Because I don't have money for Netflix just to watch Captain Laserhawk, I might as well do some lore building for my au.
The AU is called "Sun Setted" - The Meadow of Hopes is where Ashlen, Gnarr, etc have originated from and it serves as a parallel universe to the Glade of Dreams but it has notable differences.
• Hoodlums are the prominent enemies in this universe and they have been around for years. It was more of a "what if" situation where André managed to successfully reach the Heart but the Heart had been divided up into 5 Lum Shards and scattered across the land, each ending up into the 4 Kings possession while one of the Shards were in Ashlen's care currently.
• The Meadow was once originally just as vast as the Glades but majority of it fell in Hoodlum territory. What remains became a safe haven for the survivors: The Lastians. Mostly comprised of Teensies from the different tribes, most important Rue, who was an advisor for the Grand Minimus. She once served as the guardian for the Lum Shard.
• Ashlen's creation was natural rather than being manmade, the Lastians did not created Ashlen but they did raised her at a young age. She was considered as a miracle at some extent as she was made out of red lums, which had been scarce nowadays and this grants her healing ability. However, they were fearful that she can easily be corrupted so they would always advise her to not feel fear and always be brave. Rue didn't believe that it was not the good way but she did believed it was necessary so Ashlen wouldn't fall into the Hoodlums' influence.
• Ashlen was led to believe that she was abandoned by Rue and the Lastians but she was abandoned out of her safety. Rue gifted her the Lum Shard in her sleep and sent her away through a raft with the aid of others just before the Hoodlums can reach to her. Rue was never seen or heard of again after this and Ashlen had to learn to grow up alone... until she met Gnarr.
• Gnarr just tolerates this child following around but they grew closer when they were facing the invasion. The Pirates had a pact with the Hoodlums but it was all just a betrayal plan so the Hoodlums can gain their metal for their guns, armor, etc. Some ships were saved but most were renovated to become new HQ's or have crashed after the invasion - one which became Ashlen and Gnarr's forever home.
• Ashlen was more of an anti-hero, especially under the alias of The Crimson Thief, cause all she wants was just to survive and not risk herself turning. It was Gnarr, unironically, that tried to convince her to save the world but Ashlen already see it as a lost cause and again, it was too risky. The whole accidental encounter with André all those years ago was way too hard to forget. Fortunately, Rayman and Globox would accidentally find a way into their universe...
• Ashlen didn't like Rayman with his heroic ideologies and his carefree personality, she didn't understand yet Ray softened her up around the idea. He also helped her that she doesn't have to be strong all the time: "it's okay to be scared, you know". In return, she helps him with his combat skills and even show him some battle tricks. For Gnarr and Globox... well, Gnarr can act as a grumpy uncle to his kids.. which almost made him jump out of his skin by how many they were.
They go around to find the 4 Kings, collect the Lum Shards, and stop André for good yada yada... but this is still a work in progress and I promise you that I'll make it more interesting. I watched Raya and the Last Dragon for some inspiration (I know, it's mid but I still liked it... I like dragons). Also, André in Sun Setted is way different than original André in both appearance and personality. Pretty much, I Mr. Dark-ified André since Mr Dark likely doesn't exist here, I haven't decided yet.

Modern AU still have powers with a bit more stepdad! Charles b/c we always need more Charles & Peter interactions and also Genosha exists as you do.
Erik used to be Shaw's dragon/prodigy and going down a dark path ruled Genosha with an iron fist and is generally unpleasant and miserable Shaw has a 0% approval rating. However, Shaw as his sights on taking over the world as you do; also Genosha is a pariah on the world stage. Peter, comes into the world awakens something Erik thought he lost forever. But when Peter shows signs of Erik's metalbending powers and Shaw is just an asshole to both Erik and Peter; Erik tells Peter never to show this power to Shaw.
When Shaw makes a comment that he'd thought Peter would inherited Erik's powers; he might just experiment on him so his powers may be forceful awaken and he places the coin that he used on Erik on the table. So his son can have a future and not go through the same pain and trauma that he went through, Erik leads a revolution and overthrows Shaw.
Genosha flourishes and there is freedom and...for a while, Erik and Peter have peace and live happily. Until Shaw launches a countercoup. Erik knows Peter has to be sent away so Shaw can't use him against him; in a triple blind so either Erik, the agency nor the selected mutant to house Peter, which Charles Xavier; so Shaw can't find him.
Charles is a simple professor considered by the Psi Corp, I've been watching WAY too much B5 reviews, a below average telepath; not worth noting. Charles meets Peter at the airport. Charles has always wanted a child, but hasn't had luck in dating; so taking care even though temporally of a mutant child is a good step. During those first few weeks Peter sleeps with Charles as Peter cries in his room, so Peter needs the emotional support.
Charles helps Peter adjust with honoring his traditions, Shabbat, baking Challah; its more of Peter teaching Charles.
Peter wonders why he holds back because on Genosha under Erik's leadership and very much parroting Erik's talking points that he should freely use them to their fullest extent.
Charles finds himself falling more and more love with Peter; he wonders if he could ever meet Peter's father.
Back on Genosha, the fighting is winding down, but when taking Shaw HQ; Erik doesn't find Shaw or his inner circle; this leaves Erik very very worried...
Back with Charles and Peter is having a fun night out, retro arcades, restaurant and going to the arboretum...they get attacked by Shaw's forces trying to kidnap Peter to force Erik to the negotiating table. Which forces Charles show the full force of his psychic abilities. The Psi Corp is not pleased and Charles gets arrested.
Shaw has connection to the Psi Corp, so he knows where Peter is.
At Psi Corp, Charles is put into a room that blocks all psychic abilities are blocked, they still technically have their powers; you know those anechoic chamber, where there is no background noise only well its that but for telepaths; Charles is forced to stay there for 48 hours. That's not even part! Shaw comes in with his helmet and a very scared Peter and Charles is hit like a fright train with Peter's fear its so overwhelming. Peter is so frightened that he forgets that he has superspeed and doesn't run away.
Shaw places a coin down on the table and asks him to move it. Peter says he doesn't know how. No amused by this, Shaw places down the metal ball that Peter had been playing with his metalbending. Peter is half the age that Erik was.
Shaw finally notices Charles and thanks him for looking after his son; he's a neutral party and had no way of knowing, so he granting a small mercy so he will get to live. Now, he's going to enjoy some father-son bonding time with Peter because Erik took that away from him and hopefully when Erik joins them Peter will be successful in moving that coin. Charles stated looking Shaw dead in the eye, he doesn't want to go with you.
Shaw takes a step back and goes back to Peter, however he's standing a bit taller now so breaks Peter's leg and slaps on a customed mutant suppression collar and leaves.
Charles is released, but is pending trial. So he goes back to his apartment to find...Erik, who he believes is with Shaw and gets a frying pan as his weapon. Erik is pissed off something fierce and demands to know where is his son and lifts the frying pan up. Charles is like you're not with Shaw? Erik is like I hate Shaw with every fiber of my being. Then asks, where is my son? Charles says Shaw has him...and knows that he has metalbending abilities. Erik has a look on his face that the worse possible outcome has happened.
Charles hands Erik Peter's Mr. Dibbles, his favorite stuffed animal and the one that he always sleep with. Charles says that he wants to come along because he Peter's guardian and he wants to redeem himself to both Peter and Erik and to himself. Erik points out that he's a civilian and he doesn't know how to use his powers; they both know what happens to rouge telepaths and telepaths that hide their full status; Peter told him once that Genosha offers sanctuary to any mutant needing it.
The two go off on their adventure to find Peter and recuse him and fall in love with one another.

(This Au will follow the main events of the canon. In this AU, the tropes of fantasy and Omegaverse apply. The dynamics that can apply to people are Alpha, Luna, Beta, and Omega. The main ship is Erasermic x oc. I do not own the characters of My Hero Academia. Horikoshi Kōhei does. I also don’t own any of the fast-food franchises or any of the other references to other super hero movies or groups.  I own Bryant Saki. Here is her info Please do not steal.)

I woke up the next morning and changed into my suit before heading out, grabbing a quick breakfast as I made my way out the door and to the Admin HQ which I got the address to from my tablet.
I arrived at the building and walked inside. The place was very professional looking with everything in an off-white color that made all the other Admins stand out in their black suits and varying hair colors.  There was a lot of people bustling about doing tasks or running errands. A man about my age walked up to me and greeted himself as Hunter Wilkens. He seemed very serious and uptight, a no-nonsense type of guy. He asked me my name and I told him what it was before he turned on his heel and led me to the station where I would receive my Admin powers and be given a chance to customize my weapon that I had received the night before. I listened and followed him, keeping my head down as we ducked and weaved through the different departments in the place. Once we arrived at the Admin Powers Selection department, Hunter stood outside and waved for me to go inside which I didn’t get for a moment until he cleared his throat and looked at me. “We’re here. You may go inside.” He spoke. I nodded and went inside. In the room were two female Admins who greeted me warmly and invited me to come over. I walked over to them and they introduced themselves. “Can you explain to me the process? I’d like to know how this process works.” I asked and they nodded. “We’re going to scan you first to know what your quirk is then we will give you some options for your Admin Power.” “Oh, I can tell you what my quirk is already. I have something called ‘Water Dragon’.” I spoke. “Alright. We will add that to your file but we still need to scan you, sweetie.” One of the women said. I nodded and they directed me to a place on the floor where I would be scanned. I held still as I was scanned then I waited a moment before a screen appeared before me and gave me a list of all the attributes to my quirk. There were even a couple more to my quirk than I thought. Here’s the list:
Quirk: Water Dragon Abilities: Manipulate Water, healing with water, Telepathy, telekinesis, ability to create portals with water, create small inanimate objects with water, and can grow wings, horns, and a tail that can also retract back into the body.
Admin power options: Hyper water manipulation, sense souls living or dead and help guide them to their afterlife or use to locate a person that is missing, or weather manipulation.
I picked the ability to sense souls since I thought that it would be useful in a rescue situation. The admins picked the ability that I chose and told me to come back to where they were. I did so and they had two pills waiting for me that were green in color.
“These pills will grant you the ability you selected, but before you take the pills, you need to name your new ability.” One of them spoke. “I’ll name it Soul Sense. But some people might call it Sixth sense.” I spoke. They nodded and wrote down the new ability in my file before they handed me the pills and I took them both, knowing that the effects would be permanent. I then was told to go back out where Hunter would be waiting and he would take me to the next station.
When I left the room, Hunter stopped leaning against the wall and began to walk quickly down the hall, moving almost too fast for me to keep up. He led me to another room. “Inside this room is where you can customize your scythe if you wish.” He spoke and went back to scrolling through his tablet and typing some messages out. I nodded and went inside the room, curious as to what the customization options were.
When I entered, a tray on a robotic arm appeared and an automated voice sounded from somewhere in the room. “Please place your pen on the tray. It will be assessed and customization options will be presented.” The voice prompted me. I pulled the ballpoint pen from my pocket and set it on the tray. The arm pulled away and scanned my device. “Double-bladed scythe, standard edition. Customization options available. Would you like to customize your scythe, Miss Bryant?” The voice asked.
“Yes. I’d like to start with the handle.” I spoke and the computer system brought up a tablet like the one I was given yesterday that had different styles of handles to pick from. I picked a handle made from steel that had been wrapped in navy blue leather to give the wielder a better grip. I them moved onto the blades and picked a steel and iron alloy to make it stronger and more durable to attacks when in combat. I then had some small details added to the handle and leather wrapping where tree of life medallion with rainbow beads on the branches and a water droplet pendant was added to the leather grip and I etched some runes onto the edge of the blade near where the blades were attached to the handle. On one end, I wrote ‘ᛏᚺᛖ×ᚲᛟᛚᛚᛖᚲᛏᛟᚱ’ (The Collector) and on the other blade I wrote ‘ᛊᛟᚢᛚ× ᚺᚨᚱᚢᛖᛊᛏᛖᚱ’ (Soul Harvester), after that, I confirmed the changes and waited for the changes to be applied to the weapon.
After waiting a few moments, I was given my weapon back as the pen on the tray. The pen didn’t look different but I picked it up anyways and held the pen out from my body and clicked the top, watching the pen unfold into the beautiful scythe, I admired the weapon for a few moments before finding a button on the side just under where I rested my thumb on the grip and pressed it. Again, watching as the weapon folded back into a pen which worked at writing too. I smiled and thanked the machine for their help and left the room to find Hunter waiting for me. “All set? Good. It is recommended that new Admins go home and learn to control their new power and learn all about their list of characters that they have been assigned before their first day. Your first day is April 1st. Be at the U.A Campus at 7:00 am sharp, understood?” Hunter spoke. I nodded and thanked him. He then led me out of the building and I took the train home. When I got home, I told Taishiro everything about my experience at the Admin HQ over dinner. I then went to bed, excited for my first day on the job.

crow age part 2
[1]
summary: Tsukishima Kei is an apostate living in the Kocari Wilds with his long time friend. The army is gathering at Ostagar to drive off the recent darkspawn invasion and he’d planned to the hell stay out of it. Let’s just say things don’t go exactly as planned.
pairings: none yet
rated: T for violence and language and themes
They made it to the cottage without any further incident.
“Here it is,” Tsukishima said, “You’re looking for treaties, right? I kind of remember them. They were locked up in the cache with the horribly cast protection spell?”
“Horribly cast to you, maybe. You really are something, Mr. Apostate,” Suga grinned and replied.
Tsukishima eyed the leader of the group suspiciously, but couldn’t get a good read on him at all.
“Well, whatever. All the papers we took from your castle are in a light brown box inside. Wait out here, I’ll get it—“
“No, I’ll get it,” Yamaguchi said, “I want to talk to the Wardens more anyways. You go ahead and get some rest, Tsukki. You used a lot of magic today.”
Tsukishima opened his mouth to argue, but Yamaguchi suddenly sent him a look.
Right, Yamaguchi was still mad at him. Tsukishima resisted the urge to groan. He thought Yamaguchi would at least wait until the strangers were gone to start this power play tug-of-war, but apparently this was the way it was going to be.
Tsukishima relented though. Who retrieved the box hardly seemed worth starting something over.
“Well, okay then,” Tsukishima said, “I’ll be in the herb shack. We still have to finish healing you up.”
Yamaguchi looked like he was going to protest. Mad as he was, Yamaguchi would always be Yamaguchi. A busybody and a worrywart to the last, he probably actually wanted Tsukishima to get his rest. But that wound wouldn’t heal itself and the longer they left it as it was, the worse it was going to be to close up.
Tsukishima didn’t stick around for Yamaguchi to argue. He immediately turned tail and made his way to his herb shack.
~ ~ ~
They called the little shed behind their cottage an herb shack because that was what it was originally meant to be, but they stored a lot of Tsukishima’s potions and poultices in here too. Yamaguchi’s various woodcrafts also occupied a good portion of the tiny room, laying around here or there. Boxes full of candles were tucked away in the far right corner. Boxes full of who-even-knows-what were tucked in the far left corner. The shack was used to store food in the winter as well.
All-in-all Tsukishima supposed it was more of a multi-purpose storage shed.
His first reaction upon entering said multi-purpose shed was to wrinkle up his nose. It didn’t stink inside, per say. But, with all the junk they put in here, it certainly had a strong scent.
He had a list in his head of what he needed. He’d need something for the pain, of course. A relaxant would probably be good. He’d need herbs for a poultice as well, that wound needed to be cleaned and dressed. And, well, Tsukishima supposed he could get something for burns. Like hell he’d help the shrimp apply it, but he could jot the instructions down. They were relatively inexpensive herbs.
Tsukishima started to gather his ingredients and tie them together, his back to the door. He was so caught up in grabbing what he needed that he didn’t even notice someone come into the shed and step behind him.
“Suga said…” a small voice said right as Tsukishima was bending over to grab a small handful of herbs.
Tsukishima whirled around. He couldn’t believe it. There, a foot behind him, was Hinata. Talking to him. Again.
“Is taking a hint a distant concept for you?” Tsukishima asked, incredulous.
Seriously, how was this guy back already? Tsukishima could still see the blood seeping through the bandages helmet-guy had slapped on Hinata’s arm.
“Urk,” Hinata groaned, “Look, I don’t want to either, but Suga said I should apologize so…”
Tsukishima rolled his eyes and started to pick up the herbs he’d just bundled.
“Not necessary.”
“B-but…”
“That was your cue to not talk to me, shrimp,” Tsukishima said sharply.
He shoved past Hinata, herbs in hand, and headed for the door. This was beyond awkward and he wanted to be anywhere but here with anyone but this guy.
‘No!” Hinata yelled, lurching forward and grabbing onto the back of Tsukishima’s robe before Tsukishima could make it out.
“What the—“
“I need to apologize,” Hinata continued, “I-I misunderstood…”
“Yeah?” Tsukishima said sarcastically, “You think so?”
“I… lived in a village my entire life and never left until the captain recruited me. This is my first time out. I never even knew about elves except what I’d heard in stories. I thought they were all Dalish, see. You know, the ones that steal children and sacrifice them. I was really, really surprised when I learned how they were treated once I got to camp. Suga told me that all elves in Ferelden were treated like slaves and that only elf Gray Wardens and the Dalish were exceptions to the rule. So… I thought that Yamaguchi was…”
Tsukishima had turned back around while Hinata had been speaking and was now regarding the short little warrior with narrowed eyes.
“You people want something else, don’t you? What? Were the documents not all there? Well, those are all the ones I found so.”
“N-no! It’s not like that, you aren’t listening! I was trying to apologize!” Hinata cried.
“Funny,” Tsukishima said, “I heard a lot of words but no apology.”
Hinata fidgeted in place for a bit before trying again.
“I’m sorry.”
“For?”
“Ugh… For assuming Yamaguchi was your servant. I know now that he’s your friend and it was wrong of me to accuse you like that.”
Tsukishima couldn’t help himself. The tiny Warden’s eyes were downcast and his face was all red—he looked too pathetic to not tease.
“Accuse me like what?” Tsukishima smirked, “Be specific, shrimp.”
“Okay, now I know you’re just messing with me!” Hinata cried, finally raising his head. Tsukishima snorted at how flustered he was getting.
“Whatever,” Tsukishima said, “You should be apologizing to Yamaguchi, if anything. I don’t need it.”
“I already apologized to Yamaguchi. He said the same thing…”
Huh, so Yamaguchi had forgiven the shrimp, had he? Of course he had. He probably had offered his own apology too.
“Ahem,” Hinata coughed, purposely pulling Tsukishima from his thoughts this time.
Hinata stood in front of him with his hand on his hips. He looked impatient, as if waiting for something.
“Hope you’re not expecting an apology on my end,” Tsukishima said, “I regret nothing,”
Immediately Hinata started to bluster around, going off about how Tsukishima really was a jerk after all and he couldn’t believe he bothered and how he really didn’t want to apologize either so there.
Tsukishima’s response was to lob one of the herb packages he’d been holding at Hinata.
“Carry those,” Tsukshima ordered and yanked his robe free. He started to make his way back to the cottage, not even bothering to make sure Hinata was doing what he said. If he didn’t, it was his loss anyways.
“Why should I? What if I don’t want to?” Hinata challenged, jogging to keep up with Tsukishima’s much larger stride.
Tsukishima noticed that the herb bundle was safely in his hands though.
~ ~ ~
“There, I carried them back!” Hinata said once they were both inside. He looked oddly proud of himself for doing something so innocuous.
“Wow, amazing. A true hero of our times,” Tsukishima replied, setting his own bundles down onto the kitchen counter.
Hinata stuck his tongue out at Tsukishima and started to move his bundle onto the counter too when Tsukishima stopped him.
“Put those on the kitchen table,” Tsukishima told him, “They’re for something different.”
“You know that I’m only letting you order me around because I still feel bad, right?”
“Sure.”
Hinata stuck his tongue out again but obediently set the herbs onto the table.
It was then that Yamaguchi chose to re-enter.
“Tsukki, I need to talk to—Oh! Hinata, you’re inside?” Yamaguchi asked.
“Yeah, I came in with Tsukishima,” Hinata told him.
“Tsukki let you in?” Yamaguchi asked, surprised.
“Yeah, why?”
“No, nothing. It’s just that Tsukki usually doesn’t trust anyone enough to let them wander around the house…”
Tsukishima pointedly ignored Hinata’s eyes on him and continued to sort the herbs on the counter.
“Did they find their treaties?” Tsukishima directed his question at Yamaguchi.
“Yep, they were all in there,” Yamaguchi replied, “That’s some memory you’ve got, Tsukki. They’re just getting some water and fish at the river for the return trip.”
Good, then they could leave right after Tsukishima was done here.
He got to work, starting the fire and setting the teapot over it. The painkiller was best as a tea. It wasn’t terribly strong but it’d relax Yamaguchi a bit which would make the magic part a little easier—less resistance from the muscle tissue and all that. Tsukishima could feel Hinata watching him as he worked, but ignored it.
“Yamaguchi, you should lay down. I’m going to make the painkiller right now. We’ll start once I’m done,” Tsukishima said.
“I’m fine, Tsukki. I’ll lay down once we start,” Yamaguchi replied.
“Tsk.”
Yamaguchi looked like he wanted to laugh when the herbs sticking out of Hinata’s bundle caught his eye.
“Oh? Those herbs…” he said, making his way to the table.
“What? What about them?” Hinata asked, finally tearing his eyes away from what Tsukishima was doing.
“Hm…”
“Jerk-face made me carry them all the way to the cottage, Yamaguchi!” Hinata whined, “At least tell me what they are!”
Tsukishima wondered when the two of them became such good friends. True, Yamaguchi was personable, but still. They’d been at each other’s necks last time Tsukishima checked.
Well, not like he was one to talk. Yamaguchi was right, it was rare for him to let someone in the house just like that. It was his personal space where he kept all his personal effects. The thought occurred to him that he should kick Hinata out and make him wait outside, but it really wasn’t worth the effort it’d take. The guy was too ridiculously naïve to be dangerous anyways. Besides, Tsukishima had already invited him in so he could stay… so long as he didn’t break anything important.
“They’re used for burn wounds. Crushed up and mixed they make a poultice that cleans open wounds and relieves pain,” Yamaguchi answered Hinata’s question, picking some of the leaves up and examining them. His eyes narrowed in amusement and he shot his friend another look, kinder this time.
“You softy,” Yamaguchi accused Tsukishima silently with his eyes.
Tsukishima pointedly ignored him and continued working.
Hinata wrinkled up his face in confusion.
“Burn wounds? Yamaguchi didn’t get burned! Hey, you made me drag all these in here for nothing, didn’t you?”
Tsukishima felt the sudden and unyielding urge to smash his face into a wall.
“They’re not for Yamaguchi, dumbass.”
“What? Then who are they for? Did someone else get hurt?”
Tsukishima watched Hinata struggle for about three seconds before he couldn’t take it anymore.
“Oh Maker, don’t use up all your brain cells. I’ll save you the trouble: they’re for you.”
Hinata’s eyes went wide and he tilted his head.
“For me?”
Hinata, unbelievably, still had to think it over for a few seconds before it all clicked in his tiny little insect brain.
“… For me! My burn! You’re going to heal my arm!” he exclaimed.
“No, I just thought I would just smear it on your face for a laugh or two. Yes, they’re for your arm. Obviously. You’re going to die of infection before you even make it out of the Wilds if we don’t treat it. Not to mention that bruise on your face and whatever ribs Yamaguchi definitely broke.” Tsukishima replied.
Yamaguchi made an embarrassed sound
“I really am sorry about that, Hinata.”
“It’s okay,” Hinata yelled excitedly, “I guess I kind of deserved it. And it’s not like this is my first time breaking a few ribs. And I’ve been hit in the face waaaay worse than this just wrestling with friends back at home. Tsukishima, you really don’t have much of a punch.”
“Well, then,” Tsukishima deadpanned, “I guess we can just leave off on healing you. You sound like you’re in perfect health.”
Amazingly, he’d half-meant that. Hinata was incredibly mobile and energetic a guy with a burned up arm and at least two or three damaged ribs. If Tsukishima didn’t know better, he’d have thought he was in perfect health.
“What?! No! They hurt, I’m hurt! I really am! You’re going to heal me, right? You’re going to do it with your magic-thingy? You are, right? Man, magic is soooooo cool! You’re so lucky you can do it. Please do some!”
Tsukishima stopped what he was doing and turned to stare incredulously at Hinata. Cool? Lucky?!
Was this guy actually serious?
“You’ll do magic, right Tsukishima?”
“What rock did you crawl out from under?” Tsukishima asked, not able to stop himself. One look at Yamaguchi though and Tsukishima could tell that he was wondering the same thing. Seriously, where did the Wardens find this guy?
Hinata’s face screwed up in anger.
“What’s up with you? Are you really not gonna heal me anymore?”
Tsukishima scoffed and waved Hinata off. It didn’t really concern him which boondock, backwater town Hinata spawned from. He’d be out of his hair soon enough anyways.
“Relax, shrimp. I didn’t waste my time digging out those herbs for nothing. I’ll take care of your injuries before you finally buzz off.”
And just like that, Hinata’s smile, intense and blinding, was back so fast Tsukishima almost got whiplash.
“Thank you!” Hinata yelled, jumping up and down.
“Whatever. It’s only because if you die in this area, I’ll have to clean up your corpse before it starts to attract darkspawn. And your little Gray Warden friends might come after me.”
“Thank you anyways!”
“Don’t get all overexcited, Yamaguchi’s still going first so you’ll have to wait your turn.”
“OOOHHHH! Can I watch?!”
“Stop yelling…”
Yamaguchi watched Tsukishima and Hinata’s exchange bemusedly. He sent a soft, knowing smile Tsukishima’s way which Tsukishima once again pretended not to see, turning his attention back to his work.
“Tsukki, I’m going to let the others in in that case. Kageyama and Tanaka are still outside, they didn’t go to the river. We can’t ask them to wait out there forever.”
Tsukishima winced at the thought. Hinata being inside couldn’t be helped since he needed to be healed, but the others…
“Yeah, ok,” he relented before adding, “But the Templar stays outside.”
That was non-negotiable. Tsukishima didn’t care one bit if the man was a Gray Warden now, he was a Templar.
Yamaguchi nodded in understanding.
“I wasn’t planning on letting Kageyama in anyways, but I’ll get him some water at least.”
With that, Yamaguchi grabbed a water-skin hanging on the wall and went back outside to tell the other Wardens to come in. Before he left, he shot Tsukishima yet another look. This one wasn’t angry or amused, it was… hard. Determined. And sad? Tsukishima didn’t know what to make of it, but before he could even consider asking, Yamaguchi was already out the door.
Well, Tsukishima was pretty sure Yamaguchi wasn’t mad anymore so at least that was something.
“Hey, can I ask a question?” Hinata asked after he finally stopped bouncing around.
“No.”
“Why won’t you let Kageyama in? He’s a jerk, I would know, but he’s never done anything to you.”
“Ugh,” Tsukishima groaned. He really didn’t want to talk about it.
“Fine, you can have one question, but not that one. I won’t be responsible for educating a moron. If you don’t already know, you will soon enough. Next.”
Hinata frowned but seemed to sense that he was pushing his luck again and decided to move on.
Well, well, he knew how to take a hint after all.
“Why do we need the herbs? Why can’t you just heal it with magic?” Hinata asked after some contemplation.
Tsukishima clicked his tongue and decided to kindly not point out that that was two questions. Typical warrior, thinking magic was some miracle from the Maker and could do anything just like that.
“Magic isn’t some cure-all, end-all solution. The ribs and the bruise will be easy enough and we can get them done once I finish making this tea. It’s that burn that’ll be the problem, that’s going to get infected if we don’t do something. Getting all the infection out with magic takes energy and I might miss something. Cleaning and dressing the wound are more surefire ways of getting things done. You can’t do that in the middle of battle for obvious reasons, but we’re not in the middle of battle which means we have time to do it this way.”
Tsukishima stopped talking to scoop out two cups of the herbal tea—one for Yamaguchi and one for the annoying one—and set them aside to cool before continuing.
“Besides, healing hurts you know? I’m cleaning out a wound and stitching up the damage in a fraction of the time it’s supposed to take--that stings like a bitch. If I clean out the infection first, it’ll take some of the edge off the pain.”
Tsukishima smirked before continuing.
“Maybe then you won’t cry like a baby when I heal it.”
“Hey!”
~ ~ ~
Hinata whined all the way through the healing process. Shocker.
(Tsukishima couldn’t help but wonder when he even ended up agreeing to heal the burn. Wasn’t he supposed to just hand them the herbs and send them on their way?)
~ ~ ~
“That really hurt, Jerkshima.”
“Noted. Now hurry up and pack up. Your friends are already waiting for you outside.”
“Oh yeah! We better hurry, we have to make it back in time for the battle too.”
Tsukishima processed that.
“The battle?” he asked, “Is that tonight?”
Of course he’d known that an army was gathering at Ostagar to fight off the darkspawn, but a battle already? They didn’t have anywhere near enough troops yet, did they? Not that Tsukishima knew much about wartime tactics. Still, he was pretty sure that wasn’t enough soldiers to march against anything, let alone a hoard.
“Yep! My first one!” Hinata replied, excited, “We’re going to have the Joining tonight too. We’ll be killing two birds with one stone!”
“Heh, what an apt line for it,” Tsukishima muttered.
“Huh?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Tsukishima bit his lip and watched Hinata check his pack. It was just the two of them in the house. Yamaguchi was outside, chatting up the other Wardens. He felt a heavy feeling settle in his stomach as he watched Hinata double check the bag’s contents. This guy didn’t know the first thing about the Wardens, did he? And it was highly unlikely he’d ever been in a war either, not with his attitude.
“Hey, shrimp,” Tsukishima called out to Hinata, surprising himself. He hadn’t really planned out what to say. Still, watching someone this unsuspecting march off unwittingly to his death without saying anything seemed too cold even for him. Just listening to Hinata talk about the Joining in such an upbeat way had left a bad taste in Tsukishima’s mouth.
“Yeah?”
“Think…think carefully about the Joining. I can’t tell you what it is because I’m pretty sure Gray Wardens do kill people for that, but I’ll clue you in: it’s nothing good. In fact, it’s practically a death sentence. It’s too late to back out once it starts, but you could still leave now if you really tried.”
Hinata looked at him, confused.
“Why would I back out?”
And there it was again. That creepy, unblinking look was on Hinata’s face again.
“This is everything I’ve always wanted. I don’t care what test they give me, I’m ready for it.”
Hinata’s stared straight into Tsukishima’s eyes and Tsukishima found that he couldn’t hold the gaze. He looked away and sighed. Well, he’d tried.
“Go on then, they’re all waiting.”
The look slid off of Hinata’s face just like that. He gasped, threw the pack over his shoulder, and hopped over to the door, but then paused.
“Yamaguchi gave me his name, but I never got your first name. You only gave us a family name, right? Unless Tsukishima is your first name…”
Tsukishima, to his own shock, almost gave it to him on instinct. Names held power, but he almost trusted Hinata with his, stopping himself only at the last minute.
“Idiot,” Tsukishima said instead, “As if I’m giving my name to some weirdo who attacked me twice.”
As if I’m going to do something useless like introduce myself to a dead man.
Hinata didn’t look too bothered by his response, only rolling his eyes before retorting.
“Well my first name is Shouyou! Shouyou Hinata And I’m going to be the greatest hero there ever was. I’ll come back after the battle and get your name then, okay?”
And with that, he was gone.
“Come back after the battle?” Tsukishima muttered, “Sure you will.”
There was no doubt in Tsukishima’s mind that that was the last he’d ever see of Hinata Shouyou.

Talk to me about an AU where Rick’s parents never died and he discovers the hourglass hidden in his house and starts using it behind Rex’s back. How would Rick be different? How would he be the same? And how would it affect the dynamics of the Starsquad?
This one is super interesting!
I think that the biggest difference would be that Rick wouldn't have spent his childhood in Blue Valley! I think that his parents only ended up in BV because they needed to briefly drop Rick off with a relative while they dealt with lingering ISA stuff. And of course, since his father knew all about the ISA tunnels and whatnot, Hourman I probably would have tried to reassemble a new team of heroes to defeat the ISA and returned to pick up his son before heading off to live somewhere else.
I think that even though Hourman I was on board with killing Eclipso, he wouldn't want to kill any of the ISA, so when the ISA eventually all broke out of jail, they probably would return to their base of operations (or some other low-populated town). For the sake of including the other current JSA members, we'll have them return to BV to reunite with their teenage children. Knowing that something is up, the Tylers would return to BV at the same Pat brought his family there, making Rick and Courtney The New Kids (registered trademark) who end up at the Singles table all the same.
I also think that since the ISA kids wouldn't have their villainous parents in their lives who would suddenly return, the course of their lives would be very different. Brainwave would have been sent to prison before he could kill Merry, so Henry would have a positive role model in his life. Cameron would be raised by his mother until her death, and with Jordan in prison, Cameron's grandparents would absolutely have started grooming him to be Icicle Jr. in his absence. Artemis would be in foster care from a young age, so her personality could be completely different (she'd probably still be into sports and fitness but to a much lesser degree). With the ISA being dissolved for the time being, I don't even know if Dragon King would have stayed in Blue Valley, and he certainly wouldn't have an alliance with the ISA set up from the time they got out of prison, so I think Cindy would actually be out of the loop in terms of who was an ISA legacy, but would retain her canon personality. Isaac and Joey would 100% be exactly the same though.
Prior to the finding of the Hourglass, I think that Rick would still have a bit of a rough exterior, but I don't think he would be quite as angry all the time. I think Rick would have better skills with people, and that his father would low-key be training him in basic fighting skills and in the field of chemistry but not making it obvious as to why.
When Rick finds the Hourglass, it's around the same time that Courtney finds the Staff, and the two find each other outside at the same time. In this universe, instead of the Staff finding and attacking Henry at the drive-in theater, it would find Cameron doing something nefarious (I have no idea what though), and the two inexperienced superheroes would have to fend off an actually decently respectable would-be villain.
Rick would definitely confront his parents while Courtney confronted Pat, but instead of a whole arc where Court and Rick have to figure out who makes up the ISA, because they've already been dealt with (having publicly been sent to prison), Rex and Pat are able to give them a who's who (after they eventually get used to the idea of their kids crimefighting, of course). Knowing that his son was threatened by some nex gen JSA members, Icicle probably calls the ISA to action, calling forth Brainwave to train Henry to deduce his classmates' identities. Meanwhile, Court and Rick sneak out to the old JSA HQ in Civic City and steal JSA gear.
At this point, Henry would still be dating Yolanda (who never sat at the singles table), so Rick and Court first target Beth, who still would be Dr. Midnite. While Rick would want to stay far away from Henry, and by proxy, Yolanda, Court would think it a good idea to woo them over to their side, knowing that Henry is a good guy who probably would be an issue should he go bad, so she offers the Wildcat suit up to Class President(!!!) Yolanda. Yolanda tells Henry about the JSA and ISA, and Henry works as a double-agent to the ISA while he develops his powers, allowing his father (who still has Merry and thus is less cruel) to help train him.
Meanwhile, Dragon King is eventually partnered with the ISA, so Cindy and Cameron together are put in charge of creating their own Injustice Unlimited (Cameron still does not like Cindy due to what she said about her mother in the fourth grade, but puts it aside for the purpose of the team). The two easily manage to recruit Isaac, who can actually be trained in the violin by his mother, but fail at nabbing Artemis and Joey for the time being. Henry's double-agent status runs thin as now he is meant to join this team. However, realizing that Artemis and Joey are hesitant to join IU, he encourages the JSA to recruit them instead (which manages to work).
Since there isn't any mystery as to who is or is not a villain in this town, the climax of the JSA versus ISA fight happens much faster. Unlike the canon universe, Brainwave is unwilling to kill his son, as are the Wizard, Sportsmaster, and Tigress (obviously). An ISA implosion happens, as well, with Tigress still killing Fiddler(s?), Icicle killing Wizard (just much later), and Brainwave actually killing Icicle. As a result, IU also splinters.
It's such a big deviance from canon that I'm not even sure what would happen after that, but the JSA would probably be eventually open to hosting former IU kids (key word being eventually), the Eclipso incident would be much less likely to occur, and Wendi and Rex would absolutely adore Beth and encourage Rick to date her.

fanfic writer tag game
Tagged by @mathclasswarfare. Thanks! :D
What’s your all-time favorite ship? I don’t have an all-time favourite ship that reigns over every fandom, but I do have an OTP within each of my fandoms. My top OTPs from each of my most-written fandoms are Prompto x Noctis (FFXV), Nepeta x Karkat (Homestuck), Nezumi x Shion (No. 6), and Ciara Tabris (female city elf archer) x Zevran Arainai (Dragon Age: Origins). How many works do you have on AO3? 142, although not all of those are fic. A few are translations or collabs.
What’s your total AO3 word count? 839,723 words. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 1. You Know The Fic - A One Punch Man Saigenos fic which was a remix of a smut fic by Sandywolf. It somehow became insanely popular, with 1,609 kudos.
Saitama rescues a robot who turns out to be a pirated sex-robot. Then it falls in love with him. This is not what he needed in his life. (Or maybe it was.) Disclaimer: This is not your average smut fic. Come for the smut, get hooked by the comedy, stay for the feels. Trust me.
2. Her Own Beloved - A fun Miraculous Ladybug Adriette/Ladynoir reveal fic. Like YKTF, this one definitely got this popular because the fandom is freaking huge. It has 476 kudos, a big step down from YKTF. People did not stay with me after reading that fic.
Marinette has finally achieved her dream of moving in with her boyfriend Adrien Agreste. But something seems fishy in their relationship, and Marinette fears that Adrien could be preparing to break up with her. As usual, her problems have an unconventional solution.
3. Everything To Me - An FFXV Promptis soulmate AU, written for the Book Club Discord’s spring exchange in 2020. I think it got so popular because Mysteriousbean5 illustrated it as a gift for a different exchange. And the premise is a little more basic than some of my other FFXV works, so it has more universal appeal.
“So, I think we’re soulmates,” Noctis said.
4. Apartment-Warming - A One Punch Man Saigenos uh... adult fic. Its popularity is definitely due to riding on the coat-tails of You Know The Fic.
Saitama finally moves out of the Hero Association HQ and goes back to Z-City with Genos. They do some housewarming.
5. Fateswap - My No. 6 magnum opus. Of all the ones on this list, I think this one most deserves to be here.
Nezumi grows up in his village... sort of... while Shion is captured and taken to the Correctional Facility at a young age. How will events play out with the roles reversed? And what will happen to the third option?
Do you reply to comments, why or why not? I aspire to, but I prioritise longer/more meaningful comments, or ones with questions in them. It’s not that I don’t appreciate short comments - I do! I just don’t have much to say back aside from a standard, “Thanks for the comment; glad you enjoyed the fic” and I don’t like being so repetitive.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? What Prompto Gave - In a motel room during the road trip one night, Noctis comes out as gay to Prompto. The problem: the terms of Noctis's marriage contract with Luna prevent him from taking any lovers. Despite believing himself to have no romantic feelings for Noctis, Prompto offers him the chance to experience intimacy with a man - himself.
The ending implies this will be the only time Noctis gets to honour his real sexuality, and also that Prompto might have feelings for Noctis neither of them will ever get to explore. I really wanted to wring out some reader tears with this one, which is very unusual for me.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? It’s impossible to pick just one. Almost all of my fics have happy endings, and I also write a lot of fix-its. Do you write crossovers? Not really. I will write fics that are inspired by another story, but not a straight up “characters from X world are put into Y world” story.
Have you ever received hate on a fic? No, although I have received some tiresome comments, such as rude grammar commentary. I welcome all comments, but those are the ones that made me roll my eyes.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Unfortunately, yes, lol. It’s always pretty vanilla. I find writing it boring, except as a manifestation of deep intimacy and love. So I guess the kind is “with feelings”.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes. There was a website called ebooks-tree that once upon a time stole some of my Homestuck and No. 6 fics and was selling them to people, even though you can read them for free on AO3 =_=
Tumblr media
As you can see, here are my fics Alliances and Ace Crackshot Harleys (now Feathers & Firearms) on their blasted webbed site. Fortunately this site is gone forever now.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes. I translated Eve’s Secret, one of my own No. 6 fics, to French, and my fic The Faithful Servant was translated to French in a trade with @riotbrrrd.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes. One of the No. 6 Discord’s Halloween events in 2018 was a round robin fic which ended up being called A Dark And Stormy Anniversary. I wrote 1/6 of it. I also have co-author credit on cry havok and kick up your heels, a fic that was written by @ninemoons42, but planned and brainstormed by me as well.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? Luckily for you all, all of my published WIPs will one day be finished. Forever unfinished ones will never see the light of day. Of those, the one which I think had the most literary potential is a Kaworu x Shinji AU where Kaworu is a normal human boy with a terminal illness, who comes into Shinji’s life for the length of one summer. That could’ve been a real tear-jerker.
What are your writing strengths? I’m good at writing description, and also at designing and world-building AUs. I like to think I’m good at writing fix-its and romance as well.
What are your writing weaknesses? Action/adventure type stuff. I find writing fight scenes boring. I also don’t know how other people do this, but a lot of my characterisation is done on instinct alone, which makes writing distinctive voices for them difficult sometimes. I also don’t like writing long conversations very much.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Well... I’ve done it before. I wrote all of France’s dialogue for my Hetalia France x England fic Harmony And Contrast in French. I would be happy to read more bilingual French & English fics. However, I think doing this alienates monolingual readers, so providing an all-one-language version is essential, which is what I did with Harmony & Contrast. There’s an all-English version bundled on the same posting as the English & French version.
What was the first fandom you wrote for? Homestuck, for which I have 25 works. It was my most prolific fandom until I got into FFXV, which has 38 works.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? Whichever fic I’ve written most recently tends to be my favourite. If I had to absolutely pick one, though, it would probably be Perchance To Wake. The version on AO3 is a wip, but I have the whole thing written already. It’s very personal to me, being about Noctis and Prompto’s journey with their respective chronic illnesses (although set on a backdrop of action, friendship, and romance!). I think it’s really well constructed, if I do say so myself.
I tag @riotbrrrd, @ninemoons42, @revasnaslan, @yuneyn.
No pressure to do the meme, just if you feel like it :)

Dragons of Vytal World Building note 3
Hopefully this will be the last world building notes post for a while so I can actually write something concrete for the au. Finally have a name for the thing!
Part Two located here
The Branwen-Rose-Xiao Long Family
Taiyang Xiao Long, charmed the pants off of his team, father of Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long. Contester for Dadliest Catch(tm) and Pungeon Master(tm). Teacher at Signal Preporatory Academy.
Raven Branwen-Xiao Long, got her pants charmed off by Tai, mother of Yang. Left the family for a little while due to untreated postpartum depression, returned in the nick of time to save Yang and Ruby from a wandering Grimm. Low key huntress, takes no shit from anyone. Currently MIA.
Summer Rose-Xiao Long, got her pants charmed off by Tai, mother of Ruby. Keeper of the Silver Eyes(tm) and Winner of the Super Mom(TM) award, slayer of Grimm and baker of cookies. Went on a dangerous solo mission and almost died, spends her time being a stay at home mom and occasionally teaching at Signal.
Qrow Branwen, got his pants charmed off by Tai, uncle of Ruby and Yang. Winner of the coveted Coolest Dude(tm) and Best Uncle(tm) awards, hobbies include turning into a bird and charming the pants off any gay and bisexual man he can get his hands on. Conquests include Specialist Clover Ebi and General James Ironwood. His semblance is the same as Raven's. No bad luck this time around, no sir. Had too much to drink once, never again.
Ruby Rose-Xiao Long, daughter of Summer and Tai. Keeper of the Silver Eyes(tm) and winner of the Cookie Nomster(tm) award. Dead set on becoming a huntress, despite all the terrible stories told by the adults in her family. Age 15 years and 10 months when she stops that famous criminal from robbing a random dust shop. Geekiest weapons nerd that ever geeked over a weapon. Has yet to suffer the gay mojo, but she will. Oh, yes, she will. Trans.
Yang Branwen-Xiao Long, daughter of Raven and Tai, punchiest blonde this side of the galaxy and junior Pungeon Master(tm). Hobbies include punching things, flirting with both guys and gals (succeeding too) hanging out at dive bars and riding a mean motorcycle. Has a masters degree in history. Age 16.
The von Schnee Family
Nicholas von Schnee, founder of the family line, got ennobled for saving the Kaiser once. Frame for the Arma Gigas. Long since dead and buried.
Wilhelm von Schnee, father of Willow von Schnee, grandfather of Winter, Weiss and Whitley. Founder of the Schnee Dust Company, think Scrooge McDuck, lived long enough to see the birth of all his grandchildren.
Edelweiss von Schnee, wife of Wilhelm and mother of Willow von Schnee, grandmother of Winter, Weiss and Whitley. Died in child birth.
Willow von Schnee, wife of Doctor Jacques von Schnee, mother of Winter, Weiss and Whitley von Schnee. Retired huntress, member of the Convention of Twelve. Spends most of her time at home, making sure her children are well cared for.
Doctor Jacques von Schnee, doctor of robotics, business and finance. Brother of Doctor Arthur Watts. Hired by Wilhelm to replace the workforce in the dust mines and refineries with robots. Hated by the working class for this feat. Husband of Willow von Schnee, father of Winter, Weiss and Whitley. Member of the Convention of Twelve, spends most of his time at the company hq. Still makes sure to spend time with his family.
Winter von Schnee, eldest child, has no desire to inherit and so passed the mantle of heiress off to Weiss. Combat Instructor at Atlas Academy and one of the primary advisors for the headmaster. Has a harsh but sisterly love towards her siblings because she wants them to be safe. Wants something more out of life, but does not know what. Age 22.
Wiess von Schnee, middle child and heiress to the family fortune and the SDC. Famous around the world for her singing career, currently set to attend Beacon Academy to become a huntress. Very, very, very much a lesbian. Currently dating Penny Polendina, a fact she has somehow managed to keep hidden from the rest of the world. Has a masters degree in finance and business. Age 17 and change.
Whitley von Schnee, youngest and softest child. Very loved by his family, famous around the world for his music, specifically his piano pieces. Very fond of crepes, and heaven help you if you take them from him. Currently working on his doctorate. Age 14 and change.
Klein Sieben, head of household staff at the Schnee manor. Literally studied up his family fortune, but has no actual results (a bunch of Almost Doctorates are useless to an employer) from this. Had to turn to his old friend Willow to get himself a job. Much loved by the family and the rest of the staff.
The Belladonna Family
Shere Belladonna, the Red Maws operative who assassinated the Heir Presumptive of the Atlo-Mantelian Empire, thus sparking the Great War. Died unmourned in prison due to the horrific deaths in the war he caused. Very much a black mark in the family line.
Warchief Ghira Belladonna, father of Blake, ruler of Zion. A good man, spent his youth fighting for Faunus Rights. With the direction the White Fang has taken in recent years he's currently working on damage control.
Kali Belladonna, mother of Blake, like Ghira she spent her youth fighting for Faunus Rights, but her pregnancy put a firm stop to that. Spends her time advising the Fang on less violent methods, with mixed results, and teaching at Zion Preporatory Academy.
Blake Belladonna, daughter of Ghira and Kali, fighting for Faunus Rights is in her blood. Spent her youth fantasizing about being the Next Big Thing(tm) in the Good Fight(tm). Almost went off gallivanting with Adam Taurus, but a firm taking in hand by her parents scrapped that plan. Blake is very bitter about this fact. Intends to attend Beacon, just to get away from her parents whom she sees as too controlling. Age 16. She/Her nonbinary.
The Polendina Family
Doctor Pietro Polendina, father of Penny Polendina, and doctor of robotics and applied systems engineering. Due to an accident in his youth he's unable to father children. The same accident also left him paraplegic. Don't let the chair fool you, he's completely capable of laying the smackdown on anyone who threatens or bullies his daughter. Member of the Convention of Twelve, spends most of his time with Penny or building new military hardware for the Atlo-Mantelian government.
Penny Polendina, daughter of Pietro. Very cute, very curious and very gay, her free time is spent mostly with either her father or with Weiss. The first artifical human, her original purpose was to be the first of several, but the costs involved has left her as an only child. Sees Winter and Whitley as her siblings, much to their delight. Age 16 and change.

Winx Club Childhood Headcanons: Bloom
While I am still working on my future AU, I decided to spice up the Winx childhoods with some tidbits. First up: Bloom
Tumblr media
💫Before Daphne sent Bloom to Earth, she has put two spells on her. The first one was an easy one, it allowed people who might find her know her true name. Daphne believed that one day she might be able to return to her home planet so this spell would help her when she finds inscriptions of her name.
The second one was much more difficult to do. It was a somewhat sentient conglomeration of magic that would protect Bloom pretth much till she dies or she acrivates her Winx. At this point in time, it protected her three times. The first one was when Mike found her. The second one was when she was being annoyed by a kid in preschool. It made Bloom look like a dragon for a second and scared the kid off. The third one was during the Knut fight in the first episode.
💫She was four months old when she was sent to Earth, which means she could at least experience a bit of Domino life during that time.
💫One significant thing were Marions stories. If the parent has enough magical experience, they can mentally project the story into the kid's brain and help them with memorisation. That's why Bloom even got the fascination with fairies as Marion described the Domino fairies in a lot of detail.
💫Bloom didn't live with her adoptive parents right away. At first she was sent to a child center for lost or abandoned kids bc they were trying to find her parents. Another thing was that Mike and Vanessa didn't think they would do a good job raising a child. They were married for two years at that point and Vanessa just opened up her flower shop a few weeks prior to finding Bloom. They were still looking out for her as they visited her every weekend. After a year and a half, they finally decided to adopt her as the search was unsuccesful.
💫She got interestes in art after she won in a school art competition at the age of 10. Vanessa encouraged her to submit her highly detailed drawing of a castle.
💫Sports were one of the things the family did regularly. From biking to swimming, they were very active whenever they could. This made Bloom the second most athletic Winx after Aisha.
💫Bloom and Mitzi used to be BFFs. Mitzi transfered to Blooms school and the classmates mocked her as she was "just a spoiled rich girl" which was not true at the time. Bloom befriended her as both weren't that liked by the other kids for being different (Bloom was quite a wild kid back then). But after starting middle school, Mitzi found other friends (which were also the popular kids) while they driftee more apart. Bloom still tried to be her friend, but Mitzi rarely paid attention to her. One rare occasion was when she broke up with Andy when they were both 15. After founding the Winx Club, she realized what true friend were really and wanted to "get revenge" on Mitzi in the Hallowinx episode.

Yudias Buddyfight AU Bio!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Yudias Velgear
Age: 16
Eye Color: Green with a golden touch.
Species: Monster (Alien/Star Dragon Knight)
Worlds: Hero World/Star Dragon World (DDD Onward).
Allied With On Earth: Buddy Police.
Core Gadget: Sword with a red Neo deck case crystal, modeled after his sword from his homeland.
Short Bio:
Yudias Velgear is a citizen of the parallel world Hero World, specifically from the Velgear Star Cluster far off into Hero World’s many galaxies and solar systems. Like in much of Hero World, there is much conflict between heroes and villains in order to maintain order. This conflict has reached Yudias’ own home system, where participated on the front lines of battle under Commanded Zwijo in order to defend his home.
However, the war got too vast and forced him and 8.8 million of his countrymen to retreat inside a spaceship, and along their journey they learned of the other parallels worlds and the game Buddyfight that connected them in peace. After hearing this, Yudias is determined to go to Earth, the world where Buddyfight as a game began, to learn all about it to possibly take what he’s learned back to his home to stop the needless fighting. And after finding Earth’s coordinates through some Buddyfight cards he received from a mysterious hero named ‘Captain Answer’, he travels there with his ship that crash lands in a field on the outskirts of Cho-Tokyo.
Soon, he is found by the Buddy Police’s Slayer Unit that Setsuna ( @senpujin ) is apart of who then try to arrest him and the 8.8 million countrymen inside of his ship the Valvelgear for coming to Earth illegally. Yudias shows some resistance to their actions, naturally upset at the sudden hostility when they had no idea they could not come to Earth without some sort of agreement. However, despite Yudias and his ship’s best efforts, they are quickly overpowered by the Buddy Police and incarcerated inside their Buddyfight cards, Yudias being honestly confused and doing all he can try and break free of the card prison due to the fact he does not know he is what they on Earth call a ‘monster’.
After returning to HQ, Tasuku Ryuenji, Takihara, Stella, Setsuna, Captain Kohaku, Hisui, and Commander I all come together to interrogate Yudias and the countrymen within his ship, the warrior still trying to use all of his strength to get out of the card. Naturally, everyone is confused by Yudias’ own confusion regarding his no knowledge of Buddyfight or the fact he came from ‘Hero World’. Tasuku, being someone with great instincts, decides to let Yudias explain himself as he does not sense any ill will from the illegal monster. And with that, the proud warrior of Velgear explains his story, instantly gaining the sympathy and understanding of everyone in the room except for Setsuna.
Upon hearing Yudias received information from who they figure out is Captain Answer, they decide to allow him and his ship filled with his countrymen live on Earth to learn more about Buddyfight and grow stronger under Tasuku’s roof and under Takihara’s guardianship. Yudias, forever greatfu to the Earthlings, asks if he can do anything in return, and Commander I gets the idea to have him help out with the Buddy Police considering he has battle and military experience. Thus, he helps them as a trainee along with attending Aibo Academy disguised as a human, similar to Mr. Neginoyama aka Captain Answer.

Dragon Age Inquisition Spy AU with Josie field agenting badly?
No? Just me?
Fine.
Tumblr media
Josephine rappels down a wall, the cord extending from her belt before it sticks. She sighs, speaking into her wrist harshly
"You forgot to check the wire for snags"
There's silence before a humming, fuzzy voice clips from the watch speaker.
"I checked it, you're just rusty from years of office work, Josie" Leliana quips from HQ
Another sigh as Josephine yanks the wire once, twice then the cord is free, loosening with slack to allow a smooth descent.
"Call me soft again and I'll make sure HQ knows you literally baby your mole rats." Josephine says with a smirk into the watch, bracing her legs against the wall as she jumped down.
The line is silent before the speakers whine slightly
"Doll collection" is all Leliana says.
It's just two words, but it's enough to make Josephine's blood go cold.

Introducing the Harlequin Hoopla!
We here at Marvel HEA HQ believe in love - obviously - and we adore celebrating it. In order to help the Marvel fandoms (all of them) do just that, we’ve created a prompt fest for the month of February to celebrate that love is love is love.
Harlequin has been a brand synonymous with love stories for over 50 years, so we decided to take a little inspiration from them for this fest. For those who aren’t familiar, Harlequin publishes books in separate lines - and each line has specific things about it. They have a line of all suspenseful stories, one of all stories set in Amish country, one where all the books are over 300+ pages, etc.
So, we’re going to have 4 “Lines” - separate prompt categories - for you to choose from as you create. Each line has a daily prompt and you can mix/match cards as much as you’d like.
SuperRomance: Any rating, fics need to be longer than 3k, mood boards must have 8 images and original art must be complete.
Presents: Any length, size or completion status, but must be rated M or E
Romance: Any length, size or completion status, but MUST be fluff focused and be rated G or T
Suspense: Any length, size or completion status, any rating. These are all action or supernatural prompts.
Tumblr media
Rules:
Basically, none. We ask that you post your prompt on or after the day it corresponds to (in your time zone is fine). The collection will open late on Jan 31 (EST) to start posting Feb 1 prompts. We ask a minimum fill of 500 words per prompt, with the exception of the SuperRomance prompts, which are to be a minimum of 3k or longer. You can start anytime.
Anyone who completes 5 or more prompts will get a participation badge and specific instructions on posting will be released closer to Jan 31. The event will run with 4 prompts for each day of February (and yes! that means that this is a Leap Year!)
Any Marvel ship is welcome - and poly ships are encouraged! - as well as any Marvel universe (MCU, 616, 3490, AoS, Daredevil, etc.) but remember that a Harlequin novel has to end with a Happily Ever After between the main protagonists! We also ask that the main rules from our Holiday Movie Challenge be respected: no underage sex, no romantic or sexual relationship of any kind between an underage person and an adult, and no glorification of N*zis if you write HTP or darker stories. Usual boundaries for age participation applies: 16+ for SFW content and 18+ for NSFW content - ages of consent and such vary so much from country to country, so we thank you for your understanding as we err on the sides of caution.
Below you will find images containing the prompts for each category, as well as the prompts written out so that those who use dictation have access to them.
Links to our FAQ and other information can be found here!
Happy Creating!

Disclaimer: We are in no way associated with Harlequin and are not being paid by anyone associated with the brand. We also would like to reiterate here that our Hallmark event has had its name changed as a result of the actions they took to pull a same-sex ad on Dec 14th, 2019. It is now known as the Holiday Movie Challenge. Thanks for your understanding!

OOC Info (includes rules, contact info, rp status, and other blogs,)
Links (to come): About | Threads | Tags
Name: Future Gohan (Mirai no Gohan) Aliases: Gohan Miraison, Han(s) Songo, Hans Gruber, Mira, Mirai
Race: Half-Saiyan Gender: Male Date of Birth: May 4, Age 757 Height: 5'11" (180 cm) Weight: 134 lbs (61 kg) Allegiance: Z Warriors Address: (Future) Earth Occupation: martial artist, vigilante
Appearance
orange turtle school gi (with ‘Han’ kanji symbol on back), dark blue undershirt, wristbands, belt, and boots
office worker uniform with thick black glasses; white shirt, black belt, grey pants, black leather shoes (while undercover in the past)
Kai Uniform (when visiting the Sacred World of the Kais)
Personality: a mix of canon, TFS DBZAbridged, and my own spin on the character
Biography: the same as canon Future Gohan, but with some changes and explanations to become canon for him which include:
Cooler arrives on Earth after Goku kills Frieza and King Cold
Yajirobe does not give Gohan an extra sensu bean before he leaves Korin Tower
Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan after Icarus is killed from protecting him
In a Super Saiyan Rage, Gohan rips Cooler’s tail and limbs off except one arm, allowing him to charge up a Supernova. He then sends Cooler into the sun with a Hyper Masenko
Salza sneak attacks Gohan with a ki blade while his guard is down, giving Gohan his scar. He is finished off by Piccolo like in the movie.
Sometime later, Cooler merges with the Big Geti Star and takes over New Namek, all the dragon clan Namekians are killed in the process (meaning no more dragon balls).
Hoi visits Earth and with the assistance of the Z Warriors, opens a sealed music box with a wish from the dragonballs, releasing the demon Hirudigarn and the Konatsa-jin hero Minosha.
Gohan and Minosha share a brotherly bond similar to Trunks and Tapion
Gohan is forced to kill Minosha with his sword in order to kill Hirudigarn with him
He inherits Minosha’s Sword and later passes it on to Trunks
Goku dies from a heart virus
Bulma is pregnant but is unsure who the father is. Yamcha fights Vegeta and self destructs as a last resort, it fails as bad as Choutzu’s did against Nappa
Trunks is Bulma and Yamcha’s son (instead of Vegeta’s)
The Z Warriors (except Vegeta) all teach their techniques to Gohan before they are killed by the Androids
AU-FT-verse // default verse
Future Trunks is killed (instead of Gohan losing his arm) during their first battle against the Androids years later
Future Gohan takes the role of Future Trunks in the past, and trains with Piccolo in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to prepare against Cell
AU-Cell-verse // Alternate canon Cell’s Timeline
Future Gohan does not lose his arm or die against the Androids
Future Trunks retrieves blueprints from the past, allowing Future Bulma to create a remote to deactivate them, the Androids are destroyed after.
Cell kills Trunks and steals his time machine when he prepares to make another trip to the past
Future Bulma builds another time machine and sends Future Gohan to the same past to investigate
other au (ideas) include:
DBZ-RS-Krilling: based on sample rp fan manga from here
Xeno Gohan: takes the role of Xeno Trunks instead
Future Gohan Black: Future Gohan is turned evil because of his potential (body swapped by Ginyu/Zamasu, mind taken over by Babidi/Towa)
Bebi / Majin / Buu Absorbed / Time Breaker Future Gohan
Techniques & Special Abilities
Masenko (and Hyper Masenko)
Kamehameha (and Fierce Combination)
Special Beam Cannon (learned from Piccolo)
Burning Attack and Finish Buster (learned from Future Trunks)
Energy Dome (Evil Barrier)
Solar Flare (learned from Krillin)
Super Saiyan
Tri Beam // ttaught by Tien)
Wolf Fang Fist and Spirit Ball // taught by Yamcha
Destructo Disk, Homing Energy Wave, Kakusandan // taught by Krillin
Light Grenade, Hellzone Grenade, Super Explosive Wave // taught by Piccolo of the past
Super Saiyan (Second Grade, Third Grade): achieved in the first day/year of HBTC
Super Saiyan (Full Power / Mastered): achieved in the second day/year of of HBTC after seeing Goku/Gohan do it
and eventually:
Super Saiyan 2 // achieved through rage)
Super Saiyan 3 // achieved through training
Potential Unleashed (Ultimate Future Gohan / Chou Mirai no Gohan): achieved through training then breaking the Z Sword and getting his potential unlocked by the Elder Kaioshin
Super Saiyan God (// through absorbing godly ki from Beerus, or wish from dragonballs, no ritual)
Super Saiyan Blue // through training with Whis
Ultra Instinct (Omen, Controlled)

summary: Tsukishima Kei is an apostate living in the Kocari Wilds with his long time friend. The army is gathering at Ostagar to drive off the recent darkspawn invasion and he’d planned to the hell stay out of it. Let’s just say things don’t go exactly as planned.
pairings: none yet
rated: T for violence and language and themes
notes: I realize this may make little sense to people who haven’t played Dragon Age: Origins or know about the games. I’m sorry :( I think you can still read it and enjoy it if you like, but some of the references may fly over your head. I actually find that wikipedia and other online sources do a pretty good job at explaining the background if you want to know about it. I also recommend the game to people who are considering it, it’s bad animation because its so old, but the story and the characters more than make up for it.
Tsukishima eyed the group in front of him with narrowed eyes.
It was odd, he’d never seen scouts come out this far into the Kocari Wilds. Not even with the war happening nearby. Nor did they ever pay such close attention to any of the old ruins the forest was riddled with. And besides, these guys didn’t act like scouts. Scouts scouted. These people had gotten themselves tangled up in no less than seven fights with darkspawn since they entered the dense forest when they could have just as well hidden or run. They were also rummaging around an awful lot, turning things over and the like. It was pretty clear that they were digging around for something specific.
And wait, was that--?
“An elf,” Yamaguchi breathed beside him, also having noticed that the mystery party’s pale-haired archer’s ears were just a little too pointed to be human.
“They have an elf in their party?” Yamaguchi asked, tilting his head up to look at his partner, “And he’s armed too.”
Tsukishima grunted in response. He was tempted to remind his friend that he had told him that he should wait back at the cottage, but he didn’t. It was pointless anyways; he knew he would just be given a sheepish apology and then be promptly ignored. Gone were the times when Yamaguchi would shrink away at the first sign of danger. Nowadays he preferred to run headfirst into it, a fact that irked Tsukishima to no end. It wasn’t like Yamaguchi ever had to deal with his own injuries after all was said and done. No, no, that job always fell to Tsukishima.
“They’re looking for something,” Tsukishima murmured. He moved over so Yamaguchi could crouch down next to him.
“In the old warden hide-out? That place is cleared out and abandoned though, what could they want in there?”
The old warden hide-out?
Oh, right. Now that Tsukishima thought about it, that ruin did used to be a warden base. Tsukishima remembered how Yamaguchi would drag him over to the abandoned castle, right after wardens had first left, and had made him play-pretend that they were real Grey Wardens off to save Ferelden.
Tsukishima hadn’t seen this place for years though. It was all broken down and dirty now. There used to be an arch at the doorway, he remembered. Now there was just pile of rubble at the entrance. Sad, but expected. The Kocari Wilds flooded at least twice a month in the spring and summer seasons and the harsh weather was nothing to sneeze at.
“Well, whatever they’re looking for, they’re poking around awfully close to the cottage,” Yamaguchi said, untying the sash that held his spear in place, “We’ll need to chase them off, right Tsukki?”
Tsukishima was about to respond when suddenly a realization hit him. He grabbed Yamaguchi’s arm and stopped him from readying his weapon.
The old warden hide-out.
An armed elf in their party.
Fighting darkspawn without so much as a pause.
And not to mention, working in the vicinity of a suspected Blight.
Tsukishima groaned. Of course that’s what they were, that took an embarrassingly long time to figure out. These guys weren’t a scouting party, they were...
“Tsukki?” Yamaguchi asked, “Figure something out?”
“Grey Wardens,” Tsukishima replied, “It’s a party of Grey Wardens. Put that away, if we don’t bother them they probably won’t bother us.”
Yamaguchi’s eyes widened comically.
“Really? Are they really Grey Wardens?!”
“Shhhh, idiot,” Tsukishima hissed, “They’ll hear us.”
An arrow flew right into Yamaguchi’s shoulder and Tsukishima knew his warning had come too late.
“An attack? At this distance?” Tsukishima breathed out in disbelief as he rushed over to Yamaguchi’s side and pried his hand away from the injury.
As soon as he got a look at the wound, Tsukishima immediately threw up a shield and started to chant a healing spell. Damn whoever had shot at them. Damn them and their monster strength. The arrow had gone right through Yamaguchi’s shoulder, the head of it was peeking out the other side. There was no way he could be moved with an open wound like that, he’d die of blood loss before ever reaching their cottage. Tsukishima knew he would need more time and herbs to properly clean and close the injury, but right now he could at least get the arrow out and stop the bleeding. Then, he could use a bit of magic to distract the mystery wardens as he escaped with Yamaguchi.
This was doable. He could do this.
Tsukishima had just worked the arrow out of Yamaguchi’s shoulder and had almost had the bleeding under control when he felt his shield collapse. The magic he was pouring out into Yamaguchi’s wound to stitch it up cut short too and Tsukishima suddenly felt as if his heart was being crushed. He couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t move.
He’d know this feeling anywhere.
“A templar,” Tsukishima growled lowly. He quickly tried to collect himself.
Yamaguchi heard him and immediately tried to shove Tsukishima away.
“Go, Tsukki. I’ll be right behind you. You have to get out of here.”
But one look at Yamaguchi’s pain-glazed eyes and Tsukishima knew he was lying. He could hear the Grey Wardens approaching as they spoke and without his magic...
“Forget it, Yamaguchi. Even if one of us stayed behind, we’d never get away in time.”
“But Tsukki--”
“Shut up. Just. Shut up and put pressure on that wound.”
Tsukishima ripped off a piece of his robe and pushed it onto Yamaguchi’s wound. His friend groaned at the contact but, for once, obediently did as he was told.
“Here they come,” Tsukishima announced, hearing the footsteps get louder, “Let me do the talking, you just press down on that.”
“Who’s there?” came a childish voice followed by loud, rapid footsteps.
“Hey, wait! Hinata!” a sweet sounding voice with a hint of an accent called out.
A few seconds later, a shock of red-hair was in Tsukishima’s face and Tsukishima himself was on the floor and out of breath. He was pinned under whoever it was that just knocked the breath out of him. He heard a thud to his right and turned his head towards it.
A giant hammer. Whoever just tackled him had just smashed a giant hammer into the ground mere inches from his head. So much for talking things through.
“Who are you? You’re not darkspawn,” the boy (boy? man? he was awfully small for a man if that was the case) asked. This time, there was no anger in his voice, just genuine curiosity.
“Hey, you’re human! What’s your name?”
“Are you kidding me?!” Tsukishima sputtered in disbelief, “You shoot at us, tackle me to the ground, almost smash my head in, and now you’re asking me my name?”
In the back of his mind, Tsukishima could hear his voice of reason telling him that it probably wasn’t a good idea to antagonize the boy who had him pinned defenselessly to the floor.
“Well, I thought you were darkspawn...”
“You don’t say,” Tsukishima sneered, firmly ignoring his voice of reason. This kid pissed him off just by breathing. Somehow something about him didn’t feel too dangerous either, though Tsukishima’s defenses were still very definitely up.
“Wha-HEY! Don’t make fun of me! I’m gonna be a Grey Warden, you know! A hero!”
Tsukishima wondered if this kid knew he didn’t have to scream every word out loud like that. He could hear him. Everything within a 20 mile radius could hear him.
“Oh?” he snapped back, “You’re out of luck there, kid. I don’t think the Grey Wardens hire toddlers.”
“I’m not a kid! I’m seventeen years old!”
“Sevente--”
“Yep! How old are you?” the apparently-not-a-kid asked Tsukishima tauntingly.
Newly turned sixteen. But there was no way Tsukishima was about to tell this guy that.
“Alright already. Fine, short-stack, you’re not a kid. Want to get off me now that you’ve confirmed that I’m not a darkspawn?”
“Short-stack?!”
“Hinata!” the sweet voice said from behind short-stack, “Let him up. This is not how a Grey Warden should conduct themselves.”
“But, Suga!”
“Off, Hinata.”
Tsukishima peered over ‘Hinata’s’ shoulder and saw that the command had come from the pale-haired elf he’d noticed before. Another one in their party, a bald human, was helping (or attempting to help) a resistant Yamaguchi off the ground. His attempts to get Yamaguchi up must’ve jostled something though because Yamaguchi suddenly cried out and grabbed his shoulder.
“Hey!” Tsukishima yelled, futilely trying to throw Hinata off of him, “Don’t touch him, he’s injured!”
Hinata seemed shocked, if unaffected physically, by the sudden outburst of his prisoner and quickly hopped off Tsukishima.
“Hey, hey! Okay, I’m off. Relax, Ser Tanaka was just trying to help.”
Tsukishima quickly scrambled to Yamaguchi’s side. The bald one backed off easily enough and gave Tsukishima access to his injured friend. Tsukishima began chanting a healing spell only to have his magic short out at his fingertips.
Right. The templar.
“So you’re the apostate,” a serious sounding voice growled from behind Tsukishima. A shadow suddenly loomed over him.
“Kageyama…” the elf, Suga, warned. But he was ignored, the Templar’s shadow didn’t move an inch.
Tsukishima turned his head and looked up to see an angry pair of deep blue eyes staring down at him. The man they belonged to, Kageyama presumably, was tall and obviously muscular. He had dark, floppy black hair that somehow fell in a way that only made him look angrier. There was also a bow and quiver slung over his shoulder. Tsukishima immediately recognized the arrows in the quiver--they were the same as the one he’d just pulled from Yamaguchi’s shoulder a few minutes ago.
“And I guess that makes you the templar,” Tsukishima practically snarled, “Want to give me my magic back so I can heal up my friend?”
‘Kageyama’ made a face at him and turned his head to Suga. Tsukishima did too. It was easy enough to see who was in charge around here--the others clearly deferred to the elf with the long, silver hair and the sweet voice. If Yamaguchi weren’t delirious from pain and blood loss, Tsukishima imagined he’d love this. He’d probably revere this Suga. After all, an elf in charge wasn’t something you see every day.
“Now, now,” Suga said, placing himself directly between Kageyama and Tsukishima, “Let’s have some answers first. I am Sugawara Koushi, a senior Gray Warden and vice-captain to the Ferelden Gray Wardens. We’re here to collect some valuables the Wardens lost and to collect some ingredients for our upcoming Joining. And you two are?”
Tsukishima balked at the thought of giving this guy his name. Names held power. But there wasn’t time to argue.
“Tsukishima. He’s Yamaguchi. We don’t belong to any army or company. I need my magic back to heal him or he’s not going to make it.”
Suga looked contemplative. He wanted to say yes, but Tsukishima was an unknown apostate. And not a half-baked one either, if what Kageyama told him was true.
Tsukishima saw his internal battle and decided to swallow his dignity a little and butter the guy up. This was Yamaguchi’s life at stake, after all. Grey Wardens wouldn’t arrest them, but Tsukishima knew that they wouldn’t hesitate to let his friend bleed out and would probably kill him too if they felt that’s what would keep their precious order, and its newest members, safe.
“Please let me help him,” Tsukishima addressed the Grey Warden group, forcing his voice to soften up.
Suga just kept looking at him, contemplating it, and Tsukishima could no longer stand the silence. He was barely holding in his panic. And, quite frankly, he was a bit embarrassed. The already had him on the floor and practically begging. What more did they want?
“Look,” Tsukishima said, sneer back in place, “Let me heal him. It’s what? Five of you? Against one of me? And you’ve got your pet Templar. Just how dumb do you think I am? I won’t attack you, for Maker’s sake.
Still, there was no answer. Tsukishima felt the blood gushing from Yamaguchi’s wound and decided to play one last card.
“Just let me heal my friend and I’ll even make it worth your while.”
“…worth my while?”
Figures that that’d be what got Suga to open his mouth. Tsukishima gritted his teeth, angry that it had come down to this, before continuing.
“Yeah, you guys were looking for something, right? Something in that castle? Well, let me tell you what, it’s emptied out. Mostly by me. And if I didn’t take it, then raid parties and robbers did and good luck finding any of them. Your best bet at finding whatever the hell you were looking for is with me.”
Yamaguchi whined in pain and Tsukishima resisted the urge to chant a healing spell. He settled for pulling Yamaguchi closer to him so that the other boy could lean on him instead of trying to support his own weight.
“But,” Tsukishima practically said as calmly as he could, glaring directly at Suga, “If he dies, I’ll never tell you where I put it. It’s all right in my cottage, but have fun locating that without me. You’ll need it. It’s hexed and hidden to hell and back.”
Honestly, Tsukishima didn’t relish the idea of letting these strange, armed men who were basically part of a cult anywhere near his hiding spot, but…. The situation was way past reservations. Tsukishima had to get them to agree to give him back his magic
Hearing the offer, Suga immediately grabbed Kageyama and dragged him a few feet back. The two started whispering frantically.
The baldie, Ser Tanaka is what Hinata had called him, and another warrior, shorter than Tsukishima but was still absolutely humongous with a helmet covering his entire face, wordlessly took guard around Tsukishima and Yamaguchi. Hinata plopped to the floor and stared at Tsukishima, obviously wanting to ask something. Tsukishima ignored him and continued to watch Suga argue with Kageyama. The two of them were clearly considering his proposal. Being a Templar, Tsukishima imagined Kageyama was arguing against it. The last call went to Suga however, and from where Tsukishima sat it looked like the older Grey Warden was all for the idea so Tsukishima was feeling hopeful.
“Here are your heroes of old, Yamaguchi,” Tsukishima almost muttered, “About to consort with someone they consider the equivalent of a demon in order to get their hands on whatever shiny treasure they were looking for. The mighty Grey Wardens.”
Almost. But he didn’t say it. In truth, Yamaguchi’s obsession with the Grey Wardens was… endearing. How his friend could still believe in heroes in this day and age, Tsukishima would never know. It was silly and he had to know that he’d be let down eventually. Yamaguchi’s seen more than enough of the world to know what it was like nowadays. But Tsukishima supposed that never-give-up brand of optimism was part of what made Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi.
He was all Tsukishima had anymore.
“Shit,” Tsukishima did mutter this time.
Yamaguchi hummed softly and looked up at him with bleary, confused eyes.
“Situation’s getting to me,” Tsukishima explained, “You know, this is your fault for yelling so damn loud.”
“…sorry, Tsukki…” Yamaguchi said with a sheepish grin (well, as much of one as he could manage at the moment).
“Just shut up,” Tsukishima mumbled back.
Tsukishima pulled Yamaguchi closer to him when he started to shiver in his arms.
Crap, he was losing way too much blood. They had officially run out of time.
“I meant what I said!” Tsukishima yelled at Suga and Kageyama, “I’ll let whatever precious treasure you’re looking for rot along with that cottage if he dies! So you wanna decide a bit faster or what?!”
The Templar sent a glare over to Tsukishima but his attention was forcefully yanked back by Suga, who had ignored the yelling. Hinata panicked though, jumping up.
“But!” he whined, “We’re looking for treaties! I don’t really get it but they’re super important and Captain Daichi said we need them to save the world!”
“Wow, sounds super important alright,” Tsukishima deadpanned, “Guess you better tell your friends to move it, huh?”
Hinata hopped up from his spot and ran towards the whispering duo.
“Stupid Kageyama, haven’t you decided yet?!”
~~~
In the end, Suga had put his foot down and ordered Kageyama to return Tsukishima’s magic. Reluctantly, the Templar did. Tsukishima didn’t bother thanking him--not that he’d ever been planning to. Instead, he’d moved right to healing Yamaguchi.
Tsukishima was able to stop the bleeding and the wound was closed up enough that Yamaguchi could make the trip home without worry of it ripping open, but the pain was definitely still there and the blood loss could only truly be fixed with time. Yamaguchi was still wobbly and weak and it was obviously hard for him to keep up. The sooner they got home though, the sooner Tsukishima could finish the job properly. Yamaguchi would have to hang on until then.
“This way then,” Tsukishima said to the group, getting up and helping a more-or-less healed Yamaguchi to his feet.
“Wow, already?” Suga exclaimed, “You do quick work!”
Tsukishima kept walking and said nothing, choosing instead to use his energy on silently leading the way while keeping an eye on Yamaguchi’s wound until he could be sure it wouldn’t open up again. He had agreed to give the Warden’s their stuff back and he would, but he had no intention of making small talk with the people who, not even an hour ago, tried to have him killed.
Yamaguchi, apparently, had no such reservations.
“Yeah, Tsukki’s pretty amazing! I’ve seen him heal wounds in minutes! He’s super proficient at it. Oh, and he knows pretty much every herb there is to know too! Ah, I’m Yamaguchi Tadashi, by the way. Good to meet you.”
“That’s incredible,” Suga said.
“Yamaguchi, shut up,” Tsukishima muttered at the same time.
“Sorry, Tsukki!”
“Why are you so happy about that anyways? It’s always your wounds I’m healing.”
“Haha, sorry, Tsukki.”
Tsukishima clicked his tongue.
“Anyways, what are you doing talking to the enemy?” Tsukishima continued.
“Huh? They aren’t really enemies though…” Yamaguchi said, looking confused.
“They shot at us!”
“W-well, I’m sure they just thought we were darkspawn…”
“Yamaguchi,” Tsukishima said exasperatedly, “They were about to let you bleed out on the floor. After they had confirmed you weren’t darkspawn, might I add.”
“W-well, I mean…”
Tsukishima sighed and turned his head forward, effectively ending the conversation. He knew what Yamaguchi would say. He knew his friend idolized the Grey Wardens. Even back when he first met Yamaguchi, when they were children, the boy had wanted to join the Wardens. Tsukishima figured that nothing he said would get through to Yamaguchi, not on this. Better to cut the conversation short before one of them got all worked up. Yamaguchi wanted to trust these Wardens? Fine, he could do whatever he wanted. Tsukishima wasn’t about to give them an inch though and he was going to make sure that they were gone the second they found what they wanted. He was not about to have bloodthirsty strangers crawling around the place where he lived for longer than necessary.
They would find their treaties, they would leave, and that would be the end of that.
“We wouldn’t have let you guys die though,” Hinata said, jarring Tsukishima from his train of thought, “We would have helped you.”
Hinata was looking up at Tsukishima with wide, almost creepy eyes. Tsukishima didn’t even think the wannabe Warden (because he was absolutely sure Hinata was one of the new recruits) was blinking.
“We’re heroes,” Hinata continued, sounding totally and unquestioningly sure of himself, “We save people and hunt darkspawn.”
Tsukishima finally broke himself away from those weird-ass eyes to reply. The surety in the shorty’s voice pissed him off. Heroes?
“Well, if that’s the case then you guys cut it awful close,” Tsukishima shot back, “And don’t think I missed you trying to take credit there. You saved us? You healed Yamaguchi, did you?”
The shrimp fell silent at that, wrestling for a reply. Tsukishima scoffed.
“You guys didn’t help jack squat, we helped ourselves,” Tsukishima continued, “And might I remind you that neither of us would have needed help to begin with if your merry little gang hadn’t attacked us.”
The tone of finality in his voice ended the conversation then and there. There was no response to that and Tsukishima knew it. Everything he’d said was a fact. Yamaguchi had almost bled out on the ground, courtesy of the Grey Wardens.
And Tsukishima almost couldn’t do anything about it.
Suddenly, Tsukishima was very aware that he had Yamaguchi’s blood practically caked on his clothes. It was drying out and it itched like hell.
He was also now very aware of the crowd behind him. Five warriors. Five Grey Wardens, the most feared fighters in Ferelden. And to top it all off, there was a Templar among them. He was an escaped apostate mage and he was willingly bringing a Templar to his home, the place he’d set up specifically to hide from Templars.
Tsukishima briefly wondered if he was out of his mind.
And yet the alternative was no less insane. The only other way out at this point would be to fight all the Wardens off, and that was practically a death wish for both him and Yamaguchi. At least with option one, there was a chance they’d be allowed to live. At the very least, they’d probably leave Yamaguchi alone.
If they captured Tsukishima, well, so be it. There was a reason he’d been so adamant about learning shapeshifting—it made escaping from tight spots much easier. So long as he could catch that Templar off his guard at some point…
“Hey,” Hinata said, jarring Tsukishima for the second time, “You’ve been glaring at Kageyama for a while now. You guys have history or something?”
Tsukishima glared and opted to say nothing. Was this guy serious?
“Your servant’s been shooting him looks too. What’s up with that? Is it because he shot at you guys?”
Ah, so he did have that damned Templar to thank for the arrow in Yamaguchi shoulder.
Wait…what?
“What?” Tsukishima turned to Hinata and asked, “My servant? What on Earth are you going off about, shrimp? I don’t have a—“
Suddenly, realization hit Tsukishima hard in the gut. He barely held himself back from hexing the shrimp.
“Yeah you do,” Hinata said, wrinkling up his nose, “Your friend over there. Though I got to say, you guys have the weirdest servant-master relationship ever.”
Tsukishima froze up.
“Hey,” Hinata whined, “Why’d you stop walking?”
The group behind them stopped as well and honed in on the conversation. Suga pushed past Ser Tanaka, ready to intervene at the first sign of trouble.
“Tsukki?” Yamaguchi called out, “What’s wrong?”
“I don’t know,” Hinata said back, “I just asked why you guys were staring at Kageyama and he got all weird.”
Tsukishima almost opened his mouth to snap back when Yamaguchi put a hand on his shoulder from behind him. That stopped Tsukishima cold.
“Tsukki? You okay?” Yamaguchi asked, sounding concerned.
Tsukishima shook off the urge to cause a scene. That’d do nothing. Idiots like the shrimp wouldn’t even get it either. He’d never have to see these people again anyways so cares what they thought?
“Yeah,” Tsukishima said, trying to keep the acid out of his voice as best as he could, “I’m fine.”
No one was convinced.
“Are you sure, Tsukki? We can rest, if you want. You used up a lot of your magic to…”
“I said that I’m fine,” Tsukishima insisted. He shrugged Yamaguchi’s hand off and pushed forward.
The group looked confused for a moment but ultimately must have decided not to ask further. They quickly fell back into formation. Yamaguchi was once again making easy conversation with Suga. The helmeted warrior, who’d been silent until now, was listening in. Ser Tanaka was chatting up Kageyama.
And to Tsukishima’s dismay, Hinata was still walking next to him.
“Hey, can I ask you a question?” Hinata asked.
“No,” Tsukishima snapped back.
“Why not?”
“I don’t want to answer.”
“But—“
“I’m done talking to you, shrimp. Go annoy someone else.”
“That’s unfair,” Hinata complained, “I’m going to go ask your servant then, he’ll probably answer.”
Tsukishima flinched at the word ‘servant’ but once again bit his tongue.
It didn’t matter what the shrimp thought. It didn’t matter what any of them thought. In fact, the more they got wrong, the better. The less they knew about him and Yamaguchi the better.
“He seems way too sweet to hang out with you. Bet a jerk like you doesn’t even pay him well.”
Tsukishima refused to rise to that easy bait. He said nothing.
“I hate guys like you,” Hinata hissed, sounding more and more agitated with every word, “You take advantage of elves because you can and treat them like objects!”
He refused to rise to it, he refused to rise to it.
“Well,” Hinata said, practically shaking with the fury of being so rudely disregarded, “I thought maybe there was some good in you, but I guess I was wrong! A jerk like you could only be using an elf! You’re just like those guys back at camp! You people treat them like slaves! You treat him like a slave! When I finally become a Grey Warden, the first thing I’ll do is come back and free that elf from you, you watch!”
He screamed the accusations like he had been waiting to say them for a long time, and maybe he had been.
Tsukishima wouldn’t have been surprised if the entire valley heard what Hinata had just said. Yamaguchi certainly heard it if the way he froze mid-step was anything to go by. Wide-eyed, Yamaguchi turned to his friend for answers.
And Tsukishima practically heard himself snap.
Hinata barely dodged the jet of fire aimed at his shoulder. He wasn’t fast enough to fully dodge it completely though and it grazed his arm. Tsukishima’s flames tended to be smaller and weaker than other mages on his level, but they were nothing to scoff at--especially if they managed to hit. Hinata’s thin leather armor melted away and the fire made contact with skin before Hinata could jump out of the way.
Hearing Hinata’s yelp of pain, Tsukishima immediately cut off the attack.
“You can attack me all you want, I won’t back down! I’m not leaving that poor elf to a jerk like you!” Hinata screamed after the flames stopped.
Whatever sense that had just returned to Tsukishima flew away just like that.
“Elf, elf, elf. I treat him like an object?! You can’t even be bothered to remember his name, you half-wit!” Tsukishima roared.
As Tsukishima spoke, Hinata went for his hammer, ignoring Suga’s order to stop. He swung down as hard as he could at Tsukishima’s head, but was too slow. Tsukishima had already thrown up a shield and Hinata’s weapon slid clean off causing him to lose his balance and fall to his knees.
Tsukishima swung his fist at the warrior, abandoning his magic in part because he had lost all of his marbles and in part because he realized, even in his crazed state, that killing the boy in front of his would be very bad. His hit landed, but Tsukishima realized too late that he had both underestimated and overestimated Hinata—underestimated his strength and overestimated his intelligence. The dimwit was stronger than he looked.
Hinata somehow managed to lift his humongous war hammer one-handedly and was swinging in for the kill. Tsukishima didn’t have time to throw up a strong enough shield. The one he had up would shatter. Tsukishima readied his healing spells and braced for impact.
But none came.
The blunt end of a spear, Yamaguchi’s spear, smashed into Hinata’s chest and he was blown back a good two feet, skidding all the way. When he finally came to a stop, he opened his eyes to the non-blunt end of Yamaguchi’s spear pointing right at him, hovering dangerously close to his left eye.
“Tsukki?” Yamaguchi called to Tsukishima in a worried voice. He didn’t bother to move the spear either.
“I’m fine, Yamaguchi,” Tsukishima said numbly, embarrassed at the turn of events.
Yamaguchi’s posture softened at that. He set down the spear and stepped away from Hinata slowly and calmly, allowing the helmeted warrior to take his place in order to he check the tiny Warden over.
“Look,” Tsukishima began to say to the Wardens, but was cut off by Yamaguchi.
“I appreciate the thought, Tsukki, but I don’t need standing up for.”
Tsukishima sensed that Yamaguchi had more to say besides that and wisely decided to let his friend finish.
Unfortunately, Hinata didn’t have that kind of foresight.
“What gives?” Hinata asked after being propped up by his helmeted friend, “I was just trying to help you…”
“Maybe you should talk to me first and make sure I actually need help instead of running around making a huge mess of things,” Yamaguchi snapped back.
Hinata winced. It didn’t stop Yamaguchi at all. Tsukishima didn’t remember the last time Yamaguchi had gotten so worked up. Then again, it’s been a long time since he’d been called a slave too…
“Don’t assume that you know anything about me. Or Tsukki,” Yamaguchi continued, “I’m not his-his… slave. I’m his friend. I’m his friend! Don’t you call me that-that…. You don’t even know, do you? How actual elven servants—how the real slaves—are treated? How they’re used and tossed aside like they mean nothing? Do you think a regular old shem would’ve healed me? Do you? You think an escaped mage would enslave others? Do you know anything about what you’re talking about? Of course not. All I am is an elf to a human soldier like you, someone for you to rescue. I’m some adventure to you. What do you know?!”
Yamaguchi screamed the last bit and gripped his spear so tight his entire arm shook with the effort of it. The entire party fell silent. In the corner of his eye, Tsukishima saw the helmeted warrior put a hand on his sword.
Tsukishima knew he should be doing something. He should explain himself to the Wardens. He should be offering some comfort. He should tell Yamaguchi to calm down before it all got out of hand, but couldn’t find the words. He was about to just grab Yamaguchi and force him to step back before these Wardens decided to off both of them when Suga spoke up.
“Okay,” Suga said in a calming voice, “Okay, we understand. Now please calm down before I we have to do something drastic. You too, Hinata. You went too far and assumed too much. I keep telling you that Gray Wardens do not meddle in the business of others.”
Now that Tsukishima was looking at him, he realized that Suga was holding Kageyama and Ser Tanaka back. That must have been why he hadn’t felt his magic cut out like before, now that he thought about it.
“Suga,” the helmeted warrior at Hinata’s side said, “Hinata’s hurt. This is hardly the time to lecture…”
“He’s a Gray Warden and that wound is nothing. Can you stand, Hinata?” Suga asked.
Hinata immediately stopped groaning and looked at his commanding officer. He nodded once and then slowly pushed himself up, refusing the helmeted warrior’s help.
“Well then,” Tsukishima said, watching Hinata get on his feet and strap his war hammer back on, “Let’s get moving. We want to get you guys out of the Wilds before dark, right?”
“Yeah, we do,” Yamaguchi said.
Tsukishima groaned. He’d recognize that tone anywhere. Yamaguchi ducked his eyes when Tsukishima turned to look at him and, well, that just confirmed it.
Yamaguchi was upset with him. And Tsukishima supposed he could see why. Which only made him more frustrated about it.
It wasn’t like he didn’t know he shouldn’t have attacked Hinata. Tsukishima knew that perfectly well. But the way that brat—and he was a brat, no matter his age—had just assumed Yamaguchi was some kind of elven slave…
Well, too late now. Yamaguchi was mad and Tsukishima knew that there wasn’t a thing he could do about it. Asking him about it wasn’t even an option, not with their present company. And in any case, clearing the air wasn’t really Tsukishima’s best talent. It wasn’t Yamaguchi’s best talent either which is part of what made fights between them a major headache.
Great. Just perfect.
This day was about to get even longer.
At least they were almost at the cottage.
