Elves are such an odd concept. Like, if I was a human in a world where some people get to live for centuries and I won't. At the bare minimum, I wouldn't be having more short lived children. The implications of this are only concerning because some people in the real world do legitimately believe that minute differences in ethnicity justify eugenics if not outright ethnic cleansing. But in a world where elves existed honestly I would hope my own species goes extinct.

Gattaca is a fine movie in other ways but if you have children who will die at the elf equivalent of 20 years that's no different than having real life kids when you know they'll die at literally 20 years old because of a genetic disease.

I think this is my second hottest take of all time.

I've been trying to force myself to like enemies to lovers for three years now. I've read 463 romance/fantasyromance novels and watched nearly 100 romcoms, and enemies to lovers is consistentantly my least favorite trope. I want to like it, because everyone else is so goddamn obsessed. I'm trying to see what everyone else does, but I just don't. I've enjoyed a handful of them, but overall I'm just left unimpressed.

I don't see myself falling in love with enemies to lovers any time soon.

I know I talk and joke about shipping in dungeon meshi a lot but I honestly really like that this is emphatically NOT a romance manga. The only romance id make explicit if I could is Marcille and Falin but even that it's not really necessary for me to appreciate. It doesn't matter. There are more important things to focus on. The fact that im a horny bitch does not detract from my appreciation for a story that knows what it wants to talk about first and foremost and doesn't feel the need to shoehorn in extra romance for no reason.

I know my occasional blackwoodow posting usually has a somewhat glib or meme-y tone, but listen to me. why did annabelle deliver "but can you handle me?" and "I was so looking forward to filling you with spiders" Like That. why is annabelle set up as a parallel to jon to the point where she implies she was deliberately trying to act more like him to make martin comfortable. why is martin's choice to go with her placed directly after a huge fight with his partner, which jon feels as a personal betrayal before talking it through together afterwards. why is the language in mag 196 so sexual. why does she tie him up like a damsel in distress. she fucked that young man.

imogen fumbling shit is just eternally good fodder for memes, alright. and its at least partly BECAUSE of how powerful she is. someone tripping while using a nerf gun? funny. someone dramatically hoisting up an outfit matchin heavy death laser gun and then immediately tripping and landing on their face? phenom. sometimes she goes "GROVEL" and the enemies grovel and we all go "oooooh" and "aaaahhh" and sometimes she just gets fully ignored and gets so huffy and petulant and ineffectually burns a cantrip just to be petty about it. sometimes she smites her enemies into dust with one move and renders a tree in half after threatening and other times she fucking. falls down a flight of stairs and accidentally sets everything on fire. fires a gun at her own team. loses all her hair. turns blue. etc.
