Canto 6 was incomplete

Literally why are we there? Like, we just go to a manor that's in t-corp I guess. But why are we there? We've got another Heathcliff and he's cool but he just shows up pissed off for no reason and then we leave? Weird af. Nelly, Linton, and Josephine were cool and Hindley...existed. But it's a weirdly low number of supporting characters, and I guess that 1 really important and cool one could have made up for it but that didn't happen. Even the Mili song felt incomplete, like only 1/2 of it was there! Such an odd choice to make at the halfway mark for our 12 sinners. It just feels like a lot of stuff was missing and it's really sad because I was excited for Heathcliff's canto.

I really liked most the characters (not Hindley though that's a personal thing)#and I'm sure that the 'Carmen shows up like the PS5 in our brain' moment probably kicks ass if you know who she is and why we care #which I did not so I didn't really get that. still a cool moment but it didn't hit like it did for other people.#final fight? a slog and tough and tbh kinda unfun at times. I think that kinda adds to it though. we're stuck in a horrible loop.#the initial fight against alternate Heathcliff was still the height of the canto for me. that kicked SO MUCH ASS and it was a good twist

someone pointed out to me that Bachira is literally getting the female love interest in a shonen treatment -

he's obviously in love with the protagonist and has internalized this, so we, the audience, know this, but he's been shafted by the narrative and made irrelevant.

which sucks, but if he's truly the love interest in a shonen, then at least we know they'll end up together by the end with three kids once the damn MC realizes he's ready to settle down, so.

I'm with you. What pisses me off about the gwynriel and elucien fandom now is that some fans nowadays are flooting the tags with anti el/riel content.

I love theories and all, but I miss the days in which the tags were mostly filled with fluff and fun content, not shipwar related crap. Maybe it's because of the hofas release...? They should just use the anti el/riel tag and leave out the gwynriel and elucien tag so that stans like me can enjoy the fun content.

We complain about this all the time, it genuinely feels so stressful in the elucien tag but if I say that someone is gonna race to my askbox to tell me to get off my high horse AGAIN. You're not the only one feeling this way- I recently unfollowed the Elucien tag because even if you're not in the tag, it pops up on my dash and it's never fic or art like before, it's just vaguing people who don't know or care about the endless rebuttals

SUPREMELY frustrating that we found something actually really cool and intriguing and plot relevant in tonight's session but I'm still so constantly preoccupied with whether the DM is going to 100% kill us with sheer poor game design that I barely have enough brainspace left over to even enjoy it

#the first half of the session was a random-off-a-rolltable encounter that had nothing to do with anything and gave us literally nothing #and used up all our resources and took a REALLY long time because it was-- you guessed it! another deadly encounter for some reason!!#that's 100% of the encounters we've had so far!#and EXPLICITLY not related to what we were trying to investigate AND creatures that drop neither loot NOR BODIES #(two wil o the wisps and a water wierd)#we did a lot better in this encounter but it WAS deadly going off CR #and the point is now we've done just a short rest and THEN found the Plot Thing-- which our bard used up a bunch of resources to access #SO NOW IT'S LIKE. OKAY LOOK. I WANNA PLAY IN THIS SPACE BUT YOU KEEP TRYING TO KILL US WITH THINGS THAT AREN'T EVEN IMPORTANT #ARE YOU ABOUT TO WHOOPSIE-DOODLE US INTO A TPK ON ACCIDENT HERE???#like... it FEELS dangerous and A Bad Idea to engage with in a way that paradoxically SHOULD mean it's safer in a game like this #like-- okay if this was ACTUALLY as dangerous as it feels we wouldn't BE here on session six. does that make sense?#like when justin had us encounter a lich at level two in session three and I was immediately like OH okay he must have a plan here.#clearly some Scripted Plot is going to happen because there's no other reason he would put us up against a lich three sessions in. you know?#we started dying immediately and I was not afraid at all as a player because I trust justin wouldn't do that for no reason #or be so stupid to have that happen accidentally #THIS CAMPAIGN HOWEVER....
