I wanna flesh out a yakuza oc but every time I think about it I end up thinking about an oc of mine who already Exists who’s not a yakuza oc. but is, in fact, an oc who is a yakuza. and that fact is genuinely completely unrelated

#he existed WAY before I started playing yakuza or knew really anything about it #actually he contributes to why I got into yakuza to begin with. cause when my friend first showed me y0 I was like ough… my character #grew up in this exact environment and culture and structure and etc (son of a patriarch)#so it was legitimately a good reference for his background and stuff #I kinda wanna talk about him/his background more on here but. like i said he’s. not technically a yakuza oc #and he can’t be because he. canonically. has PLAYED yakuza. like the games EXIST cause it’s just a normal real world type universe and #I won’t get into all this much but he ends up in the states on the dl for Reasons. accidentally ends up with a son when he’s 22 (son’s #mother being significantly younger but again we’re not gonna get into THAT mess). ends up seeing the first game being sold somewhere in nyc #and is unable to restrain his curiosity about it (as an Actual Yakuza) so he ends up getting his son a ps2 for his birthday partly just #as an excuse to buy and play yakuza 1 because he NEEDS to know what’s in it #something something it ends up being a weird bonding thing with his son who’s definitely too young to be watching this game being played #(he was born the same year as haruka so he’d be like. 8-9. also already a concerningly violent child with many issues but. anyway)#something something he ends up disappearing out of the blue from the states when his son is 12 but the pastime still sticks for said son #from then on. so uh. yeah weirdly significant that these games Exist in this story/universe bdsjhfdfjnd #idk why I’m avoiding saying his name. his name’s asura. he’s a year or two older than daigo (born 1974) and his family’s supposed to be a #pretty powerful one in the tokyo area and he was supposed to be a nepo baby sorta like daigo except he’s not Technically an only child- he #has a much younger sister. but obviously she wasn’t gonna be considered for taking over their father’s seat nor would she want to #she wants absolutely nothing to do with any of it and changes her last name pretty soon after moving to the US to get away from them #no beef with her brother or anything she was just treated absolutely horribly and disgustingly by older members of their family growing up #ANYWAY I should stop talking bdshshcbsnnf I didn’t mean to infodump all this the lore is just. deep with these guys #Asura wasn’t even made to be a particularly prominent character or anything it’s his SON who’s a Bonafide Main Character and asura’s ties in #the story are mostly related to Him. (though his sister is also a pretty prominent character so there’s connection there too)#rambling #also one more note. yes. the timing and location of where asura would’ve first bought yakuza 1 means that it would most likely be the #infamous original english dub version. which is hilarious to think about #especially because his son’s mom (I keep calling her that because they weren’t really in a Relationship they just co-parented and lived #together a little less than half the time. it’s complicated) Did Not Approve of a game that Adult around their kid. so she would not be fond #of walking in the room and hearing TEN YEARS IN THE JOINT MADE YOU A FUCKING PUSSY #luckily she was so young and considered her son a lost cause and a burden as it is so. she complained but didn’t really do anything about #it. I mean shit she was like. only around 24-25 I think. but yeah

At the end of the day, I don't think the whole deal with the Herrscher of Origin made much sense yet.

Okay, she was Herrscher number "zero" and not the thirteenth...fine. But it should just mean that HoReason is actually the second. Just because the MOTHs (or Elysia herself) didn't know one of their own was born an Herrscher years before, it doesn't make it any less real and their count any less wrong. Like the fact alone that she wasn't the last one isn't enough to explain why HoReason was the first one to appear in this era. Granted, HoHuman doesn't really create a mess like the others apparently, but you can bet Otto would not just...miss an Herrscher, even if it was technically listed as the second to last in the PE records.

Hopefully Mei's Herrscher of Origin thing will clear things up, but so far it just seems like she inherited the HoO because Elysia loved her really really much.

Besides, their conclusion that Kevin should do project Stigmata because HoC was the last one before Finality... It's not like Binding and Death actually showed their faces at the end. Especially Death! You could make a point for Otto to be HoB at the end but nobody even knows about Seele's second personality. And she's not an Herrscher more than like...Sakura anyways.

#I mean it looks like the HoO was passed down just like any signet at the end?#also my brother in Christ Kevin you knew all along why making me playing the ER for 4 months??#on the other hand we weren't evene given a list with 14 Herrscher before so it was kinda pointless #I remember when HoH dropped she was kind of added to the wiki awkwardly because it was common understanding that HoC killed anyone and then #Finality appeared. there was no room for the 13th anyways in canon #Kevin also already knew so... really pointless #and Herrscher absolutely were not Human at the beginning. there was a whole bomb planted in Mei to keep the actual Herrscher in check gooff #honkai impact 3rd #raiden mei #elysian hi3 #kevin kaslana

The mainline pokemon games' poor writing is very frustrating 75% of the time because it's either close to being good or just a complete waste of potential. However the other 25% of the time I fucking love that nothing is fleshed out because then I can hit it with Autism Blast and do whatever the fuck I want

Me noticing that Nicholas Briggs is one of the executive producers & script editors for the entire new Second Doctor series Big Finish just started, as well as a director and co-writer on its first boxset: Yeah I mean that’s kinda a lot but I guess it’s to be expected, he’s like the head of the company and apparently Two’s his favorite Doctor?

Me noticing that the other script editor & co-writer, and lead producer is the same guy who wrote That Which Went Away: Oh okay now you have my attention

#second doctor era #big finish #i registered this information by noticing that i had felt my eyes widen #literally reacted before processing it that's almost kinda scary #now i dont wanna get my hopes up #but that very gay short trip is literally all we've seen so far of him writing two and jamie together #since jamie's not in this boxset #(which i've only heard a little of so far)#and let's face it we've seen 6b start before we kinda vaguely knew what to expect from this first beyond the war games set #what was always gonna be more interesting was the one question canon never has addressed - how jamie winds up with him again #they've been plenty happy to put them together but so far nobody's dared write that scene in officially published media #or even as far as i know allude to how it happened #but if this man is writing that in the next one...#god im putting the clown shoes on aren't i?#damnit i usually manage not to get my hopes up like this #i mean it's not even like i'd be hoping for anything specific really #/i/ know they're married and so do the rest of you and that's all that matters #im hardly sitting around waiting for the bbc stamp of approval #but i do sometimes wish 60s characters were given just a titch more space to be emotional in the stuff they have coming out now #bc they talk a lot about how the 60s weren't especially character driven but then they act like the only way to do that #is by making plots revolve tightly around characters #and im not complaining about that either but i do feel it ignores the rather simpler fix of just focusing on their feelings more #and still writing plots that feel of the era #it just seems like a happy medium for the things they talk about wanting to achieve in audio/writing 60s characters in the 2020s #but...hmm..#the author of that which went away is maybe one of the only people that COULD make me think a genuinely emotional reunion is on the table #so clown shoes it is then #talk to me in a year and see where that's gotten me i guess #this is one of those right-at-the-tag-limit posts isn't it?#go figure
