How to Bypass Lockdown Browser
Understanding LockDown Browser: What You Need to Know
LockDown Browser—the digital watchdog of modern education. You sit down, heart racing, ready to take an online exam, and suddenly, your computer transforms into a prison cell; there are ways in which you can Lockdown Browser Bypass to help you navigate this virtual confinement.
But before going into how students deal with LockDown Browser’s restrictions, it’s essential to understand what it is, how it works, and why educational institutions use it.
This blog will cover everything you need to know about LockDown Browser, including its functions, advantages, and limitations, and how students can prepare effectively for their exams.

What Is LockDown Browser?
LockDown Browser is a secure web browser developed by Respondus to prevent cheating during online exams. Unlike regular browsers, it restricts access to external websites, applications, and system functions, ensuring students stay within the exam environment.
Once launched, LockDown Browser disables copy-pasting, web searches, screen recording, and other potential cheating methods. Some institutions pair it with Respondus Monitor, which uses a webcam to detect suspicious behavior.
Designed to maintain academic integrity, LockDown Browser ensures a fair testing environment by preventing students from using unauthorized resources while completing their exams.
Why Do Schools and Universities Use LockDown Browser?
With the rise of online learning, academic institutions face the challenge of ensuring fair and secure testing environments.
To prevent Lockdown Browser Cheating and maintain academic integrity, many schools and universities use this specialized web browser to restrict access to external resources during exams.
Preventing Online Cheating
One primary reason for using LockDown Browser is to prevent students from searching for answers online. Unlike regular browsers, it blocks access to Google, Wikipedia, and other websites, ensuring that students rely solely on their knowledge.
Restricting Unauthorized Tools and Apps
LockDown Browser disables other applications, such as messaging apps, calculators, and note-taking software, preventing students from communicating with others or accessing stored notes.
Maintaining a Fair Testing Environment
By ensuring that all students take the exam under the same conditions, LockDown Browser promotes fairness. It prevents students from gaining an unfair advantage over their peers.
Enhancing Online Exam Security
When combined with Respondus Monitor, LockDown Browser uses AI-driven webcam and microphone monitoring to detect suspicious behavior, further securing the exam process.
Ultimately, schools and universities use LockDown Browser to uphold academic honesty and ensure reliable assessment outcomes.

How to Prepare for an Exam Using LockDown Browser?
If you are wondering how to bypass LockDown Browser, you’re not alone. Many students find using it frustrating, as it restricts access to websites, applications, and other resources during an exam.
Here is how you can prepare with LockDown Browser:
Check System Requirements
Before your exam, ensure your device meets the minimum requirements for running LockDown Browser. Using an outdated system can result in compatibility issues, crashes, or other technical difficulties.
Here’s what you need to check:
• Operating System: LockDown Browser supports Windows, macOS, and iPads, but it may not work on Chromebooks or older computers. • Storage Space: Ensure you have enough free disk space to run the browser smoothly. • Updates: Keep your operating system and LockDown Browser updated to the latest version. Some issues arise simply because of outdated software. • Permissions: Grant necessary permissions for LockDown Browser to access your camera, microphone, and internet.
By verifying these system requirements in advance, you minimize the risk of technical glitches during your exam.
Install and Test the Browser
Never wait until exam day to download and install LockDown Browser. Many institutions provide a practice test for students to familiarize themselves with the software—take advantage of it!
Steps to Prepare:
• Download LockDown Browser from your school’s official website to ensure you get the correct version. • Install the software and follow the setup instructions carefully. • Take a practice exam (if available) to identify and resolve potential issues. • Check your webcam and microphone if Respondus Monitor (webcam monitoring) is required.
Testing the browser beforehand allows you to troubleshoot technical issues before the exam rather than during it.
Ensure a Stable Internet Connection
A weak or unstable internet connection can disrupt your exam, causing delays, disconnections, or lost progress. Here’s how to ensure a reliable connection:
• Use a wired connection (Ethernet) if possible – It’s more stable than Wi-Fi. • If using Wi-Fi, sit close to the router to improve signal strength. • Disconnect other devices (phones, tablets, gaming consoles) from the network to free up bandwidth. • Avoid public Wi-Fi networks, as they can be unreliable and insecure.
If your internet disconnects during the exam, stay calm, reconnect immediately, and inform your instructor if necessary.
Create a Quiet Testing Environment
Since LockDown Browser may use Respondus Monitor to record you, your exam space should be quiet, distraction-free, and well-lit to avoid unnecessary flags.
Tips for Setting Up Your Exam Space:
• Choose a quiet location where you won’t be disturbed. • Ensure proper lighting so your face is visible to the webcam. • Inform roommates or family members about your exam schedule so they don’t interrupt you. • Remove study materials, notes, and textbooks from your workspace unless explicitly allowed.
A distraction-free environment helps you focus and prevents potential flags from the monitoring system.
Close Unnecessary Applications
Before launching LockDown Browser, close all other programs and browser tabs to prevent conflicts with the software.
• Disable background applications such as messaging apps (WhatsApp, Discord, Slack), screen recording tools, and cloud storage programs. • Turn off pop-ups and system notifications to avoid distractions. • Restart your computer before the exam to clear unnecessary background processes.
LockDown Browser may flag or even crash if other applications run, so ensure your system is dedicated entirely to the exam.
Final Thoughts
Instead of searching for ways to bypass LockDown Browser, focus on preparing properly to avoid stress and technical issues.
By checking your system requirements, testing the browser, securing a stable internet connection, and setting up a quiet environment, you can ensure a smooth and successful exam experience.

“There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin.”
Bat boys x reader:Giving birth unexpectedly!
This is a filler headcannon. I will post works next week hopefully. This is inspired by the way i had my son;In our car in a campsite😭😭.wrote this while my partner and son are asleep (Finally.)💛Enjoy!!
Bruce Wayne –
Gives birth in the Batcave during a lockdown
• Bruce has contingency plans for everything. Protocols. Staff. Medical equipment. Even a direct line to the best OB-GYN in Gotham, complete with a private hospital suite prepped and waiting.
• So when you go into labor two weeks early during a surprise cave lockdown triggered by a bio-threat alert, Bruce realizes just how little plans mean in the face of reality.
• “Of all the days to trip the emergency security seal…” he mutters while trying to override the system that locked down the Batcave.
• You’re pacing in the command center, gripping his arm mid-contraction, and Bruce—THE Batman—is rattled. Not visibly. But his jaw is tighter than steel, and his voice keeps lowering into that clipped, deadly tone.
• “The ventilation systems are sealed. Medical wing is sterile. We’ll stay here.”
• He clears the armory’s examination table, then covers it with sanitized cloth from the medkit. Everything becomes clinical—measured.
• But then you cry out in pain and fear, and that cold steel in his voice breaks just slightly. “I’m here. You’re safe. I promise you—you’re safe.”
• He’s no doctor, but his hands are steady. He follows the steps like a soldier disarming a bomb, all while keeping your eyes locked with his.
• When the baby finally comes, Bruce catches them with reverence and holds them for a moment before laying them on your chest. “Hello,” he whispers, as if stunned. “You’re early. Just like your father.”
• Once the lockdown ends, Alfred is the first to arrive. He says nothing when he sees the scene—just places a blanket over your shoulders and smiles at Bruce. “Master Wayne, it appears your most impressive legacy has just begun.”
⸻
Jason Todd –
Gives birth in a remote mountain cabin during a snowstorm
• You and Jason were supposed to be taking a quiet getaway in the mountains—no crime, no city noise, just peace.
• But a snowstorm traps you both in the cabin, and you go into labor with no service, no landline, and no neighbors for miles.
• Jason tries to stay calm, but his hands keep flexing like he wants to punch the storm into submission. “You’d think after all the crap I’ve survived, I’d get one weekend off,” he growls while boiling water on the stove and digging out the first aid kit.
• The fireplace crackles as he builds a makeshift birthing space with every warm blanket he can find. He holds you through the worst of the contractions, whispering calming reassurances that are so unlike the man most people know.
• “You’re not alone. Not for a second. I’ve got you, and I’m not letting go.”
• You scream through it. Cry. Curse. And Jason stays right there, steady and strong, letting you dig your nails into him without complaint.
• When the baby comes, he doesn’t even realize he’s crying until you reach up and brush his cheek.
• “They’re perfect,” you whisper.
• Jason looks down at the tiny, red-faced bundle and chuckles—half disbelief, half raw emotion. “You know… I’ve cheated death, escaped hell….but this is the scariest, most incredible thing I’ve ever done.”
• The storm finally ends the next morning. Jason steps out onto the porch with the baby swaddled to his chest, looking out over the snowy mountains and whispering, “No better place to start over.”
⸻
Tim Drake –
Gives birth in the WayneTech server room during a tech emergency
• Tim was showing you around the newly renovated WayneTech R&D floor when the unthinkable happens: a massive tech breach hits the servers, and your water breaks at the same time.
• Alarms are going off. The elevators are frozen. And you’re gripping a rack of prototype tech while Tim stares at you in utter disbelief.
• “I—uh—okay. Okay. Baby. Yes. Not now, but yes.”
• He immediately drops into triage mode. He reroutes power, uses an emergency system override to lock down the room for privacy, and hacks a medbot to assist.
• You’re lying on a pile of foam floor tiles, breathing through a contraction while surrounded by glowing server lights and the hum of computers.
• “So…this isn’t exactly the sterile birth plan,” you groan.
• “Statistically speaking, no,” he deadpans, then flashes a smile. “But the lighting’s dramatic.”
• He talks you through each contraction, quoting snippets from baby books and software manuals alike, as if he’s compiling his own parenthood operating system in real-time.
• “You’re doing amazing. I don’t know how you’re handling this with only 20% battery and no Wi-Fi.”
• You scream again. “Timothy!”
• “Right, shutting up.”
• When the baby finally arrives, he goes silent. Truly silent. No jokes. Just wide-eyed, overwhelmed wonder.
• “They’re… ours,” he whispers, staring down at this impossibly tiny human like they’re a miracle.
He wraps you both in his jacket and sits on the server room floor with the baby in his arms.
Dick Grayson –
Gives birth in a subway car
• Dick had planned everything. He mapped out the fastest hospital routes, kept emergency bags packed, and even memorized breathing techniques like he was preparing for an Olympic sport.
• But fate has a flair for drama, and on a completely normal afternoon ride through the Blüdhaven subway, your water breaks in the middle of a crowded train.
• At first, you thought it was just a Braxton-Hicks contraction. Dick was even joking about the train delays. Then you grabbed his arm and said, “Dick… I think it’s happening.”
• All the blood drains from his face. “Happening like… happening happening?”
• He immediately takes charge with a surprising level of calm—because behind the charming, goofy exterior, Dick Grayson is a born leader.
• “Alright everyone, I’m going to need some space. My partner is about to give birth. Please—back up and someone call emergency services.”
• Someone tries to film, and Dick glares. “Unless you want a lawsuit and a shattered phone, put it down.” The phone disappears instantly.
• He helps you lie down on a bench in the mostly-cleared car, cushions your head with his jacket, and holds your hand like a lifeline. “I’m right here. I’ve got you.”
• Between contractions, you keep asking if the train is moving. It isn’t. Power outage. Of course.
• “You had to propose to me on a rooftop, and now our baby’s coming in a subway,” you groan.
• “What can I say? We’re just a very public transit family.”
• You scream at him to stop making jokes. He doesn’t. It’s the only thing keeping him sane too.
• When the baby is finally born, the train lights flicker back on—almost poetic. Dick holds them like the most precious thing he’s ever touched.
• “Hey, little one. Welcome to Blüdhaven Underground.”
• When help finally arrives, you’re both surrounded by a circle of subway strangers who are all a little teary-eyed.
• Dick doesn’t let go of either of you for hours. “I’ve done a lot of things in tights and under pressure… but nothing as incredible as this.”
⸻
Damian Wayne aged!up
Gives birth in an art gallery during his solo exhibition
• Damian, now 26, has traded the Robin mantle for a quieter life—he’s a respected artist known for surrealist pieces that blend traditional Middle Eastern motifs with Gotham’s harsh modernity.
• You’re 8 and 1/2 months pregnant when he unveils his latest collection in a sleek, intimate art gallery downtown. The night is supposed to be a celebration of his evolution as a person and creator.
• But the gallery is warm, and crowded, and you’ve been on your feet all night admiring his pieces with other guests. That’s when you feel the sharp, unmistakable pain of labor.
• “Damian,” you whisper, grabbing his hand. He thinks you’re just tired until you add, “It’s happening. Now.”
• His whole face changes. Not panic—just immediate, tactical focus. “We need to leave. Now.”
• But the contractions are fast and furious. You’re not making it to the hospital. A horrified gallery intern runs to grab supplies, while Damian helps you to the quietest room—a stark, white-walled exhibit space filled with his paintings.
• Ironically, the piece behind you is called Rebirth.
• Damian sheds his jacket and lays it beneath you. He calls Talia first—yes, his mother. Say what you will, she knows how to keep her cool in chaos.
• “She’ll be fine,” Talia says over the phone. “Trust her. Trust yourself.”
• He gently presses his forehead to yours between contractions, speaking to you in soft Arabic—his most vulnerable, instinctual language. “You are strength. You are life.”
• He coaches you through the birth with focused determination and awe. When the baby arrives, it’s quiet for a moment… then a cry. He exhales shakily.
• The first thing he does is lay the baby on your chest, whispering reverently, “My finest creation.”
• Someone tries to enter the room, and Damian growls, “You will not disturb them.” The door shuts. Fast.
• Later, he paints a piece inspired by that night—an abstract image of you and the baby, surrounded by the negative space of a blank canvas. He titles it Origin.
• “I thought my art was complete,” he says quietly, holding your hand. “But nothing I ever make will compare to the life we just brought into this world.”

Gym Rat Miguel Part 13
content warning: alcohol, drugs, 18+ so MDNI, food play??, fellatio, cunnilingus
word count: 5.8k (YAY FOR MY BETA! @slushycoookie )
:)
Prev | Next ✩°。 ⋆⸜ 🎧✮ Masterlist
GymRat!Miguel who starts the week with hope in his heart.
He was reaching a new milestone in his life and he was really looking forward to seeing you. He’s even started to cross off the days on his calendar as he gets closer to the date. Never mind the fact that midterms were right around the corner.
At this point, the reserved rooms in the library had his and Xina’s name imprinted on the sign-up sheet. He was confident about his progress in his classes while Xina was triple checking everything.
“I swear to god if I don’t make at least a B on this, I’m going to do commit arson.”
“Do you have any gasoline?”
Xina threw her pencil at Miguel while he snickered and dodged.
GymRat!Miguel who noticed that Xina was taking a liking to these brighter sets. The shirt she was wearing right now looked a lot like the one you wore on you all’s anniversary.
GymRat!Miguel who has been texting you as much as he could because he knew your critiques were coming up. You’ve been sending him progress of your work and the occasional paint covered hand. He didn’t know how you got yellows and charcoal on your face, but it was cute and he saved every picture.
GymRat!Miguel who is laughing at his a clip that Gabriel sent him when Xina grits out his name.
“I know you might be free to live, laugh, love, or whatever, but some of us have tests coming up.”
Miguel places his phone down, “I have tests, too.”
“It doesn’t look like it.”
“What’s with you all of a sudden?”
“Nothing,” she breaks the lead of her pencil with how hard she’s writing across the page.
“Xina, I’m sure you’re going to do great on your tests. You’re stressing yourself out over nothing. If this is how you’re like now, the finals are going to take you out.”
“I really need to pass. Some of these tests are, like, 30% of the grade.”
“And like I said,” Miguel laid his head on the table. “You’re going to do great. Trust yourself a bit more.”
Xina flit her eyes from Miguel back to her notes, a flutter in her eyes.
GymRat!Miguel whose phone is on lockdown for the next two hours as per Xina’s request so he was now in line for snacks and drinks.
He was thinking about getting something sweet, a reward for finally finishing one of his papers and the write-up for his game.
“Migster! It’s such a coincidence seeing you here.”
Miguel tenses, that shrieking voice recognizable anywhere.
“Aaron,” he turns with a polite smile.
“Grabbing some munchies for you and your girlfriend? Where is she by the way?”
Miguel shifted his eyes to him in his peripheral and back to the bread on display.
“You’ve never seen my girlfriend.”
“Don’t act all shy, now!” Aaron nudges Miguel’s side to which he doesn’t budge. “You guys look cute together.”
He couldn’t recall a single moment where you picked him up from his robotic team meetings, the engineering building, or the science building where he could see it.
Miguel looked down at him and curled his lip a bit, “Are you stalking me?”
Aaron let out a bird-like laugh, voice making the people in front of him jump, “You’re really a riot. Dude, she’s always outside of the building waiting for you. She gave me an invite to your birthday party?”
He leans in even closer, “You’re not cheating on her are you?”
Miguel stepped forward, the line decreasing and Aaron following him like a lackey.
“That’s not my girlfriend.”
Aaron snickered, “Could have fooled me.”
GymRat!Miguel who returns to the private study room with a knot in his stomach.
He places down a sandwich and a latte for Xina and taps on his own cup of coffee.
“Can I have my phone back?”
Xina slid it back without a fight, “Don’t distract me.”
He checks his phone and it’s only emails from school and a reminder to buy protein powder.
He guesses you’re busy again.
GymRat!Miguel who fights through the beginning of the week just to breathe by the time his birthday gets here.
Peter wakes him up with a mini confetti cannon and a lit cupcake that almost burns through his comforter.
They both panic for a few seconds as they beat the life out of the fabric and Peter looks shameful before he runs to his last midterm.
GymRat!Miguel who sees that his brother has dropped a saxophone rendition of “In Da Club” and dedicated it to Miguel on his TikTok.
The comments are full of praise and begging to see Miguel.
GymRat!Miguel who doesn’t have any messages from you yet.
There’s two from his mom, one from his dad and Tyler, some sporadic messages from his abuela, celebratory words from The Geek Squad, an email from his Steam account, a bunch of messages from Xina, and nothing from you.
Miguel’s shoulders wilt, thumbs flicking through his phone.
The countdown he started stared back at him.
GymRat!Miguel who didn’t really do anything special outside of his normal routine.
Get up. Exercise. Breakfast. Rest. Think about you.
Was his last birthday this uneventful?
GymRat!Miguel who dresses up a bit for this party that Xina insisted on having.
He looks in the mirror and adjusts the chain on his neck and smooths down his jean jacket. He doesn’t feel any different from yesterday, but he does feel like a loser for moping all day.
He should be thankful that he has friends and family that reached out to him. He should be thankful that Tyler slid him a nice amount of cash. He should be thankful that Xina is going out of her way to celebrate with him.
He still wishes you would have called.
GymRat!Miguel who hears the party as he’s walking up the stairs to the apartment door. He doesn’t know what to expect, but knocks on the door with fated breath.
GymRat!Miguel who is pulled into the party and given the ugliest birthday hat he’s ever seen by a guy he vaguely remembers from the gym.
He turns to the crowd and shouts, “The Birthday Boy is here!”
Everyone in the room shouts and cheers, patting him on the back as he weaves through the sea of people.
A beer was placed in his hand and noisemakers were blown past his ears. He smiled a little at the chaos and yelled thank-you’s over the noise.
GymRat!Miguel who saw some familiar faces once he got to the living room of the apartment. Margo was inching further away from Aaron as he laughed at something with a grimace on her face.
She looked up as Miguel came closer and jumped from the couch.
“Miguel!” She gripped his shoulders. “I am so glad to see you here. Let’s go to the balcony.”
She uses Miguel like a bulldozer moving past people drinking and dancing.
As they make it outside, she thanks him.
“Aaron is entirely incapable of reading the room or shutting up. You just saved me from hearing him mansplain the mechanics of Mario Party while Doritos fall from his mouth.”
Miguel smiled apologetically as she shoved a gift bag in his hand.
“And this was a nice experience! But I want to catch a game update that happens at 2am, and I need some shut eye.”
“You’re leaving already?” Miguel huffs, weight shifting in his stance.
“I’m sorry, Miguel. I’ve been here for a while and there’s only so much grass I can take in my clothes before the shots wear off. Also, a couple has been eyeing me since I walked in, and the guy looks sinister. I’ve got to go home.”
Miguel furrowed his brow, “Need me to drive you home?”
“I’m ok. I’ll text you. Enjoy your gift!”
She hugs Miguel and books it, ribbons in her braids trailing after her.
He opens the bag and laughs when he catches the card with a dad joke staring back at him.
GymRat!Miguel who really has no clue who majority of the people standing around are.
He’s chatted with a few people and pushed away a couple of wandering hands, but outside of Margo and Ben, who was currently dancing on top of the table like a video vixen in between some girls, he hasn’t really found anyone.
There was a coarse smell that ran through the apartment. He wasn’t sure if it was because the amount of sweaty bodies pressing against each other or because of the mix of mango pineapple smoke and something else he couldn’t pick up.
The music was rattling his bones and the hairs on his skin were standing upright. Everywhere he turned, someone was there and the weight of it was becoming too much. His height could allow him relief if the ceiling didn’t feel like it was caving in.
He got to a bathroom, praying for a break, only to be met with someone sliding their nose across the counter and another person at their side sitting on the toilet. He closes the door with a panic and shuffles to the kitchen.
It’s a small break, the people lingering around the island laughing over red solo cups. He reached for his phone, heart pumping through his veins as he runs across your name in his phone.
“Nuh uh,” Miguel’s phone is snatched from his hands. He’s about to panic until he sees who it is. “Tonight, you’re living in the moment.”
“But-”
“No buts! Only shots and smiles!” Xina pocketed the device. “Now, let’s have some fun.”
She smiles at him and grabs his arm, chest pressing up against his as she leans towards his face. He can smell the alcohol on her breath before he attaches the back of his hand onto her face.
Xina stumbles back, “So I can’t kiss you on the cheek now, either?”
“No. You haven’t done that in years and you’re drunk right now. Give me my phone back, please.”
“At least enjoy the party a little first. There’s,” she glances over to the middle of the island, “was…cake for you.”
Miguel follows her gaze to a mostly eaten cake with a part of it with teeth marks. He turns back to Xina who is pouring a shot for him.
She hands him a cup, “Just another hour. Please? I haven’t even given you your gift yet.”
“Forty five minutes and I’m going back to my dorm.”
She jumps up at down, loose straps of her dress sliding down. She pulls Miguel into the crowd with laugh and a shriek.
GymRat!Miguel who tolerates the party for a little longer, but the more he’s here, the more he regrets agreeing to stay.
He lost the stupid hat he got when he came and the beer he had was long gone.
Xina is nowhere to be found for what feels like the fifth time and between her topping off his cup every time she sees him and the guy next to him that looks like he’s about to puke over the floor, Miguel wants out.
Three doors, two heated couples, and face down body in, he finds her room.
No one is here so he steps in and sighs. He sits on the bed and holds his face into his hands.
He could hear some people riling each other up just outside the door and the thumping of a bed against the wall. He checked his watch and saw he was well overdue for his escape.
And you still weren’t here.
GymRat!Miguel who jumps up when the door bursts open, a wide-eyed Xina lighting up.
“Were you waiting for me?” her voice is drawn out, dress haphazard. She hops onto the bed and stretches out with a lazy smile.
“Xina, give me my stuff. I’m not asking again.”
“Ooh, touchy,” she takes his phone from her bra with a pout. “I can’t believe you’re still so tense with all of the alcohol.”
He’s been letting it splash out of his cup all night.
“Some people can hold their liquor,” he takes his phone and checks it. Still, nothing. “I’m leaving. Good night.”
Xina whines out a no as she reaches for him.
“Don’t go,” her words get stuck in her throat. “It’s your big day.”
Miguel looks back her, the colors in her face changing from warm to cool. He grabs a trash can from the side of the room and places it at her beside.
“Get to the bathroom if you can, Xi,” he makes quick work to clip her hair up with a lone butterfly claw. “I’ll check on you later.”
As he slips through the door as the sound of her hurling gets drowned out by the packed apartment.
GymRat!Miguel who is standing outside of the apartment by the stairs and leaning on the wall to catch his breath.
It was all too much.
He wonders how know one has come with a noise complaint yet.
He walks down the steps, the tenseness in his neck amplifying.
“Miguel!”
The way he perks up is almost comical.
You’re standing by his car with a gift bag in your hand and a worried look on your face. He hurries to you and engulfs you in a hug, sticking his nose in the top of your scalp.
“Baby, I thought you forgot.”
“How could I forget?” you push him a little. “And you smell really loud. Were you about to drive back like this?”
“I promise I only drank a beer and a shot-“
“And how come you weren’t answering the phone? I’ve been blowing it up all night. And your location is off.”
Miguel groans, “Xina took my phone.”
“Why does she have your phone? Why did she take your phone?” the tone of your voice was sharp.
“She wanted me to enjoy myself tonight,” Miguel rubbed your shoulders, trying to get you to take the wrinkle from between your eyebrows. “‘M sorry.”
You clicked your tongue and pushed his hands off of your shoulders. Miguel called your name like a plea as you walked around his car to the driver’s side.
“Sorry isn’t enough, Miguel. Something could have happened to you. My mind was going everywhere.”
Miguel followed behind, hands floating and wanting to touch, but not wanting to make you madder.
You turned to him with an irritated look and he shot his hands down.
Even when you’re mad, you’re pretty. Your lips curled up and moved a mile a minute and he just wanted to kiss you. You looked so cozy in your sweater and baggy pants. He wanted to bury his head in your chest and hold you for a while.
Your fingers waved in front of Miguel’s face, “Earth to Miguel. Are you listening to me?”
“Mm hm, I-. We…yes.”
A slew of profanities from one of the apartment balconies passed over you both, the silence between you growing.
You turn your palm over, “Give me the keys. You’re not driving.”
“But I’m fine! I can drive.”
“You’re literally dozing off standing up.”
“That’s because you’re gorgeous, bebé.”
You roll your eyes while Miguel smiles at you and crowds you against the door.
“No. No and no,” you shove his face as he laughs. “Stop being cute and hand over the keys. I’m mad at you right now.”
“No te enojes,” he whispers as your eyes peer up over your glasses. “I don’t want you to be.” (Don’t be mad)
You squish his face in between your hands.
“Then go to the passenger side.”
GymRat!Miguel who sits petulantly in his seat while you try your best to navigate back to his dorm.
“Baby, watch the curb-“
“Miguel, I see the curb. I’m not going to hit it.”
“Ok, but slow-“ his body jerks while as you slam the breaks, “down.”
“I’m driving perfectly, but you should remember this moment so that it doesn’t happen again.”
Miguel’s eyes shifted from the narrow road in front of him to your profile, heart full.
“And how do you drive this big ass thing everyday anyway?”
“I’m a big guy, for starters.”
“Stop talking.”
“Claro, hermosa.”
GymRat!Miguel who grips your hand tight as he brings you back to his dorm.
You’re still fussing at him, but your tone has shifted to a softer one. You wanted him to understand how scared you were.
GymRat!Miguel who is ready to pounce on you once you step into his room but you stop him with a wish for him to take a shower first.
“And then maybe we can cuddle.”
He starts hopping on one foot as he yanks his clothes off one by one, feet tripping over each other as he runs towards the bathroom.
GymRat!Miguel who walks into the room with clouds of steam behind him and a towel wrapped around his lower half.
You’re sitting on the bed with your pants on the floor, a blanket covering you, and Miguel has half the mind to dive on top of you.
As he gets closer, you look up from your phone with a glint in your eyes, “Where are your clothes at?”
“I just took a shower.”
He stands beside the bed staring at you, waiting. You scoot over closer to the wall to give him some room.
“How was the party?” you ask, trying your best to ignore your boyfriend’s muscles relaxing and tensing as he stat down. He tugged you in, laying your head against his chest and your fingers twitched as you thought about squeezing it.
“I hated every bit of it.”
“What happened?”
He maneuvered you so that you were straddling his thighs, your glasses almost falling off in the process.
“It didn’t really feel like a party for me,” Miguel fixes your glasses for you, tucking the handle back over your ear. “There were a lot of people, most of which I didn’t know. Xina was also on and off all night. And you weren’t there.”
“I tried, Miguel, I really did. But my calls weren’t going through. I thought your phone was off or something. Plus, I was getting all of your gift together.”
“What you’d get?”
He has a vice grip on your hips as you lean over to grab the bag from the floor.
You place the gift in front of you, the top of almost hiding Miguel from your view.
His hand flies for the top, throwing the red tissue paper everywhere. He reaches into the bag and grabs the first thing, a bottle of oil with a small note attached.
He looks confused before you explain yourself, “I know sometimes after your bigger workouts, your muscles get tense. This is for when I’m with you and can work those out. It smells really good too. And it’s mostly there because the massage gun I ordered didn’t come in yet.”
Miguel’s grin widens, “This is better.” His mind is short circuiting thinking about you in a masseuse scrub that hugs your body leaning over his back. Or maybe no clothes. He wants that.
You tilt the bag and he pulls out some shirts to which you hold up against his skin after you place the bag to the side.
“I think these will fit nicely,” you nod to yourself more than anything. Miguel likes the texture of it and whatever you think looks good on him.
“Thank you.”
“There’s two more things.”
He rummages through the bag again and pulls out a small box. His eyes focuses on the words.
“Is this,” he flips the box around, “us?”
You nod without saying a word.
In his hands, he holds a blind box that you made, the outside decorated in hearts and stars with your names combined together on the tab.
“This is one of the things that took me so long. I was making it from scratch.”
It was a little figure of you both inside from one of the nights of the yacht party. You made the chocolate boat come to life coupled with the red outfits you were both wearing.
Miguel stares up at you in awe, “I love it. I love it so much.”
“I’m glad. I was scared it was too cliché.”
“To who? I’m going to put it on display and project it on the wall.
He spun the figure around in his hand taking in every detail. You got everything right down to the way his hair fell. Even the box had pictures of figures from other dates and meetups.
“I would like to collect them all.”
“That requires at least two and a half more birthdays.”
GymRat!Miguel who watched you brace him for the last gift.
“Why are you so nervous? What is it?”
“Just, don’t laugh. Actually, no, you’re supposed to laugh. I was delirious when I made it.”
He pulled out a blue box with a transparent top, watching as you spun your thumbs in circles. As he untied the ribbon around it, he could see why you looked like you were about to pounce to the other end of the bed.
In the box lay a bunch of cookies in the shapes of hearts and stars to match the blind box. The ones on top are plain with holes in the middle.
He pulls one out.
“‘Birthday Blows?’”
You seal your lips tight as he reads over the rest of the cookies.
“‘Let Me Crumb On Your Face-’”
“It’s a gag gift-“
“Then let’s do it.”
“What?”
GymRat!Miguel who ensured you that the gift was perfect. At least the movement under his towel showed that he was serious.
Now, he’s sitting against the headboard doing something he’d never thought he would do.
“You’re laughing,” Miguel throbs while you sit back and cackle at his state. “There’s a chocolate chip cookie stuck on my dick, and you’re laughing.”
“I’m sorry!” your shoulders shake as you push up your glasses. “I thought the hole would be big enough when I made it. I underestimated you. I also wasn’t expecting you to actually want to use it.”
Miguel twitched as you pushed the cookie down further, the inside of it melting from the heat. Your eyes were sparkling the longer you stared at him.
“A-Amor, we’ve been apart for too long because you should know that all you have to do is mention it once and I’m in.”
“So,” you rub a finger over the tip and like magic, Miguel was sure to follow. You shuffle your position on the bed watching him get harder. “All this took was an explanation?”
Miguel stuttered out a yes as you ghosted your fingers over his inner thighs. His breath hitched as your gaze stayed on him.
Your sweater was pooling over your shoulders and your thighs filled the space in between his.
You bent and took a bite out of the cookie, humming as the taste hit your tongue. Your fingers dig into his thighs as you lean back up.
“That’s delicious,” you chew with your hand covering your mouth. “I think I did a really good job.”
He moves your hand and follows.
“I wanna try.” Miguel whispers. He’s staring at you with heavy eyes. You smile softly and kiss his cheek, his face leaning into your lips.
You bend down and take another piece, Miguel trailing you as come up to his face. He opens his mouth, eyes going from yours to your lips as you place the piece on his tongue. The sweetness explodes in his mouth once the chocolate hits his senses.
You take a hand to the side of his face as he chews, kissing his lips and licking a crumb off. Your other hand runs up his chest, squeezing at it as you take your lips to his neck.
Miguel groans as you suck his skin, nails scratching lightly behind his ear. His hands grip the back of your t-shirt, fabric stretching in his hold.
You feel him swallow and you kiss near his adam’s apple.
“C’mere,” Miguel guides your face back to his. His kiss is desperate as he opens your mouth, moaning when he can still taste the sugar on your tongue.
Your hands warm him up as they move from his neck to his shoulders, thighs shaking when he holds your tongue in between his lips.
“Let me,” your breaths hits his lips, a whine coating your words, “let me finish.”
He continued to leave long kisses over your mouth, “Keep going, then.”
As you moved to bent to take another bite, Miguel knew you were barely holding on. He feels your breath shudder over him as you take another bite.
His mind was hazy as he watched you focus on freeing him. The heat from your face was radiating off of you and your lips were shining, glasses keeping a tiny fog at the corners.
He grit his teeth as you slid the remainder of the cookie up and off. Your tongue followed the line of chocolate along his shaft, glasses becoming crooked. A dribble of pre-cum escape’s Miguel and he trembles as he watches it blend on your tongue. He still has a mind to take the cookie out of your hand and back on the plastic bag it came out of, your mind too preoccupied to continue your endeavor.
You arch your back, shirt riding up as you take his head into your mouth. Miguel just about cries when you hollow your cheeks. The moonlight coming through the curtains leaves cool lines on your body as if he guided it.
Miguel smooths your hair back as you sink onto him deeper, a load moan escaping Miguel’s throat when you pump him with another hand.
It’s messy and fervent watching you try your best to catch every drop of him and clean the chocolate from your hands and his skin.
Your name is on the roof of his mouth as your lips connect to your grip on him.
What’s more is that your other hand reaches in between your thighs, the sound of you mixing with your hums and constricting throat.
“Mi sol,” Miguel feels like the stars are falling into his room. “Amor, bebé, I can’t take it.”
Everything was overwhelming in the best way possible.
The vision of your body before him, from the way your hips folded onto your thighs to the way your ass moved as you bobbed up and down, was perfect. The way your lips swole to sink onto him felt amazing and your fingers moving from him to yourself only moved him more.
You only moan as you move your hand from his length to the place below, holding him in your grasp. The sound of your throat gagging as you take him all in at once pulls him to the edge. He’s loud enough to where you know his neighbors heard.
A swallow or two before he lifts your head off of him, torso bowing and arching. He springs, convulsing as cum lands on your glasses.
“Shit,” he cries as you kiss the tip, mouth leaving flutters all the way down. Just as always, his mind can’t help but to think, “you’re so pretty.”
His core is sore but it’s nothing that you can’t fix. He takes your glasses off and pulls you up. He replaces your hand on yourself with his, mouth quick to taste him on your lips. Your hands grip at his shoulders as he flips your positions.
He yanks your underwear off, reveling in the way the fat of your thighs move. He wastes no time in bending your body up, one knee digging into the bed and the other foot on the ground as he lodges his face into you.
“Miguel!” you grip onto the edge of the twin mattress trying to find your balance as he starts to indulge in you in place of the cookies.
You’re already so wet and it excites him. He’s sucking your clit in slow motions, rubbing his tongue over the nub at a steady tempo. Your eyebrows are furrowed as your sweater scrunches up.
Miguel grips his arms around your thigh on his shoulders, fingers kneading the flesh. You try to muffle yourself as the sound of Miguel slurping you up gets louder and louder.
“My neck, baby,” you sigh through your whines. Your hands hit the bed then grip his hair and you feel fireworks going off.
He only kneels on the ground, holding your hips so you don’t slide off of the edge. He quickens his pace, tongue sliding into your entrance.
You shake and bend around him as he digs his head deeper, groaning as his forehead meets your stomach.
The ceiling is blurry, your brain not knowing whether to focus on the building slick going down Miguel’s chin or the vibration of his voice thumbing through you.
It could also be his buzzing phone that keeps drifting next to you.
Ignoring it is almost impossible, the feeling of it becoming irritating.
You take his phone in your hand, eyes focusing on the blue light and the pit of your stomach drops when the name flashes across the screen.
“Miguel, stop.”
He looks up like a deer in headlights, face flushed and doused.
“What’s wrong? Did I do something off?”
You shove the phone his face, legs pushing off of him to get away, “I don’t know. You tell me.”
He catches the phone as you sit and opens it. You look over to see what feels like a thousand messages from Xina.
“whete did you to?”
“I can’t bepkwvw you lert mr here”
“Mkguel”
“mgel”
“answer the freaki b phohe”
“I knoq you’ee sgull uo”
“come bacl to ny riom”
“k feel ndytee now”
“beter”
“better”
“i missss u”
“You were in her room?” the bed sheets make a peculiar sound under your palm.
“Only to get away from the party and to look for my phone. She came in afterwards. These,” he places the phone on the bed, “these aren’t what they look like.”
“Then what the fuck does it look like? Because to me, it looks like you’re a liar.”
Miguel’s mouth gapes open and he flounders, not knowing what to say that’ll make you see the truth.
“God,” you climb off of the bed and head to bathroom. He crawls into a run after you, tight on your heels. “I feel so fucking stupid.”
“Amor-”
“Don’t. Just don’t.”
“Baby, please, just listen to me.”
“I’ve been listening to you for weeks, trusting you for weeks, and look where it’s gotten me! You let your ‘friend’ run you and belittle me, so we don’t have to do this shit anymore.”
Miguel’s heart sank as he watched you wipe away at your skin furiously. A stutter fights the words leaving him, “W-What are you saying?”
You brush past him and snatch your clothes from the floor. His strides are wide to meet you.
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that you’re getting what you want.”
“What are you talking about? I-I don’t understand.”
“This has been going on nonstop. Outside of school, when we rain checked, it was her. When we made plans, you’re always mentioning her. You’re spending every moment with her. I’ve been texting and calling you all fucking day, and you say your phone is with her.”
Your fingers press into his chest with every pronoun, his face crumbling at your words.
“I waited things out because I didn’t want to be the girlfriend that makes herself sick over every girl that passes you by, but this is making me insane.”
He says your name with a crack in his voice, “You don’t have to worry about her. I’ll talk to her. I’ll sort things out.”
You pick up your phone and dial a number, waiting only second before the call drops. You do it again, and turn the phone to his face. His name in your phone is there in all caps, one ring, and the call doesn’t go through.
“What was that again about sorting shit out?”
He pinched his brow, lost.
“You can be so,” you looked around like the word was in the room, “stupid sometimes.”
The settings on his phone are opened to his blocked contacts, your name the only one on the list.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding and almost laughed in disbelief at the situation. Your throat was tight as you looked straight at the wall.
“I didn’t do this!”
“Then who did, Miguel?” you wiped a tear from your face just as fast as it fell. You trudged towards the door, limbs heavy as Miguel pulled at them, a bubble of no’s coating air.
“Let me go.”
“Then please don’t go. I don’t know how this happened, but none of it’s true. We can talk. I-I love you. I need you. Mi amor, por favor no me dejas.” (My love, please don’t leave.)
Your sweater almost rips as you pull his arms from around you and grab the door knob, a sob growing at the bottom of your jaw.
“Wipe your fucking face,” was all you said in response as you slammed the door after you.
Miguel watched the door rattle against the hinges in horror, cheeks burning with tears as he scrambled to put some pants on.
He hit his knee as he made a run for the exit, hoping to catch you before you got back to your own dorm. The chill of the autumn night shocking his skin.
The sidewalk was empty, only the scuttle of dry leaves going across the pavement.
In the dark, stood this weeping man who felt like a boy, lost and heaving out, no hope in his heart.

OPERATION: LOCKDOWN - 010 ! rainbow road
pairing -> gamer!riki x beauty influencer!fem reader
synopsis -> you hated gamers. riki hated ulzzang’s (except you). so after weeks of fighting to be the top streamer, (and riki’s poor attempts to charm you), he suggests to collaborate so you could both be number one. you tried to keep it professional. but the more time you spent producing content together, the more you realized just how much nishimura riki really meant to you.
previous <> masterlist <> next

“is it recording?” you whisper to jungwon as he holds the camera up in front of you. he shakes his head in response, before holding up 3 fingers to count down.
“hello yn nation, riki nation, and diors angels enthusiasts alike! this is yn, @/ynschoices or @/ynschoice on all platforms,” you pause, waiting for riki to introduce himself. “and this is riki. @/nishiriki2005 on all platforms.”
“today is episode two of the theme park archives! where essentially, we just go to different theme parks and rate rides, eat good food, vlog, etc etc.” you start off, before gesturing for riki to continue the introduction.
“oh, right! so we are here at universal studios hollywood. as you know, i was the guest on the last episode at disneyland. so of course, we are introducing a new member today.” riki finished, before flashing a slight smile.
you took the camera out of jungwon’s hands, flipping it around so it would face him.
“jungwon nation! this is yang jungwon, @/yanggoyang on streamlab or twitter.” he cheered, while waving, greeting the viewers.
“first, we’re gonna head to super nintendo world. so, l-e-t-s g-o!”
“that’s what we decided to call it? theme park archives?” riki asked as the recording ended. “yeah. don’t worry about it.” you pout.
even though your camera was nearly confiscated, you were still able to obtain a few clips of the three of you on the mario kart themed ride.
one of which, (of course), showed jungwon squealing in delight as you reached the ‘rainbow road’ part of the ride. it was a memory you knew the three of you would be fond of, and one the fans would enjoy.
“so, jungwon, how was your ride experience as a mario kart enthusiast?” riki asked jungwon as he waved the camera in his face.
“it was absolutely amazing! we have to go back before we leave. the rainbow road part was so trippy, but i loved it. 10/10 experience, yn nation, i heavily recommend this ride.” jungwon spoke, tapping the camera lens.
“where should we go next?” you asked, as riki pulled the camera strap over your head, so you could wear it as a crossbody.
“let’s go ride that 3d transformers ride!” jungwon exclaimed.
“i’ll race you there?” riki posed an offer. “okay, 3, 2- hey, not fair! you cheated!” jungwon grumbled as riki ran ahead before the countdown.
you sighed as they raced through the crowd, running to be first before the other. quickly, you tried to pick up the pace, but couldn’t catch up to their speed. especially since they were at an advantage in height. so, you settled to continue speed walking.
but, you stopped when you heard someone call out your name. a girl, appearing to be around 15-17 approached you.
“excuse me yn? im such a big fan. i was wondering if i could get a picture with you? unless you’re in a rush, because if not i totally understand-”
“of course you could. no worries.” you politely ended her rant, before smiling softly.
she pulled out a pocket sized digital camera and posed beside you. “thank you so much, have a good trip! also, i don’t know if this is out of line or anything, but i think you and ni-ki are really cute together.” the girl chuckled, before walking back to her friends.
you left with a smile. riki was definitely gonna hear about this later.
“y/n, can you get me a frozen butterbeer?” riki asked, as he began to pull out his wallet.
“yeah of course. and don’t worry, it’s my treat.” you smiled, before getting up from the bench the three of you sat on. “i’ll be quick.”
riki watched you walk away, making sure you were out of sight. “so listen, jungwon. i’m planning to confess to y/n later, and i kind of want to have her alone for this. so….” he trailed off.
“are you serious? i can’t be left alone!” jungwon pouted.
“we’ll just leave you in springfield! and then we can stop for donuts on the way back home.” riki offered.
“no, i wanna go to k-town in west hollywood.” jungwon negotiated. “that butterbeer maxed out my sugar limit for the day.”
“alright, we can do that.” riki shrugged. “but you should start to get going now.”
“what are you gonna tell y/n?” “just that you met up with some friends.”
“alright. good luck man.” jungwon sighed as he stood up, before patting riki’s shoulder.
soon after, you came back with two frozen butterbeers in hand. “where’d jungwon go?” you questioned.
“he went to meet up with some high school friends by the simpsons ride. but we’ll see him later.” riki shrugged while he took a sip from his cup.
“let’s go on the jurassic park water ride then?” you suggested.
“look at the dinosaurs!” you exclaimed. “they’re just robots..” riki huffed, as the ride came to a stop, before making a sharp turn.
“you’re such a pessimist riki.” you rolled your eyes.
suddenly, the ride progressed into a more indoor atmosphere, and the lights flashed red.
“you know there’s a drop, right?” you informed.
“how high?” “about 90 feet.”
“shit.” riki cursed under his breath.
now or never. he thought.
“y/n, there’s something i wanted to tell you. and i didn’t know how to say it, but now i do.” riki confessed.
“what did you wanna say?” you hum.
the ride accelerated, progressing quickly towards the dark tunnel at the end of the scene.
"i wanted to tell you how much i like you. and that i was hoping you'd feel the same." he spat out in one quick breath.
you turned to meet his hazy gaze with a shocked expression on your face. “what?” your eyes widened.
riki quickly moved his fingers off the railing, and went to grab onto your hand. the t-rex animatronic dropped down and roared out loud, as the ride began to tip further over the edge, before finally accelerating down the steep slope.
“i like you choi y/n! i really do!” riki yelled over the loud noise of the artificial waterfall, gripping onto you tighter as he felt like he almost flew out his seat due to the 90° angle drop.
the ride quickly stopped, and a big wave of water crashed over the two of you because you decided to sit up front.
you and riki turned to face each other with deep eye contact, before breaking out into an fit of laughter. the two of you were soaking wet, but you didn’t care, you were just having a good time.
“did you mean it?” you asked.
“every last word.” riki mumbled, before you pulled him into a soft kiss.
your hand reached up to grip his shoulder as riki began to deepen the kiss, sighing against your lips.
but then you realized. you were in public. the park was near closing time, meaning there were few people around you.. meaning that they were just watching.
you pulled away from riki, grimacing as a droplet of water dropped down from his hair, and onto your nose.
riki grew shy as he turned around, noticing how most of the people around you two now had their eyes focused on him. he moved closer to you, pressing his head against yours while you leaned on one another.
“jungwon isn’t meeting up with friends, is he?” you asked with a raised brow. “no, i got rid of him. but we compromised.” riki said with a proud smile, as you walked out the exit.
“i like you too by the way.” you mumbled, as the two of headed towards the escalator to go back up to the main part of the park.
“i know.” riki assured while he wrapped his arm around you, after giving you his sweater. “i know..” he muttered again, before pressing a final kiss on the side of your head, as you leaned closer against him.

make them bond
Lando Norris x Amelie Dayman
Summary: Amelie and Lando navigate a tricky reunion with old friends while trying to leave recent drama behind.
Wordcount: 6.5 k
Warnings: none
full masterlist // request over here!
May 12th, 2025 - Los Cabos, Mexico
The water was warm, the kind of perfect that made you forget the world outside the pool even existed. Amelie floated lazily on a pink donut float, sunglasses on, legs dangling in the water. Lando stood beside her, half-submerged, arms crossed on the float’s edge, watching her with a shit-eating grin that gave away exactly how smitten he was.
—You’re staring again,— she said without looking at him, lips twitching.
—Can you blame me?— he replied, voice low and teasing, fingertips dragging lightly along her thigh. —You look stupidly good in that bikini, Ames. I’m just admiring the view.—
—You’re such a simp,— she laughed, nudging his chest with her foot. —And this is your third time complimenting my bikini. I’m counting now.—
—And yet, I’m still under-doing it. You deserve ten more. Maybe twenty.—
She finally looked at him, raising her sunglasses. —You’re so whipped.—
—Only for you.— He winked. —Actually, that’s not true. Benny’s got me wrapped around his paw too. And your cooking. And the way your nose scrunches when you’re annoyed. And the way you say "fuck off" with that cute accent.—
—You’re disgusting,— she said with a grin, even as her heart melted. —I hate you.—
—You love me.—
She opened her mouth to retort when she heard the sound of a car rolling up the driveway. Her whole body stiffened, the air suddenly feeling ten degrees hotter. Lando followed her gaze.
—That’s them?— he asked quietly.
She nodded. The float squeaked under her as she sat up straighter, adjusting her bikini top unnecessarily.
—Yup. That’s them.—
Lando gave her knee a reassuring squeeze. —We’ve got this, babe. It’ll be fine. Awkward, but fine.—
They watched as Max Fewtrell stepped out of the car first, his usual lazy grin slightly strained. He opened the door for Pietra, who followed in oversized sunglasses, denim shorts, and a very neutral expression.
Amelie took a breath. She hadn’t seen Pietra since Miami. Not properly. And while none of the rumors were their fault, it was still… weird. Max had gone to Comporta with Magui and Pietra and some other people, and that had stirred shit online. Shit she hadn’t been prepared for, especially not when it came to rumors of Lando cheating—especially not with Magui of all people.
She pulled herself out of the pool, wrapping a towel around her waist and squeezing water from her braid. Lando joined her, brushing droplets off his chest with a shake like a golden retriever.
—Max! Pietra!— he called out with a smile that was just a little too bright.
Max offered a small wave as they approached the edge of the patio.
—Hey, mate. Nice tan.—
—Jealous?— Lando smirked.
—Absolutely. Brazil's been rainy as fuck.—
Amelie offered Max a quick side-hug, which was awkward, for them at least. They’d been close once—really close. Max had been her video game partner during lockdown, the one who’d tease her endlessly on Discord and send her memes at 2 a.m. And now… things were different. Not bad. But not the same.
—Hi Pietra,— Amelie said politely, pulling off her sunglasses.
—Hi,— Pietra replied with a soft smile, glancing around the villa. —This place is insane.—
—It’s my mum’s, technically. She bought it years ago and forced my dad into early retirement here,— Amelie said, voice light, trying.
—Well, she has great taste,— Pietra added, gaze flickering between her and Lando quickly before settling on the ocean view.
—You guys want a drink? We’ve got palomas, mojitos… Lando made some horrifying attempt at sangria earlier,— Amelie offered, slipping back into host mode.
—Hey! It was decent.— Lando frowned. —I followed a recipe. Ish.—
Max chuckled. —I’ll take a mojito, Ames. You still make the good ones?—
She arched a brow. —Is that your way of trying to charm your way back into my good graces?—
—Shit, is it working?— he grinned.
She didn’t answer, but she gave a tiny smile and disappeared inside the kitchen, leaving Lando alone with the couple for a moment. The air was thick with unsaid things.
—Look, about Comporta,— Max started.
—Mate, it’s done,— Lando cut him off, voice firm but calm. —You don’t need to explain. Ames knows it wasn’t you, or Pietra. It was just bad optics.—
Pietra spoke up, voice soft. —Still, I should’ve thought it through. It was a dumb oversight, and I’m really sorry for the heat you guys got because of it.—
Lando nodded once. —It’s all good. You’re here now, so let’s just… enjoy the next two days, yeah? Golf, pool, bad dancing. No drama.—
Pietra nodded, but it was clear she still felt the weight of the tension hanging in the warm coastal air. She gave Lando a small, grateful smile before Max slung an arm around her shoulders and tugged her toward the house.
—C’mon,— Lando said, grabbing their duffel bags with ease. —I’ll show you your room. Got the best view in the house after ours.—
—Is that supposed to make me feel better or worse?— Max muttered with a smirk, following Lando up the stone steps.
Inside the villa, the air was cooler, scented faintly with salt, sunscreen, and a hint of lime from the half-prepped drinks in the kitchen. The place was airy, all whitewashed wood and glass, with sliding doors open to the ocean breeze. Lando led them down the hall to the guest suite at the far end, dropping the bags at the door.
—King bed, your own little patio, ocean view, and that bathroom’s the size of Max’s ego,— he said, pointing toward the en-suite.
Pietra let out a soft laugh as she stepped in, already digging into her bag. —I’m gonna change into my swimsuit real quick. I feel like I’ve been in jeans for forty-eight hours.—
—Take your time,— Max said, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before she disappeared into the bathroom and shut the door behind her.
The moment it clicked shut, Lando turned to Max, dropping the polite act.
—Okay, real talk,— he said, arms crossed. —We can’t keep doing this weird split-trip bullshit. I’m not spending another summer where I have to choose between you or her because our girlfriends don’t talk.—
Max scrubbed a hand over his face. —God, yes. It’s exhausting. Pietra and Amelie are civil, sure, but they’re not friends. Like, not real friends. And it’s starting to get in the way.—
—Exactly. I swear, Ames would never say it out loud, but she’s tense as hell anytime Pietra’s around. And when she saw that Comporta thing with Magui… fuck, man, it messed her up. Even if she knows you didn’t mean anything by it.—
—Yeah, Pietra felt like shit for that too. She gets why it was a big deal now. I think it clicked when the rumor went viral. She hadn’t thought about how it’d look from Amelie’s end.—
Lando exhaled and sat on the edge of the bed. —We just need them to click. Properly. Like, if they become friends, Pietra stops hanging out with people who bring drama. And Ames will stop feeling like she’s always watching her back when we’re in the same room.—
Max pointed. —And we can start making actual plans again. Like double dates. Trips. You know, normal couple shit. Instead of this weird avoidance dance.—
Lando smirked. —Operation Make Them Bond starts now.—

After a lazy couple of hours by the pool filled with mocktails, sunburn threats, and a very unfortunate cannonball from Max that nearly soaked Pietra’s Kindle, everyone slowly peeled off into their corners of the villa. Pietra and Max disappeared to their guest room with murmurs of "nap time" that made Amelie roll her eyes, and Lando had slinked off to their bedroom to "change."
That was already suspicious. Because Lando never changed early unless he was going somewhere.
Which meant…
Amelie, still in her damp bikini, towel slung lazily around her waist, padded barefoot into the kitchen. She opened the fridge and pulled out a slice of leftover quiche—because fuck it, she'd swam and hosted and smiled politely through enough strained silences today to earn herself a snack.
She’d just taken a big bite, leaning back against the cool marble island with the fridge still cracked open behind her, when she heard his footsteps.
And then—of course—his voice.
—Hey, babe.—
Her eyes flicked up. And there he was.
Polo shirt tucked neatly into beige golf shorts, belt perfectly aligned, those stupid little no-show socks with pristine white golf shoes, and—God help her—a cap flipped backward over his curls like he was auditioning to be in a country club boyband.
Amelie stared, chewing slowly. Swallowed. Pointed her fork at him.
—No.—
Lando’s brows lifted in faux innocence, hands slipping into his pockets as he leaned against the doorway like he hadn’t just walked in looking like the human embodiment of her worst nightmare.
—No what?— he asked, voice syrupy.
Amelie tilted her head, narrowed her eyes.
—No. I know that outfit. I know that walk. I know that fake-ass casual greeting. You’re gonna say something like ‘we’re just gonna hit a few balls’ or ‘come on, babe, it’ll be fun’ and I am telling you now...no.—
Lando smirked, pushing off the doorframe and strolling toward her with the easy swagger of a man who had been plotting. Plotting for days.
—You don’t even know what I was going to say,— he said, reaching around her to close the fridge door.
She crossed her arms, the quiche plate balanced on one palm. —It’s golf, isn’t it? You’re gonna try and make me go. Don’t lie to me, Norris. You’re in uniform.—
—Technically, yes. But hear me out.—
She took another bite of her quiche, glaring at him like it was the only thing tethering her to sanity.
—There is no hearing out. I hate golf. It’s walking in the heat while pretending to care about something that makes paint drying look thrilling. And don't even start with the 'just a few easy holes' talk.—
—That’s the thing,— Lando said, now fully grinning, grabbing a grape from the fruit bowl and popping it in his mouth. —You’re not doing the hard ones. Max and I are. You and Pietra are just doing the, like… mini-golf equivalent. A few swings, a golf cart, some drinks. Vibes only.—
—So you’re leaving me alone with her?— Amelie asked flatly.
Lando shrugged, only slightly guilty. —Not alone. Just… not with us. Temporarily.—
—This is the worst idea you’ve ever had.—
—Oh, come on.— Lando’s voice dropped into that dangerous, boyish persuasion tone she hated because it always worked. —You’ll keep Pietra company, and Max and I’ll do the harder holes. Maybe you’ll even have fun. Stranger things have happened.—
Amelie scoffed. —Yeah? Name one.—
Lando’s smile widened as he slid closer, trapping her gently between the kitchen island and his very annoyingly toned, golf-ready body.
—Stranger things? Easy,— he murmured, hands finding her waist, fingertips brushing against the edge of her towel. —You dating me. You letting me see you first thing in the morning with your hair like a war zone. You crying during Finding Nemo. You surviving F1 weekends without committing homicide.—
She narrowed her eyes. —You’re dodging the question.—
—No, I’m sweetening the pitch,— he corrected, leaning in until his nose nearly grazed hers. —Plus…— His gaze dropped for a second, a lazy smile spreading across his lips. —I’ve been dying to see you in that golf set I got you. You know the one.—
Her eyes widened a fraction. —No.—
—Yes,— he said, almost reverently. —The little green skirt. The matching sleeveless top. The knee-high socks. The visor, Ames. You haven’t even touched it since I bought it for you in Monaco. And it’s just been sitting in the closet, all lonely, unloved, unworn.—
—I told you when you bought it, I wasn’t wearing it because I wasn’t going golfing. It was a statement.—
—And now look at us. The statement has circled back to bite you in the cute little ass I’m currently holding.—
—Lando,— she warned, trying not to smile, especially when he dipped his head and kissed her jaw, right beneath her ear.
—I’m not asking you to like golf,— he murmured against her skin. —I’m just asking you to fake it for, like, an hour. Maybe two. Pretend the cart is a Mario Kart. Drive Pietra around. Talk shit about Max’s swing. Hit one ball and dramatically scream like you’ve pulled a muscle.—
Amelie huffed. —That sounds like something you’d do.—
—Exactly. I’m setting the bar low here, Ames. Bare minimum energy. All vibes, no pressure. And maybe…— his hands slipped lower, tugging lightly at the towel, —maybe… if you wear that outfit… I’ll owe you a favor. Any favor. Cash it in whenever.—
Her brows lifted. —Any favor?—
His grin turned sinful. —Anything. Within reason. Or mildly outside of reason if I get to film it.—
Amelie groaned, tilting her head back against the fridge. —God, you’re the worst. The absolute worst.—
But her resolve was already crumbling.
Because she did remember the outfit. And she did know how Lando had looked when he’d picked it out—like he was imagining her in it before the hanger even hit the register. And she did want Pietra to feel included, like they were cool now, like she could trust Amelie to meet her halfway.
And also…
Lando’s hand had snuck up under her towel and was currently tracing small circles on her hip.
—Ugh,— she groaned dramatically. —If I say yes, you owe me a massage tonight. With oil. And music. And no whining about your hands getting tired.—
—Deal,— he said instantly. —And I’ll even light a candle. One of the sexy sandalwood ones you like.—
She sighed, finally pushing her plate onto the counter. —Fine. But if I get sunburned and have to go back to filming with a golfer’s tan, I’m writing a diss track about you.—
Lando leaned in and kissed her—slow, smug, and sweet. —As long as I’m the music video lead, I’m in.—
—God help me,— she muttered.
—Go put the outfit on,— he whispered against her lips. —Make my country club fantasies come true.—
—You’re disgusting.—
—You love me.—
And as she stalked off to the bedroom muttering curses under her breath, Lando turned and pumped a silent fist in the air. Phase One: complete. The girls were going. Which meant Phase Two—Get Them To Bond Over Mocking Golf—was officially a go.

Amelie stepped out of the villa just as golden hour hit, the fading sun brushing her skin with a warm, forgiving glow. She adjusted the little green visor Lando had once dramatically tossed into their shared shopping cart in Monaco and tried not to think about how smug he’d looked earlier when she finally pulled the outfit out of the closet. Because now she understood why.
The skirt was short. Like, very short. The sleeveless top clung in just the right places.
She looked like every teenage boy’s fantasy of what golf should be. And judging by the way Lando turned his head so fast when she appeared, jaw slack and pupils dilated like he’d just seen a UFO, she was right.
—You’re staring,— she said flatly, shifting her weight to one leg, hip popping.
—No, I’m not,— Lando said, still staring, not even blinking. Max coughed a laugh behind him.
—Bro, you literally just walked into the umbrella stand.—
—Shut up,— Lando muttered, tugging at his collar like it was suddenly suffocating him.
They were all gathered by the stone steps that led down to the private golf course attached to the villa. Max was already loading clubs into the back of one of the two waiting golf carts, and Pietra stood off to the side, sipping from a bottle of water and eyeing Amelie with the kind of neutral appraisal that made Amelie’s neck itch. Not hostile. Not rude. Just... unreadable.
—Alright, teams,— Max called out, clapping his hands together. —Boys go tackle the manholes.—
—That’s not what they’re called,— Lando said distractedly, eyes still locked on Amelie.
—You sure? Because I’ve definitely heard you say something about 'checking your manhole' before.—
—Max.—
Amelie snorted. Pietra did not.
—And ladies,— Max continued, ignoring the death glare his girlfriend was now giving him, —you get the fun cart. Drinks, shade, easy holes. Don’t crash it.—
—You say that like you think we’re the problem,— Amelie said, walking toward the second cart, feeling Lando’s eyes burn into her legs the entire way.
—No, he says that because he once flipped a golf cart trying to impress Daniel Ricciardo,— Pietra muttered under her breath as she climbed into the passenger seat.
Amelie blinked. Oh.
Interesting.
Lando opened his mouth, clearly about to protest the seating arrangement—because obviously he wanted to be in a cart with Amelie, that much was written all over his red-eared, barely-holding-it-together face—but Max clapped a hand on his shoulder and dragged him to the other cart before he could say a word.
—C’mon, lover boy. Let the girls bond. We’ll reconvene in two hours with sweat stains and wounded pride.—
Lando looked back one more time, lower lip between his teeth, and Amelie knew that if he stayed any longer, he’d either say something inappropriate or try to drag her into the woods.
So she just gave him a little wave. Sweet. Innocent. Absolutely dripping in silent mockery.
He groaned audibly as the cart pulled away.
The first few minutes were… painful.
Amelie drove. Pietra fiddled with her phone. Silence hung in the cart like smog, thick and awkward and threatening to choke both of them. The breeze did nothing. The trees whispered uselessly. Somewhere in the distance, a bird chirped and Amelie considered asking it to peck her eyes out for entertainment.
They reached the first easy hole. Pietra got out, stretched, and swung her club with robotic precision. It wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t relaxed either.
Amelie sighed. Picked up her club. Took a lazy swing. The ball rolled a whopping ten feet.
—Wow,— Pietra deadpanned. —Incredible display of raw athleticism.—
Amelie smirked. —Thank you. I trained with Tiger Woods once. He said I was too powerful for the sport.—
Pietra cracked a smile. Barely, but it was there. The first dent in the silence.
They moved on. Hole two. Pietra drove this time. Her posture behind the wheel was almost surgical—straight-backed, two hands, full concentration like they were navigating a Formula 1 track instead of a perfectly paved golf path with butterflies crossing like it was a Disney movie.
—So,— Amelie said, voice overly casual. —You always this serious about sports that don’t matter?—
Pietra exhaled through her nose, turning the wheel with a little more force than necessary. —I just don’t like looking stupid at things. Especially things Max is good at.—
—Fair,— Amelie said, adjusting the strap of her visor. —Although if “not looking stupid” was the bar, I wouldn’t have agreed to this at all.—
Pietra let out a huff that might’ve been a laugh. Still clipped. But less icy.
They reached the third hole. It had one of those annoyingly placed sand traps, like someone had designed it specifically to ruin your self-esteem. Pietra got out and sized it up like she was about to perform surgery on it.
Amelie, meanwhile, slumped dramatically over the steering wheel. —You think if I pretend to faint, they’ll let us go home?—
Pietra’s lips twitched. —Only if you commit to the bit. Foam at the mouth or something.—
—Too far. I’m method, not deranged.—
That got a real laugh. Quick and surprised, like it snuck out before Pietra could decide whether or not she wanted it to.
—Max always foams at the mouth when he sleeps,— Pietra said, stretching her back with a faint grimace. —I swear to God, he’ll roll over, open his mouth like a dying fish, and it’s like a damn waterfall. I nearly drowned last week.—
Amelie blinked. Then blinked again.
Then snorted so hard she nearly choked on her spit. —Wait, what?—
Pietra shook her head, face serious but eyes a little brighter now. —Dead serious. We stayed at this hotel in Lisbon, and I woke up thinking it was raining. Nope. Just Max, sleeping face-up like a cartoon character, drooling like his jaw forgot how gravity works.—
Amelie wheezed. Bent over the steering wheel. —Oh my God. That’s so foul. Lando snores. Like, whistles. Through his nose. It’s like sleeping next to a dying kettle.—
Pietra’s eyes widened, then narrowed like she was trying to picture it. —That actually makes so much sense.—
—Right? I love him, but every time I get woken up at 3 a.m. by Steam Engine Norris, I start making mental hit lists.—
Pietra laughed again—louder this time. Amelie grinned, surprised at how easy it suddenly felt. Like they’d cracked something. Or maybe just realized they were both dating deeply stupid, occasionally disgusting boys who somehow made it worth it.
—Max takes, like, forty-five minutes to pick a movie,— Pietra said, hopping back into the cart. —And then he falls asleep twenty minutes in.—
Amelie gasped. —Lando does the exact same thing. Swears up and down he wants to watch something, spends ages making a whole thing of it: lights off, snacks, makes me pause trailers to “really analyze them”... and then he’s out like a light. Head back. Mouth open. Whole performance, gone.—
—And then tries to recap it the next day like he was awake the entire time.—
—“Yeah, yeah, the bit with the guy in the suit... crazy, right?”— Amelie mimicked, rolling her eyes. —Sir, you were unconscious before the title card.—
They both dissolved into laughter, the tension finally shedding like an old coat.
The cart bumped slightly as Pietra hit a root, but neither of them cared. They were too busy making a list of their boyfriends’ most criminal habits.
—Max has this thing where he talks in his sleep,— Pietra added, smirking.
Amelie’s eyes lit up. —No. What does he say?—
—Mostly nonsense. One time he said, “Tell Lando the penguin has the codes.” I didn’t sleep after that. I thought it was a warning.—
Amelie nearly dropped her club. —That’s a spy movie. That’s not even his real life! Why is he dreaming in fake espionage plots?!—
—Don’t ask me. I think he watched Mission: Impossible and it rewired his brain.—
They were still laughing when they pulled up to the fifth hole—an easy one, with a wide green and zero traps—but neither made a move to get out.
Instead, they just sat there, the cart idling, the sun sinking lower over the rolling hills, painting everything in a soft golden haze. A light breeze swept Pietra’s ponytail to one side, and Amelie leaned her elbow on the steering wheel, suddenly aware of how different this felt than she expected.
Not forced. Not fake. Just… warm.
Pietra glanced at her, expression shifting, the humor fading just enough for something more honest to slip in. —Hey,— she said, tone softer now. —About what happened. With Comporta. And the rumors.—
Amelie straightened a little. The mention of Comporta tightened something in her stomach—an echo of that week in May when she’d woken up to her name trending, paired with cheating and Lando and Magui, all because of one stupid photo.
—It wasn’t our fault,— Pietra continued, —but I should’ve said something. Reached out. I didn’t realize it would blow up the way it did, and when it did, it was already too messy. I didn’t know if I should text you or leave it alone. And by the time Max tried to explain it all, it just… felt too late.—
Amelie didn’t answer right away. She stared out at the course, tapping a finger against the wheel. —Yeah,— she said finally. —It sucked.—
—I know.—
—It really fucking sucked.—
Pietra nodded. —I know.—
Amelie glanced at her, searching her face. —Did she know I’d see those pictures? Magui, I mean.—
Pietra hesitated. Just a beat. But that was enough.
Pietra hesitated. Just a beat. But that was enough.
—That’s what I thought,— Amelie muttered.
—She didn’t do it maliciously. At least not...— Pietra stopped. Winced. —Okay. No. I don’t know that. But I do know Max was furious. He genuinely had no idea she’d be there, and it caused a whole thing between us. Like… a real fight.—
Amelie blinked. That part she didn’t know.
—I’m not saying this to get points,— Pietra added. —I just want you to know that we didn’t... I didn’t...cosign any of it. Max wouldn’t do that to you. Neither would I. Not intentionally.—
—I know Max wouldn’t,— Amelie said quietly. —And I guess… I know you wouldn’t either. Not now, anyway.—
A silence settled between them. Not tense, just thoughtful.
Pietra pulled at a loose thread on her polo. —I was kind of nervous inviting you to come out here. I thought you’d say no.—
—I almost did,— Amelie admitted. —But Lando bribed me with a massage.—
Pietra barked a laugh. —Sounds about right.—
—He also promised to light a sexy candle.—
—Jesus Christ.—
—I know. It’s tragic.—
They grinned at each other. And suddenly, it wasn’t awkward anymore.
They played a few more holes. Hit balls into bushes. Got mildly yelled at by an old man in plaid pants. Shared a can of sparkling lemonade from the cooler. Amelie showed Pietra how to swing like a “drunk aunt at a wedding,” and Pietra showed Amelie how to restart the cart when she accidentally flooded the engine. They were not good at golf, but they were getting better at this—whatever this fragile, hesitant friendship thing was turning into.
By the ninth hole, they were sun-flushed and laughing again, legs kicked up on the dash while they waited for the boys to reappear.
Amelie leaned her head back and sighed. —Honestly? You’re a lot cooler than I thought you’d be.—
Pietra raised a brow. —That’s either the best or worst compliment I’ve ever gotten.—
—I mean it. We’ve just… never really hung out. Outside of group stuff.—
—That’s because you’re famous and terrifying and I thought you hated me.—
—I don’t hate you.—
—Good. Because I think we’re in a codependent support group now. For Girlfriends of Stupid Men.—
Amelie laughed. —God. You’re right.—

-------------
By the time the sun dipped fully behind the hills, casting the Cabo sky in hues of burnt orange and cotton-candy pink, the two golf carts rumbled their way back up the path to the villa. Amelie and Pietra were both flushed from the heat, slightly sweaty, and—shockingly—laughing about something Max had done during a bachelor party in Ibiza that involved a pineapple, a karaoke machine, and a mysterious allergic reaction.
Lando and Max, waiting by the stone steps where they’d started, perked up like puppies hearing their owner’s car pull into the driveway.
—They’re smiling,— Max whispered under his breath, eyes wide with disbelief.
Lando clutched his chest dramatically. —Bro. They’re laughing. Laughing. Like... together.—
—That’s not just tolerance. That’s banter.—
—That’s progress! We’re heroes.—
As the girls climbed out of the cart—Amelie adjusting her visor, Pietra pulling her hair off her neck—the boys barely resisted the urge to sprint over.
Instead, they played it cool.
For about two seconds.
—Oh my God, you’re back!— Lando gasped, jogging dramatically like Amelie had just returned from war. —I missed you so much. I almost died.—
—We saw each other two hours ago,— Amelie deadpanned, ducking when he tried to spin her.
—Two very long hours.—
—He cried twice,— Max added, sidling up to Pietra with a dopey grin. —Once because his ball went into a bush, and once because he found a leaf that looked like Amelie.—
—Okay, it really did look like her ponytail from behind!—
Pietra raised a brow, but her lips twitched. Amelie just rolled her eyes and gave Lando a lazy kiss on the cheek before stepping back.
—You boys are idiots.—
—But we’re your idiots,— Max said, already looping his arm around Pietra’s waist.
She snorted. —Barely.—
As they reached the villa, Pietra slipped off toward her room with a muttered, —Shower. I feel like I’ve been attacked by the sun.— Amelie, still holding her water bottle, veered toward the kitchen.
And that left the boys blessedly alone in the breezy, sun-warmed entryway.
The second the girls were out of sight, Max and Lando turned to each other with synchronized grins.
HIGH-FIVE.
VICTORY DANCE.
It was stupid. It was off-beat. Max attempted a moonwalk that looked more like a seizure, and Lando did this weird chest shimmy that made absolutely no sense. But it was triumphant.
—They’re friends! They’re actual friends now!— Lando whisper-shouted, fist-pumping like he’d just won a Grand Prix.
—Operation ‘Get Them To Bond Over Mocking Golf’ was a success,— Max nodded solemnly, still panting from the dance. —I feel like I just won an Oscar for Best Boyfriend Scheme.—
And then...
—Are you two done being morons?— came Amelie’s dry voice from the kitchen entrance.
They both froze.
Amelie leaned against the doorframe, sipping her water. Her golf outfit—short skirt, clingy top, visor still perched atop messy hair—should’ve looked ridiculous. But it didn’t. It looked devastating.
Lando straightened, looking sheepish. —Hey, love. I...uh...—
—You’re such idiots,— she said, walking over to him. She kissed him square on the mouth, slow, with a teasing little hum like she knew what it did to him.
When she pulled back, Lando’s brain short-circuited a little.
Then she leaned up and whispered, —I’m gonna go take a shower. Hope you join me.—
Lando blinked. Mouth parted. Soul left his body.
—Right. Water. Yes. I’ll just… hydrate first.—
Amelie smirked and sauntered away, hips swaying just enough to be illegal in several countries.
Once she disappeared down the hallway, Max let out a long, low whistle.
—Damn. She’s gonna kill you.—
—Happily,— Lando muttered, grabbing a bottle from the fridge and chugging half of it like it could extinguish the fire blazing under his skin.
When he finally came up for air, he turned to Max, quieter now. —I haven’t told you yet… but she said yes.—
Max blinked. —To?—
—To moving in. With me. In Monaco.—
Max grinned, eyes wide. —No way. She actually said yes?—
Lando nodded, practically glowing. —Yeah. After the tour ends. She said she’s ready. Said it feels right.—
—Bro, that’s huge.—
—I know. I haven’t shown her the apartment yet. Not since the remodel. I figured I’d surprise her when she comes out for the Monaco Grand Prix. Give her the full “welcome home” moment.—
Max clapped him on the shoulder. —You hopeless, lovesick idiot. Show me. I want to see what you did to the place.—
Lando grabbed his iPad from the coffee table and pulled up a folder marked “Monaco Nest 🐣.” Max choked on his laugh.
—You named it that? What are you, a bird?—
—Shut up. Look.—
He swiped through photos of the apartment. Gone were the cold bachelor whites and the overly minimalist furniture. In their place: soft earth tones, plush couches, warm lighting, big windows framed with breezy curtains. A kitchen built for late-night snacks and chaotic baking attempts. A reading nook. Candles. A second closet for Amelie. Plants that weren’t fake.
Max stared, stunned. —Dude. This isn’t a bachelor pad anymore. This is like... a couple’s Pinterest board exploded in here.—
—That’s the point. I want her to feel like it’s hers too. Not like she’s just crashing at mine.—
Max looked at him for a moment, then nodded.
—She’s gonna love it. You did good, man.—
Lando smiled, already picturing the look on Amelie’s face when she walked through the door. Already counting the days until he could call her his roommate, his girlfriend, his everything—all under one roof.
Now all he had to do... was survive that shower.

AITA for pretending I cheated on my partner when our common friend asked why we fought?
It will sound fake and fictional, but please bear with me because I'm getting crazy over it. And also sorry for any english mistake, we're not from an english speaking country.
To give some context: I am a man. There was this person, B(m), which whom I kind of grew up with. We went through the same schools from our 6 years old to 17 but we never were really friends. Then, around our 13, I got into a clique that fed into all my bad habits and I started to actively bully B because he seemed like an easy target at the time. I enjoyed it and was encouraged to do so (because I was such an asshole and I'm not even cringing thinking about it, it's worse. I regret it so much and I was a stupid and bad teenager). It was so bad that after years of enduring it, B changed school before we graduated and I went on with my life.
It' was's been about 15 years ago that I graduated.
In the meantime, I dealt with some problems that I had with my family and I went through intensive therapy which changed me for the better, and I came to terms with my sexuality as well.
Flashforward to 2019/2020, I meet with someone online through some games and it goes very well. Thanks to the Covid and the lockdowns, we play even more and get closer. At some point, I talk about an event happening close to my city, and he tells me that he knows about it as well and that we're living close to each other. Because we enjoyed our time online (ngl, we had started flirting although I didn't know how sincere it was) we decided to meet at that event.
And there, I find out that my online friend is B. It's extremely awkward but only for me because he cannot recognize me for three reasons: 1. I changed physically with my puberty finally finishing the job after my 18 birthday, and I found some love into dying my hair. 2. I changed in terms of personality thanks to the therapy I went through. 3. My legal name was changed when I said goodbye to this fucking family of mine and left without turning back (but I was getting sick just saying my last name).
I, obviously, didn't tell him anything about who I really was because I just wanted to enjoy that evening with a friend, and we didn't see each other since he left high school because of me. My plan was just to slowly distance myself from him after that evening but it failed because we had a lot of fun and we actually really hit off and I was dying constantly at the idea that he could find out.
We've been in a relationship sicne the beginning of 2021 and I was decided to just never tell him (horrifying idea I know, anyone with a braincell would have told me that it was bound to be found).
A month ago, I met with an old friend from high school (so yeah, he was in the bullying gang but more of a followers, so we stayed in friendly terms when we both agreed that it was bad) and as he recognized B, he decided to excuse himself and hoped that B would forgive him like he "forgave" me (I never got to tell that friend to shut up about that) so yeah, B found out that I was his main bully who had lied to him for almost 4 years now.
We had quite a big talk about it. How bad my bullying ended up for B; why I lied like that and never admitted it. And even if it went alright, B told me that he needed a break to think about things and it's going to be one month that I'm crashing at a common friend of us. At first, I just said that B and I got into a fight and it was good enough, but as it's been already a month, the friend asked more about it. Not wanting to bring up B's trauma to someone else (especially after our conversation), I just told the first lie that came to me and pretended that I cheated on B and he found out.
Now that common friend is calling me an asshole and keeps reminding me how much they are disappointed in me to have done something so horrifying to B. I keep wondering if I did well to lie like that, or if I should have found another way out.

SKZ getting cheated on (Hyung Line + Han)
(How long it’ll take them to find out on their own, how they’d react, if they’d break up or not)
Chan
Honestly, it'd probably take him a while to realize. Because, for one, he'd probably feel very stable in his relationship and his place in his partner's life. He has that "They'd never because they NEED me" kinda mentality. The longer they've been together the less likely he is to find out organically unless he full-on catches them in the act. He also feels like his relationships are very solid at their core. Another big issue is to be entirely sure his partner is cheating, he needs to break free of delusions. It would also just be far too much for him if he did suspect it because he'd be afraid he'd lose his partner for even daring to think something like that. I think he'd also...Take things for granted? Like, "I have you there's no way you'd ever leave or want anything more/else" type of thing. Everything's familiar. And he doesn't take into account that anything could possibly happen.
If he finds out he got cheated on, he'd immediately tell his friends and seek comfort in them. I'm also getting he's the type who'd cheat on his partner to get his lick back or something. Cheating is something Chan can't get past, so he'd definitely leave them. He'd feel hopeless, and his entire life would probably momentarily crash and burn. I think he'd also be really frustrated and it'd ruin his trust in everyone in his life. He'd also push down and suppress a lot of things. Because of that, the feelings of hurt and anger and resentment can easily fester because he didn't allow himself to acknowledge them or hash them out.
Lee Know
Idk why I immediately thought of ice spice
Specifically that like "You think you the shit, bitch? You not even the fart." I don't even like her or that song
BUT ANYWAYS
He'd know quickly. You can't HIDE that from this man. Trust he'll find out ASAP. Because, one, his intuition is on a whole other level. Two, he'd immediately know if something's off. Whether that be your location being off or somewhere it's not supposed to, etc. Even if you think you're slick he'll FIND a tell one way or another. I'm also a firm believer he goes through phones. I'm talking every nook and cranny of that phone including your EMAILS. He's finding that shit one way or another and you're lucky if there's a 24 hour window of time where he doesn't know about it. He'll find a way to figure it out.
In terms of how he'd react...He'd definitely find out on his own, so there'd be this 'Aha!' moment. Because he knew he wasn't going crazy. He's going to figure out every nitty gritty detail of the cheating with PRINTED OUT laminated receipts with copies just incase. He's definitely gonna confront his partner. And trust he's going to have a boost of confidence figuring it out. Definitely not the type who blames himself. He's also probably telling everyone and their mother. And YOUR mother. He sees it as a battle won and everyone needs to hear about the victory.
He has a 50/50 chance of leaving, though. On ONE hand, while trust is very important to him he'd also feel a sense of...I don't want to say ownership but that's the only word I can think of over his partners. So, he simply wouldn't want to let them go. I feel like the love would also linger a lot because he feels very deeply. So, he may just stay with his partner and fall into some toxic habits of keeping them on lockdown, being all hovery...The type who's calling his partner every 5 minutes, showing up to their job to make sure they're there, getting their Apple login so they can receive every single message and notif they do...He's keeping them on LOCK. But on the other hand, he could very well just...Fall out of love in an instant. It's very contradictory. Love and hate are two sides of the same coin and he has a very large capacity for hate, especially when betrayed. Probably just moved onto the next. So yeah, he's either dumping you rather cruelly then moving on like you never existed, or keeping you uner lock and key.
Changbin
He'd probably FIND OUT fairly quickly, because he'd kind of have this gut feeling. But he'd suppress those feelings and convince himself he was insane until he finally catches his partner red handed and realizes he's right on the money. Because he's very passionate about his relatinship and doesn't want to be imposing on his partner or doubting them for no reason. That's not his intention nor something he's comfortable with doing. He also wants to trust in his partner. He'll probably lose faith in himself and just be very on edge until he realizes he's right.
His entire life would fall apart when he finds out. He falls into destructive tendencies. Probably self-sabotages a lot. He feels like a failure, and he's so afraid of being made fun of or looked down on because he got cheated on. He'd probably fall into a depression and just be very negative. He'd feel like he wasn't enough, and couldn't be good enough. And feel he just couldn't be all his partner needed so they found it in someone else. But he'd also regain some of his trust in himself. Because he realized his intuition was right and he wasn't just losing his mind. Would definitely need a lot of kindness and comfort from friends and family, and a lot of self-expolration. May fall into delusions to help himself cope.
He'd also definitely break up with his partner if they cheated. Because they're obviously not his person, and he'll find his person.
Hyunjin
I haven't even pulled yet and I already know this'll affect my mental wellbeing
But also...MY MAN MY MAN MY MANNNNN I haven't read on him in a while (I'm saying this because he's my bias not because i'm delusional enough to think he'd want me don't @ me)
FIRST OF ALL, he'd believe he's being cheated on long before he actually is. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already been in a situation where he dreamed of being cheated on and then a few weeks later got cheated on and was convinced he was a prophet or something. Not literally but you catch my drift. But I also feel like the amount of time it'd take to figure it out is considerably lengthened by the fact that he looks at everything through rose-tinted glasses of hopeless romance. He has a love for life and is more focused on that than anything else. Plus, he's near perpetually convinced he's about to be cheated on or is being cheated on so once he genuinely DOES see the red flags it's less...Impactful? To him? Because he sees them in everything. He's sensitive, though, so i feel like he'd sense it if something was off. Like, if his partner was cheating because of lost feelings he'd realize the lost feelings. And then, his imagination would take the wheel and suddenly it's a joyride off a cliff and into a mental spiral. I feel like deep down he'd also know like "Oh shit, this is different. They may actually be cheating for real." I feel like he has the emotional maturity to know that other times he was overreacting and being delusional. But this is more than that. I feel like the moment he open his eyes, he'll immediately know.
And he's getting the hell up out of there.
He'd be CRUSHED if he found out he got cheated on. He'd probably throw his money away doing stupid shit with it, fall into certain bad habits. He'd feel hopeless, and feel like everything he worked so hard for during the relationship was a waste. Like he's failed. But he'd also 100% publicly expose his partner. I also think he'd drown his sorrows in another relationship or fling or whatever. I'm talking within the hour of finding out he's under someone else for the sole purpose of distraction. He'd also 100% use this to fuel his general anger/crashoutery for the next few months. Like he'll be another level of volatile and emotionally unstable. He'd probably reflect a lot on the relationship. He'd withdraw from a lot of things and just want to be by himself and recover from the pain. Definitely would avoid anything that could potentially stress him out.
He'd also break up with his partner. Surprisingly. I was honestly expecting him to stay. But I feel like his energy has changed? He has more trust in himself and his value and he's not just content sticking around through mistreatment anymore. Good for him.
Han
Shawty bae
I don’t think he’d notice? He’d just very much be blinded by everything. He idealizes his relationships, and he’d be so happy he just genuinely wouldn’t notice if something was amiss. He’s also just generally an overthinker and has a very scattered mind, so I think if he did pick up on something he wouldn’t notice AT ALL he’s not being delusional.
I think he’d still love them if they cheated. But I also think he’d be the type to…Cheat back? If his partner were to ever cheat on him. He’d definitely also get closer with friends and family for emotional support and find happiness there. Mask the sadness with more happiness and drown himself in pleasure. I think once he finds out everything will suddenly connect. All the puzzle pieces will fall into place and everything will suddenly make sense.
I think he would want to but I don’t think he would. It’d be a big inner conflict and he’d really have to force himself to. He’d need to think on it and his friends and family would have to push for it. Because he’s like “Well I’ve put so much effort into this why throw it away?” And just values the stability relationships and having his ‘other half’ brings to him.

PART 1 || PART 2 || PART 3

Each day drags on and you try to stay focused on your assignments. Anything to keep your mind from spiralling. You sometimes talk to Nari for hours, trying to find comfort in her jokes or small talk. You even spend late nights talking with your parents, sharing recipes, reminiscing about old family stories, or discussing the state of the world together.
But no matter how hard you try to distract yourself, there’s always that nagging feeling in the back of your mind. Like something was off. Your body feels… different.
You haven’t gotten your period.
At first, you tell yourself it’s nothing. You’re stressed. Everything with Taehyung has been overwhelming, and now the world feels like it’s falling apart. The news is filled with warnings about the pandemic, and lockdowns are looming closer with each passing day. It’s hard to focus on anything when it feels like the ground beneath you is shifting.
But then a week passes. Then another. And that sinking feeling in your gut only grows heavier. You’ve never been this late before like this.
Something deep inside whispers that it’s time to stop pretending. Time to stop pushing the thought away.
You’re not ready for this. You’re not ready for this.
That morning, you walk into the bathroom with a pregnancy test clutched tightly in your hand. The box looks so normal, so ordinary, yet it feels impossibly heavy in your palm. With trembling fingers, you set it down, silently begging the universe that you’re wrong.
Minutes tick by.
Then you see them.
Two pink lines, that were clear as day.
Pregnant.
The word echoes through your mind, but it doesn’t feel real. It can’t be real. Not now. Not after everything with Taehyung. Not with your life already unraveling. The regret. The confusion. The silent ache you've been carrying. It all hits you at once.
You sit on the edge of the bathtub, staring at the test like it’s some alien object. This isn’t how your life was supposed to go. Not in the middle of a global crisis. Not while you’re still trying to figure out who you are without him.
You always imagined finishing school, building a career, finding yourself. But now, everything feels out of your control. Like you’re being pulled into something bigger, scarier, something that will change your life forever.

A soft knock on the door pulls you back to reality.
“Y/N? You okay in there?” Your mom’s voice calls gently from the other side.
You quickly wipe your face, only now realising your eyes are wet. You can’t tell her. Not like this. Not ever.
“Yeah, just a headache.” You called back, trying to steady your voice.
“I’ll be out in a minute.”

You stayed there for a moment longer, with your heart racing. The test still lying in front of you. You’re terrified. But there’s something else too. A hollow stillness, like standing at the edge of a cliff and staring into the unknown.
You know you can’t keep this to yourself forever. You have to tell someone.
Your fingers unlock your phone like they’ve done this a thousand times before. You start to scroll, to land exactly where you were always going to.
There’s no question. No second thought.
You were always going to tell him.
Taehyung.
But how do you tell him? After everything that’s happened?
How do you even begin?
You bury your face in your hands, as your head starts to spin. Letting your emotions crash over you like a wave. There are so many questions and no clear answers.

Taehyung's POV:
He didn’t fight it.
Not like he thought he would.
When you looked him in the eyes and told him that you couldn't do it anymore. Something inside him shattered, but he stayed still.
Silent.
Watching as you tried to keep your voice steady, as your hands trembled in your lap. As your eyes searched his for something like even the smallest regret, an apology, maybe even love.
But he just sat there.
Because deep down, Taehyung knew he’d hurt you. Not always with words, but with carelessness. With the things he didn’t say, the time he didn’t make, the boundaries he crossed. He thought if he loved you enough, it would cancel out the parts of him that weren’t ready. But love wasn’t enough—not when trust had started to rot at the edges.
So when you stood there with tears in your eyes and whispered, “I need to choose myself now,” he nodded.
But inside, he was screaming.
Every part of him wanted to reach out. To pull you into his arms and say, “Please don’t go. I’ll do better. I swear, I’ll try harder this time.” But the words stayed stuck in his throat—because he wasn’t sure you’d believe them anymore.
He watched you leave with the weight of a thousand unspoken things pressing down on his chest.
And when the door shut, the silence that followed felt unbearable.
He sank to the floor that night and didn’t move for hours.
Conflicted didn’t even begin to cover it. He felt like he’d let go of the one person who truly saw him. And a part of him told him it was what you needed. What you deserved.
Still, he never stopped wishing things had gone differently.
He never stopped hoping, somewhere deep down, that one day you’d come back.
And if you didn’t?
He hoped you’d find the peace he couldn’t give you then.
Even if it broke him.

Present Day: (Taehyung's POV)
Taehyung sat alone in his apartment, the dim glow of his PC setup lighting up the room. The gaming chair felt oddly empty without the usual buzz of his friends around him. The apartment as a whole felt cold without you.
But tonight, things were different. The guys had decided to hop on a video call, and Jisoo had joined in too. The sounds of controllers clicking, the occasional trash talk, and the laughter of his friends echoed through the speakers. It was supposed to feel normal, comforting, but it didn’t. His mind kept drifting to you.
He hadn’t heard from you in weeks. Every time his phone buzzed, he’d glance at it. Hoping for a message from you, but the silence had only weighed heavier with each passing day. He hadn’t reached out either, unable to find the right words, unsure of how to fix things.
Then, that afternoon. His phone lit up with your name.
His heart skipped a beat. And for a moment, everything froze. He didn’t even hear the banter from the boys over the call. His eyes were locked on his screen.
[Y/N]: Can we talk? It's important.
A jolt of relief surged through him, but it was quickly followed by a sickening knot in his stomach. He stared at the message for a moment longer, barely noticing the teasing from Jungkook or the sound of Jisoo laughing from the other side of the call. His palms began to sweat.
“What’s up, Taehyung?” Jungkook asked, his voice pulling him out of his daze.
“You good?”
Taehyung blinked, trying to shake off the sudden anxiety.
“Yeah. Just, uh… Just something I gotta take care of." He said, his voice unsteady.
Without another word, he quickly muted his mic and stood up, walking out of his gaming room and into the hallway. The sounds from the video call faded, replaced by the deafening silence of the apartment. Taehyung's hands were shaking as he unlocked his phone and called you immediately.
You picked up on the second ring, but there was no sound. Only the faintest breath from your end. He could feel his heart racing, unsure of what to say.
“Y/N… hey. You okay?”
For a moment, there was nothing but silence on the other end. Then your voice broke through. It was soft and distant.
“I took a test.”
His heart stuttered, his breath catching in his chest. “What kind of test?”
“A pregnancy test.”
The words hit him like a punch to the gut. The world seemed to stop. The noise from the game was replaced by the deafening silence of his own thoughts. His mind spiraled.
“What… what did it say?”
“Two lines." You whispered.
“I’m pregnant.”
Taehyung felt the floor beneath him tilt, his mind spinning. His stomach twisted, and for a moment, he couldn’t breathe. He hadn’t expected this. Hadn’t prepared himself for it. His heart was hammering in his chest as he paced the hallway, the weight of your words pressing down on him.
“Taehyung?” Your voice broke through, soft and vulnerable.
“Say something.”
He sank down against the wall, his back pressing to the cold surface.
“I just… I didn’t think…” He struggled for the right words. “I thought we were being careful."
“I know." You whispered, your voice strained.
His mind raced with questions he didn’t know how to ask. The overwhelming rush of emotions was suffocating.
“Are you okay? Are you safe? What do you need?”
“I don’t know.” You replied quietly. “I haven’t told anyone. Just you.”
Hearing that, even after everything that had happened between you, hit him harder than he expected. You came to him first.
“I want to be there." He said, voice barely audible. “For you. For whatever happens next. Just… let me be there, okay?”
Neither of you spoke for a long time.

Back in the other room, he could still hear Jisoo laughing at something on the call, the sounds of the boys messing around. It felt like a lifetime ago. All the noise in the world couldn’t drown out the weight of what was happening.
But you mattered. Always had.
And now, everything had changed.

Your POV:
There was a long pause, and your heart began to pound in your chest. But then he spoke again, his voice calm but filled with concern.
“Are you okay?” Taehyung asked, his tone more caring than anything you’d heard in a while. “Are you feeling alright?”
You almost broke down at the way he asked. It wasn’t the shock, the distance, the anger you had expected. It was raw care. He wanted to know that you were okay.
“I… I don’t know." You whispered, your voice breaking. “I don’t know what to do.”
He sighed softly on the other end of the line, it felt like he was right there beside you, holding you up.
“You don’t have to figure it all out right now, Y/N. I’m here for you. You don’t have to go through this alone.”
Hearing him say that, you felt like you could finally breathe again. Maybe it wasn’t as bad as you thought. Maybe this wasn’t as much of a disaster as you’d imagined. The uncertainty was still there, but at least you weren’t facing it alone.
“You’re not alone.” He repeated. “I’m here. We’ll figure this out together, okay? You’re not alone.”
You nodded, even though he couldn’t see you. “Okay… I just don’t know what to do next. I’m scared, Taehyung.”
“I’m scared too." He admitted quietly. “But we’ll take it one step at a time. You’ve got me, Y/N. We’ll get through this. We’ll figure it out together.”
For the first time in days, the weight lifting ever so slightly from your chest. The road ahead was still unclear, still filled with doubt, but at least you had someone who cared, someone who was willing to face it with you.

Taehyung's POV:
Taehyung sat there, the phone still pressed to his ear. Long after the call had ended. His fingers were tight around the device, his mind racing. He hadn’t expected this. In fact, the idea of it never even crossed his mind. But now that you had shared it with him, he couldn’t help but feel a thousand emotions flood him all at once.
Confusion. Concern. A little bit of fear. But mostly, an overwhelming sense of responsibility.
He had always cared about you. He knew that. But hearing the vulnerability in your voice, hearing the fear, it hit him harder than he had anticipated. His mind replayed your words, trying to grasp the weight of them: I’m pregnant.
And yet, despite the shock, he felt… relieved. Relieved that you’d called him. That you’d reached out. He couldn’t help but feel that this was a turning point. That the distance between you, the unspoken things, the tension, it could finally start to unravel. He had missed you more than he cared to admit, even to himself.
We’ll figure this out together, he had said to you. The words almost automatic. But in that moment, he meant it with everything inside him. He didn’t know what the next steps were. He didn’t know how you both would navigate the challenges ahead. But one thing he knew for sure was that he wasn’t going anywhere.
He put the phone down, the silence of his room amplifying the thoughts swirling around in his head.
He had to be strong now. He had to step up, even if the world around him was uncertain. You needed him, and no matter what, he wasn’t going to let you go through this alone.
But deep down, a part of him couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling that the distance between you two wasn’t just going to disappear overnight. There was still so much unspoken, still so much tension from everything that had happened. He hated that. The idea of you both being so close, yet so far away, unsettled him in ways he couldn’t explain.
He needed time to process this, to figure out how to be there for you while still figuring out what it meant for him. He just hoped that in the end, the two of you would find a way to be okay, no matter how complicated things might get.

A Week Later: (Your POV)
You hadn’t planned to tell your parents anytime soon. In fact, you didn’t think you could. The thought of them finding out, of seeing their disappointed faces, was too much to bear. You weren’t ready for that conversation. Not when you had no answers for yourself, let alone for them.
For the first few days, it was a struggle just to look at the pregnancy test without feeling the weight of anxiety pressing on your chest. And then came the nausea and morning sickness. Or rather, all-day sickness.
At first, it was small. A queasy stomach here and there, an odd taste in your mouth, dizziness that would hit you out of nowhere. But soon, it became something far more intense. The moments when you'd feel that pull in your stomach, the wave of nausea that would hit and linger, relentless.
You tried to hide it from your parents as best as you could. They were busy with their own lives. Your mom always working around the house, your dad occupied with his endless to-do lists. But they weren’t oblivious. They noticed the small things. How you'd turn away from meals, how you'd suddenly retreat to your room with an excuse about studying or headaches.
But somehow, you managed to barely keep it together.

You spent most of your days curled up in bed, laptop resting on your bed as you half-listened to Zoom calls, pretending to take notes.
Assignments piled up, and you told yourself you were trying. Opening documents, typing a sentence, deleting it, starting again. But beneath it all, there was this quiet knowing.
Something was happening inside you, even if it barely felt real yet. A secret tucked away beneath oversized hoodies and late night silences. Something only you and Taehyung knew about for now.

It wasn’t until a few days later, when the constant wave of nausea became impossible to hide, that you finally broke down. You couldn’t keep it in anymore. You needed someone to talk to, someone who wouldn’t judge, someone who would just listen.
You grabbed your phone, your hands trembling, and called Nari. She was the one person you could always count on to be there, no matter what. The one person who had been by your side through everything. She needed to know about this too.
When she picked up, you could hear the concern in her voice immediately.
"Hey." She said. Her tone light but filled with an immediate sense of worry. "What’s going on?"
"I... I can’t hide it anymore." You whispered, your throat tight.
"Nari, I’m pregnant."
The silence on the other end felt like it lasted forever, and then she responded, her voice soft but laced with shock.
"You’re... pregnant?"
Feeling the weight of the words settle in the pit of your stomach. "Yeah. I found out a week ago, and I don’t know what to do."
"I'm not even sure how far along I am." You added.
There was another long pause on the other end, and you could almost hear Nari sorting through her thoughts. Her silence more telling than any words could be.
Finally, she spoke. Her voice gentle but firm, like a warm hand on your shoulder.
"Okay, take a deep breath." She said. "You’re not alone in this. First things first. Have you thought about what you want to do?"
You swallowed hard, the question catching you off guard. What did you want to do? That was the question you had been running from. You didn’t have an answer for her, for yourself. All you knew was that you couldn’t hide this any longer.
"I—I don’t know." You muttered, your voice barely audible. "I don’t even know how to tell my parents. I can’t imagine them finding out, Nari. I’m so scared."
Nari exhaled deeply. Her voice filled with empathy.
"I get it. I really do. But avoiding it is only going to make things harder. You can’t keep this to yourself forever. I know it feels like a lot, but you have time. You just need to take it one step at a time."
You closed your eyes, searching for a flicker of comfort in her words, but all you could feel was a heavy weight pressing on your chest. The idea of telling your parents felt like staring up at an impossible mountain, that was too steep and too high to ever climb.
How would they take it? With anger? Disappointment? Or something else you weren’t ready to face?
"I don’t even know if I can do this." You whispered, voice cracking. "I’m not ready to be a parent. I don’t even know what this means."
Nari was quiet for a moment before she responded, her tone unwavering. "You don’t have to have everything figured out right now. Nobody does. But you’ve always been strong. You’ve handled worse. And you’re going to figure this out. One step at a time."
"Does Taehyung know?" Nari’s quietly asked.
You swallowed hard. "Yeah, he knows."
There was a brief pause on the other end before Nari spoke again. "Okay... that’s good. At least you’re not carrying this alone."
"He says he wants to be there for me. That he’ll support me."
Nari hesitated, then said, "That’s good to hear. But... are you sure? What if he hurts you again? What if this just makes things worse?"
Your throat tightened. "I’m scared. I don’t know what will happen. But I have to believe he means it. For now, that’s all I have."
Nari’s voice held a quiet strength. "You’re not alone. I’m here, okay? We’ll get through this together."
You felt your heart lighten, knowing that no matter what happened next, you wouldn’t be facing it alone.
"Thanks. I really need that right now."
"You've got it." She said, her voice warm.
"And remember, no matter what, I’ve got your back."
You smiled, a weight lifting from your chest as you settled into the reassurance of her friendship. No matter what came next, you weren’t alone.

Taehyung's POV:
The past few days had felt like a blur. Lockdown had thrown everything into chaos, and Taehyung’s world had been confined to the apartment. The same four walls, and a constant stream of online classes. Uni was now operating remotely, and while that meant fewer distractions, it also meant more time to think, and thinking was something he couldn’t seem to escape.
Between assignments, video calls, and the occasional gaming session with the guys, he hadn’t had much time to really process everything.
But today, it felt like he couldn’t avoid it anymore. Everything. You. The pregnancy, was crashing down on him. He’d been holding it together, keeping up with classes, but in his head, he kept hearing the same question over and over.
What now?
His phone buzzed, interrupting his thoughts. It was the group chat. The guys were calling. He hesitated for a second before answering, hoping the distraction would pull him out of his spiral.
As the screen lit up, the familiar faces of the boys appeared. They were all in their usual spots. Some casually lounging, some scrolling through their phones, others laughing at something that only they could find funny. The background noise felt like a sense of normalcy, but not today.
Today, everything felt wrong.
“Yo, Tae! You good, bro?” Jungkook asked, his voice light, but there was a flicker of concern when he saw Taehyung’s expression.
“Yeah, just been busy with school,” Taehyung said, forcing a smile, though the weight on his chest made it hard to sound convincing.
“Long time no see, man!” Hoseok chimed in. A grin on his face as he tilted his camera.
“What’s been going on? You been buried under assignments?”
Taehyung nodded, his fingers absently tapping on the edge of his desk. “Yeah, pretty much. Online classes... They never stop.”
Jimin raised an eyebrow, sensing something was off.
“Yeah same here bro, but you don’t look like you’re just busy with school. What’s up?”
Taehyung felt the tightness in his chest grow. How could he tell them? How could he explain the whirlwind in his mind? That he was about to become a father? That you were pregnant?
But he knew he couldn’t hide it any longer. He took a deep breath and, against the growing pressure, finally spoke.
“I… I need to tell you guys something about Y/N.”
The mood shifted immediately. The screen went quiet, everyone’s faces turning serious. Jungkook was the first to speak, leaning closer to his camera. “What’s going on?”
“She’s pregnant.” Taehyung swallowed, his throat dry.
Another long pause.
“Wait, what?” Jimin’s voice cracked in disbelief.
“Pregnant? Are you sure?”
Taehyung nodded, unable to say anything more. His heart was pounding so hard he could barely hear anything else.
Hoseok was the first to respond, his face etched with concern. “Tae... You’re still in uni... Is she even ready for this? You think you’re ready? This is huge, man.”
Yoongi, ever the realist, was next. “You’re in the middle of your studies, and she’s probably just as confused. This could change everything for both of you. Are you sure you want to take this step?”
Taehyung bit his lip, the words echoing in his mind. He wasn’t sure. Was he ready? Was she? He didn’t know.
“I don’t know if I’m ready." He said finally, his voice strained.
“But... I want to be there for her.”
The guys didn’t immediately respond.
“Tae, I’m not saying you can’t do this. But you’ve got a lot of things on your plate already. This isn’t something you can take lightly.” Yoongi said.
Hoseok added, “She’s still in school too, and you’re juggling a lot. I don’t want you to regret it, man. It’s a huge change, and you’ve got to be sure that you can handle everything.”
“You’ve got time to think about it, bro. Don’t rush. Don’t let this decision weigh on you too much right now. We’re all here for you.” Jungook said. HIs face softened.
"There's always other options, right?" Namjoon said carefully. His tone wasn’t cold, just measured. Like he didn’t want to push, but he also couldn’t ignore the weight of what was happening.
Taehyung’s hands clenched by his lap. His jaw tensed as he stared at the corner of his desk, then back at the screen. “I just… I don’t want to let her down. I want to do right by her. By the baby. I don’t know what this means for the future, but I can’t just pretend it’s not happening.”
There was a long pause as the guys processed his words. Taehyung could feel the weight of their stares, even from miles away.
Finally, Yoongi spoke again, his voice softer now. “You don’t have to have everything figured out right away. Just take your time, okay? Think about it. Think about her, about everything. Don’t make any rash decisions.”
“I agree." Namjoon added, voice steady.
“I wasn’t trying to say you shouldn’t go through with this. Just... that it’s okay to ask the hard questions. It’s a lot. For both of you. But what matters most is that you’re honest, with her and with yourself.”
“I am." Taehyung said, eyes glossy but voice firm. “I’m scared. But I mean it. I’m not going anywhere this time.”
Jungkook gave a small nod, the edges of his lips lifting slightly. “Then we’ve got your back, bro. No matter what.”
“And hers too." Hoseok added with a grin. “We might not know what we’re doing, but... we’ll figure it out with you.”
Taehyung let out a shaky breath, the pressure in his chest easing just slightly.
“Thanks guys." He murmured. “I needed to hear that.”
The call ended soon after that, and Taehyung sat in the silence of his room, feeling like everything had shifted beneath him. He still didn’t have answers, still didn’t know how everything was going to play out. But for the first time in a while, he felt something more than just fear. He felt a spark of determination.
For now.

Taehyung wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but the nagging thought that he still needed to tell his parents about the pregnancy kept growing louder and louder. They already knew he and Y/N weren’t together anymore. It was obvious when they stopped hearing from him for weeks. He could only imagine what they’d say now.
His mind replayed every argument, every fight, every moment of silence between him and Y/N. They weren’t supposed to be here. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
With a heavy sigh, Taehyung dialed his mother’s number. Trying to swallow the lump in his throat. The phone rang three times before she picked up.
“Taehyung? Is everything okay?”
Her voice was filled with concern, but it also held that hint of caution. She had learned not to ask too many questions when things got complicated.
“I... I need to talk to you about something." Taehyung started. His words coming out in a shaky rush. “Y/N... she’s pregnant.”
He could hear his mother’s sharp intake of breath on the other end, and for a moment, the line went completely quiet. Her silence was louder than any words she could’ve said.
“Pregnant?” she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Taehyung… I thought you were being careful. And I thought you two weren’t even together anymore.”
They hadn’t been. Just over two month had passed since everything between you and him unraveled. You went your separate ways. Or rather, you walked away when he gave you nothing left to hold on to. But none of that changed the reality now. He was standing in the aftermath of a relationship that never healed, facing the consequences neither of you could have predicted.
“I know. We’re not together,” Taehyung said, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
“But this... this is real. She’s pregnant. And I don’t know what to do.”
His mother’s voice softened, but there was no denying the edge of disbelief in her tone. “Taehyung, this is... so complicated. You’re still in school. You’ve been through so much already. Y/N’s been through a lot. This isn’t what you need right now.”
He closed his eyes, the weight of her words hitting him harder than expected. “I know it’s complicated. But... I can’t just pretend it’s not happening. I can’t walk away from this. She needs me, Mom. And... I want to be there for her."
There was a long pause, and when his mother finally spoke again, it was with a sadness in her voice that he had never heard before.
“Taehyung, honey, you’re not ready for this. And neither is she. You’ve barely even had the time to heal from everything that happened. You were barely holding it together before all of this. You’re not ready to bring a child into the world.”
His mother’s words cut through him, each one like a sharp needle stabbing at the fragile place inside of him that had still hoped for something better. He wanted to argue, to tell her that he was ready, that he could do this, that it didn’t matter what had happened before. But the truth was deep down, he wasn’t.
The confusion surged up again, stronger than ever.
“I want to be ready.” Taehyung said quietly, almost pleading.
“I don’t know what to do, but I know I want to be there for her. She’s not alone in this. She never will be.”
His mother sighed, a sound so heavy with emotion that Taehyung felt like it was suffocating him.
“You have to think about the reality of this situation, Taehyung. This is not just some thing you can fix by being there. Neither of you have the resources, the time, the stability... you’ll be throwing away your future. Her future.”
He could feel the anger rising in his chest, but he held it back, biting his lip as he tried to keep his composure.
“I can’t just... tell her to get rid of it.” He snapped. His voice growing louder.
“I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to make her feel like she’s all alone in this, like she has no choice."
There was a silence, a deep, suffocating pause where Taehyung could hear his heart beating in his ears. Finally, his mother’s voice came back, softer but still firm.
“Taehyung, you have to be realistic. You’re not thinking clearly. You have no idea what this will do to your life. You’re still growing, still figuring things out. And Y/N, she’s not the one for you. You know that. You broke up for a reason.”
The words were like a slap to his face. His mind was reeling, but the worst part was hearing his mother say it out loud. The truth that had been there, unspoken, but never fully acknowledged.
You’re not the one for her.
He felt his stomach twist. The resentment bubbled up, and before he could stop it, the words slipped out.
“You’re telling me to end it. You want me to tell her to get an abortion, don’t you?”
His mother was quiet for a moment. And then, as if she couldn’t say it fast enough, she responded, “It’s what’s best, Taehyung. You have to think about your future, about what comes next.”
Taehyung’s head was spinning. His chest felt tight, suffocating. He wanted to scream, to cry, to argue. Instead, the anger coiled inside of him like a beast.
“Don’t... don’t say that.” Taehyung muttered, his voice hoarse.
“Don’t tell me what’s best for her.”
“Taehyung, please understand. I’m only saying this because I love you, and I want what’s best for you. For both of you.”
But he couldn’t hear it anymore. His anger flared, burning too brightly to ignore. Without thinking, he slammed his fist against the desk, and his words spilled out in a rush.
“Maybe you don’t understand, Mom. But I’m not walking away from it. And I’m not letting anyone tell me what’s best for me, or for Y/N. We’ll figure this out. We’ll figure it out together.”
“Taehyung—”
But he hung up before she could finish. His chest was heaving, and his body felt like it was trembling, as if the entire weight of the world had just landed on his shoulders.
The future seemed so uncertain now. Everything felt like it was spiralling out of control, and he didn’t know how to make it stop.

He had never felt this lost in his life, standing on the edge of something he couldn’t even begin to grasp.
He had tried to focus on his classes. Online lectures playing in the background, notes scribbled across pages but it was all a blur. Every time he glanced at his phone, his mind jumped back to that conversation with his mom. You’re not ready, her voice rang out in his head.
And that thought... terrified him.
He wasn’t ready to be a dad. He knew that. How could he be? He was still trying to figure himself out, still struggling with the weight of his mistakes. He cared about you, deeply.
And that was what kept him awake at night. That small voice in the back of his mind that told him, Don’t walk away from this. Don’t let her go through this alone.
The weight of the world was crushing him.
Each word from his parents, his friends, the endless loop of "you're not ready," "it's not the right time," "this will ruin everything," echoed in his mind like a relentless drumbeat.
He thought about everything. The advice from his mom, the urgency in his friends’ words. They all said the same thing. You’re not ready for this. This isn’t the right time. This will ruin your life.
Maybe they were right.
He wasn’t ready.

His fingers hovered over your name, trembling as they gripped the phone. It had been two days since the conversation with his mom, and everything felt like it was closing in on him. He hadn’t heard from his dad directly that day. However, this morning, he’d woken up to a message.
[Dad]: We’ll talk when you’re ready. Take care of yourself, son.
Taehyung stared at those words for what felt like hours, rereading them over and over. His dad never sent messages like that. Not unless something was really wrong. He knew that his mom must have told him. Of course she did.
He loved you. He always had. But he couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t enough. Not for you, not for the situation you both now faced. He was still trying to find his footing, still in school, still unsure of what his future held. How could he bring a child into this chaos, into a life that was still so unfinished?
Yet the idea of walking away, of letting you carry this alone, tore at him. You deserved someone who could stand beside you, not someone who wavered in silence.
With a shaky breath, he tapped your name.
It rang once.
Twice.
And on the third ring, you answered.
“Taehyung?” Your voice sounded different. Hesitant and quiet.
He swallowed hard, his heart pounding against his chest as he forced himself to speak.
“Y/N… we need to talk.”
The silence that followed felt suffocating. You didn’t say anything right away, but he could feel the weight of your thoughts and that only made everything harder.
“I’ve been thinking about everything.” Taehyung began. His voice shaky. He looked down at his hands, trying to steady himself.
“About the pregnancy. About... us. And I’ve come to a decision.”
Your breath hitched on the other side of the line. “What decision?” You asked, your voice small, almost pleading.
Taehyung closed his eyes, the words feeling like they were stuck in his throat. The words that felt like betrayal, like they didn’t belong in his mouth, but came out anyway.
“Y/N, maybe... maybe it's better for both of us if you get an abortion.”
It was like a slap to his own face. His chest clenched as the words left his mouth, and for a split second, everything inside him froze. But the damage was done. He couldn’t take it back.
There was silence for what felt like an eternity. His heart thundered in his ears, waiting for your reaction, and when it finally came, it wasn’t what he expected.
You whispered, “You want me to... what?”
His heart shattered. He wanted to take the words back, to hold you, to undo everything, but it was too late. He had said it. The door had been opened.
“I’m not ready, Y/N." Taehyung muttered, his voice cracking.
“I can’t be a father. I don’t have my life together. I still haven't graduated yet. I don’t even know who I am yet. I don’t have the right to ask you to go through with this.”
You were quiet on the other end, and when you spoke, your voice was barely above a whisper. “You think I want this alone? You think I would’ve told you if I didn’t need you here with me?”
His mind screamed at him to stop, to apologise, but the words came out anyway.
“I’m sorry. But I think it’s the right choice. We both need to think about our futures. You need to think about yours, about your career, your life. It’s too late to fix everything.”
There was a long, agonising silence. He could hear you breathing, the tremble in each inhale.
“Taehyung...” You were crying now, and the sound broke him.
The guilt was suffocating. Every fiber of his being screamed for him to take it back, to tell you he was wrong. But he couldn’t. He had already convinced himself. This was the only way. He didn’t want to ruin your life, didn’t want to tie you to him. Someone who wasn’t ready, someone who would drag you down.
“I just want what’s best for you.” Taehyung said. The words feeling hollow even to him. He was waiting for you to talk, to say anything.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, his voice breaking as the finality of his words crushed him. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t call me again, Taehyung.” you said. Your voice so quiet, so shattered, he could barely hear it.
“Just... don’t.”
The call ended, and Taehyung was left alone in the dark, the weight of everything crashing down on him.
The pain of it all consumed him. His fear, his guilt, his love for you, everything twisted into something unrecognisable. He had just destroyed the one thing that mattered most to him. And now, he didn’t know how to make it right.

A day later: (Your POV)
The last phone call with Taehyung had torn you to pieces.
You had been bracing for it, even expecting it. But it still hit harder than you could have ever imagined. But as you lay there in the silence of the room, the weight of his absence was unbearable. You missed him, more than you ever thought possible.
You missed the warmth of his touch, the way he used to make you laugh, the quiet moments when you thought you were invincible together.
Despite everything, despite all the anger and hurt. You wanted him there. You wanted him to come back and fix it, to show up like he always promised he would.
But he wasn’t coming.
And that thought broke you all over again.

The morning light crept in through the curtains, soft and pale, brushing against your skin like a quiet reminder that the world kept turning. Despite how still everything felt inside you. You hadn’t slept. Just hours of tossing beneath the sheets, your thoughts tangled in confusion, guilt, anger. And a deep, aching sadness you couldn’t shake.
Your phone sat heavy in your hand, its screen dark, waiting. You’d cried yourself to sleep, but now there were no more tears. Just the numb weight of reality pressing against your chest.
You told yourself Taehyung’s choice shouldn’t affect you. This was your body and your decision. His doubts and fears didn’t have to become yours. Still, an unexpected sadness lingered beneath the surface, a quiet ache that didn’t make sense.
You weren’t ready to be a mother. The emotions tangled inside you. It felt raw, fractured, and overwhelming. Your thoughts flickered in and out like broken light.
Almost without thinking, you opened the clinic’s website. Your fingers trembled as you scrolled, the words on the screen swimming in and out of focus.
This was the next step, and maybe the final one.

Since restrictions had eased a little, you told your parents you needed to take Nari to the doctor for a routine check-up. It was an excuse they didn’t question. But the clinic you drove to wasn’t for her. It was for you. And the appointment wasn’t really a check-up. It was a consultation.
Before going, you had finally told Nari about your decision. You weren’t sure how she would react, but she surprised you with her quiet, steady support. It was a small relief amid everything.

The waiting room smelled sterile, like every other clinic you’d ever been to. Antiseptic and artificial flowers. You sat stiffly in the corner chair, your hands folded tightly in your lap, sweater sleeves pulled over your palms. You kept your eyes on the tiled floor, not wanting to meet anyone else’s gaze.
Your name was called softly.
You followed the nurse down a quiet hallway into a consultation room. The lights were bright, too white, the kind that made everything feel colder than it was. She was kind and gentle. She explained the process of what to expect, and asked if you'd had an ultrasound yet.
You shook your head.
“Alright.” She said quietly. Wheeling the small machine closer.
“We’ll do a quick scan to confirm how far along you are.”
You laid down slowly, pushing up the hem of your hoodie, your heart thudding against your ribs. The gel was cold when she applied it to your lower belly, and you flinched instinctively. The screen flickered to life, and her eyes scanned it carefully.
The silence was deafening.
Her brows furrowed slightly, and she adjusted the wand.
“How far along did you think you were?” She asked gently.
“Nine weeks. Maybe ten.”
She gave a small nod, but didn’t look away from the screen.
When she finally spoke, her voice was quieter.
“You’re further along than that.”
You blinked. “What?”
“You’re closer to fifteen weeks.”
Your body went numb. The numbers spun in your head. You swallowed hard.
“That… that can’t be right.”
She turned the screen slightly, pointing to the shape on the monitor.
“Measurements don’t lie. Based on the length and development, you’re already in your second trimester.”
You stared, your mouth dry.
“You wouldn’t be eligible for a medical termination,” she said gently, watching you closely. “At this point, the only option available would be a surgical procedure.”
Your chest tightened.
She seemed to notice the way your breath hitched — the way your shoulders tensed instinctively — and her expression softened further.
“You don’t have to make any decisions today,” she added quickly, her voice calm and steady. “This is just the consultation. We’re here to inform you, support you, not rush you.”
You gave a small nod, though the room suddenly felt a little smaller, a little quieter.
She continued, carefully choosing her words.
“Because you’re at fifteen weeks, this would be considered a second-trimester procedure. That makes it more complex, and carries a few more risks than earlier terminations. Things like bleeding, infection, or injury to the uterus or nearby organs, while uncommon, are still possibilities we need to make you aware of. And the procedure is usually done under sedation or general anesthesia, so we’ll go over those risks as well.”
You swallowed hard. “Okay… I understand,” you murmured, though the words felt like they were coming from somewhere far away.
The nurse paused, letting the silence breathe. Then her tone softened again, warmer now not clinical.
“This can be a very emotional experience.” She said.
“And we want to make sure you’re supported through all of it. Nott just medically, but emotionally too. You’ll have access to counseling, both before and after the procedure, depending on what feels right for you. Some people want to talk, some don’t. But just know… you don’t have to go through this alone.”
You nodded again, slowly this time. Not out of understanding, but acknowledgment. Like you were clinging to the sound of her voice more than the meaning of her words.
When you left the clinic, you didn’t go straight home. You walked aimlessly for a while, the world blurring at the edges, your thoughts knotted and impossible to untangle.
You couldn’t stop thinking about the image on the screen. How it wasn’t just a shadow anymore. There were tiny limbs now. A heartbeat. A curve to a spine.
Fifteen weeks.
That night, sleep never came. Your body ached from the tension, your heart from the ache of it all. And the next morning, after staring at your phone for an hour straight, you picked it up and called the clinic back.
With trembling hands, you booked the procedure.
It was the only option now.
Or at least, that’s what everyone kept telling you.
And maybe, just maybe… you were starting to believe them.

It was a Thursday afternoon, one of those quiet lockdown days where the house was filled with the faint scent of steamed rice, the hum of the washing machine, and the soft shuffle of slippers on the floorboards.
You had been lying on the couch with a fleece blanket over you, hoodie zipped up halfway. The sleeves pulled over your hands. You felt warm. Not just physically but oddly comforted, being back in the home where you grew up.
The childhood family photos on the wall. The dull floral curtains that never changed. You thought you could hide here forever, at least until you could figure out your next move.
Your mum was in the kitchen, humming softly to herself. You didn’t even notice her walk into the living room until she stood beside you, holding a bowl of sliced fruit.
“You haven’t been eating much.” She said gently, offering it to you.
“I’m okay.” You mumbled, shifting your blanket higher.
She didn’t say anything at first. Just sat down on the edge of the coffee table facing you. Studying you. The way mothers do when they already know something they haven’t said out loud yet.
Her eyes dropped down to your midsection. “You’ve been wearing hoodies a lot lately.”
You froze.
“Even inside. Even when it’s warm.”
You swallowed. “I just feel more comfortable like this.”
She tilted her head slightly, her voice soft. “Stand up for a moment.”
Your stomach churned. “Why?”
“Just for a second.”
You hesitated, but slowly pushed yourself to your feet, your arms crossed over your chest. She looked at you and then she took a small step forward. Her hand reaching out. You stepped back instinctively.
“Sweetheart.” She said.
Still, your body tensed as her fingers gently moved the blanket and reached for the bottom hem of your hoodie.
You didn’t stop her.
She lifted it, just a little. Just enough to see the curve. The subtle roundness of a belly that hadn’t been there a few weeks ago. The way the waistband of your leggings no longer sat flat.
Your eyes stung instantly. Your heart thudded.
Her hand dropped, and her face changed. Something between heartbreak, realisation, and something far more complex.
A mother’s kind of pain.
“Are you…” Her voice cracked. “Are you pregnant?”
You couldn’t speak. You just nodded, lip trembling.
Her hand went to her mouth. “Oh my God.”
She sat down again, slowly, as if the room had spun.
“I was going to tell you,.” You whispered, voice breaking. Knowing that was a lie.
“I just… I didn’t know how.”
A long silence filled the room.
When she finally looked up at you, her eyes were full. “How far along?”
“Fifteen weeks…”
Her shoulders sank. “Fifteen weeks?!”
“I didn’t want to disappoint you.”
Her face crumpled at that, and tears welled in her eyes.
Your mum had stopped crying. The silence that followed wasn’t warm or comforting anymore. It was thick, heavy, and full of disappointment. She stood up and paced slowly across the living room, arms crossed over her chest, eyes darting to the floor and back at you.
“I just don’t understand… why you guys weren’t being careful.” She said sharply, wiping her eyes with the back of her sleeve.
“Didn’t they teach you that back in High School??!”
“You had such a bright future. You’re studying to get your bachelor’s degree, everything going for you. And you let this happen?”
Her words sliced into you deeper than she probably meant them to.
“Mum…” You whispered.
“No, I just—” She paused, taking a deep breath. “I’m not angry that you’re pregnant. I’m just very disappointed. I’m also angry you didn’t come to us. That you were going through this alone. Hiding it. What if something went wrong? What if—” Her voice cracked again.
“What if something happens to you?”
You swallowed the lump in your throat, guilt burning in your chest.
Then the front door opened.
Your dad’s voice echoed faintly from the hallway.
“What’s going on?”
He stepped into the living room, eyebrows furrowed at the sight of his wife pacing and you sitting there teary-eyed and red-faced. He looked from her to you, and then his eyes dropped instinctively to your stomach.
He wasn’t dumb.
He didn’t ask.
Your dad let out a breath, walked forward, and sat down slowly across from you. His face was unreadable. The kind of stillness that made you hold your breath.
Then he just nodded once.
“So.” Said quietly, “It’s true?.”
You nodded, shame curling in your chest like smoke.
You couldn’t bring yourself to meet your dad’s eyes. Not when you felt like you’d let him down.
“What’s already happened… happened. There’s no changing it now. But from here on, let us help you.”
You didn’t expect that. No yelling. No storming out. Just… acceptance. Like he’d already processed it in the few seconds it took to sit down.
“I’m sorry, Dad.” You murmured. Finally getting the courage to look at him.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees.
“I’m not going to pretend I’m not upset. You’re young. This isn’t what we wanted for you. But life doesn’t always care what we planned.”
“And what exactly is the plan now? What are you going to do?” Your mum chimed in. Voice strained but firmer this time.
“I’ve been planning to go ahead with the procedure.” You said, hesitantly and heart pounding.
They both froze.
“To… get it taken out.”
The air turned solid.
Your mum blinked, slowly sitting down beside your dad. Her hand clutched the fabric of her skirt.
“You mean—an abortion?”
You nodded, throat dry. “I didn’t know what else to do. He doesn’t want it. He says it’ll ruin everything. That we’re not ready. That—”
Your voice cracked. The words caught in your throat like glass.
Your dad leaned back, his jaw tight. “And what do you want?”
You blinked at him.
“I’m asking.” He said gently, “what you want. Not him.”
You couldn’t hold it in anymore. Your chest collapsed into sobs.
“I don’t know! I don’t know what I want. I feel like I’m drowning. I didn’t even want to tell anyone. I just wanted it all to stop. I didn’t think he’d react this way. I thought—”
“You thought he’d come around.” Yor mum finished, tears building in her eyes again.
You nodded through your tears.
Your mum and dad exchanged a look, a quiet agreement passing between them.
“We want to talk to him. Face to face.” Your dad said.
You looked up, startled. “What?”
“Taehyung.” Your mum said firmly.
“He needs to come here. We need to have a proper conversation. You’re not doing this alone anymore.”
Your hands trembled in your lap.
“He might not come.”
“Then that says everything we need to know.” Your dad said quietly.

The next morning, you stood in front of your phone for a full ten minutes before typing the message:
[You]: My parents want to speak with you. Please come over.
You didn’t wait for a reply. You couldn’t.
Now all you could do was wait.

The dining room had never felt so formal and heavy.
Your mum had pulled out the good plates. The ones usually reserved for New Year’s or special guests . She set them down with care. Not because there’d be food, but because hosting gave her something to do with her hands.
Your dad sat at the head of the table, posture straight, palms folded neatly. His face unreadable, but stern. The air was thick with unspoken expectations.
And you? You sat with your heart crumbling in slow motion. The faint nausea didn’t help. The subtle reminder of what was growing inside you, regardless of what anyone decided in the next hour.
Then all of a sudden.
The doorbell rang.
Your chest dropped.
You stood to open it, feet heavy, like wading through syrup. And there he was.
Taehyung.
Standing with his head slightly bowed, hands in his hoodie pocket, that nervous half-smile he wore when he knew he’d messed up. His eyes met yours for a moment before drifting past you into the house. The place he once came to with flowers. Where he watched movies with your dad and helped your mum with the dishes after dinner. It felt like a different lifetime.
“Thanks for coming.” You said flatly.
“Yeah.” He muttered.
You led him into the dining room. He nodded politely at your parents. They nodded back, stiff but not hostile.
Taehyung took a seat beside you. Not too close.
“We wanted to have this conversation because what’s happening now involves all of us.” She said firmly, not wasting any time. Her eyes trained on him.
“This is not just between you and her anymore.”
Taehyung nodded slowly. “I understand.”
Your dad’s voice was quiet, controlled. “We heard about the appointment. About the idea of… the abortion.”
Taehyung looked down. “Yeah.”
“Is that really what you want?” Your mum asked, her voice calm but firm.
Taehyung hesitated. His eyes dropped to the floor. “I don’t know.” He admitted quietly.
“I thought I did. I was scared. We’re still in uni… life’s already overwhelming. I just kept thinking. This would make everything harder.”
Your dad gave a slow nod. “It will be hard. No one’s denying that. But this isn’t hypothetical anymore. What’s done is done. Y/N is already far along… and if she goes through with a surgical procedure now, it could seriously endanger her life.”
Taehyung eyes widened slightly and he swallowed hard. “I know that.”
“Do you?” Your mum asked, softer this time.
“Because if you did, you wouldn’t have ignored her. You wouldn’t have made her feel like she had to do this alone.”
That’s when you finally spoke, voice trembling. “He doesn’t want it. He said he supports me, but everything he says makes me feel like this is a burden. Like I’m a burden.”
Taehyung turned to you, guilt etched into every corner of his face.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“But it’s how it feels, Tae.” You said. The sharpness in your tone cracking under emotion.
“You say one thing, then you say another. You disappear for days and then show up saying you miss me. You say you’ll be here but then you run to Jisoo when she calls. I can’t keep doing this. I won’t.”
Silence.
Your dad finally broke it. “Are you going to be a father, Taehyung? Or are you going to keep running away and leaving her to clean up the pieces?”
Taehyung stared at the table. His voice was small. “I’m scared.”
“We all are,.” Your mum said.
“But fear is not an excuse to abandon responsibility.”
You didn’t realize you were crying until your dad reached over and gently handed you a tissue. “We’ll support her. Whether you’re part of this or not.”
“But you need to decide. Right now. Because she deserves better than half-truths and emotional whiplash.” Your mum added.
Taehyung nodded slowly, lips parted like he wanted to say something, but didn’t. His fingers tapped nervously on his thigh.
“I’ll… I’ll be there.” He said finally, almost too quietly.
“I’ll step up. I want to be there for her… and for the baby.”
Your parents looked at each other. Your dad nodded once. Your mum sat back, still wary but quiet.
But you? You turned to look at him, really look at him. His jaw was tight, but his eyes. They flickered with something that wasn’t conviction. It was hesitation.
Conflict.
It hit you then. Maybe he wanted to mean those words.
Or maybe…
Maybe he was just saying them because everyone in the room expected him to.
Because he hated confrontation. Because he’d rather lie than let people down. Because Taehyung was a people pleaser to his core.
The boy who once memorized your coffee order now couldn’t even look you in the eye without blinking away his own uncertainty.
“Okay.” You forced a nod.
But deep down, you knew.
Even if he stayed… he wasn’t in it.
Not the way you were and not the way he should be.
And that truth would hurt more than if he’d simply walked away.

rewatching happiness (tvN, 2021) since it's on netflix now and i forgot how wild this show is
on the one hand, you have an almost too-realistic depiction of a zombie outbreak in a post-covid world with some of the most evil and selfish characters i've seen in a kdrama - the wife-killing doctor who would rather let everyone in the apartment get infected than risk going to jail for his crimes, the obnoxious woman gunning for the building rep position so she can embezzle the funds who is willing to be an accessory to murder to get what she wants, the cheating lawyer who constantly belittles his poor wife, the doctor's ex-mistress who becomes the lawyer's new mistress basically as soon as the lockdown starts, the cleaners who use the lockdown to make money by charging exorbitant prices for food and just become more and more greedy as the show progresses, the rich executive who knowingly put the drug on the market in the hopes that mass infection would lead to a quicker cure and then tried to use his wealth and power to cut the line to be first in line for the cure, and let's not forget the whole ass serial killer who uses the lockdown to commit more murders
the first time i watched this show i almost dropped it because everyone is SO stupid and selfish and horrible, especially in the last few episodes, but there are also moments in the show where it presents a genuinely compelling argument for the value of community and helping each other in times of crisis and how human connection is the solution, not the problem, even during lockdowns and quarantine - many of the infected who never end up biting other people are able to hold onto their humanity because of their connections to family and friends and thanks to the support from others around them, and the show makes an effort to remind us again and again that the infected are not monsters, that they're still human, and in fact, they often display more humanity than some of the people who haven't been infected
and then in the midst of this bonkers almost zombie apocalypse, you also somehow have, in my opinion, one of THE best romances in kdrama history featuring some truly iconic tropes - friends to lovers, he falls first, marriage of convenience, forced cohabitation, badass battle couple, he's calm and level-headed while she's brash and impulsive but they both go absolutely feral whenever the other one is in danger
yoon sae beom the woman that you are!!!!!! han hyo joo has played some very memorable characters over the years (most recently in both moving and blood free) and she is so so SO good here as sae beom, who runs headfirst into danger, who never hesitates to put bullies in their place, who is quick to anger but also quick to forgive, who is kind but not naive, who is realistic but never cynical and always tries to do the right thing and help people, even (and perhaps especially) if they wouldn't do the same for her
jung yi hyun, the man that you are!!!! truly one of the best male leads of all time and easily my favorite role of park hyung sik's, this competent law-abiding citizen and detective is just trying his best to maintain order and uphold justice in the midst of chaos, and though he is perhaps jaded from his day job, he is still empathetic and understanding of the infected - yi hyun, whose desire to protect the people he cares about is stronger than his thirst and hunger, who only lets himself succumb to the hunger when he's sure that his loved ones are safe, you will always be famous!!!!
the chemistry between han hyo joo and park hyung sik is INSANE and their relationship is just *chef's kiss* - the mutual trust and devotion, the way he calms her down when she gets worked up, the way she reminds him not to always assume the worst in people, THE ELEVATOR SCENE where he tries to be noble and sacrifice himself to save her while she says fuck that and refuses to let go of his hand, the fact that he is terrified of hurting her just as she is absolutely certain that he never will, the video he recorded for her!!!!!!!, the way she refuses to give up on him after she gets out, the fact that it's her voice that brings him back in the end, the way they are each other's happiness!!!
i will be chasing the high of this romance for the rest of my kdrama-watching days, i fear
and special shoutout to han tae seok - the man said i am here to serve cunt, save my wife and unborn child, find a cure for this disease, and be a menace to my superiors, in that order, and then proceeded to do all that and then some while also lying left and right for 12 episodes straight
this drama really has it all: a new twist on zombies, a compelling romance with insane chemistry, genuinely high stakes and tension, a cunty army colonel, and the unnecessary addition of a serial killer plotline before it was cool

So we both agree that chase is the one who fell in love first but who fell HARDER
…………………………………………still chase lmaooooo
the weird thing is that they're both such a mess of abandonment issues, right? cameron is petrified of loss, which usually manifests itself as her being afraid of death, but very much also manifests in how she tries to control and diminish her relationships: she gives up entirely on house at first rejection -- and, crucially, at the first hint that he understands her -- (in an earlier episode, we also see her lash out and handle basic criticism terribly; cameron does not handle rejection well at all) and keeps trying to micromanage and arrange outs with chase to avoid this happening: she can't be hurt if she isn't vulnerable, right?
as much as i hate saviors, she really sums it up: she ghosts chase not because she doesn't want to marry him, but because she is somehow convinced it is not real, he is only reacting to kutner's death, he doesn't mean it, he doesn't really want her. we see it in lockdown, too: she says she is broken, she is the problem. cameron, i think, does see herself as incapable of being loved, deep down. she is afraid of being vulnerable. cameron has been hurt a lot. she has lost a lot. she is afraid of commitment, because she is afraid of loss.
and chase is the same, but a different flavor of the same, right? he's less afraid of loss, because he's never really had love in the first place: his mother was explicitly abusive, and his father was neglectful at best. he is desperate for connection and intimacy and love, but unlike cameron -- who seems to have had a reasonably "normal" upbringing, who did fall in love, repeatedly, in her life, despite the attached trauma and guilt -- we don't really get a sense he's found it before. has he ever dated anyone? we hear about foreman casually dating multiple women. at best, chase briefly slept with a woman who liked to be burned. and maybe that was a serious relationship, but… the signs point to no. we see he's prone to some jealousy and insecurity -- fear of loss, fear of losing cameron -- and that once they have split up, he spends a year and a half or so explicitly trying to recreate that feeling (the show states this pretty bluntly).
HOUSE: Yes, [Chase has] been dating at a near-Clooney pace recently, but at this point, the only hole he's trying to fill is the one in his soul, which means it's the emotional connection with Cameron that he misses.
he's been abandoned by his parents/adults/later cameron, so he seeks out connections pretty desperately; he doesn't really know the pain of loss/rejection pre-divorce because he's never had it to start with, you know? cameron has already suffered heartbreak and loss, and is exceptionally guarded as a result.
so, chase absolutely fell first. no question. and he fell harder, because imagine the fucking rush, your first little teenage crush and serious relationship all at once, and it's with cameron who is so sweet and nice and good at this (and just as much of a freak as he is). but i don't think cameron was really much better! we see in fwb era that she sucks at it: "i will never fall for you and this is totally casual" to "spending day and night together, coming into work together after showering together" in the span of one episode. we see how often she is willing to push herself and do whatever she can to make chase happy -- not that he is super demanding, but like. he spends a year afraid to ask her for closet space, and within an hour of her finding out, she's run home to do it, you know? she's just… more cautious than he is, at least at this stage in their lives.
at one point in s5, cameron complains to house that chase has a "naive, romantic view of relationships." this is so funny. it is also so true, and really sums them up: cameron spends the entire relationship braced for a bad ending, because that's all she knows. chase could die. he could cheat on her. he could propose and not mean it. he could realize she's broken and bad and dump her.
chase, meanwhile, has lived his life trying to earn love and respect (from dad, god, house, you name it) by doing everything he's told and being good; he is planning out his and cameron's future and vacations and their three kids, because if he's good and obedient and does everything right, she'll love him back.
#and then they get divorced and chase is like oh. i get it now. and never ever lets himself be vulnerable like that ever again <3#malpractice posting#robert chase#chameron#allison cameron

How have you been so blissfully ignorant all this time?
These past few years of your life, the ones you once looked back upon as the best of your life thus far, were tainted with a dark stain.
You don’t know how you missed it. All the signs were there, but maybe you were just too happy to believe that something could’ve been wrong in the first place.
Being a streamer, and a successful one at that, was a blessing you never thought you’d have. It led you to all of your best friends, and to your boyfriend of nearly three years. Wilbur Soot, more commonly known now as Will Gold, who you met through your friends Niki and Shelby. It felt like it was fate, meeting him. You were at a point in life where things just felt sour all the time, and you barely had the energy to create content at the time. Then, around the beginning of January 2020, Niki asked if you wanted to make a video with her, Philza, and Wilbur, and from there things were history.
After starting dating over the internet for a while, and with the lockdowns coming and going frequently, you and Wilbur met for the first time in his tiny flat in London. It was amazing, spending that time together, just the two of you. Deciding to make things public and when was a tough decision, but you thought it would be safer to do so after you took the jump and moved to England. You’d never forget that conversation, sitting on your kitchen counter at 4am.
“And you’re sure you want to do that?” Wilbur asked. “I mean, moving here, moving across the country just so we can be together it’s- it’s-”
“A big step, Will. I know. But it’s been almost a year, you know. Restrictions are lifting soon. And I want to be with you. I want to be able to see Tommy and Phil and Niki and Jack easier. I want to be happy.” You told him. “I know I have Shelby here, and I love her with everything I have, but she’s the only thing here and it’s just not enough anymore. I need you.”
After a long, anxiety-inducing silence, Wilbur sighed. “I know. I need you too. I just want to make sure you’re making the right decision here, you know? I don’t want you to have gone through all that trouble just to get here and find you don’t like it, or something happens and you have to go back, anyway.”
You shook your head, even though your boyfriend couldn’t see you. “Nothing’s going to go wrong, Wilbur. I know what I want. And besides, there’s no place on Earth I wouldn’t live if it meant I could live with you.”
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“You should go to sleep. It’s almost 5 in the morning. You need rest.” Wilbur told you, and you couldn’t help but smile.
“I know, I know. I’ll talk to you later, though. I promise.”
“Alright, darling. Love you.”
“Love you, too, Will.”

And it was after a long, unnecessarily stressful process with customs and gathering the right papers, that you finally moved in with Wilbur, who began renting an apartment in Brighton not long after the process began.
Over a several-week-long process, you met all of your best friends in person for the first time, and it was the best few weeks of your life. Niki especially was excited to meet you, and she was one of the first to do so.
Life for the next year or so was amazing to say the least. Yours and Wilbur’s respective careers were taking off, his in music and yours in streaming and on YouTube. Everything was coming out on top for the both of you, and for all of your friends.
Until now, you were the happiest you’ve felt in a very long time.
You and Wilbur had been travelling for his tour for a while now, both of you putting off streaming to travel with the rest of Lovejoy for their very first American tour. Christmas was closing in, and you were in California, visiting Shelby, Quackity, and a ton of other friends that you hadn’t seen in a long time.
Wilbur’s show was amazing, as per usual, and you and Shelby spent the whole night glued to one another. Will, like he normally did during the performances when you were in the crowd, kept tossing loving glances your way for most of the set. He even dragged Quackity on stage to cover a song with him. It was truly amazing.

The trip to see your friends, and the rest of the tour overall, was amazing. After it ended and you all went back to England, you noticed a shift in Wilbur’s behaviour. At first you assumed it was just work stress and post-tour burnout of sorts, but soon it became very apparent that it wasn’t directed at anyone but you.
You spent a lot of time around Wilbur and your friends, as group hangouts became very common since you were both gone for so long. They were normally hosted at Tommy’s flat or James’, sometimes Jack’s house or round yours. It was always fun, though, and that’s what mattered.
Streams became frequent again, both solo and with whoever was available at the time, planned or not. You even did a subathon for your birthday that lasted a week and a half. You invited everyone in the area to come over for cake, called those who were too far away and everything; it truly was a wonderful birthday.
Content creation was always unpredictable, and everyone’s lives were hectic, so you weren’t too surprised when Shelby stopped communicating with you as frequently over the next few months. The summer of 2023 seemed to be busy for everyone, including yourself.
You were helping Tommy with his tours and upcoming plans, and your own plans for the future had you being pulled every which way. Wilbur even bought a house for the two of you, despite the rift that was still forming between the two of you. He spent most nights in his office, playing video games or working on music.
Still, even with the distance between you, you never would’ve guessed that the others could see it, too.
It started with James giving you odd looks whenever you’d excuse Wilbur’s lack of presence at hangouts, even when they were at your house. Then Niki, who asked if you were okay on more than one occasion. Then Jack, who came to you about an editing problem and brought up how you hadn’t mentioned Wilbur in a little while, and whose mood seemed to sully when you shrugged and told him it was because he was very busy right now. Then one by one, it seemed everyone was catching onto it, and you nearly shouted at them to leave you alone, because it was your relationship and you didn’t see any problems.
Even if Wilbur barely slept in the same bed as you anymore. Even if he rarely ever touched or kissed you anymore.
Niki. Poor, unfortunate Niki, was the first to find out why. She never told you how, or who told her, but she was the only one who knew. She came to you with it on a beautiful Friday afternoon, a day where you both decided to not stream in favour of a nice, relaxing afternoon in your backyard, drinking coffee at a little table in your garden, full of flowers and flourishing at your hand and hard work.
She’d seemed off to you the entire time she was there, quietly sipping on her second cup of coffee and admiring the flowers.
“Are you okay, Niki?” You’d asked, eyeing her with concern.
Her eyes snapped to yours from the peonies beside her. “What? I’m fine, Y/n, don’t worry.”
“You sure?” You asked. “You seem… off. Like something’s bothering you. If you want to talk, we can, I mean, we’ve been friends for long enough that you can tell me anything you want. You know that, right?”
“Of course, I’m not an idiot.” She stated, fiddling with her fingers. Her stature was small, eyes attempting to steer clear of your gaze and finding solace in her mug. “I just- I don’t know if you’ll like what I have to say, and I don’t want to hurt you. You’re my best friend.”
You smiled gently at the girl. “Don’t worry, Niki. If there’s something you need to tell me, I’m sure I can handle it. You can’t hurt me that badly.”
Your smile faltered when Niki’s weary eyes met yours. “Y/n, I’m so sorry. I only found out last night, and I hate to be the one to tell you, especially because it’s not any of my business, I just felt that you needed to know, I-”
“Niki, calm down,” you reached out to place your hand atop hers, and she turned it over to grip it in return. “What’s going on?”
“It’s Wilbur.” She sighed, and your heart rate skyrocketed. “I know why he’s not acting himself around you.”
“Is he okay? I mean, he’s healthy right?” You asked. “Why wouldn’t he tell me this himself?”
“Because he didn’t want you to know.” She said, tears forming in her eyes. “He’s not sick or anything, Y/n. He’s… he’s in love with someone else.”
The world around you could’ve set fire and you wouldn’t have known. Niki’s words rang in your ears, and your heart plummeted from the place in your chest, as if Wilbur himself had dropped it from the safe place you put it; right into his hands.
“With who? Do I know her?”
Niki only nodded, sniffling and blinking away her tears while yours threatened to fall. After a long silence and a heavy sigh, she squeezed your hand again and opened her mouth, her next words coming out shakily. “It’s… Y/n, it’s Shelby.”
You pulled your hand from hers. “What?”
“They’ve been talking for months now. She told me last night and I haven’t spoken to her since then,” Niki swore. “She said she feels bad for doing this to you, especially because she rejected Wilbur for a long time and you’re best friends. I guess she couldn’t stop herself after a while. I don’t know. All she said was that Wilbur initiated it.”
“She still participated.” You said, words lined with tears. “Do you know how long he’s been… been pursuing her?” You nearly gagged on the words.
Niki nodded. “Since the LA performance in December.”
Somehow, your heart fell further than it did before.
Finding out was a blessing and a curse, really. Everything started to make sense once you truly thought it over. All those nights holed up in his office lately, the distance that formed after the tour ended. Those loving glances during the LA show. Somehow, you could tell now that they weren’t for you.
After you talked and cried more about it with Niki, she left to go tend to her cats in her apartment, and offered a place to stay if you needed it.
You spent hours on the couch, anxiously awaiting Wilbur’s return from the studio. Your stomach turned with the thought that he could be on the phone with Shelby right now, chatting and making her laugh and telling her how much he felt for her. You almost broke when you wondered if he’d ever told her he loved her.
Finally, well after sundown, the door creaked open and shut. In walked Wilbur, guitar case gripped in one hand, shoulders sagging from the weight of the day.
“Hello, love.” You said, barely looking at him, words cold as ice.
He tossed a quick glance at you. “Hi, darling. How was your day?”
“Good.” You said, watching him lean the guitar against the arm of the couch, lazily kissing your head as he did.
Somehow, after all these months of being emotionally distant, Wilbur could tell something was wrong. “You okay?” He asked as he headed to the kitchen on the opposite side of the house.
With a sigh, you stood up and clenched your fists. Might as well get it over with. “What’s going on with you lately, Will?”
His brows furrowed as he stopped in the doorway, turning to face you. “What d’you mean? I’m fine, darling.”
“No you’re not.” You said. “You’ve been distant, and for a while now. You’ve been borderline avoiding me. It’s like you’re not even in a relationship with me! Like you don’t want to be in a relationship with me anymore! Did you know our friends have noticed? Every time I show up to a gathering without you they ask what’s wrong. Where you are. And I have nothing to say because I didn’t think anything was wrong.”
Wilbur sighed, face scrunched with indignation. “That’s because nothing’s wrong. I’m just busy.”
“Really? What, busy talking to Shelby?”
Wilbur’s face fell, the colour going with it.
“Yeah, don’t act surprised, Will. I know.” You said, the emotion finally flowing back to you. “I know you’ve been seeing my best friend behind my back. I know you’ve been pursuing her for a year. Niki told me. She said you’ve been after Shelby, wearing her down, trying to get her to go behind everyone’s back. After all this time, after everything we’ve been through, and you cheat on me with her of all people? My best friend. The woman who helped introduce us and you didn’t think I’d find out at some point?”
“Look, it’s not what you think, I just-”
“Just what, Wilbur?” You asked, biting back a sob. “Just wanted to use me to get to her? I don’t even know why you asked me out in the first place. I knew you had a crush on her before we started dating.” You breathed a shaky sigh, wiping the tears from your cheeks. “I guess I was just naive enough to think you’d gotten over it. Maybe you did, for a little while.”
“I swear, it’s nothing like that, Y/n. I love you, I do.” He pleaded. “Just let me explain everything, please.”
“I don’t want to hear it. I can’t believe you, Wilbur. You bought a house for us! I moved here for you! We were building a life together! And you tore it all down for her!” You screamed. The neighbours could probably hear you by now, but you didn’t care. You needed to let everything out. “I left my family behind, my life behind for you. That’s how much I love you. I guess you just don’t love me enough to do the same.”
“Y/n, don’t- I love you, too. We can fix this, I swear. I promise.”
“Fuck you.” You spat, catching Wilbur off guard. “You don’t love me. Not enough to cheat on me with one of my best friends. So fuck you, William. It’s me or her. You don’t get to have us both. I won’t put myself through that.”
Wilbur’s eyes filled with emotion, with indecision. “Don’t. Please, Y/n, don’t make me choose.”
You stepped closer to him, fury burning through you. “Fine, then I will. I don’t know what the hell you thought you could do when you got yourself into this, but you’re sure as hell not gonna keep dating me.”
Before Wilbur could speak, you were marching upstairs to your bedroom – the room you spent more time in than Wilbur did – texting Niki on your way to pack a bag. Your heart was crumbling to dust in your chest, and the emotion was finally replacing whatever temporary anger you felt, crashing through you like waves, putting out the fire within you.
Wilbur begged and pleaded as you packed your bag, but you didn’t listen. You just packed whatever was necessary, whatever you could think to bring for the night. You’d come back for the rest later.
15 minutes later, after a quiet Uber ride, you were sitting in Niki’s living room, crying and wondering what you were going to do next. Because you changed your life for Wilbur, and it was his reckless betrayal that tore it all down around you.
