Gentry, I low key be shipping AFO and Kurogiri in Anyone. How much to make them canon? Or at least to imply they're a thing.

I... Well... I... Listen. While I will admit this would be one hell of an explanation as to why Kurogiri is taking AFO's side instead of Izuku's, Kurogiri is still one of the most responsible members of the group and while he has made a lot of bad decisions in his life (seriously, a lot of bad and dumb decisions), he has his limits.

Kurogiri is the man who has been AFO's taxi service AND bartender since he was 16. He saw all the petty and dumb things that motivated AFO to go from point 1 to point B quickly. He has heard AFO's unfiltered opinions on too many things, including his little brother. And that's before meeting Yami, because let's be serious, anyone getting with AFO also get Izuku in the deal, no matter how much Izuku disagrees with it.

Kurogiri simply doesn't have so little self worth and urge to self destruct to hook up with a yandere nuke who holds grudges like it's an Olympic sport and who will smother anything he loves until they die, unless said something has a quirk about as strong as AFO himself and is willing to murder him.

Tim's stalking escalates 👀 breaks into Jason's safehouse all the time, maybe steals some pair of pants, just rifles through his fridge to see what he eats, maybe even thinks of bringing some food to stock up stuff

Just, Jason is aware that someone is in his home almost daily, but he can never catch that fucker, at first he thought it was bruce but Bruce wouldn't let this much time pass without a confrontation and not daily

The stalking is just normal behavior for Tim- for all the Bats really, but not to the same extent as it is for Tim.

They all traipse all over each other boundaries, breaking into each others places to steal info or tech or sometimes even just a little welfare check.

But Tim takes it to a whole other level; if stalking were an olympic sport, Tim would bring home the gold every time. Dick and Bruce are used to it- after all, its basically how he introduced himself to them all those years ago, breaking into Dick's apartment, and his safe, at the tender age of twelve.

If Jason had known that part, he probably wouldn't have had to jump through so many hoops trying to figure out who the hell was in his apartment all the time.

Look- it's not his fault his mind didn't immediately go to the little freak- he /really/ had no reason to assume it was Tim. At first.

He and Tim aren't /friends/, but they probably have the easiest relationship out of the rest of the Bats. There's a mutual begrudging respect there. And even after beating Tim's ass into the ground so many times over the years, he knows Tim isn't one to hold a grudge, or he wouldn't have bailed Jason out of tight spots so many times since then.

Tim doesn't really bother Jason unless he needs his help, or if Jason's doing something that interferes with whatever Tim is doing. They've managed to work more than a few cases together recently because of the accidental crossover, but it's not like it's something either of them /seek out/.

So yeah, he didn't jump to thinking it was Tim in his place when he noticed it was being broken into, because Tim would just come right to him if he wanted info, and Tim has no other logical reason to really sneak in.

When he first notices his little intruder, he thinks it's Bruce. Maaaaybe Dick. Nothing was missing the first few visits, just some stuff moved around. He wasn't worried about them actually stealing any intel from him, he keeps his shit under some pretty explosive lock and keys.

But it's still annoying as fuck.

He really doesn't need Bruce poking his nose into his daily life- it's not welcome and Bruce should already know that. It doesn't matter that they have a tentative ceasefire- Bruce should know that him breaking in crosses a line that would mean an end to Jason playing so nicely with him.

It's when it keeps happening that he realizes it's definitely not Bruce. The missing food items from the kitchen just /screams/ Dick.

Because of-fucking-course Dickface would break into his place just to make sure he's not doing something he shouldn't and help himself to Jason's food while he's at it.

He didn't think Dick would be so hard to catch in the act though. He's set up various new security measures, both deterants and new surveillance. But he still never catches him.

And he wants the hard evidence if he's going to accuse the golden boy. Last thing he needs is Dick to spin it into some sort of "Jason making excuses to be around him" sort of situation.

He thinks about going to Babs to make sure no one else could get around his new surveillance, but if it is Dick, Babs is more likely to be on his side than Jason's. They aren't together anymore, but they go through these phases where they're weirdly chummy again and right now they're playing besties.

It starts really getting serious to Jason when his clothes start going missing along with his food.

Because, who /the fuck/ is taking his clothes, for god's sake??

It knocks Dick down from the top of the list of probable perpetrators. But who else would he be replaced by at the top of the list? It has to be another Bat, otherwise they wouldn't be able to get through all of his security.

It's only then that he thinks of Tim.

And thinks. And thinks and thinks.

Because seriously- why the fuck is he stealing his clothes?

He has to find out.

So he decides to do some breaking and entering of his own.

Tim's security is good. Levels of security that one would expect from Red Robin all hidden beneath what civilians would expect from socialite Timothy Drake-Wayne.

It's involved enough that reminds Jason of his own measures, and mentally he can't help but give Tim a little pat on the back for getting through all of Jason's security every. single. day. The guy's got patience, Jason will give him that.

He sneaks into the fancy-ass kitchen first, and digs through Tim's cabinets. He deserves to be able to steal some of Tim's food to make up for the little bird's own thefts.

The cabinets are depressingly bare- lots of protien bars and microwavable meals. Alfred would weep if he saw this.

Jason takes a box of protien bars just for the principle of the thing- but really, he almost leaves the kitchen alone because of how sad it is to see.

There's a noise from further inside the apartment, so Jason takes his box of spoils and makes his way out of the kitchen and down the hall. He passes by the spartan living room, walks past the open door of a home office, and a bougie bathroom- he's on a mission, and there's a cracked door at the end of the hall, light spilling out.

Jason assumes it's the master bedroom, based on the rooms he passes on the way. It's definitely where the muffled noises are coming from.

He doesn't want to show his hand just yet, so Jason is careful to stay stealthy and silent as he approaches the door, peeking through the crack-

He nearly drops the box of protien bars at the sight before him.

Tim is leaned back up against his headboard, bare legs spread wide on top of his messy comforter. One hand is down between his legs, holding a dark red silicone dildo, the tip of which is disappearing inside of him, lower lips stretched to accomodate the length as he presses it further inside.

His other hand is covering his mouth, which makes sense as to why the noises Jason heard were so muffled- but it does make him wonder why Tim feels the need to keep himself quiet in an apartment he owns by himself.

Maybe it's a remnant of living at the manor? Or maybe he just likes the feeling of being gagged. Food for thought- but for later. Because the thoughts for now? Well, they're dominated by whats between the sight of Tim's two hands.

Jason's shirt.

One of his Red Hood shirts, actually. It's so big on Tim it nearly swallows him whole, hiding all of the toned muscles Jason knows Tim has. It makes him look younger and more fragile than he really is.

It also makes Jason's pants feel extremely tight.

Suddenly, his missing clothes make sense. Okay. Yeah. This is best case scenario, actually. Far better than Bruce or Dick being the ones breaking into his apartment. /This/ Jason can work with.

i never remember how much i've said about handball fic. QUICK summary is seb and charles are teammates at a french handball club, but when the european championship is coming up they're competing against each other (for team germany and team france) (charles isn't LOVING having the french flag on his chest but it's not like monaco has a national handball team... so it will have to do) here are some thoughts from the doc that i don't even remember writing:

charles is? Left wingman/line player. seb is a centre back court. (others: mick on the german nt is a wingman, pierre on france nt  is a left back player, esteban on the france nt is a goalkeeper. grosjean also a left wing? Carlos (right backcourt) and fernando (lineplayer) play for spain, max for the netherlands, mazepin and kvyat for russia. lewis (used to play at kiel with seb before lewis retired and seb moved to psg) is there as a pundit, doing commentary/tv appearances with various broadcasters. cyril is the coach for the french nt? toto for germany?

the most insane part abt this fic that i've written maybe 1k words for, is the amount of time i spent designing the european championship. and put it all into a spreadsheet. every single game with scores (not just the ones relevant to the plot) and all of the results.... here's a pic just to give u an idea of the extent of my insanity

anyway. it was supposed to be like. this is charles' first international championship, he has a rough time the first few matches.. keeps running into seb (but doesn't actually play against germany until the semi-finals) and has a BIG FAT CRUSH on seb (which does not go unnltixed by pierre, his childhood friend and roommate, who is infuriated by this bc 1) rn he's the ENEMY charles and 2) once when pierre's team played seb's team in a champions league game seb had a pretty bad foul against pierre and pierre still holds a Grudge) and then seb reaches out to help him with some of his problems despite them being rivals.... and then just going thru the epic highs and lows of international sporting events together:')

other than than that i don't really have anythinf new to share with u.... my handball obsession only comes around twice a year (december for the womens championship and january for the mens. and then every fourth year it's three times a year bc of the olympics) SO maybe i'll get back to thinking about it in december... until then have the two snippets i've posted here and here 🥰

Ohh I love your recent school recruitment headcannon. May I add the idea that the school also promotes their elite sports department. The superfriends are ribbing Lena over the posh sports like croquet and lacrosse only to be shook when the fencer they’ve just watch trounce their opponent removes their mask (think motorcycle helmet take-offs) revealing a victoriously smirking Lena - hair flowing and sweaty glow. The voice over says she’s an Olympic hopeful. They all stare at her in awe, mouths agape, impressed, intrigued and a little intimidated.

Oh for sure. Especially if the fencing thing is from a newer recruitment video with a 'where are they now' segment featuring star alumni, so Lena is a little older when she takes off her fencers mask/helmet thing and shakes out her hair. Which 100% would be the sexiest thing Kara has ever seen and would make her melt on the spot.

And the others would just go "whoa whoa whoa... wait. what? you were an olympic hopeful??"

At which point Lena would sheepishly have to explain that she was once an elite athlete but was picked over for someone who, yes, beat her, but also was less consistent. So there's a little bitterness at the system but she doesn't hold a grudge against the other fencer, since she was just as shocked as Lena when she was selected.

2. What are their favourite possessions? Why? (sentimentality, history, price, etc)

Henry's favourite possession is his P.C. setup, since it cost a lot of money and he built it himself, but also because it allows him the freedom to work remotely. He also has a very nice knitted blanket that he bought for himself when he first moved in, when he was doing better financially, and he makes a point of taking very good care of it.

Lucy actually doesn't find herself getting overly attached to her possessions. Everything she owns could be lost in a fire and she wouldn't really mourn anything. She'd be pissed that she'd have to start her flannel shirt and funky sunglasses collections from scratch, but that would be it.

Donnacha's favourite possession is simply his PlayStation 4. It brings him a lot of joy and stress relief, and also gives him a cosy rush of nostalgia for the good old days when he and his sister would wake up early to play games together, before rugby and school became the huge focuses of his life.

13. How forgiving are they? What do they consider unforgivable?

Henry is fairly forgiving. He's a deep thinker himself and he's always open to considering the viewpoints and philosophies of other people, and even if he doesn't fully agree with them, usually finds a way of seeing where they're coming from. The only thing he really finds unforgivable is discrimination fueled by hate.

Even though she's well-versed in human psychology and, like Henry, can often bring herself to understand other people very deeply, Lucy is an Olympic-level grudge holder when she wants to be. Someone truly betraying a friend or maliciously breaking a promise would do it for her.

Donnacha, being a sensitive soul whilst thinking he's the most aloof man on the planet, will religiously hold a grudge over any damage dealt to his feelings. If something is serious enough to have hurt him, in his mind, it must be something absolutely unforgivable, and he will be indignant about it until the end. He's been known to cut ties with friends (in school) because they said unfavourable things about his favourite sports players.

15. How good are they at conversation? Are they a small talk master, bad at initiating, etc?

Henry is blessed with the ability to convince anybody to talk endlessly about themselves, so when he's on dates or meeting someone for the first time, he comes off as extremely charming, whilst on the inside he's an anxious mess. He struggles to bring up or discuss heavy topics, though, and he'll stammer around the point for a long time before anyone realises what he's getting at.

Lucy is a social chameleon, doesn't embarrass easily, and can get a good read on someone within a few seconds of meeting them, so she can insert herself into or initiate any conversation imaginable. She usually avoids small talk and heads straight to the point with a firm voice that others find soothing.

Donnacha comes from the Irish countryside, where small talk about the weather and the crops and who's dead in the parish comes as natural as breathing, and he rarely struggles to strike up a conversation with anyone. He's also quite smooth at transitioning into more serious topics and getting to the point, though he does rush it sometimes.

16. What food do they absolutely hate?

Henry can't eat kebab meat after a terrible experience in the early days of living in the house. He also hates soup; he can't stand the feeling of "eating" something that's actually liquid.

Lucy hates olives, and has been known to throw a tantrum when their pizza place accidentally added olives one time. The flatmates refer to that night as Olive-geddon.

Donnacha hates a lot of things, honestly. He hates most kinds of fish, though he'll force it down if he has to. He's especially terrified of sushi, though he's never tried it. Trying new food puts him on edge; basically, venturing outside of the typical five or six meals he eats every week is unpleasant for him.

28. Describe their morning routine.

Henry's morning varies widely, depending on his work deadlines, levels of pain. If he's free or doesn't have a set/upcoming deadline, he usually sleeps right through the morning because he was up late, either gaming or watching shows or just being in pain. If he needs to start work early, he sets his alarm for thirty minutes before he needs to be up, just to prepare himself mentally and physically. He forces himself to walk to the shower, both to get his body moving and to wake up his brain. If he has the capacity, he brushes his teeth and/or shaves, but he does sometimes neglect these tasks. He then usually has just enough time to get dressed and towel his hair before he has to be in his desk chair.

Lucy has perfected the art of waking up at the last possible second and getting everything done in under ten minutes. She rolls out of bed and starts playing some music on her phone as she throws herself into some clothes (she showers at night). She brushes her hair or lets out her braids if she slept in them, ties it in a ponytail or a bun. Brushes her teeth at the kitchen sink because someone's usually in the shower. Makes herself a coffee in a mug (if she's staying in) or a travel cup (if she's heading out).

Donnacha has never broken the habit of waking up like he used to when his mother got him up for school. He wakes up an hour before he needs to leave for college, gets in the shower and shaves and brushes his teeth, then goes to the kitchen to make a cup of tea and either some toast or a bowl of cereal. He does all of this in under twenty-five minutes. So he ends up lying back on his bed or sitting on the couch, watching the news or just scrolling on his phone, until it's time to leave.

I think some of it is his fans trying to put him in conversations most people m don’t think he belongs in. Like he is a very good player, a star, but not a superstar. Celtic fans want to put him in the Luka, Jokic, now Wemby category of the new gen of best players in the nba and future faces of the league once Lebron and Curry retire, but a) he isn’t as good as those guys and b) he is on a superteam unlike them. Yes he has had success in the playoffs, more than someone like Luka with one finals and one ring, but you could argue he wasn’t even the best player on the team but Jaylen Brown. The way the Celtics are constructed he is closer to being a role player than a superstar (and that speaks on what a good job their management has done on putting together a group). He also has spoken a lot of Kobe which made some people angry cause he doesn’t really have the charisma to pull off the “mamba mentality” bit, and yeah the cringy unoriginal celebration didn’t help 🥴

I think it’s also worth mentioning that the nba is one of the few places where being white plays against them, cause it’s such a historically black dominated sport they look down some on white boys getting to that level. You have to be generational like Bird or Luka for it to not play a factor in how some fans doubt you cause of being white. It was even a topic for Steph when he first started really coming into people’s radar and he isn’t even white but lightskin…

Yeah, I did notice his fans being very annoying and triggering all the wrong people. I noticed that during the Olympics too when he wasn't getting the minutes they thought he deserved when he himself seemed unbothered and was just happy to be there. A fanbase really can work against their own favs at times it's insane. I do see why people would be annoyed with the Kobe thing too, he really does need to learn to just be authentic I think people would like him much more. The celebrations thing was soooo hard to watch tho especially the we did it part 😭😭 he seems like a great guy, he really does not need to do all that and people still need to lay off him 😭😭

Speaking of Luka tho, I think he's incredible but what's his fans' issue with Steph? 😭😭 Like I see so many of them hate on him unprovoked and I'm just confused.

The fact that Steph got so much hate for being light skin is still crazy to me and he's not even mixed 😭😭 that Perkins guy saying he hates him because he has green eyes or whatever is so??? Like what the hell??? You're a whole "professional" pundit. I feel like Steph got so much stick from his peers throughout his career simply because he reached heights a lot of them can only dream of despite being "undersized" and not playing the game the way they're used to. Like you can see how so many of them genuinely hold a grudge against him because of it.

           Caroline was looking at the ass end of a chicken hatching a nest of rattlesnakes. The longer she stared at the hideous painting, the more she was reminded of the proverb, “A fool and his money are soon parted.” She’d added a lot of unflattering adjectives to her parents’ employers over the years, and ‘fools’ was the kindest. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are competing figure skaters, due to compete at the Olympics against one another.

Everyone thinks they’re heated rivals, and there’s definitely heat there—just not the kind people think. They have to hide their relationship for a variety of reasons.

Then the unthinkable happens: Lan Wangji is assaulted on his way to meet Wei Wuxian, by someone who is obsessed with Wei Wuxian and holds a grudge against Lan Wangji for edging him out of qualifications years earlier, Jin Zixun.

Everyone seems to believe Wei Wuxian was behind it, that he lured Lan Wangji out to be assaulted: the Lans, the Jiangs, the media. He’s banned from the sport. By the time the truth comes out, that Jin Zixun acted alone, Wei Wuxian has disappeared, convinced Lan Wangji believes it was him, disowned by the Jiangs, and deeply depressed.

Lan Wangji recovers and skates like a man possessed, but refuses to speak to the media and is frosty toward all, even his relatives.

It takes 13 years for them to find each other again, as scandal again takes center stage at the Olympics with a doping scheme that smells again of the Jins…

(I know nothing about figure skating. But I remember the Nancy Kerrigan attack and subsequent media frenzy from when I was a kid, and the chaos and heartache regarding the poor Russian girl this year made this prompt come to life.)

Okay, so since I am an archer irl and we can't train because pandemic, I'll rate the "Bow and Arrow" emoji

The feathers are okay although only two seem to be there, and the recurve-style bow is cool, but what kind of GIANT arrowhead is that and why is the arrow going through the midpiece?

Shading and lighting okay, 7/10 would probably shoot

Simple, elegant, arrowhead isn't that giant anymore, now probably three or four feathers, that's good, unrealistic cartoonish look but that doesn't have to be bad, the arrow again seems to be going through the bow..

7/10 would shoot if I was a cartoon character

I like how the bow looks, it looks like someone shot this in the 1500s, or how I would imagine it, although the string seems to be attached to the bow with magic. The arrow's shaft is cool, the head i way too big, but the real dealbreaker for me is the way the arrow is attached to the string. The bow seems to be kinda drawn, but the whole feathers are behind the string?? 3/10 would not recommend

This one's obviously not made to look realistic, but so people know what it's supposed to mean (I mean that's the whole point of all of them, but this one makes that part clear). The black outline is okay, since it's supposed to be clipart, and all in all cool design, but again it seems to be drawn in such a weird way, that the feathers are waaay to far behind the string. 6/10 would use if clipart-person and not confused

Best one so far. While it seems to be the unofficial child of Apple and Google, it's the first one to actually show that the arrow doesn't belong shoved into and through the bow, the head is massive, but that doesn't outweigh the good shading and cool feathers, 8/10 top

Damn you're shooting your own friends and allies? The enemy is to the right! The shaft seems to be made from metal, so this bow is one of the more modern ones. While there's no shading whatsoever, it at least shows that the arrow is not impaling the bow or going through it, buut the string seems to be attached in a weird way that doesn't sit right with me. 4/10 I don't really like it

Man Apple and Google should've used protection more often! Giant head, the biggest one so far, impaled bow, string and feathers in the right places, shading and coloring done in a cartoonish-realistic way. I don't hold any grudges against this one, 5/10

I love it! This is one I could imagine seeing used by someone who does archery for sports on 3D targets in a forest. The feathers are ones like those I use, you can see the arrow doesn't impale the bow, the string is in the right place, the arrowhead has a realistic size for a hunting head, I don't think anyone would shoot that one on olympic FITA targets, but I think this one is designed by someone who actually shot a bow before! 9/10 hard to surpass

After receiving the title of Honoured Coach of UZB she wants to open her own gym even more. The president promised to make this happen, and that it will be the best club around.

They show the silly dance she does on her Insta at the meeting of the President & UZB team and says that shows her typical daily mood - she's very a very positive & happy person

They ask whether the title makes up for the incident with the flag at the OG. She says you can't relate the two. She's not the person to hold a grudge and has let it go and moved on.

Her brother did gym and started taking her with him she she wouldn't be at home alone. For the first while she trained with the boys because she liked it better with them. When she was 8 she moved to the girls group.

It's just coincidence that she ended up in gymnastics as she doesn't have a sporty family, had never seen gym on TV or watched the OG. When people asked her as a kid what she wanted to be she would say "a policeman" as she had no concept of being a gymnastics champion

She was first noticed by the national team at the Komsomolka competition in Tashkent, a jnr comp for KMS level, she thinks in 1987. Aleksandrov was the head coach at that time. She won the AA and was invited to Round Lake for the 1st time

She actually didn't like the 1st training camp at all. It was a different regime and expectations, and she also felt the other girls weren't very nice. Now she understands that it was because it was very competitive to get on the team

When the USSR collapsed she never had any thoughts about going to compete for Russia. She came back to UZB and only thought about competing for them. Her parents were actually working and living in Russia, but she stayed in UZB

Her coach was in UZB, she had grown up as a gymnast there. She never actually wanted to compete for another country.

She's asked what kind of official privileges etc her titles have granted her and she's not sure! She says she will find out as now she has time to :) She knows that you do get a lifetime pension for titles and Olympic medals.

Toyota was the sponsor of the Bundesliga club she was competing for at the time her son was ill & provided the guarantee for him to get a place in the hospital. They needed this in case they didn't manage to raise the funds to prove that the cost of treatment would still be paid.

After she got her citizenship there was never any pressure on her to compete and win medals for Germany, it was completely up to her whether she wanted to or not.

Her coach in Germany was Zhanna Polyakova who is originally from BLR. Oksana credits her with teaching her how to get enjoyment from and love gymnastics.

She always planned on returning to UZB once her son was better. The host says many people might be surprised at this decision after having lived in Germany. She felt the opposite :) She loves Tashkent & adores UZB, it's her home.

There was no issue transferring back to competing for UZB, Germany gave the release and UZB accepted, no animosity from Germany for leaving and UZB happy to have her back!

She just knew Tokyo would be her last time competing, and not that she doesn't love gymnastics any more, just that it was time.

Oksana thanks the host for being the first to name & describe all her own elements correctly! She explains that most of them came about spontaneously, ie doing the twist in the 1st salto wasn't working so they tried it on the 2nd.

They never purposefully tried to be innovative, didn't always know if they were the 1st person to do it etc.

She is asked to explain how difficult her skills are to the layperson. She uses the HS 540 vault as an example and says there are only about 5 people in the world who do it. Asked to name them, she says Moreno, Steingruber, the Korean gymnast, Akhaimova & her.

She doesn't consider herself a legend or a hero. She's a person who does something she enjoys. Asked how she would label herself in the sports world she says "just a good person".

Her decision to finish after Tokyo felt easy until her last performance when she got the standing ovation and had tears in her eyes. Then she realised it wasn't that simple! [I'm gonna cry again 😭😭😭]

Re flag incident. Still doesn't know the reason that happened & so doesn't have much to say. Thinks if they weren't sure they shouldn't have announced it. Athletes are sensitive, take things to heart and that the officials didn't think about how much that could affect someone.

She cried a lot that night and was really upset about it. It's still very painful, and you could see it in her eyes in the interview :(

It did affect her performance. She didn't have the same fire in her eyes & same adrenaline as usual. During the OG she didn't read any media about her etc. Mentions she spoke with Nemov, Boginskaya later - they know her well enough to leave her alone at the time.

The host compliments her and says she saw all the photos of her with the RUS, USA team etc at the OG and that she looks amazing. Oksana says "I know!"

She jokes about how in warm up etc the younger gymnasts are so respectful to her, sometimes they offer for her to go ahead of them etc and it's like letting elders get on the bus first :)

Her plans now are to live a full life, open her gym and enrol kids, raise new stars, and enjoy life.

Asked about current situation with gymnastics in UZB she says they have good juniors and so it's okay. Explains its very hard to qualify a team. Doing so for 2024 isn't realistic but they will try to do so by 2028.

She will try to enrol as many kids as possible at her gym as she knows the more you start with, the better chance that some will continue to a high level.

She names upcomers in UZB as Dildora Aripova, Anastasiya Mishnichenko and also that they have new seniors next year so should have a full team at the Asian Games.

Asked what is the meaning of life. Oksana struggles to think of an answer, but decides it is to make the world a kinder place. It's not sport, that's a hobby. She knows that people are kind, just sometimes they don't know it themselves :)

I tend to stay quiet and avoid the drama cause I enjoy the sport and I don’t get why people get so twisted about someone they don’t personally know. I’ve seen some of your response to asks and kind of just thought I’d share my opinion too.

I grew up watching F1 because of my dad and there was always some kind of controversy tbh. Some drivers were controversial, some titles were controversial, some races were. Controversy is pretty much guaranteed in this sport… in any sport tbh. I mean, the Winter Olympics are currently on and there have been controversies over some of the medals. Football literally has a different controversy every week it seems, and not even small ones. There are some players who have committed crimes and I’ve seen some drivers get more hate than them. I think people forget that. I think people base too much of what they see in those small interviews and (often out of context) radio clips, interpret it a certain way, and believe that represents the entire person… which I have no doubts barely represents a quarter of who they really are.

But over the past few seasons, I have noticed that online has become more toxic and hateful. i personally have noticed it getting worse since DTS became a thing. It’s like it helped bring a certain type of fan. I’m not saying all fans are like that who watch DTS but it’s just something I’ve noticed. I know so many fans that avoid Twitter now because it just seems fans are constantly attacking each other. I’ve seen so many people quit tumblr recently because it’s becoming more and more like Twitter each day and they came here to escape that. I personally don’t come on here very often now because of it. I’m fed up and I don’t like how f1blr has become. You can have your faves and you can have drivers you don’t like, what I don’t get is why you would even want to spend your time and energy hating on someone who will never know you exist. It also baffles me because the drivers themselves don’t seem to hold a grudge against each other and are at least civil towards each other (not saying they like each other but they aren’t wishing death on each other) if they aren’t friends.

The ones quitting aren’t just Max fans either because since the end of last year, I’ve noticed way more hate towards him over a decision he had no control over… But I know so many fans of other drivers and just F1 in general who have quit most social media because it just isn’t nice or fun to be part of. They literally keep Instagram and that’s about it.. because it’s easy to avoid looking at hate on there compared to here. It seems people have to constantly defend themselves from over zealous fans who think they need to defend their faves from any online criticism. I mean criticism as well, not hate because some people don’t get that those mean completely different things.

Basically, I hate how online has become for fans and I miss the days where it didn’t seem like constant fights going on.

Hi anon, sorry it took me a day or two to answer but I wanted to be able to respond well and absolutely send your opinions in. Personally for me I do get overly invested in my sports, Barca and Max are my main ones and I won't lie I don't like to see people talk shit about either but I agree in someway I don't understand how people overly twist thing in favour of their fav or make up ship when we know none of these people personally.

I think the reason this season has been getting so much heat is definitely over DTS and also there being so many new people apart of the sport who have never done any research into the past championship where the controversy has been much worse eg 2007 and 2008. And I agree each week there is a new drama happening in the football world. I've seen footballers be banned for fixing matches and there is always going to be high controversy in each sport around the world. I agree a main problem is the radios and interview, I know a lot of people give Max shit because of his interviews and his radios which we need to remember when they are racing they are going to say things out of context in anger because these cars are going so fast their emotions are so high.

i think I saw how bad the site got after Silverstone where there were many Max accounts getting shit and leaving, I think it is a good thing if you don't want to see anything hateful to just spend less time on here cause since Abu Dhabi I don't really go near the main tags only the Max ones expect every once in a while. I don't get the blinding hate people have for drivers when they dont' know them. I have always said I do not hate Lewis cause I don't know him so why should I hate him?? I think the abuse giving to Max since Abu Dhabi has been so personal (some threatening to slit his throat and some saying they wanna punch his face in).

The only reason I have been a bit more vocal these past few days is because I am just sick of it. I know some think we should let it go but I don't see why, I think we should all stop commenting on who fans support and giving people shit for supporting their favs. I hope the site becomes less fighting, hopfully the new season will leave it chill and I hope you feel better on here anon, I really do.
