I've wanted to talk more about Rennala's side of the family, since I feel like I talk about the others a lot more. Also reminder that requests are open so if y'all want to talk about Elden Ring or the concept please do so.

I know I've talked about Rennala in passing, but her opinion of dreamer is really affected by how close they are to Marika/Radagon. In my concept, reader gets transported to The Lands Between after Radagon and Rennala separate, obviously since Melina and Miquella are present. Because of this, I think Rennala, at least at the beginning, holds a lot of resentment towards reader.

I feel like people forget that Marika basically took Rennala's children from her. Yes, we can assume they were mostly adults by this point, but they became part of Marika's family and in a way isolated Rennala. So I think when she sees Marika and Radagon bring in dreamer, who in her mind is some random child, she holds a lot of distain towards them. She wanted so badly to have a family with Radagon, so for him to grow so close to someone who isn't even his by blood, it destroys her.

Most of her children hold the same sentiment as her, except for Ranni. Radahn doesn't hold any strong opinions towards you and Rykard sees you as a blight on the golden horde and his family as a whole, powers be damned. Ranni, as I'v mentioned in the past, doesn't hold the same thoughts as her brothers, and takes genuine interest towards you. As I've hinted in the past, Ranni also has a connection towards sleep and dream magic, and like Miquella, is capable of with reader through dreams. Ranni views you/the dreamer as a rare bird, something people adore as long as they are caged and owned. You have no real say in the matter, from the moment you set foot in this world your fait was no longer your own. It makes her curious of you, of your world, of what will happen the more her family takes interest in you. She would be lying if she said she wasn't also fond of you, of what you have to ofter.

As time goes on, the feelings of her family change. I think the more you're forced to acclimate into this world, the more their opinion on you start to change. I've always viewed pre-Melania fight Radahn as very smart and driven, and since we don't really know about Radahn's relationship with his family, I personally like to view him as someone who was close to siblings, as close as he could be while being a commander. Because of this, I think that as he grows closer to dreamer, he desperately wants to become someone they look up to and admire. It's what makes his madness so sad. I've talked about reader's sadness when they arrive back in The Lands to see how much everything has changed, but I do think Radahn would be one of the saddest, especially when they realize that this was Melania's doing.

Rykard is actually appalled by his families behavior, and sees his father and set mothers behavior as heresy, especially before the shattering. Reader/dreamer has no connection to the Golden Order, they exist completely outside of Grace, so he has no reason to care for you. I think multiple things change his opinion, his journey towards blasphemy and his eventual involvement in the night of the black knives, his mindset starts to change. His sister is likely the one to change his opinion on you, and he starts to see your potential. He wants to know the depths of your powers, to figure out what you are truly capable of. As he is driven farther and farther away from the Golden Order, he becomes closer and closer to you until eventually you are gone, and he's driven to madness.

And finally, there is Rannala, who I despite her love for her children, takes time to grow close to you. She cant help but see you as yet another thing that takes you away from her family, even if you have no true connection to Marika. But as she slumbers, she's graced with thoughts of you. She knows of your connection to dreams, and perhaps that's why she dreams of you so often, but you're comforting in these times. You remind her when her children were young, wide eyed and awed by everything, and suddenly, you are no longer a sore spot on her heart. You are a comfort, a warmth that she's been craving ever since her family was taken from her.

Now, all of her hate is towards Marika. She hoards you, never failing to notice how she encourages you to stay close to her own children, especially her first. She is a blight, ruining everything she loves, and now she has the gaul to take you, it's not fair.

I think this tournament is making me realize that there's not a lot of inherently bad/annoying tropes, just a lot of poorly done, misunderstood, or overused tropes.

There's a fair chunk of tropes here that could be done well but a lot of stories fail to implement them well or get them wrong

Definitely, definitely. I'd say that almost any trope can be done well, and it's really just a matter of which ones are easiest to mess up and/or messed up the most. Especially in this tournament, where almost none of the tropes are inherently bad, that's really what it comes down to. I have very strong opinions on tropes, thus why I'm modding this in the first place, so I'm excited to see where this goes.

disclaimer: i am not a professional, these are just my observations that i have accumulated over the years

🌀sun in gemini-i think that people usually form strong opinions about them. definitely not the type to be seen as wallflowers. they are naturally curious and they're either shy or like to shine in the spotlight, depends on other placements. whenever they speak, people listen to them and often find them charming and funny. i think their personalities can seem intense which is why they're not for everybody, but they're not easy to read. they are adaptable and knowledgable about things that interest them. if they like to talk to you about their thoughts and ideas, you must be special to them. honestly, they have no patience for people who try to waste their time and act fake around them. they can conceal their personalities around those they do not trust.

🧞‍♀️moon in gemini-they have a lot on their minds and they feel the best when they process their emotions verbally, whether through writing or talking to someone. they probably enjoy talking to those closest to them about their emotions, but some tend to have better personal "enlightenment" when they process things in writing. their memory is amazing and they are very logical. some try to dissect their emotions outloud, while others try to supress them. they can talk about deep issues and then joke around in a matter of seconds, they're quite adaptable. they can get stuck in their head and overthink things which leads to a lot of negative emotions that they wanted to avoid in the first place. can be insensitive sometimes when it comes to analyzing other's emotions because they approach it from a logical perspective because they want to be reasonable, which may sometimes backfire or provide as good advice. unsurprisingly, they are good with words. they are emotionally connected to their moms. their moms might have been youthful, curious, and adaptable when they were little.

💠rising/ascendant in gemini-they are, in my opinion, hard to notice! they definitely have a youthful appearance and attitude as many claim, but it's not easy to spot them because of their adaptability, unless you really observe them in the wild among different types of people lol. i'll repeat this quality a lot in this post, but they too are very curious. some may not talk much, but once you ask them about something they love, you'll see that sparkle in their eyes and the yapper will awake. may appear fake while they are trying to see if they like you, but they're just protecting themselves. if they want to create a fake persona tho, they can do it easily. they explore their identities often and try to figure out who they are of, and may get confused because they change rapidly. they express themselves with their entire body lmao, especially when they are enjoying themselves. can get strong energy outbursts. they are not big fans of routine and following the rules strictly. they have a specific style most of the time, but they like to surprise themselves from time to time, to the point of confusing others haha

28. What does your Tav think of Auntie Ethel? What do they tell Mayrina?

The first time Vir meets Ethel in the Grove he can tell somethings a little… off about her, but they’ve got more pressing matters to attend to at the time so they don’t look into it too much.

The second time they meet Vir has a full ‘I knew it!’ moment as she shows her true colors after he doesn’t side with her. He convinces the brothers not to go looking for her and with some nudging from Wyll and seeing her effect on the swamp, decides it’s for the best to dispose of the hag.

Although Vir is annoyed by Mayrina’s attitude after they rescue her, he understands that sad and desperate people often lash out and they still retrieve the wand for her. He does think briefly about breaking the wand himself so she can finally grieve normally but in the end, he brings him back and gives her the wand so she can make the choice herself.

43. What does your Tav think of Jaheira and the Harpers?

Vir loves Jaheria, she fits right into their little group of misfits, and her insightfulness and sense of humor are something that he can relate to. Her calm and levelheaded nature is also something that Vir appreciates, especially as things get more hectic and they need someone to knock some sense into them.

96. Does Lae'Zel remain loyal to Vlaakith, or does she follow Orpheus? Or neither?

In Vir’s canon, Lae’zel renounces Vlaakith and leaves to join the revolution with Voss and Orpheus.

After the first meeting with Voss, it's something that looms over their relationship - Lae’zel is leaving (whether she truly wants to or not) and there is a very real possibility she might not come back, but it's far safer for everyone if she does, no matter how much it hurts.

11. What goes through your Tav's head when they wake up on the Nautiloid? Are they scared or do they push those feelings aside to focus on escaping?

He’s not particularly scared, maybe more annoyed than anything. This isn't the first time Emra’s woken up in a (very) sticky situation like this and it probably won't be the last. He’s quick to push through and try to get the fuck off the ship and preferably out of literal hell.

37. Did your Tav go to Creche Y'llek? Did they know something was up with the healer?

He did. He didn’t want to, he left his people behind decades ago and had no intention of ever returning to them, but he knew there was no other way to shake Lae’zel’s unwavering loyalty to her people.

The moment they enter the Ghustil’s office Emra already knows how this is going to end. He’s been around long enough to know that the Githyanki’s only cure for a ghaik parasite is death, and if they did have another cure it sure as hell wouldn’t be at some backwater creche. He still lets Lae’zel get into the zaith'isk though, her faith is far too strong for her to get the reality of the situation without some direct consequences.

40. Did your Tav agree to kill the Guardian or did they go talk to them instead?

Emra had no intention to kill the Guardian, but getting a direct order from Vlaakith herself pretty well guaranteed the Guardian's life out of spite alone.

Treble

99. Did Wyll get freed from Mizora? Did he save his father?

Getting Wyll out from under Mizora’s thumb was Treble’s top priority as soon she learned about his contract. Freedom is incredibly important to her so there wasn't a chance in the hells that she was gonna let a good man like Wyll be stuck doing a fiend's bidding.

As for Ulder Ravengard, Treble’s opinion of him is… less than favorable, but keeping him alive is clearly important to Wyll so when they find him in The Iron Throne she makes sure he gets out safely.

Will always be under the impression that Astrid should have become the chief of Berk, and not just because she’s a girl and i think it would be cool if a woman was in power.

1. Hiccup… doesn’t want to be chief, even in the end i don’t think he did, i think he just kind of had to, he had no dragon to ride off on whenever somebody tried to tell him to do his job.

2. She says in the second movie how amazing it would be to be chief and was really excited for hiccup and even offerred to take Toothless for rides when he’s busy.

3. She’s good at defence and has a strategic mind. I don’t know how many httyd fans have seen race to the edge, but i’m assuming it’s alot. That entire show shows Astrid planning ahead, protecting the edge and Berk when needed, her original idea for a base was a foretress (which with the trouble they get into they’d need one)

4. Even though she can get a little strict, or work herself too hard, or make a decision that seems brash or violent, Hiccup is there, Hiccup will always be by her side, and if she’s being violent, he will most likely oppose her. I think Astrid trusts Hiccup’s judgement most if the time and would listen to him.

5. We don’t see Hiccup as an actual chief too much, but even just in homecoming he was a mess. I don’t really think Hiccup is cut out for being chief.

The ideal here is that they all kept the dragons, Astrid becomes chief, and Hiccup flies into the clouds with toothless and explores around new Berk, but is there often enough incase Astrid needs him.

There she is. Everything about this is so gross and horrifying. Even in death, her body was afforded no dignity, no personhood; Rem does her best to keep the place clean and leaves flowers, but Tessla's body is still floating in a test tube, preserved and exposed in all that was done to her. God I HOPE she was already dead when her arms started falling off. I SUPER HOPE that she was already dead when her brain and eyeballs were extracted; the optic nerves being fully connected, they may have cut off the entire top half of her head to get it out relatively intact. Int he manga, at least, there's no indication that she's anything but very, very dead, but I gotta give Stampede for finding the one way this could possibly be made any worse by flashing an "ALIVE" across the screen. In the manga, I genuinely hope her body was incinerated when the ship went down. I hope her body finally got the freedom of cremation or decomposition.

Just now, I go to type a word and I spell it something like "erevicobly", which is obviously wrong, but... no idea

Well, I throw it in the search engine* and find out it's irrevocably (didn't spell it right there either, but got it close enough spellcheck could fix it)

Now you might notice something here, which is if I'd looked it up in the dictionary, I wouldn't have found it, no matter how long and hard I searched, because I'd be looking under "er" not "ir"

So do you see why that advice made me mad as hell as a kid, and I stand by my feelings today?

hi! im new to your blog and discovered you through your Matty/Taylor fake dating fic and I just loved it. I hope you update it soon because the fic is perfect. I'm fairly new to caring about Matty (and by extension Matty/Taylor) because TTPD made me so fascinated by how messy they seemed. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure when or if I'm going to be updating YKWTCI again. I've been having a lot of complicated feelings about Taylor lately and am currently not a huge fan of hers anymore- more power to the people that are, and I think she's incredibly talented, she's just not really for me anymore at the moment. I'm not saying inspiration won't strike and that I won't update it again, I just don't really have any kind of time line for it at the moment.

I also feel like I need to add a disclaimer that I really, really, really dislike Kelce and have for a very, very long time. (He's a fucking glorified oversized wide receiver and should not be part of the tight end conversations because he doesn't play the position fully- you will not be changing my mind on this I have the stats to back me up. Gronk is the greatest tight end of all time because he PLAYED THE POSITION FULLY and also Kelce only has success when runs the routes that are literally referred to as GRONK ROUTES because they where created for / popularized BY GRONK) I am a sports girlie at heart, I love football, and I hate the Chiefs so much.

In terms of The 1975 songs - WOW this feels like being asked to pick my favorite child lol I'd say start with their first self titled album and then move through the discography in chronological order.
