This is not the thought I had when I started writing this post but I think, in retrospect, last twilight was never as magical as I once thought, and furthermore I think that the magic was actually jimmy and sea the whole time. I would maintain that the story started off strong and the blossoming romance was extremely well executed, but there were always flaws in the writing and it was always shown that day had a lot of work to do and. well. wasn’t doing it. I don’t think I was picking up on it because sea made day so unbelievably endearing even as a supposed asshole that I either didn’t notice the red flags or ignored them. You have to understand, I was not a jimmy nor sea nor jimmysea fan before I started watching last twilight. I had not already seen vice versa and wai was so long ago that I don’t even remember having an opinion of him. I had never heard of the first show sea was in. I had not been anticipating this show since the pilot trailer and wasn’t even planning to watch it. I didn’t watch it when it came out. I think I waited like two weeks before I started it. I went into it with no feelings about jimmysea, I had seen criticism of jimmy’s previous performances and I didn’t know anything about sea other than him being jimmy’s branded partner so if anything I was… prepared for them to not do all that well. I wasn’t expecting much I guess. This is the first time I put on my clown makeup. Like I said, sea as day was so endearing to me from pretty early on, maybe not ep 1 but by ep 3 I was like that’s my baby!!! I don’t know why or how but he made me fall in love with day so bad, and nothing day did (until… u know….) ever made me love him less. I really can’t describe what about him I found so lovable especially when he was definitely an asshole and wouldn’t stop with the “u have zero tenderness in your body” nonsense lmao. I think sea just has some je ne sais quoi about him or something that’s like captivating. I did watch vice versa at some point while last twilight was airing and I found talay endearing too. Even though he was more mature or like. didn’t have such a spoiled baby quality to him, so I think it’s just something about sea idk. Hell I’m already endeared to his character in the trainee from bts footage and promo pics alone 😭 ok hopefully point made bc this post is already really long and I have a lot more to say lmao.

*I promise I know how to write proper paragraphs I just am trying to type what I wanna say before my brain moves on to a new thought lmao but let me give a line break for readability*

Let me try to talk about jimmy without waxing poetic. I had pretty low expectations for him bc I had seen ppl criticize his work before so how did I end up loving him so bad!!! The answer is he’s just good at what he does!!! Was he always this good? I didn’t have any qualms about his performance as puen and I can’t remember wai. I think he was also a minor character in enchante but I didn’t watch that. Anyway, if he used to suck he doesn’t anymore!! His growth is especially impressive bc acting isn’t even his main profession!!! I don’t want to harp a lot on why last twilight disappointed me bc I want this to be a jimmysea appreciation post first and foremost but the problem with mhok that jimmy obfuscated was he really didn’t have much to him. He had a tragic backstory that was never fully explored but aside from that it was just day on the brain all day every day how can I serve day how can I help day how can I care for day how can I make day smile like girl stand up 😭 jimmy somehow managed to make mhok (to me but I’m biased) the most compelling character in the show with just his eyes!!! His eyes held SO MUCH EMOTION that it made mhok feel like a much more substantial character than he ended up being. Trying to be short and to the point now bc this is getting out of hand but I want jimmy on my screen forever, he is so special to me!!!

Last point: mhok and day did not have en equal or super healthy relationship so why did it hurt sooo bad when they broke up? Again, it was jimmysea magic masking the flaws. The chemistry was undeniable and they seemed so in love! They were always so happy to be together that you almost didn’t notice how one sided their relationship was becoming. Their comfort in each other was so real and believable bc evidently that’s not acting! It’s clear that jimmy and sea enjoy their paired roles and enjoy working together in general. I’m not thinking of anyone in particular but I don’t think all pairs could sell this natural comfort as effortlessly bc they are not…. this naturally comfortable together lmao. Jimmysea’s innate charms are exponentially amplified when they are together. I firmly believe that if jimmy wasn’t mhok and sea wasn’t day then last twilight would not have been this loved (until it got to where not even jimmysea magic could salvage it 😭)

TLDR it was jimmysea magic that masked last twilight’s flaws so well that we were dumbfounded by that ending

I am sooo happy I sent that ask!! Your reply was everything I could have wished for and more. I didn’t know anything about the VC universe (I did see the movie adaptation as a kid, but all I could remember were the ~vibes), and now I might actually want to check out the books. I mean I can’t believe how much of it is canon LOL, traumatized kinky asexual vampires wtf? sign me up??? Which book(s) of the series would you recommend to me? :o

In the meantime, I will DEFINITELY be giving your VC fics a try, thank you so much for the pointers!!! I’m already weak just reading your reply, esp. that parallel of post-disaster Armand and Marius being kind of like an AU where Shiro *does* give up on Keith - that actually broke me. A lot of what I love about your fics is how you characterize Keith so realistically and in a way that’s meaningfully informed by his upbringing/subsequent abandonment issues and that’s a thrill to read because, well, it’s just good writing - but also because it makes so much sense, not just abstractly but in a very real and personal way. And while the ~relatability~ of it all makes for a super intense reading experience, it can also be weirdly and sometimes incredibly cathartic imo - which is one of the reasons why I think I keep revisiting your fics (sorry if tmi LOL 😭). But!! In the case of Sheith it more or less all works out in the end because, like you said, it’s such a wholesome ship and they love and prioritize each other so much that (as a reader) they’re kinda like a safe space, delectably complete with all the angst and hurt and fuckedupness of their circumstances/selves (you know, for flavor). However, thinking about a timeline where it does NOT all more or less work out, well that’s kinda super heartwrenching! But yummy? And I kinda can’t wait to get into it but I’m also genuinely scared for my heart LMAO. Anyway I’m sorry for rambling!!! With your permission I will definitely come back and scream about Sheith and vampires because I sorta already am lol.

So this post got really long I’m so sorry asdghkads TLDR: I recommend all of them but I also don’t LMAO and you can skip around and won’t be confused but it will spoil stuff. This is a LOADED QUESTION.

It’s wild like I was thinking about the fic i could stop dreaming and also just in general AGAIN IF WE CAN TALK ABOUT COMMON SHEITH TROPES/FANON like I’ve read many S8 fix-its where Keith is drifting around and he’s just like so cold and broken and empty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that’s how Armand feels to me! Even a fic like heart nailed open where Keith is just so fucking empty! Or SOURCE DECAY??????? Like I think there’s tons of Sheith AUs or S8 fics where Keith is like Depressed Guy Keith and !!!!!! God it fucks me up lol. Armand is kinda like if Depressed Guy Keith was also like a 500 year old fucking weirdo.

And like BECAUSE they’re vampires and they’re immortal they’re sort of always coming in and out of each other’s lives so like there’s always a hypothetical future where they can work it out. Like i could stop dreaming is about them working it out, right? And what it would take to heal that injury. And there’s a lot of stuff in canon where these characters commit absolute fucking atrocities to each other and still manage to work it out and I think it’s again just an exercise in empathy and asking if we can still deserve love when we’ve fucked up. The characters have CENTURIES to get over stuff (and some of them STILL DON’T LOL) but sometimes they do. Famously & without spoiling too much of IWTV, Armand does something pretty fucking atrocious to Louis and they still have a long relationship and still love each other very much!!!

But ON THE QUESTION OF WHICH BOOKS, jfc hold my beer

I think in Sheith you see people like almost universally dismiss S8; the only fics I ever see of it really are like just gratuitous whump or fix-its LOL which is valid. And VC has FIFTEEN FUCKING BOOKS and you could honestly ask ANY fan in VC which books “count” and which books are skippable and I think everyone has a different answer.

I also think you can read them out of order and there’s always a little bit of exposition to catch you up so you won’t be lost; the only downside is that you’ll get spoiled on the previous book. For example, if you jumped in and read Armand’s book first, it would make sense, but it would spoil what happened at the end of the book before it.

Also to get the movies & show out of the way because it’s faster than committing to fifteen books:

The 1994 movie is a pretty solid adaptation; you can tell they condensed some details for time or whatever but it’s pretty faithful. There’s also the show that came out last year which is …………….. not so faithful lol. The show also heavily focuses on Lestat & Louis which is the juggernaut ship of the fandom but they’re also like the missionary position of the fandom so who the fuck cares lol. (Loustat fans lurking in this extremely niche post I am so sorry, I'm kidding ilu LMAO it's just not my thing!) And tbh the show wrote Armand & Daniel’s characters SO POORLY it like absolutely killed any motivation I had to continue watching so as an Armand stan I can’t really recommend it but it’s kinda like silly and fun if you don’t take it too seriously. And tbh if this entire fact finding mission is to understand VC more, the show literally changes EVERYTHING; it changes the time period, it changes the lore, it changes the story, it changes the character ages, etc. Basically it just kept the names lol. It's a completely different canon so I think even show fics & book fics aren't compatible either.

There’s also a movie of Queen of the Damned from 2002 which is like SO BAD LMAO but also silly fun. It’s a really bad adaptation but I’d put it in between the movie and the show. Marius is in it and the characterization is really strange LMAO. Armand is an extra.

The thing about VC is that it’s very sort of like non-linear and nontraditional storytelling. Most of the books are narrated by Lestat but several of them are narrated by random other people, and a lot of times the same story is retold through other people’s POVs. Like you get the story about Marius & Armand in three different books and each version is a little different because everyone has a different perspective. And regarding reading out of order and having spoilers, I do think it often creates like a suspense vs surprise element because we circle back and revisit the same stories so many times; you might get a spoiler and read a book knowing that a certain thing is going to happen and there’s still the tension of waiting for it to happen haha. Like when I mentioned the cult raids Marius’s house—you learn about that in Book 2 so you read Armand’s book later going into detail about his life and you’re just SWEATING because you know it’s coming. AND THEN YOU READ ABOUT IT IN MARIUS'S BOOK AND YOU'RE JUST DEVASTATED ONCE MORE.

I will say that for me I always recommend just fucking read them lol. Just read all of them. LOL!! But they’re weird and like, you’re gonna hate some of them, but I don’t think you can take someone’s word for it on Tumblr, it must be experienced. But I do understand that it’s a lot of material to get through and so I can give a fair cheat guide I think.

Most fans agree that the first three books (“The Trilogy”!) are solid and worth reading. Those are Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and The Queen of the Damned. IWTV is like this gloomy gothic tome about Louis’s life that started this whole thing and was written as a conversation about grief because Anne Rice’s daughter had died. It absolutely reads like a book someone writes about their daughter dying and it’s REALLY beautiful but it’s also a bit dense at times. If you’re put off by the vibe IT GETS EASIER when Lestat shows up because he literally bursts into the series like Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way ready to like tell you how blonde he is and how he’s gonna fuck everyone’s lives up. The books are still very heavy on existential questions and angst and grief but the text gets a bit lighter and super absurd LOL.

The first three also establish the universe and lore, though, so I think it would give you a pretty solid foundation to understand that type of stuff.

After the trilogy the books just go off the rails like there’s a few about Lestat having stupid adventures and doing dumb shit, there’s a few that cross over with Anne Rice’s witch series (so add three more book so if you truly wanted to read all of them!), then Anne Rice went back to the church and stopped writing vampires so there’s a huge gap, and then she quit the church again and returned LMAO. There’s a final trilogy she wrote before she died that are like, not the heaviest reading and they’re just kinda like silly good times with lots of Easter eggs and fan service. I feel good about the final trilogy being how it ended, just really silly times about them trying to use iPhones and shit, completely wild.

As far as ARMAND CONTENT THOUGH.

Armand does feature heavily in the trilogy so that’s also a good Armand foundation. And it’s REALLY FUN because he shows up in IWTV as sort of a chill mentor to Louis, but then in TVL you get the story about how Lestat met him when he was still in the cult and he was a feral little monster!!! And I love the duality of how Lestat and Louis describe him!!! It’s framed as unreliable narration a lot of the time because like Lestat’s resentment & Louis’s respect for Armand absolutely color the way they describe him, but idk like 100 years go by in between the two meetings so you also see a lot of character growth and see how Armand is doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God. My heart.

Anne Rice also very often uses like texts inside texts so like, IWTV literally is an interview with a vampire where the bulk of the book is in quotes as dialogue LOL and then in other books you often meet a character who will talk for like 40 pages at a time to tell a story. So in TVL when Lestat meets Armand, Armand takes over for a chapter and tells the story of his life, and then later he meets Marius and Marius ALSO tells the story of his life.

QOTD is a modern story (modern in the 1980s when it was written haha) about how the whole vampire world has to deal with Lestat’s bullshit and they all come together for a common cause. This book features the little novelette about Armand & Daniel as one of the chapters!! It’s so good!! (The chapter is called The Devil's Minion and basically if you needed to understand Armand & Daniel you could just read that one chapter and that's basically it bc then it goes to shit!!! Not to spoil anything but also don't get your hopes up about like heaps and heaps of ship content because there isn't any lmfao fml)

It also features Marius and Armand reuniting with each other after 500 years!!!!!!!! HEARTBREAKING! It’s really good and very preposterous but the writing is so lush and takes itself so seriously you kinda forget that it’s preposterous.

Armand has a POV book later in the series, it’s called The Vampire Armand, it details his life as a human and some of his early years as a vampire with Marius. IT’S SORT OF LIKE A LONG EXTENDED VERSION OF HIS CHAPTER IN TVL.

I do want to say that regarding the BDSM and whatnot that I mentioned; this book is quite controversial because there’s not good BDSM etiquette LOL and like part of the genius of this book is that it can be read as abuse, even when Armand isn’t setting out to tell you the story of how he was abused. I have a lot of thoughts about this because Anne Rice was also an erotica writer and her erotica books were all noncon BDSM; I WROTE ABOUT IT HERE I DON’T WANT TO GET INTO IT NOW but I think depending how people go into this book they either see the kink & sex stuff as explicit abuse OR you can read it as like, fantasy from a porn writer. As a Sheith fan I’m going to assume you’re not that sensitive lol. (But also por que no los dos, that's the flavor baby!)

Personally I think you could read this book as a standalone and like, it’ll be a little whacky without context, but I think I’ve given you a lot of context. It’s basically about his sad sad life, the religious trauma, and all the freaky sex he had. (Also just so you’re not disappointed, the sex isn’t graphic haha but he’ll be like “And then I went to the brothel and they licked honey off my nipples and I came home and Marius sucked my dick in the bathtub” but not like crazy sex scenes.)

Marius also has a POV book called Blood & Gold and it’s my favorite in the series!! IT’S MARIUS’S LONG EXTENDED VERSION OF HIS TVL CHAPTER. I think it’s the one that handles IMMORTALITY the best; the other books often focus on a short period of time or a specific incident and don’t often span someone’s ENTIRE life. IWTV spans Louis’s entire life but he’s only like 200 years old. Marius is 2,000!!!! He’s from the Roman Empire!! So like it’s really exciting to me to read about his whole life and all the eras he lived through!!!!!!!!!!!!

In his book you also get a few chapters about his time with Armand and it breaks my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s also a third secret option which is the book Pandora which isn’t part of the main series; VC is like actually 13 books and 2 side books? LOL So Pandora is one of the side books. But she was the first vampire that Marius made and they were lovers for like 200 years. This book to me feels like Anne Rice had a lot of leftover historical research and wanted to park it somewhere so a lot of the text is her talking about history stuff but there’s really great Marius content here and Marius/Pandora is one of my fav ships.

A lot of the fandom are more into the original trilogy and the Lestat/Louis content but I’m all about Marius so I’m into the DARK TRIAD of The Vampire Armand/Blood & Gold/Pandora. This to me is the more interesting section of the series but it’s an unpopular opinion so don’t take my word for it.

Other than that I’d also say Memnoch the Devil is my absolute least favorite VC, I think it’s so weird and boring lol but there’s some absolutely incredible Armand stuff in it and the stuff Armand does in this will be spoiled immediately if you check out Pandora or TVA. All in all it’s like idk 10 fucking pages of Armand LOL so if you got an ebook you could probably word search him. BUT YKNOW WHAT? Again don’t take someone’s word for it from Tumblr because like I find this book very weird and boring because it’s the most religious and I was raised atheist; there are people who were raised religious and say this one is their favorite. So what the fuck do I know!

Marius & Armand & Daniel are all in the final trilogy as well if you make it that far. Daniel is sort of always shuffled to the side because Anne Rice didn't care about him so like every time Daniel shows up I like feast on the breadcrumbs LOL but I'm glad to get some context about how he's doing and what's going on with his life.

ANYWYA I’M NOT SURE IF THIS ANSWERS THE QUESTION OR MAKES IT MORE CONFUSING LOL but ! ?!

They’re very weird books, they’re also kinda outdated and racist, but very queer, beautiful prose, incredible characters. They were my first hyperfixation that I can never seem to shake even when I’ve done all the work to dismantle all the ways they’re problematic and imperfect, it’s just yknow sometimes something gets its claws in you LOL. And I go out and explore other fandoms and still always come back to Marius and Armand and Daniel lol. I say that to say I wouldn’t be offended if you didn’t like them LOL but don’t judge me if you give it a shot and you’re like “what the fuck is this”

I just think Armand is like the most incredible character of all time okay!

I’m happy you’re enjoying my comments on Ao3. I always feel that I leave out so much that I’d like to say because your writing is deep and thoughtful, and I could go sentence by sentence. I’ve been having Miscellaneous Thoughts too (and mostly rhetorical questions), like:

Obi-Wan: Why did he decide to see Anakin after 17 years? Because Luke was nearly an adult (and wouldn’t be subject to Anakin’s influence) and was graduating and going to travel? This might be the only time father and son could get to know each other, and Obi-Wan still has a soft spot for Anakin. Along with the letters, did Obi-Wan bring photos of Luke?

Did Obi-Wan have any influence in getting Anakin released or was it all Palpatine? (Oh, please, I hope Palpatine’s visits weren’t conjugal ones 🫣) Did Anakin’s terms of parole include having a place to live and that’s why Obi-Wan invited him? Is Anakin required to get work? Is Palps paying him? And…and…okay, when Anakin is sexually aroused and left unsatisfied with Luke, does he…I mean…do he and Obi-Wan…is that what they do at night and when Luke’s at school??? LMAO, that’s not a serious question. Or maybe it is. :D

I won’t make this too long but here are little things I didn’t comment on in Chapter 1: Luke seeing that Anakin left his boots on and Obi-Wan didn’t scold him. (In another chapter, Anakin’s duffel took over Obi-Wan's favorite chair.) And, hmm, Obi coming out of the bathroom wiping his face (I’m sure there was nothing untoward about that, cough). Anakin’s reaction when Obi touched Luke’s shoulder (and Luke noticing) (twice). That Obi-Wan owns a floral-patterned comforter. Obi (like God) banishing himself and Luke to their rooms because the living area belongs to Anakin. Luke being excited and horrified about sneaking out (oh just wait, darlin’) but it wasn’t like they were doing anything ILLEGAL. When Luke and Anakin see each other for the first time, I was reminded of the first Godfather movie when Michael sees Apollonia and a man tells him they call it “struck by a thunderbolt”. Love at first sight. Or at least lust on Luke’s part.

I like to imagine the first time they have privacy and sleep together and wake up together. The first time that Luke initiates sex and touches Anakin’s enormous cock. Anakin would be over the moon. But THEN I thought - no, no, the best moment will be the first time Luke touches Anakin’s FACE. That would be the loving gesture that would melt Anakin into a puddle. 🫠

God, I love thinking about this pair. There’s a specific one-shot I’d like to write and maybe I will after your story is over (sob) because I don’t want to intrude on any scenes you’re planning. There needs to be more AniLuke and VaderLuke stories and I hope you write others. Maybe even occasional one-shots in this universe. 🫶🏼 🤞

For your first question, we will actually get into that during the fic itself, so I can't spoil too much. But you've basically hit the nail on the head, lol. I don't think Obi-Wan brought any photos of Luke, but I do think he made sure Anakin flipped through the family photo album at some point. And if he noticed a few photos missing afterwards, he didn't say anything. He figures he owes Anakin that much.

Anakin's terms of parole absolutely included having a place to live, hence the pullout couch. Obi-Wan most likely helped with the parole process (provided proof of residence, picking him up, exit interview, etc) but he didn't have anything to do with filing for the appeal that got Anakin out — that was all Palpatine. And since old Sheev went to all this trouble to get him released, I think he's fully expecting Anakin to come work for him again. Anakin doesn't have much choice honestly, but that's fine with him; he's still loyal to Palpatine, regardless of what may or may not have happened during those prison visits. ;)

Lmao, personally I don't think Anakin and Obi-Wan are indulging themselves behind Luke's back, despite how hot and bothered Anakin usually is after having playtime with his son. Anakin's still harboring a lot of resentment for his brother/father figure and I think he only has eyes for Luke, and despite how pent-up and blueballed he's gotta be at this point, he knows the pay-off will be more than worth it.

I looove all the little details you noticed in chapter 1, that just warms my heart. 😭♥ I'm very grateful that you would take the time to so carefully read (and reread!) something I wrote. It can take hours and hours to crank out these chapters, and only minutes to consume them, so it is so validating and flattering and heartwarming when someone like you takes the time to not only take in every sentence, every word, but go out of your way to comment on them. I so appreciate you!!

I can't wait to explore some of these softer moments you've described, especially the ones that are happening sooner rather than later 😈 And please please please, if you're feeling inspired to write, do not wait for me!! I would never feel intruded on, especially since I am tonguing the dry well of the vaderluke / analuke tag after every update, just hoping more people will start writing for this ship 😭

the girlies are going through it so i’ve watched even more stuff lately

i forgot in the last post that phil and i are keeping up with my adventures with superman (we are going to watch the newest one[s] today!) and this show is just. exactly what i want in superman media. because it’s superman! it’s why i love superman!!!!!! it’s just colorful and fun and he’s so puppy!!! and it’s incredibly anime, like they’re really out here wearing their inspirations on their sleeves and i love them for it. if you like superman who is actually superman and not batman but wearing blue this is the show for you. (and!!! he’s got the underwear!!)

bella and i also have started only murders in the building season 3. not much to say yet cause only two episodes but we’re off to a good start! i shan’t spoil who is IN THIS SEASON OH MY GOODNESS but i will remind everyone who forgot like we did that paul rudd.

we unexpectedly marathoned our flag means death the other night cause i had still not yet watched it and uhh. i mean do i really need to go into this one? xae was also there while we watched and he ended up getting sucked in to the point he was literally yelling at the show by episode nine. (also: when lucius was like “i know i’m not cute but i’ve decided to carry myself as if i am”? that’s the energy i want to embody from now on.)

as for movies: i think i should have included in the last one but am not sure about the order of things because time is fake that i saw insidious for the first time. i actually wrote a little mini-essay in my head about gender roles in that movie but it wasn’t as egregious about it as, say, a quiet place. like insidious doesn’t make me low-key a bit mad like that one does lmao. it has some real good spookenings! too bad the sequels are apparently real bad cause i would like to have continued the story, but it’s not killing me or anything. like that cliffhanger didn’t make me tear my hair out or whatever. it’s patrick wilson he’ll be fine.

we watched an irish film called the hole in the ground which is about a hole in the ground (that has some evil fey creatures in it). it was good! it’s very beautiful and quiet and atmospheric and i am a slut for atmosphere. this is for if you want a straightforward but artistic horror film.

then we watched the night house, and i guess horror movies don’t feel the need to have warnings because it’s a horror movie and you know it’s going to be horrific but we both wish we’d been warned ahead of time how much this one deals with suicide. it was really good and i could probably write a lot on it but it was also quite heavy and hit really hard. the ending had us both nearly in tears. recommended but with that warning.

(we rewatched the menu afterward to bring the mood back up. good-ass movie.)

and last night!! we watched red white and royal blue! i read the book ages ago but bella and rose were both going in pretty much blind and i’m so pleased with how much they loved it. i think it was a good adaptation. they kept what made the book a good read (it’s just a little modern romantic fairy tale with two men) and i think they conveyed the vibes of the developing relationship well. the lads played the roles well and with a lot of heart and sincerity. let’s not try to force either of them to come out over it though please? also in that vein: i am afraid that the release of the film is going to revive The Discourse about the story, so this is a reminder that mcquiston wrote it around the 2016 election as a way to cope and escape to a better and more just world. they know what it is and what it says.

can’t remember what else i’ve watched besides quite a bit of black mirror. i’ve been kind of choosy with the episodes because i’m still fucking haunted by the first one!!! why did they do that!!!!! but i gotta say. sarah hawkinson on youtube was so right. nosedive might be the best episode of the whole thing. just flawless. I could watch that ending scene ten thousand times i love it so much. special shoutout to joan is awful which is another current fav. maybe if i get through the whole series i’ll do a full ranking.

oh. and still playing zelda. haven’t got another divine beast but have fought a looooot of lynels. now just going around trying so hard to get guardians to drop ancient cores. not a sign of a giant one yet and i need THREE MORE PLEASE COME ON.

it’s not so much that they didn’t care, but they didn’t know. all the decepticons suspected each other but it was too awkward to try and bring up so they all just kept their assumptions to themselves. meanwhile Blitzwing is over here sweating bullets and PRAYING that no one asks where Tiger came from

as for her living situation, it’s not really a joint custody situation. she just sees her sire whenever she goes with Blitzwing to their secret meetups, or she might see him if the autobots and decepticons have one of their weekly battles lmao (bee often gets distracted suring those because he is very concerned for her safety)

Shrike

- whats his relationship like with his creators?

pretty good for both Prowl and Lockdown! unfortunately, he doesn’t see Lockdown a lot(about twice a month at most) because his sire is always out taking jobs and hunting, but when Lockdown does come back he tends to stay for a while

- how are his ninja techniques?

they’re.... to be desired. but he gets some leeway considering that he isn’t being officially trained and is just trying to copy what Prowl does

- is he a quiet kid?

not necessarily quiet as in he doesn’t talk a lot, but he has an extremely soft voice that can barely be heard unless you’re right next to him. he also has extreme social anxiety(he just like me fr) so there’s a good chance that anyone new he meets won’t even get the chance to hear his voice

Nova

- does she have any pressure over being the next leader of the decepticons?

SO. MUCH. PRESSURE. but it’s mostly put on by herself. her sire cares for her deeply and doesn’t want to stress her out too much over that, especially since she’s still relatively young and Megatron is positive his reign will continue on for many more thousands of years. she still does her best to make him proud and prove herself worthy of leading the decepticons(even though megatron thinks that she could literally never do anything wrong ever(YES hes that kind of dad))

as for your last questions:

- do the three know each other? how is their relationship?

I’m actually writing a fic(maybe a comic? who knows) where the three meet each other at the same time, so I don’t want to spoil a lot. but Tiger and Shrike have actually known each other for quite a while! they both snuck out once when they were young sparklings and ended up finding each other in the woods. since then, they’ve seen each other a few times, and Tiger likes to think they’re friends

- does team prime know of their existence? how do they interact?

Team Prime knows all three of these kids, however their interactions vary a LOT

for Shrike, they obviously know of his parentage and his creators’ relationship and all of that since he was born at the plant and has lived there his whole life. they’re very protective of him, especially Ratchet, who doesn’t want him going anywhere outside of detroit without supervision.

as for Tiger, they know literally nothing about her. for all they know, she was just another decepticon who landed on earth to help Megatron. that doesn’t last long, as they do eventually put together that she’s a very young sparkling(just a little tall for her age), but they still have no clue who her parents are, let alone that her sire is one of them

now, Nova is... a mixed bag for them. since she’s been around the longest, most autobots such as the elite guard know who she is, who her parents are, and her position in the decepticon ranks. this makes her a very large target. Optimus is the only one who thinks there might be good in her(he sees her as a product of her environment

- will we see more of your ocs?

ABSOLUTELY! I have so many plans for the three of them, and I can’t wait to share more lore about them!

i feel like eitullia/otullia (i can’t decide on their ship name…either one doesn’t flow as well as tullisagi i’m afraid that’s so elite as a ship name) would be like a mix of bfb otoya’s version and fwtkac reader/karasu in that they have that sassy teasing dynamic that reader and karasu have in fwtkac but there’s also an element of clueless loserness to it all that’s specifically bfb otoya’s brand!! i honestly am very torn because they would be a vv cute couple but at the same time leaving reader and co as a platonic group kinda fits with the themes of the story…tbh i truly do think tullia’s ship might only be decided once i start writing because atm yukimiya and hiori (two options) only really show up in one arc each and while isagi does have many cameos he’s not as consistent as reader and co + manshine trio are so either i’ll give in and let eitullia be a thing OR i’ll stick with my tullisagi roots and just give them weird tension whenever he IS on screen or i’ll just have hiori/yukimiya make more appearances to build more of a relationship OR i’ll see if she’s vibing with chigiri or reo in the manshine trio + reader and co interactions (if you have any suggestions/if any of those options particularly stick out to you then lmk 😜)

i’m just gonna say this straight out: most of the men never really thought about having kids (save john and albert)

but when you finally had kids, william had a different outlook on life

like fr,, this man works overtime now trying to get rid of the filth that is called nobles

he doesn’t want his kids to be raised in a world where just because you have more money than another means you get to look down on them

he also tries to be very present in their lives since he and his brother were raised as orphans

louis rarely emotes but when you came into their lives, you got louis pissed at one point and everyone was like,,,, wtf?? he has emotions???

anyways, his answer is one kid LMAO

and when you get that one kid, he looks just like louis

yall already KNOW that he’s ready to die for that child as soon as louis holds him in his arms

the only kid sebastian wouldnt even try to mess with

he can deal with william’s albert’s or fred’s kids but louis lowkey intimidates him so he’s as nice as he can be

that being said, louis teaches his kid how to properly handle stuff around the house

you want to cry bc ur son is just so??? the little kid just loves helping out no matter how small the task and he’s just so cute it hurts

even sebastian’s kinda like,, “aight he’s the only kid i will tolerate”

louis grew up with only his brothers so he also wants to give his son a shot at a normal family

is actually aware at how he thinks he’s indispensable for william’s cause and he doesn’t want his son to end up like him

he also teaches his son some badass fighting moves

oh and louis smiles a lot more too

cried bc his son saw the scar he got on his cheek, rubbed some dirt on his lil face and said “i have daddy’s cool scar now”

Warnings: FLUFF with a slightly (barely) suggestive sentence towards the end

A/n: damn I can't write anything except actress reader? smh but this is for @londonspidey ‘s sit-com Writing challenge (ik I'm early lol) but I was so excited I wrote the whole thing in one go lmao the prompt is bolded!

Calling yourself a fan was an understatement. You were obsessed with anything and everything marvel. And oddly enough, you could after today say you were in the club. It wasn’t a public fact yet, until later that day actually, at the Marvel panel at comic con that you were being announced as the actress for the character, Felica Hardy and no one else knew except for the people who cast you and your best friend who signed an NDA. You were technically still a known actress for your roles on television mainly as Thalia on the PJO Disney + series and a couple of still decently sized films.

You were currently wrapping up signing autographs for fans of yours for today. Your team had planned it out so it wasn’t suspicious that you were at the con with a few of your castmates scattered doing other junkets and press so people wouldn’t guess who they were acting as the cast for new marvel projects.

You had been planning to go meet your best friend, who wasn’t in the industry before getting a text that she bought you both a photo-op with someone and she wouldn’t tell you who. You couldn’t only assume it was a marvel actor that you would indeed, freak out.

Y/b/n: btw I brought you a mask. I get the wig lol.

You: please tell me it doesn’t cover my full face. Also, how are we posing?

Y/b/n: I bought as many photo ops as I could so a lot of different ones, And if I tell you the poses it’ll spoil it.

You: is this with the money I pay you to be my assistant with? Lol fine I’m omw with security

Y/b/n: maybe…

Y/b/n: and they’ll need more backup security for who we’re getting a photo op with than you do for your hellfire.

You roll your eyes before taking your stuff and exiting the booth, before heading out the backways with staff security and your detailed security for the day. You only had security because you wanted to explore the con when you weren’t needed.

Your best friend had also been your assistant for the con weekend, but you didn’t want her to be confined to you the whole three days so when she could, you would let her explore it, at least she could experience it as a fan, right?

When you made it to that part of the building, you wanted to wait in line with her, which your security didn’t agree to so she texted you when there were about five people ahead of her. She was one of the last in line, with you asking her to be kind, so others would get their chance to be first with whomever it was.

When she texted you and your detailed exit, getting a few stares and others taking their phones out to either take photos or tweet, you wave at them before joining your best friend in line.

“Here,” she says before handing you none other than a black cat mask before she puts on a red wig.

You glare at her slightly trying to not make a scene, before putting it on.

“I’m assuming you're Mary Jane?” you laugh figuring out that it had to be someone from Spider-Man.

“How’d you- never mind.” She laughs with you.

She then explains how she’s going to pose for your five photo ops, joking in between how she should “get a raise for this”.

You catch sight of him before sucking in your breath. This was either going to go down amazingly or terribly, there was no in-between with you.

“Excuse Me, are you Y/n Y/l/n?”

You turn around and are met by some fans who were standing in line behind you.

“I am! How’s your con going?” you ask politely to the two of them.

“It's going amazing! We love you as Thalia! Could we maybe get a picture? Only if it’s okay?”

“Of course! Thank you for supporting me!” your best friend grabs their phone to take the photo, before you take off the mask, and stand between the two fans, and your best friend snaps a few photos.

“Thank you so much! And Are you fans of Tom?”

You start slowly walking back to catch up to the line.

“Yeah, I love him as Spiderman, but I also enjoy his other roles. He's very talented, I'd love to work with him one day!”

“Have you seen him in Uncharted? We love Him as Nathan drake!”

“I have, he was amazing per usual! How are you two posing with him?”

They show you their innovative pose. You laugh and tell them it's great before you have to wish them goodbye before heading up for your turn for the photo op.

“How do we want to pose- hang on, I recognize you!”

You freeze slightly before your friend mouths for you to flirt. You look down at the mask in your hand before getting into character and saying “Of course you do Spidey, I'm always causing you trouble.” you put on the mask and wink.

He seems slightly stunned, laughing, feeling like he’s seen you somewhere, not only because he found you extremely gorgeous, while in his peripheral vision he sees his brother/ assistant, Harry waving like a madman on the side.

Your friend directs you both through the poses, first, one both him putting “webs” onto you as she looks over his shoulder, the second one, both of you kissing his cheeks, the third, all jumping in the air in your best superhero poses, the fourth one she gets a photo op alone and the last one she gives to you,

“Seriously, who are you?”

“Your Wildest dreams, baby,” you say, taking off the mask.

Your best friend yells “freestyle” from the sidelines before Tom dips you, gently, with you shocked, holding the mask out with your free arm and the photo captures that moment.

He gently helps you stand back up fully, not before you drop the mask.

“Nice moves Spider-Man.”

“Not so bad yourself, Black Cat.”

You laugh before, taking off with your best friend, well more her dragging you to the printing station leaving the mask behind. Tom picks it up before shoving it in his back pocket to hopefully give back if he could find you.

`You were sitting in the green room, trending on Twitter before you were actually supposed to be trending on Twitter, and god knows where else.

Someone had snuck a video of you and Tom, up till him dipping you, and a video of you interacting with the fans in the line.

Your Y/b/n was currently reading off some tweets out loud

“‘A kind queen we stan.’ I agree, I also agree with ‘Date her if you can't date me tom!!!’.

‘THALIA AND PETER PARKER??? My two fandoms have collided.’ same, same. Oo this one says, ‘if she ain’t playing black cat I will sue marvel.’ I'm dying at the reply ‘She needs to post the photos or I'll sue her!’. This one’s funny, ‘she could squash him like a bug in heels but he liked his queen like that.’.”

She pauses watching you texting.

“Y/n? Y/n?”

“What? Sorry I was only half listening. I was texting my publicist. She said to stay on the DL until tonight.

“Well we should get food, you haven't eaten since this morning.”

“By the way, your show has shot to number one on Disney +. Also, you have like three times the followers you had before, probably cause you're trending on every platform, even Tumblr!”

“Wow you should just become my social media manager now.” you joke trying to ease the joy yet weirded out feeling in your stomach.

“Does that come with a raise? Because after today I've spent way too much of what I'm paid.” she jokes back.

After finishing his photo ops Tom asked Harry who she was and to find out. By the time he finished autographs for the day, Tom and Harry walked to the panel room in the back for announcements, one that included him for the new Avengers movie, while Harry gave him the rundown.

“So she’s an actress, she plays Thalia on Disney plus’ Percy Jackson series, and that's her most known project. The other girl with her is her assistant best friend, and now she's trending everywhere. People dug up some old photos of her being a marvel/Spider-Man fan, so there's that. And she's here at the con for the rest of the weekend. She's doing photo ops tomorrow at one, and yes she's single from what I gather since you were looking at her like this.” he makes a weird face before tom smacks him.

“And plus you have time in your schedule to get a photo op with her, that is if you eat lunch quickly.”

That gave Tom an idea.

“Harry I’m going to need you to book me one, oh and help me find a Spider-Man costume!” He says, before leaving harry to do ‘assistant’ work. entering the green room for the announcements, watching them announce a new movie.

“We are so excited to announce to the Marvel Universe, and spider-verse-” that perked tom’s ears, “-directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, and today we are announcing our amazing Miss Felicia Hardy, please give a warm welcome to the stage, Your Black Cat!”

You suddenly emerged in an aisle way, dressed in all black with a leather jacket, black ankle boots, and of course black sunglasses indoors.

The music is marvel music until it suddenly changes after a recorded laugh from you into “I can’t be tamed by Miley Cyrus”.

You start owning the music while saying hi and touching fans’ hands. You decide to take off your sunglasses and throwing them to a fan, for them to keep, before getting on stage.

“What a Performance from the one the only Y/n Y/l/n!”

You laugh, being met with the loudest applause you had heard all con before being handed a Mic.

“Thank you but I'm a terrible dancer.” You Joke.

Tom was staring at the screen stunned. You had been the black cat all along. You were in the marvel universe and spidey one, so he'd definitely be seeing more of you. The hard part is that you seemed so genuine when you talked, interacted with fans and was no doubt, stunning.

“Better close your mouth or the flies will get in.” Tom turns around to find the voice of none other than his friend slash bully, Sebastian Stan, along with Anthony Mackie.

“Looks like the kid has a crush!” Anthony laughs, pointing to the screen you were on.

“I-I don’t! I don’t even know her!” Tom tries to come to his own defense, hopelessly.

“She’s got you whipped already don’t even deny it.” Harry comes in, joining the teasing of one, Tom Holland.

“Maybe we can invite her out for drinks tonight, then fanboy over here can meet her, and then probably scare her off!” Anthony mentions.

“You haven’t looked on the internet? They’ve already met.” Seb says, before showing Anthony twitter.

Anthony stands there slightly shocked before bursting into laughter.

“Well, she’s damn well a keeper for Tom since she obviously likes him.”

A staff member peaks their head in the green room to tell Tom he’s up next.

“Well, that’s my cue to leave you two!”

On the other hand, you were on an adrenaline high from being on stage, and seeing all the fans. You knew tomorrow was going to be crazy, as you expected people to book your photo op left and right since the announcement.

You had decided to decline an offer from your fellow marvel universe castmates, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, which they so graciously told you that whenever you’re free, the offer still stood.

You had gotten to your hotel room seeing your phone blowing up on the social media apps for the second time that day.

You responded to the important stuff, before heading to bed, knowing it was going to be hectic.

You had been right, it was absolutely insane, the number of people who showed up. You had fully booked all your time slots for photo ops. You had seen so many people dressed up in marvel cosplay, ranging from Loki to Ironman, even some people dressed up as your character, which was wildly insane to see.

You had been nearing the end of the line and had enjoyed every moment with the fans, and you couldn’t wait for your autographing session later that day, to truly get a chance to talk to the fans and connect with them and how they felt about you being their beloved Black Cat.

After a few more photos, posing how they wanted, you see a fully dressed, head to toe, mask and all, Spider-Man. You had seen some spider-mans but most took off their masks to snap a picture. The person was the last in line.

“Hey Black Cat.” The southern American accented voice tells you, seeming very familiar.

“Hey, Spider, what poses do you have up your sleeve?” you ask kindly.

“I bought a few, Cat.” they laugh.

“Okay, You can do whatever a spider can right?” you pull out a line out of the comics jokingly.

“I can do flips if that’s what you’re asking.”

“Is that some kind of nerd pick-up line? Because it’s only kind of working.” you laugh.

“I really can, but this is one.”

He gets down on one knee, holding a black cat mask instead of a ring. The photographer captures the shocked expression on your face.

“I- Don’t- What- Spider I-”

“Ow My feelings…” Suddenly their voice changes into a British accent before they pull off the mask to reveal-

“Tom?”

“I guess you don’t have a spidey sense darling?” The photographer captures the moment without warning eating the moment up.

You laugh at that.

“I guess you found out my true identity Spider. And it’s nice to officially meet you, Tom.”

He laughs, just as nervous as you, he notices he has gotten closer to you and a strand of hair loosely is blowing in your face, so naturally, he pushes it behind your ear. Another snap of the camera can be heard.

“NOW KISS!” a voice belonging to your best friend yells from the side, mid-eating a churro.

You both laugh really hard at that.

The both of you calm down, slowly leaning lost in the moment. The camera snaps again. You both look at the photographer weirded out, and they just shrug.

“Wait can you actually do a flip?” you ask, pulling away, not wanting prying eyes aka the photographer, to pry in your business.

“I can, though I’d show you later, maybe in the greenroom?”

“That sounds naughty, but, sure.” you joke around.

He laughs before, you both take off from the area going to grab the photos.

After spending most of the day together when you could, you get Tom’s number, before heading back to your hotel room. He texts you as soon as you get back.

Spider: I had fun today, minus finding our assistants making out.

You: we should ‘snog’ too, it’ll gross them out ;)

You: I had fun too btw. Are you leaving tomorrow?

Spider: lol we should. And yeah an early flight, 6 am to be exact. Hbu?

You: Yeah me too... another day another dollar lol

Spider: ill miss you, Cat.

You: stop talking like we’ll never see each other again lol. As a matter of fact, come to my room, we’re watching a movie!

Spider: alright, I’ll order snacks.

You sigh smiling at your phone. You haven’t felt this giddy in a long time.

Your phone pings with a few Instagram notifications.

Tomholland2013 has started following you.

Tomholland2013 has tagged you in a photo.

You open Instagram to find the photo of him “proposing” to you posted.

“Ow, my leg, my- feelings...Welcome to the Universe, Cat.” the photo is captioned. You decide to post, the photo of him dipping you.

“So what do you say, Spider? Wanna help me pull off the Heist of the Heist of the Century?” you caption it, Before getting comfortable to watch a movie.

What an opportunity ;)

“Hm, I don’t know Tanizaki. I think Naomi would want to hear about this.”

You almost felt bad for teasing your best friend/crush. Almost.

But when you discovered that he accidentally dropped Naomi’s piece of cake that she’s been raving about for the whole week, you saw this as the perfect opportunity to mess with him. You just knew that she would be pissed and ready to draw blood at whoever touched it (you knew as she threatened both you and her own brother), so seeing that Tanizaki was the one at fault had you both breathing a sigh of relief and plotting something downright devious.

“Wait (Y/N) don’t tell her! I can run and get her another one!”

“Don’t you think that she’ll notice? And that was the last one until they make some more tomorrow, and she’s planning on eating it today because it’s the weekend! Before you ask, there is no way in hell I’m taking the blame. Didn’t you see her eyes when she told us about the cake? She had flames in them, Zaki. Flames!”

“I’ll do anything, just don’t tell her!”

“Anything?”

Tanizaki was this close to begging you on his knees to not say a word to his beloved sister, when he saw that look appear across your face. The look that will lead to nowhere good, the look that dropped him even deeper into despair. He knew you long enough that that look was trouble.

He gulped.

He hated to see his sister upset, but was it about to be worth whatever you scheme you were planning? He asked himself that and already knew the answer.

Of course it’s worth it. If it means to keep a frown off of his sister’s face, then anything is worth it. Plus, he knew that you wouldn’t go overboard, you’re his best friend, one of the closest people to him (besides from Naomi of course), and someone that he is desperately in love with-

“How about a kiss?”

He nodded his head, all excited and relieved. Then he fully processed your words and nearly choked.

A kiss?! From him?! Is he dreaming? Is this all really happening? Now he’s not exactly a newbie when it comes to kissing, but with you, it’s different, he wants it to be different, because you’re different. He doesn’t think that he ever felt like this before with anyone but you (as cliche as it sounds, but it’s true!), so he doesn’t want to waste this opportunity on something silly like this...

“Fine.”

You were too busy trying to gauge his reactions and not throw up your lunch to really understand what he said. “Huh?”

“I said fine! If that’s what it takes to keep Naomi happy and if it means I can finally kiss you then fine! I accept!”

“W-wait Tanizaki! I was just playing-“

He was getting too close for comfort, trapping you against the wall (is he kabedoning you?! Where did this confidence comes from?!), your arms paralyzed in the air, torn between keeping them at your sides or locking them behind his neck, bringing them in closer. “But that’s what you want, right? If that’s what it takes, then so be it.”

You really were just joking, somewhat. Of course you wanted to kiss him, his lips are on your mind at an alarming rate throughout the day, but you didn’t want to blackmail him into it. You would have never thought that he would actually agree to it! Is he really okay with this?!

“Tanizaki, you don’t have to do this seriously! I don’t want you to do anything you’re not okay with!”

“Oh but I am okay with this.”

“But-“

You didn’t have time to even think of what to say.

Tanizaki is kissing you. Your longtime crush, the guy that you’re deeply in love with, is kissing you.

And damn is he a good kisser.

You felt your eyes slide shut and your arms lock around his neck as he dropped his arms and wrapped them around your waist, bringing you closer and deepening the kiss. The time you spent imagining this moment was nothing like the real thing, this was much better. You started to doubt that he had this side to him, that he only reserved this type of intensity for whenever his sister when she’s threatened, but you were more than happy to be proven wrong. To be the one bringing this out of him has your head spinning.

You could even feel his tongue swiping at your bottom lip, his hand sliding lower-

Someone cleared their throat.

You both jumped away when you turned and saw Naomi standing in the doorway, eyes narrowed and face flushed, tapping her foot against the floor.

Shit.

Well, this is awkward.

The twins have shown how protective they are of each other, and you don’t think she’s okay with the fact that you’re making out with her older and only brother.

“O-oh hey Naomi”, you wanted to laugh when you heard his voice crack, but you kept it in after seeing her scowl. “What are you doing home s-so early?”

“They got done with the case early and said I was good to go”, she gritted through her teeth. “And I was ready to eat my cake but my appetite has been spoiled after seeing you shove your tongue down (Y/N)’s throat!”

Oh boy, this is really awkward. You didn’t even begin to know what to say. Your mouth just constantly opened and closed, gaping like a fish. But it seemed that you didn’t have to worry about it as she stomped away, huffing and puffing.

“Whatever! The only thing that’s saving you two from me is the fact that you finally confessed! Geez, I don’t have to keep hearing about ‘what if they don’t like me back’ or anymore of this lovestruck stuff. I gush over people too, but even you guys were giving me a headache with how pitiful you guys were.”

Okay, being read by her was not expected, but you guessed you deserved it, and on the plus side, it seemed that you weren’t alone in your romantic struggle and she accepted it!

“I’m going to hang out with Haruno, you lovebirds call me when you’re done. Just don’t do anything in the kitchen or in my room, and please use protection-“

“NAOMI-“

“Kidding, notreallybye~”

She shut the door before Tanizaki could protest anymore. The air was tense, until you couldn’t hold it anymore. You burst out laughing, while he just tried to ramble out an apology/excuse until he cracked a smile at you.

“Well, Zaki? Wanna pick up where we left off at? I surely do.”

“YES! I-I mean”, he cleared his throat. “Only if you’re okay with that. But I wouldn’t mind too.”

“Lead the way.”

He grabbed your hand and gently lead you to his room at a quick pace, eager just as you are to continue.

Bonus:

It still amazes you at how quick Junichiro can change, one minute being able to steal your breath away and the next gently caressing you while whispering how much he adores you. Life is great with Junichiro by your side, both as a best friend and even better as a lover.

You both almost dozed off until you heard the door slam back open again.

“Juni, are you home? You have to tell me everything with what happened with (Y/N), minus the explicit details of course- wait. Why is my slice of cake IN THE TRASH!”

Both of your eyes snapped open. You’ve guys been so...occupied that you forgot to take out the trash. Whoops.

I think the problem is that both Bakugo and Endeavor were good villains. At the very least, Todoroki’s dad was a REALLY good villain, because he was shown to abuse a literal 5 yo (I think?) child and he literally drove his wife to insanity (I don’t say that she is not to blame about what happened to Shoto, but at least I can understand that she wasn’t mentally well when she hurt her son).

I swear to god Horikoshi just stole this whole “number one hero that is loved by a lot of ppl and is considered a good guy turns about to be a deranged abuser in his normal life” bit from tiger and bunny and then just separated this one character into two (All Might and Endeavor).

Like I don’t say that it was a bad idea to do it, but at least COMMIT PLEASE.

Also, I will never get over the fact that Bakugo will never be called out on his bullshit, bc then it will be revealed to everyone that Deku was quirkless (after all that was one of the reasons why Midoriya was bullied). Baku can just say “sorry”, but still remain rude, loud and Obnoxious and this is fine, I guess?

Also, let me just say this. If the whole point of redemption of these two characters was to show that shitty people are rarely called out on their bullshit irl, that abusers live happily while their victims left to try and recover themselves, and just in general that life is unfair it would have been one thing. Like, you know, “the world keeps going even when you was wronged/hurt and you can’t do anything about it, learn to live with it and move on”. But the thing is. ITS NOT THE POINT. ITS JUST HORIKOSHI’S SHITTY WRITING. Ugh, I’m really angry :/

You know I think one of the reasons why I am so angry at Bakugo and Endeavor while I don’t really care about other villains as much is because:

1) they are heroes. They are supposed to be GOOD people or at least someone you wouldn’t want to stab in real life. But even though both of them want to be/ARE pro heroes they both do some VERY fucked up shit and don’t feel bad about… like, bro. Isn’t that… unhealthy? Where is your sympathy? Why do you want to be the literal representation of “good” in your world if you don’t even see that your actions are foul and villainous?

And 2) because it’s way easier to meet people like Bakugo and Enji irl than people like Dabi, Toga and Tomura. Like, sure, there are a lot of evil, deranged people out there, but for majority of us we will be lucky enough to NEVER meet an actual murderer/terrorist even once in our life. Bullies and domestic abusers, though? This shit is everywhere and you simply can’t ignore it. I’ve seen people, who, just like Deku, liked their bullies and thought of them as their friends and that was shitty, angering and heart breaking. I know people who were abused by their parents/partners. And that is exactly why I despise both of these characters so much. They are just too real, and at the beginning they are shown to be as great villains, but now author just tries to do every thing to excuse their past actions to the point of literally rewriting the story to help these characters to look less shitty. Like bro. BRO. Just stop.

Also, while I know that Bakugo not even half as bad as Enji (bc, you know… he didn’t abuse his wife and kids… YET lmao), but he was bullying Deku bc of his own big fat ego. He doesn’t even have any good reasons to be a bully like “oh he have a shitty home life” or some shot like this. He is the only child in the full family, I suppose that his family doesn’t struggle, he is also very popular with his peers and smart, I suppose (how can HE be smart is beyond me, but oh well…) and he also have a very strong quirk… in other words, he is just a spoiled, gross kid who is hypocritical to an unhealthy level, who lacks sympathy and doesn’t understand that his actions might have either killed or destroy someone’s life… our heroic Bakugo, everybody

Yeah Shoto was 5... I remember this because I remember Rei crying after Endeavor punches him and saying 'hes only 5' and Endeavor responding with 'no hes already 5' and smacks her like I guess thats past the perfect time to punch your child so hard in the stomach they throw up...

Yeah with Rei Im not bothered at all with how she was handled in that moment because she clearly suffered some psychotic break when she attacked her son and then immediately appologized and tried to help... and she was punished for it. Which is a reasonable story bit... however Endeavors 'redemption/attonment' arc never included her... like he never went to see her that entire time and she had to come to him? Absolute garbage.

LMAO Oh yeah... the guys son was a blue fire guy too wasnt he? ... well hey now. His whole ordeal as a vigilante was an awful lot like Stains thing too who Dabi was inspired by.... now you might be onto something nonny! LMFAO

But YES Horikoshi has a hard time committing to anything he starts... even Stain looks a bit like a chump because of Horikoshi never following through with any corrupt heroes...

LMAO Dekus secret already did get out and no one said anything... I mean Bakugo DID technically apologize finally but hes still being an obnoxious ass even now because he can never change because hes the most popular character and his shitty personality is what people like (presumably).

Yeah its definitely not about reflecting any reality... not when all the important good guy characters whos opinions we should care about all dismiss Endeavors past even though they should have no say in it.

1- I actually dont mind the idea that heroes can be bad people... characters having different motivations for why they become heroes is fine money fame w/e... its fine... but its not written well.

Bakugo is the worst with this because he does want to be a hero but he never like reflects on how shitty his behavior is like when he set that bomb off in Dekus face or like how he doesnt seem bothered that Shiga and the crew think he'd make a good villain... if he really wanted to be a hero youd think he'd at least have some moments where he questioned the shitty things he does and tried to do better. But Horikoshi doesnt seem to want anyone (including Bakugo) to admit what a piece of shit Bakugo is so he can never grow from it and now its kind of too late so... just let him jump in front of a bullet and say sorry and continue to be a prick no questions asks... sure. W/e.

2. Yeah The LOV are a bit too cartoony(which is causing its own problems now that Hori is trying to make them seem deeper than they were Togas especially bad.) but Horikoshis writing with them hasnt been great either. Shiga gets some good shit but hes also a meat puppet for AFO so...

It makes sense to hate Bakugo and Endeavor because they feel more real... and they could have had a good story if Horikoshi wasnt so flaky in his writing.

GOD YES. Bakugo not even having a reason to be as shitty as he is really just adds to it... like at least Sasukes whole family was murdered... still a dick but at least in the beginning he was relatively understandable that he might not have been in the mood for bullshit around him.

Bakugo is just another shitty guy whos violent because things arent going exactly the way that he wanted, constantly inconvenienced that other people are living without him being the center of attention. So tragic.

We’ve finally got Mammon and Luke! I’ve done Simeon, Barbatos (with a slight Lucifer), Asmo, Satan and MC so the rest of the cast is def gonna be interesting to write! I hope I’ll be able to write Belphie... that guy’s a menace to write because I actually haven’t gotten past Lesson 6 yet :D

But I’ve been spoiled enough to know the basics of his personality so go me ig.

“Hey, what are you- Mammon?” Luke said. The demon looked like he didn’t want anyone to see that he was crying and ran to the closest room he could find. He even locked the door.

“Fido? Ugh, just my crap excuse for luck,” Mammon grumbled as he tried to wipe his tears, which was failing since he was tearing up too much. Luke immediately walked towards him and sat down beside him, taking his hand and squeezed his hand softly, rubbing his thumb in a pattern he used all the time when Simeon was stressed. Mammon didn’t say anything about it, and that was concerning enough. Even though Luke disliked demons, he couldn’t just leave them helpless after all!

“Just- let it out, alright?” Luke told Mammon awkwardly, although the older didn’t seem to notice it and cried harder. Luke glanced around before he let go of Mammon’s hand and just went to hug him. He felt the Mammon freeze for a moment before he slumped a bit against Luke. The angel had a lot of experience with comforting creatures and beings since he was born when everyone was still grieving after “the war”.

“Do you... wanna talk about it?” Luke asked as Mammon was cooling down. Luke didn’t let go of him of course, he waited if the other wanted to do that himself but Mammon made no move to do so.

“I just - ugh,” Mammon groaned as he finally let go of Luke and leaned against the wall. “Everything’s just been so complicated! I feel like I’m alone all the time!”

Luke paused for a moment before moving to sit down beside Mammon. “You’re alone, so what? You can’t always rely on others to help you feel better if you are THAT determined to feel gloomy!”

“I am alone, Fido. I have nothing at this point!” Mammon remarked in annoyance.

“Are you that blind?” Luke scoffed, which made Mammon widened his eyes since he had never seen the angel like that. “Did you forgot what you have and what is yours or something! You have your brothers! And MC!”

“But, I - they wouldn’t be able to understand! Even if they did, they’d probably think I’m over-reacting or something. I’m just so fucked up,” Mammon sighed.

“You’ve got to count your blessings, not your flaws,” Luke retorted.

“You don’t get it, do you?” Mammon hissed. “I’m so fucked up, I don’t have a single good thing in life! Sure, MC might be something good but they’re gonna leave one day! Nothing ever stays.”

“No, YOU don’t get it, Mammon,” snapped Luke and the demon just stared at him in disbelief. “You’re too wrapped up in that self-doubt of yours! I can’t help you if you don’t want to listen! You’re feeling miserable and you’re wanting to stay that way! You’re still young, I’m young too! There’s so much more you can do, so get out there and stop being so gloomy!”

“I- Luke, it feels embarrassing for a kid to try and help me,” Mammon laughed wetly.

The angel harrumphed in annoyance and blew out a strand of hair that fell on his face. “If you think about it, this all makes sense! After all, there’s no logic in your sadness if I’m being honest. You don’t gain a single thing from misery!” Luke exclaimed. “Take it from me...”

Mammon stared once more at Luke as the younger added that. Luke glanced away before looking into Mammon’s eyes, his own filled with bittersweet comfort which looked so wrong on a child.

“Sure, you aren’t perfect but no one is. You’ve got so much, but you lost your mind in the sound so that you forget who you are! There’s so much more you can look forward to, and maybe - no, you WILL feel happy again! You’re in control of you’re own feelings, and if you can’t get rid of those monsters in your head,” Luke bravely poked Mammon’s head which earned an annoyed look from the other. “I’ll help you! MC and your brothers will too! That way we can put all your faults to bed! And I’m sure then you’d feel like you’re a king! You’re gonna be happy!”

Mammon stayed silent, flustered by the speech from the angel before giving him a smile. “Looks like you’re more than a chihuahua, I guess,” Mammon teased as he ruffled Luke’s hair which made the younger gasp in annoyance.

“You know what? I regret helping you,” Luke grumbled out in defeat and Mammon laughed which made Luke lighten up a bit, although he wouldn’t admit it.

“Come on, I’ll treat you to food if you won’t tell anyone about this,” Mammon said as he got up, holding out his hand to Luke.

The younger stared at the hand for a moment before accepting it.

“Fine. But you owe me so much more that that, you demon!”

Okay, so, how was that? Hopefully it was good enough lmao I ran out of ideas for Mammon’s side of the conversation. Little therapist Luke had to deal with many distressed creatures before and he was like ‘Oh fuck I’m everyone’s emotional support angel now’.

Author’s Note: I hope you like this love! I ended up thinking it was pretty good and I had a soft spot for Harry and was kind of excited to write something for him lol. Enjoy!

Requested: by anon, Okay so maybe meeting harry after beths big win, they went out to celebrate and the reader meets him and they talk about chess and he says he’ll teach them some more “professional moves” (yes its chess flirting im just a big nerd)

There was something electric in the air. You had just heard that Beth Harmon had won an immense title, something you didn’t think was possible for a woman. You felt empowered in your chess hobby and in yourself. She was inspiring.

So you decided to go out and celebrate by yourself. Maybe just one or two drinks that you could treat yourself with, to really boost that confidence and happiness you were riding. When you got to the bar you noticed that it was pretty packed already. Surprisingly so. Not everyone there was going to celebrate Harmons win, you assured yourself, as you walked up to a empty seat at the bar counter.

Behind you was Benny Watts, and his friends, among them Harry Beltik. You didn’t notice them as you ordered your first drink and you continued to be oblivious to their existence. You were alone at the bar and happy to have a couple drinks that way. No need to spoil your mood with a man.

But Harry had noticed you the second you walked in. There was something very regal about you he couldn’t put his finger on. He had spent so long being in awe of Beth Harmon that he figured no other women would compare. Now, after she had won the biggest title she ever could, he found himself thinking about other things.

She surely would come back and rekindle whatever feelings she and Benny had. He found himself at peace with that. He tried not to blame it on the fact that you had just walked in and whoever you were, you had caught his attention. Harry figured you surely weren’t there to celebrate Beth’s winning but even if you were just there for a drink, he could try his hand at seeing what you were up to.

Benny noticed Harry’s gaze and hit him on the back.

“I was going to ask you to a round of speed chess but I don’t think you would win. Considering you are going to go and flirt with that girl.” He paused. “You are, aren't you?” Harry looked down, frazzled.

“I thought I might,” he said honestly, returning his gaze to Benny.

“Well go then! And try not to make any chess jokes.” Harry rolled his eyes and stood up, more out of peer pressure then anything else. He walked over slowly, trying to figure out what on Earth he was going to say.

You had gotten a glass and was sipping on it leisurely when Harry walked up. You looked over at him and gave him a polite smile. He was silent for far too long but luckily, you had something to say.

“Aren’t you Harry Beltik?” He was surprised you noticed him.

“I-uh-yeah.” You smiled and put down your drink.

“Are you here to celebrate Beth Harmons win too? Or is it just a coincidence,” you said with a small smile. He felt suddenly like this was the best decision he had ever made. You knew him and you knew of Beth.

“I am, actually. I came here with a couple friends, we helped her study,” he explained. You raised your eyebrows and followed his gaze.

“Oh my gosh that’s Benny Watts!” you said quietly. Harry felt then that he had made a mistake. He shouldn’t have shown you that Benny was there, considering the fact that Benny was much more attractive then he was. He should have let that one perfect moment last.

“Yeah it is,” Harry said quietly. You looked back over at him, joy on your face.

“I’ve seen you play some tournaments. I’m not all that good myself but I like to come and watch. It’s so intense,” you said and just like that the fact that Benny was there was lost on you. The man sitting beside you stood up to leave and Harry immediately took his spot.

“You know I could give you some lessons sometimes if you’re ever into learning more,” he said. You raised your eyebrow.

“What kind of lessons?” you asked.

“Just some...professional moves,” he said and there was a smile on his lips when he said it. You gave him a fond look. Your eyes were gleaming.

“Bartender? Get this man a drink.”

You and Harry talked all night. You talked about chess and Beth and tournaments and your lives. He even told you that he and Beth used to be involved. You didn’t seem to mind it. In fact you thought it was decently cool. You never pried him for details and you were always respectful of his boundaries.

Perfect.

In other words, you were perfect.

Benny and the guys left to play some speed chess pretty early into the night. Benny wanted to call Beth and see how she was doing. When the bar started to close and the employees kicked you out, you started to walk along the sidewalk together.

“You wanna play some chess?” he asked. You smiled.

“Of course.”

3H and Bleach: Where the Fuck am I

So, I’m finally hunkering down and trying to write out this post lmao. I’ve mentioned here and there how my personal experience with the 3H’s fandom is similar to my experience with the Bleach fandom’s in more than one way, and - look. Like, I get there’s definitely a semi-universal thing that goes on across all fandoms. I don’t mean for this to say that this only happens within these two fandoms, because duh, of course they don’t. But!! This post is partly me wanting to air years long annoyance towards the Bleach fandom that just so happens to coincide with my feelings towards the 3H fandom, sooo... yeah lmao

I’ll probably be skimming over some bits about 3H, since most people who come across this will already be familiar with what I’d be talking about in that regard vs Bleach, so just a heads up

Note: This is gonna talk about Bleach which will spoiler territory (writing this off the cuff so not sure where this is goin’ yet lmao but I know that much), so if you don’t wanna see that then don’t read this post lol, I know for sure I’ll be spoiling something ahhhh... noticeable, lol

Ableism against the mentally ill

Now, most people reading this post will be familiar with the blog and how this very, very much applies to 3H, but for the sake of this post I’ll lay it out anyway with a brief summary

Dimitri and Rhea are both characters within 3H that suffer from severe trauma that heavily impacts their mental state. Both are the sole survivors of a horrific slaughter, with that slaughter redefining who they are and leaving a permanent marker within their minds in some way (Dimitri with having auditory and visual hallucinations, Rhea with having obsessive tendencies towards bringing her mother back from the dead). Specifically in CF, both characters are set up in the plot as antagonists, with both characters having to relive their trauma in some way due to the actions Byleth and Edelgard take against them (for Dimitri, having his home be razed to the ground and everyone he cares for dying around him, for Rhea having someone use her mother’s mutilated remains be used to end her and her race) and express extreme anger towards Byleth and Edelgard before they are killed to progress/end the story

Now, uh, sad shit right? Not exactly fuckin’ happy sunshine rainbows. These two characters are put through the wringer and are then murdered. They are rightfully not the fuckin’ happiest because of what happened to them before and what happens to them within the present story. But we’ve heard it all before: “They were crazy!” “They couldn’t be reasoned with!” “They had to be put down out of mercy because they were too ~far gone~ to live happily!” “They needed to be killed for the good of everyone!” It’s an extremely ableist rhetoric that gets passed around the fandom as though it’s totally fine to directly state that mentally ill people should be put down if they’re deemed a “lost cause.” Especially worrying because. You know. If they are a “”””lost cause”””” then it’s directly and specifically because of actions Byleth and Edelgard take against them.

But how does this remind me of Bleach? What kind of similar extreme, worrying ableism exists there? Well, let me introduce to best girl a certain character with... a reputation, to say the least:

Meet Momo Hinamori.

Holy shit it’s so weird writing this out because I’ve been wanting to for years but have never worked up the nerve to do it lol

It should be noted, in the Bleach verse there’s two worlds out of three - Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, though I’ll only be talking of the former - that deal with “souls” (the essence within a living human). Souls age far more slowly than human bodies do in terms of body, not necessarily the mind (so a teenage soul will likely behave as such for a long while) so keep in mind that I’m going to be using numbers that may seem weird to someone who hasn’t seen Bleach lol. With that out of the way, here’s a similar, if longer for context to those who haven’t seen Bleach, summary for Momo’s character as it relevant to this post:

Momo is a character in Bleach that grows a deep admiration towards Sosuke Aizen, a respected captain of the military force called the Gotei 13. She comes to views him as the most important person in her world due to him both noticing and paying direct attention to her as well as saving her and her friends’ lives during a training mission gone wrong while she was younger. Note that “younger” here means 40 years ago from the start of the story. Aizen would praise her all the time, allow her to sleep over in his quarters, would drape his cloaks over her when she looked cold, and would overall treat Momo as though he was his daughter for most of the time we see them interact in the beginning portions of the show. Note that none of this is sexual in nature, nor is it ever implied to be seen as such. That’ll be important later in this post

To make a long story short, Aizen comes to betray her. He stabs her through the chest and shows and tells her that she never meant anything to him, throughout the 40 years they’ve known each other (which, mind, for a soul Momo’s approximate age 40 years is still a noticeable amount of time), and he was only using her to help bolster his image as a loveable captain so that he can hide his plan from everybody that much easier. He did horrible things to Momo - from setting her alarm clock back to a later time so that she would more likely come across his pinned, bloody fake corpse. to framing her childhood friend for the apparent murder and tricking her into fighting that friend, to far later in the series tricking that friend into stabbing her (hypnosis shit, to sum that up) for literally no stated reason - that ended up mentally breaking her. She couldn’t believe that the last four decades were all nothing but lies and she fell into a deep denial about Aizen’s true nature - someone else made him do everything he did, she must have missed something that would have warned her about Captain Aizen’s unfortunate situation that forced Captain Aizen to hurt her and everyone else. This denial would take the majority of Bleach’s entire runtime for her to get over completely, with her having hiccups in her recovery even as she works up the nerve to fight him.

Now, uh, also not the fuckin’ funnest of times to be had here. The deep, long-running mental and psychological manipulation of what approximates as a teenage girl from a trusted older figure is something that is very clearly horrific and bad of the older figure, right? Like, we’re on the same page here on that?

This wouldn’t be in this post if that was the case. No, Momo was the one constantly on fire for what happened to her. She was one of the most hated characters in the western audience, and there were endless jokes about “lol look at Momo, the pincushion!” “Crazy bitch Momo, better watch out!” making fun of her and her trauma relentlessly. If you managed to find a Momo fan in the early 2000′s you should have also bought a lotto ticket because holy fuck, everyone hated her. She acted in a startlingly real if deeply uncomfortable way in regards to years long manipulation and she was lambasted for it. She didn’t immediately get over decades long psychological abuse and she was called useless, weak, a horrible representation of female characters, stupid - you name it, she was likely called it. To this day I still tense up when I hear that someone likes Bleach and they mention Momo at all because I’m always thinking “does this person think this abuse victim is dumb for being abused?”

Dimitri, Rhea, and Momo are all victim-blamed to a disgusting degree in the 3H and Bleach fandoms. Dimitri and Rhea are always hit with “well if Dimitri hadn’t have fought back against Edelgard/Rhea caused the “”tyranical systems” in the first place, nothing would have happened to them!” and Momo was constantly hit with” well, it’s not Aizen’s fault Momo was so clingy to him, what could he have done!” and I get so fuckin’ mad dude.

But for Dimitri and Momo specifically, there’s one thing in particular that caught my attention:

The “Rejection Theories”

This had my head spinnin’ a bit when I first heard it, cuz I had managed to avoid the theory for a while in the 3H’s fandom, but apparently a sizeable amount of people seem to believe that Dimitri wasn’t just mad at Edelgard in the Holy Tomb because of... you know *waves hand* fuckin’ everything, but that the primary reason for his anger was that Edelgard... rejected his advances to her? And that the dagger he gave to her when they were 13 was a phallic symbol of baby Mitri’s want to have sex with Edelgard? And. Like. What in the fuck are you talking about.

But like?? Bleach did this shit too with Momo?? It was also a sizeable amount of people - not everyone, but a noticeable amount - that believed that Momo was just mad that Aizen wouldn’t sleep with her? You’d see it pop up in fics so often, that Momo would want Aizen to fuck her and she’d “go crazy” when he denied her and Momo was actually just this shallow bitch who wanted a good fuck like... what.

Like, when I first heard the Phallic Dagger take the first thing that came to mind is “wait Momo was also accused of just wanting to have sex with the person who traumatized her wtf”

“Actually it was the perpetrators that should be forgiven because lonely and also some shit about ruling better”

Those in the 3H fandom know how often the “Edelgard was lonely!” line gets thrown by just about every one of her stans. Edelgard was lonely and couldn’t trust anyone, so of course she did what she did! If she had someone near her she could trust she wouldn’t have acted like she does in the rest of the game! Nevermind that she “gets” this in CF in the form of Byleth and still acts just as shittily as she does in the other routes, or how being a little lonely doesn’t fuckin’ mean you get to start war. But anyway, we also hear that Edelgard was justified in doing what she did because her ruling Fodlan would have lead to more peace in the end, once she got rid of the power structures in place now (except that doesn’t happen but whatev I guess lmao)

Aizen? He was lonely too! He was far too strong for anyone to truly be able to understand him, and so he tragically fell down a dark path. If he had known someone who could be considered an equal to him he would have never done all the horrible things he did. And the Soul Society is unjust! It needs to be reformed! So him slaughtering hundreds of thousands of souls at the minimum to harvest all of their power to use as his own is justified because it’ll be used to create a more just society under his rule!

Like. Y’all. Lowkey? I’m so fuckin’ glad Edelgard proved herself to be just as fuckin’ awful with Byleth as without because this shit drove me up the fuckin’ wall back in the day. There was 0 ways to prove that Aizen would damn sure be just as fuckin’ bad if he had an “”equal”” to stand by him than if he didn’t, and I get to kinda be right because without fundamentally changing these characters’ backstories they would not give two flying shits about whether or not they had someone “equal to them” (which is still kinda degrading to think about anyway).

Now, this is where I move away to a different topic lol

A split in the narrative cause divides in the fandom

With 3H houses this is really fuckin’ easy to point at: there’s 4 routes, three consistent stories and one radically different story, and that difference in story causes heavy contention within the fandom. It’s very obvious so I won’t go over it much.

But how in the fuck is there a divide in Bleach? It’s not a fuckin’ Choose Your Own Adventure manga, it’s an anime and manga showing off the characters of Bleach’s stories and interactions (with, you know, plot and shit thrown in).

Well. It’s more accurate to say the anime told a story about the characters, and the manga told... the story about the characters.

In terms of plot, the anime didn’t change much from the manga, but hoo fuckin’ boy, did they change shit about some of the characters. Specifically, they changed a shit ton about three characters: the two main protagonists, Ichigo and Rukia, and another main character, Orihime.

Orihime. Got. Fucked.

The anime would make her far more ditzy and clumsy, her crush (turned growing love later on in the story) for Ichigo during more deeper moments that showcases her feelings for him were downplayed if not removed entirely in exchange for talking or thinking about food, key moments she has with Ichigo early in the manga were cut or deadass changed to something else in the anime, some key moments with her relationship with Rukia were cut, her backstory was watered down - so much of Orihime was fucked with in the anime (her fuckin’ introduction was changed drastically). Meanwhile Ichigo and Rukia were given moments that didn’t exist in the manga, they have filler arcs (remember those lmao) that would be stuffed with shit ton of moments for them that have no basis in the manga, other characters would change their behavior from the manga to reflect a sort of “thing” going on between Ichigo and Rukia.

Look, guys, the anime fucked up so bad the fucking mangaka, Tite Kubo, has said he gets stomach aches watching the early anime because it was that awful. And this divide between the anime and manga’s portrayal of these three character helped spawn the ship war of Bleach: Ichiruki vs Ichihime (oh but more on that in a bit). It tanked Orihime’s popularity because people thought she was the stupid dumbass that would stumble ass first into situations when that wasn’t her character at all. And because the majority of anime watchers only watch the anime... yeah, you can see where this went. So just like in 3H in Bleach you have these radically different tellings of the same characters that drove a big-ass wedge in the fandom

Marketing

Imma be transparent, like I’ve said before I managed to avoid nearly every marketing tactic for 3H so it’s a tad hard for me to speak personally, but from what I’ve been told Edelgard was heavily marketed towards the player base pre-release. She was the poster child of 3H, she got the figma, she was in the spotlight - unless you cleansed your board of 3H content you knew exactly who she was. On top of that, it doesn’t stop in-game - loading screen messages would assume you picked BE, Adrestia is the first option to pick when you want to impress one of the lords in the prologue, the BE class is the first option to pick in choosing which route to play, every character has some moment in the game post ts where they express sympathy with the woman who waged war on them for five years (even characters with no business doing so, like Seteth entertaining the idea that maybe Edelgard isn’t that bad during Myrddin). With all of that good PR for Edelgard in and out of the game it heavily impacted how people saw her, and much of it is used by stans to justify her being a good guy (mostly in the game marketing) despite everything else in the game clearly showing that Edelgard is the bad guy

With Bleach in that regard... you have Ichiruki

With Ichiruki stans, they would cling onto outside material that promoted Ichigo and Rukia together as proof that their ship was going to be canon. Spreadsheets, calendars, poems (some of which didn’t even apply to Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship but they insisted they did anyway), novels - outside material that either wasn’t canon or didn’t pertain to Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship. They would shove it in the face of Ichihime shippers that “see, we have all this stuff for us! We ain’t starving tonight!” when the canon (note: in the manga particularly) would clearly show Ichigo and Orihime’s relationship being the one that leans romantic in multiple significant ways. They would latch onto irrelevant shit that ain’t had nothin’ to do with anything and wave around as a paragon of romance when it literally wasn’t even canon

Making people reject what they’re stanning for

I’ve seen a few people express that the more they interact with the fandom and see what her stans are doing, the more they grow to dislike Edelgard despite (some) initially liking or even loving her. To put it simply, the same thing happened with Ichiruki - hell, this happened with me with Ichiruki. I can’t fuckin’ stand the ship anymore because every time I think about it I’m reminded of the absolutely rancid, disgusting things Ichiruki stans have to done to others in the fandom, and even after nearly five years after Bleach has ended I still tense up when someone says they like Ichiruki over Ichihime precisely because of the behavior of the stans, just like I side-eye people who say Edelgard is the best lord. Do they like them because they simply prefer them over the other(s) and they’re not totally fuckin’ bonkers, or are they totally fuckin’ bonkers.

And, like, that’s not fair! I know that! But I can’t help but think that when such a loud amount of people act in such deplorable ways just because someone didn’t like a bunch of lines on paper/pixels on a screen.

To all the nice Ichiruki and Edelgard fans, hope y’all are havin’ a nice day.

Long, crazy ass explanations as to why X =/= X (and if anything actually means Y)

Teacher theory for 3H. How Edelgard totally didn’t hire Kostas to kill Dimitri and Claude and was only thwarted because Claude booked it, but how she definitely actually meant to simply scare away the teacher that was with them so that Jeritza could be pulled from his already existing position in Garreg Mach to teach one class so that Edelgard can kinda keep a sorta closer eye on exactly one of the other classes (and just do shit all about the other one I guess), because Jertiza’d be able to gleam so much from teaching a class for a few hours a day I promise

But for Bleach, you also have one particularly infamous theory positing shit that don’t real, with enough renown to be known by a specific name, and that’s the Lust Arc = Fail essay

To explain what the essay is about, I have to set the scene up a bit. Imagine, you, with your tiny little monkey brain, are watching Bleach, and you get to the part where Main Boyo is fighting against Villain to save Girly. Other Guy is there too - this is important. Main Boyo tries his hardest to fight Villain, but is ultimately shot through the fucking chest with a laser from Villain and dies. Like, for bit actually dies. Girly breaks down, has a straight up mental breakdown because she always “knew” that Main Boyo could do anything, and now he’s been killed and is dead in front of her. She screams out Main Boyo’s name, hysterically begging him to save her and protect her because holy shit the love of her life has been brutally murdered in front of her what the fuck. But Main Boyo, from literally beyond the line of death, hears her pleas and snaps back to life as a monster, with the sentence “I MUST PROTECT” repeatedly running through his head and being the only sentence he ever says while in this form, with him fucking destroying Villain and even going so far as to directly hurt Other Guy when Other Guy tries to stop Main Boyo from utterly stomping on Villain. Girly is the only person Main Boyo does not directly hurt, and when Villain is damn sure gonna fuckin’ kick the bucket that is when Main Boyo reverts back human. Everyone is more than a little shocked at what happened, but it’s clear from how relieved Girly is when Main Boyo comes back safe and sound that while this event fundamentally will change their relationship (and it does), it is still one that is extremely strong and they won’t let it get between them (and they don’t).

Now, when looking at the summary, you, with your absolutely miniscule peanut of a brain, might come away thinking, “Hm, Main Boyo might kinda care for Girly given that he literally rose from the dead to protect her and only her and went back to normal once she was safe” and you poor fool would be oh so wrong, because actually, this is all proof that Mian Boyo doesn’t care for Girly and that Villain actually cared more for Girly than Main Boyo ever could.

Without diving too deeply into the absolute lunacy of the Lust Arc = Fail essay, that was its main premise. That Ichigo, after rising from the literal dead directly after Orihime begged and pleaded that he protect and save her and then going on to protect and save specifically her (as Uryu - Other Guy - is also a friend of Ichigo’s and got his fucking arm cut off by Monster!Ichigo), is proof against Ichihime being romantic in any way and was not, in fact, a fuckin’ giant neon flashing sign that read THESE TWO ARE GONNA GET TOGETHER. It was the dumbest shit ever, but Ichiruki stans, much like Edelstans with Teacher Theory, clung to it like white on rice. It didn’t matter how much it was utterly debunked, it didn’t matter how the base premise was stupid as fuck, they point to it as the pinnacle of meta for their respective fandoms in their respective spaces.

And all of this leads me to um... the one I’m kinda the most worried about?

Stan Behavior

Edelstans are their own unique brand of awful in that that the shit they spew is particularly... worrying (”genocide isn’t bad if they aren’t human and also they kinda deserved it” “imperialism isn’t that bad really” the mentally ill should be put down if they’re deemed ~too far gone~” among other... wonderful takes...), and their behavior is also quite shitty, harassing content creators that go against the Approved Opinions (Ghast) or forcing people to take down fanart and in general infecting nearly every Rhea space with all kinds of disparaging comments no one asked for. They actively make the fandom a worse space, and when they flare up it’s almost always noticeable (again, Ghast)

Bleach?

Oh boy.

Guys. If you weren’t there for the Canonization of Ichihime (2016). You dodged a fucking bullet.

The outrage was out-fuckin’-rageous. Their behavior was some of the worst reactions anyone has ever seen come from the canonization of a ship in a shounen. This includes, but is not limited to:

Someone tearing apart all 70+ volumes of Bleach and burning it in their bathroom

In fact, multiple people tearing up Bleach and burning it, while keeping the Ichiruki moments and taping it to their walls

A Rukia cosplayer, in Rukia cosplay, printing out the final color spread of the end-game couples and their friends lounging about - with colored ink and all - and burning it, while filming herself doing so

Ichiruki porn being sent to Tite Kubo

Tite Kubo being accused of grooming a 15 Orihime cosplayer with no proof

Tite Kubo being accused of lying about his various health issues

Ichigo and Rukia being drawn cheating on their spouses with each other - and some of that also being sent to Tite Kubo

Tite Kubo being chased off Twitter by Ichiruki stans... again

Ichihime shippers getting sent death threats

Ichihime shippers getting called delusional for thinking their ship had a chance before the endgame couples were revealed, and then being called delusional for thinking their ship had any real basis and wasn’t pulled “out of nowhere”

Tite Kubo being accused of hating women because of Orihime being shown in an apron in the last chapter and Ichiruki stans jumping to the conclusion she became a housewife, and then Tite Kubo being accused of hating women because when it was revealed that Orihime has a job in a bakery to pay for college later they insisted what Kubo should have done was have Uryu, who’s a doctor at that point, pay for Orihime’s college instead of having Orihime pay for it with her own money

And mind you, this is only the stuff I’ve personally seen and experienced

I am hoping and praying that Edelstans never get as bad as Ichiruki stans did in 2016, but with how otherwise similar they are my hopes are dwindling more and more. I guess I can take solace in the fact that they aren’t quite... that bad yet? In terms of actions, at least? Their sentiments though are infinitely worse, so like... cool
