Whumptober 2023 | Day 28 | Prompt 28: Sacrifice
Rating: G
Words: 593
Summary: Fives sits with Echo while he grieves lost brothers.
Fives wakes up in the middle of his sleep cycle to the sound of the barrack’s door sliding open and closed. He glances at his chrono. There isn’t a shift change for another two hours. He leans over the side of his bed to look down at Echo’s lower bunk. Empty.
Worried, Fives kicks off his blankets, drops to the floor, and makes his way out of the barracks as quietly as his sleep addled brain will allow.
Fives can’t help but marvel at how quickly the destruction of the battle has been cleaned up. There are still major repairs that need to be done to the outside of the city; however, the halls, which only a few hours earlier were stained in the blood of their brothers, are back to their pristine, sterile white. Like nothing even happened, like lives weren’t lost. Swept away like a bad mark on a record.
If it had been natborns killed on their home planet…
Thinking like that doesn’t help or change anything, so Fives pushes it to the back of his mind, putting his focus on finding his batch mate. Echo doesn’t usually go off on his own, and certainly not in the middle of the night when he doesn’t have a shift of some sort. So, Fives wanders on hastened steps, checking down each hall he passes.
He ends up at their old training room, the door’s lock unactivated. He goes inside.
Echo sits on one of the benches along the far wall. He is leaning forward, elbows propped on his knees, hands knotted together in tight fists, head bowed. Fives sits down next to him but doesn’t say anything. Echo doesn’t move, absolutely still. Fives sits back against the wall, eyes taking in the familiar room shrouded in darkness, the only light coming from the safety lamps dimly illuminating the floor.
After several long minutes, when Echo still hasn’t moved or acknowledged him, Fives asks, “Are you alright?”
Echo’s head turns slightly. “I should be.”
“On who’s orders?” Fives leans forward, mirroring Echo, so that they are shoulder to shoulder. He nudges him. “Is it about Ninety-Nine?”
“It’s about all of it,” Echo growls. “It’s about every sacrifice we make for the Republic. I know what I said to Rex and Cody, but…it’s not fair. And I know that life isn’t fair, and never will be — but I’m tired of watching our brothers being used as cannon fodder.”
Fives reaches over and tugs on Echo’s wrist until Echo gives him his hand. Fives grips it painfully tight. “You can’t think like that, Echo. Our brothers deserve to be remembered for the heroes they were, for the lives they saved. Ninety-Nine died exactly where he wanted to be…on the front lines serving with his brothers. And we were there for it, Echo, we got to fight alongside him.”
Echo grips back. “I know,” he whispers.
“He’d be proud of us,” Fives goes on, “becoming ARCs. Domino Squad too. After they got over the shock, that is.”
A ghost of a smile trembles on Echo’s lips. “You didn’t seem surprised today, when they told us about our promotions.”
“I’ve always known we’d make ARCs someday,” Fives says.
“You could’ve let me in on the secret.”
Fives chuckles. “And ruin the surprise? I wouldn’t deprive you of that.”
“I miss them, Fives.” Echo’s voice breaks on the syllable of Fives’ name.
Fives wraps an arm around Echo’s shoulders, holding tight. “I know. I miss them too.”
And that’s when Echo finally begins to cry.

Concept art by Christian Alzmann, of Kuiil holding Grogu while riding a blurgg with ex-Imp Stormtroopers chasing them on speeder bikes. Setting is Nevarro. Image from The Mandalorian, Season 1, Episode 7, The Reckoning. Calendar by DataWorks.
The following story, I have Spoken, was originally published on October 20, 2023.
Grogu wasn’t sure that his dad would agree to his plan. He hoped that the Mandalorian would, but Din Djarin was a tricky character and he might say no. Grogu really didn’t want that. He needed to get the Mandalorian into the right frame of mind. He would have to wage a subtle campaign that would allow the bounty hunter to only say yes. Grogu knew it was a tall order, but he was a Jedi and there was only ‘do or do not’. He was definitely embracing ‘do’.
He formulated his plan and he began to implement almost immediately. First things first he was going to gently remind the Mandalorian of the things they did when they first met. Then he was going to expand on how the people they met along the way had helped them both learn more about each other and then finally he would focus on the subject of the request and make sure that Din Djarin felt as sentimental and vulnerable as possible. Then he would pounce and ask his question.
That morning Grogu pulled out all of his drawings and began to put them in chronological order. He left a few out on purpose and hid them at the bottom of the drawer he used for ‘work in process’. Once he had them in a deliberate order he went over to the spot where his dad was reading through a technical briefing on the potential pitfalls of further enhancement of the N-1’s engine sub-structure. Grogu had to work hard to stay awake because the boredom that crashed over him just asking his dad what he was doing was just that powerful.
“What’s up buddy? Not interested in ship upgrades?” Din asked, not expecting what was next.
Grogu thrust the pile of drawings at him and indicated that he wanted Din’s help in going through them. His dad had accepted the request immediately, which proved to Grogu that even the Mandalorian was finding that technical briefing document boring. Grogu giggled quietly at that.
“Ah, your drawings. Let’s see.” The Mandalorian began to flip through them and, as Grogu expected, began to rearrange them when he found ones that were out of chronological order. Grogu knew that salting the trap that way was a good idea. It forced his dad to be more engaged in remembering what had happened and that was crucial to the overall success of Grogu’s mission.
“Buddy, what happened to those those drawings you did of Kuiil? I’m sure you did a few of him and the blurggs.” Din asked as he went through the pile a second time.
Grogu coo’d and chirped, looking very sorrowful.
“You didn’t think they were good enough? I don’t know pal, I think they were pretty good. Do you still have them?”
Grogu nodded and hopped down from the table and trotted over to his WIP drawer and pulled those drawings out. He brought them over to the table and hopped back up and handed them to his dad.
Din looked at each one, put it in chrono order, but not into the bigger pile, and studied them carefully.
“Didn’t you do one when we were negotiating with the Jawas? Or the time he fixed IG-11 and Cara Dune was with us? After all you included the one when I fell off the blurgg.”
Grogu pretended to sigh and said he just didn’t think his drawing skills were up to replicating those scenes well enough. Since Din was so busy with other things, he didn’t like to ask for his help, although he really needed it.
He waited quietly to see if his dad would take the bait. This was a very tricky moment. Sometimes the Mandalorian realized that Grogu was up to something when he was being quiet and serious on a beautiful day when he could have been outside chasing frogs. Fortunately, the day was kind of dreary and overcast and that’s why they were both in the cabin doing quiet work to begin with.
“I have some time before I make us lunch. I can try to help. Which scene do you want to do?” Din Djarin asked thoughtfully.
Grogu sighed a little and said that any scene that Din remembered that Grogu didn’t would be fine. This was a risky gambit. Of course Grogu couldn’t have drawn a picture of Kuiil from a time he hadn’t seen or met the Ugnaught but he thought that if he could get his dad to remember something special about Kuiil that he uniquely knew about, his plan would be more likely to succeed.
“Okay, pal. After you helped me with mudhorn you ended up sleeping for a while. Kuiil helped me get you back to the ship and we said out first goodbyes. How about I draw that for you and you can color it in?”
The Mandalorian wasn’t sad, but he wasn’t really happy either. Perfect. Grogu nodded his head and then made sure that his dad had the time and tools to draw the scene he’d described. It took a little while, but this is where all that training as a bounty hunter’s apprentice was coming into play. Grogu needed his dad to be really emotionally engaged in the project.
That first drawing was almost magical. The darkness, the light, the image of Kuiil sitting on the blurrg. Grogu could almost hear him saying ‘I have spoken!’. He coo’d a soft thank you to his dad and made sure that he sniffed just a little bit.
Din looked over at him and groaned.
“Grogu, are you crying? I know. I miss Kuiil too. He was a good friend and we didn’t get to spend enough time with him.”
Grogu nodded and looked sad and tried not to blow the moment. He needed to be patient and wait for the just the right moment to spring the question on his dad. He carefully reached for the drawing so he could study it and consider what he should do.
“Hey, buddy. Would you like to go to the Clan Mudhorn festival dressed as Kuiil? I could even make you a small blurgg to ride?”
Dank Farrik! Din Djarin must be able to use the Force!
He figured out exactly what Grogu wanted without Grogu even having to ask his question! You couldn’t do that without having some ability to use the Force. Wow!
Of course he told his dad yes! Then he wrote a note in his diary to make sure that he kept an eye on his dad for other examples of him using the Force. He didn’t want to forget about that with all the excitement of making the Kuiil costume, because that was going to be great. He has spoken!

BLACK HOLE SUN VORTEX WOMB OF CREATION:
THOSE AREN'T HANDS, THOSE ARE SERPENTS COMING OFF OF THE SUN IN THE MIDDLE, SOME OF WHICH HAVE THE BREATH OF LIFE IN THEIR MOUTH. THE ANKH BREATH OF LIFE IS ALSO THE SYMBOL FOR THE GATE OF THE GODS, THE VESICA PISCIS. THEY ARE SERPENTINE SPIRIT SOULS FROM THE GREAT MOTHER, AND WHEN THEY HONOR YOU WITH THEIR PRESENCE, THEY BRING WITH THEM THE BREATH OF LIFE. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE HEAD OF MEDUSA IS A MODEL IN MYTHOLOGY OF THE BLACK HOLE SUN WOMB OF CREATION VORTEX. THIS IS ALL GODDESS SYMBOLOGY THAT USED TO BE PREVALENT.
I WANT EVERYONE READING THIS TO BECOME AWARE OF THE CAMPAIGN BY THE EVIL ONES, MAINLY OF THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS, TO VILIFY AND WRITE THE DIVINE FEMININE GODDESS OUT OF HISTORY, SLANDER THE DIVINE FEMININE GODDESS GREAT MOTHER DRAGON, AND TRY AND TURN HER INTO THEIR DEVIL. THEN THEY WENT AND TRIED TO SAY THAT THE THOUGHT WAVEFORM SERPENTINE SPIRIT CHILDREN THAT COME FROM HER WERE DEMONS.
IT'S OBVIOUSLY A FAT LOAD OF CRAP, AND AS YOU CAN SEE THE DIVINE FEMININE IS 100% LEGITIMATE. THAT MEANS THAT THE PEOPLE TRYING TO WRITE THE DIVINE FEMININE OUT OF HISTORY ARE REALLY TRYING TO CON AND ROB EVERYONE, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE DIVINE FEMININE FOR ANYTHING TO BE IN BALANCE AND MAKE SENSE WITH THE DIVINE MASCULINE. SO IF THEY TOOK THE DIVINE FEMININE OUT OF THE EQUATION WHEN IT OBVIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE THERE, AND KEPT TELLING THEIR TALES OF LIES, OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE TRYING TO CON, ROB, AND SCAM EVERYONE. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THEY BRUTALLY MURDERED AT LEAST 80 MILLION PEOPLE. THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOAD OF CRAP WITH NO REAL ANSWERS OR TRUTH, AND I'VE SEEN AND EXPERIENCED MORE THAN ENOUGH TO PROVE IT AN INFINITE NUMBER OF TIMES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
THE SAD THING IS, A LOT OF PEOPLE MISS OUT ON THE TRUE POWER AND MAGICK OF THE DIVINE FEMININE GREAT MOTHER GODDESS, BECAUSE THE EVIL ONES OF THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS DESTROYED SO MUCH OF THE HISTORY AND KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM ASSOCIATED WITH THE DIVINE FEMININE AND THE GODDESS. IT STILL EXISTS, IT'S BEEN PASSED DOWN IN VARIOUS WAYS AMONGST THOSE IN THE CRAFT OF THE WISE, AND AS SOON AS MORE PEOPLE OPEN THEIR EYES TO SEE THAT CHRISTIANITY AND THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL SCAM AND CON, IT'S A PRETTY SURE BET THAT THE PEOPLE LOOKING FOR THE REAL ANSWERS WILL ONCE AGAIN PUT TOGETHER THE WISDOM OF THE DIVINE FEMININE SO THAT THERE CAN BE THE TRUE BALANCE OF THE DIVINE MASCULINE AND THE DIVINE FEMININE ONCE AGAIN, AND A GOLDEN AGE OF WISDOM BORN AGAIN THAT WILL HOPEFULLY LAST, AND DEFEAT ANY MORE TYRANTS THAT TRY TO PROSTITUTE SACRED THINGS IN ORDER FOR THEIR OWN SELFISH GAIN AT THE EXPENSE OF EVERYONE ELSE LIKE THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS AND THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

Such a dapper demon birb. I love putting him in random outfits ;)
The first one is vaguely 1920's inspired because I'd been rereading Chrono Crusade and I do love me some period clothing, and the rest is just for fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(But also imagine an AU where Ren and Arsene get transported into the past and have to figure out how to get back to the present, only to run into Rosette on a mission. Rosette would be like: Ya also got contracted to a demon, huh? Is he friendly at least?
And Ren and Arsene would just,,, go along with it, somehow ending up at the church. Upon being questioned what fuels the contract, Ren would be like: ...my soul? And Rosette would cheer. Then the three of them (and Chrono) would wreak havoc on Aion's plans and save Joshua, haha)
A little (ok it turned longer than I'd thougth) snippet under the cut bc I got inspired.
---
Rosette stares at the demon-human pair across the street, silently wondering if she should reach for the seal of her watch or if she should shoot at him while his attention is towards the young man he's currently fussing over. She's never really seen a demon who didn't at least try to blend into the surrounding humans unless it was in the throes of an attack, but this one -- while having a humanoid shape -- has a very distinctly non-humanoid skintone and face. Compared to Chrono, who is often mistaken for an Indigenous kid with his dark hair and sun-kissed complexion, whose only giveaway of his demonic nature were his pointy ears and red-slit pupils, the obsidian-skinned demon across the street was a great warning sign.
"Chrono!" She hisses, eyes never leaving the demon as he adjusts the paperboy hat on his... contractor? Lunch? Next victim? "Who is that?"
Chrono shoots her a glare, though he's also focused on the demon, eyes furrowed. "I don't recognize him," he admits, "and I can't get a read on his power other than that it feels cursed."
Rosette blows out a breath she hadn't noticed she'd been holding. "That doesn't narrow anything down, buddy." She moves her hand from the latch of her seal to her trusty gun, lamenting that she doesn't have any of the nifty and new blessed rounds on her because Kate is stingy at the best of times.
...
"...the demon isn't even trying to hide-- are those wings? I thought that was a cape!" He had great feathered wings folded against the fabric of his trenchcoat, and Rosette wonders how no-one around them notices that he was very clearly not human.
"Rosette, don't do anything harsh!" Chrono tries, but by then Rosette is already marching over, never good at doing things like waiting or following orders. Chrono sighs in exasperation and carefully follows after his stubborn contractee, her blonde hair and blue Magdalen uniform easy to track even amongst the afternoon crowd.
He catches up to her right when she stopped in front of the dark-haired human and is already running through possible escapes in his mind when Rosette shoots the mysterious demon a look. She even has her gun out and visible, as if that would intimidate any demonic being other than maybe low-ranking legion constructs. "What are you doing with the boy, huh?" She asks, sotto voce.
Chrono felt like burying his face in his hands. So much for remaining calm in this highly strange situation. At least this demon seems more amused than anything, if his tilted head is any indication. The human splutters. "I'm sorry--" he starts, and Rosette steamrolls over him.
"You know that that's a demon, right? Are you in danger? I'm with the Magdalen Order, if you need help you can just say so."
"...ah," Chrono mutters, helpless. The demon and young man -- he's really not a boy, considering he seemed a few years older than Rosette -- share a glance, before the human looks down at himself.
"...we've been shopping, actually, because someone insisted that I need to try to blend in with the locals better."
"Thou do, yes. I'd like to think I've done a pretty good job of it, too." The demon says, his voice echoing in a way Chrono recognizes from high-ranking telepaths. Slightly echo-y, both loud and somehow in the mind. Humans weren't made for telepathy, so he doubted Rosette noticed anything weird about his voice, though maybe Satella or Azmaria would notice it.
The human rolls his eyes and turns back towards Rosette, expression wry. "I'm Ren Amamiya, this is my partner Arsene, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ms Magdalen Order."
Rosette splutters and introduces herself and Chrono after a second, and he focuses on Arsene's face to figure out if recognition will flash in those fiery eyes or not. The demon appears amused at her behavior but not otherwise murdery. He doesn't even appear to recognize Chrono's name, for whatever reason.
And then Chrono blinks. "...partner?" He asks, unsure if he's misheard. He and Rosette share a pointed glance, Chrono's eyes falling to her contract watch, before they turn back towards the two. Rosette's at least packed away her gun, finally.
"Yep," Ren says, popping the 'p', something wary in his posture all of a sudden.
Rosette stares. Chrono has a sudden, bad feeling about this. "...you know that he's a demon." She starts.
"He's certainly a devilish fiend, yes." Ren says, with amusement.
"And you're contracted to each other?" Rosette continues.
"For a given manner of the word, oui." Arsene answers this time, something cautious in his tone.
"Hush. I'm talking to Ren. You know that he's feeding on your soul if you're contracted."
Ren eyes her, and then Chrono, and then Arsene before his gaze falls back to Rosette's, something calculating in it that reminds Chrono dangerously of Aion, back when everything had been normal and before their Rite of Tuning. "You could almost say that we're of one soul, considering we share it."
Rosette nods, lost to the minute details that Chrono's been noticing. "And you still call him your partner and seem friendly towards him?" She asks, hands on her hip, any previous anymosity forgotten. Sometimes, Chrono despaired. Ren and Arsene share another glance before Ren smiles at them with a gentle shrug.
"Of course. The only people who have to worry about Arsene being a danger are husbands." After a beat of silence, he adds: "Because he loves to flirt with women," which lowers Chrono's hackles. Arsene rolls(?) his eyes good-naturedly.
"I was haggling down the price of thy hat, dear." He says, and Rosette snorts at that, completely at ease even while Chrono can't get the feeling off of his chest that this was one strange demon.
But then again, didn't he have to flee Pandemonium in the first place because he and the other Sinners had been 'strange' in the eyes of the Elders as well? Failures? It's possible that Arsene was running low on legion or was otherwise running low on astral and that was why he wasn't trying to appear particularly human, or maybe he's never gotten the hang of it in the first place, like Shader.
...though he did still have his horns, so he should be able to channel the astral energy and shouldn't even need a contract in the first place, unless he was otherwisely hurt somehow -- Chrono knows that they'd spoken the truth about 'sharing' Ren's soul, because the human's imprint was all over Arsene. It's possible that the other demon wasn't as strong as Chrono and thus could keep an open line to the human without quickly draining him like Chrono always did to Rosette whenever she opened the seal, because he had been a very strong demon in his prime, and was still powerful even with the restrictions.
"Ah, we wouldn't want to impose..." Ren says, carefully, and Chrono notices that he's completely tuned out of the discussion like an idiot. He's immediately back on high alert, but no-one's seemed to have died in the interim, so he calms down again.
Rosette is all smiles. "Nope, consider it an apology that I was so harsh to you two earlier." She says, and Ren demurrs a moment later:
"In that case, we'll gladly tag along to dinner with you." He says, with a nod from Arsene, and Chrono... blinks.
With what funds? Not the Orders, right, Rosette? He thought, but of course there was no answer from Rosette as she talked about the excellent selection of meat-based dishes from Antonio's.
Not the Order's funds, Rosette! Chrono despaired.

Confidental Composition//Bakugo
!!!MINORS DNI!!! 18+ONLY !!!
This is the first part of my little 'Teachers Pet Series' (I will add the link once I got all parts covered and the right ideas).
Summary: A simple task fucked up late at night as you send the wrong version of a piece of homework to your English literature teacher Mister Bakugo. Of course, he would want to see you after class the next day. But not for the reasons you might think. Pairing: Docent!Bakugo x afab!student!y/n // Words: 4.2k+ Side note: Insert a friend or random name you want for X :)
TW: nsfw: slow burn (sorry), spanking with a ruler, hair pulling, being bend over a desk, calling him sir, spitting, choking, dirty talk, degrading, slight praise
„Write an essay about the worst description of a woman or coitus. In the essay, explain why it is bad and then rewrite it. At least 30 pages, max. 60 pages (sources and any other extras you please to include, excluded). Due Date: 8 weeks from now on, 35% worth of your end grade. Questions can be asked per E-Mail, or, if you must, I’m free every Wednesday afternoon for meetings strictly for this essay and this essay only.“
A sigh left your lips as you starred at the piece of paper for the tenth time today ever since he handed it out to you and your classmates. The options you had were endless, you knew so many bad pieces about both topics and could write more than 100 pages about them as well. Everyone in class you talked to had decided on their topic already, some were even further. It was X who told you to just write the topics on a piece of paper and let fate do its work.
Black ink on a badly ripped blue note decided that you were going to write about a sex scene. Just now that you thought about it, rewriting something like that for your professor to read was an awfully stupid idea, yet you decided to listen to a small piece of paper.
At first, you were going to go with Fifty Shades of Grey but you felt like the choice was chewed up and spat out. It took you three days to finally decide on a book and once you settled there was no turning back. Considering your ignited interest in this topic you weren’t surprised when you were done within the first four weeks. Knowing the editing is going to take another week, maybe even a week and a half, you decided to take a small break, just one or two days off. On your second day, you decided to visit the new coffee shop that had just opened up around the corner.
Never had you expected to see your professor near your living spot. You were about to greet him when you noticed his pissed-off expression on his face and only now did you spot the woman behind him. She grabbed his arm and made him turn on the relatively small and empty street.
„Suki you can’t be serious,“ she was angry and hurt, while he seemed to be angry and annoyed. Not much of a difference than to how you see him on the daily, to be honest. „Are you fucking stupid? Of course, I’m fucking god damn serious. It was your choice to cheat on me and now I choose to throw you on the streets where you apparently belong, go ask one of your little boy toys to take you in for all I care,“ you were frozen in place, not entirely sure what to do. Right now your eyes were glued on his chest that was clad in a tight, black pullover, rising up and down heavily as his nostrils were flared caused by his anger. „Because you gave me no choice! If you like that sort of weird, rough shit then paddle your own canoe! I need something soft and tender-,“ before she could finish her sentence he laughed. Cold and slightly maniac in a way.
„Then get some fucking chicken! If you don’t like how I’m in bed then break up with me and piss off but don’t send my best friend a nude to ask him to come over. Even a ten-year-old would see how stupid that is,“at that moment your eyes met. His eyebrows were furled together, red eyes expression furry and disgust. Blond hair usually styled like he was going to be on the cover of Vogue, like he had been before, now slightly messy. Plump lips slightly apart to let his teeth shine through slightly before wetting them with his tongue. Your eyes widened and before you knew what you were doing you waved at him, making him cock his eyebrows in confusion for a second before noticing it was you who he was looking at. Turning on your heels you walked past busy crowds of people as you walked back home, trying to understand what you had just seen and why your angry professor had turned you on more than anyone had done before.
It was a stupid idea to ditch the next teaching unit of his but you had absolutely no clue how you were going to look at him. You knew teachers had a private life themselves, but never would you have guessed that you would run into one of them in your small area. As far as you knew he lived across town according to the very, very few private stories he had shared in magazines.
„Dear Professor,
down below is my finished project as an attachment in form of a PDF. I know you request it to be printed as well and I had planned to hand it in today, but sadly I came down with the flu. I’m looking forward to attending your next unit in the following week.
Have a nice week,
Y/N Y/L/N“
Maybe he had forgotten that you were there already and you were worrying too much about it. You were his student, nothing more, nothing less. Bakugo could care less about you, right? The flu did go around a lot right now, so it wouldn’t be completely unthinkable that you were sick. Itching eyes signaled you that it was time to go to bed now, so you closed your laptop and went to bed, not knowing what the next day will hold for you.
X had waited for you at the main entrance the next day to give you all the information you might need and ask why you weren’t there, considering it was obvious that you had the flu for one day only. At first, you were hesitant to explain what you had witnessed, it was messy already and you doubt Mister Bakugo would want the fight to go viral at his workplace. „Just one of those days you know? I had my mind completely full and felt like crap,“ that was the best excuse you could come up with, a white little lie that wouldn’t harm anyone. „Glad to see you’re doing- Oh, hello Professor,“ X smiled at someone behind you. There was no need to turn around to know who it was, the scent of his very expensive and extremely beguiling perfume clouding your mind. „Hello,“ his gruff voice greeted your friend shortly as you turned around, met with his muscular chest. You didn’t expect him to be so close to you, but here you were, tilting your head slightly as you looked up to him through your lashes, feeling not just your cheeks growing hot. „Good morning Sir,“ your voice sounded a lot more confident than you were feeling. Bakugo clenched his fist around the fake leather of his bag, his red eyes starring right into your soul as you had no chance of escaping whatever was going to happen next. „Miss Y/L/N, just the person I was looking for,“ fuck. „You were?“ X and you said at the same time, but your friend decided to excuse themself after a single glare from the older man. „How may I help you, Professor?“ You asked after swallowing down the anxious feeling that threatened to rise. „I received your Mail yesterday, with the PDF,“ okay, why did he search you just to tell you he got your assignment? Was it that bad? „But I’m relatively sure that it was the wrong one, considering I doubt that you want your teacher to know that 'this shit is so bad, but I wouldn’t mind being bent over a writing desk like that' with a smirking emoji at the end,“ only when his finger pushed your chin upwards gently you noticed that it was agape, shame filling every molecule in your body as you already planned your escape out of this country. Nobody was near you to see the weirdly intimidating scene happening between you and your teacher.
„Also I know you didn’t have the flu. I don’t appreciate being lied to. Tomorrow five p.m. in my office, don’t be late or you will get in more trouble. Send me the actual version tonight so I can grade it. I won’t let something as unprofessional as this slide again, understood?“ You nodded, taking in all of the information given to you, and somewhat in all of this mess felt thankful that he was giving you a second chance. The man in front of you rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue, ordering you to speak up. „Yes Sir, thank you,“ you sounded more confident than you felt inside. „Good,“ was all Bakugo said before he turned around, leaving you behind in the big hall dumbfounded and confused… And horny.
As if Chronos himself felt immense joy in your misery, minutes appeared to be hours and the panic inside of you only grew the closer you came to five in the afternoon. You tried everything, watching a show, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, reading a book you had put of for so long, went outside, cooked something, worked on another assignment, stopped yourself from destroying your hair, made the phone call you so desperately had put off and it’s still only ten p.m on the same day. How was that even possible? As you laid in bed you tossed and turned, the thought of your really hot teacher all angry, breathing heavily, his hands roaming your body. It was hard to pinpoint exactly when those thoughts turned into a very lucid dream, but when you woke up in the morning, already an hour too late to your first period, all you wanted to do was scream into your pillow.
Considering first class is canceled, you wanna go grab breakfast? X texted you.
Canceled? Checking your mails you saw your teacher had sent out a mail, excusing themselves and explaining they came down with the flu. A blessing in disguise. You let X know that you would meet up at the building and go grab something near it. Once agreed, you took a quick shower, a moment of peace given to you as water hit your body. There was no way you could do anything between your last class and the meeting with Professor Bakugo, so you tried to look your best possible for the next upcoming hours.
Suddenly time flew by and the closer you got the more you begged for a little bit more time, for him to postpone it, anything. But no, here you were, five minutes early and looking around to spot the blond man with no luck. „Miss Y/L/N. Step inside,“ you jumped slightly as his voice boomed up behind you, not expecting him to be in the office already.
Once you walked inside you were stunned about how clean everything was, no matter where you looked it was neat. His books were sorted alphabetically with marks between them to let him know when a new letter began. As far as you could tell he used cherry wood for his pieces of furniture, a big, black carpet in a corner underneath a small seating area, and some books placed on the table. Even his paperwork was stacked in order. Big glass windows allowed the evening sun to fall into the room, its warmness kissing your skin while you were seated in front of him, a big writing desk between the two of you, on it your work.
It was quiet for a short moment, before he leaned back in his chair, red eyes mustering you up and down which didn’t help at all. „What would you like to talk about first? Your assignment or the fact that you lied to me?“ Why was he so bothered by your lie? You knew plenty of students calling in sick every once in a while even though they aren’t. „I apologize for both of it. It shouldn’t have happened and I learned from my mistake,“ you were hoping that it would ease his anger a little bit but he seemed more worked up than usual. „Although I don’t understand why you are so angry at me for it? Plenty students lie-,“ „Yes, but they aren’t stupid enough to make it so obvious,“ he interrupted you. „I could care less about who’s missing my class, it’s their fault in the end if they decide learning is unnecessary. However you are one of my top students, I expected better from you. You could have excused yourself with no explanation. But you chose to add the feeble lie about being sick for what?“
You took in a deep breath, feeling as if another lie would be caught immediate, so you had no other choice but to tell him the real reason: „I heard the fight you had with the woman you were with, in the café, and I didn’t know how to react when I see you in your class,“ there was a small moment where he looked honestly confused before something clicked in his brain. „So it was you who I saw. What did you hear?“ „I can’t really rem-,“ „One more lie and I will lose my temper, don’t test me,“ shit, why was he turning you on so much right now. He’s your teacher for god’s sake and angry at you, this wasn’t the right time. „That she doesn’t agree with certain things in your private life,“ „Like?“ he knew you tried to talk around it, yet he wanted you to talk about, to see you embarrassed again, he liked that look on you. „The way you fuck,“ it was said before your brain could even comprehend the words, another apology laying at the tip of your tongue but his next question cut you off before you could say something else. „Why were you there in the first place? I’ve been there a few times and never saw you or any other student,“ he explained. „Because I live close by?“ It sounded more defiantly than you had wanted, causing your opponent to cock his eyebrow.
„I feel like you’re forgetting who’s the authority figure here,“ he walked up to his door, locking it before coming back. Now he was right in front of you, slightly sitting on his desk and the sleeves of his button-up shirt pushed up a little. „No sir, I’m sorry,“ „You see, the problem is, I don’t really believe you,“ with that he pulled you up, bodies pressed against each other, letting you feel his toned torso while the muscles in his arms flexed slightly.
„You lied to me once already, I think I have to teach you a lesson,“ everything happened so fast and you suddenly found yourself face down on his desk with his hand between your shoulder blades, the other one grabbing his wooden ruler. „If I recall correctly this is what you wanted right?“ His voice was low, slightly above a whisper as his upper body was pressed against your back while he pulled a few hair strands from your face. „Yes, but Professor I don’t think this is a good idea,“ your inner voice yelled at you, saying this was the best idea ever, angry that you possibly ruined your dreams coming true.
„Tell me to stop and I will do so immediately. Your choice. There will be no consequences if you worry about that,“ he reassured you, waiting for you to get up and run, but you didn’t and the current position allowed him to feel you clench your legs. „So?“ He asked again, the ruler in his hand basically burning with the anticipation of hitting your skin. „No, don't stop,“ you breathed, awaiting his next move.
„Good,“ with that he exposed your raised ass, your underwear the only thing between your bare skin and the wood that came down upon it, one foot raising in the air because of the sudden pain. „From now on if you say stop I won’t listen, you will tell me how you feel through colors. If it’s too much you tell me red and I will drop everything, understood?“ Another spank was delivered to the same spot.
„Yes,“ another one. You weren’t sure if he hit harder or if your skin turned more sensitive with every blow.
„It’s sir to you,“ you could feel him lunge out but shortly before the ruler came down he stoped, laughing slightly at your small jump.
„Yes sir,“ another one.
„You’re going to apologize every time my ruler paints your cute ass even redder, got it?“ You nodded your head, a moan escaping the back of your throat as he spanked you yet again.
„One more thing, be a good girl and stay quiet, wouldn’t wanna get caught now do we?“ He knew it was going to be torture for you to follow his order the more he continued and in a way he wanted you to fail. There was so much build-up inside of him and it appears that you were willing enough for him to use you as he pleased. That’s why you were his favorite. Bakugo knew what he was doing was wrong and he never expected to feel this way for one of his students but forbidden fruit tastes the best.
You stopped counting after the seventh blow, sorries, sirs and small whimpers fall from your lips as if they were your whole vocabulary. At one point you started crying, tears mixed with mascara running down your cheeks. He tried to remember something that turned him on more than the sight of your messed-up body with no luck. Everything build up inside of him, everything itching in his hands, the inner desires he had to soften for his ex, it all was going to come down on you. His thick girth twitched at the simple thought of finally being surrounded by your dripping wet cunt.
A warm soft hand rubbed over your bruised flesh while the other one found its way into your hair to pull you up to him, your back arched.
„What are you sorry for?“ Your mind was clouded with pleasure and pain, the only thought right now was the feeling of his dick print right between your sore cheeks. „I asked my little bitch a question, I expect you to fucking answer,“ this time he spanked you with his hand but it was just as intense as his ruler. „I don’t know,“ you breathed, a soft moan slipping out of you when his thumb barely circled your throbbing clit. „You’re just apologizing because you want me to use you?“ You could hear him chuckle lowly before he pushed your underwear to the side, his middle finger now playing with you. „Yes sir,“ Katsuki couldn’t hear a single ounce of shame in your voice and he wondered how long you had been thinking about him like this before.
„I never expected you to be such a dumb, cock hungry whore,“ The sound of his belt hitting the floor was dull like it was far away from you but at the same time, you felt him closer than before. Strong hands around your waist turned you around and once again he lifted your head with his finger underneath your chin, studying your ruined make-up as if he was memorizing every little detail he never wanted to forget. The blond, muscular man lifted you with ease, your behind getting a small moment of cooling as it hit his wooden desk.
Bakugo dried your tears slightly with his thumb, smearing it even more. „Only for you,“ you whispered and in that moment he couldn’t stop himself, he just had to kiss you. Not sweet and gentle, but passionately and hungry, like he was poisoned and your kiss was the antidote. The hand behind your head traveling to the front as you were laid down completely.
„If I had known before I would have fucked you so much sooner,“ with one hard thrust he was buried deep inside of you, one hand over your mouth because he knew you wouldn’t be able to keep quiet and the other one around your throat, squeezing shut and watching you struggle against it slightly. Your professor was thicker than what you were used to and you didn’t know how good it would feel until now. With the first few snaps of his hips, you knew you never wanted to feel something else anymore.
Your hands went to his arms and you tugged on them, causing him to let go as the blood found its way back to your brain. „Color?“ he asked, afraid you weren’t able to handle him. „Green,“ was all you could get out before another moan cut off your ability to talk.
„Good girl,“ he whispered into your ear, kissing down from your earlobe to your shoulder before sucking on a rather sensitive spot. Both of your wrists were held over your head with his left hand, with the explanation that he doesn’t appreciate being stopped while using you however he pleased. The right hand was going from between your chest after he admired your bouncing tits thoroughly, to your stomach to connect with your most sensitive bundle of nerves. Bakugo switched from circles to eights, from fast to slow, but the harshness of his hips never haltered.
„I know you wanna scream right now, but I can’t allow that. Can’t let others hear what a dirty slut you are for me right now. I promise I will fuck you in my house if you behave now. You can moan my name as much as you want. Or maybe I will gag you, watch you drool all over yourself. Maybe I will tie you up and edge you for an hour straight until you’re begging me to fuck you, you like the sound of that, huh? I can feel you squeezing around me,“ another chuckle left his plump lips as he watched you struggle to stay up on your feet.
„Maybe I will let you choke on my dick while I work on something for the next lesson. Gonna use you as my little cum dump. Let you think about it again when I talk about it in front of the whole class. Do-,“ you were so close when a sudden knock on the door startled you both, but he never once stopped what he was doing, if anything he went even harder, whispering into your ear to be quiet for him.
„Hey Kat, your ex is outside and says she wants to talk, want me to send her in?“ It was the psychologist professor Shinso, his voice as done and deep as usual. „No, I’m occupied,“ Bakugo saw your mouth open after you fought so hard against it, he couldn’t let you moan, not right now. He did the first thing he could think of, spitting into it and watching you swallow. Oh, he would definitely film you do this with his cum covering you everywhere and the thought brought him slightly closer to his release. „Still grading papers huh? I don’t get where you got all of that energy from,“ his voice was blurred out by Bakugo whispering into your ear. „Do you want me to tell you what we're doing right now? Let him know I’m fucking my little toy stupid right now?“ And while you were shaking your head no it was the last straw for you and you found yourself grabbing his hand to put over your mouth, biting your lips until you tasted blood to muffle the scream you couldn’t stop. Bakugo cursed under his breath when he could feel you throbbing around his dick and your nails digging into his arm. „Tell her to leave me the fuck alone, she’s already forgotten,“ his voice sounded strained and you knew he was close as well. „Ah, I see. Well then have fun,“ his laugh was fading away the further he went.
„Can’t believe that made you cum, you’re even more perfect than I thought, such a dirty girl, tsk,“ both his hands are on your hips and he pulled your body against him with every thrust. You were still coming down from your orgasm when you felt his thrusts turning sloppy before he stopped completely, his dick now pulsing while he was holding you tightly. Breath uneven and getting stable on his feet again he turned you around, careful so he wouldn’t hurt you.
„Next time I gonna make sure you can’t walk but right now I need you to be able to leave the building,“ he pulled his pants back up and added: „Sadly,“ before walking around his desk.
It was still hard for you to stand so you sat down, wincing as the usually soft cushion now felt like thousand of tiny spikes on your bruised ass. Before you pull your bottoms up again he grabbed your wrist and pulled you up, once again with a stern expression on his face you were so familiar with.
„I apparently really fucked you stupid if you think I let you leave like this,“ having him put cooling cream on your bare bum felt more intimate than having him be balls deep inside you. „Sorry I just thought-,“ „Well, you thought wrong. I don’t know what kind of boys you had in the past but now that you have me there are going to be changes, got that?“

“This is enforcement team three, responding to request for assistance at broadcast building nine.”
The enforcer car sped through the well-lit streets like a blade of grass dancing in the wind; swerving between other vehicles and pedestrians almost as if it was liquid curving around a hard surface. The lights from virtual billboards lining the streets each casting another shade of color as enforcer Gavrin hung up his transponder as he rounded another corner and avoided a headlong collision with pedestrians.
“Will you slow down!?”
Gavrin was too focused on the road to respond to his partner’s pleas as they continued to speed towards broadcast building nine.
Jimble had his three hands pressed against the roof of the enforcer car for stability and shot another scornful glare at Gavrin.
“What the flartack has gotten into you, Gavrin?” Jimble said as they hit a speed bump and lurched through the air for a few moments before crashing down to the hard road again. “You’re going to get us both killed!”
“What was the request for assistance?” Gavrin calmly said as he continued weaving through the traffic. Jimble let go of the roof with one of his hands and scratched his head.
“The report said intruders had forced their way into the building.”
Gavrin nodded. “Something that big is going to be noticed by a lot of people, and I want them to know that I was there first.”
“If you were any more of a glory hound you’d be wearing a collar.” Jimble replied. He looked down at the navigation screen showing the layout of the city. “It should be just around this next corner on the right.”
As the enforcer car swung around the sharp corner Gavrin’s eyes went wide and he slammed on the stabilizer brakes. The car screeched and nearly flipped over as the momentum was suddenly killed before Gavrin grabbed Jimble and pulled him over to his side of the interior. The combined weight brought the car back down to the road before coming to a complete standstill.
Jimble lifted himself up slowly trying to regain his senses while Gavrin popped open the side door and stormed off. “No, no; I’m fine.” Jimble groaned as he blinked his eyes several times to clear them up. As he got a good look at his partner in front of the car he gasped.
Surrounding the entire street level entrance to broadcast building nine were several dozen military transports. Jimble looked to either side of the street and saw soldiers lining either side all with their weapons trained on the broadcast building.
“What the flartack is going on?”
As Jimble got out of the car he could see his partner arguing with two soldiers that had stepped forward and barred him from passing.
“Like flar I will!” Jimble heard his partner shout into the face of the nearest soldier.
“This area is restricted.” The same soldier continued as two additional soldiers broke away from covering the building to stand on either side of Gavrin. “Move along.”
Before Gavrin could let out another outburst Jimble stepped in.
“We are responding to a request from assistance filed from this broadcast building five chrono ticks ago.” Jimble said as he glanced between the visored helmets of the soldiers. Gavrin looked like he was about to shove his way passed the soldiers until Jimble put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed. He grunted for a moment before Jimble felt his partners muscles relax before Gavrin shook off his hand and went back to the enforcer car.
“And if I’m not mistaken,” Jimble said as he addressed the original soldier his partner had been shouting at “the military does not have jurisdiction outside of military installations and star ports; making this a de-facto enforcer matter.”
“This incident has been reviewed by city officials and was determined to fall under military jurisdiction.” a new voice cut in.
Both enforcers turned to see a sharply dressed military officer approach the group. With a wave of her hand the soldiers dispersed back to their positions leaving them alone.
“Since when?!” Gavrin nearly shouted as he smacked his hands against the hood of enforcer car.
“Since several highly ranked prisoners of war escaped a military base five days ago.” She turned and looked at the broadcast building and for a moment Gavrin could see what almost looked like fear cross her face.
“Why weren’t the enforcers informed of fugitives on the loose?” Gavrin pressed. “We could have found them far faster than you lot.”
“They are not normal fugitives.” was all she said before quickly raising a hand to her ear. She nodded a few times to herself before casting a look around the entire street.
She opened her mouth as if to give an order when an ear shattering static cut through not only her radio but Jimble and Gavrin’s radios as well.
“Good evening, fine citizens of Tivin.”
Jimble looked up to see the virtual ad long that had been for clothing change to static before displaying a new feed. It showed the interior of what appeared to be a broadcast room. There was a broadcast desk, a virtual backdrop of Tivin, and even the stations logo on the front. Yet behind the desk was someone Jimble had never expected to see.
A human…..
The human wore a makeshift cloak across his shoulders along with a bandana over his forehead keeping the strands of black hair out of his eyes.
“Cut the line!” Jimble and Gavrin tore their gaze away from the screen to see the officer shouting into her communicator. Whatever the response was it appeared to displease her as she turned to her waiting forces and shouted “Get in there now!”
The waiting squads of soldiers surged forwards, blowing the doors off the front entrance and rushing inside without a moment’s hesitation.
“My name is Joseph Maker,” the human continued drawing the attention of the trip remaining in the street, “and as you’ve no doubt noticed I’m very much human.”
Joseph waved a hand to something off screen and the camera panned around the room to reveal several other humans standing in the corner of the room. “As are my friends here.” Joseph continued as the camera spun back around to him.
“Your military was kind enough to invite us to your world for a little…chat..and afterwards we felt it only right to see this prime example of society we’ve heard so much about.”
Gavrin felt something strange and turned to see the building behind him. The virtual ad for some food parlor warped and displayed the same transmission of the human at the broadcast station. He watched as one by one the ads lining the streets all began to blink and switch to the same feed.
“They’re using the emergency broadcast system.”
His statement fell on deaf ears as sounds of weapons fire erupted from the broadcast building. Jimble and Gavrin both reached for their side arms and trained them on the entrance expecting something to come rushing out. The windows of the upper floors were flashing with the light of muzzle fire and grenades exploding, several of them shattering from the barrage raining broken glass down on to the below streets.
Gavrin looked up to see a soldier flung through one of the windows as if they were nothing but a rag doll. They screamed the entire way down falling through the air until impacting the ground with a disgusting wet flop of a sound.
“I’ve learned so much about your culture these last few days.” The human calling themselves Joseph continued. “For instance, your media appears to block any mention of the war effort what so ever.”
Joseph stood up and began walking across to the other side of the room and as the camera followed him Jimble and Gavrin let out a horrid gasp. Curled up in the corner was the broadcast stations staff, bound with cabling.
Joseph knelt down to one of them and removed their gag. “Tell me, mr…” he waited several seconds before his hostage caught on that he was waiting for him to respond. “Kavik.” They said as their voice reeked with fear. “Mr Kavik, thank you.” Joseph continued as he placed his arm around Kavik. “What do you know about the war between our two peoples; hmm?”
Kavik looked confused and scared, his mouth opening and closing as he tried to find the words. “That..” he began to speak, “that we are winning.”
To Gavrin’s surprise, rather than showing anger the human laughed and patted Kavik on the back.
“What a patriotic answer!” Joseph smiled as he continued patting Kavik on the back. “I’m sure it will be perfect on your tombstone.”
Before Kavik could react Joseph had grabbed his head with both hands and violently twisted. In an instant Kavik’s neck had snapped and his head was now facing the wrong direction on his body.
“Will someone kill this flartack feed!?” Jimble could hear the officer shouting again. “It’s going out planet wide!”
To Gavrin’s horror the humand did not stop at simply snapping the now dead broadcaster’s neck. They watched as the human continued to twist the head in circles until the skin began to rip and tear. As the camera continued to remain focused on the gruesome affair, Joseph slowly and deliberately continued twisting the head in circles until finally pulling it free from the body along with a portion of the spine.
“See what patriotism will get you kiddies?” Joseph still had a smile upon his face even as he casually held the severed head.
Jimble’s eyes were so transfixed by this act of barbarity unfolding before him that he didn’t feel Gavrin shaking him.
“Do you hear me? We need to get in there!”
Jimble looked down from the virtual displays and Gavrin saw nothing but fear in his partner’s eyes.
“Did you not just see the human rip a head off with their bare hands?!?!” Jimble was nearly hysterical now. His mind was not able to process what was happening before him. Before Gavrin could reason with him Joseph spoke again.
“You see, your people have a knack for invading other systems and either enslaving or eradicating species on flights of fancy.” Joseph let the head fall from his hand finally and just before it hit the ground kicked it with his right leg. The head simply turned into a shower of blood, bone, and bile before the camera; coating Joseph in a glazing of gore.
“Reading your records it’s been centuries since the last time one of your own worlds felt an enemy attack, so I imagine it’s given you this sense of security and superiority.”
Joseph looked down at his hands now for the first time and noticed they were covered in blood. He tried shaking them a few times but after that failed he walked back to the huddled hostages and wiped his hands on one of them.
“My friends and I thought that it would be most beneficial to reintroduce you to the horrors of war.”
The smile faded from Joseph’s face as one by one the other humans began to stand behind him.
“From this day forth, this planet will become a battlefield.”
“The safety and security you have lived with your entire life will now become a distant memory.”
“Your leaders will be hunted down and flayed one by one.”
“Your centers of industry and commerce destroyed beyond repair.”
“Your culture and history washed away in a tide of your own blood.”
“I promise you that for the atrocities you have carried out against my people you shall be shown no quarter, no mercy, and no forgiveness as we rage across this pathetic world like a hurricane of death and destruction.”
Jimble and Gavrin watched silently as the remaining hostages were brought before the camera. Each of them screaming into their gag as the humans slaughtered them like cattle, live for the entire world to see.
“War has been nothing but a game to you people, played out far from your homes and loved ones.”
The smile returned to Joseph’s face, but it lacked any semblance of warmth or kindness. It was a twisted smile, a smile of a predator looking down at his prey’s final moments.
“So now I want to ask you all, would you like to play a game?”
Roar of an explosion rocked the broadcast station building cutting the feed instantly. Jimble, Gavrin, and the officer dove for cover as debris began falling all around them. When the dust finally settled Gavrin looked upwards and saw the smoking remains of several destroyed floors.
“It’s about time.” The office said into her communicator as she straightened up. “Which team finally got the shot off?”
She waited for several seconds but no reply. “Repeat, which team took out the building?”
Yet again, silence.
“Will someone respond!?”
As Gavrin and Jimble both rose to their feet a strange thudding sound could be heard in the distance.
“What’s that sound?” Jimble queried. Gavrin listened closer to the thudding. “It almost sounds like-“
Another set of explosions rocked the street, this time from below the surface. In a flash of light Gavrin saw the officer thrown violently up into the air as the ground beneath her feet exploded upwards. He didn’t see where she landed as the explosions continued to ring out all around him.
When the explosions finally stopped Gavrin opened his eyes to a city of darkness. Every light save for the fires now burning brightly across the city streets were off. People in surrounding streets now ran to and fro in panic as if they had been consumed by madness.
“We need to contact headquarters.” He turned to see if Jimble was already up only to find his body limply hanging out from under a crushed piece of masonry.
“Well hello there, friend.”
Gavrin turned to see the speaker and froze.
Joseph was standing before him, casually standing in front of him with half his face burnt off. He could see strips of flesh burnt and charred hanging from him like bits of loose string, but even more surprising was the slowly growing blob of new skin that was already growing over the wounds.
Remembering his side arm Gavrin went for it but was too slow. In a flash Joseph had grabbed his hand by the wrist and clenched it so tight he severed it entirely.
Gavrin looked down at where his hand had once been and the bloody stump that now remained; a twisted mesh of blood and bile leaking from his wound like a waterfall. He looked up at his attacker to see the dozen or so humans that had been with him on the screen spreading out from the building. Some were equally singed while others appeared fine as day.
Several civilians saw them as well and let out a scream in horror. The humans began running and were on the in moments ripping them limb from limb.
It was chaos, pure chaos.
The last thing Gavrin remembered before passing out from blood loss was the crooked smile of Joseph as he looked down on him.
The crooked smile of a predator about to feed on a world driven to madness.

Warnings: not really much, some mentions of fights etc.
Notes: Well, after this chapter y’all... I think. You know. Where this about to go...
7: Tumbling
Tipoca greeted you the way it always did: a bustle of commotion as soon as you stepped foot off of the ship. You’d dressed in the standard gear that the Kaminoans had given you: a modified pair of blacks that essentially fit you like a jumpsuit.
Following Hunter, you and the rest of the team let him lead the way down the halls. Clones moved through the hallways as well, some of them giving you looks but the majority just ignoring you. By the time Hunter had opened the door to the Bad Batch’s usual barracks, you’d begun to brace yourself for the usual checkups and procedures you knew would follow.
“Hey Shiv, looks like they’ve moved your stuff in already,” Wrecker said, bounding into the room and over to his bunk.
You went over to the singular trunk that had been set in the middle of the floor, labeled with your designation number Unit 526934. Opening the trunk, you found your extra few changes of clothes and the random odds and ends that you’d left behind. Most of your favored possessions you’d either left with the 501st or taken with you onto the ship already, so the little you’d left in your quarters on Tipoca held little to no value.
Digging through the trunk, you grabbed the one item you’d hoped they hadn’t forgot, relieved it was still there. You let out a breath as you closed the trunk and turned to the table. Turning over the small holoprojector, you placed it down on the table and flicked it on, watching the images flicker into view. You smiled as you flipped through the couple of pictures of you with the 501st when you’d first been taken to Tipoca.
Pictures of you, soaking wet from the rain, laughing with the 501st. Fives, splashing you as Kix chased after you both with a towel. Your smile faded a little as you came across a picture of Echo, his grinning face fixed on you and Fives as he watched you both slip on puddles and slick durasteel.
Flicking it off, you stuck it into your bag and looked around. Apparently you were required to stay with the Bad Batch now, not that you’d protest.
“Uh, Shiv— looks like they didn’t bother to put another bunk in here.” Hunter turned to you.
You shrugged. “That’s okay. I can go on the floor or something.”
“You could share with me.” Tech adjusted his goggles. “Mine can extend a little further.”
You turned to glance at his bunk. “Oh... are you sure?”
“Awww, no fair Tech! I wanna sleep with Shiv!” Wrecker leaped up from his bunk, promptly cracking his skull against the top of it and letting out a yelp.
You could have sworn your entire face flushed at the double entendre of the words, but you tried to swallow and push it away. “Um- if you’re alright with it....”
Tech’s face looked a little colored. “If you want.”
You gave him a grateful smile. “Thank you, Tech. You sure I won’t make you uncomfortable? I tend to gravitate toward heat... I’ve been told I’m a little cold-blooded.”
He opened his mouth to reply when Crosshair snorted. “Really Shiv, do you think any of us would complain about that?” he asked, sending you a dark smirk from the other side of the room.
You swallowed thickly as Wrecker laughed and Tech sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck. Hunter chuckled.
“Well, it’s not as if you haven’t all fondled me already,” you said smartly, turning on your heel to go back to your trunk.
A dead silence filled the room for a moment as you bent over the trunk and started rummaging again, trying to search for the pair of night clothes you’d left behind last time. They’d been comfortable, and you didn’t want to give them up.
Then Wrecker burst into hearty laughter again. He walked up to you, grabbing you and hoisting you up as you squeaked a startled protest. “That’s the way, Shiv! Give it to him!” He swung you around as you squealed, grabbing onto his shoulders.
“Wrecker— Maker, wait—“ you tried to say through laughs, the world spinning.
He playfully tossed you down onto his own bunk as you shrieked, hair falling into your face. Grinning, he bent over you and handed you something.
“I want you to meet Lula,” he presented with a flourish. “Made ‘er myself!”
You brushed hair out of your eyes and took the little stuffed bunny, smiling at the stitched-on smile. Leaning forward, you had to bury your face into the plush tummy and breathe in Wrecker’s unmistakable scent. It smelled like the sizzle after a rain of blaster fire, the plume of smoke from an explosion barely wafting through the air, all underscored by a hint of sweat and a warm, thick scent that you just knew was wholly him.
“Lula is really warm, and soft,” you said softly, fingers squeezing the arms as you smiled up at Wrecker.
He hovered over you, face lighting up as you approved. “You like it? It’s coming apart a little, though. I gotta get ‘er fixed.”
You looked back down at it curiously, then turned it over. A seam had started to unravel at the back. “Oh— I can fix that, if you have the materials,” you offered, tugging carefully at the thread to see how loose it had gotten. Frowning, you tied a knot in the thread to keep it from further unraveling.
“You can?” Wrecker leaped up, managing to avoid hitting his head that time, and went to go rummage in all the miscellaneous parts.
“Here, Wrecker,” Hunter said, tossing him something from the other side of the room.
Wrecker caught it, squinting down at it. “Oh goody, it’s the thread.” Then he resumed looking for what you hoped would be a needle.
“Do you need anything, Shiv?” Hunter asked, turning to you briefly from his bunk.
You shook your head, scooting to the edge of Wrecker’s bunk and carefully holding Lula. “No, thank you. My trunk is here, and I guess I’m sharing with Tech, so... I should be good. Besides,” you sighed, rolling your eyes, “the Kaminoans will give me whatever they see fit anyway.”
“Oh, right.” Hunter walked over to you, handing you a datapad. “You’re being called into the medbay at 1800 Standard. I assume for a checkup.”
You glanced at it, then nodded and scrunched your nose. “Yeah, it’s going to be a long one,” you sighed, shoulders slumping. “Especially since that stupid stunt I pulled on that first mission.” You absently reached up and rubbed your arm, feeling the phantom pain of melting flesh tearing away.
Hunter glanced at your arm with a frown. “I thought it healed?”
“It did,” you said, “but now they’re going to poke and prod at it for a while to figure out the cellular regeneration most likely. Plus, they never have figured out why bacta patches tend to do more harm than good on me.”
He nodded. “Fair enough.” He walked back to his bunk just as Wrecker returned triumphantly.
“Found ‘em, Shiv!” He presented them, sitting back down next to you.
You set Lula down in your lap in order to take the materials, threading the needle with the thick, dark thread. Trying the knot, you turned Lula to the nearest light source and carefully inserted the needle.
“How’d you learn to sew, Shiv?” Wrecker asked, watching you start to mend the split seam.
You tucked in a bit of the stuffing. “Slave days.” You shrugged slightly, focused on getting the seam pushed together properly so it wouldn’t unravel as easily. “Gotta sit still and look like a useful and pretty ornament, y’know. Whims of the rich and whatever.”
“I still don’t understand,” Hunter spoke up, a growl in his voice. “Why would a Separatist choose to make you an ornamental slave instead of a weapon partner?”
You took a moment to tie the knots and snap the thread, then started re-threading the needle to do another tight layer. You finally answered with a sigh. “Bragging rights. Besides, I wasn’t a person to them. I was just a biological weapon, nothing more. What’s the point in treating me like an independent being? It’s one of the biggest reasons I found family in the Clones.”
The thoughtful silence told you that your point had hit home, and you started the second layer carefully. “I’m going to do another layer just so that it won’t tear as easily next time, Wrecker,” you explained, watching the needle push through the fabric and the stitches crisscross over each other.
“Oh, yeah! Thanks, Shiv.” Wrecker nodded, still apparently finding the process interesting.
You hummed, double-knotting the last stitch and snapping the thread again. Turning, you handed him the newly-mended Lula.
He cheered, taking her back excitedly and beginning to babble about it.
You had to watch him with a smile even as you pushed the needle through the spool of thread. Wrecker’s innocent joy in the simple things had always drawn you, the way he let himself be unapologetically enthusiastic about what he cared about. You had to fondly smile as you watched him toss Lula about and razz Crosshair.
Standing after a moment, you went and put the needle and thread back on the table and resumed your interrupted search in your trunk. Thankfully, you’d found the sleepwear and set it on top. Standing, you ran a hand through your hair and glanced at the wall chrono. It read 1730, so you grimaced and grabbed your ankle monitor.
“I have to go to the medbay,” you called over your shoulder, hopping as you slapped the monitor on your ankle. “I should be back around 2100, hopefully before.”
“Good luck, Shiv,” Hunter said with a nod.
You threw them a wave as you rushed out the door, headed for the medbay. They usually wanted you to be early so you could take a quick sonic shower and change into the proper clothes. As you’d expected, you found a droid waiting for you as soon as you entered.
“Greetings, Unit 526934,” the droid bleeped. “Please make your way to the showers. You’ll find clothes waiting for you when you’re done.”
You nodded, biting back a sigh as you made your way over to the shower cubicles. Getting clean, you clambered out of the shower and changed into the loose-fitting robes that they’d provided. Picking at the hem of the shirt, you walked out into the attached room.
The droid waited by an examination table. “Please lie here.”
Without a word, you climbed onto the table and laid down, staring up at the ceiling. The monochrome color swirled in front of you, making you grimace and close your eyes against the brightness. A few minutes later, the doors opened just as the wall chrono chimed. You didn’t even bother opening your eyes.
“Hello, Unit 526934. Welcome back.” The smooth tones of the female Kaminoan washed over your ears. She started to move through the room, her silent footsteps only marked by the rattling of tools. “I trust your missions have been successful.”
“Depends on your definition, but sure,” you said flatly.
“You seem distressed,” she noted.
“Tired,” you corrected. It wasn’t a lie. You were definitely tired of these checkups, the way they always insisted on poking and prodding at you, picking you apart, shoving things into your bones and veins. Taking things from you. You hated it. But this, as you knew, was the price you’d chosen to pay.
To stay with the Bad Batch? You’d be the most cooperative patient they’d ever seen.
“I’m sorry to hear that. Would you like a tranquilizer while we do this checkup?” She offered.
“No thanks.” You kept your eyes closed, not protesting when her long fingers rested against your wrist.
The rest of the preparations took place silently as you forced every other thought out of your mind. You’d have to make sure you weren’t projecting too much so you didn’t bother the others. Sometimes, the way the Kaminoans experimented left you with an aching jaw as you grit your teeth against the pain.
Hooked up to an IV for a blood sampling and a medley of other liquids that they regularly drained into you, you felt the table jolt as you were pushed to the other side of the room. You opened your eyes, staring blankly above at the top of the machine that now hovered over you. It hummed to life, a soft light glowing at the edges of the smooth metal.
“According to your most recent report, you received a substantial injury on a mission,” the Kaminoan remarked smoothly. “Did you sustain any damage?”
“No,” you answered blankly, voice expressionless. “It healed over in two days. I had to cover it.”
The machine beeped, the droid puttering around the room coming over to check your IV. The blood sample had been taken, so it unhooked that line and instead gave you a small injection. Your arm numbed almost immediately, and you closed your eyes in resigned exhaustion.
“It looks like your scans show that you’ve completely regenerated sixty percent of the tissue in your arm recently,” the Kaminoan reported. “I will have to take samples to test. Did the injury reach your bone?”
“No.”
“Did you sustain any broken bones?”
“No.”
The Kaminoan tapped at the screen controlling the machine, readjusting the table so your head was mostly covered by it. You closed your eyes again, ignoring the other metallic clinks of instruments being prepared.
The Kaminoan returned. “It seems as though the removal of the inhibitor chips has continued to prove successful. Your brain functions have seemed to recover well,” she remarked clinically. “In time, you may have regained enough stability to consider a new one.”
You sourly hoped not.
The Kaminoan pulled the table back out, then settled you against the wall. The droid kept the fluids steadily dripping into your veins, and you felt the cold start to creep its way into your bones. Despairingly, you hoped that Tech wouldn’t mind if you ended up clinging to him like a leech by the time morning rolled around. It always came as a side-effect of the fluids. Though you knew that they boosted a lot of your internal functions, it still demanded a price.
“I will start taking samples.”
You grit your teeth, jaw ticking as you felt the cold needle press against your arm. It pushed, entering your skin without a sting thanks to the numbing agent, but you knew it wouldn’t last the deeper it went. And it continued to push. The pain started welling, and while you were used to pain, there was something about the cold metal point burrowing further down that always took you off guard.
The needle hit bone.
It took every ounce of willpower you had to shove back the scream that tore through your chest, welling in your throat. Ruthlessly, you shoved the pain away from the Bonds and down deep into yourself, willing yourself to stay quiet.
Your eyes nearly rolled back up into your skull with sheer relief when the needle pulled back out. The deep-tissue sample was usually the worst part. You could feel the light sheen of sweat that had broken out on your body start to cool even further, adding to the way your temperature dropped.
The ankle monitor beeped, warning about your plummeting temperature, and the droid instantly began to dial the fluid drip back. The Kaminoan nurse swiftly pulled a heat lamp down over the table, letting the artificial heat wash over you. Your muscles had started to tense with the cold, your eyes still stubbornly screwed shut against the pain.
“Your temperature should start rising soon,” the Kaminoan tried to soothe, adjusting the heat lamp.
Darkness plucked at the edges of your consciousness, and you blacked out.
~
Exhausted and still cold, you limped back into the Bad Batch’s quarters with the ankle monitor still on and a medbay blanket wrapped around your shoulders.
“Shiv?” Hunter sounded incredulous.
You looked up and waved them off. “This is normal, don’t worry about it,” you sighed, going to your trunk.
“What do you mean, normal? None of us have every come back from medbay looking worse than when we went in,” he demanded.
“Lemme get changed and I’ll explain,” you promised, grabbing your night clothes and heading for the bathroom. Changing into the comfortable pair of shorts and tank top, you wrapped the blanket around your shoulders again and shuffled back out into the room.
Tech was already sitting on his bed, so you went to go sit next to him, pulling the blanket to cover your feet. With a groan, you reached up to rub at your eye.
“Are you alright, Shiv?” Tech turned to you with concern, eyebrows furrowing.
“No, I’m freezing cold,” you said miserably.
“What did they do to you?” Hunter asked again with a frown.
You sighed, leaning into Tech’s shoulder. “Normal procedure for me is going in and getting a blood check, physical, and brain scan. I also have to get a bag of fluids that’s made to boost some of my biological functions, kind of like how you’re modified to be enhanced. It helps with my physical upkeep, but the side-effect is brutal. I’m going to freeze like an icicle for the rest of the night,” you grumbled. “And since I had to regenerate sixty percent of the tissue in my arm, they took a deep tissue sample.”
“A what?” Wrecker asked, tilting his head from his bunk. He held Lula up, craning his neck toward you quizzically.
“A deep tissue sample is when an injection has to be made in order to obtain cells from a section of a patient’s body,” Tech answered for you. “Oftentimes I’ve heard it can be very painful when it reaches bone.”
“They’ve got that right,” you said, eyes drooping closed with a heavy sigh. “They even had to turn on the heat lamp this time to get my temp back up. Oh, Tech,” you added as an afterthought, “I hope my ankle monitor won’t bother you. I have to keep it on tonight to monitor my vital functions. Like I said, the fluids tend to drain me of any and all heat.”
“It’s not a problem, Shiv,” Tech reassured. “If it goes off, what should I be prepared to do?”
“The only reason it’ll probably go off is if my body temp drops too low,” you sighed. “If I can’t, tap the monitor for me and it’ll manually send a burst of heat to regulate me.”
“Are you sure you’re going to be alright? You said the process was painful.” Hunter checked.
You shrugged. “Nothing I’m not used to,” you said. “If anything, I hope I don’t bother Tech. I’m going to become an ice-cold leech.”
“I suppose it’s a good thing I volunteered, then,” Tech said dryly, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. “I’ll have to take advantage of whatever chances I get.”
You let out a laugh despite yourself. “Be careful what you wish for. You might regret it in the morning.”
“Nah, if Tech doesn’t want ya I’ll take ya, Shiv!” Wrecker grinned. “Lula and I can make room.”
“Thanks, Wrecker.” You smiled, feeling the sleepiness descend. Yawning, you leaned your head against Tech’s shoulder.
The cold dragged you into sleep.
~
“Shiv. Shiv, it’s time to get up.”
You let out a groan, pulled out of blessed sleep. You didn’t want to move. You felt perfectly, comfortably warm, and something heavy was draped across your waist. Instead, you whined petulantly and buried your head into the source of warmth you were so tightly pressed against.
A sharp inhale of breath hissed against your ear, but you were already falling back asleep-
“Shiv.” Someone’s mouth had pressed against your ear. “We have to get ready for the conditioning in an hour.”
Slowly, the words bled into your sluggish mind. Conditioning... an hour. Tipoca. Kaminoa. Right. Training exercises. An hour-?
With a yelp, you jolted awake and found yourself flailing. Your entire body went off the edge of the bed, slamming against the unforgiving floor. Grimacing, you reached up to rub the spot where your hip had landed.
“Ow, ow— don’t scare me like that, Maker—“ You opened your eyes to see Tech peering over the edge of the bunk at you.
“You alright, Shiv? Sorry I didn’t catch you, you startled me,” he said.
You stared up at him for a minute, your brain starting to put pieces together. You’d... probably been pressed against him. And that weight: his arm on your waist. The soft murmur and his kiss to your ear. You flushed.
“Oh, Tech— I’m sorry, I told you I’d probably end up being a leech,” you groaned.
“I wasn’t complaining, Shiv,” Tech said, swinging himself to a sitting up position.
You sat up, still rubbing at your sore hip. “Well there’s another bruise,” you muttered. “Thank you, Tech. I feel back to normal, I think.” You stood gingerly, patting at yourself. Your body temperature felt pretty normal, a bit chilly from waking up but nothing unusual.
“As much as I’d like to continue seeing you walk around in that, I think you might want to get ready for the conditioning,” Hunter remarked, walking past.
You blinked, then flushed as you remembered the shorts and tank top. Shaking your head, you grabbed your outfit from your trunk and went to go change.
By the time everyone was geared up and ready to go, you were starting to feel a little less sore from the needles. While the numbing agent had worked, it sill left a bit of an ache deep in your arm where it had hit bone. You walked down the hall following Hunter and absently rubbed your arm.
“Is your arm still hurting?” Crosshair asked sharply.
You started a bit. “Oh... I mean, it’s more of an ache. The needle hit my bone, so it feels weird,” you said, shaking your head. “It’ll go away.”
You arrived at the training deck on time. Taking in a deep breath, you tried to mentally prepare yourself. You didn’t know exactly what they’d throw at you this time around. You had to be prepared.
The Kaminoans watched from the observation deck above as you walked in, the doors sliding shut with a hiss behind you. The Prime Minister was there as well, to no one’s surprise.
Force 99, please prepare yourselves for a standard simulation. Unit 526934, please prepare to engage yourself as a non-lethal training weapon only.
You simply turned to Hunter, waiting for directions. He nodded to everyone as they started pulling their helmets on. “You guys know the drill. We’re used to Shiv by now. Just act like you would any other mission. Shiv.” He turned to you, holding out his hand. “Permission to Transfer.”
You sucked in a breath and grasped his hand. “Transfer Granted.” As soon as you’d Shifted, you didn’t even bother projecting an astral form as the simulation began. You’d already defaulted to Hunter’s preferred modifications, though you carefully made sure that your fire was stun-only.
The combat droids started to swarm, causing Hunter to duck and weave through the barriers and start firing. A pattern soon presented itself, and you picked up on it as soon as Hunter did.
“Tech!” Hunter yelled, tossing you.
You guided the weapon into Tech’s outstretched hand, instantly splitting into two. You whispered across the Bond. Pattern of four, flanking both sides and driving a wedge down the middle.
Tech nodded as he continued to fire and make his way closer to Hunter. “So it’s trying to funnel us toward the center and get us trapped,” he deduced.
“Wrecker, clear a path down the middle, Tech and I will cover you!” Hunter shouted.
“Wrecker, catch!” Tech called.
Wrecker whooped and caught you easily, charging straight into the middle of the arena. You formed yourself into a stun grenade launcher, and he eagerly fired a few into the swarm. Manually charging in as Hunter and Tech picked off the ones that got too close, Wrecker used you to both shoot as well as physically bat away some of the droids.
From a vantage point, Crosshair had already started sniping down the towers and picking off droids that threatened any of his other teammates.
Droids started swarming you and Wrecker even more, and you were pressed to focus on both keeping a second eye out for him as well as making sure your shots were still stun-only instead of live fire. They swarmed towards the center, and you quietly murmured across the Bonds.
Wrecker laughed heartily, elated by the action and the promise Hunter’s conveyed plan presented. “Let’s do it!” He roared, swinging you in a circle and firing gleefully. “Come and get it!”
It only took another moment before Hunter yelled “Now!”
Wrecker barely hesitated, pushing himself off the ground in a mighty leap to the side. He fired unerringly toward the mass of droids, a stun-grenade arcing through the air. A bolt from Crosshair hit the grenade dead-center, and it went off in a mighty pulse as you dragged Wrecker down to the ground to avoid the shockwave of the blast.
All the droids hovering in the air instantly dropped, sparking.
Slowly, Wrecker looked up. A moment of silence, then a bell chimed from above.
Simulation complete. Prepare for phase 2.
Wrecker scrambled to his feet. “What? Phase 2? What’s that?”
Hunter, Crosshair, and Tech quickly came up.
You materialized over Wrecker’s shoulder. “Phase 2 is my fault,” you said quickly. “It’s meant to be a test of how well I can switch between all of you as need be. There’s going to be most likely a set of obstacles of some sort that will lean on your individual strengths and see how well and quickly I can adapt.”
Hunter nodded. “Everyone keep as close as possible and support Shiv. Keep sharp and listen to the Bonds and each other.”
Everyone nodded and scattered to nearby barriers. For the time being, you stayed with Wrecker.
As soon as you caught sight of a droid staring to rise from a panel in the floor, you sent a pulse over the Bond. Wrecker barely paused before turning and chucking you clear across three barriers.
Hunter caught you as you Shifted into his modified blaster. “Any ideas, Shiv?” he asked tightly.
It’s a heavy fire unit, You guessed by its build. I don’t know what mods it might have, but I think treating it like an armored assassin droid would be best.
He nodded, then leapt over the barrier and started to run towards the droid. He weaved and dodged the bolts, and you Shifted into an energy shield to help block any stray blasts. Hunter dropped and skidded across the floor as you Shifted back into a blaster. Leaping up, he shoved the blaster into the crack between the two chinks of chest armor and fired.
Dodging out of the way, Hunter instantly turned and kicked at the droid’s legs. You Shifted into a vibro-shiv, and he slashed instantly at the droid’s back plate. The droid fell to its knees, and Hunter sank the shiv into its head plate, carving it open. You Shifted into a blaster again, and he fired instantly into the now-open head.
The droid crumpled, and Hunter whirled around to look for the source of the faint buzzing he’d heard. As soon as he caught sight of the tiny, round droid speeding around the edges of the room, he whipped his arm back.
“Cross!” He shouted in warning.
You Shifted midair, guiding yourself into Crosshair’s hands, already complete as his preferred modified sniper rifle. He smirked, then sprinted over to one of the towers in the room. You positioned your astral form in the usual place to his left. He climbed the tower, taking up a spot and propping you up on the railing.
Peering through your sight, Crosshair let out a quiet breath. You took the moment of complete silence in his head to gather yourself, preparing for his next order. His warning came a split second before the shot itself, but you were prepared. His shot hit the tiny droid almost dead-on, and a moment later you’d deflected a last ditch-effort shot made by the now-useless droid.
Crosshair turned his head to catch sight of the tower’s control panel flickering on. “Tech,” he hollered down, dropping you.
Tech looked up, catching both blasters you’d Shifted into flawlessly. Crawling around his barrier, he started into a dead-sprint toward the nearest tower. He lifted you as you Shifted into another shield, holding you above his head just in case. You took a single shot thanks to his weaving and dodging, so you were ready when he reached the tower.
He instantly propped you up and began slicing into the tower’s controls. It took him all of a minute while you braced yourself. You kept Shifting sizes of the shield depending on the shots aimed toward you. If you concentrated on a shot, it was much easier to conserve energy, maybe even absorb it and use it to refuel yourself. But the larger the shield, the more the shots would take out of you.
It didn’t take long for Tech to finish slicing and recoding the tower. Its turret rotated and started firing at the others until they were all down.
Tech grabbed you, letting you Shift back into his twin blasters. He sent you the schematics for a set of weapons, then shouted “Wrecker!” You automatically became an IWS as Wrecker caught you, but you studied the schematics Tech had given you with interest. A pair of armored gloves?
You started to copy the weapon, figuring why not? Wrecker looked down in surprise as you covered his hands, forming into the heavy gloves.
“Whoa, what are these?” Wrecker’s eyes lit up with interest as he turned his hands over.
Why don’t we find out? You asked with a smile. So far, this had been the most successful Phase 2 you’d ever experienced, and while you could feel the stress, it didn’t debilitate you like it had before.
Wrecker looked up just in time to see the center floor panel open up to reveal a giant droid ambling forwards. He grinned, then slammed his fists together in front of himself. The gloves started sparking, and you quickly made them stun instead of live energy.
With a whoop, Wrecker leapt forwards toward the heavy-duty droid. His first punch with the gloves made the droid shudder, sparking; but after a moment, it recovered itself and pressed forward again. You kept half a mind on Wrecker and continued studying the schematics of the gloves, refining the gloves and streamlining it as you familiarized yourself with it.
“Hey Shiv,” Wrecker grunted, still punching away at the droid, “what else do these do?”
You absently flicked on a button, and faintly heard Wrecker whoop as energy coils started threading between the gloves. Wrecker knocked the droid’s legs out from under it and started to wrap the energy coils around its head and neck joints. Still, you only half paid attention as you continued to study the schematics. They had aspects that made you wonder if Tech had been modifying it himself. There were mods that clearly hadn’t been made for a standardized weapon.
“Gimme a last good punch, Shiv!” Wrecker hollered.
You looked up from the schematics, shifting your attention, and powered up the gloves to as high of a safe extent as you could. Wrecker let out a shout and slammed his full weight into the chest of the droid. The entire chest plate caved in, and you winced as the stun energy rippled though the entire rest of the droid, reducing it to a heap of smoking parts.
Wrecker stood, nodding in satisfaction and smacking the gloves together. “These are awesome!” He cheered, shaking his fists in the air. “Hey Shiv, can we use these more often?”
You materialized over his shoulder, staring at them yourself. “I haven’t figured out all of it yet, so it might take me some time to make it better. But yes, if you’d like,” you agreed.
He turned his head to you in surprise. “You haven’t?” he asked as the rest of the team approached, the finish bell ringing.
You shook your head. “Tech gave me the schematics before he passed me to you.”
“You mean you made it functional on the fly?” Hunter asked, surprised.
You nodded. “Yes. I’ve studied weapons for most of my life, so it’s not as difficult anymore. But this schematic has modifications that weren’t meant for this weapon originally, so I’ll have to further study it to make it as practical as possible without compromising the rest of the weapon’s functions and overall integrity.”
Tech adjusted his goggles. “I didn’t expect you to try it right away. It was a weapon I’d found base schematics for on a mission. I thought I’d try to make some mods to accommodate Wrecker’s particular preferences. I figured I’d share what I had with you for the time being, since you’re now our partner and weapon.”
You disengaged, staggering a little as you dropped to the ground. Catching yourself, you shook your head from the giddiness that bled over from Wrecker.
“I like it,” Wrecker said with an adamant nod.
You smiled dizzily. “G-good.”
Hunter caught your arm. “You good?” His eyebrows furrowed for a moment.
“I’m fine, just-“ you squinted, balancing yourself. Taking a breath, you re-centered and shook your head. “I’m a little... that was the best I think I’ve ever done for a Phase 2,” you admitted breathlessly.
“You did great.” Hunter gave you an encouraging nod.
“I believe that was also one of the quickest battle sims we’ve managed to complete,” Tech noted, scrolling on his wrist unit. “We took a total of eight minutes and fifteen seconds for the first one. During Phase 2, Shiv Shifted weapons a total of 12 times in the span of twelve minutes and twenty seconds.”
Battle Simulations Complete. Performance Satisfactory. Prepare for mission assignment within forty-eight chrons.
You flushed as your stomach let out a loud growl. You hadn’t really eaten since lunch the day before, and you were now feeling it.
Wrecker laughed. “Let’s go get food!” He clapped your shoulder and started toward the doors.
Tech fell into step beside you as you all walked towards the now-open doors. “You did very well,” he offered. “I saved the footage in case you wanted to review it.”
You gave him an appreciative smile. “I’d love that, thanks, Tech. I’m glad I did well.” You let out a sigh of pure relief. “It was really stressful.”
As soon as the Bad Batch walked into the canteen, you mentally braced yourself for snide comments. It was always the same no matter who you were with, and worse if you were alone. Still, you hoped that the others wouldn’t be too effected by it.
Grabbing a tray, you felt your shoulders hunch a little. You just... wished others would simply ignore you. Their comments didn’t even matter, but it always felt so awkward. And sometimes, you’d found, ignoring them only earned you more trouble. Putting the bland food on your tray, you wished for a moment that you could just cook something yourself on the ship.
You followed behind Wrecker’s bulk as he confidently made his way to an empty table. Feeling a presence behind you, you glanced back with wide eyes to see Crosshair following behind you.
“Sit on my side of the table, Shiv,” Cross said coolly. “Wrecker always starts something in the canteen when others make comments.”
Though you didn’t really mind either way, you nodded and slid into the spot next to Crosshair on the bench. Hunter slid in on your other side, while Tech and Wrecker sat across from the three of you.
You just silently tucked into your food, grateful for the nutrition at the very least. Wrinkling your nose at the dubious soup, you decided to dunk your bread into it instead to avoid the taste as much as possible.
“The soup never is good,” Hunter said with a roll of his eyes as he copied you.
You nodded with a soft hum, spooning the other food into your mouth.
A group of troopers passed by your table, chuckling and nudging each other. “Well if the outcasts don’t find each other,” one of them sneered in your direction.
Another snorted. “Yeah, looks like the Sad Batch found the flimsi-opener.”
You were fully prepared to ignore it all when Wrecker leapt up from his seat.
“Leave Shiv alone,” Wrecker fairly growled, glaring at the group of troopers.
Choking on a spoonful, you pounded at your chest at the unexpected rush of heat that traveled down your body at the sound of Wrecker’s voice dropping that low and raking down your spine. It was the sound of his voice as much as the abrupt defense that took you off guard, and the way your body reacted to it completely unbalanced you. You could feel color burst in your cheeks as you stared wide-eyed up at Wrecker still glaring balefully at the troopers.
“Sit down, Wrecker,” Hunter said, waving his hand. “They don’t know what they’re talking about anyway.”
Wrecker huffed. “They don’t deserve to talk to Shiv like that,” he complained.
You shook your head wordlessly, trying desperately to shove the memory of Wrecker’s face contorted in a feral snarl, his growl rolling through your mind. You weren’t even sure why it had effected you so heavily, but... You shifted a little in your seat, realizing with despair that Hunter would probably be able to smell your reaction at this rate.
“You okay, Shiv?” Wrecker turned to you, back to his normal husk as he frowned.
You coughed, shaking your head and then nodding. Swallowing thickly, you pressed your thighs together and desperately tried to refocus on your food.
Beside you, Crosshair let out a low, knowing chuckle. His hand under the table briefly brushed up your leg, and you let out a squeak, instantly clapping your hand over your mouth.
“You look flushed, Shiv, are you alright?” Tech frowned, observing your face.
“No- ye- no-“ you choked out, pointedly trying to look down at your tray. Biting your lip hard, you picked up your spoon again. Why was everything suddenly so... sensitive?
“If they say anything again, I’m throwing this table,” Wrecker said darkly, glaring around the canteen.
You couldn’t take anymore. You needed out. Standing abruptly, you grabbed your tray. “Excuse me, I’ll- I’ll be in the room-“ You fled, choking on your own words. Fairly throwing the tray at the return, you started running down the hallway and out of the canteen.
You barely made it to the barracks before your knees gave out. Leaning against the table, you sucked in a burning breath and closed your eyes, shivering. You didn’t even know why, but something about the way Wrecker had instantly stood to his full 6 foot 6 inches and growled at the person who had insulted you just... did something. It was like someone had flipped a dusty switch in your mind and broken a dam in the process.
Sucking in a breath, you grabbed your sleep clothes and went to go change in the fresher. You needed out of your blacks as soon as possible. The heat that spread through your whole body was the polar opposite of what you’d felt the night before.
Still, even after you’d changed into the tank top and shorts, your body still felt like it was on fire. The heat puddled in your lower belly, making you press your hand against it. Your skin felt so hypersensitive, the comfortable clothes rasping against you in a way that made you squeeze your eyes shut.
Grabbing a datapad, you shakily tried to scroll to the report of your last medbay visit hooked to the ankle monitor you’d shed that morning. Scrolling through it, you pulled up the list of the fluids you’d been injected with. A particular side effect listed on one of them made you let out a broken groan and sink down onto the nearest bunk.
The door flew open. “Shiv?”

Yugioh S5 Ep 21: Joey Takes A Snack at that Cray Sauce
Hey guys! The 17 yo cat with kidney disease I was out of town watching lived to see another week (she was a very good girl). Which means now I can get back to the good stuff. This episode is brought to you by the colors red and orange, and I hope you like this color, and I hope you like this after effects they CGId onto this volcano.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways, they first have to do this familiar ledge fall, because, it’s Yugioh, and if there’s a bunch of lava, Tristan wants
in
that.
Tumblr media
And then Joey decides...hey you know what? I’m gonna jet. And...it’s not the first time he’s pulled a wild card and been unpredictable, I mean none of us can really forget that time he decided to get murdered by Mai instead of going in a straight line towards the end boss last season, but this time it was kind of funny how it was hastily composed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And off he goes, folks.
As he left, Tristan was like “Ya dummy!” and Tea was like “nono, we gotta encourage him--run Joey! You can do it! See? Now he’s gone.” and it’s like...Tea is either trying to kill Joey with her support or honestly thinks that’s good support and I can’t fully tell which she is.
(read more under the cut)
It’s at this point that Grandpa has the gall to say “Did any of you happen to catch the lore? I fell asleep during that part.” Just like my Dad when we watch any movie as a family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, maybe 100 ft away from them, Joey is in mortal peril but it’s Joey, so he’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it.
In fact, this episode seems like it would have been a better arc if it stretched out more episodes because the Joey neglect happens so quickly and out of nowhere that it’s...less organic than your average children’s show. Honestly it’s kind of funny how fast the fall of Joey Wheeler happens this episode. And I think it could have been a fun interesting time if it was handled better but youknow...it’s crammed into one single episode and you’ll se what happens.
Tumblr media
As Yugi ruminates a cool thing that would have been really interesting this season--like running into more rando’s from other periods of time than just Alexander--Tea looks across the lava highway and was like “found it.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back at the dragon situation, Joey starts opening his heart to this dragon and it’s like...did they originally intend for Seto Kaiba to be here? Because I guess Joey uses Red Eyes a lot, but I also skip a lot of the card games, so when I think “who likes the dragon card?” Joey is not the first one I think of.
That and like he got over his Atlantis dragon card like hella fast, right? Like totally already over that?
And also if you thought Joey would pull out his other dragon to try and communicate or get a hold of this dragon like...nah.
Back at the fort, these guys decided to ditch Joey to get to this sword at the top of a volcano to solve the riddle, and what follows is some weird ass canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I’m pulling up my Google Doc with my deathcount on it, Tristan decides this is the time he won’t freakin die and turn into a robot monkey for 15 episodes.
Tumblr media
And he makes a huge ass green dragon. You’d think this MASSIVE dragon would do more in this episode, but nah. Although he pulls out Massive Dragon, it’s like kind of worthless, so he mostly puts it back in his pocket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Tea pulls this elf chick out and it’s freakin hilarious because look at her giant elf.
Tumblr media
Like Tea is not a small person! Are Yugioh monsters all 12 ft tall???
Tumblr media
Yugi is also all ham about fusing with his dude now. It knocked him out a couple episodes ago, but Yugi is so keen on destroying his body that he’s back in clown town. And like...took his Grandpa for a ride, I guess, although I’m pretty sure Summoned Skull has wings.
Course, Summoned Skulls insides are his outsides...and I dunno if you’d want Summoned Skull to give you a big hug and carry you around. Summoned Skull just seems like he’s sticky.
And, once they make it to the top of the volcano where the plot sword lives, we first have to visit this plot twist of the century.
Tumblr media
YEAH.
OUT OF NOWHERE.
THIS EPISODE IS NOT LONG.
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaand now Joey is going to try and kill everyone here. I did not skip anything, PS, Joey dipped off-screen.
PS, everyone’s reaction to “I will kill you!” was a whole lot of rolling their eyes at first being like “Joey, stawp.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, now that Joey’s randomly possessed by this dragon, we get a peek into what Joey’s brain zone looks like. It’s a whole lot of nothing in between his ears.
Tumblr media
Consistent to S1 actually, when we had a bit of a Joey Brain Zone moment. It was a blank void there, too.
So apparently Joey decided, back when he was confessing his love to Red Eyes Black Dragon, that he would jump on it’s back to calm it down--and it just...fused with him. So...now he’s a dragon.
Sure, I guess. I mean...there’s really no limit on what a Duel monster can’t do, so I’ll allow it.
Tumblr media
The team tries to just say “ah screw it” and pull up this sword themselves (you can kind of see it in this shot) and the sword just slurps into the dirt even more out of spite. Seeing that there’s a bit of a time limit, Grandpa pulls this one out of his back pocket.
Tumblr media
Yo, Grandpa’s not even possessed. Hey, remember that time that Grandpa nearly died giving Arthur Hawkins the last of his water back in Egypt? Remember that?
Like uh, you can definitely tell this was made by a different team that may not have gotten that cue card. It may have been lost in the mail. Either way, kind of a hilarious heel turn on Grandpa’s personality here, although it does make logical sense to save most of the kids from sacrificing one kid. It’s just...that kid is Joey...so...that’s like his adopted Grandson, right?
So Yugi does something very on brand for Yugi and invades a brain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And like...obviously Yami and Yugi would say no to this. They would never do this. Not after all the dozens and dozens of times they have sacrificed the world and everything for their best friends.
Tumblr media
But...maybe just this one time we can kill Joey? As a treat?
So uh...Yami hella vaporizes Joey with his new powers. Luckily, Joey Wheeler has Shaggy Doo energy and just...he survives it for some reason. I don’t know why he isn’t dead, maybe because the dragon made him stronger? Eh, don’t do the math (on any part of this episode).
Tumblr media
So Joey gets up and is like “I know the answer to the riddle!” As the sword kinda melts into the volcano and Gramps is like “Well we’re dead, actually, so no one cares!”
And Joey’s like “Look!” and he hops onto the back of the Red Eyes Black dragon and reveals this random thing:
Tumblr media
Because it turns out, that the dragon was the real problem and not this volcano with a sword in it.
Which youknow...could have been cool if this episode wasn’t so many insane plot points so quickly. Kind of a lot of episode here. This episode could have been a whole season of a show.
Like how long was Joey Possessed by Marik in S2? Like 5 or 6 episodes? And you can see how much more successful it was at selling the story although it was a lot of the same themes and ideas. Pacing is important.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then Joey passes out from the suit juice.
Tumblr media
Which is when we get one more Alexander cameo, just kinda watching them leave and onto the next arc of their little journey.
Tumblr media
They sure did put a lot of eyeliner on Alexander the great, and, being real...he may have actually been wearing a hell ton of dope eyeliner when he was alive, so this could be historically accurate, for all we know. Those old marble statues used to be painted, after all. Maybe they had dope Yugioh eyeliner down to his cheekbones? One can wish.
And like if you ever get the time--seeing what those marble statues looked like with paint on it is so freakin goofy and fun, I love it. I love that for 600 years we thought those marble statues were supposed to be naked and white but it’s like, nah man--this guy’s just wearing a skin tight breast plate and when you paint it, it’s so garish it’s like a freakin clown outfit.
But anyway, that’s all for now! Hope y’all have a good weekend, and as always, here’s a link to read these in chrono order, if you just got here!

The Pregnancy - Overhaul + Chronostatis
Request: ive been thinking abt don't move+sequels reader, i can only see them being more hostile if they get pregnant, how do you think it would go, would overhaul and chrono be more understanding like the they know best fic or would they stay trashy and mean like in a bundle of joy , especially in a scenario where reader self harm or try to end the pregnancy/hurt the baby
Warnings: Self-Harm Implications
A/N: Headcanons because it’s easier for me to brainstorm with this idea rather than a fic. Hope you don’t mind<3 (also not related to bundle of joy!!) Also please read the request, it can get a bit heavy for the last half!!
-
Kai and Hari would be very involved in your life. While you have freedom to wander around the base, you must do so with either one of them or someone that they have entrusted to walk you around. They won’t be risking you wandering by yourself in their base and potentially getting hurt in any means. Pregnancy or not, you are important to them, and for you to be hurt under their supposed watch is something that they won’t have. They want to make sure that you’re safe, taking any necessary precautions to ensure that no harm does befall on you.
They both view themselves as the parent in the child’s life. To them, it doesn’t matter who is the biological dad as long as they are involved in the raising of the child. They hardly compete for your attention- only truly seeing each other as a competitor when there is intimacy involved. Other than that, they both go to the doctor’s appointment with you and even help buy items for the child and the room. They realize that any sort of competition that could arise would result in stress for you and could harm the child, so they decided to work together, to be the partners that are most suited for you and your own wellbeing- including the baby.
During your pregnancy term, their protectiveness and need to be involved , make them come off as overbearing and often lead to you being overstimulated because of them. You’re grateful that they’re caring in this process and that they’re trying to maintain the healthy nature of the baby, but it's all too much. They involve themselves in your life- nothing of yours is private. You are monitored constantly, watched and treated as if you are proecielan that sits at the edge of a shelf. The only added benefit of having your life shared between them is that they also now fully involve you in their own lives- everything intricate, personal and even the workings of the Shie Hassaikai. You know what time their meetings are- having to work them around your own appointments- and who they are dealing with and why. You are now treated as their equal rather than a pet- or at least now you’re able to know more than before.
In order to ensure the safety and health of the child, Chisaki makes sure to plan all your meals accordingly. He’s precise, cutting certain portions and making sure to eat the food before he has Kurono deliver it to you. He spends his time making sure that the food is prepped and contains nutrients that are best while also making sure that it’s something that you are allowed to eat. Your cravings are the worst of it- he can handle the cramps and the moodiness, but you just get some rather unhealthy cravings for certain food that he won’t allow you to eat. He can handle your whining and pouting, but he won’t allow you to eat something so high in sugar. Though, if you were to start to tear up or give him the silent treatment, Chisaki would be willing to find some sort of alternative to your cravings, not wanting you to be in a foul mood- especially towards him.
On the other hand, Kurono is much more easy going. He's still very observant about you and protective towards you and the baby, but he is more willinging to sneak you in a few pieces of candy for you to eat. While Chisaki may be the one to prepare the food for you, he’s busy with items that pertain to the business which leaves for Kurono to sit with you and enjoy a meal. He’s there for his own enjoyment but to also make sure that you eat most of the food that has been prepared for you. If you are unable to, he is forgiving on that part, knowing that your pregnancy has made it difficult for you to enjoy certain foods and has worsened your appetite. There is no real solution to this that he can offer other than bringing you a nutritional shake for you to at least give you some energy. After you’re done with that, he’ll surprise you with pieces of candy, telling you to savor them because he's unsure of when he will be able to bring more. While you eat them, he’ll play with your hair, telling you that he’s glad he can have some alone time with you.
If you were to self harm, your partners would not react well. They’ll constantly question what signs they missed that you were unhappy, blame outside forces and even your pregnant]cy, citing all sorts of hormonal change that’s been going on. They’ll fix whatever they can, taking you to a parper hospital rather than treating you at the base. While Chisaki would be able to heal any of your wounds with his quirk, he’s fearful as to how his quirk and your body would react with a pregnancy. He isn’t going to risk the child’s life with something so serious. Instead, you’re taken to the hospital, a lie agreed upon by all three of you that you simply had injured yourself while prepping dinner.
However, if you were to try to terminate the pregnancy, they would be furious. You’re the child's parent as well, they’re the child’s fathers. They support any decision that you want to make about your body, but to do somethin so reckless- and to a family member, no less- they are beyond angry. You’re lucky for the baby to be well, the attempt in vain. They, however, cannot do anything to you before or after, so they simply try to move past it. They can’t strap you down to a bed until you come to full term due to exercise being important and they can’t restrict your access to the child because that’ll only ruin the bond between the entire family. They simply have you take melatonin, talking besides each other once you are in deep sleep, trying to figure out what they can do to ensure that this incident doesn’t happen again.
The base is baby proofed. Your room and the area that you reside in are placed under complete care- corners rounded out with plastic grips, cabinets locked and only members given the codes, anything sharp placed inside of locked cabinets, even pens and other writing utensils are carefully monitored to make sure that they are not left out in the open. Your privacy is taken away, the only privacy that you are given is in the bathroom and even that comes with a time limit. You are not allowed to do things yourself, you are watched and taken care of. Your glass cups are replaced with plastic, your eating utensils softed and food already pre-cut. You have lost all autonomy with your stunt.
Possibly the worst thing to arise from this is losing their trust. You have to earn it back and it’s entirely difficult to do so. You have no free will and they walk you around, deciding that no one else can take care of you like they can. No amount of pleading nor tears will have them change their mind so soon. Their words are always the same- “they aren’t trying to punish you even if it seems like that, but you have to understand that what you did wasn’t right.” You’re talked down to, told that you don’t know what’s right for you. They’ll sleep beside you, a lock on all the doors and their arms above you, keeping you trapped with them and forced to sleep in the same bed as them.
Due to your declining mental health, both Kai and Hari decide to be your therapist, or at least your outlet. They want to help you but it’s difficult for you to be let out- who knows what lies you would spread, they muse. It doesn’t matter what you say- you could insult them, cry and beg for death, or even just talk about a meal you dislike- all that matters is that you speak to them. They want to help you and having you suffer with your thought salone, believing that no one is there to help you, is something that they simply will not have. They care for you, but you must understand that your lack of freedom is something that you brought upon yourself. If it were anything else but this, they would have allowed you freedom much quicker, but you put the child in jeopardy and for that, you have to suffer the consequences and sit in your guilt until they feel that you’re better.

Pretend: Overhaul/reader (Part 1)
Tumblr media
You grew up with Chisaki Kai. Your duty is to protect and serve and care for him. You’re closer to him than anybody else in the Shie Hassaikai. The paradox is that sometimes- or maybe since forever ago- you feel as if you barely know him at all. (You still remember being overhauled.) (Part 2 coming...sometime! lol EDIT: Part 2!) Warning:  child abuse, abusive/dysfunctional relationships in general, violence, Chisaki Kai is his own warning, references to the Overhaul quirk and its gorier aspects Gosh it has been *so long* since I posted anything??? Thanks so much to anybody who’s still hanging around on this blog;;; feast your eyes on this bad boy tho, I’ve been working on it since literally last year and almost deleted it several times but couldn’t bring myself to! Here’s to hoping I actually finish it this time :,)  This fic is also on the darker side of the things I upload on this blog sooo pls do heed the warnings and read at your own risk ;-; -Mod Eve ______ “This is Kai.” The old man’s hand is warm and heavy on your shoulder. “I hope you both get along. Kai- be good to our new family.” You like the old man, the ‘’boss.’’ You haven’t been cold since he took you in. Hunger has become a temporary, rather than a constant thing, and you feel safe, there in the midst of these people with tattooed skin and sharp, strong gazes. But this boy has cold eyes. He stares at you long and hard with them as he nods, silent and unyielding. You shiver instinctively, leaning back into the shadows of the boss’ big, black coat. You do not want to get along with Kai.
__________ Kai is a strange boy. He looks at everybody as if he hates them- everybody except for the boss. He doesn’t talk much. He hates being touched. He scares you, a little, but you learn to stop flinching. Both of you want to please the boss, and the boss wants you to get along. So you do just that. You fold origami together (Kai sits and watches you make clumsy cranes and airplanes, occasionally speaking up to tell you that your corners are mismatched or that he thinks you’ve forgotten a step). You eat meals together (egg rolls are the only thing Kai eats any more than a few mouthfuls of so you give him yours; you’re supposed to be friends and that’s what friends do). You sleep on opposite sides of the same big, bare room (empty on Kai’s side because clutter makes him nervous, compromised on your side because he is also supposed to be considerate towards you). You grow together, centimeters adding up on top of centimeters over weeks, months, years, marking off your heights on the bedroom wall with a pen. Kai grows tall, lanky, pale and golden-eyed, all glass-cut chin and cold charisma. At some point, you get separate rooms, and then you see less of each other. He still scares you, in a sense. He’s always been weird, always kind of paranoid and mean and distant. In all your years of sharing a room and a childhood, you’ve never once touched him. You imagine his skin must feel cold. But cold or warm, cruel or kind, to all intents and purposes- you’re still family. You still offer him your egg rolls at mealtimes. When he visits your room, he tolerates the occasional mess. You can get along, you tell yourself, as the boss smiles at the both you through a wrinkled, careworn mouth. After all, you reflect, it’s not so hard. You can play pretend. _____ By the time Eri arrives, you’ve been playing pretend for far too long. She’s small- painfully so. Small and frightened as she curls into her blankets, eyes wide, lips trembling, the small horn peeking out of her long white hair like a tumor. Boss doesn’t often give direct orders; not to you and Kai, anyway. You’re aware that for children of the yakuza, you’ve both been dreadfully coddled. It’s all out of the goodness of the old man’s heart. Until the day he dies, he only ever enforces two orders on you. One, is that you get along with Kai. Two, is that you protect Eri. You remember being hungry, once upon a time. Hungry and cold with nowhere to go and no one to turn to. There’s an old throb in the pit of your stomach whenever you think of it, of the starvation and pain burning at your nerve endings from the inside out. You never asked to be abandoned. No child ever does. Rule number two isn’t really an order; you choose Eri, choose to love her and cherish her. It’s what the boss did for you. It’s what any child deserves. (You don’t like the way Kai looks at her.) _____ Kai has plans. You are aware of this. He’s smart and good at most things he puts his mind to; it’s why the yakuza respects him, and why you tend to trust his plans, even when you don’t particularly want to. The tired lines on the boss’ face bother you. It’s concerning, the way he often asks for you nowadays, calls you his study only to have you sit and play with Eri, watching the two of you as if he has something to say but doesn’t quite dare to. In the end, he only sighs and thanks you for sparing some time for his granddaughter. That’s nothing, you want to say, you’d do that any day, because the boss is your family and you’ve promised yourself to protect Eri, but the words die in your mouth. You wonder why Kai is never invited to these meetings. Then again, Kai is in charge of managing Eri’s quirk, so maybe he deserves a break from playtime. Time passes, and the white in the boss’ hair grows more pronounced. He begins to struggle, to grow more and more tired, the lines deepening in his forehead like furrows in a field. One late night, after dinner, he gazes at you calmly from over the desert- a slice of vanilla cake that he’s barely touched. His large, wrinkled hand rests gently on his granddaughter’s head. “Take care of her,” he tells you quietly. “Protect her. No matter what happens. That’s all I would ask of you.” You want to ask why he looks so grim, what it is you would need to protect her from, but the boss’ voice drifts off and he bows his head. He suddenly looks very small. “And thank you for your kindness towards Kai. You’ve done much for the boy. I fear, sometimes…” What he fears, you never learn, because he falls silent without finishing the sentence. “I will,” you reassure him, desperate to lift a bit of the burden that seems to rest on his broad, black-clad shoulders; gone are the days when you were still small enough to hide in the folds of his coat. You’ve got to be braver now, show him that all the trust and care he’s given you were not in vain. “I swear. Eri will always be safe with me. And I’ll take care of Kai, too.” This is the last conversation you have with him. ____ Kai calls you to his room the day after the boss falls unconscious. His golden eyes bore into yours and you feel the familiar chill run down your spine. “I’m in charge now,” he says, voice perfectly even behind the black mask that covers his mouth. “I hope that my position doesn’t change things between us. We’re still friends, aren’t we?” Despite all your years of friendship, you still can’t read Kai- it’s strange, to you, the way he spent the entirety of last night downstairs by the boss’ bed, but now talks about his promotion as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. Then again, he’s always had different ways of expressing himself. Though it needles at you, you remember your promise to the boss- your last promise, the only way you could ever repay him for his kindness- and convince yourself to nod. “Of course. You can count on me.” ____ Not a day after the yakuza gains a new leader, you fail the boss. Eri looks tense as Chrono leads her off, her favorite teddy clutched in one small hand, her little mouth set in a stiff, frowning line. She doesn’t know where she’s going. You don’t know, either. Not really. Kai has a plan. You must trust his plans. You tell this to yourself over and over, the uneasiness creeping into the pit of your stomach as you watch Eri’s small figure disappear around a bend in the corridor. ____ “He wants you in Eri’s room,” Chrono informs you, hours later. “She feels more comfortable with you.” What happened? The words echo in your mind as you find your way down the corridors to the large, whitewashed room where Eri sleeps with her dolls. And there she is, sitting on the bed. There are bandages around her arms and legs and tearstains on her face. What happened? Your heart’s beating so hard you can taste it, the bile bitter on your tongue as you swallow down your panic. What’s going on? But the words won’t come out. Eri looks to Chrono, and then she looks to you. She stretches out her small, bandaged arms for a hug. She still looks halfway to sobbing. And you don’t question it. Not here, not now. You just pick her up and rock her, smoothing a hand through her long, tangled hair and whispering comforting words, because it’s all going to be ok- it must be. Kai has a plan, and you’re supposed to trust him. “It’s just her quirk,” Chrono tells you, which is vague, but that’s fine; you can work with vague for now, the way you always have. You nod in understanding and keep rocking Eri. (Her small body shakes like a leaf in your arms, and though it’s summertime and the room is warm, both her hands and yours are cold as ice.) _____ Eri’s limbs are always bandaged. Whatever Kai does with her, you’re not allowed to see- and this is fine, too, because you’re not a high-ranking member, anyway. Your quirk is weak, simple telekinesis that just about corresponds to your physical strength, and without the boss, you’re just here by virtue of being Kai’s good friend. Because you are good friends, still, even if he always has you off on minor missions and only ever summons you to occasionally babysit Eri. And Eri’s limbs are always bandaged. “Sickness,” is Kai’s cryptic explanation. “A side-effect of her quirk. We’re just trying to save her from herself.” You know Eri’s quirk is dangerous. You know it caused her father’s death and her mother’s abandonment. You suppose it’s a good thing, then, if Kai’s looking for a way to get it under control. “It’s what the boss would have wanted.” And you are very good at playing pretend, have learned how to lie through your teeth since you were old enough to talk, can fool yourself as well as you fool everybody else- It’s what the boss would have wanted, you remind yourself, cradling Eri in your arms as she dozes off. You will get along with Kai, and you will do what is best for this child. Just as you were asked to. “It’s alright,” you whisper, more to yourself than to Eri. She’s already fallen asleep. _____ “See, Eri? The bird goes whoosh!” You snap your fingers with a little more flair than is strictly necessary, and the clumsy paper crane goes zooming around the room. Eri watches with wide, bright eyes and claps her hands in delight. “I wish,” she tells you later that night as you tuck her into bed, quiet and confidential, “I wish I had a nice quirk like yours.” “Thank you.” You smile in spite of yourself. “But Eri-chan, my quirk isn’t very strong, you know?” “But it’s nice,” she repeats, snuggling under the covers, only the top of her horned head peeking out. “It makes things jump and fly. I want a nice quirk like yours.” There’s a strange note in her voice- a strained, sad sound, too sad for such a small girl. It doesn’t sit right with you. There’s something you should say, but you’re not sure what it is. “You’re a good girl, Eri,” you say instead, pressing a kiss to the top of her snowy white head and wrapping your arms around her. “Go to bed now.” “Will you be back soon?” she asks, big eyes already half-closed, the lids weighed down with sleep. “You go on so many missions...” Her voice trails off into nothingness, soft and wistful, another quiet whisper dissipating into the shadows of the whitewashed bedroom. Pity claws at your heart. “I’ll be back soon,” you promise. (This is, of course, a lie.) ____ “Again, Eri?” Kai’s voice is quiet and controlled, laced with paternal disappointment as he looks down at the quivering figure before him. Eri looks at the floor. Her shoulders are shaking. “You should know better by now. Look at how you’ve inconvenienced everybody. Chrono...me...and,” he glances at you sharply. “your dearest friend.” A beat of silence, and with a patter of bare feet against the cold floor, Eri rushes forward and clings to his leg. “I’m sorry,” comes her muffled voice over and over, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I won’t run again...” You watch, and as you are prone to do in Kai’s presence, you shiver. _____ That night, as she’s drifted off to sleep, you shift the bandages on Eri’s wrist. There’s dried blood underneath. No visible wound. You’re no scholar, neither are you a fighter. You know nothing about quirk science. You know even less about Eri’s ability, or how it would affect her. Maybe, maybe this is normal; maybe this is the problem Kai is trying to fix. But there’s a part of you that remembers what it’s like to be overhauled, and that part of you grows cold as you watch the child sleep. _____ (You were about sixteen when you let Kai overhaul you. Just to see what it would feel like. Just to see what he was capable of. Friends help friends practice things like that. You remember the feeling of disintegration, of flesh being pulled from bone and muscles unraveling into strings, veins dissolving around blood which sprayed into the air and your voice dissolving from your lungs with the liquid. Just like that, gone. And just like that, whole again. Kai looked down at you, sixteen himself, eyes golden as the sun and sharp as a knife. He reached out a gloved hand to help you back up. You still have no idea what he was thinking at the time.) _____ Here is a theory: You’re rarely at headquarters because most of the time, Kai doesn’t want you there. You’re told to babysit Eri because you are a rarely-seen prize- a reward for good behavior. Good behavior is when she doesn’t scream. It’s when she doesn’t try to run away. There are a thousand different things she could be running from, but as you sit across from Kai in his office, listening as he lists off your next set of orders, you suspect that the primary one is right here in the room with you. And whatever he’s doing, he doesn’t want you to know. (When things begin to make sense is when you always end up wishing that they never did.) ___ The next time you leave headquarters, you do so with a feeling of dread. Eri watches you go, and for the first time, you recognize the look in her wide eyes as terror. (Like your family once left you, you leave her behind.) ___ This was once home. You pace the floor of your bedroom, back and forth, back and forth, hands cold, heart colder, shoulders shaking. You grew up in this room- in this place. It is home. It was home. Even as you pace, you don’t know, you have no clue, what is happening to Eri? Where is she? What is Kai doing to her? Why, why, why, You remember being overhauled, the bloodstain of your remains sprayed across these very walls. Kai doesn’t want you to know. You are supposed to get along with Kai. You are supposed to protect Eri. Your hands are clammy, ribs constricting around your lungs as you stare up at the ceiling, wondering. The room spins. Your thoughts are screaming. Boss, what have we done to Eri? _____ You strike deals in the dark, fading underbelly of Japan, gathering information and tools, goods for trading, wares the criminals of this country are desperate to get their hands on. It’s all for the sake of the Shie Hassaikai. While you pass drugs to the next sunken-eyed dealer who wants to get their hands on them, you know Eri is with Kai, and your own hands tremble until you almost drop your cargo. (One of your old clients used to tell you, back when you’d just started in the business- “You ain’t cut out for this work, kid. Better run back while you still can.” You didn’t have anywhere to run back to, and when you told him that, his yellow-toothed grin sagged.) There’s a list of solutions in your brain right now- you’re good at solutions, at formulating plans and calculating possibilities. It’s why Kai trusts you with the business side of the Shie Hassaikai. But your list right now consists of dead ends, of a thousand different scenarios that all end in Kai and his molten-sun eyes, his gloved hand reaching towards your face, his quirk coursing through you and taking you apart piece by piece, and maybe this time he won’t put you together again. Not that you’ve ever known him not to- but you are afraid of Kai, and you’ve learned to trust your fear. Sometimes it’s the only thing worth trusting. (If you want to keep Eri alive, you’ll keep playing pretend.) ____ This time, when you return, Kai is there. He asks you to dinner. “Business is going smoothly. You’re doing good work.” His mask is off; it feels like years since the last time you saw him without it, and the face beneath it has changed. The jaw is sharper, the mouth thinner. This is no longer a child’s face, if it ever was at all. Rice sticks like glue in your throat as you reply, “Thank you- you’re too kind.” You hand him your egg rolls. It comes reflexively-  he no longer needs you to feed him, and there’s no boss watching over your shoulders to ensure that you play nice with each other. For whatever reason, he accepts them. (It occurs to you that you’ve never known, and still don’t know, whether he actually likes eggs or not. Whether it’s only the rolls that he eats. Whether he eats them because he enjoys the taste or just for the satisfaction of taking something else from you.) “And you’re too formal,” he says, taking a delicate bite. He smiles, a rare expression, and you wonder if you should treasure it. (Rather, you wish he’d stop.) Dinner almost ends on a pleasant note- as pleasant as it gets with Kai nowadays- but it really ends when Chrono bursts in through the doors, announcing tensely that Eri is gone again. Kai stands. You do, too, and follow him as he silently exits the room, praying that he’ll be too late. (He’s not.) But when you hold Eri in your arms that night, soothing her as you rock her back and forth, back and forth, you listen to her whisper in your ear about a boy she met, a boy with big green eyes and freckles all over his face, a boy who held her for a moment without hurting her. The story seems to shine like a floodlight in the darkness. Somebody out there has seen Eri. Somebody out there knows. Somebody out there cares. You don’t generally depend on the charity of your fellow human beings. The Shie Hassaikai taught you better, and so did Kai. But the boss taught you something a little more than either. You rock Eri to sleep and hope beyond hope for a miracle. Let the heroes pull through. Let them save your little girl.

i'm going to make you cry -Evil laugh sounds- what about overhaul Angst/Fluff with a S/O who lost the ability to walk in a fire (She has an absorption quirk that allows her to acquire characteristics of everything she touches, for example, if she touched Shigaraki she could have her physical characteristics and copy her quirk) you can make it headcanon or scenario, The one you prefer, thank you!
C/n: Firstly: WOW! What a request. Secondly: I love Overhaul so a fluffy Overhaul makes me melt. And YAY, you’re my first My Hero Academia request! Thanks for the request, Anon and I hope that you enjoy🤍

I’m a Burden(An Overhaul x Reader Oneshot)
Tumblr media
I can’t...move.
Y/n lays on the ground while she tries to regain consciousness.
Everything...hurts.
Screaming. That’s the first thing she hears. When she opens her eyes, everything was on fire. The roof was missing, wood was cut down and bodies were everywhere.
“Y/n! Y/n can you hear me?”, she hears Chronostatis speak to her. “Ha-Hari. I can’t feel, anything.” She tells him. Chrono looks at her body and sees her legs...badly injured.
“Y/n, don’t worry. I’m getting you out of here.”, he says looking around. “Where’s Kai?”, she asks. “I don’t know. I didn’t see him before the explosion.” Explosion? Y/n feels her eyes closing but before she lost consciousness she heard his voice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ugh what is going on?
Y/n wakes up in a warm bed. When she opens her eyes, she adjusts to the bright lights.
Where am I?
She feels all these types of wires in her and all those beeping noises. Trying to move up, she feels it.
Her legs...they’re...gone.
Lifting the blanket up she sees her legs cut off from her knees downward. Y/n widens her eyes and starts to cry. “Oh my god..”, she puts her head in her hands and ball her eyes out. “No..no this can’t be...this can’t be real.”, she cries out.
Hearing her cries, a doctor and nurse come to her aid. “Ms Y/n. It’s okay, calm down. Let me explain what happened.”, the doctor says while rubbing her back.
Apparently, Y/n had caught the impact of the explosion back at HQ and it really caused a lot of damage to her body. Her legs being the worst. They were practically burnt by the time the ambulance arrived and there was no hope in saving them.
“Where is Kai Chisaki, doc? Have you heard of him?”, y/n asks the doctor. “Mr Chisaki is fine. He is actually waiting to see you.” That makes your breath hitch. How will Kai react to this? He already has so much trouble taking care of himself since his hands were taken away, and now...You couldn’t do that to him.
“No, Doc. I don’t want to see him. Please tell him not to come and don’t tell him of my status.”, you tell the doctor and nurses. Confused, the doctor obeys your wish. You lay in the hospital bed and look out the window. It was raining. I hate rainy days.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two weeks have passed since the accident and Kai had been trying to get to you. But nobody allowed him through since he wasn’t family. He saw your mom and sister go to see you. Why didn’t you want to see him? Was it because he wasn’t there when the explosion happened? Because he was too late in protecting you? Have you finally come to your senses in realizing that he couldn’t take care of you the proper way? No. You weren’t the type of person to leave someone because of a disability. You were kind, warm and loving. And you loved him. At least, that’s what he hoped.
The day had come when you were discharged from hospital. And instead of going back to your shared home with Kai, you went with your mom. She said that she wanted to take care of you and promised to never leave you. A mother’s love, huh?
You had your own wheelchair and within a month, you would start treatment and your prosthetic legs were going to be ready for you.
The hospital also recommended therapy so you could come to terms with what had happened. Which you gladly accepted against your will.
Your mom and sister helped you with everything. You felt bad, and you had told them that. But they slapped your head and told you “Family is family no matter what.” Currently laying on your bed, you scroll through your phone checking messages and missed phone calls. And you see his name.
Kai💜
56 messages
67 missed calls.
Oh my god. You resisted the urge to call him, to hear his voice or to read those messages. You couldn’t...
“Y/n?”, you hear your sister call you. “Yeah?”, you answer back. She comes into your room. “There’s a visitor for you.” Oh god. Please don’t let it be... “It’s Haru? Hari? Anyway he has white-grayish hair and said he was a friend of yours.” Oh thank god. “Hari. Yeah allow him in.” She leaves and you put your phone away waiting for your guest.
“Hey, you.” , you hear Chrono’s voice. “Hi, Hari. How are you? Were you hurt?”, you ask him. “Just a couple of scratches.”, he says walking up to you to sit on your bed. “How are you?” He asks. You look down and feel a few tears slip. You pull off the covers to show him your bandages.
You hear him gasp. It’s soft but it was there. “Y-Y/n. Oh no. I-I’m so sorry.”, he tells you while holding your hand. You shake your head. “It’s okay. Don’t feel sorry for me. I’m fine.” “Can’t you heal them? Your quirk is to absorb other powers. So if you absorbed a healing quirk maybe your legs might-..” “I can’t.” You say bluntly which makes Chrono sigh. “Why not?”
“It wouldn’t last. The doctors said that if I had to absorb a regeneration quirk, my legs would grow back, but I won’t have them forever, so in order to have them forever I have to have someone who is willing to give up their powers for me and I can’t do that. I can’t take someone else’s power for my personal greed. It’s too much of work and too much of trouble.”
Chrono listens intently. Your pure heart always was a pain. Overhaul thought so too. But, none of them argued with you because once you put your mind on something, no one could change your mind.
“Did you speak to Kai?”, Chrono asks you. “No. I can’t have him be with me anymore.” “What? Why not?” “Hari, I’m a burden to him at this state. I would only bother him and make things worse. I can’t have him leaving everything for me. He has a life.”, you explain to him. Chrono pinches the bridge of his nose. “You might be the dumbest person I have ever met.” You widen your eyes. “Huh?” “How could you think that, Y/n? Do you really think he would give up on you that easily? He loves you. He tolerates you. He lets you kiss him, without the mask on. Do you know special you are to him? Y/n, I’m calling him. And I’m telling him where you are.” “No, Hari. Wait..” but he called already. He paced around your room until Kai picked up and when he did Chrono started speaking.
“She’s here, Kai. Come and see her.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chrono left shortly after and you waited. The wait killed you. What was he going to say? Would he break up with you? Your overthinking corrupted your mind until there was a knock on the door.
“Uh, come in.”, you say. The door opens,’and there he was.
“Kai...”, you say softly. He looked so hurt. His eyes were black underneath and although he had his mask on, you could tell he was so disappointed.
He walked up to you and sat on the chair next to your bed. He hadn’t said a word to you yet. “K-Kai say something, please.”, you whisper to him.
But he doesn’t. He just slowly lifts your blanket up with his prosthetic hands and looks at the damage. You heard his breath hitch and saw his eyes widen. You looked down and covered your face with your hands.
“Why didn’t you let me see you?”, he asks softly. You lift your head up and look at him. “I-I..felt like..I would..bother you.” He meets your eyes and shakes his head. “Bother me? How?” He asks simply. “Kai, I won’t be able to walk for a month. I would just be a burden to you.” As soon as you said those words, Kai kissed you. He pulled his mask down, and kissed you. “Dont. You. Ever. Say. That. Again.”, he says in between kisses. “I’m sorry I didn’t get to you in time. I’m sorry that this happened. It’s all my fault.” He apologizes. “No, Kai. Don’t. It’s not your fault.”, you cup his face. “God, I can’t even be mad at you right now. I’m just glad that you’re safe. Chrono told me about how you can’t or better yet, won’t use your quirk. Which is fine. I love you but I’m taking you back home.” He says hugging you. “I love you too.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kai brought you back home, after much debate with your mother. He carried you, bridal style everywhere around the house just to see you smile.
He paid a home doctor to come check up on you and took you to every appointment that needed to be attended. Your mom and sister came to visit and help around but Kai always did the most.
When your prosthetic legs came, Kai helped you learn how to use them. He caught you when you fell, and lifted your spirits up when you felt you couldn’t do it.
“Yes you can, angel. Don’t lose hope. I’m right here.”
You both helped each other with your respective prosthetics. You helped him with his hands and he helped with your legs. You weren’t ready to go out yet and Kai did not mind. He didn’t force you. You were ready, when you were ready.
You joked around about your disability with Kai quite often which made him roll his eyes and chuckle at you. But the best one he heard was when you two were cuddling.
“You know, since you don’t have your hands and I don’t have my legs, we complete each other.”
He smiled and kissed you softly. Yeah, you did complete each other.

And as the world comes to an end
A kylux fic written for the Kiss Prompt going around. The prompt was #40 - “... because the world is ending”.
A huge thanks to Tails89 for beta reading.
Word count: 1350

They’ve lost.
Hux knows in his gut that this is the end. The New Republic, led by Organa, have pushed them back to their last star destroyer, and now the Resistance has breached it too. Even the scavenger girl and the traitorous FN-2187 were present, no doubt to confront Ren.
There’s no escape this time, not with the rebels literally breaking down their doors as they storm their last ship. With no other options, Hux keys in his command overrides and initiates the ship’s self-destruct sequence.
If he's going down, he's taking as many of the rebel scum with him as he can.
Now, there’s nothing to do but wait for the inevitable, which according to his chrono is less than five minutes away. With nothing else to do, Hux makes his way to the throne room. There at least he can spend his last moments where he always wanted to be, always deserved to be. Seated on a throne that should have been his.
The doors to the throne room slide open, and Hux strides in, only to find the Supreme Leader already there. He’s crumpled at the base of the dais, face down, and for a moment Hux thinks he might already be dead. But as he draws closer he can hear ragged breaths.
Ren is the absolute last person that Hux wishes to spend his final moment with. But when has the universe ever seemed to care for what he wants?
But, even Hux has to admit there’s a kind of cosmic irony to all of this. That, at the end of everything, it’s still the two of them. Perhaps, if they could have worked together, they would not be where they are now. On more than one occasion Hux had wondered what they could have been, had circumstances been different. Had the universe put them side by side, in a meaningful way, and not at each other’s throats.
But now is not the time to dwell on what-ifs. There’s barely time for anything.
Ren must still be lucid enough to notice his surroundings though, because he turns his head towards Hux as he approaches.
Hux pauses just in front of Ren, and their eyes find each other.
The Supreme Leader is in a bad way. His skin is ashen and sallow. There’s a gaping wound in his left side, just under his heart, that’s seeping onto the steps and pooling around him. His heavy and rough breaths indicate that there’s likely blood pooling in his lungs as well. Even if they could get him medical attention immediately, Hux doubts that it would save him.
Kylo Ren, Supreme Leader of the First Order, monster to the New Republic, once an unstoppable one-man war machine, has only minutes left to live.
But, so does Hux.
“Hux” Ren rasps out, like he can’t believe he’s here. He tries to push himself up, but it’s too much of a strain to do anything more than prop one of his arms underneath him. It would be almost pitiful, if not for the fact that he still stubbornly draws breath. It’s a fierce wound. A lesser man would already be dead.
He and Ren have always been similar in that regard - never staying down until they could physically no longer stand.
“Ren,” Hux says simply. Now is not the time for titles. He gestures to the wound in Ren’s side. “Did the girl do that?”
“She did,” Ren replies, and a flicker of rage crosses his features. It must be enraging, to be so thoroughly beaten, even worse than he was on Starkiller. “You set the self-destruct?”
“Yes.”
“Good.” Ren hisses out, as he finally manages to manoeuvre his dying body into a sitting position. After a moment, he adds, “My name is Kylo.”
“No last-minute reprieve for Ben Solo?” Hux taunts.
“No last-minute deal with the Resistance?” Ren - Kylo - seethes back, his fury evident. Hux doesn’t doubt that if Kylo could summon the force, he would have already used it against him. “Your life, spared for information?”
Hux clenches his fists. It stings, because of how true it could be. He’d considered it, first when Kylo had become the Supreme Leader, and again just months earlier, when the Order first began to crumble. But even he knows that no amount of information can wash away the stain of Starkiller.
They hold each other’s stare. It’s Kylo who breaks first, his body wracked by agonising coughs as he fights to take in oxygen.
It would be easy for Hux to just walk past him and take the throne. Kylo is in no condition to stop him, and Hux could just ignore him as he bleeds out on the floor.
His thoughts do not escape Kylo’s notice.
“Go on, take it,” Kylo challenges. “You’ve always wanted it.”
“I never wanted this.” Hux argues, feeling exhausted. He wanted power. He wanted the galaxy at his feet. He wanted Kylo, not against him but beside him. The thought of taking the throne suddenly seems hollow. They’ve lost, and nothing can change that now. He doesn’t deserve it. Neither of them do.
So, instead, he sits next to Kylo, careful to avoid the blood. If Kylo is surprised by his move, he says nothing.
They sit in silence, side by side. If not for his rough exhales, Hux would wonder if the force user had already expired. Hux checks his chrono again and tries to ignore how he’s started to shake. Less than two minutes remaining. He throws his chrono across the room and pointedly does not look at Kylo.
Beside him, Kylo sighs.
“Some Jedi,” Kylo begins, each word clearly a struggle to get out. “Believe that after death, a soul is just reborn into another body.”
“Is that right?” Hux says, humouring him. If he didn’t know better, he would think that Kylo is trying to comfort him.
Kylo nods in response, as he drags himself closer to Hux. “We’ll get it right next time. The New Republic will fall before us.”
“We? Us?” Hux says incredulously, because surely Kylo isn’t implying what he thinks he is. “Does the force truly hate me that much that it would curse me with you again?”
“You need me as I need you,” Kylo says, like it’s the simplest, clearest thing in the universe. It’s the truth, and Hux should hate it, but he doesn’t. “We’re destined. I see that now.”
Hux never thought he’d spend his last living moments talking afterlife philosophy with a failed Jedi, yet here he is. Somehow, it feels right .
“Destined how?”
Kylo closes the distance between them, his free hand reaching up and caressing the side of Hux’s face. Then, he leans in and kisses him.
It’s not what Hux imagined it would be like. He’d always thought that it would be a forceful or vicious thing, and he supposes that the taste of blood on his lips somewhat matches that. But instead, Kylo kisses with a surprising gentleness, like it's an act of worship. There’s a passion there as well, as if he’s pouring the last of everything he has into it.
Stars, he probably is. Kylo has never done anything by halves. It’s almost overwhelming, that at the end of everything, he chooses this, chooses him.
After a moment, Kylo breaks away. “I’ve been wanting to do that for a while.”
“So have I,” Hux breathes, as he once again closes the distance between them. Their second kiss is short but just as sweet, and when they break away, they rest their foreheads together.
Kylo leans into him, no longer able to keep himself upright. Hux finds that he doesn’t mind, his dead weight now somehow comforting. One of his own hands starts carding through Kylo’s hair.
There can only be seconds left.
The only regret Hux has is that they only worked this out now.
“Next time.” Hux promises, as he laces his free hand with Kylo’s own.
Kylo hums in agreement, words obviously beyond him now. Hux holds him tighter.
(This is how death will find them: broken, defeated, but together)

If it’s not too much to ask, can we get a part 2 for the Chisaki meeting eri again? But this time it’s her and the other heroes trying to “save” Angel and the children but realized how much he changed after meeting Angel and his family. I bet they would be shook that this man is capable of love, I just want to read their thoughts reactions, especially Eri.
Tumblr media
"Papa let me brush your hair!" Kin asked cutely at her father whose was reading a book. He arched one eyebrow at her request before hissing at his older son picking his pierced ear.
"Kaito you brat let go!" He growled as the boy laughed but pointed to the board of shogi on the middle of them.
"You promised to play with me!"
"Now, now.." you came with a tray of snacks and put on the coffe table, catching your kids attention as Kai let out a sigh of relief "Dont be too pushy on your dad kiddos, is not always he has a whole week of a break so he needs to rest as well."
"Thanks my angel." He sighed while letting his head rest on the back of the sofa before he almost shouted in pain when both Kin and Kaito tackled him on a hug on the ground somehow... Kin was poking her daddy's head as Kaito laughed on his back while the man only managed to mutter a dramatic 'help' to you.
You giggled at the scene before Kurono entered the room and chuckled at the scene as well.
"Not wanting to disturb the family moment here, but Chisaki." He called at the man on the floor "There are some heroes outside the gate and told they wanted to speak to you."
"Boooo!" Kaito pouted, still sitting on his dad's back as he made a thumb down as Kin hugged her daddy's neck with a whine.
"No! Papa is ours now! Heroes go away!" The dark brow haired girl whined before giggling when her father pushed himself up with a sigh and stood there hanging on his back as Kaito yelped but immediately launched on his right leg.
"It has to be now?" The male asked Chrono as he only answered with a nod. He sighed and manage to pry his kids off of him as you giggled at his almost desperation "Those two become leeches or what?!"
"They only want their daddy." You giggled with crossed arms before gladly picking up Kin as you accepted Kaito's hug. You gladly agreed to watch over haru as well since Hari asked you while he accompanied Kai.
He rolled his eyes at you before following Chrono out of the house.
"Have any idea whose sick are out there?" He sighed with hands on his pockets as Kurono shrugged while scracthing his neck.
"No.. Tabe was the one to answer it first then soon went after me." He commented as Kai gave a signal to open only to be greeted by the heros Eraserhead, Lemillon and Deku... and one person in spefic left not only him but Hari as well frozen in place as they saw her ruby eyes staring aprehensively yet determined at them.
Eri... out of all people... He had given her orders to NOT coming back after he let her go to raise a family correctly... yet, there she was.
"We can talk a bit right? You dont see occupied." Aizawa commented blantly already making his way inside the yard as the others quickly followed him.
"What is the meaning of-" he tried to speak but Lemillion beat him to it.
"Dont worry mister! Is just a quick investigation." He patted Eri's head as she gulped, looking at everywhere but in Hafi and Kai's eyes.
"Investigation for..?"
"Abuse." Deku answered which let Chisaki and Kurono almost panicking "We received an... anonymous warning about you Mr. Chisaki."
"Anonymous..." he muttered while sending a death glare towards the girl who manage to hide her gasp.
The heroes forced their way into their house as Chisaki only crossed his arms and refused to speak first. The pros only staring at each other before Deku made the first move.
"S-so! You have any children?" Kai only narrowed his eyes at the young boy but nodded his head slowly.
"How you usually treat them?" Aizawa arched an eyebrow and Chisaki felt his hives going crazy on his skin as he started to scratch his forearm.
"Are you insuaniting something? Hero?" He said nonchantly the words but Eraser didn't even flinched as Eri gulped and took the courage.
"Where a-are they?"
"Not even one of you will see my kids." He growled as Kurono closed the door... but not enough to prevent a pair of golden and (e/c)'s eyes to see what was happening.
"Why not?" Lemillion asked in concern.
"Do you hurt them? That's why you're hidding them?" Eri asked, tears almost dripping from her eyes as she stared at the two "Do any of you not remember at hurting anyone?!"
"Eri-chan." Deku put his hand on her shoulder as she controlled herself.
"We also wanted to speak to your wife at least." Kai widened his eyes at that "Hinst of abuse acn be spotted pretty clearly when we talked to-"
"I. Dont. Hurt. Them." He gritted his teeth together "I wouldn't dare to lay a finger on-"
"Only her?" Lemilliom asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Kai was about to combust before all heads were turned to the door opening as Kaito and Kin entered.
"Papa?" Kin asked in concern while patting his knee.
"What are you doing with my dad and uncle? Back off!" Kaito exclaimed while standing in front of his father.
"Kaito." The man sighed while letting his gloved hand on the boy's head "take your sister and get out. Everything is alri-"
"No it's not!" The boy shouted, surprising everyone in the room "Those heroes always think us are the bad guys but you're not dad!" The boy cried as Kai widened his eyes in shock. As he felt a damp on the place where hsi daughter was holding onto.
"Hey hey that's okay you two." Lemillion cooed at the two kids as Eri blinked in shock as well at how much these kids seemed to love him... him.
"Dont take my papa..." the little girl cried making Chisaki a bit lost as he furrowed hsi eyebrows together and sighed. Regaining his compusture and looking at the heroes with much more calmness than before.
"Give us a minute?" They all nodded and went to outside, only for Eri to lift her eyebrow up and return only for peeking at the scene of the two children weeping as Kai, kneeled on one knee, trying on his own way to comfort his children.
"What..?" Eri muttered in shock before seing a woman entering along with a white haired shaped arrow girl... The woman went to the dark brow haired kids and man while the little girl launched herself on Chrono.
The way Chisaki stared at the kids and wife was so much different than what she once knew of... It was still serious as ever but it held a bit of... emotion on it. It held love...
It was so strange seing him that way. Like the man over there wasn't the one who threatened and almost succeed on making her own blood into bullets.
She narrowed her eyes a bit to see better and saw the little amber eyed girl and the (e/c) eyed boy pouting at Kai talking with them before hugging the man tightly with tears on their eyes... Chisaki stood there with his hands up in the air awkwardly before slowly lowering them down to hug them close as well.
She gasped in shock at scene. Knowing that once this man hated to be touched...
Looking at the scene and back at the heroes she took the courage to enter again as soon as the woman and children left.
"... you changed." Was the only thing she could muster, noticing the way Chisaki and Kurono tensed at her voice before they turned to look at her.
It still remained silence before Eri clenched her hands and dared to continue asking.
"Why? Why did you let me go?"
Kai refused to look at her before sighing.
"I dont feel like you need to hear it.... but it's just.. wasn't right. I couldn't keep doing that with my son coming."
"... you changed." She smiled with a soft look "You arent the monster I remembered of." Eri spoke softly as Kai only glared back at her.
"And I remember giving you orders to go and not coming back." He growled the words as Eri only stared back.
"I had to make sure those kids were safe. After all, I have my reasons." She arched her eyebrow at him as the both man only stared back.
"You will continue this?" Kurono asked in a growl as Eri shocked her head.
"No. As long as those kids are safe my duty as a student of U.A is done."
Kai almost wanted to puke at that but still remained silent. Eri soon convinced all the heros on his yard to go back since it was nothing... he didn't know how, but they left as soon as Eri talked to them.
Kai stared at the gate as Kurono let out a heavy sigh.
"And here I thought it was about to be a damn headache eh?" He elbowed Chisaki who seemed lost in thought "... You're okay Kai?"
"... Go spend the rest of the week with your daughter blockhead." He spoke in a sigh, walking away and leaving a very confused yet happy Kurono behind.
He opened the door to see his wife sitted on a bench as his kids played on the back yard, soon gasping at seing him closing the door and walking towards them.
"Daddy!" Ths both spoke in union before hugging his legs as you came to him.
"So?" You asked in concern as Kai pulled his mask down to show a smile me before he kissed your lips, mindful of Kaito's complains and Kin's cheers.
"Nothing. It was a mistake, just that."
"Gross." Kaito kicked slightly his father's leg as he only stared down.
"... so. You two wanted me to play?" Kai asked in the most boredoom tone as his kids let out confused noises before he suddenly grabbed your waist and tossed over his shoulder. You gasping at his actions as he stared at his kids nonchantly but with a smirk present.
"Better run or else both of you will get in trouble just like your mother that wasn't fast enough." The kids gasped and run off as you laughed at him putting you down again on the bench.
"Who are you and what did you do to my husband?" You giggled as he softened his gaze before staring at his kids running.
"Let's just say I have to enjoy and apreciate the moments I have with the people I learned what the word "love" meant." He spoke before walking towards his kids to agree to play whatever they wanted as you stared just a bit before joining along.

hello again! I'm the same anon that requested the story with the reader giving herself up to save Eri. I really, REALLY like the way that you wrote it, and I'd certainly love to see a part 2! You have such a talent for writing angst! ❤
A/N: Hi there once more! I’m really happy to hear that you liked it, since I was a little unsure of how it turned out (had to edit it quite a few times, till I was happy with my insecure ass xDD)! So as for now I’ll be featuring Aizawa, Nighteye and Fatgum (since Kirishima and Tamaki wouldn’t make much sense due to them being unconscious during the time I decided to write this in). Additionally I tried a new approach on Nighteye’s story, so I hope you enjoy these ones as well and thank you once again for the encouraging words! ❤
Oh and before I forget: (H/N) is once again your hero name while (L/N) is your last name ^^
Tags: Aizawa x reader ✅  Nighteye x reader ✅  Fatgum x reader ✅  SFW ✅  a lot of angst (once again) ✅
Setting this time will be after Mirio was shot and when he took Eli with him to escape, but before the girls fell through the floor. Only during Fatgum’s scenario the setting will be different!

Aizawa:
Tumblr media
“Damn it all!“
Right now you were running all the way to what seemed to be the center of the battlefield where your boyfriend Aizawa was supposed to be fighting against Overhaul, the leader of the crime organization ‘Shie Hassaikai’.
Or at least that is what a very injured Mirio had told you just a few minutes ago. Nighteye had apparently given him the task to protect Eri and try to escape with her. Hoping to be of some help you tried using your quirk on him and successfully managed to rewind and heal the stab wounds around his torso.
You had a similar quirk to Eri’s and that was the exact reason as to why the pro heroes were against you joining the mission, so why were you here anyway? Well the answer was quite easy...you snuck in and tried fighting as sneaky as possible alongside the other heroes.
The reason why you decided to be a rebel despite all of the warnings you got from people close to you, was because of something Aizawa had told you just before he left for today’s mission.
‘There are things in life that only we can do, no matter how dangerous or unreasonable they are.’
That were his last words before he kissed your forehead and left for duty.
You knew that his words were meant to calm you down, but they actually did the exact opposite.
After he had left you thought about what you could do with your similar quirk and all you came up with was to sneak in, pretend you were a part of the mission and sacrifice yourself.
It was the worst possible plan, it was stupid and you knew all that but you were desperate. Desperate to finally free Aizawa from all the stress he had to endure for this mission. Sleepless nights, nightmares or even days on which he didn’t return home. You witnessed it all and it pained you seeing him like that...so you decided to put an end to his own and his colleagues’ suffering, by doing the only think you could do.
Sacrifice yourself...
“(Y/N)?! What are you doing here...?”
Nighteye’s question brought you back to the present.
You had finally arrived at the battlefield and watched the horror that unfolded in front of your very own eyes.
Nighteye was hurt, bleeding and lying on the floor.
Midoriya’s whole body was bruised and scratched while he fought against Overhaul.
And there, close to Midoriya was Aizawa who had his quirk activated but luckily enough, he wasn’t hurt as badly as the others.
Before you could call out to him, you saw someone slowly creep up behind your boyfriend, but luckily...you were quicker.
“Eraserhead, behind you!”
Chrono unfortunately beat both of you to it and managed to pin Aizawa down while pressing a knife to his neck.
“Don’t move or he’ll die.“
That warning was meant for you as well as for Midoriya, who had to fall back in order to ensure his teacher’s safety.
Meanwhile Overhaul just giggled darkly at your failed attempt to rescue the black haired man. With a small nod towards his underling, the villain began a monologue on how he’ll get Eri to come back to him and that was your call.
“Overhaul, wait!”
This was the first time Aizawa actually turned to you and one didn’t have to be an expert to notice how mad he was to see you here, but that was the last thing on your mind right now.
With confident steps you slowly made your way towards the masked villain who eyed you from head to toe.
“(H/N)! What do you think you’re doing?!”
Completely ignoring the blade which was slowly piercing his neck’s skin, Aizawa’s eyes were glued to you and no matter what kind of comment he threw at you, you kept on walking and pretending not to hear his pleas.
“Now now...you shouldn’t interrupt (L/N) here, can’t you see that we’re striking a deal right now?”
You weren’t surprised to hear your last name coming from the villain’s mouth. He as well had done his researches...considering your quirk how could he possibly not do them?
He had played with the thought of kidnapping you as well (just in case that Eri’s body would give out some day), but he would’ve never expected to hear that exact same thought coming from the person in question. There was only one problem. You actually demanded for your comrades’ safety and Eri’s freedom. It didn’t seem like that bad of a deal, since Eri was just a child which makes her less durable than a full grown adult like you, additionally her powers have yet to achieve their true potential while yours were basically your second nature.
Overhaul nodded after a short while, signalizing his agreement. Fighting over a small and mentally unstable child wasn’t worth the trouble nor the casualties, so he didn’t want to prolong this conversation any further. He also didn’t know when you might actually change your mind, so for him the clock was already ticking.
“Don’t leave me! P-Please (Y/N)...”
You were just one step away from sacrificing yourself, but Aizawa’s voice finally reached your ears and what he had just said broke your heart in thousand pieces.
What am I doing...?
Overhaul saw the determination you had a few seconds ago, vanish from your eyes so he immediately grabbed your hand and pulled you towards him, making it harder for you to escape his grasp.
Now matter how much you or your boyfriend struggled against your opponents neither you nor Aizawa could escape their grasp. Midoriya and Nighteye couldn’t intervene and risk both of your lives, so they had to stand by and watch helplessly as the both of you were being separated from one another.
The only thing the two of you were able to do was to extend your hands towards each other and call out the other’s name. Tears falling down your cheeks, your voices slowly losing their high volume and when you guys noticed that there was nothing else you could do to escape this situation you guys said your last words.
“I love you...”
“I’m sorry...”

Nighteye:
Tumblr media
“Sasaki! Oh my god, are you alright?!”
Nighteye had just closed his eyes for what seemed to be a few seconds, but these seconds turned out to be several minutes during which Midoriya’s injuries had doubled, Aizawa as well as Eri who was alongside Mirio were gone and you had apparently arrived. He felt your arms wrapped around his sore body, but what he didn’t feel anymore was his injury...he figured that that was your doing so he looked up at you with a thankful and relieved expression.
“(Y/N)...y-you’re here”
Your boyfriend was happy to have you here next to him, but considering the situation you guys were in, it would’ve been better for you to completly stay out of this fight. So he sat up and held onto your hand, determined to get you out of here.
“(Y/N) you need to go and call for reinforcements. I’ll be helping Midoriya out while you-“
“No Sasaki. I may have healed your wound, but you still need to rest so stay and I’ll help Deku out...got that?“
Nighteye looked up at you and saw your eyes glistening with something else than determination, he trusted you but he had a feeling that you had an entirely different plan than the one you had just suggested.
You saw how hesitant your boyfriend was to answer and you felt like the more time he used to think about it, the quicker he might catch onto your plan and that mustn’t happen.
Sasaki was surprised to see you get on your knees in front of him and holding onto his hands, your actions began to scare him a little.
“Do you trust me?“
His eyes visibly widened after hearing your question, the fear he had earlier slowly began consuming him. Nighteye wanted to nod, but he feared what you might do next if he said ‘yes’. That’s when he came up with an idea.
What if I used my quirk on (Y/N)...?
Luckily you had never been against it before, so he wasn’t as afraid as he thought he’d be to read your future but desperate times call for desperate measures.
He began concentrating and calming down his nerves so that he could calmly look into your eyes and see what your plan looked like...but you were quicker.
You slowly raised your hand, softly moved his glasses away and covered his eyes causing him to flinch lightly.
“Please don’t...not yet. Just trust me Sasaki.”
Before he could answer you kissed his lips ever so gently and soon you felt him kissing you back. After a short while you got up slowly and smiled at your boyfriend as you turned your back to him and began walking towards Midoriya and Overhaul.
——
What did she just say...?
Sacrifice herself...for Eri’s sake....?
What do you think you’re doing?
Don’t leave me behind like this...you mustn’t..
No..don’t look at Midoriya like that...not with that smile of yours.
S-Stop don’t...don’t turn to me
Don’t give me that look...
Heh, you were always bad at hiding your true feelings.
If you feel bad then don’t leave.
Why did you even come up with such a dangerous plan anyway?
Do you have any idea what he’ll do to you?
Midoriya, let go of me! Don’t intervene!
I’m going to stop you or did you seriously think that I was going to let you off the hook, just like that...?
(Y/N) think this through, please! He’ll tire out your body on purpose and who knows whose life he might ruin next with the help of your quirk!
He might even decide to target me next..
D-Don’t cry, please...
I know you want to protect us, but your decision is way to hasty so-
Hey! Get your dirty hands off of her!
No..!
(Y/N)!!!
I woke up teary eyed and completely drenched in sweat.
That dream again...damn it.
How many times does this make already?
Since Overhaul took (Y/N) away from me there wasn’t even one night on which I haven’t dreamed about that one moment.
The mission was considered a success in the end, but not for me...
Since I had seen All Might’s Future back then, I was afraid to look into anyone else's....but now?
After I’ve lost my most precious person...this is something I am going to regret not doing for the rest of my life.
I mean...what else can I do?

Fatgum:
Tumblr media
Your fist collided with a villain’s cheek.
How many does that make now?
To put it frankly, you just don’t know anymore...
These past few minutes you were running around beating up villains left and right, thanks to the order you had received to support any hero you came across and help them save Eri.
You knew that the girl should be your top priority at the moment, but you couldn’t deny the fact that the worry for your boyfriend Taishiro (also known as Fatgum) was way bigger than that for the girl.
“(Y/N)? Is that you?!”
Your boyfriend’s voice suddenly called out to you from one of the rooms, startling and making you stop in your tracks.
“Taishiro!“
Seeing him in his skinny form was something you weren’t used to since it only occurred when he used up too much of his power.
You looked around in order to catch a glimpse of his momentary situation. Him and Red Riot were fighting against two peculiar looking man whose appearance was clearly different than that of the other evil guys, they looked....stronger.
“Listen, you need to go and help with the fight against Overhaul!”
At your boyfriend’s sudden order your eyes went wide.
“W-What? You can’t be serious...I can’t leave the two of you alone! Look at yourself...you and Kirishima are badly hurt, so-”
“(Y/N)! This is not the time for worry, we’re on a mission right now. Concentrate on the important things!”
It surprised you to hear him sound that cold and it hurt your feelings a little, but you decided to suck it up. You had to admit that you were quite the worrywart when it came to your boyfriend and that was sometimes inappropriate...like right now.
With a small but hesitant nod you exited the room and once again began running at full speed, but now you at least had a clear goal in mind.
——
“Don’t worry Kirishima. You did an amazing job and deserve some rest.“
After fighting two members of the Eight Bullets and winning against them, Fatgum needed to take a breather and think about what to do from now on. So alongside his enemies, he went to the aid room and began taking care of his disciple while his thoughts wandered back to you.
He wondered if the things he said were perhaps to harsh and thinking about the possibility of having hurt you with his words, only made his heart drop.
If there had been another hero by his side right now, he wouldn’t have hesitated to run and look for you, but right now all he could do was wait...
——
After what felt like hours reinforcements had finally arrived and happily delivered the message of the mission’s success. Everyone was in good spirits and felt relieved and now, all Taishiro wanted to do was wrap his arms around you and kiss you all over.
So when he saw Sir Nighteye, Aizawa and Midoriya standing together while talking to an injured Mirio he just knew that you had to be somewhere close to them as well...so he began jogging in their direction, completely ignoring the pain throughout his body.
But he soon noticed that something wasn’t right...
When the trio saw him approaching, their facial expressions suddenly changed. Now they looked somewhat sad.
“Hey you guys! Have you seen (Y/N)? As far as I remember she should’ve been with you.”
“Well yes...she was”
Nighteye was the first to speak up. He took a quick glance at his surroundings and took a deep breath.
“In order to protect us and Eri, (Y/N)....went with Overhaul.”
After processing what the man with the glasses had said, Taishiro felt like he had been run over by a giant truck.
W-What did he just say...?
“W-Wait...you mean to tell me that you guys just stood by and let her sacrifice herself just like that?“
It was Aizawa’s turn to talk now so he stepped forward.
“There wasn’t anything we could do, we tried to talk her out of it, but she kept on insisting.“
“I don’t care if (Y/N) did! The two of you are pro heroes damn it, you could’ve sto-, no...you should’ve stopped her even if she resisted!“
They continued arguing back and forth, getting more heated with each passing minute. Mirio and Midoriya didn’t know if they should or even could do anything to stop them at this point, so they remained silent.
Suddenly Fatgum felt a gentle tug on his shorts which caused him to pause his argument and look down.
He found himself looking into a pair of big red eyes which belonged to none other than Eri, who was holding out a small pendant to him.
“The nice Miss that saved me, told me to give this to a big, cuddly looking and yellow dressed man...I think she might’ve meant you.“
A little reluctant he took it from her small hands and looked at it.
He gasped as he realized what kind of pendant that was.
“(Y/N)...“
Seeing the muscular man fall to his knees and gently caress the small object in his big hand was surprising and heartbreaking at the same time.
Between his silent sobs, he softly pet Eri’s head and thanked her several times.
The pendant he now held close to his heart was the first present he had given you. It had your and his name engraved on the outside and on the inside there was a small photo of the two of you cuddling.
When you received it, he made you promise him to always carry it with you...until the end of your days.
