Things bad-luck adjacent are happening, so Danny goes to call Johnny to yell at him about it-
Johnny- Whatchu talkin’ about? We’re in Vegas! Danny- What. Johnny- We’re at this snazzy strip joint and Kitty’s dancing with the devil. If we play our cards right, it’s gonna be a wild night! Danny- I did not need to ever hear those words coming from your mouth, thanks.
Danny thinks Johnny meant to say that Kitty's dancing with a "handsome devil" but nope. That's Lucifer, and they're dancing in his strip club.

Small waves crashed against the rock you crouched upon. Deep blue water crawled up the stone platform, trying to lick at your feet. You ignored it resolutely, too focused on your task to pay much mind to the chilly liquid trying to reach your crouching form. Your tail swayed ever so slightly from side to side. Your ears stood at attention, perked up while you tried to pinpoint a sound in the swirling depths. There was the caw of an avian creature in the distance. There was the soft splash of water on rock. There was the distant sounds of the village, which you could hear from your post. And suddenly- there. There it was.
Something dark, moving below the surface. You could hear its lithe body shooting through the water. The small ripples it made. Swift as the very thing you hunted, you slammed your spear downwards, catching the fish in the center of its back and effectively ending its life. A triumphant grin tugged at your lips, baring your teeth to the water.
Victory tasted a lot like salty air.
You stood and started to pull your spear from the water. It was oddly heavy. The creature you speared wasn’t that large. Surely it wasn’t this weighted on its own. You leaned over the edge of the rock, squinting down into the waters below. The dark shape had stopped moving. Maybe if you just got a closer look…
It sprang to life suddenly. You could see now a little too late that your spear had struck it beside its fin, not in its back. It was playing dead to fool you. A squawk that was hardly dignified of the village Tsahìk left your lips as you were yanked forward into the water. The crisp air of fall had made the water carry a slight chill, and it washed over you now. You held on stubbornly through your spear. Pain shot through your stomach. The stubborn little thing was pulling your spear- and, unfortunately, you along with it. Your body dragged along rocks, smacking into what felt like every hard surface beneath the water. You tightened your grip on your weapon and yanked backwards, pulling the fish back towards yourself. The butt end of your spear smacked you in the nose.
Cursing angrily, you expelled all your air at once. Your spear slipped from your hands and blood made the water by your head murky. Despite your lack of oxygen, you shot forward after the creature that had caused all of this. You were going to kill it with your teeth. Or, you would have, had a second spear not cut through the water and pierced it correctly, pinning it to a formation of rock. Seconds later, a hand grasped onto the back of your neck and hauled you out of the water like you were no more than a misbehaving child. You thrashed, gasping once the cold air hit your wet skin. Your hand struck something solid and you heard a hiss.
“Really?” A voice demanded. Your ears shot up at its familiarity. They then lowered with sheepishness. Still holding the back of your neck was your dearly beloved mate who you hadn’t at all meant to smack. His expression was a deadpan one.
“I did not know it was you,” you said. It was a little difficult to turn your head towards him, and so you settled for awkwardly looking at him from your peripheral. “How did you find me?”
His hand released you. You were able to turn now and get a look at him. His expression was severe, and the thought of disappointing your lover made your heart drop like a stone. Only one thing stopped you from being completely dejected. His lips were set in a hard line. Too firm to be natural. And his posture was rigid like he was trying to prevent a movement of sorts. He inhaled, and- Great Mother.
He was trying not to laugh. The realization had you gasping, and your hand settled over your heart in mock offense.
“You!” You cried.
His resolve broke. Tonowari’s eyes crinkled around the edges, clear evidence of his smile.
“It was hard not to realize something was wrong,” he said. “I could see the bubbles and splashing from the village. Is it not beneath you to play with the fish?”
“I was not playing,” you hissed. “There was an attempt on my life. Look at me!”
He looked you up and down. His eyes lingered on your stomach. Then, they shot up to your face.
“Did the fish do that to you?”
Once more, you hissed. “The fish was vicious.”
“I am sure.” He circled you. His hand gently touched your lower back- his palm alone covering the entirety of it. “It seems as though it was able to claim victory against you.”
“I had it.” It was a little difficult to focus on defending yourself when his skin was so warm whilst your body was so cold. Perhaps if you kept talking, he would linger. You tilted your head back to look up at him once more and found he was equally focused on you. He was bent over- just barely- as though trying to near your height- and suddenly even breathing was difficult. Your breath caught in your throat.
“You should dress your wounds.” His face was so close to yours.
“I should.” Your gaze was locked on his lips. His hand drifted upwards on your back. He began to lean down, stopping when he was mere inches from your face. Your eyes snapped back up to meet his. He smiled.
“And I should retrieve our meal. If it is still edible after you poked so many holes in it.”
Bastard.
His hand dropped from your back, leaving your skin cold in his absence. He turned away from you and began making his way down the sand towards where his spear still stuck out of the water. You were left with your hand on your heart. It pounded frantically beneath your palm. You huffed and turned away from him, making your way back to the village, resolute in the fact that you would be getting him back.

The original line was mistranslated, and was later changed to have Gojo say that the Heian sorcerers who challenged him ultimately lost. Sukuna remaining undefeated is common knowledge in-verse.
Oh, thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize that. I'll have to look back and maybe tweak a few things in the background I guess... hm. Honestly it doesn't make a big difference in the overall setting for zenith whether Sukuna was defeated and turned into cursed objects or whether he turned himself into cursed objects of his own will. Granted, the latter option does have a much larger scary factor to it.
Although I will say that I can definitely see jujutsu sorcerers spreading the word that "we defeated Sukuna!!" even if it's not what actually happened. Because as far as they're concerned, Sukuna was reduced to inactive cursed objects while the sorcery families remained standing, so it's still technically their win. Also, I can see sorcerers trying to talk themselves up and what not for reputation, power, etc. Maybe even currying favor with nobility?
And thus spreads the popular misconception that Heian sorcerers defeated Sukuna!
The older sorcery clans probably preserved the truth that Sukuna was undefeated somewhere in their records, but it would probably be classified as 'secret' and not something that most clansmen would have access to, as with the case of most restricted information.

prompt 14? :]
14.
"Hmm." Kregg hummed, gazing out at the stars beyond the window. "I've been having the same issues"
Thula looked over at her friend, surprised by his confession. "How have you... found the mandate? Have your efforts been fruitful as of yet?"
"Yes. And that's what concerns me" he answered, and the way his face creased betrayed the mixed feelings currently running through his head. "I know attachment isn't meant to be an option, that this is just to replenish our dwindling numbers, but... I can't help but care for them" he elaborated, finally meeting his fellow general's gaze. "I care for them all, and yet I'm afraid that my actions have hurt them all"
Thula turned back to the window, looking over the view of the USA from their position in space. She could remember the rough area that Kyle lived in, an easy feat with how many times she had flown there and back. "My efforts have been... entirely unsuccessful. Human courting is so... subtle and difficult to understand. Every time I've attempted to secure a mate, the only success I found was in scaring them off!" she explained, now her turn to confess her troubles with human culture. "Perhaps I'm not cut out for it, as Washington would say"
Kregg chuckled, a low amused noise that was accompanied by a question: "Are you sure you're not just looking in the wrong place?"
"Meaning what, exactly?" she asked, not exactly amused by his coyness. He gave her a sort of knowing look, and her eyebrows almost met her hairline from how fast they shot up. "You can't mean... Washington?! He is hospitable, yes, but I- I don't-!"
"Don't you?" Kregg asked slyly. "I know he may seem a questionable choice at first, but if I were in your position? I wouldn't dismiss him outright!"
Thula couldn't believe the words coming from the general's mouth. Had she been the much younger zealot she once was, she'd have reported him to the emperor for treason without a moment's hesitation. "Have you gone mad, Kregg? He almost murdered Emperor Nolan!"
"And yet he is one of three men on this planet that have Emperor Nolan's respect. I'm not trying to convince you of anything, Thula, just... he's a good man" Kregg reasoned with her.
Thula supposed there was some truth in her friend's words. Washington- no, Kyle- had been nothing but kind and welcoming from the moment she had arrived at his home at the emperor's request. He was strong, far stronger than anyone she knew bar for the scourge Thokk, but his power paled in comparison to his heart. Anyone with his level of strength on Viltrum would be the most feared man alive, and yet here he was loved as a father and a friend. In all the millennia she had soared through the stars, Thula had still yet to meet anyone half as patient and as considerate as him. Was Kregg right, was she looking in the wrong place? Had she looked so far, when the answer had been right beside her this whole time? Was it really that simple?
“I see. I must... go now. I hope we can talk again soon, Kregg” she managed to get out, leaving the room shortly after.
Her flight back to Earth was brief, a great deal of urgency on her mind as she soared through the star-spotted black void. The idea of courting the old soldier was strange to her, but Thula would be lying if she said it wasn’t an idea she had entertained before. But even if she was truly in love with him, and not just woefully confused, there were still other factors: perhaps her feelings wouldn’t be reciprocated by him, perhaps he wasn’t even attracted to women (she had heard stories about a ‘Pavel’ character), or perhaps he simply was not seeking a relationship currently. If it was reciprocated, and she did have a chance, then she would need help to understand how he would go about a courtship and help her to best devise an airtight strategy. She had the perfect person in mind, too.
After all, who knows a father better than his children?

Funniest thing about putting out a new fic is that people read it, same few people comment(!), and then every other fic you've written starts getting hits too. Like hey guys how's it going, Khajiit has other wares for you.

i have lots of flaws but i do at least take a fair amount of comfort knowing that, if i were a customer NPC in a fast food/retail management game, i would be one of the chill early-level ones that can wait a super long time before they start getting impatient, and you breathe a sigh of a relief when you see them show up in a harder level

Trigons Backup Plan
So! Trigon knew from the moment his Daughter was taken in by the Monks of Azarath that it would be difficult to turn her to his will. He wasn't stupid, he knew just how hard it would be to make his daughter turn on everything she has ever known in her (very short) life.
He can't really blame her, even he believed that indiscriminate mass murder was wrong until his mid-200's, he just needs to wait for her to grow out of it.
But until then he still needs a way into the DC Universe. And if his daughter wouldn't help, then he could always just make a 2nd one.
So, he searches and eventually finds a Couple of Scientists who seem to be good targets. They are researching Magic and Ghosts, so he makes a Demonic Pact with them. He will give them the secrets needed to complete their Research, and in exchange all he asks is that they help him bare a child.
They agree, and Danny Fenton is born.
Danny was supposed to become a Hellmouth when he turned 16, unlocking his Demonic Powers and opening the way for Trigon to enter the DC Universe so he could conquer it.
Instead he managed to get himself killed at 14. Then he managed to come back to life as a Halfa, he got himself adopted by Clockwork, and he usurped the Throne of the Infinite Realms in the span of 1 year, therefore putting himself on the same level as his Father on the cosmic scale.
So there goes his Backup Plan.
Dammit.
...
Meanwhile Raven is panicking. She had been messing around with her Friends when they asked about the Spells she could do, and she off-handedly mentioned that she could cast Family Tracking Spells.
One thing led to another, and they all wanted to know if they had secret family. Then they asked if she wanted to try as well, and for some reason she agreed.
And long story short, she has a little brother somehow. A little brother who is only a few weeks away from turning 16, who doesn't know the Azarathian Spells she learned to prevent his own transformation into a Hellmouth.
Oh shit...
