My comic is so pretty...

The hiatus is letting me take a little extra time on these episodes, and I'm definitely putting it to good use!!!

#almost done with my 8th episode... which will give me. two weeks. of buffer...#id really like at LEAST a month... but to be more comfortable id like two #which means 2-6 more episodes before I come back!#I've got about 7 weeks so its possible. but i do still have to finish book 4 #so much to do ..........#I decided for my next comic im doing 3 updates a month.#having 10 days instead of 7 to make an episode is such a huge huge huge difference...#difference in quality and in my health!#anyways the comic is really pretty im really happy with the work im doing rn #the environments especially. im getting to spend a nice amount of time on them and theyre turning out so nicely #its nice to be able to write with a lot of different environments and not have to redo panels when I get to them cause of time #cause every time theres a wild angle? you need a new background...#so sometimes. often actually. there just isnt the time to make the backgrounds for those and i have to make them more flat...#which is fine. it doesnt really affect anything narratively. but. idk. it's kinda sad right?#anyways yeah! 10 days will be much better.#36 episodes a year is about what ive been uploading with my hiatuses on the weekly schedule anyways!#so might as well cut out that super stressful middleman and just commit to that #52 a year is just such a huge difference and i have to accept its not possible to me #i will hurt myself trying to do that. and i want to make comics my whole life!#so i cant push myself that hard now and sacrifice my future. we're gonna go slower after this...#anyways yeah cant wait to come back but also time. if I could get an extra week like a secret one just for me #where theres no chores no nothin just me and my work #thatd be great! so go ahead and do what you gotta do to give me a little pocket dimension #me: ugh i want to return right now...#the more logical me: NO we need the time to finish everything!!!!!! Enough time has passed to where I think we can openly admit how WK has gone through seasonal rot within its previous 2 seasons and how the hype of Season 7 along with the generally positive reception is a really green flag for the show's quality.

#wild kratts #pbs kids #kratt brothers #martin kratt #chris kratt #pbs kids go #2d kratt brothers #2d martin kratt #2d chris kratt #because season 5 and 6 were.... not good to say the least #S5 took a hard plummet in quality after the Alaska special #Idk how to describe it but episodes felt more flat and basic more often than not despite there being several good ones in the mix too #S6 was slightly better but still felt more two-dimensional and basic and oddly oversaturated (and I don't just mean in the color palate)#I know Season 7's only been out for barely a year and we've only had 8-10 episodes released #But I do think that this season is substantially different than the previous two.#It feels a lot more experimental in its concepts whilst utilizing the show's strengths #Sometimes it works like with Clever the Raven or the Blue and Green special #Sometimes it doesn't like with the Mudskipper episode #But you can tell that they've some ideas in mind that you definitely wouldn't find in other seasons.#It genuinely makes me both curious and optimistic. Bc again it took 2 years to film this season.#There's definitely more time put into the writing process as earlier seasons.#I'm gonna hold some reservations until the season ends but it's shaping up to be pretty good so far.

#ramblings with major #cursing #trying to fix my sleep schedule so i can be on time at work when i have to show up ~6 hours before the store opens #meaning at least 6 hours before i usually get up on early days #and im still struggling to wake up #it doesnt help that i close the night before and if i were to pass out the moment i get home and wake up with Maybe enough time to get ready #id still only get 7 hours of sleep. so with dinner. showering. getting ready for bed. thats at least two hours lost.#and then whether or not i actually fall asleep once my head hits the pillow. well that could be a couple hours.#especially if im so stressed about waking up on time #im not gonna get sleep. i might not even wake up in time. and then i work for 8 hours.#aaaaaaaa #why cant they just close the store. for a DAY #so we can work the NORMAL HOURS

question for the fanfic readers (and writers) who are out here working full time jobs:

how/when do you make time to read/write fanfics?

my tendency to read fanfics late at night will not be such a good idea when i’m out of school and working in the real world, when i can’t just say fuck it and show up with only a few hours of sleep.

#sincerely someone who will be working an internship where i’ll be starting at 7:30 every morning #which means i’ll be waking up around 6 every day #and therefore cannot stay up until midnight reading fanfics like i’ve been doing a lot #but i still need my silly little fanfics to get through the day #and i would like the reassurance that that is still possible even when working full time #and like realistically i know i can carve out time in my day to read fanfics but like nighttime is me time #and therefore fanfic time. which is a bad habit to have really #my sleep schedule is so fucked up #oh and also while taking care of household stuff like cleaning/cooking/laundry. forgot to mention that bit #i’m also worried that if i start reading a fanfic in the morning i just won’t get anything done that day bcuz i’ll want to just read said #fanfic…that has happened before. multiple times. so it’s a valid concern #fanfics #ao3 #archive of our own #fanfic #fanfiction #fandom #reinanova rambles

quitting art aside from what I want to do for myself. ai has destroyed any market, and I do not want to have to be an influencer or internet personality for attention. I sincerely just want to paint whatever I want and live my life with more regular income and less stress. Thanks for the support.

#i actually feel very relieved making this decision #every job opening is for a super senior mega top position #all the studios are closing #i hate ai and i think it is a terrible waste of literally every resource available #while also destroying millions of jobs #which means im sure ai will thrive and never go away because we cant have good things #i thought maybe i could figure it out and keep going but i really dont care #i would be happier not having to compete with every other entry and mid level artist #while constantly looking for work 24/7 #and working literally all day and night #im just done.#theres a part of me thats sad but i will still paint for myself and thats all i care about anymore #i also cant get a job as an engineer in my area #so im going to go back to school and get some continuing education #Hopefully if i can redirect into another career #i can find more appropriate and regular work that is safe and moderately well compensated #im due in like. 6 weeks. i really just need something more consistent and art is not doing it #i may do commissions again if things ever clear up with ai #but i doubt that will happen #not even sure if i will continue to post #i dont want my time and effort used by some loser to train their ai

I'm having a real fun night wrestling with that

#add these together real quick for me #high expectations plus high capability but executive dysfunction making me fail at school for 17 years 12 grades and one year of college #fucked sleep cycle bc i was recovering from school so late into the night that i rarely got more than 6-7 hours meaning i woke up sleepy #for all of high school needing to run to school to not be late so on top of waking up late I'm also exhausted when i get to school #having friends but no real close friends *in* school plus a bad relationship giving me serious abandonment issues #and dealing with parents and family that constantly Know Better Than Me especially when im being political #plus ADHD making it difficult for me to argue effectively or even converse for a long time bc i lose focus and space out way too easily #i don't. i. i just. urgh. i know i'm a bit of a basket case but i don't have to like it #...can't even cuddle my blahaj right now... hell world hell world hell world #i think i will simply try to cry. i say try bc i spent years suppressing my ability to cry bc i was supposed to Be A Man and Men Don't Cry #so that'll probably fail. but ill try anyway. and put on some music #then fall asleep and hope that i wake up feeling a little better #...i think im an optimist bc pessimism would kill me

fellas im gonna be honest idk how many more 11 hour days i have left in me

#i speak #ugh little vent ahead in the tags #the problem is i need money. which means i need a job all year. but that job is teaching piano and i cant just stop when i get my summer jo #and i actually spend more time at work than i do studying during class terms. so its longer more exhausting days in the summer #like i can plan my study schedule around busy teaching days and evenly distribute the workload. mostly. but work is the same every day #and the thing is currently - not including the commute to my students houses- im really only teaching 4 hours a week. with commute its 6 ma #so i could take more on. and if i want to start saving up for when i move out i kinda do need to do that #but the best option then would be to start teaching on saturdays. spread out the work. and NOT do 9-8 every day of the week #but scheduling things with friends is already hard enough when i have free weekends. and i need the break #but also now im paying my mom rent because shes unemployed and financially irresponsible so i REALLY need the extra money.... ugh #just two more years of this then 5-7 years of low grad school wages and two years of residency then i never need to worry about money #or working more than 8 hour days #ever again!!!!
