the way people treat helen as compared to the way they treat michael just. really rubs me the wrong way. like she's in more scenes than he is, she stopped him from KILLING JON, she was arguably more humanized from the start than he ever was and she had clear character development as she adjusted to her new role as the distortion.

and yet michael gets all the attention. michael gets all the fanart and fanfic and memes and headcanons and ships. absolutely no hate to doorkeay, but i genuinely do not understand why it's more popular than helanie.

My personal Micheal Distortion appearance hc is that at first, he looks perfectly normal. A guy you’d meet somewhere sketchy, sure, but just some guy nonetheless. Over time, however, he’d become less and less human, until what is in front of you is so clearly a monster, but you were so sure that he was a person just like you. Looking back through your memories with him, you can’t even tell when the change started or with what. Were his hands always so long and his fingers so sharp? Was his hair always this neon of a yellow?

I think it resets for Helen Distortion, after all, she is quite different. She is friendlier, more amiable than Micheal ever was; after all, she was a real estate agent once, she’s good with people. You can trust Helen, she’s not like Micheal. But were her teeth always this sharp? Did she used to never have a stable form when you met her? She must have. She’s not doing what Micheal did. She’s not like Micheal no she isnt she isnt.

This change in appearance would be sped up by Seeing the distortion, thus making sense of why Jon hated the distortions more than anyone else; he saw them as monsters so so quickly. The others all had time to see humans, humans who changed into monsters. Jon never got that.

was trying to word about the distortions being my fav guys to a friend who doesnt know tma and like. i came up with wording it as one/two/three of my fav guys bcs like??? ok helen n michael are not the same but they are both the distorion so you could count them all as the distortion (one), or helen distorion n michael distortion are seperate characters n entities despite both being based from the distortion, they are seperate enough to be different things (two), or,, helen distortion n michael distorion r ofc seperate things but the distortion as a concept without a person attatched too is a seperate thing that should be counted as such (three)
