Orange Flags (found in any post but especially ones about politics)

We don't always have the time and/or energy to do our own research, so here are some things to watch out for:

No sources. Obviously this doesn't 100% guarantee that the post contains misinformation but it does mean you can't easily verify it. Is OP right? Wrong? Outright lying? You don't know!

Contradicting sources in the notes. Again, doesn’t necessarily mean that OP is wrong, but you should absolutely do your own research before sharing if several different people are providing contradictory evidence.

'Unreliable' sources. What constitutes as unreliable depends a bit on context but be especially wary of unsourced screenshots (could be taken out of context), clearly biased sources (e.g. 'Nationalist News of [Country]' type newspapers), and second hand sources (e.g. a different, unsourced tumblr post).

Minor mistakes. Like an incorrect statistic, an exaggerated number, or a omitted detail - something fairly small. Maybe OP just misremembered or forgot about this one thing, but it could be a sign they've made an error or lied about something far more major.

Urgency. Obviously there is a lot of reason for urgency when dealing with crises, but if a post gives you the vibe of go go go there's no time to explain share this give money do it now don't think about it go then OP may not have stopped to check their sources, or even be actively using urgency to mislead you.

And lastly here's a tip: if you're not sure, save the post as a draft. More information might become available later.

Stopping the spread of misinformation is hard. We all want to help and sharing posts feels like a very quick and easy way to do it. But it's also very easy to share the wrong thing by mistake. Try to stop and think.

Source for this post: my own experience. These are things I've picked up over many years of being gullible online. I highly encourage you to take the time to educate yourself about how to stop the spread of misinformation.

i remember when i was 12 or so, I went for a walk by my house and ended up talking to these two artists, while we were talking one of them was drawing this flag on the ground and then they wrote free palestine under it. i asked what that was, where that was, why they werent free already and they answered all my questions. then after we finished talking i left and i forgot about that conversation for a few years.

ive been remembering it a lot lately bc i was able to just walj home and forget, a shit load kids my age over there dont have a home to go back to and they sure as hell cant forget as easily as i did.

my point here is that this is far from new and this isnt the first its being brought up, we just forgot or ignored it before. a man set himself on fire to get our attention and people are still looking away. you dont have to see the bodies, just at least reblog the donation links and information screenshots.

Cyberpunk 2077 "Valentinos" Wall Deco TS4 Download

130 Swatches of graffiti, decals, murals, walls, and misc decor from El Coyote Cojo bar and Heywood area of Night City, 18+ themes.

All decals without text have a mirror flipped version to make your own symmetrical layouts: (I realise one is accidentally not the flipped one in the screenshot but in game it does have it 😅)

Also included Misc Decor from El Coyote Cojo bar, the "collectible" posters from Jackie's garage, the Cyberpunk 2077 Valentinos poster and some random Tainted Overlord posters.

The woohoo symbols are just there to censor the images in case my tumblr somehow gets flagged. The art includes mature themes. (I apologise if I missed anything it is hard to see sometimes with all the graffiti and im getting tunnel vision)

All Decals are resizable and can be raised :) some look better sized down or up, or on different colour backgrounds. All art was taken from the game or from the game concept art. I hand painted some of them to improve them or do them from scratch, or added paint effects to make it look less photo-ish, and some I left mostly as they were.

Thank you so much to @hamsterbellbelle for showing me the right and quick easy way to do this project, though I still took literally forever and had to re do so many things but I'm very happy with it even though it is my first ever wall deco. And sorry Jackie for forcing you to be a reference but "once a Valentino, always a Valentino, chico".

Thought to drop some behind the scenes on making Athena. My take on Pallas Athena's design was inspired by portrayals of her from ancient times and modern pop culture.

My original drawing at the top right was the footprint that started it all.

Her outfit was inspired by this digital creation of a surviving Athena statue. There have been studies of these statues that used to have color back then. Look it up, it's COOL and WORTH IT! Even her hair was inspired by the statues from back then. Her bangs are supposed to look like teardrops.

The colors on the Greek flag inspired her top.

I took animation lessons from a former Disney Animator back in the day, so I took inspiration from Disney's Hercules Athena with the character design, the long neck, a bit of her height pose, and her little owl, Noctua.

Noctua is inspired by the little owls (Athene Noctua) hailing from Europe. Because of that, I made her helmet look like an owl head.

For the pose with her owl, I discovered this image from an 80s classic, Clash of the Titans, a movie I plan to watch soon.

What got me back into Greek Mythology was watching Epic the Musical animatics like Warrior of the Mind. To @wolfythewitch and @gigizetz, I blame BOTH of you for wanting to draw my version of a tall owl lady! For those learning about Epic, please check it out and give @wolfythewitch and @gigizetzs' videos a watch.

I had to look up hand references because I struggled to finish her. The hand holding the spear was inspired by a screenshot of Jasmine's hands and another source I'll bring up next. The hand on the right with Noctua was inspired by a hand pose of Disney's Athena and a hand reference I found on Deviant Art by the Etherington Brothers. (Link below the list)

I recently discovered the Olympians Graphic Novels by George O'Connor. Athena from those books played a role in figuring out her design. Check out those books if you guys have the chance! Highly recommend them!

Stolas from Helluva Boss inspired Athena's facial features from her head shape, mouth, and eyes, which can glow if she wants them to.

Athena's armlet, arm plate armor, and the Aegis were inspired by Athena's design in the recent roleplaying musical video game Stray Gods. If you love musicals and crime-solving, I do recommend it.

Hello, this is the same anon who had the discussion about Namy Gaga yesterday.

Just thought I'd add a few small addendums (i.e. corrections or clarifications) to my previous ask.

Content warning for discussions of:

Abusive relationships and victim-blaming

Potential queerphobia (and misgendering/deadnaming of a trans person)

The 'google drive' Namy made in December 2023 - you can find the link on her Facebook - was purely regarding Mely (basically the former trying to paint herself as the victim but ending up proving the latter's case even further). I should also mention that, after Evan cut ties with her, Namy had occasionally vague-posted about him through Twitter for a few years - both victim-blaming him and defending her relationship with him. However, my point about Namy talking about Evan and Mely through Facebook and in some of her recent YouTube videos still stands.

Screenshots of the anonymous interview (where Evan explained his relationship with Namy) circulated on Instagram to my knowledge.

On the subject of interviews, in January 2024, Evan made a statement on Facebook (see the last 5-10 mins in BioTex Raccoon's latest video on Namy if you want). Firstly, he said that neither he nor Mely want to continue to be pestered into giving their side when it's none of the public's business. I absolutely respect his decision, especially given: a) Mely's lawsuit against Namy (and the potential harassment that Namy has incited against Mely), b) Namy lying about both victims to her audience, and c) both victims not wanting their stories used by people exposing Namy purely for internet clout. Secondly, since Evan is a trans man, he called out people for deadnaming/misgendering him when they used old drawings Namy (which depicted him pre-transition) as evidence for Namy being an abusive creep. Again, I hope both victims can heal from this.

The aphobic comment Namy made was made in April 2021, but I forgot to add this in the original ask.

For those who are wondering about the "outdated lesbian flag", I'm referring to the 'lipstick lesbian' flag (the version without the kiss mark). This particular flag was proposed in 2010. However, to my knowledge, many have criticised it for focusing exclusively on feminine-presenting cis women (and the creator for making transphobic comments) - which is why the current lesbian flag was designed to encompass cis/trans women (both feminine and butch/gender-noncomforming) and gender-diverse folk (e.g. non-binary). Photos posted on Namy's twitter (2022) initially showed her with an old keyring in the 'lipstick lesbian' flag colours. However, Namy posted photos of her and her current (OF AGE, THANKFULLY) partner at a pride parade in 2023, with the former having the current lesbian flag. More about this specifically in relation to Namy's FNAF AU can be found in BioTex Raccoon's videos.

//Studied 6 hours today. Honestly I was supposed to do at least 7 but I was quite tired from staying up last night to watch the movie and my tinnitus was going crazy today. Also I forgot to take a picture while studying so here's a screenshot from the book I'm currently reading, Atomic habits. It's the first self help book I've ever read (I hate the tone of most self help books and end up abandoning all of them). I'm liking it so far.//

As a Portuguese, it's rly incredible to finally see my culture represented in a videogame, especially since Esperança is based in my hometown Porto. So I just wanted to show you some comparisons and point out some details that will escape most people, since Portuguese representation is non-existent in the media:

When Esperança loads, you can immediately see that the map is heavily inspired by Aliados/Santa Catarina street/Bolhão and what is obviously supposed to be the chapel of souls or the church dos Congregados, the 'elétrico' (yellow tram), and its many metro/tram tracks that cover our cobblestone streets. A nice lil detail is that there is a lot of construction work happening on the map just like all over Porto since we became one of the top cities to invest in with our tourism boom.

You can go to a fado place. Hey ever heard about fado? Probably not - here is my favorite if you'd like to listen. Fado is traditional Portuguese music that according to google 'evokes a despairing belief in a futile destiny filled with pining and hopelessness'. Portuguese culture it's pretty melancholic, yeah.

You will see these ceramic black chickens, they're called rooster of Barcelos. Everyone used to have one in their homes but now it's kind of corny decor and sold as tourist trinkets mostly.

You have of course our river and rabelo boats and what I believe is a picture of our windmills and highways (which I immediately recognized from driving across the country) and our dams (this might be weird but Portuguese dams are so beautiful! they look gigantic and we don't have plain land so to me they always look like something straight out of LOTR).

Porto is a cobblestone street city, with gothic and Manueline-style architecture that you can see all over Esperança. On the map, I found our loooooooooong steep staircases, (fuck) ctt mailboxes, gazebos, our distinct direction signs, our tall tower of clérigos, and our city hall. Also, Lusitano tile repairing is such a nice lil nod to Porto's commitment to rehabilitating our tile-decorated façades. There's also a giant Portuguese flag I forgot to screenshot that is a nod to our giant flag in Cais de Gaia (can't find a picture but it's ridiculously gigantic trust me).

Chestnuts, chouriço assado, our coffee shops filled with our traditional coffee cups, queijadas and natas (if you are from Lisbon and tell me to call it pastel de nata will literally punch you this is Porto map so it's nata), and of course BREAD. In the map one of the spawns is an adega full of wine barrels - you can google it but Porto was a port (hint hint) for wine and our culture is very connected to wine. And yes we still have them and you can visit them for wine tasting.

There's our yellow metro and idk if this was intended, but we have invested a lot of money to have a TGV (high-speed train) and it's supposed to connect Porto to the capital in just 1:15 hours but it's been like a decade and only now it seems they are serious about it - anyway, I found the timetable for the highspeed amusing.

And who is the guy in the portrait? Well, he looks like 95% of all Portuguese men. If you know a Portuguese guy chances are he is short, has dark brown hair with unkept beard, and glasses too. I bet his name is Luís Miguel João Pedro.

By the way, if you don't know, Esperança means Hope.
