Alright. So I don't quite know how to explain it, but Hualian really just has lesbian vibes. At least to me.

Being a lesbian is a lot of: "You girls must be such good friends!" "Do your boyfriends know you're here?" "How come I never see you two apart?" "Haha, two girls kissing? They must be best friends."

And look. Listen.

Hualian is constantly having people be like "You two must be such great friends!" from most of the other heavenly officials (until later on).

Xie Lian is constantly asked/talked about with "where's YOUR crimson rain sought flower?" or "If you are here, Crimson Rain is not far behind".

Also, there's something inherently powerful about a queer couple.

Being queer creates a space outside the norm. That unites us so much.

And it just feels like Hualian are the most lesbian-coded gay man couple I have seen in a long, long time.

I need a second opinion. So I’m writing a book, right? In the book, two young children are sent to live with their aunt and her wife after their own parents were deemed abusive and sent to jail for drug use. The children do not fully understand that their parents were abusive, nor do they understand their parents did drugs. I thought it would be a good running joke/essential part of the story that these children suspect that their aunt and her wife are fae. This originally started when their mother (who was homophobic) bitterly said that their aunt and her “roommate” (aka her wife) were fairies (in the derogatory term). The children, not understanding the concept of homophobia or the fact that their mother was using a slur, thought she was calling them fairies in the fairytale book kind of way. The older sibling, the boy, is skeptical of this and says that fairies don’t exist, while his sister has the opposite perspective. The children throughout the story seem to suspect their aunts are fairies and debate over this constantly. The aunts’ behaviors and lifestyle in this story also seems to reinforce their belief, because the children don’t quite understand that normal parents don’t abuse their kids. The aunts live in a beautiful cottage with a lovely garden (it has a sign planted near the mailbox that says “Welcome to the Fairy Cottage”) and it’s in a beautiful small town (one of those small towns where everyone knows everyone) with beautiful and unique people who are kind. The children are pushed to believe their aunts are magical fairies on accident.

Things their aunts do that are apparently “magical”:

One of them has a prosthetic leg

They are both good cooks (their parents only ever used microwave meals) and use herbs in their cooking to help the children’s health.

When the little girl wet herself one of the aunts ran her a bath at the temperature she wanted and put a “potion” in the bath that calmed her down (it was lavender soap) without yelling at her.

One of the aunts is an amazing singer. The other plays piano. They both love to dance. At one point the piano plays itself while they dance. (Its one of those pianos with a self-playing mode)

They understand when the little girl references her synesthesia.

They have a “witch shed” in the back yard. At one point when the little girl is sick, one makes her some tea that helps her feel a little better.

Their house has a bit of a Howls Moving Castle vibe.

They are patient with the children and don’t scream.

One has ADHD and shows symptoms

Upon realizing that the little girl has autism, they took her to a doctor/psychiatrist and got her diagnosed and medicated for it, which helped her. She thinks the pills are magic because they help her function better and she didn’t have too much access to medicine with her parents.

They sewed the leg back on a stuffed animal the older one ripped.

Anyway, last year when I said what the running joke is one of my friends got upset and said that it wasn’t something to joke about (even though this is not meant to be disrespectful or hurtful or offensive, but rather a piece of commentary on the world in the eyes of children) I of course, defended this because I myself am bisexual and thought it would be interesting and a little humorous. Keep in mind, the word fairy is only referenced to have been used as a slur once. The rest of the time it is used, it references the mythical creature with wings. I love the book I am writing so much and this piece of the story is a big part of why I started writing it in the first place, and I would hate for this storyline to have a negative effect on the readers. Should I change it? Is it considered offensive if it’s displayed like this? I’m not trying to make fun, or say that using slurs is funny and okay at all. I just think fairies are neat and children have wild imaginations and lesbians are cool.

Hello everyone! My name is Nomi J. (any pronouns) and I am an adult fiction and 18+ erotica writer. My narratives center around queer characters and experiences and are typically magical realism or high fantasy. Lunar Lagoon is a series of lesbian vignettes that started as erotica and has moved towards long form erotic romance. The main characters are Lyria and Amelia, who are drawn to each other through the sparks of both pleasure and genuine romance. This is a fast paced, supernatural romance with mermaids, lgbt themes, and an ambiguous modern setting in the Mediterranean. The narrative deals with trust, control and freedom, and autonomy in love and relationships.

I WISH I could say I was one of the OG goncharov girlies who watched it in their family living room at nine pm on a Friday night because their dad couldn’t be bothered making them go to bed after watershed hour. I wish I could at least say I was one of the film studies girlies who were forced to watch it for a uni course and saw the face of lesbian god in the most unlikely of places

Not me ! I found out about Goncharov a year or so ago when the shoe post was first circulating. But not even directly. I found out via my flatmate, who saw the shoe post, and like so many others went down a Google rabbithole to work out what the fuck was this Scorsese film they’d never heard of. They told me about it and said they wanted to watch it and I was like “yeah !! Sure!!” Great, right? Still a decent way to find out about Goncharov, yes?

No!! Because my flatmate and I have a long-established habit of watching Bad movies/television. And during the fortnight or so that they were talking about watching Goncharov, they were also talking about The Room. As in The Room, universally panned infamous Bad film 2003 directed by Tommy Wiseau.

Necessary context so people don’t mock me for making up “obviously fake” stories, I have adhd. I forget things. I get things Twisted(TM). I find it hard to keep information in my little brain and sometimes I think I’m listening when people talk to me and then it turns out I was really really not. Numbers in particular fuck me up. So when me and my flatmate were talking about Goncharov 1973, and The Room 2003, and I only knew snatches of information about either of them, like that there was a love triangle, people being held at gunpoint over drugs, a violent tragic ending centred on the death of the protagonist, and a scene where people fuck on some stairs

I - and I STILL argue, UNDERSTANDABLY, in light of all context - thought the two films were one film called The Room, directed by Goncharov, often referred to as Goncharov for ?? some reason (I remember just taking Jack’s lead on that one. I was like what do I know. Jack knows way more about films than me. If the film bros alternate between calling The Room “The Room” and the name of the director I’m not gonna make an idiot of myself asking why). And I hate spoilers regardless of whether the film is good or Bad so I did not bother to watch or Google anything that my flatmate didn’t tell me or I didn’t already know by cultural osmosis. When Jack was like “you ready to watch Goncharov on Saturday” I was like “hell YEAH I am haha let’s DO it”

Can you imagine. ??? Have you seen Goncharov 1973, dear reader? I assume you have. But have you also seen The Room 2003 directed by Tommy Wiseau?? Have you ever sat down in your living room with your flatmate, thinking you’re about to watch a bad silly film called The Room, and saying “ngl I might go on my phone during the stair sex scene”, and had your flatmate reply “yeah I’ve heard people call it kind of psychological horror, with the pseudo-incest allegory and everything” and thought to yourself “damn Goncharov is darker than I thought” BEARING IN MIND THAT YOU THINK GONCHAROV IS THE ROOM 2003 DIR. GONCHAROV

I sat through that bleak, slow pan montage of barren Sicilian orange groves thinking “huh. Maybe it’s like, arty and bad”. I laughed at the double child homicide and Jack gave me a weird look. I got through the warehouse raid and the whiplash cut to Andrey’s silent house with a growing sense of confusion and unease because this seemed less and less like a Bad film and more and more like the kind of thing film bros would die on the cross for. The first scene where they actually call Goncharov by his name is nearly twenty minutes into the film. and it was only then that I’d gathered enough information to say anything, and you know what I fucking said

“This isn’t Goncharov, is it? Like we’re not watching Goncharov”

Obviously this made Jack look at me like I was emotionally deranged and stop the film and we had a conversation that devolved into an argument about how reasonable it is for a person to talk about two films and conflate them into one film, then watch nearly half an hour of one of them without being sure that anything is amiss. To this day I argue that it was wild but not unreasonable of me and that Jack is being ableist by not understanding that I have special boy disorder that makes me confuse obscure Scorsese films with the worst films of all time. Jack believes, in a loud and hurtful fashion, that I’m criminally insane.

And there the matter has rested, but for the moments when I do something particularly manic pixie dream girl and Jack, fuming, is like “this is just like the time you thought goncharov and the room were the same film”

VTM Rambles: the Lesbian Cinematic Universe

so i run a chronicle set in new orleans and it's part of what my girlfriend and i call the lesbian cinemtic universe which also includes their berlin by night chronicle that i play in. we call it such because i'm sure you can imagine there are so many lesbian characters. and like, i love it because our games are so queer friendly as they're run by trans lesbians and played by other sapphics. all of us are also experienced ttrpg players or storytellers in some other way too so it's very common someone will have someone else crying or freaking out because of the scene they're playing,

I also think the queerness and our experience with storytelling allows us to better explore the themes of vampire, which to me are what does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be good. We all have characters, PCs or SPCs alike that re struggling with the darkness of the kindred and human world, in fact I think some way all of them are. i love being able to explore what that means for these people and how they react and cope with the pain of their lives. As creators in these games, we've taken a very human approach to creating these chracters as world of darkness seems to believe that once you're embraced you lose all goodness. it also seems to me they believe tiers of humanity are fixed and unuanced when that is simply not the case so i love playing with what each tier of humanity might mean for each character.

as a storyteller, and a player i interpret the beast as more a figurative manifestation of whatever magic that comes with kindredhood and the blood combined with a person's shadow self and subconscious. i'm personally not a fan of the idea that the beast is an actual entity now living in a kindred' head because of the embrace that sucks the good from you. i think the beast forces the kindred to grapple with the darkest parts of themselves that were already there so the fight for goodness or humanity is internal and intrinsic. to me, this has created such an interesting conflict and even fear in certain characters who want to be kind and humane but are scared to lose that due to age or the world etc.

in these two games, we also have some really interesting themes going through. in berlin, i'd say we're creating a theme of healing generational wounds and in nola i think our theme is becoming learning to hold on to the love and kindness in your life, because it will save you in more ways than one. as a creator whether that be on the storyteller or player side, i'm taking these ideas and running with them. for me, a throughline theme helps tie a story together and helps write the story as it devlops even in an rpg.

additionally, i've found that vtm is a great system to explore heavier topics than you more easily could in dnd or something similar. the central questions of the game lends itself to that. for example, in nola i have a plot that has to do with the second inquistion in the cia and how the prince of the camarilla is currently being trafficked as a part of a deal to hold of the cia which was made knowing one day she'd break. i also think the system is a good way to explore power dynamics in society and tradition. even though our political systems are very different in reality a lot of the messiness and the constructs that create those systems are present in the construction of the camarilla, anarchs, and sabbat- to me this is just another interesting way to explore morality in a game like this.

i am a neuroscientist and enjoy tweaking the poorly written mechanics relating kindred anatomy and physiology. i could make a whole post dedicated to what i've messed with in that regard because it's been a lot. i've altered scarring, disease/immune states, the appearance and visibility of disability, metabolism, and fertility to name a few. most importantly from that list is disability and disease. in both games several characters are autistic or adhd or both. there are vampires who use mobility aids, who are amputees, the nola prince and her wife have hiv, one of my pcs has hEDS and the other has lupus. world of darkness erases disability entirely when talking about the embrace and to me, that's wrong. disability isn't awful or heinous and shouldn't be erased in a low (or high for that matter) fantasy game because it's a part of life for so many people.

I'm a 30 y/o Australian cisgender gal, though I originally came from New Zealand. I'm neurodiverse (the Autism/ADHD combo) and I consider myself to be disabled, Lesbian and femme-aligned NB (though I'd say autigender if I'm gonna split hairs, non-binary is just easier). I'm still figuring out where I am in terms of Lesbian identity (late bloomer over here) but if I were to hazard a guess it'd be soft butch/chapstick-lesbian/stem? I'll get back to you on that one, lol.

I'm pretty creative, I dabble in digital art and sometimes photography, both real and virtual and I've been writing fiction stories since I was a kid who was obsessed with books (though I tend to read more fanfic these days, oops). I like to write original fiction but I tend to get way too into the world building side of things, I like figuring out the setting and lore, environment etc. (I'd probably make a good DM, ngl) Outside that I do think I have a missed calling as a tattoo artist that I probably won't get to fulfil in this lifetime, so instead I design them for characters and make OC tattoo mods for videogames. I'd love to get more tattoos irl!

I am a big Gamer Girl(TM), I orignally was studying in game design before life shit got in the way of that. I find game systems really interesting, and do get a kick out of figuring out how they work - so modding has kind of been a natural evolution of this - you can check out what I've been messing around with under #my modding. My preferred platform is PC, I know how to build them (though I rarely get to) but recently upgraded my PC to be a souped up bonus room heater with funky lights so I can do more shit with 3D art (and gaming stuff ofc is a bonus lol).

i have so many stories.... (and clans but. well. adhd) okay so first off this was a few months ago in one of my first few clans and i hardly remember anything but. i had a lesbian couple, rock & blaze. blaze had two kits (bc i have same-sex kits on) and they’re happy. they’re really in love, especially blaze, and my fav couple in a clan of like. 50 cats bc they’re so cute together. then, rock gets pregnant. it’s all well & i’m really happy for them until she gives birth and they’re NOT blaze’s. i decided that she didn’t tell anyone even tho i was sad n felt bad for blaze :( but yeah. when those kits are apprentices, rock gets pregnant aGAIN. and she cheats on blaze AGAIN. with the same cat. and that is when i realised it. the worst thing about it all. the cat rock was cheating on blaze with? bLAZE’S OWN FATHER. TWICE. and blaze was really close with him too :(( this time the text was abt him entering the den looking forward to co-parenting or smth so i made them break up and meditated to make blaze dislike her former mate & father for the shit they were pulling. like two months after her last litter rOCK GETS LOST. AND SHE NEVER RETURNS, INSTEAD DYING. so blaze ended up having to co-parent with her own father. i love her sm still she had sm bad luck and i feel so sorry for her :( she was so happy with rock.... :((

then i also had these two cats in another clan. rainhunter (new warrior) finds tadpole, soon tadpolepaw on a patrol, and he joins the clan. the next moon tadpole starts falling for tadpole, and the one after, rain starts crushing too. their romantic bars go up to 3/4ths and 1/2nd in the record speed of FIVE MOONS and then. rainhunter fucking dies. by protecting tadpole from a fire!! tadpolepaw, now tadpolecurl is devastated. doesn’t just gain grief, also lasting one. neither of them managed to confess while alive,, i actually made up lore around them—rain stays with him as a ghost since tadpole can see ghosts, and they actually get together after rain’s death. so, there’s not enough healers, and tadpole decides to become one even if he’s a warrior. all goes well, but he never falls in love again. cue to him being like 30 moons old, and a healer joining who looks EXACTLY like rain except for their eye colors. this was pure rng, but tadpole starts disliking her, more and more every moon, until he ends up murdering her. personally choosing to interpret it as him not being able to go on with her looking so so similar to his dead love of his life (and rain had a bloodthirsty trait, soo ghost rain encouraging him to do it <3). i eventually stopped playing this clan bc i lost motivation but. man. rainhunter and tadpolechase. fuck. (also their names !! hunter. chase. RAINhunter. TADPOLEchase. they are linked)

now after all this sadness, a silly funny one :3 in gardeniaclan i had a former kittypet join on moon 1. her name? wigglebutt. her full name after changing it to make it sound more clan-like? wigglebuttwhistle. she is amazing. on the same moon of her joining, the deputy thornsting falls for her. he also falls for some tom who’s name i forgot the moon after, but he loves both of them abt the same amount. a few moons in wigglebuttwhistle actually gains a tiny crush back on thorn, and the other tom he loves also likes him back. i haven’t really played more bc technically they’re for a clangen blog... but man i am so so rooting for the simp thornsting, his girlboss wife wigglebuttwhistle, and the random guy who’s name i forgot. i love them. i think i’ll cry if they don’t ever become a thing.

Hey Cas! So I'm a queer teenage girl, but I'm homeschooled, so I have no clue if my friends would be accepting or not. There has never been an opportunity to bring up LGBTQIA+ rights, to see how they react , and I know for sure that at least one of my friends has no clue what gay people even are, because I mentioned that I could ship Sirius and Remus, and she said "Wait, but they're both dudes? And dudes cut marry each other?" But not even in a homophobic way, she was legit confused. Ive only told two people. The first is my BFF, who've I've known since I was 5 days old. She was the first person I told. I've also told my mom, and she's been super supportive, but I don't know how or when to tell my dad. He has a gay brother, but the relationship there is pretty much none (My uncle just moved away and never visits) , so I don't know how hell react. I was thinking of writing a letter, but I don't think that would work.

I'm know I'm attracted to multiple genders, because even before I knew what sexualities were, I wrote a story about two lesbian spies. I also get that happy feeling when I see queer people out in public. I have fantasized about both men and women before, so I do know I'm attracted to both men and women (And possibly non-binary people), but I don't know if that makes me Bi, or Omni, or Pan?

For your friends, I'd try to warm them up to the idea a bit first, lol, especially since they genuinely don't know a lot. Bring up some queer ships, talk about LGBTQIA+ people in the media, that type of thing. Then ease into it.

As far as your dad, I think a letter is a great idea! It can be scary to tell someone big news like that, so getting all your thoughts down in a letter is super smart. It also gives him time to think about his reactions.

As far as your sexuality, have you researched each of those identities? They're very similar (though different in some ways as well), so it might help to look them up and really think about which one makes the most sense to you. Also remember that you're young, and you don't necessarily need to label yourself! Knowing who you're attracted to is a great start! As you get older and start dating more and more, you'll start to realize your preferences and it'll help you figure that out as well.

i left twitter, let's say, more than two years ago. i was on it for a few years? and before that i was basically never actually on social media. there were a few moments where i /tried/ to enter some community or another? like i joined a souncloud mashup server once (the atrium), and i briefly entered a discord for an anime essay channel, but i left and i got kicked out because i was saying ass backwards reactionary logic shit. so the biggest thing i ever did was Be Kae Dotmoe, and what that meant was, plunging blindly into anitwitter, orbiting around the plasuible deniability right wing podcaster losers like Polyphemus, until I found kayfaraday, resident extremely weird christian chiptune artist who at least creatively had the same affect as me, of the sort of nonsensical schizophrenia on which postmodernist ficiton thrives and upon which fascism subsists. nazism, like, relies on genocide to build the pyramids, and relies on people like me to put aliens in its thrusters.

and then i met good people. i met a bunch of lesbian lolicons is the insulting thing to call them. i like women, and i am a girl, and i hate the world of adults so id like to think we were cut from the same cloth? but maybe because i still have something i havent gotten diagnosed, which i doubt because ive met therians, ive met littles, ive met people with adhd and bpd and clinical schizophrenia, people who are plural and shit. but i havent met people like me. they couldnt put up with it. i hurt them a lot. so i had to leave. also i got bored of the nazis when they started being predictable, and also, like, obviously evil and wanting me dead i guess but who doesnt right.

I just couldnt handle it anymore. i grew incredibly jealous, it made me feel physically sick to see people happy. to be themselves, to be with the people they loved. to do things that expressed this happiness about themselves and others, and the things they shared. i lived more than an ocean away. it felt like i never had a chance, and that feeling overwhelmed me. i've always been living under the ocean, but i guess the submarine depressurised? i dont know. im still alive anyway, im here, but its so quiet now. anyway, i was also getting really paranoid, on one hand nobody talked about me so i was going to die alone and never get to be kae, on the other hand the few people who did were surely badmouthing me in places i wasnt invited to. they let me hang around but i was never invited to the parties. i know of this metaphor because i read it in american stories about school children and stuff. i dont relate to it personally because when i was in school i didnt even "get to hand around". the only two people i talked to was a kid with aspergers and a furry. we talked about ytp and mlp. well, the point is, they dont talk to me anymore anyway. i randomly came out to a schoolmate i knew from back then? i helped her out a few times? My most developed and third-ever OC, Mavwin is the third child and only daughter of Fëanor. In her youth she was a princess and an artist who loved her father fiercely. In the First Age she became a warrior and a leader, as well as a war criminal, having sworn the Oath of Fëanor and committed the Kinslayings alongside her brothers. Unlike her brothers, however, she survived the First Age with the help of her foster sons Elrond and Elros, and became a war hero in the wars against Sauron in the Second Age. By the time of The Lord of the Rings, she is a depressed and traumatized warrior slowly dying of grief. She ends up getting a very happy ending, winning Legolas' heart and finally getting to sail home to Valinor and finding healing after the Oath is mysteriously broken.

My second ever OC, I’m only including her because my list feels incomplete otherwise. I made her when I was fourteen, wrote several thousand words for her, then stopped writing fanfic altogether for nearly a decade. Her only highlights are being Legolas’s fiance, having the dubious honor of getting stabbed with a Morgul blade twice in her lifetime, and having the equally dubious honor of speaking extremely bad “Elvish.”

She’s been pretty much entirely eclipsed by Mavwin at this point and is unlikely to ever get so much as a downgrade to side character status, much less a revamp to her actual story.

Edit: Literally as I was working on this post, I came up with a possible revamp and tie-in to Mavwin's story, so...this space might change in the future. We'll see.

Not long after Sarah was conceived, however, her mother finally discovered Greyback’s true nature and ran, hiding out in the English countryside. There Sarah was raised alongside Remus Lupin, with the two quickly becoming close friends. After Remus was attacked by Greyback, Sarah’s mother and the Lupins worked together to move around the country in hopes of keeping the two children safe. Sarah, meanwhile, decided to dedicate her life to protecting Remus. Highlights of Sarah’s story: became an illegal Animagus (a wolf) in her third year so she could spend full moons with Remus; started dating Remus in their fifth year and married him soon after graduating; also joined the Ministry after graduation in an attempt to change society and the treatment of werewolves from the inside; after James and Lily die she and Remus search for Harry and move to Little Whinging to keep an eye on him, posing as a government career-woman and a house-husband with a part-time job at the local library. Ends the series living with Sirius and Remus in a nice cottage out in the countryside with a lot of well-warded land for the werewolves (Ash, Remus) and Animagi (Sarah, Sirius) in the family to roam during full moons.

Lukas Greyback

Okay, so for those who are Homestucks, you know Blood Players? Yeah, that’s this guy.

Lukas Greyback is the oldest child of Fenrir Greyback. Born into Fenrir’s pack, Lukas was Fenrir’s chosen heir—probably the only reason Fenrir was so accepting of Lukas being trans, as he’d been disappointed that his heir was apparently female. Fenrir did his best to indoctrinate his son with his views and train him to fight against the Wizarding World, even going so far as to protect him from getting bit and sending him to Hogwarts so that he would know how to defend himself magically. That was also Fenrir’s biggest mistake, however, as Lukas found people there who befriended him despite his parentage and unusual upbringing. His half-siblings and even some of their friends showed him the truth: although the Wizarding World could be cruel and discriminatory, there were still people who fought against the cruelty.

Armed with the Power of Friendship this knowledge, Lukas returned to Fenrir after graduating and confronted him once he’d been turned into a werewolf, declaring that he would rather make allies among the wizards and fight for werewolf rights politically instead of in a violent revolution. Enraged, Fenrir attacked him, blinding him in one eye and driving him out of the pack.

Undaunted, Lukas proceeded to work to form his own rival pack of those werewolves who suffered under Fenrir’s capricious rule, or desired reconciliation and acceptance from the Wizarding World. To that end, Lukas cultivated a calm, charismatic persona, achieving a near-religious following amongst those who joined him. His siblings still act as his closest allies in the Wizarding World, helping him to work from within in order to bring about the peace they all desire.

Brittany Albright

Brittany is the baby of the Greyback half-siblings, and tends to prefer the background, so I don’t really have a great grasp on her just yet. Here’s what I do know, however.

Brittany was born to a very, very young Muggle woman, a girl, really (because Greyback is a terrible person, as we all know), and was thus raised initially as her mother’s younger sister. Given the circumstances of Brittany's conception, however, her existence raised a lot of stress for her birth family, and life wasn't easy for her. Being neurodivergent and magical in a neurotypical, Muggle household didn’t help. She was eventually, around the age of six, given up for adoption as a result of all the tension, and a very kind, very neurodivergent Muggle professor ended up adopting her and gave her a much better childhood until they were pleasantly surprised by her Hogwarts letter.

Personality-wise, Brittany tends to be very quiet and shy and masks really hard, all the time. If you're able to gain her trust and make her feel comfortable, however, she basically becomes Entrapta from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. She's fond of researching both Muggle technology and Wizarding magic in hopes of improving the state of technology in the Wizarding World.

Rune Arthana

Rune is a shy, mysterious member of Fairy Tail. Found and brought to the guild by Gildarts after faer father died from Magic Deficiency Disease, Rune uses “Spirit Magic,” magic that calls upon the spirits of the world around faer and apparently learned from the ruins Rune explored with faer parents, and is always accompanied by a large, magical, sentient hound.

The truth is that Rune’s dad mistranslated some ancient manuscripts that Zeref left lying around somewhere, and that “Spirit Magic” is actually Living Magic. Rune’s actually creating spirits from the things around faer. Fae is not very happy when fae encounters Zeref on Tenrou and finds this out.

Morgan the Doll

Fandom: Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai)

Aka the container for all my gender dysphoria.

Somehow, in this universe, early on in Meliodas and Elizabeth’s curses, Merlin found notes from the original Gowther describing how to create a sentient magical doll, same as Gowther the Sin. In the interest of helping her friends, she created Morgan, a pretty female doll who could accompany Meliodas and use her emotion-based magic to help keep him stable during the long and tormenting years.

Morgan didn’t quite turn out as expected, however, because it turns out when you create a sentient being, that being tends to have their own ideas. While they did their best to serve and help Meliodas, and indeed became a close friend and confidant to both Meliodas and many incarnations of Elizabeth, they struggled with things like their sense of purpose, self-worth, identity, and gender over the millennia. (Gender, at least, was resolved fairly early on, actually, when Meliodas urged Morgan to do what they wanted instead of what he wanted, and Morgan promptly gave themself top surgery—something much more easily accomplished as a doll. Not that they didn’t give Meliodas a heart attack when he walked in on them. On the upside they’ve got really cool stitches on their scars!)

Madalena the Dhampir

Fandom: Castlevania (Netflix TV Show)

A young dhampir literally raised by wolves, Madalena gets adopted by Dracula after Carmilla finds her on her way to Dracula’s castle and decides to drag her along as a “gift.” Dracula being a good dad when not drowning in grief and rage, he manages to drag himself out of his funk enough to care for Madalena and begin teaching her reading, writing, and fighting.

When Carmilla and the protagonists attack the castle, Dracula sends her to hide. She comes out a few days later to find only Alucard, who, after an initial scuffle over his part in Dracula’s death, adopts Madalena as his sister and continues the education his father began.

My newest OC, Beck is a deeply religious Ishvalan teen traveling with the Elric brothers for much of the story. Having been the only member of their family to survive the Ishvalan genocide, they have a lot of complicated feelings about alchemy, the Amestrian military, and Amestris and Amestrians in general, but they also believe that traveling with Ed and Al could be an opportunity to change Amestrians’ attitudes towards Ishvalans.

Eventually, however, they discover their mentor from the temple, who we know as Scar, is still alive and also really fucked up, which kind of throws a wrench in all their good intentions. And also there’s all the rest of the plot.
