likes to listen to Enya (she always sheds tears when she listens to "May it be" or "Aniron"). But Penny will shed real rivers of tears if she hears the soundtrack from Titanic (especially "Hymn to the Sea").
If you ask Leah about her favourite music, the artist will name you a few groups of indie music and alternative music. After all, those are her favourite genres. In her free time, she sometimes likes to relax listening to Slenderbodies (especially "Belong" and "Opal ocean"), or Glass Animals (she can listen to the whole "Zaba" album all day long and she won't get bored). Leah also loves listening to songs by the indie duo King of Convenience (especially "Mrs Cold").

Hey there. Since ace tav is a bard, just wondering if you have thoughts on the camps musical tastes/requests for her to play?
Hmm, I gotta think about this.
To start Ace!Tav loves taking requests. If they're been traveling for a while and somebody requests a song, they're more than happy to oblige. It makes them feel needed. If they can be just a little useful to their new companions they're going to take it.
As for Tav's personal taste in music, it's rather eclectic. All the music they've learned has been from what they've heard on the road from other bards. Probably a lot of folk music, and whatever the Faerun equivalent is to country, rock and roll, and the top 100. And, honestly, throw some jazz, soul and rap in there as well.
I don't think they're particularly judgemental when it comes to music taste. Music is everything to them. It's how they're able to express themselves and convey emotions they can't always articulate. Whatever music speaks to a person is good music.
As for the rest of the companions, here's their music taste based on ✨vibes✨.
Tumblr media
Lae'zel: Would probably say she doesn't like/listen to music. However, if you introduce her to heavy metal, she's going to head bang with the best of them.
Tumblr media
Karlach: Punk, all the way. Get that woman into a mosh pit.
Tumblr media
Shadowheart: Late 90s/early 2000s nu metal and the emo scene in general. Yes, I've heard the jokes and I'm sticking to them.
Tumblr media
Gale: Your dad's 1970s playlist. Is genuinely surprised whenever anybody 10 years younger than him had heard of Fleetwood Mac. Definitely loves the Beatles.
Tumblr media
Wyll: Honestly the only one who sincerely enjoys classical music. Deceptively a bit of a music snob. Will go on about how some obscure soul album defined a generation. However, still enjoys the radio hits and anything romantic you can dance to.
Tumblr media
Astarion: Genuinely hasn't put much thought into music before meeting Tav. Likes what he likes, and has a difficult time articulating exactly what that is. Some classic pieces. That one song he heard in a tavern once a hundred years ago. Some angry rock and roll. Some sad boy playlist. And a good scattering of who ever is Baldur's Gate's equivalent of Megan Thee Stalion or Dua Lipa. Bottom line his playlist is a goddamn mess.

Would K&K bother to date an s/o with multiple childhood traumas that are seeing daylight whenever someone does something that reminds the s/o of what happened in the past?
Yes, they’d have small panic attacks, yes they’d cry often (meaning once in a few days), of course they’re going to be touch starved but also fearful of it at the same time… a hard nut to crack indeed.
Would they grow tired of s/o behaviour?
I've said before, and I'll say again, I think that the Punk Victoria is a ship that is built for people with traumas and triggers - which sounds wild when you consider the reputation the Kid Pirates have for being ruthless.
But the crew they have isn't that way to one another - even if they show no mercy to outsiders (and I still have to wonder how much of Kid's cruelty is propaganda, because if anything is consistent in the OP world, it's that the marines and government lie about a LOT of pirate crews).
It might be tough love some days, it might be bellowing fights - this isn't a crew of therapists (even if they could all use one), so it's not going to be perfect, but it is going to work.
There's no where else for most of these folks to go, and they're not going to toss someone off the ship just because they have traumas.
So no, I don't think they'd grow tired of a traumatized reader who has heavy anxiety and uncontrolled panic attacks. I think they'd do everything they could do help, and go from there.
Also, anon, I don't really know what to say. I hope you're in a safe space, I hope if you need help you can get it - if you can't afford it I hope you have friends to hold you up. Even if you're limping from one day to the next I hope you find people who don't "get tired" of you.
It's just, this ask on the heels of the one before, has me worried about y'all. They're really specific asks, and I'm HAPPY and WILLING and completely OKAY with answering them I swear.
No one is bothering me with these, I'm not getting tired of them - I'm just a little worried.
And look, no matter what my head canons are for a person or crew, if you need to find comfort in them, then that comfort exists. That's fucking law, you hear me? Over ANYONE else's canon/fanon/whatever. If you think "Would Kid love me?" the answer is yes.
All your flaws, all your traumas, all your coping mechanisms, poor or good or whatever - he's gonna ride or die with you.
It's not something everyone can do. Sometimes it takes years to find someone who even understands. Sometimes you lose friends - and trust me people lose friends even when they don't have traumas - friends come and go as a part of life. It's rarely ever anyone's fault.
We all just vibe with what we vibe with and we can't help that most of the time.
But you'll find someone who can tank your shit, and you'll find someone who listens, and baby if you put in as much effort as them you're gonna find yourself going longer and longer between those fits and it's gonna get better. And people will stop making you feel like YOU are the exhausting one, when you're spending your whole damn day exhausted.
hang in there, friends.

you and your boyfriend are new to the town you've moved into, making a new home after deciding that dealing with your family's toxic dynamics was not worth anymore of your time. you needed a new start, a better home, and a different life. a cute two bedroom house is all yours, a little garden in the back along with a pristine picket fence that you adore.
the neighbors are quite nice but give you and your boyfriend a jarring piece of advice: stay away from dabi and do not invite him into your house under any circumstances.
upon asking who dabi is, your neighbors hush up and tell you that it's best to not ask any questions. just listen and obey it if you want to live peacefully, it's best since you're the new folks in town. to you, it feels like the people are probably bullying whoever this dabi person is if they can't provide a valid reason why he's not to be interacted with.
five weeks since you've settled into your new home, you walk at night to the video store to rent a few tapes to watch for the weekend. you debate between some french film and a clint eastwood movie, wondering if maybe a foreign film would be a nice change of pace or if maybe sticking to a famed movie star would be a guarantee for a good movie. someone happens to be in the same aisle as you and just to make small talk, you ask them to pick between the two. the french film is chosen but you also decide that clint eastwood could also be a good back up just in case.
"if my movie night stinks, i'm gonna go around town looking for you to blame." you crack a small joke.
"well if i'm gonna get my ass kicked by you, it'll be easier to find me by name: i'm dabi."
you shake his hand, your touch lingering for just a few seconds longer than you should be doing when you withdraw. his hands are a little cold but then again, so are yours since the night is fairly chilly. so the infamous dabi is right there with you, and he’s not quite what you thought he would look like. he dresses the part of a punk, his heavy boots and the dark jacket he wears a little bit of a cliché and he’s got dyed black tips that contrast against the white of his hair, but the charming smile he’s sent your way is a foil to the stereotype you had in your head. he’s pretty even, you can’t help but be drawn to his eyes that are a lovely shade of blue. it’s almost hypnotizing how gorgeous he is—
“gonna make me shy sweetheart if you keep on staring like that.”
jolted awake, you sputter out an apology. dabi is gracious enough to wave off the moment, reaching a hand out to gently pinch your cheek. his fingers are cold along your skin, a tingle running up your spine and a nervous laugh leaves your mouth. butterflies flutter in your tummy as you clutch the video tapes to your chest, shifting your weight from one leg to the other. the dingy lights of the video store must make you look unflattering, especially in comparison to the handsome man in front of you.
it's wrong to think but you hope that you look pretty in his eyes.
“hey uh, if you don’t mind me asking… people around town said that you can’t be invited over. why is that? are you, like, a terrible houseguest or something?” you take a chance on uncovering the mystery of your neighbor’s advice. he seems polite enough and you like to believe that you had good judgement as well when it comes to people. dabi didn’t set off any alarm bells in your head.
dabi chuckles, like he’s amused by your question, unsurprised even. “i happen to be a lovely houseguest, the best even. i never enter a house without being invited in.”
“that’s a given, isn’t it?”
“oh doll, it’s the most important rule for me.”
you smile at him, feeling a little excited as he sends a wink your way and turns to leave the store. he says he'll see you around, his boots heavy on the carpeted floor until he's out of the premises. rooted to your spot, it takes you a few seconds to collect yourself. how could one conversation make you so flustered? how could one guy make you feel so giddy?
deciding it was just nerves, you chalk it up to being surprised of meeting this infamous dabi.
walking out into the brisk night, you make your way home with the rented video tapes. since the move, you’ve already taken a few walks at night on your in your own neighborhood. it was safe since the other residents were just families with little kids. there wasn’t any danger you had felt before when you walked past the houses with the neatly maintained lawns. it’s not necessarily danger you feel as you walk home, but something makes you feel as if you should look over your shoulder.
no one around, not a car moved out of place or even any of the tree branches rustling.
completely still, and yet you feel the need to hurry home.
dinner is eaten first along with washing the dishes, the movie night can begin then. you wash at the sink and your boyfriend does the drying. “i met dabi, the one the neighbors told us to never invite over. he was at the video store,” you tell him as you run a glass cup under the warm water from the faucet, “he actually helped in choosing our movies tonight.”
"oh? how kind. was he scary like the neighbors insinuate he is?"
you go over your impression of dabi in the video store, speaking on his demeanor and how he seemed polite enough. nothing from the brief interaction with him really warranted for you to be on alert. if anything, it made you curious. the last dish is washed clean by you and it's held out for your boyfriend to take, but you're left hanging onto it for a few seconds longer than it should take.
when you look over to your boyfriend, he's got this strange look on his face that has you confused on why he's giving you a look. "what is it?"
"nothing, just... why were you talking about dabi like that?"
like what? there wasn't anything you were saying that was special about the encounter itself. it was brief and polite, save for the little flirty actions that you chose to omit so that your boyfriend didn't get the wrong idea of what the meeting was like.
"sorry it's just... you seemed really dazzled by him. almost like you're hypnotized."
had you actually gushed about him that much? embarrassed doesn't even begin to describe how you feel. you sputter an apology to your boyfriend, reassuring him that meeting dabi was really nothing of note and that there was nothing to worry about. there had never been any instances of jealousy between the two of you during the relationship so it was a first for you to give reassurance that another man hadn't swept you off your feet.
an uneasy smile is given to you, like he's trying to be okay with it and you feel guilty. you hadn't really spoken like you were gushing over dabi, right? you could have sworn you were being very normal about him.
it sits on your mind as you curl up on the couch, your boyfriend's warm fingers idly massaging the back of your neck as clint eastwood stars as "the man with no name" and delivers his lines smoothly, "shoot to kill, you better hit the heart. aim for the heart or you'll never stop me."
the movie hardly gets your attention, still feeling your mind drift off to dabi. his fingers were cold against your cheek when he had playfully pinched your earlier at the video store. normally the little neck massage that your boyfriend gives you is a comfort, so it's another first when you politely tell him that he can stop. like all of a sudden his touch is making you uncomfortably warm.
"did i do something wrong?"
"no, no, you didn't. i swear it, i'm just..." you search your mind for an excuse to give, "fussy today i guess."
you can't shake off the bit of guilt in your stomach even as you lay in bed later that evening. an extra apology was given to soothe your own conscience and it was accepted before being given a good night kiss. turning over to lay on your side, you hope that you'll feel better tomorrow. but you don't have an easy sleep either, waking up only just two hours after putting yourself to bed.
careful to leave the bed so that you don't wake your boyfriend, you quietly press your feet onto the floor and leave the warm blankets. the curtains are drawn over the windows, the sheer fabric of it not really keeping out the moonlight that's pouring in. the curtain is pulled aside slightly so that you can peer through the window and glance into the street. street lights illuminate the sidewalks of the neighborhood, the artificial glow a comfort in a way to you as you gaze out the window.
you blink and dabi appears under the light.
he gazes at you first before giving you a little wave, which you reluctantly returned.
next thing you know, you're opening the front door and stepping out into the night to join him. you sense no danger or harm as you approach dabi, the usual cautiousness that you practice completely absent in the moment. in fact, you don't even register that you're meeting him in the street in your little nightie. the only thought you had cross your mind was to meet him where he was. there may be a chill in the air but it doesn't deter you from standing a respectable distance away from him.
"it's late, shouldn't you be in bed?" you ask dabi, the gravel of the street digging into your feet since you hadn't bothered to even put on house slippers when you left your bed.
in fact, you don't even question how he knows where you live.
"could say the same to you. don't want a pretty doll like you to feel all fatigued in the morning. just go back to sleep, okay?" dabi gestures back to your home with the front door left wide open.
the glow of the porch light looks inviting, the warmth of your home does call to you. but you would be remiss to not offer dabi to come in, that it would be rude to leave him behind in this chilly night and perhaps offer him some tea. "do you want to-"
dabi holds up his hand to interrupt you, "not yet, but believe me, i really do."
"so why not?" there's something in you that's making you antsy, that's making you eager to pull dabi into your home. you can't explain it, only that his presence in your house would fulfill this weird void that you didn't even know that you had.
he chuckles at you, making you feel like you're missing out on something that you should be aware of. "well for one thing, i didn't even bring you a housewarming gift. plus, i'd like to meet the man of the house."
"do you want me to wake him too?" you offer, once again not thinking of the unusual nature of this meeting.
dabi sucks air between his teeth, gazing at you once more as he steps towards you. just like at the video store, he pinches your cheek playfully. blue eyes peer at you and then he moves his hand to gently pet your hair. "god, you are the easiest little target i've had the pleasure of meeting. you're making this too easy, you know?" he tells you with what sounds like is supposed to be disappointment but instead feels like amused disbelief.
making what too easy?
"you were so quick to fall for me, i've never worked this fast before."
suddenly the edges of your vision begin to blur and your mind feels fuzzy. your legs weaken and dabi catches you as you fall towards him, his body cold against yours but his hand comfortingly massaging the back of your neck. goosebumps rise along your skin but you bury your nose into his chest, smelling the rich leather of his jacket and letting out a dreamy sigh. "dabi?" you call out softly, your eyes fluttering as you try to clutch onto him, "what's going on?"
he presses you tightly against him, leaning down to breathe deeply along where your neck and shoulder meet. the strap to your nightie falls off your shoulder and you don't know how that invites him even more to keep you longer with him.
"go back to sleep, doll. i'm sure you're all tuckered out from your movie night."
movie? oh yeah, he made the choices for you in the video store...
"shame that you looked so bored though, i wanted to go in there and rescue you."
you wake to sunlight pouring in the bedroom, taking a few seconds to orient yourself to your own space. the blankets feel cozy like they usually do and the light coming through curtains is pretty, just like you knew they would be. still, you can’t help but feel a little strange after the dream you had last night.
did you really go out to meet dabi last night? the dream felt very real but there’s no way you’d do something so silly like that. he’s a stranger, someone you’d only met for a few short seconds and didn’t exchange any personal info with. so there’s no reason for you to have had a dream about him. maybe you were just enthralled from meeting someone new and that’s why.
yeah, that should be it.
after all, you were restless the first two weeks moving into town and had dreams about the neighbors delivering bug casseroles or throwing flaming newspapers through the windows.
the bed is made up, the pillows fluffed, and you neatly tuck the blankets exactly how you like them. glancing at the window, you approach to pull aside the curtain. the crisp night air from last night comes to mind as well as dabi standing right underneath the street light. the gravel underneath your feet, the smell of his leather jacket, and his fingers pinching your cheek last night…
wow, you really must have had a really vivid dream. usually most of them you forget within a few minutes of waking up.
your stomach rumbles and you hope that your boyfriend has started making breakfast. but as you reach the corner of the hallway, you hear him speaking to someone at the front door. you hide around the corner and do your best to listen in.
“he walked her to the gate of your home, i swear it! i was almost scared that she had invited him in!” it sounds like the elderly lady that lives with her eldest son who is a widower, she was a kind little thing that gave you a basket of oranges, “we told you! stay away from him! he’s evil!”
so you had walked out last night? it wasn’t just a dream?
“ma’am, i’m sure you thought you saw (name) but i would know if my own girlfriend left our bed in the middle of the night. i happen to be a very light sleeper.” your boyfriend speaks lightly and seems as if he’s trying to find an out to the conversation, “and for your information, she did meet dabi and she said that he was quite kind to her.”
the reveal of this information sends the elderly woman into some type of tizzy, “no, no! she should have stayed away like you were warned to! dabi could have already put his spell on her. if he chose her then she’ll speak like she’s in love with him already! and she’ll talk of dreams with him!”
at the sign of her agitation, your boyfriend decides to shut the door on her coupled with an attempt to politely disengage. her shouts are still heard through the wood and even from where you stand hidden.
“you need to protect her! dabi took away my daughter-in-law! don’t let her out of your sigh—especially at night!”
your boyfriend heaves a heavy sigh, “christ, this lady… get her some meds!”
his footsteps start to march towards the kitchen but you retreat back into the hallway so that you’re out of sight when he passes by. the familiar sounds of pots and pans clang against one another but now you have no appetite to eat. instead you go back to the bedroom to stand in the spot at the window.
standing behind the sheer curtain, you’re able to make out your elderly neighbor walk past the gate. her widowed son is meeting her and offering his arm for assistance, but she points a hand to the house. when the son does look to the house, you pull back the curtain and attempt to give a friendly wave.
it’s met with a grim look instead, leaving you awkwardly lowering your hand. the elderly woman and her son make their way back to their house, and you stand in your spot for just a little longer. you can still visualize dabi standing under the street lamp.
“you're making this too easy, you know?"
making what too easy? what did dabi mean by that? why are you even questioning words from a dream anyway?
chalking it up to just a strange morning, you decide that it’s best to freshen up before presenting yourself to your boyfriend for breakfast. in the bathroom, you cup your palms under the running water and then splash it on your face. you repeat a few more times until you feel clean, reaching for the nearby face towel to dry you off.
“doll… i wanna see you.”
you freeze for a few seconds, dabi’s voice so clear and crisp in your mind it was as if he were with you right now.
“… dabi?” you speak quietly but you’re unsure why you’re even calling for him in the first place.
you sit at the breakfast nook, looking over the newspaper s you stir your spoon around in the coffee mug aimlessly. the pan is sizzling loudly as it cooks eggs and bacon on the oiled surface.
“so hon… any dreams last night?” your boyfriend makes conversation, which you’re quick to say that you didn’t remember which was a common answer from you. and you didn’t want to worry him if you talked of dreaming about dabi; you still felt bad from the conversation last night.
“wanna see you… come see me at the beach tonight.”
“hey, you’re not going anywhere tonight are you?” you ask and your boyfriend tells you that he’s not. “could i take the truck out tonight and drive by the beach? i’ve always wanted to sit on the sand and watch the waves when it’s nighttime.”
he says it’s fine but to not be out too long, and to bring a beach blanket too. he trusts that you’ll be fine on your own because you’d never given him any reason too. giddiness rises up in your chest, bringing a smile onto your face as breakfast is set in front of you.
“i’m so excited for the beach tonight! i can’t wait!”
dabi’s voice croons in your head, “good girl.”

hey, same anon! so...how did it go on Darcy's end?
(Setting: Outside the Boogie Lair, On the Isle)
(Darcy stands outside the entrance to her papa’s lair, hesitating to knock due to what she plans to tell him. She is dating the son of Jack Skellington, after all… Of course, she knows her father loves her more than anything, but that still doesn’t mean he’ll take this news positively at all. Ah well, now or never…)
Darcy: (Takes a deep breath and pushes the doors to the lair, entering the vast space) Papa? You here?
(She smiles and laughs as her father enters the room and spins her around in a bear hug. She really had missed him!)
Oogie: There’s my lil nightmare! (Teasing) Finally decided to visit yer ol’ man, huh?
Darcy: (Laughs) I missed you too, papa! You ain’t stayed holed up down here with me gone, right?
Oogie: (Rolls his eyes) I’ve been gettin’ out of the house every once in a while! Ya know I’m a homebody, darlin’! (She lovingly shakes her head) So how are things over on the mainland?
Darcy: Full of suckers easier to scare than a blind mouse, just like you said. It’s been a hoot! I lost count of how many of those little ‘royals’ have shrieked their lungs out after I spooked ‘em! A few even pissed themselves!
(Her father lets out one of his big, booming laughs)
Oogie: That’s my girl!
(Darcy smiles, before remembering her purpose for coming here. Nervous, because she knows how overprotective her father can be when it comes to boys, she broaches the topic.)
Darcy: There, uh, there is something I should probably tell ya, papa. (Rubbing her arm with a pensive expression)
(The boogieman takes notice of the change in his daughter’s demeanor, becoming concerned.)
Oogie: What is it, Pun’Kin?
Darcy: I, um…(takes a breath) I met someone…in Auradon, papa. He and I…we’ve been going out…about three months now.
(Her father’s eyes narrow. Some dimwit little punk moving in on his baby girl is the furthest thing from welcome news.)
Oogie: (Crosses his arms) Is that right? And just who exactly is this gentleman friend of yours, darlin’?
Darcy: He’s a great guy, daddy! He is a gentleman, always respectful! He listens to me, and cares about what I think! He’s sweet, he’s smart and he makes me laugh, and he ain’t no goody-two-shoes, neither! He loves scarin’ folks, like we do! (Twiddling her fingers)
Oogie: He from Halloween Town, then? Most of them Auradon folk are too soft to spook anybody.
Darcy: Yeah…His name’s JJ…Jack Skellington Jr…
(The room goes deathly silent at this revelation.)
Oogie: …
Darcy: Papa?
Oogie: Y-Yer datin’…JACK’S BOY?! PUN’KIN, HAVE YA LOST YER EVERLOVIN’ MIND?! OF ALL THE FURSHLUGGINER HALFWIT BOYS YA COULDA CHOSEN IT HAD TO BE-
Darcy: DADDY, STOP! For the gods’ sake, just listen! (Takes a deep breath) Look, I know this is hard for you to process, I know the history between you and his dad…and I know how mad you must be...but I'm not gonna apologize for fallin’ for him, Skellington or not. Me and JJ...we aren't you and Jack, and we never will be! You always say that one’a the most important things to you is that I'm happy... well, prove it! JJ makes me REALLY happy! So I'm askin' you, for my sake, to accept us bein’ together, no matter how much you hate his parents. (Looks at him intensely) Please, Papa.
(The boogieman is silent for a moment.)
Oogie: I just…give me a minute, nightmare. (He leaves the room, Darcy letting out a heavy sigh)
(A few minutes later, her father returns, a pensive expression on his face.)
Oogie: Darcy, darlin’, I ain’t gonna lie and say I’m happy about this…but I know yer a smart girl and you wouldn’t fall for just anybody. And I guess if Jack’s little punk- (Darcy glares at him)…(sighs) his son makes ya happy…I can live with it. (Darcy smiles) I’m just havin’ a hard time trustin’ that this kid, the son of the man who hates me more than anybody…is goin’ in with good intentions with my little girl.
Darcy: (Sighs) I know, papa. But I promise, ya don’t have to worry. JJ’s not like that. He really cares about me…he loves me…and I love him.
Oogie: I guess…as yer papa, that’s all I can ask for. (He softens as Darcy hugs him)
Darcy: Thanks, daddy. I love you.
Oogie: Love you too, my little fright. (He gently ruffles her wild curls.)
Darcy: I will check you for weapons when ya meet him though! That goes for you three, too!
(Lock, Shock and Barrel give innocent “Who, us?” expressions…hiding blades behind their backs.)

They got lost on their way to a festival.
Tumblr media
I definitely associate each of them with different styles of rock and metal, too. Igna'd definitely listen to power metal. She'd be more concerned with how energetic and catchy her music is, than with the technicalities, and the occasional fantasy silliness is an added bonus. I'd bet she'd listen to Blind Guardian, Rhapsody of Fire and maybe Hammerfall, with a side of Battle Beast.
I can't precisely put my finger on why I associate Argo with celtic punk so strongly, but probably due to the hopelessness of it. He's pretty self-conscious about being an unitnentional failure of his family, and he faces the prospect of early death head-on. Also, coincidentally despite all my love towards celtic punk, it's not a genre known for pretty vocal XD To some degree I think regional styles of rock, especially from post-soviet countries fit him too, mainly due to the melancholic lyrics.
Theria practically has 'folk metal' written on her forehead. I'm firmly convinced in a modern AU she'd listen to Korpiklaani and Ensiferum. She probably wouldn't be opposed to listening to some variations of power and viking metal too.
I'd expect that Daen would wear t-shirts of Rammstein, but actually I associate him most strongly with Sonata Arctica. I see him as partial to good symphonic metal, too.
Haart would be your classic denim and leather wearing dad metal guy, who oscillates between New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and classic rock and metal bands. He'd have several t-shirts of Iron Maiden, he'd own the whole discography of Saxon and would bond with Igna over Gamma Ray.

Spotify Discovery Review
So I wanted to try something new and figured I'd dive into more music thoughts, and since I've been actually listening to my Spotify Discovery (I needed new music lol) so yeah.
Overall Rating: 13/30 that I really like and even sort of like, so not bad. Probably won't be saving a ton of these for later listening, a few might go into some character playlists at least so that's good. We'll see if any grow on me. Below are some of the standouts good, bad, and indifferent. A few songs I didn't include bc they're instrumentals that I didn't really have any thoughts on. Not even neutral thoughts.
Good
Dear Alice (rainy days)
Slow and dreamlike, it's not really a surprise that there's heavy Alice in Wonderland theming but even though there's not a ton of singing, I found myself enjoying the ride.
Femme Fatale
A fantastic beat, a combination of western and tango aesthetics, a fast paced ride that makes me want to groove. Love the flirty danger that drips off of every word, it's got a solid identity and doesn't feel like it's trying too hard to be "edgy" or anything.
YOUR HEAD'S ON FIRE
Louie Zhong is always a bop and his lyrical style is always a joy. Unconventional metaphors and fun little bits, a very groovy guitar line that makes you want to wiggle.
Blink of an eye
Halfy and Winks make DSMP songs, I'm aware of this, however I love their musical style and lyrics. Gives me heavy inspiration for my own story just with how vivid and story based their stuff is. The revolutionary spark in here is nice.
Invisible Dan Avidan has popped into my feeds and I’m not really complaining? I love the rock style/retro vibe that this one has going on, his vocals really sell it. A little bit chase scene a little bit breakdown but overall a good time.
The Moon and Stars
Good folk vibes, gets close to scratching the same itch that The Crane Wives do but not quite, which is still a good time for me. We'll see if this fits a character in future.
The Manic
A great character song, will be applying to my blorbos soon. The pushing away from someone you love because you know you'll hurt them eventually and can't take it. Very good stuff.
Dance While the Sky Crashes Down
Eyyy Jason Webly, I remember you from WTNV. A tango for the end of the world and honestly isn't that a mood? I love the lyrics, although it drags a smidge at the end. Maybe because of TMA I'm a little more inclined towards this.
A song whose title is in Japanese. It's from land of the lustrous and I cannot copy paste the title.
Very eerie, very atmospheric. I haven't watched the show in its entirety myself, but I know that it has horror and suspense interwoven in some of the back half, and the clanking bells and echoes really give the sensation of being watched. Of being on edge. Good stuff.
Break Your Cranck
An altogether inexplicable piece. It’s done on a hurdy gurdy which is already a plus but. It. It sounds like electronica crafted by pirate bees. With some Indian influence thrown in for flavor. Like a space punk pirate bazaar. Very atmospheric but also so so confusing. I love it.
Dance of the blood drunk
A balance of wild carnival and orchestral splendor, feels like an epic batter on a grand scale. The unsteady thrill of never knowing if you’re winning or not.
Neutral
Absence
I kinda forgot what this sounded like tbh.
How Dare You
Pretty good? No real feelings on it.
I was an island
Again with the good lyrics, but the instrumentation and singing are on the verge of being unlistenable? Like I can listen, and I could see myself putting this on a character playlist or two for sure.
Tavern crawl
A fun little bawdy medieval style song, Annapantsu kills it as expected, but bar songs/drinking songs aren’t really my vibe? But I could see myself grooving to this generally.
Brand new city
Mitski, which is good, but some of her stuff doesn't hit me as much as it does others, and this is one of those times. Not bad by any means, just not something I can see myself going back to.
Cold, cold, cold
Has a story to it, the grandiosity is nice especially near the end but the whole song together doesn’t quite capture me in the way that other artists in this space do. I could listen to it if I was in a particular mood but otherwise it’s not a stand out.
Bitch, Bitch, Bitch
I do like the Jekyll and Hyde musical don't get me wrong but I'm not a huge fan of this one? It's mostly a song meant to establish the upper crust as mindless gossips and twits, the combination of the old Disney-musical style instrumentals and the rather vulgar (by Victorian standards) lyrics is funny but that's all its got.
Timekeeper's Heartbeat
An interesting case where I like the instrumentals and most of the lyrics but it fails to really coalesce into a song? There's bits that don't rhyme for no reason, it comes across like one of those English vocaloid covers that doesn't adjust for the context. If it is, I wouldn't be surprised.
Nah
Whiplash (Black Math) Don’t like listening to it, not much else to really say here.
Wish you were gay I’m aware this one is a bit of a darling in some of the animation meme circles but I don’t really care for the instrumentation or the lyrics. Unpleasant to listen to.
Two's a party Jazz/cabaret but there’s not really a depth to it imo. I find it a bit hard to listen to despite the singer being pretty good if a bit... too whispery. A combination of the lyrics and sudden trumpet jump scares ig.
Judas An interesting concept and premise, the dichotomy of a queer relationship contrasted with the religious imagery is layered but the vocal performance doesn’t really do it for me. Seems to want to be mountain goats but it’s a little too raw?
I DONT TRUST U ANYMORE Person with a guitar genre, valid feelings but vocal performance is a bit flat. Reminds me of blink 182 but with none of the energy.

꒰ Band of Brother Characters Taste in Music ꒱
Dick Winters— Jazz music is his jam... I could see him enjoying Laufey or Nat King Cole
Lewis Nixon— Either has a similar taste to Winters or he's listening to alternative. Might listen to Lana Del Rey.
Ronald Speirs— Folk Rock... Think of Sedona by Houndmouth or maybe Not Dead Yet by Lord Huron.
Harry Welsh— Probably loves music from the 70s... You could catch him singing to Fleetwood mac or Carly Simon.
Carwood Lipton— he listens to all kinds of music... Old, new, um classical. if he likes it, he will listen to it.
Edward Shames— Klezmer or nigun; He's a mensch.
John Martin—Whatever the radio plays, he isn't picky. He just doesn't enjoy hard rock or certain country music(that's about beer & girls).
Floyd Talbert— It's giving Mac Demarco, TV Girl, Backseat Lovers, maybe Gorillaz.. I don't know if he's a red flag or not.
Bill Guarnere— Alternative Rock; I'm leaning towards Punk by Gorillaz. Though, if he were to have a guilty pleasure song it'd be Mamma Mia by Abba.
Joe Toye— I'm thinking Metal or heavier rock in general though he definitely has guilty pleasure songs. His favourite metal song is Dragula by Rob Zombie. The guilty pleasure song is definitely Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo. He also listens to Lana del Rey, Marina, and Paramore.
Don Malarkey— His favourite band is the strokes, trust me. He also enjoys The Libertines and Franz Ferdinand. Just trust me on this, okay?
Lynn Compton— Wasn't he kind of athletic? If so he definitely has a workout playlist that's full of either really hyper-feminine music or 90s rock.
Ralph Spina— He loves music from the 60s-70s... Southern Nights by Glen Campbell is one of his favourite songs.
Eugene Roe— @chaosklutz helped with this one; Jazz. I could imagine him listening to Let's call the whole thing off by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Babe Heffron—Indie pop or Indie rock... Hes an avid listener of lovejoy. He also listens to Hozier from time to time.
Shifty Powers— Folk... He's from Virginia but if I remember correctly it's a rural area. He definitely likes John Denver and The Oh Hellos.
Joseph Liebgott— Klezmer the folk music of Ashki Jews!! Example; Dona Dona by Nikitov. On the other hand, I could see him listening to alternative/indie like Blur or haim.
George Luz— Classic Rock or Indie Pop— Think talking heads or wallows. However, he definitely loves some cher songs and donna summers.
Bull Randleman— It's giving rock but not heavy... He's not like Toye or Guarnere. I'm thinking of Cheaptrick or maybe Aerosmith.
Skinny Sisk—Probably listens to a playlist that's a mixture of pop, rock, and rap. It's giving red flag.
Frank Perconte— He definitely listens to the fratellis and the maccabees... I mean they have a song called Toothpaste Kisses...
Warren Muck— he listens to anything but he tends to favour the 80s. He loves Come On Eileen but also 500 miles? He'd play that whilst in the car with Penkala and Malarkey.
Alex Penkala— Don't ask me why but I think he'd listen to new wave. Think Duran Duran, Blondie, or B-52s. He might listen to the ramones from time to time.
David Webster— Whilst studying Webster has definitely chosen classical as his go to. He's a big fan of Saint-Saens and Tchaikovsky. However, when listening to music on the radio he prefers something a bit more quiet... His taste clashes with Toye and Guarnere. Though, I could see him trying to act as if listening to the smiths is really underrated. As if they're some underground band.
Edward Tipper— I think he likes 60s pink Floyd... Like See Emily Play Pink Floyd. He might also enjoy The Beatles or The Stone Roses. Like Rock that borders being pop.

Every Record I Own - Day 821: Jello Biafra w/ Nomeansno The Sky Is Falling and I Want My Mommy
Hearing "Terminal Preppie" by Dead Kennedys in the 8th grade was a life-changing moment. I was already gravitating towards less-popular music, but up until that point I'd never heard anything as caustic as Dead Kennedys. Even a lot of the thrash metal my friends liked at the time seemed refined in comparison. My discovery just happened to line up with Thrasher Magazine publishing an interview with Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra, which further piqued my interest in the crass and enigmatic world of punk. In the pre-internet / pre-Nevermind small beach town on Oahu where I lived at the time, an interview in Thrasher could open crucial new paths to discovering more fringe music. I learned about Biafra's label Alternative Tentacles Records and all the various side projects he'd been involved with at the turn of the decade---Lard, Tumor Circus, and the collab albums with DOA and Nomeansno. That interview was also the first place I heard about The Stooges and Nurse With Wound. So thank you, Thrasher.
Perhaps that name-drop in the interview is why Nomeansno caught our attention when my buddy Frank and I heard "Dad" on the punk show on our local radio station. I wound up with the Small Parts cassette not long after. And shortly after moving to Washington state, I found the Biafra / Nomeansno collab album on cassette at a Sam Goody at the mall. I bought it more for the Biafra angle than the Nomeansno involvement as that was where my head was at in 1992; I was more drawn to the larger-than-life persona spitting out all these Yippie-style grievances and absurdist tales of modern life than the bedrock of rhythmic bass-heavy punk churning underneath it.
The Sky Is Falling and I Want My Mommy helped cement my early teenage fandom for Biafra, but it didn't nudge me into exploring Nomeansno any further. Perhaps this is the general grievance folks have for a lot of Biafra's post-Dead Kennedys output: his presence tends to drown out the other participants. My Nomeansno obsession would blossom nearly a decade later, and at that point I could revisit The Sky Is Falling with fresh ears. It's still a fantastic album, though it skews towards a more straightforward brand of punk, and there is some element of Nomeansno's dark and sardonic weight that's absent without their vocal and lyrical participation.
For some reason, all my cassettes from Alternative Tentacles slowly deteriorated. Maybe I listened to them too much? So I was excited to find this used copy somewhere in Europe (Netherlands, maybe?) about a decade ago.

(un)interesting fact:
When I write about an anarcho-primitivist orc society that split off after Sauron's disappearance and radically opposed military lifestyle, preferring to be free hunters and gatherers, I listen to San Pauli, A Chiton, El Pueblo Unido;
When I write about more militaristic Adar's orcs, I mostly listen to Ambiramus, Thousandfold and Inis Mona.
I guess the anarchic orcs in my head are for chaos, freedom, and strong connections between themselves which is ska-brass; but the military orcs are dark-heavy-legendaristic, overlapping with sagas of impending doom and death in battle, a tribe going extinct.
I still need a real sad playlist for real sad moments, but all I have is punk, pagan folk, and phonk

Hi I was wondering if you had any music preference headcanons for Star Wars characters? (I guess in a modern AU kinda way, since the only in universe music I know of is jizz lol) I have strong feelings about Luke loving country and folk (farm boy), and also like weird synth electric stuff that he would meditate to. I’m still torn on Din, whether its funnier if he secretly loves pop or if he has absolutely no knowledge of any music outside really niche Madalorian classics. I think Leia would tell people she only listened to classical but actually hates it and loves really aggressive punk and metal. Han doesn’t care as long as he can tap his toes to it. Grogu only loves music that everyone else hates because he thrives on chaos.
I must confess, I don't put as much time into these kinds of headcanons as i maybe should, not that I'd know what I can offer. But the first thing I thought when I saw your ask, Anon, was Din putting on some music for Grogu because he keeps demanding it and the people he's towing along expect some kids' music like "Baby Shark" (sorry, it's in your head now, I don't make the rules here) and instead he starts blasting heavy metal and Grogu is headbanging along like there's no tomorrow.
I also maybe committed the crime of giving Din the same habits that Dean Winchester had, aka he likes collecting certain genres of older music as mixtapes and CDs and he won't give them up. Some kind of mix of classic rock, soft rock, and adult alternative.
I wonder how Luke would feel about southern gothic, which is my favorite genre of country. I am 100000% down with the idea of him listening to retro synthwave/vaporwave and rocking out to EDM while kicking Imperial ass. I could see Leia being real big on punk rock and the early 2000s pop rock (??? idk if that's the right genre, I'm useless about this shit), and mixing it up with classical music. Han feels like an indie rock guy. Bit folksy, bit of a good strong beat, something he and Chewie could vibe to while smuggling their way through the galaxy. Idk, I'm just spitballing right now lol.
(Artoo is the source and enabler of Grogu's taste in music but you didn't hear it from me)

hi! what would u say are starter metal bands/albums/songs for people who have never listened to metal? i'm interested in exploring new genres but i know NOTHING about metal and you seem to know quite a lot!
See I love trying to answer this question but it's honestly a little tricky! The thing that makes metal so great imo is the fact that there's a billion subgenres. But that's also what makes it hard to find the right recommendation for someone off the top of your head! I might send you a metalcore song that does nothing for you, but if I had gone with like. Stoner metal or something you'd have found your niche.
That said I recently made a playlist for a friend asking me the same question. I tried to throw in an array of different styles. Check it out if you have Spotify! Feel free to skip when a song isn't working - there might be something you like more further on
Aside from that, click below for a couple of recommendations for stuff I find to be more accessible/appealing to a broad audience
Sleep Token - here's an alt metal band that's really blowing up right now! They're about to release their third LP. I'd suggest checking out a few of the singles they've already put out for it. This band has been great for attracting new folks to metal: they play with a lot of different genres and while they certainly have heavy moments, I feel like their pop-friendly approach makes them a good band to on board people to the genre.
Invent Animate - this is a metalcore band that also just put out an early contender for Album of the Year imo. There's a mix of harsh and clean vocals, a very atmospheric sound throughout, and a good mix of technically impressive instrumentation and strong hooks. If you like this sound I'd suggest checking out other bands like Spiritbox and Bad Omens.
Lacuna Coil - hey, do you like Evanescence? Do you like beautiful women with incredible singing voices? This band might be for you. I'd recommend their 2002 record Comalies to start, or you can check out their most recent album as well. If you like this sound, you might be interested in checking out bands like Epica or Ad Infinitum next!
Iron Maiden/Judas Priest - interested in a more classic sound? Maiden and Priest were two titans of an era called NWOBHM (the New Wave of British Heavy Metal) - characterized by fast, aggressive music and clean vocals that tend to be on the higher end. I'd highly recommend Number of the Beast for Maiden or Screaming for Vengeance if you want to get into Priest. If you're looking for contemporary bands playing with a similar sound, I'd suggest Sumerlands or Sonja, who both had excellent records last year.
Nu Metal/Alt Metal - sometimes it can be tricky to talk about these genres because people get very passionate and nitpicky about the terms. But generally speaking if you like the sounds that dominated the metal/hard rock charts around the turn of the century you might like the following bands: Kittie, Slipknot, Tallah, Nova Twins
Post-hardcore/metalcore - more into that MCR-ish emo sound? Try Static Dress or If I Die First! Not super heavy, but still with an edge. These are young bands who are again playing in a very 00s space.
Deftones - here's a band that I find pretty accessible! There's definitely a heaviness, but there's also a strong shoegaze influence that creates an opportunity for some really beautiful songs. This band has been active since the 90s, huge catalog of great albums. Start with White Pony. There are a lot of bands right now who are very influenced by Deftones - if you like this band check out Loathe or Moodring next
Stoner/Doom - we're talking about big fuzzy riffs here! Slow/mid-tempo songs usually with a longer song length than more punk-influenced subgenres. Try bands like Windhand, Faetooth, Red Fang, or King Woman
No Harsh Vocals Please - okay, like heavy sounds but don't like the screaming? Check out these bands: Katatonia, Evergrey, Unleash the Archers
There's so much more I could get into but I need to stop eventually. I hope you find something you like somewhere in these recommendations! If you do, feel free to come back to me with what worked for you and I can offer more suggestions along that line.
Happy listening 🤘
