the thing with mike's character is that it doesnt matter he is gay/bi in the audience's eyes bc he will be hated on regardless. he is already hated when he is ''straight'' and the ppl who like him are mlvn shippers whom will turn on him once it gets revealed that mike isnt straight and ends up with will. and the reveal wont actually make the audience like mike's character, he actually will be hate on more. on top of that he will be hated based on homophobia + mlvns who will hate him + the audience who will hate him even tho they 'understand' it + bylers who may potentially hate on / dislike / be disappointed with him if mike is revealed as *something* that doesnt quite match their interpretations. so it's just rather playing a losing game with his character and ofc, ''the audience's opinions aint matter'' vice versa, but it kinda.... does? bc isnt the aim here also to make your audience like your only main gay couple and characters. like imagine pulling a 'revolutionary' thing but then the majority of your audience (even the queer fans or bylers) dont really like it bc of how you approached it and the half of your ship is hated on even without the homophobia already.
i don't know any byler that'll hate him if he turns out to not be gay or bi or whatever they want him to be exactly like i know if he's revealed as *something* that doesn't quite match my interpretation i'll be like well MY version of the story was better but okay duffer brothers... you think you're better writers than me... i just don't see even the most convinced gay mike truther suddenly HATING on mike if they tell us he's bi in season 5 yk like. that's just not happening. but i mean... i don't think everyone will grow to love mike and i don't even think everyone will love byler or anything but they're pretty good at getting people to root for ships (not sure about jncy post-s4. sorry i don't know why i said that) and even if people hated it it would still be revolutionary😭 but it's not like everyone is gonna hate them i'm really not worried at all. don't get me wrong we'll definitely see people complain about the gay agenda and about mike suddenly being gay and about how that was the worst thing the duffers could have possibly done the same way mlvns do now but idk it doesn't really worry me

I will not be moved|Top Wilson/Bottom House Songfic|Dagames| 1/1| I regret my existence
+I will not be moved+
Tumblr media
Suggestive--- Suggestive----Suggestive----Suggestive (Sorry Dagames, Robert Sean Leonard, and Hugh Laurie)
Wilson's brown eyes looked at House with an internal rage, how dare he! Breaking him up with Sam because he didn't have the audacity to tell Wilson his own vain feelings.
+In a world I created, there's a born new place+
Wilson created, this monstrosity of a relationship, for what reason?
+A terror far beyond the thoughts that you all thought you knew+
To torture himself? To break himself? Why would he give himself a crippled man to try to fix? +Now you arrive in a universe created in a dark humanity+
He should've known House would've done something like this, walking naked and all this, spilling milk on Sam. +Now break the fourth wall!+
House was scared out of his life, for the first time, Wilson holding his tie with a sneer of anger on his face.
+I developed a story that was written in the Finest art, with noble heart, but what you did was Kill the creator and behold a dark matter+
Wilson smiles and his eyes flare "You've been very naughty House" House limps back into the wall. "Wilson?" his voice breaks +Now the fourth wall breaks behind the path you take+
Wilson grabs the chair closest to him and places it in front of him
+Cause now, I greet you with terror You got what you wanted, just by taking my Hard work broken heart+
House gulped as Wilson said "Sit Down" +Now the tables have turned, your lesson will be learned+
"Wilson, let's not-" Wilson clearly didn't want to hear House cause he gagged him with the red tie in his hand. House's eyes went wide with fear as Wilson put him into the chair.
+I'd say you completed your goals But you are far from done+
House realized his arms were tied to the chair along with his legs.
+I will not be moved Let it go, just let it go+
House shivered as the black tie covered his eyes. "Very bad" Wilson muttered +I will save my golden Passage carved into the grave+
All of sudden House felt the cold liquid go over his body and shivered. +You thought all too well Just to get your fill, but where's the thrill+
The chill from the cold water caught House's unclothed body like cold flames, he gave out a shrill whimper. +In binding my heart in chains I will not be moved+
Wilson only grunted in House's acknowledgment. "What is it House?" House shivered, it couldn't have been the milk, no he had poured it all on Sam, "W-water?" He said once he realized the red tie was out of his mouth.
+So you thought you were finished, but you're far from done+
"Correct" House whined in cold pain. Then he yelped as something coarse and soft touched his neck "Quite correct," Wilson nodded of course House couldn't have seen it.
+There's still a lot you haven't opened your eyes to learn+
"What's this now-" House interrupted with "F-feather duster?" Wilson hoped House would have gotten it wrong "Correct," He muttered pulling off the black one so House could see and feel ashamed.
+Take your cute little friends and reveal all the dark insanities Now break the fourth wall+
"Look at you, so stiff from the unknown" Wilson said holding the feather duster, it had white feathers and a blue shaft. "Wonder what you'd think of this hmm, continue answering my questions and I'll take one of the ties off for everyone, then I'll give you a reward." He whispers in House's ears.
+Soon your demise will be clearer than day With the bytes you earn, defenses burn you up alive+
Wilson grabs a box and stares at House's fear-laced eyes "I won't hurt you, I promise." House whines and swallows. Wilson shakes the box and smiles as he pulls out a bottle of Vicodin opens it and puts two pills into House's mouth. "See? I'm not going to hurt you House."
+Now the wall gives way for a path that'll Take you down, take the crown and thrive+
Then he grabs another box and smiles as he shakes it, a metal clink is heard from inside. " Sounds familiar?" He asks so softly it's scary.
+So beware of all your worst enemies Read these words that I heed to you+
"M-My keys?" House asks "Yes sweetheart" One tie off his right leg +Your infantile child minds will never See the light again+
+We knew this wasn't going to end well, (hah) Well, let's end this now+
House swallowed as Wilson grabbed his shaft and stroked teasingly. "I sorry" House whined as Wilson took his hand off. "Naughty boys need punishment.
+I will not be moved Let it go, just let it go+
No House's whines wouldn't change Wilson and what he wanted to do to House. +I will save my golden Passage carved into the grave+
House brought this on himself, Wilson grabbed his phone "What's my password?" House's eyes went wide as he clearly was afraid "I-I 61159?" Wilson gasped with surprise "Correct baby" His password was House's birthday ((It's also Hugh Lauries birthday))
+You thought all too well Just to get your fill, but where's the thrill+
House looked as Wilson took the other tie on his left leg now. "Don't kick and you'll get your reward soon baby" House nods and keeps his legs still. A stroke to his shaft, a gasp from him, and a sad whimper when Wilson moved his hand again.
+In binding my heart in chains I will not be moved+
"You are doing so well," Wilson grabs three tennis balls and a scale "You have two tries to figure out which is the heaviest House" House looks down... and then says "Blue and Green on the scale" He murmured Wilson did exactly that "One more try"
+Do you think this world is a safe haven?+
The red one, House thought "The red one?" Wilson's smile was gentle as he pulled off the tie from House's wounded leg. +Look closer, you'll find it Three floors down and you'll disappear+ +Blessed be the storyteller's revenge!+ +Hahahahaha!+ +Yeah!+
(Imagine the rest kay I'm not doing more)

i keep imagining a fanfiction ending to this. you approach me, and tell me you've missed me so much. that i wasn't alone in my feelings of ache and longing. that you've still loved me romantically this whole time. you want me again, you want to hold me and tell me how much i mean to you. but i know this isn't likely. you've got a different and definitely healthier approach to romance.
it's this thing again, where it's both comparing myself to you, but also knowing that my mental illnesses make me terrible about this stuff. which is why im afraid of myself really. i can't let too much be seen, i don't want to drive you away with how i am. you're already not really one for romance, and im someone who's obsessed with it to the point of tearing myself apart; i can't let my bad side show. you're too good for it, it's not that i think you're fragile, you're such a strong person. i think of myself as broken on one side, and i have to keep the angle of being whole so i can keep you from cutting yourself on the shards.
i know you can't fix me, but sometimes i worry that nothing can fix me. there's no cure to what i have. i just have to be quiet about it. if i can hide the worst parts of it for the rest of my life, i'll be fine. i know i can't hide everything, but i can hide what matters. is it wrong of me to think this way? is this manipulation? i can't tell what's a good tactic for dealing with this and what's something that'll make you hate me. im sorry

Hey :) i really like your writing! If your requests are open and you feel comfortable with this (otherwise just delete this), could I ask for a Spencer x reader where the relationship is new and he's worried about being intimate bc what if he hurts her or does something she doesn't like (he's seen too much in his job) and reader reassuring him?
One second Spencer's hands were dipping between your thighs, fingers prying at your soft, pliant flesh, and the next he was halfway across the room, the same fingers now tangled in his hair.
"Spencer," You mumbled, mouth still slick with the after effects of the kiss you'd been sharing, "What is it?"
He turned to face you, eyes gleaming with anguish that replaced their previously burning lustful flame, "I can't do this."
"I- It's okay!" You floundered, backing yourself up against the headboard, "It's okay, we don't have to. If you're not ready-"
"No, that's," Spencer paused, the words in his brain racing far too fast to coherently come out of his mouth, "That's not why. I'm ready, I just- I can't." He leaned back against the wall behind him, hands slowly dropping from his hair to rest against his thighs. His shoulders slouched, a defeated air around him as he tipped his head back to meet the wall.
"I don't know what that means.." You began, voice hesitant as your brows furrowed, "Do you think you can explain it?"
"Listen," His voice was shaky, "I.. I see the worst of the worst."
There was something disconcerting about your boyfriend connecting sex with you to his job psychoanalyzing serial killers, but you let him continue.
"I've seen what happens when- when people get carried away, or- or they do something that their partner doesn't like, and I would never want anything to happen-"
"Wait, wait, Spencer," You leaned forwards, your frown only deepening as his sentence sputtered to a stop, "You don't think you're going to hurt me, do you?"
"I don't know," His voice wavered, barely above a whisper, "I don't know! But if I risk it and-"
"There's no risk, Spencer." You leaned back against the headboard again, tension leaking from your frame, "Listen, I know you. You'd never go too far. And if you did, I'd tell you, and you'd stop."
"I just... I really want this to work," He mumbled, blinking away tears that clouded his vision, "You're important to me."
"You're important to me too," You let the last bit of tension slip from your chest, the feeling no longer squeezing at your lungs, "And that's why it's important that you know that I trust you."
"I just don't know if I trust me," He rubbed angrily at the tears that trickled down his cheeks, avoiding your eye contact while he did so.
"Why don't we set up a safe word?" You suggested, eyes tracking Spencer's when they flitted up to meet your gaze curiously, "That way you'll know for sure if something is wrong."
"What word? It has to be something we wouldn't say during sex, like, ever."
"How about bumblebee?" The word bounced off of your lips, dragging Spencer's brows down as he frowned.
"What are you gonna say if there's a bee in the room?"
A grin broke out over your features, "I'll call it a wasp."
Spencer finally started back towards the bed at your smile, one of his own slowly washing over his face and smoothing out the worry that had been etched there.
"That'll be so confusing. They're very different, y'know. Bees and wasps. Even just based on looks alone, ignoring all behavioral patterns, wasps are more-"
"Spencer," You let out a breathy laugh, "Can we maybe talk about the fundamental differences between bees and wasps after we have sex? There's a lot of different ways to do foreplay, but I don't think this is one of them."
"Right," He blinked dazedly at you, eyes flitting down to your lips that were curved in an adoring smile, "Right, I'll tell you after."

tragic backstory (tm) au) cin-cin has ruby yang and pyrrha out to lunch today so a bored jaune is meandering through the school looking for something to do when he stumbles across blake talkign to someone. turns out it's her mother and father and jaune actually makes a really good impression on them.
kali: "so blake, how did you meet your new boyfriend?"
ghirha: "you made a good choice this time, far better than that adam"
blake: "we're not dating."
kali and ghirha together: "we'll no time like the present to fix that"
Partly Clouder
The White Fang were not always so violent. There was a time when peace was not only their preferred method, but their only method. They believed in equality without hostility. But at some point, a member grew tired of peace and sought violence instead. Were they wrong to think so, or merely misguided?
Jaune: And you're sure you'll be okay?
Cin-Cin: (Nods) I'll be fine! I have my new big sisters to help me!
Yang: R-Right... Sisters...
Ruby: Where are we going?
Cin-Cin: I wanna go to a bookstore! I heard from Becky Becker that the new playrites are in stock!
Pyrrha: Then that'll be our first stop. Are you ready, Nora?
Nora: Just a second. (Swigs back a bottle of soda, Downs in one go) Alright, let's- (Belches) go.
Cin-Cin: (Giggles)
Weiss: (Rolls her eyes)
Jaune: Have fun! (They leave) Are you sure you don't want to come, Ren?
Ren: I will be fine on my own. There is much I wish to do while Nora is out.
Jaune: Okay. (Looks to Blake and Weiss) Uh, I guess I'm ready to meet your parents, huh?
Blake: Don't say it like that.
Weiss: Especially when you've already met mine.
Ren: (They leave) ...Finally. (Strips naked) Ah... One with the universe.
Blake: I don't think this is a good idea, Jaune.
Jaune: I heard you, Blake.
Weiss: Did you hear how I know it isn't?
Jaune: I did.
Weiss: I just wanted to be sure, considering you're ignoring my advice.
Jaune: I know it's not the best idea.
Weiss: The worst.
Blake: Without question.
Jaune: BUT... It's something I want to try. After all, when was the last time a Schnee and a Belladonna met before Beacon?
Blake: I'm pretty sure during the Faunus Wars.
Jaune: Great! This will be a good time to bury the hatchet!
Weiss: Preferably in no one's back.
Sienna: Thank you again for escorting me to this meeting, Ghira. I know our last... interaction wasn't on the best of terms.
Ghira: Water under the bridge. Besides, it wasn't you I was angriest with. It was Adam.
Sienna: Who is now in prison, thanks to our guest at this meeting.
Kali: I'm so excited. I get to meet with celebrity and see our baby in person! Do you think they're engaged?
Ghira: Kali, calm down.
Sienna: Don't bother, Ghira. Ca- I mean, Kali was never one for being subtle about love. Especially if it's one of her own.
Kali: Can you blame me? Years of her life wasted with that brute, Adam, and now she's with someone who actually cares about human/Faunus equality. The only thing that would make him better is if he loved fish.
Ghira: Oh, Brothers...
Jacques: Must you escort me, James? I have plenty of guards ready, willing, and able to defend me at a moment's notice.
Ironwood: Yes, but they're also loyal to you, which means they'll shoot anyone you tell them to.
Jacques: Do you really think so little of me, James?
Ironwood: It's not a matter of thinking little; it's a matter of preventing the worst outcome. Not to mention that this is the perfect opportunity to learn more about Arc. His tactical mind would be vital to Atlas, if only we could have him transfer schools. He may be an early graduate.
Jacques: Like yourself?
Ironwood: And your daughter.
Jacques: Yes, and one of two, while the other is escorting Arc as we speak.
Ironwood: Are you proud of her?
Jacques: That she developed close ties with Arc? Of course. Nothing makes me more proud than the early networking my children conduct. Who knows, our mysterious hero may become Jaune Arc-Schnee!
Jaune: ...I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this.
Blake: Really? You weren't expecting a screaming match between the High Leader of the White Fang, the Menagerie Chieftain, the CEO of the SDC, and the General of the Atlas military and Headmaster of said Academy?
Jaune: No, I was. I just wasn't expecting... this kind of shouting.
Jacques: I will be the one to apologize first! My grievances are far more severe than yours, mongrel.
Sienna: No, I will apologize to him first! The blood of every soul fallen or injured in Atlas is my responsibility, you greedy war-monger!
Ironwood: He should attend Atlas! His brilliant mind could benefit our military and serve to guide us into a new age of tactical enlightenment.
Ghira: He should come to Menagerie! He should see the Faunus plight firsthand, so that he may lead with a better understanding of Faunus suffering!
Weiss: I'm just glad they haven't focused on us yet. That would be embarrassing.
Kali: Yes, it would, Miss Schnee.
Weiss: Aah! Where did you come from?!
Kali: I slipped under the table while my husband was distracted. You must be Weiss. My daughter told me all about you.
Weiss: Daughter? You mean...
Kali: Blake, yes. She's told me so much about how you've changed her perspective, and how perhaps not all humans are beyond hope.
Weiss: Oh, that's... very flattering?
Kali: And you must be Jaune. My, you're more handsome than the videos show you to be.
Jaune: (Blushing) Um...
Blake: Mom! Stop!
Kali: Oh, you know I'm only teasing, Kitten. I've always had a soft spot for blond boys. Especially after that one from so long ago. If you were younger, you would be the spitting image of him.
Kali: But that was so long ago. Almost twenty years, in fact. I was a different woman. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by how Blake's story went. After all, she's just like her mother.
Blake: (Blushing) Mom...
Kali: (Sighs) Please, take good care of my daughter, both of you. She's my most precious treasure.
Weiss: Hmph! As if you could expect anything less from Weiss Schnee.
Kali: From a Schnee, I expect nothing. But you aren't just a Schnee. You're a Schnee I haven't seen in so long. And you, Jaune, are an entirely unique person altogether. But I can't help but feel like I've seen you before. I don't know why, but I feel like I can trust you. (Giggles) It must be the blond hair.
Jaune: I'd like to help you, but I can't even control a meeting.
Kali: That's because you aren't using your resources, dear. I can stop half of the table, but you have to use your own to stop the other half. Do you understand?
Jaune: ...I think I do.
Kali: Good. Now, follow my lead. (Paws the air, Smashes her fist down) HEY! KAHN! GHIRA! SHUT UP AND LISTEN!
Ghira: (Stiffens)
Sienna: (Flinches)
Kali: Now it's your turn, Jaune.
Jaune: (Nods)
Jacques: Are you actually going to surrender because a guest told you to heel? You really are beasts!
Weiss: Oh, Father? (Jacques looks at her, She's on her scroll) Forgive me, but I can't remember. How many Js are in "bigot"?
Jacques: (Grunts)
Blake: And General, perhaps Professor Ozpin would like to hear how you intend to weaponize one of his students.
Ironwood: That's not what I- (Clears his throat, Sits down)
Jaune: How was that?
Kali: (Claps her hands) Perfect! And you did it in your own way! (Giggles) I haven't had to use "that" voice in so long. Now, shall we begin our meeting properly now?
Jaune: Yeah, we should. Oh, and Blake? Weiss? Thanks again for your help. I couldn't have done it without you guys here.
Weiss: That's clearly the case.
Blake: As is us standing by to help you.
Jaune: Right. Now, as for why I brought you all here.
Kali: Pick up the pace, dear! We don't want to miss our flight!
Ghira: On my way, darling.
Kali: (Sighs) To think my baby girl would grow so much in so short of time. It just reminds me of the last time in happened.
Ghira: I don't blame you, dear. None of us do. We were just glad to have you back.
Kali: Yes, but two years, Ghira. Two years of my daughter's life I'll never get back because of my selfishness.
Ghira: You were young, and your family needed you. If two had to be set aside for everyone else, it was understandable.
Kali: But not forgivable.
Ghira: Do you miss it?
Kali: (Looks to the blue sky, Clouds roll by lazily) Sometimes... (Thinking) Now I remember that boy.
Sienna: Captain! Enemy vessel escaped! Shall we pursue?
Thug: Nah! We shouldn't! Those punks won't be back; not after how we humiliated them!
Sienna: I was talking to the Captain, Roll! Captain, we have everything from their cargo hold. Shall we split it amongst the crew?
Captain: We'll sell it. Spoils from a thief's ship get more complicated the more it's stolen, to say nothing of a Sky Pirate's.
Punk: And who would steal from the Sky Pirate Queen? (Crew laughs)
Sienna: The box just moved! (Everyone freezes, Captain approaches) C-Captain! Be careful! It might be trapped.
Captain: (Opens the chest) Oho? A pair of sapphires under a cap of gold? (Picks up shivering boy, Shushes) It's okay, I won't hurt you.
Cabin Boy: It's a kid!
Kali: Can you talk? No? That's okay. My name is Captain Belladonna, Queen of the Sky Pirates. (Smiles sweetly) But you can call me, "Kali."

Momento r/trueoffmychest but sometimes I feel like there's no future in Brazil. I want to be a writer but there's like 2 Brazilian writers who are even slightly famous outside and I've heard that here we only get 10% of the book's profit, which is frankly absurd. I love this country and I love my city and I don't think I could ever call anywhere else home and I really want to go to college for free because I think I can and USP has been my dream university since I was in 6th grade but I have absolutely no perspective of future here. My family even has Portuguese citizenship in case thinks go south and we have to leave. And then I look at what the future looks like outside and I know I'll have to deal with sexism that'll be even worse because they see Brazilian women as whores and possibly xenophobia which is totally insane for me because I'm white but the moment I say something all everyone will hear is a heavy Latino accent that I actually don't want to lose and on top of that there will be the usual homophobia since I'm a lesbian and it'll be really tiring. To top that, the only places where I can be a successful writer seem to be USA and England and even though I absolutely hate USA it is still in America and I kinda dislike England even more (many cases of racism against Brazilians, heard it's hard for a Latino to get a job). And if I go to USA, I'll have to deal with low minimum wage and rent that is impossible to pay and the fear of guns and I'll probably will end up in New York as a writer and it may be a place I really wanna visit but it does seem like an awful place to live unless you're loaded and I also kinda don't want to ever be homeless but it seems like an obligatory experience if you live in USA. So I have to ask. How do you do it? How can a Brazilian who wants more find a place in the world? I'm white and my parents went to college and have enough money to send me to a private high school and this was supposed to make all the doors open for me but really? I can only see the closed ones. And I know I shouldn't complain because it would be 100000% harder if I was black and poor but honestly right now I'm kinda hopeless. If I could choose what country to be born in, I would always choose Brazil, but I feel like being a Brazilian keeps me from being someone.
Shit girl, I get you. It was one of my earliest dreams to be a writer, too. And this might not be super motivational, but I haven't made it, lol but like i'm 24 so no big deal about it either. I mean, I still write my stories every now and then, but being a writer does take a LOT of effort and energy and especially at the times when I hit depressive episodes it was hard to put in all that effort. Luckly for myself I've been granted a head that is happy doing lot's of different stuff, so I've changed paths without it taking a big toll on me and decided to go into the movie/tv bussiness. First I was about to try scriptwriting but I learned scriptwriting takes a fuckton of techinique to learn and I'm not good at it (yet). So i'm more into production and other media areas (and it might be a bitch but there's always social media work around even if it sucks). And I mean, the movie/tv bussiness is also shitty and has huge amounts of competition AND is better in countries I dislike too, but in my head it felt "safer" cause it offers "secondary" jobs that will always be there. But like, that was what I thought at 17. Now I know that every profession has these jobs, you know, not the "dream" jobs, but the decent jobs around the area. So first thing I'd do if I were you would be to do some research in related areas. Like, I don't know, working on magazines as an editor, or journalism, or text review, or even social media work in the writing area (plenty of blogs and SEO to adjust out there), or publicity writing (someone is always hired just to write slogans and texts for billbords, you know), or even scriptwriting as I tried. It's not that you HAVE to follow any of these, but knowing that you could fall back upon any of these professions or work them part time while trying to write your books might give you some peace of mind to give it a try. Second thing I would do is to do more research on brazilian writers, because there are plenty. Yeah, not all of them are Paulo Coelho, but you don't have to be to be able to make a reasonable living or even to keep writing as a part time profession. Find those authors, follow them on social media, ask questions!! Most love to answer when they have time. But what I won't tell you to do is to stop writing, cause if there's one thing I know is that the only way to get better at writing (and ergo have more chances of succeeding) is to keep writing. And look, i'm not telling you this is by any means an easy field, or a regular job, and it's 100% okay to give up if you prioritize these things in life (i'm serious, mental health and peace of mind come first and there's NOTHING wrong with picking a profession that allows for these if that's the case), but what I know about most people that have an undeniable passion for doing something creative and pick something else without being really sure about it is that they always regret it. Most keep getting sucked back to it or end up miserable because they really wanted to be doing something else. So if it's your only dream, you passion for life, girl, you're super young. Your parents can give you a small headstart for a few years (aka you don't have to worry about getting any job in any field just to get by for now). So give it a try. Search the field. Try to put something together. Worst case scenario, you still learned something. It'll land you somewhere. Might even be a good place :)

The Road to Love and Truth (Blackhill)
Rating: Teen and up
Words: 2827
Chapter: 2/2
Fandoms: Marvel
Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Maria Hill, Steve Rogers, Nick Fury
Additional tags: -
Summary: Maria struggles after her night with Natasha. She gets some good advice from Steve.
Authors note: Blackhill Bingo square I3 "Steve Rogers"
Story below the cut or in AO3 here
Maria still has a huge headache. She's been debating taking another aspirin to ease it down for the past 10 minutes, but it hasn't been too long since she took the first one and it might just not be working yet. The situation with Romanoff might not be helping either.
Without thinking she's making her way towards Phil's office. She's not sure why, she knows she won't talk about something like this to him. He's a good friend but she just can't talk about her sex life with him, less about feelings. Maybe he'll have some work she can do to distract her from the night before. She can't use her key card on a day off, (Fury has made it very clear she's not supposed to be doing work during any type of leave) so she can't go to her own office to continue work.
Phil isn't in his office. Now that she actually thinks about it, he has been on a mission since yesterday. She still needs something to distract her though. Maybe Fury would let it slide this once if she'd go do work, but she'd rather not see him right now. She decides to just go for a walk. Hopefully that'll clear her head a little.
------
The fresh air does help her headache and clears her head just the tiniest bit as well. She stands outside of the Triskelion for a short time and decides to go for a short walk along the river.
She keeps her eyes mostly on the water as she walks hands in the pockets of her sweats. She probably should've changed if she's honest, but she didn't want to go back to her room. SHIELD agents weren't that rare sight around these parts, but they definitely didn't go out in their gym clothes. She kicks around some pebbles every once in a while that are lying around the sidewalk.
She loses track of time, trying to just focus on nothing but the movement of the water. And she might have let her guard down, because she gets startled, when a hand taps her on the shoulder.
"Maria, what are you doing out here?"
"Jesus, Steve. Warn a girl next time."
"I literally yelled your name when I saw you. You're not usually this distracted. Are you okay?"
There's concern on his face and Maria doesn't like it one bit. She's fine, and even if she wasn't, everyone else needs to think she is.
"Everything's fine," she lies.
Steve gives her a long look, not quite believing her.
"You can always talk to me, you know? Whatever it is that's bothering you, I'll listen."
Damn Steve, and his kind heart.
"I know," she says.
"Okay, well I'm gonna finish my run. Come and find me if you want to talk about whatever this is," he says as he runs past her.
Maria just waves him off. She continues along the river for a while longer until her headache becomes worse again. Deciding it's best to just go back and take another aspirin, she turns around and heads towards the Triskelion again.
------
Eventually Maria realises she needs to talk to someone so she heads towards Steve's quarters and knocks on his door. He opens the door with a smile. They're good friends but it's quite rare she actually ends up on his doorstep.
"Hey, Maria. What's up?"
"I slept with Natasha," she answers as she pushes past him into his room. She sits on his bed, head in her hands. She hears the door click shut as Steve closes it.
"Not what I was expecting. How are you feeling?"
Maria groans at the question, "I don't know. I find out she's queer and few days later I find her in my bed. That's not how that should go. And worst of all I want to do it again, but I don't think I can just keep it at that."
"So you want to ask her out?"
"I think so?" She says and lays down on the bed so she can stare at the ceiling. "But I'm her superior, it's unprofessional, not to mention way too complicated. How am I supposed to be able to send her out there, if I'm worried if she'll make it back? How is Fury supposed to trust in me, if I get compromised because of her? Or what if I make the wrong decision, because I can't--" Steve cuts her off. She feels the bed dip, as he sits next to her on the bed and places a hand on her knee.
"Maria, you're forgetting one important thing, she's the Black Widow, she knows how to handle herself. Do you know how many times she's saved me out there? Because I've lost count by now. And Fury won't see you any differently if you start showing normal people emotions. Also stop worrying about 'what if's. Those are situations you can't know the answers for before it's too late. And for the record, I think you're already compromised. You care more about her than you know. Have for a long time."
"Fuck", Maria breaths the word out.
"Language."
"No, I actually fucked up."
"What did you do?"
"I just left her. She wanted to talk, and I just left her. I wasn't thinking clearly. I told her it was a mistake. Well it technically was because that was definitely not how I wanted that to go, but… I let her believe I don't want her. Shit!" She gets up quickly and starts pacing around. "I gotta go find her. Tell her that I'm sorry for how I treated her. That last night was great. Not that I really remember anything. To hopefully ask her properly out." She freezes on her tracks and turns to face Steve. "What if she says no? How am I supposed to continue working with her then?"
"Maria", Steve warns her.
"Right, won't know the answers before it's too late." She takes a deep breath. "Okay, I'm gonna go to find her. I wonder where she could be."
"At the gym with Barton."
"How would you know that?"
"Just a hunch."
------
She does find Natasha at the gym. She's beating up Barton at the mats. Maria decides to just stay by the door and watch, she'll notice her eventually. Natasha seems more tense than normal, maybe even a little angry. She doesn't move around as smoothly as she usually does. Her movements are a little more jacked, more forced. Maria realises that she's not fighting with a clear head. She's trying to push her feelings out. Maria was the reason the Widow's usually flawlessly smooth fighting style looked harsh and broken. It makes her heart twinge.
Eventually Natasha pins Barton down and he taps out. She gets up and her gaze shifts to Maria's. Maria physically flinches under her gaze. She quickly straightens her back and neutralises her face, when Barton gets back onto his feet and notices her presence.
"Commander," he coughs, eyes moving from Maria to Natasha and back again. After a couple of beats of silence he starts backing towards the men's locker room. "I'll just go then."
Maria just looks at Natasha, not really sure what she's supposed to say. Before she's able to say anything, Natasha turns on her heels and heads towards the women's locker rooms. That gets Maria on the move as well. She runs after Natasha and grabs her from the upper arm.
"Natasha wait," Maria says and Natasha stops on her tracks. "I'm sorry about earlier. Can we talk?"
Natasha turns around and Maria tries to look as apologetic as she can. Natasha just stares at her for a while.
"Fine. My quarters in 10."
Maria nods and drops her hold of the other woman. She didn't even realise she had still been holding her upper arm. Natasha eyes her quickly once more before she turns around again and heads out of sight to the locker room. Maria just stands still for a while, looking after her, until she spins around as well and heads out of the gym and towards Natasha's quarters.
------
Natasha is punctual as ever, and appears exactly 10 minutes later. Maria follows her silently into her room. Natasha sits down on her bed, one leg under herself while the other hangs off the edge. Maria is reminded of the morning. She stays standing near the door, but is faced towards Natasha. She's trying to figure out her words, even though she's been trying to figure out what to say ever since she walked out of Steve's quarters.
"Well?" Natasha prompts her.
"I fucked up. I'm really sorry for how I treated you. I panicked and I fucked up. I try my best to keep my private life and work separate, and I mostly live at work so… I'm having a hard time, to put it lightly. I also have never done this before."
"What? Been with a woman?" Natasha asks with a serious tone. It takes Maria a beat to realise she's not actually seriously asking that.
"No, Romanoff. You know that's not what I meant. I mean sleeping with a co-worker. Actually kinda never slept with anyone without being on a date first. And especially never had someone in my bed in a SHIELD facility."
"So I was your first one night stand?"
"About that, I wouldn't mind doing it again."
"Was I that good?" Natasha asks with a smirk.
"Natasha! I'm not talking about the sex. I'm talking about all of it. Everything since the mission. Spending time together at that bar and during the mission and also everything that came after."
"Wow. Is Commander Hill getting soft?"
"No,” she says. Taking a breath she continues, “I'd just like to see if this could become something. You're one of the few people around here who I can stand, and I actually had a really nice time yesterday. And I'm not regretting what happened after, so that probably says a lot."
Natasha gives her a small smile.
"What changed?"
"What do you mean?"
"You left the room in such a hurry and now you're here saying you don't regret it."
"Yeah, that. I might've talked to Steve and he had some good advice."
"You went to Steve?" Natasha's voice sounds almost scandalous.
"Who else would I go to? Fury? Do you think I have many friends around here? People who I could talk to?"
"Fair enough."
"So, if I'd ask you out on a date what would you say?"
"I would love to, but do you really want to go on a date? Because I feel like we're not the dating kind of people."
That was actually fair, she did always hate going on dates.
"What do you suggest then?"
"How about this?" Maria is really unsure about how she should feel about the smirk that follows that one simple question.
Natasha gets up and walks towards Maria. She stops when their chests are basically touching. She grabs Maria's hands and wraps them around her waist. Then she wraps her own arms around Maria's neck and rises up on her toes to kiss her. Maria basically melts into it. Eventually she lifts Natasha up and they move on the bed. Natasha seems very impressed that Maria can lift her. Maria might be a bit hurt about that.
------
When they decide to leave for an early lunch (neither remembered to eat breakfast), they're barely 100 feet down the hallway from Natasha's room, when they're stopped by a junior agent.
"Commander, Agent Romanoff. Director Fury wants to speak to both of you."
Maria and Natasha exchange a look.
"Did he say what about?" Maria asks.
"Not really," the Agent answers but there's a look on his face Maria doesn't like. It's like he knows something he shouldn't.
Maria debates for a little bit, if she should push and get some answers from him but decides against it. She dismisses the agent and starts heading towards the Directors office with Natasha.
They get a couple weird looks and smiles on the way there. They walk the whole way in silence. Both clearly trying to figure out what Fury wants from them.
Fury sees them immediately, which tells Maria that it's something important. She's getting nervous. Natasha is here as well, so her mind goes only to a specific direction, but how would Fury know?
"Director Fury, you wanted to see us?" Maria greets him.
"Hill, Romanoff. Has either of you checked the news today or any social media?"
Natasha shakes her head. She's been awfully quiet after they ran into that agent.
"No, sir. I haven't checked my phone at all today. Pretty sure it's dead anyway. I've been a bit distracted," Maria answers truthfully. There's no point in lying.
"Well, you probably should stay out of social media for a little while but that's just a suggestion. Do you have anything else to report to me?" His eye shifts from Maria to Natasha and back.
He knows. Maria takes a deep breath. She feels Natasha's hand touch hers, a sign that it's okay.
"Yes, sir. We, uh... Natasha and I are involved."
"Will it be affecting your work?"
"No, sir."
"Then I'm happy for you," he says with the slightest hint of a smile.
Maria is surprised and she can sense that so is Natasha. She lets her posture get a little more relaxed.
"Now to the real reason I invited you in," Fury says as he pulls some tabloid articles up on the screen behind himself. They're all saying basically the same thing: Black Widow at a gay bar with a mystery woman . Some of them have clearly done a better job with trying to figure out who this "mystery woman" is because a couple of them have actual pictures of Maria along with her name. And there's pictures. Pictures of them kissing, the intense looks they changed during that night and pictures of them leaving together.
"We tried to get them down before they spread too far, but clearly we didn't manage that. Anything about the Avengers' personal life spreads like a fire. I'm sorry about the situation it puts you in."
Both of the women just nod. There wasn't anything to say. Fury takes this as his answer and turns off the screen.
"Well then, you're dismissed. Hill, if you could stay for just a little longer?"
Natasha squeezes her shoulder a little before she steps out of the room.
"Sir?"
"No reason to be that formal anymore. This is just me checking on you. How are you feeling?"
"Well, that's a lot, but I think I'm fine. It's not the way I wanted things to go, but I guess it's good that it's out. If we wish to go out, now we don't need to worry if someone sees us or not."
"Okay, still I wish the situation wasn't this. I strongly suggest that you don't check any social media for the next few days. I know you think you can handle it, but there's gonna be some bad stuff there and I'd prefer the dust settles a bit first. Also if anyone, and I mean anyone, in SHIELD gives either of you a hard time because of this, let me know. I will handle it. It's out there, so everyone knows. I wish you could've handled this on your own terms, but the situation is what it is."
Maria smiles at him.
"Thank you, Director. I know I said it won't affect my work, and I truly believe and hope so, but if it ever seems like I'm putting her before the mission; pull me out of it, if possible. I know I won't be happy about it, but I need to know that I won't be making mistakes because I'm compromised."
"Of course. But I have full belief that you'll do great even then."
Maria nods and heads towards the door but Fury's voice makes her turn around before she gets to open it.
"Also, before you go. I am truly happy for you, Maria."
Maria smiles at him and nods her thanks and joins Natasha on the other side of the door.
Natasha hugs her as she closes the door. Maria circles her arms around her and presses her cheek against Natasha's head.
"That went better than I expected." She hears Natasha mumble against her chest.
"It did," Maria agrees.
"I'm so sorry about the articles though. If I would've just realised--" Maria quiets her with a kiss.
"Natasha, there's nothing you could've done about it. The second we walked in there everyone was paying extra attention to us. Those articles would be there even if we hadn't kissed. I'm just glad we did. I don't think I would've ever dared to take this step otherwise," Maria says. She looks Natasha in the eye and they exchange smiles. "Now, how about that lunch?"

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Normal Yunho at first seems like your average guy. He's very sweet, caring, playful and his close, and very few, friends he has would say that he's full of energy and smiles.
He just radiates this sunshine personality that draws people to him, although they may not stay very long.
He met you through mutual friends and acted the same as he did with others.
Albeit it's true, he was very affectionate towards you from the start, which both surprised and didn't surprise his friends.
But that doesn't mean he felt love at first sight with you.
Yunho isn't one to get overly attached right away.....yet.
It happened gradually.
He became attracted to your confident, strong and bold nature, all traits which he lacked in.
But no one knows that because he's good at hiding it.
You were also a very compassionate and empathetic person, which sealed the deal for him.
He admired you from afar, not wanting to get close to you just yet.
However, he'd get pouty and insecure whenever another man would show intentions of wanting to get close to you.
He'd whine often about it and that's how you found out he had feelings for you.
You thought it was cute, that he was cute.
So you were the one who took the first step to start a relationship.
Although shocked, Yunho was extremely happy.
As a boyfriend, he is very devoted to you, putting you above everything else, including his friends, family and health.
Everything moves really fast with him. Example:you had your first kiss on your first date.
Yunho just doesn't see why you have to wait if you two love each other.
"I feel like I've known you my whole life."
Not even 3 months later and you were already sleeping together.
Yunho sees that was the moment he went to heaven......
And that was the moment when hell started.
Yunho started becoming more and more clingy.
Texting, calling you at odd hours, asking you things like where you were, what were you doing, who you were with and if he could go see you.
He usually makes you stay till very late at his place that you have to spend the night with him.
No other option. He insists.
Even keeps spare clothes for you in a drawer he set aside just for you.
Till one day: "Why don't you just move in with me? It'll be so much easier and I could see you even more."
You hesitated, since you were barely 6 months into the relationship and you already felt smothered by his constant presence.
"I don't.... I don't know Yunho.."
He panicked at your hesitation.
"Why...why not? Don't you love me? Is it because you don't want to be around me?"
You began calming him down, trying to explain that maybe things were going to fast, but that only made him get more agitated.
It was truly terrifying for you to see him hyperventilating and choking on his own breathing like that.
Hot tears were falling rapidly down his face as he began saying:
"Why don't you love me? Is it something I did? What am I doing wrong? Tell me!"
"Yunho you did nothing wrong. You're perfect the way you are and I love you just the way you are."
He sniffled and wiped his nose on one of his sweater paws.
"Do you love me? R-really?"
You nodded your head in confirmation. But Yunho was still sulky about something.
"But then.... wha-why not move in? I p-promise you'll like it."
He looked at you with such fragile and tender eyes that you could not refuse him. So you agreed to move in with him.
Biggest mistake you made.
Even though he had his eye on you for most of the day, it wasn't enough for him.
If you were even 3 minutes home later than usual, he was badgering you with questions like:
"Who were you with? What took you so long?"
And you're like "Geez. Let me breathe."
Don't say things like that to him. He starts feeling bad and responds with things like:
"I know I'm sorry, I'm such a pathetic excuse of a boyfriend."
It honestly broke your heart to hear him say such things.
But it also irritated you how jealous he got when you hung out or even talked to another man that wasn't him.
He'd latched onto you in public if he felt you were paying more attention than he liked to another guy.
Sometimes would cause a scene that made you run back home in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry! I just can't help it! Don't you get it?! They're trying to take you away from me!"
"No! You're just an overly possessive and overly jealous boyfriend and I can't stand it anymore! I'm leaving."
"Wait what?"
Yunho watched in horror as you began packing a small bag so you could spend the night somewhere else, and pick up the rest of your stuff later.
All throughout that, Yunho begged, cried and went ballistic.
He repeated for you not to go, not to leave him.
"Y/N you don't understand....you can't leave me... I'll die, I can't live without you.."
You merely rolled your eyes at that. No one dies of a broken heart.
So you just walked out the door and rented a hotel room for the night, unaware of the mess you were about to wake up to.
You woke up bombarded by texts and missed calls from Yunho's friends:
"What did you do to him?!" "You heartless bitch!" "I hope you die if anything happens to him!" "All he did was love you and you destroyed him."
Then the hospital called you: Yunho had tried to kill himself in the night.
Your heart stopped when you found out. You felt so guilty and you felt like a monster.
Without thinking twice, you ran to the hospital to see him.
He layed there, still unconscious from the medication they gave him to calm him down.
You stayed by his side, praying that he'd wake up soon so you could apologize.
He woke up and although he looked surprise to see you....he was only feigning.
Of course you'd go out of your way to see him.
You were bawling your eyes out and holding him close, scared out of your wits at the thought that you almost lost the love of your life.
Yunho apologized, but you hushed him with a kiss, saying it wasn't his fault.
From then on, you began blaming yourself for everything....
And he made sure to remind you not to test him again.
You thought that after that talk, everything would be back to normal and you two could be a regular couple.
How stupid you were.
Life with Yunho now was like walking on thin ice all the time.
You couldn't mention anything about him that made you slightly uncomfortable because he's belittling himself with such foul words, crying to the point of hysteria....
But the worst times are when he's banging his head on a wall hard enough to draw blood, or punching the concrete wall so hard that his knuckles end up bloody and bruised.
You have a heart attack whenever that happens.
You've been so traumatized by his previous suicide attempt that any harm he does to himself sends you in a panic and you're holding him to you, comforting him and reminding him that you love him and won't ever leave him.
Then happy Yunho is back, as if nothing happened.
And he always wants you to reaffirm your love after such ordeals in the bedroom.
Yunho never ever fucks you, no matter how messed up he is.
He likes to take his time with you, going down on you or teasing you with his long fingers before he's thrusting his cock deep inside you.
Always cums inside you, always. With no protection.
It's a reminder that you belong to him and him only.
And also because he knows there's a possibility he could get you pregnant.
Which is what he wants.
If you two have a child together, it would only strengthen the bond you two have and it's another reason to tie you down to him.
And that's exactly what happened.
You were terrified and tried to conceal it for the longest time, but Yunho isn't dumb.
He was elated when he found out you were carrying his child inside of you.
Which only prompted his obsessive nature to escalate.
He made you quit your job because he wanted you to stay home to take care of your baby.
Of course, that's just an excuse to keep you from leaving the house.
You two also officially got marriage, and that was it for Yunho.
He finally succeeded in bounding you two together for life.
As a father, he doesn't mind sharing you with your new baby daughter.
He loves and adores his daughter very dearly because she is a physical manifestation of the love between him and you.
But she's the only child you two are having. There's only so many people he's willing to share you with.
To others, he's a doting and loving father and husband.
In the eyes of an outsider, you guys are the perfect family.
But you.....you stopped fighting a long time ago.
You resigned yourself to accept that this is your life now and you'd better make the best of it.
You're no longer the strong, confident and decisive woman you once were.
Yunho made sure to tear that all down to the point where you simply just act in a way that'll make him happy and won't trigger him to repeat what happened years ago...
Especially not in front of your daughter. You do not want her to experience what you did.
So the question remains.....how do you escape Yandere Yunho?
Well....... you have two choices:
Either spend the rest of your life playing into his façade of a perfect relationship, that's the easier choice.
It certainly spares you the mental, emotional and physical strain of fearing when his next suicide attempt might happen if you do anything that'll result in him degrading himself or guilt tripping you into staying with him.
Or..........kill yourself. But keep in mind that if you do, he won't be too far behind from you. In the words of Yandere! Yunho himself:
"Nothing will ever break our bond, our bond is forever. Even in death, our love will go on."

I lost you
Katsuki Bakugou/Kacchan x Reader
Tumblr media
Genre: Angst
Summary: Katsuki sent you a letter full of things he can't say to you personally.
-
Hey.
I didn't know why I wrote this, my hands just moved on it's own. It's frustrating, really. It's frustrating that I have lots of things I always think about, but I ended up spewing the words opposite to it. I was born this way. I always feel like I'm the best, and I should be the only best.
But losing you is the worst thing.
When you left me, I become so angry. Why the fuck would you want to leave me? I haven't even done anything to you?
Looking back at it, it's funny. It's true. I didn't even do anything for you.
Your eyes shines whenever you see me. I felt more superior to anyone because of the look of admiration in your eyes. The way you care for me, like you'll do anything for me. You always move carefully around me, as you don't want to make me snap.
And what did I do during our three years together? I joked about you having weak quirk. I always keep you away from my missions and I keep telling you it's because you're not trustworthy. I keep telling you that you're not on my level.
But when I saw you last month, as you protect Deku with that powers of yours. I'm devastated.
I'm so fucking jealous. I keep laughing to myself. Why would I be jealous? I am Bakugou Katsuki.
And you are Deku's.
Funny. I always look down at him. He's worthless. But why does he ended up having all the blessings? Including you?
I followed you. You and your date with Deku. And you know what I observed? Your eyes shines like how it shone to me before. Your face screams happiness as he mumbles about his analysis. But one thing is different. One thing.
You breathe steadily around him.
As far as I can remember, you always end up having troubled breathing around me. You're stiff. You don't want to make wrong move around me. You don't want to break me in any way.
And I end up fucking up that.
I thought you'll never leave me, that you're afraid to make a wrong move that'll make me leave you.
I didn't know that you'll snap one day.
Do you feel safe around him? Is he now your home?
I thought about my errors. I'm sorry if I'm emotionally weak. I'm sorry for those words I left you. I'm sorry for not stopping you when you left.
I'm sorry for not saying I love you so much and I don't want you to leave me.
I wish I can turn back time. I wish I can have you back. I wish I can steal you from that damn nerd.
I love you.
I really do.
Come back to me, please. I'm begging you. I'll be better, teddy bear.
Katsu.
-
"L/N,Y/N!", a mailman went to the office. You turned around and smiled to the mailman then you muttered a 'thank you for your hardwork!'.
"Hey, what's that puppy?", Deku stretched his neck to look at your table. You didn't know what it is too. You turned the letter around.
K. B.
Your eyes suddenly lost all it's light. And Katsuki saw it. You all worked in the same agency.
You looked up at Izuku and you smiled at him.
"Nothing important. Just spam mail.", you crumpled it, not even bothering to see what's inside. You shoved it straight to the trash can.
You went back to your table and resume what you're doing.
You didn't even notice the guy looking at you, trying his best not to cry.
I lost you, huh.

christmas lights - pt. 2
fem!reader x drew mcintyre
reader and Drew are separated as they both figure out what they both want to do ...
Tumblr media
word count: 1.7k
warnings: mentions of cheating, mentions of divorce, angsty, upset!drew, lots of emotions
— part 2. parts 3 and 4 will be coming out tomorrow (12/22) and wednesday (12/23) just so y’all know —
masterlist || request an imagine here
part 1 || part 3 || part 4
***
You sit on the couch curled up in a ball. You're under a fuzzy blanket as you play with your engagement ring. You watch the diamond go around your finger a few times through your tears.
He cheated. You can't believe he did. He never seemed like the type to go and cheat on his significant other. He's so kind, so considerate, and so sensitive. Drew's the kind of person to make sure no one's hurt after an intense match and he immediately feels bad if he's hurt someone. He always gets upset if he hurts someone, so you don't understand why he'd just go and cheat on you, and lie about it to your face.
That night from two weeks ago flashes in your mind and you begin to cry softly on the couch. You rest your forehead on your knees and sob.
The cries echo through the empty house you once shared with Drew. It's been so quiet without the TV blaring some kind of wrestling match or without Drew yelling to wherever you were and asking you where something is. You've gotten used to it when he's away but he's supposed to be home right now. He's supposed to be holding you in his arms, and you can't stop picturing him possibly holding her in his arms.
There's a knock on the door and you get up.
You've asked Candice LeRae, Indi Heartwell, Sasha Banks, and Liv Morgan to all come over. WWE is in the area for the next few weeks and they fixed their schedules so they could come talk to you.
When you open the door, you see Candice and Indi standing there. Candice's face drops and says, "Oh, God. It's as bad as I thought."
Indi hugs you tight before Candice joins in.
"Wait, I want in!" Liv Morgan yells behind Candice and Indi. She joins in.
You feel better with your girls around. The pain temporarily goes away.
Sasha arrives shortly after Liv did and all of you sit in the living room. Candice and Liv sit on either side of you as you try to stop crying long enough to tell them what happened.
Liv gently rubs your back as you say, "So, um, Drew's been cheating on me. I don't know for how long, but on Christmas a woman sent him a photo of her in some lingerie and told him to enjoy the picture if I don't satisfy him enough." Then the tears begin.
Candice hugs you and Sasha says, "I'm gonna beat his ass, I swear to God."
You cry, "He told me that it was a friend who likes to tease him because I'm never around to have sex but I never believed him. It's such a bullshit lie."
The girls look at each other before Indi says, "When we see him, we'll give him a piece of our minds. We won't let him get away with that."
Candice asks, "What do you want to do, Y/N? What's the next step here?"
You wipe your tears and sit up. You say, "I don't know. I don't want him around but at the same time, I need him. He's the only thing in my life that's keeping me sane right now besides you guys but you're around just as much as he is. I just feel like I wasn't good enough for him and if I feel like that then what's the point in keeping him around?"
"No, sweetie," Sasha coos. "It's his loss if he wants to go and mess around behind your back. You don't deserve someone like that."
Candice takes your hand and Liv says, "You haven't talked to him, have you? Not since Christmas?"
You shake your head and say, "He told me he was going to stay at Sheamus and Cesaro's place. I haven't talked to him or seen him since. I've called out of work for at least another week because I told them that I was having family problems and needed to be placed on an indefinite leave for right now."
Indi says, "I'd say talk to him, no matter how much it hurts. If you feel like the relationship is broken then fix it. If it's too far gone then it's time to divorce him."
Divorce. Could you divorce the man you promised to spend the rest of your life with? The man you planned to start a family with? Could you do that?
Fixing what's broken sounds like the best thing to do, but is it what he wants to do? Or does he love her more than he loves you? Does he even love you anymore? Is there a relationship to even be fixed.
You could ask for less hours at work, but then when Drew's on the road you'll be lonely. If you don't change your hours then he may stray away again.
Drew hasn't reached out at all so you can only assume the worst. He did tell you to talk to him when you were ready, but will you ever be ready to talk to the man that told you he loved you but betrayed you?
***
Drew's POV
It's been two weeks. Two damn weeks and Y/N hasn't reach out at all. I think that this is it. I think I messed up so much that she's officially gone.
I almost begin to expect divorce papers at this point. That'll probably be the next time I see Y/N. She'll be handing me divorce papers to end the seven year marriage between the two of us.
Sheamus knocks on my door frame and walks in. Cesaro right behind him.
"Hey, buddy," Sheamus says. "Ya hangin' in there?"
I shake my head and say, "I can't believe I fucked up this much. I can't believe I fucking told her I cheated when I didn't. Hell, I told Diane she can keep the set and blocked her because of this. I don't know what to do, dude."
Cesaro asks, "Has Y/N reached out?"
I shake my head. "No," I say. "God, I'm an idiot. I should just expect divorce papers. There's no way that she'll believe me if I actually tell her the truth."
"Ya should try," Sheamus says. "Communication is key. Ya should talk to her and try tellin' her the truth. Beg for her forgiveness."
I look down at my hands in my lap and sigh.
Sheamus is right. I just don't think she'll believe me since I told her I cheated on her when I didn't. There's proof that I never cheated on her. I just don't think that she'll believe me if I tell her the truth.
My phone begins to ring and I immediately answer it, hoping it's Y/N.
"Drew, you asshat," Candice LeRae says to me. "You cheated on her?"
Of course she told Candice. Indi, Sasha, and Liv all probably think that too.
I say, "I never cheated. She took a text the wrong way. I wasn't able to explain myself so yeah, I told her I cheated but I never cheated."
Candice says, "Tell me your side. Maybe I can get her to reach out to you so she can get your side."
"I have a friend, Diane," I start. "Well, had. She's blocked on everything now. Anyway, she and I bought Y/N a gift for Christmas. It was a lingerie set and I wanted a woman opinion on it so I took Diane shopping with me and she helped me pick it out. It was a surprise for Y/N. So Diane asked me to come over to come get it but Y/N was home and I didn't want to leave because it's been so long since I saw Y/N. Diane decided to mess with me by sending me a picture of herself in the set I bought for Y/N and said 'I'm sorry ya couldn't come over. This is for ya. Enjoy it if that wife of yers doesn't satisfy ya enough', and Y/N saw the text and immediately accused me of cheating."
Candice is quiet the entire time as I explain myself to her. Sheamus and Cesaro listen too.
I continue with, "And I might've told Y/N that I cheated because she wasn't believing me and I thought that it was what she wanted to hear."
Sheamus and Cesaro both facepalm and Candice says, "You're a dumbass, you know that? She's a crying mess over here and she thinks that she wasn't good enough for you, Drew. She's called out of work indefinitely and she's probably been over here crying for two weeks. You need to fix this."
I rub my face and I say, "I know that! I don't know how. She probably doesn't want to talk t'me and it wouldn't surprise me if she's called a divorce lawyer at this point."
"She doesn't know what she wants to do," Candice sighs. "I think she wants to talk things out but I don't think she thinks there's a relationship to fix. You need to do something, Drew. Soon."
I sigh and say, "I will. I just need some time, okay? Make sure she's okay and I'll talk t'her soon."
Candice says, "Alright, but you're still a dumbass and I know Y/N loves you so I'll do what I can. I believe you, by the way. That is way too elaborate to be a lie."
"Gee, thanks," I mumble.
We say goodbye and I look between Sheamus and Cesaro as I hang up the phone.
I sigh, "How did I get here?"
Sheamus says, "Your first mistake was going lingerie shopping with a woman that wasn't your wife."
He's probably right about that. Well, not probably. He's right about that.
It was that event that snowballed into this, and I hate the situation that I'm in. I told Y/N to reach out to me when she was ready but if she doesn't think there's a relationship to fix then she'll reach out to me when she needs me to sign divorce papers.

Sonic Dark Shadows, Chapter 4
*Back At The Apartment* *The gang is seen standing at Tails' desk* *Tails is doing research on the fabric scrap, Rouge, Silver and Blaze found earlier* Sonic: So.. You found this in the alleyway? Silver: Mhm! It was behind some trash cans, we think it might belong to the culprit. Tails: Hmm.... Blaze: What is it, Tails? Tails: Well, I think I've deciphered the DNA sample on this scrap of fabric...but you're not gonna like the answer.. Knuckles: Oh come on, just tell us. Tails: Well...the scanner identified the sample as...Dark Gaia Essence. *Every gasps, shocked by what they've heard* *Sonic starts breathing heavily* Silver: Dark Gaia Essence!? *Blaze hugs the frightened hedgehog* Blaze: Calm down, Silver.. Tails: It looks like Amy might've been attacked by a Dark Gaia Spawn. *Sonic takes a close look at the fabric scrap* Sonic: Dark blue...hot pink... *His eyes suddenly go wide, and a look of dread appears on his face* Sonic: No! I-It can't be! *Everyone looks at him* Rouge: What's wrong, Big Blue? *Sonic turns his attention to the gang* Sonic: Guys, we need to get out there, and warn the citizens of Saint Metro, because if this belongs to who I think it does, they're all in huge danger. Knuckles: Can do. Silver: What about Kylie? She's still out there! *Sonic looks down at the ground* Sonic: I'll go after her, I made her angry, I should be the one to go after her. *Sonic walks towards the door* Sonic: Come on, let's get moving! *Sonic rushes out the door* *Everyone looks at each other, before running out the door* *Meanwhile, Somewhere In The City* *The Sun Is Starting To Set* *Shadow and Kylie Dear are seen walking around the area* *Kylie's looking down at the ground* *Shadow looks at her, and notices her sudden mood change* Shadow: Is something wrong..? Kylie: I--I just can't believe she's back.. I mean..out of all the people to come back, why did it have to be her!? Shadow: Kylie- Kylie: You weren't there when it happened, you were busy helping Knuckles find the Gaia Temples, but when I was helping Sonic fix the planet, that woman filled my life with pure misery! She tormented me, made me hate myself.. I'm still dealing with self doubt because of her! *Shadow's expression changes from confused to concerned* Kylie: And that wasn't even the worst part! *Shadow looks away for a split second, but immediately looks back at his distressed ally* Shadow: If you don't mind me asking... what was the worst part..? Kylie: *sighs* She..... *She starts to choke up* Kylie: She possessed me..! Shadow: What!? Kylie: She took over my body...made me hurt Sonic and Chip..she made me do horrible things..! *Tears well up in her eyes, and she starts breathing heavily* Kylie: I let my guard down.. and she took advantage of me..! Made me do stuff against my will..! *Shadow has a horrified expression on his face* Kylie: M-Maybe that's why Sonic doesn't believe in me anymore... *sniffles* because when he did.. I let someone hurt me...and I ended up hurting him..! Shadow: Kylie... *Shadow grabs Kylie's hand, and looks up at her* *She looks down at him, tears falling from her eyes* Shadow: You didn't let her hurt you..she took advantage of you while you were vulnerable..! Kylie: *sniffles* Shadow: People like her will take any chance they get to hurt someone, and hurt them in ways that'll leave their victims crying in agony, and begging for mercy..! Kylie: I-- *sniffles* Shadow: It wasn't your fault that she wanted to hurt you..it wasn't your fault that she wanted to hurt Sonic and Chip, and it was never your fault that she chose to be a heartless, vile entity.. she chose that path, and unfortunately, she chose to drag you down that path with her.. Kylie: Sh--She... Shadow: Please don't blame yourself for what she chose to do.. and I, nor anyone else will ever let her do that to you, ever again..! Kylie: Sh--Shadow..! *The distraught human girl pulls her hedgehog companion into a tight hug, and bursts into tears* *Shadow hugs her back, and gives her a pat on the
back* Shadow: It's ok.. Kylie: *sniffles* Th-Thank you so much..! *A little smile appears on Shadow's face* Shadow: Anytime.. *Kylie let's go of Shadow* Kylie: W-We should probably get going.. We've still got a case to crack. Shadow: *He chuckles a little* Yeah.. *The two start to walk away* *Shadow suddenly stops, his right ear twitches, and he turns around* *Kylie is blissfully humming to herself* Kylie: You know, that really made me feel better, thank you Shadow. *Kylie turns around, only to find that Shadow has vanished* Kylie: Shadow? *She looks around for any sign of Shadow, but he's no where to be seen* Kylie: Shadow, where are you? *The sun sets, and the moon rises into the sky* Kylie: Shadow! Quit playing and come out! *Suddenly, a beeping sound is heard* Kylie: Huh!? *Kylie reaches into her bag, and pulls out Tails' tracker* *The screen says warning, danger detected* Kylie: Danger? What danger!? *A distant screeching sound is heard* *Kylie's face goes pale, and she immediately turns around* *Several Dark Gaia Spawn are heading towards her* *The beeping sound gets louder, until it sounds like a nuclear meltdown warning* Kylie: Oh gosh! *Kylie puts the tablet back into the bag, and takes out her frying pan* Kylie: St-Stay back! I have a cast iron frying pan in my hand, and I'm not afraid to use it! *The Dark Gaia Spawn look at each other, and then back at Kylie, then they suddenly burst into fits of laughter* Kylie: Oh ha, ha, ha! Laugh all you want, but in the right hands, these things are lethal weapons! *Kylie runs towards them while holding up her frying pan, screaming along the way* *She manages to hit one of the Dark Gaia Spawn with her frying pan, causing it to fall to the ground, and evaporate* *Kylie laughs triumphantly, but her laughter is cut short when she looks up to notice the rest Dark Gaia Spawn, each of them wearing a look of pure rage* Kylie: Oh gosh.. *They all screech at her* Kylie: Oh you want some more!? I'll give you more! *She swings her frying pan at them, only for one of the creatures to grab the frying pan, and rips it out of her grasp* Kylie: Hey! *The creature then grabs her, and holds her up* Kylie: Hey!! Put me down right now!! *She starts punching the creature in the face* *The creature screeches and pain, and in a fit of rage, it throws the angered girl* *Kylie screams in shock, before hitting the asphalt* Kylie: *grunts* Ow.. *She looks up to notice the Dark Gaia Spawn slowly walking towards her, surrounding her* *She shuffles backwards, desperately trying to get away, only to hit a wall* *She pulls the walkie talkie out of her pocket, and presses the button* Kylie: Shadow! Come in Shadow! *Nothing but static is heard* Kylie: Shadow please! There's Dark Gaia Spawn everywhere!! Shadow! Shadow!! *No one responds* Kylie: Please answer me!! *Kylie's expression goes from scared, to devastated, thinking this was about to be her last moment alive, or worse, in full control of herself* *The creatures go to strike, Kylie closes her eyes, and screams in terror, just when she thinks it's the end, she suddenly hears a loud thud, and snarling, the screeches of the Dark Gaia Spawn soon accompanying it* Kylie: H-Huh!? *She opens her eyes to see the mysterious beast beating up the Dark Gaia Spawn* Kylie: *gasps* *The beast repeatedly punches, kicks, and claws at the creatures, one by the one, the creatures start to die off, and evaporate* Kylie: H-Holy fudge! *The beast grabs one of the creatures, and throws it at the wall* *Kylie screams in shock, as the creature hits the wall right next to her, and falls to the ground* *The blow from the creature left a large crack in the wall* *She turns her attention back to the beast* *The beast keeps fighting the creatures, until there are none left, all of them having evaporated, and wisped away* *Kylie Dear is just staring in shock, as she is both horrified, and amazed by what she's seen* Kylie: Whoa.. *The beast turns towards her* Kylie: *gasps* *It suddenly walks towards
her* Kylie: Oh gosh..! Oh gosh! *It softly growls at her* Kylie: H-Hey, I-I appreciate the rescue, b-but, my brother and friends are probably worried about me, I have a dog to feed, his name's Muttsky, he's precious, you should meet him. *She chuckles nervously* Shadow!! *The beast gently grabs her, and picks her up* Kylie: Whoa! *The beast runs away, carrying the terrified brunette in its arms* Kylie: Oh gosh! No Shadow! Shadow!! Help!! *Meanwhile, In Another Part Of The City* *Sonic The Werehog is running around, desperately looking for Kylie* Sonic: Kylie! Kylie! *He suddenly stops, and looks around the area* *Sonic expression changes from concerned, to scared* *The werehog whines softly, as he finds himself starting to lose hope* Sonic: I'm sorry ok!? I didn't mean to upset you! I--I don't think you're incompetent, you're one of the bravest people I know! I just don't want anything bad to happen to you! *Tears well up in Sonic's eyes, and he chokes up* Sonic: P-Please come back! *sniffles* I--I'm sorry! *Sonic looks down at the ground, tears falling from his eyes* *He suddenly hears a sinister, yet familiar chuckle* *Sonic's opens his eyes, they have been filled with rage upon hearing that dread laugh* *He turns around, and growls at something unseen* *The sound of heels clanking echoes through the area* *Suddenly, Shadolene emerges from the shadows, she wears her signature, sinister smile on her face* Shadolene: Hello, Sonic.. *Sonic snarls at the shadow demon* Shadolene: Now now, is that any way to greet an old friend..? Sonic: You..are no friend to me..! *He says with anger in his voice* Shadolene: That hurts Sonic, that really hurts.. *She says in a sarcastic tone* Sonic: Where's Kylie, what have you done to her!? Shadolene: *She chuckles evilly* What makes you think I have your so called sister..? Sonic: Don't play dumb, we both know you still want to possess her! Shadolene: You know me too well.. *Sonic growls at her* Shadolene: Well as much as I would like to say I have her, I don't.. she ran away from me before I could get her. *Sonic sighs in relief upon hearing those words* Sonic: Thank Gaia.. Shadolene: *She rolls her eyes* Sonic: Well, where's Amy!? I know for a fact that you took her, we found a piece of YOUR dress in the alleyway, where she was taken! Shadolene: That pink bimbo? *Sonic growls at her* Shadolene: *She chuckles evilly* I knew that would get you.. *sighs* I haven't done anything to her, you could say that I'm.. holding onto her for a while.. Sonic: Give her back! Shadolene: Why should I? I still need her.. *The shadow dragon starts laughing evilly, which angers the already ticked off werehog* *Sonic stretches his arm out, and scratches Shadolene* *She screams in pain* *Shadolene clutches her arm, which has been inflicted with deep scratch marks, Dark Gaia Essence seeps out of the wound* *Shadolene hisses at Sonic, before getting back onto her feet* Shadolene: You wanna make this personal huh? Well good news, I was already considering making it personal when you cracked my gem! *Sonic's expression changes from angry, to slightly scared* Shadolene: You're gonna pay.. *Shadolene vanishes back into the shadows* *Sonic is left standing there, horrified by the possible implications of Shadolene's threat* Sonic: Oh Gaia...! *Meanwhile, In Another Part Of The City* *The beast is seen running on top of the rooftops, holding Kylie Dear in one arm* Kylie: Put me down! Put me down you-you--you animal! I don't know what you are, you blend surprisingly well it the darkness! *The beast looks over the edge of the roof* *Kylie looks down, and gasps in horror at the sight of the tall drop* Kylie: Oh no, no, no, no, no, no- *The beast jumps down* Kylie: NO!! *Luckily, the beast grabs onto the railing of a balcony* Kylie: Huh!? *The beast climbs onto the balcony* *Kylie looks up to find that the beast has brought her back to her room* Kylie: What the? *The beast walks towards the room, and gently places Kylie onto the floor* *She
turns towards the doorway, and looks at the creature* *Although it is mostly hidden in darkness, she can see that the beast has a gentle look in it's eyes* Kylie: Th--Thanks? *The beast whines softly* Kylie: Um.. *The beast turns around, and jumps off of the balcony* Kylie: Huh!? *She runs towards the railing of the balcony, only to see the beast running off into the distance* *Kylie is left standing in both shock, and confusion, not knowing what to think of the sudden turn of events* Kylie: That was weird.. *She walks into her room, closing the balcony doors behind her* *She walks towards her bed, and sits down* Kylie: What a crazy night.. *Suddenly, the bedroom doorknob turns* Kylie: *gasps* *Thankfully, the person who opens the door is none other than Sonic* Kylie: Sonic!? *Sonic gasps, and smiles brightly upon seeing his long last companion* Sonic: Kylie! *The relieved werehog rushes towards Kylie, and hugs her* Kylie: *grunts* Sonic: I was so worried about you! Kylie: *She giggles a little* Don't worry, Sonic, I'm fine. *Sonic pulls back a little, and looks at Kylie* Sonic: Kylie.. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. Kylie: No, I'm the one who should be sorry, I was being immature, and I shouldn't have stormed out like that.. I'm sorry, Sonic.. Sonic: But I caused you to storm out. Kylie: You were worried... Sonic: But- *Kylie puts her finger over Sonic's mouth* Kylie: Let's just say that we're both sorry.. Sonic: Agreed.. *The two smile at each other, before embracing themselves in a big hug* (To Be Continued.) Sonic The Hedgehog belongs to ©SEGA. Sonicverse Kylie Dear, and Shadolene belong to Me.

168 hours without you
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kamilah x Mc
Disclaimer: Characters belongs to PB
A/N: Mother has arrived bitches
Prompt: Married life was something so new, so strange and wonderfully good, being a wife was something Kamilah would never have imagined she was extremely good at, but when Mia has to travel to a business conference and spend a week away, Kamilah will have to deal with the 168 hours without her wife, can she handle it?

The penthouse, 21:45pm
Leaning against the threshold of the door, Kamilah stood silently watching Mia, with her back to her, patiently packing her suitcase, folding piece after piece and placing them in her Louis Vuitton suitcase.
"So, are you leaving already?" The question came out in a low tone, but enough so Mia could hear it.
"Yup" She answered without turning around, her attention focused on her purse and the items she was going to put in it. "Do you think it would be too much if I put on a sixth dress? I want to keep my options open."
Kamilah shook her head when she heard that, an affectionate smile on her lips.
"In all my business trips, I never considered adding more than two dresses, but you seem to be the exception to the rule."
Mia laughed looking over her shoulder with her greenish eyes, and that bright dimpled smile, which made Kamilah's heart soar with a certain frequency, more than she would like to admit out loud.
"I am aware, Mrs Sayeed." She smiled and went back to what she was doing.
Kamilah crossed her arms and entered the room, seeing Mia going on a business trip to London, leaving her at a crossroads of feelings.
She was proud, incredibly proud that her wife had ascended to such an important position as COO of Raines Corp, even though Adrian was now completely devoted to his position as Senator of New York, he still remained CEO, and the promotion her wife had received was more than deserved.
However, another part of her heart still remained restless, both were married for only 4 months and that was still all too new for her, and seeing her wife travel, and spending a week away negotiating with investidors in London and leaving her in New York alone in their penthouse, made her heart restless more than she would have liked.
"I know you're worried about me" Mia broke the silence, surprising Kamilah before she could say anything. "But it'll be okay, I promise. I won't mess up this opportunity."
Her words left Kamilah surprised in those mere seconds, and Mia saw this, her green eyes carefully watching her wife recover her composure and her usual stoic look.
"I-" Kamilah began to say, but was interrupted by her young wife.
"Telepath, remember? I know you don't like it when someone invade your mind. It's not as if I'm reading your thoughts on purpose, sometimes it gets out of my control." She shrugged.
"What I mean is I know the importance of this trip and the seriousness, and it's an opportunity to show Adrian that he wasn't wrong to give me the COO job, and to show you that I've matured."
A smile escaped Kamilah's lips before she could contain it.
"I know. I see it, every day."
"You know you could go with me." Mia approached Kamilah, a small trace of hope in her eyes.
Kamilah smiled at her words. As much as she wanted to go with her wife, she knew that this was to be her trip, and the success of the negotiation depended exclusively on her, and Kamilah did not want to steal her merit or distract her from her goal. Besides, she still had to keep her company in control too.
"You know my company needs me, even if I am supervising from home, and my garden needs my attention too."
"I knew you'd say that" Mia gave a smug smile that Kamilah knew perfectly well and turned her attention to her bag.
"Okay, I think we're all set." Mia climbed up the zipper of her purse, looking around at all her necessary utensils on the bed. "I think I've got everything I need."
"Dresses"? Check. Heels? Check. Dryer, toothbrush, notebook and everything a modern woman needs to survive on a trip? Check. Joke cards to tell at the meeting? Check."
Kamilah rolled her eyes.
"You're not taking this." She said by approaching and taking the joke cards out of her wife's hands. "That'll stay with me."
"Hey! I got great jokes there." Mia tried to take them back, uselessly.
"Are you seriously considering telling jokes during an important business meeting?" Kamilah arched one of her eyebrows, knowing Mia that was a silly question. Of course she would.
"I don't see a problem with that, it's to relieve more of the weather and tension. I do it when I'm nervous."
"Absolutely not." The Egyptian vampire ripped up the cards and threw them in the bathroom trash.
"Uh... You know I have a copy of these with my assistant, right?" Mia said pointing to the bathroom.
"You're unbelievable." Kamilah rolled her eyes again.
"I prefer the term ‘misunderstood amazing genius’, but we can work with that one too.”
Mia checked her wristwatch.
"Alright, I have to run so I don't catch traffic."
"Are you sure you wouldn't rather use the jet? I'm not using it."
"Of course not." Mia took her bags out of bed without the slightest effort and put them on the floor, wearing her overcoat that was on the bed. "It's a business trip for Adrian to make a profit, and besides, I'd much rather travel at the expense of the company and Adrian than yours. It's my way of fighting capitalism."
Kamilah didn't contain her smug smile.
"Do I need to remind you of your salary before we go to argue about capitalism?"
"Nobody's perfect." Mia fired back while finishing the final touches to her makeup.
Kamilah accompanied her with her handbag, while both went down the stairs towards the elevator. Mia left her bags on the elevator floor and took a step towards Kamilah.
"I love you." Mia fired before Kamilah could say anything. "Kind of a lot."
Kamilah laughed a little, smiling affectionately.
"I love you too. Very much." Mia wrapped Kamilah's neck with her arms, standing on tiptoe and giving her a long, warm, deep kiss.
"I'll miss you every day." Mia said. "I don't know how I'm going to sleep without you, I got used to sleeping with you, you know? Because when I hug you when we go to sleep cuddling, your hot ass warms me up during the night. And there's this way that we sleep that you fit in with me, which is so good."
"Was that supposed to be a declaration of love?" Kamilah arched an eyebrow, the humor evident in her face.
"Of course it was." Mia rolled her eyes with a smile on her lips. "I love you, babe." She said leaving kisses on Kamilah's cheek and lips.
"All right, before I go I want to say goodbye to someone else, where is he?" Mia looked over Kamilah's shoulder, looking for that little fuzzy ball.
"Come on, kid." She whistled with her fingers, and seconds later, a little Corgi's puppy appeared in the penthouse living room, with his tongue out, his collar leaping as he ran, stumbling on his own paws trying to get to Mia.
Kamilah watched the scene with her usual stoic look, maybe that dog was the animal personification of her wife, — dumbass, hyperactive, always cheerful and clumsy.
"Who's the good boy? It's you, Dexter. You're mommy's good boy." Mia got down on her knees to welcome him, picking him up on her lap and pouring kisses into his hairy body. Dexter reciprocated her affection by cheerfully wagging his little tail.
Kamilah remembered perfectly the day Mia adopted Dexter.
"Please, please?" Mia followed her through the penthouse, while Kamilah kept busy with some reports from her company that had just arrived.
"No." Kamilah responded without diverting her attention from her reports.
"Why not? I won't even buy it! We won him. My cousin's dog had puppies and she asked if we'd want one, I don't see why not adopt one. He'll keep us company."
Kamilah sighed, stopping in the hall, turning to look at her wife.
"We live in a penthouse..."
"...Which is very big, by the way."
"The dog will bark and defecate and leave excrement all over the house, and I don't know if you've noticed, but I have objects over 2000 years old in this house, worth millions, which would make me very angry if some animal destroyed them.”
"It could be our son, love."
"When your mother asked us when we'd give her grandchildren, I don't think it crossed her mind that it could be a dog. The answer is no." Kamilah walked down the hall again.
"Don't you love me anymore?!" Mia screamed after her trying to keep up, frowning.
"I love you, even too much. Stop being dramatic, I'm doing this for your own good."
Mia ran in front of her and crossed her arms, staring at the tall vampire, the woman who for many could be the worst nightmare of their lives.
"You want to bet me we'll adopt him?" Mia smiled with conviction.
Kamilah gave her the smile back.
"Nothing you do will convince me to keep him. I am a woman of my word."
...
"What were you saying?" Mia lifted her face, with a sarcastic smile on her lips, the apparent victoriness before her wife.
Kamilah opened her mouth to answer, still panting. Her chest descending and rising as her breathing returned to normal. Ignoring her wife's words, she took it upon herself to pull up her pants and fasten her belt, then closing the buttons on her shirt.
"I can't believe you convinced me through sex."
"Fucking mind blowing good sex, by the way." Mia laughed leaving a kiss on her right shoulder.
"You can keep the dog, but I don't want him near my plants, my things and my garden, you hear? You're responsible for him," she said standing and leaving the room.
...
"I don't want to be late, I better go." Mia stood and left him on the floor. "Take care of him, okay? His things are in the kitchen. I think you two can keep each other company while I'm gone."
Kamilah rolled her eyes.
"Looks like I don't have much choice." Mia gave her that bright dimpled smile, came up and kissed her.
"Behave yourself while I'm gone." She gave her that look Kamilah knew well, a funny look, but deep down, Kamilah knew about her wife's jealousy, and she had fun knowing that. "I promise I will behave and not cause any confusion."
"As if you could keep that promise." Kamilah laughed, gently kissing her lips.
"Well, at least I can promise to make you proud. I'll make you proud of me, you'll see." Mia got in the elevator and pressed the button.
"Call me when you get to the hotel." Kamilah said, Mia just nodded before the doors closed. "And so there were only two left."
Day 1
The alarm clock next to the bedside began to ring, showing that it was already morning, the CEO passed her hand through her tired eyes, she sighed, her hand stretching out to her right side, finding only the emptiness.
She was not there. But her perfume remained present, as if she had slept through the night next to Kamilah. The Egyptian woman stood under her elbows and lit the lamp beside the bed, turning off the annoying alarm that sounded over her ears. Automatically she looked to her right side, being greeted by just a smiling photo of Mia in a portrait beside the bed.
"It's weird not having you here and waking me up with all that noise you make in the morning." Kamilah laughed at herself with that thought and sat down, looking for her slippers.
As she looked down, she was greeted by Dexter who was nibbling her slippers with his little teeth.
"How you got up here I'll never know." Kamilah sighed and took her slippers and put them on. The dog sat down and looked at her, tilting his head to the side. "Well, good morning to you too."
Kamilah put on her black robe, and left her room going to the bathroom for her morning routine involving a great dozen hair and skincare products. After finishing, she directed her attention to the kitchen after a good breakfast, being followed by Dexter who ran as fast as his little paws allowed.
With the intention of preparing her breakfast, Kamilah turned on the coffee maker and set out to prepare her pancakes. With Mia absent, she knew perfectly well that she would not get her morning coffee made by her wife, she would never admit it, but she had a weakness for the coffee made by Mia.
As soon as she set the table, Dexter's bark caught her eye.
"Are you hungry?" She asked to him. Then, she made sure there was food and water in the bowls, which made him run to her to eat.
Never that she thought she would have a dog, Mia really was a box of surprises, it was amazing how she made Kamilah agree to everything.
Sitting at her usual place at the table, having everything settled and reading the newspaper, her cell phone started vibrating on the table and Kamilah caught him, seeing a picture of Mia on the screen. She smiled unconsciously.
"Hey!"
"Good morning, my love." Kamilah smiled.
"Okay, first of all, hotel rooms on the penthouse are incredible! Ugh, you don't know how I missed sleeping with you. And that wonderful thing you do in my hair, you know what I'm saying?"
"I certainly missed sleeping with you too, and you stealing all the bed space, sleeping on me and stealing all the covers for yourself."
"It's not my fault what my subconscious does and I've apologized!"
Kamilah laughed lovingly.
"How's the trip?"
"It's great, I've been to three stores and yes, I ignored you and bought you a present, even though you said it wasn't necessary."
"You're impossible."
"Just fulfilling my duties as a wife. How are you doing? I bet it sucks to stay in New York without me. Without my coffee, without my good morning kisses, and without me to put my Angry Birds socks on your feet every cold night." Kamilah smiled, feeling her playful tone on the other end of the line.
"...Every time I wake up they're on my feet."
"You're welcome."
Kamilah laughed affectionately.
"Well, since you asked, the house is slightly quiet without you. Just the way I like it."
"Oh, come on. You love my noise." Mia laughed. "So, how's Dexter?"
Kamilah spied over the counter, finding him on the carpet.
"Right now he's in a war against a rubber duck." Kamilah listening to the shrill sound coming from the duck being attacked.
"Aw, send me pictures of him later."
"Absolutely not."
"Is everything okay in there?" Mia asked, worried.
"It's all right, my love. I'm fine, and yes, I'll be fine for the whole week."
"That doesn't mean I won't call you every day just to make sure." Mia replied stubbornly, making Kamilah laugh. "I miss you, a lot. I can't wait to come back and see you."
"I miss you too, love. When you come back maybe we could go to that shady restaurant in the suburbs you love to go to."
"Excuse me, I like my shady restaurant in the suburbs, thank you very much, it was the restaurant I used to go to when I didn't have a dollar in my pocket when I started in New York, I have to stay humble, but OH, HELL YES!". Her excitement was so infectious, Kamilah barely noticed the smile on her face.
The CEO could clearly hear voices in the background behind Mia.
"Who's there with you?"
"Just Tyler and Nathalie, my assistants. They're discussing which of my cards I should use first."
Kamilah rolled her eyes.
"And I told you not to use those cards."
"When will you and Adrian learn that I do the opposite of what I'm told to do? It's in my nature."
“Your brat.”
"I have to go, I have a meeting in a few minutes and I have to finish my paperwork. Good luck with your garden and your reports, sweetheart. I love you." Mia said a few seconds to say goodbye and hang up.
“I love you too.”
Kamilah sighed, a week without Mia would probably be something new, especially knowing that since the wedding they have not separated for a long time, now she would have to spend a week alone, just her in that big apartment, with all her attention on her plants, and with an unexpected company.

I woke up one morning without you by my side. Nothing new, really. Not until I sat up from the bed. I sniff once then twice, the familiar scent of bacon and pancakes is not present.
Maybe she went to work early. I thought to myself and prepared myself to go to work too. Pushing the uneasiness in the pit of my stomach.
After fixing my tie, I grabbed my phone by the nightstand. No new message. It's not that we leave messages anymore if one of us leaves earlier. Not anymore. I sigh and headed to the dining to eat my breakfast. But the emptiness of the table welcomed me. That's when my gut feeling got stronger. Something is not right.
I hit the realization that you never went home last night. The house was empty when I got home, thinking that you just have to work overtime again. Which oftently happens lately but you always send me a message about it. I don't wait up for you 'till you get home because I always fall asleep.
My eyebrows met as I speed dial your number. It rang for few seconds then followed by a beeped.
"Hi! I might be busy as of this moment. Just leave me a message, I'll get back to you soon!" You giggled before the call dropped.
I stare at my phone, wondering when was the last time I heard you being cheerful.
<!-- more -->
"I'm home." I said as I removed my shoes and change into my house slippers. You welcomed me with your pout and arms crossed.
"What's wrong, love?" I chuckled because of your cuteness. 4 years of being together and I can't still get over you.
"It's Saturday and you left without me."
"It's too early for you to get up and I did text you, I need to drop by the office for the new storyboard." I pulled you closer as my arms snaked around your waist.
"But what took you so long?" Finally giving in and you put your arms on my shoulder.
"Because of this." I took a step back to show my bag.
"Yes, hun? That's still the same bag." You said in confusion.
I chuckled and tugged you towards the sofa to make ourselves comfortable. I pulled out 2 boxes from my bag and you gasped.
"Wh-what? But why? You don't have too." You said with a pout.
"Love, your phone will barely make it 'till next month. Your screen is smashed from last month's incident." I stated.
"Yeah, thanks to Bokuto-san." You rolled your eye but laughed.
"One for you and one for me." I said and you squealed.
"Thank you, thank you!" You threw your arms around me and showered me with kisses.
"Anything for you, love." I said and kissed your lips.
We both excitedly opened our new phones. That's how we spent the rest of our Saturday afternoon.
"Hello. I'm busy and I'm not sure if I can get back to you unless you're my husband."
I looked at you and you just flashed me your gummy smile.
"What was that?" I asked.
"It's for my voicemail." You said innocently.
I facepalm myself and shook my head at your antics.
"What will your officemate think if they hear that?"
"What? It's cute." You laughed. I scoff before laughing too.
"No, change it."
I whined and you refuse until I attacked you with tickles just so you change it.
"Stop! Stop! Okay! Okay! I will!" You surrendered.
I put my arms around you just to secure you that you won't run to hide because I know you well enough. You giggled at my action and started recording again.
"Hi! I might be busy as of this moment. Just leave me a message, I'll get back to you soon!"
You giggle and ended the record.
You looked up to face me and smile. I held you tighter as I snuggled my face in your neck. And traces some butterfly kisses.
"Now, it's time for you to pay back the phone."
"Ohhhhh, sir, I am more than willing to pay."
You said and we both fell into laughters.
It's been a year since you did that record. I sent you a message but I received none until I reached the office. Still no you. I can't help but to worry and be distracted the whole day. I'm already thinking of things, why you didn't come home and contacted me. Maybe, you slept over to some friends and your phone ran out of battery or maybe you suddenly went home to your family or maybe all of the hundred reason I thought of, doesn't make sense because you weren't careless like that and you don't want other people worrying about you.
That's when I started thinking of the worst that maybe you caught up in an accident. It was lunch time when I decided to go to your office.
______
"Good Afternoon, I just want to ask if she's in?"
I ask the receptionist. She's also your friend so she's pretty much familiar with me too.
"Eh? She's on leave for 4 days. It started yesterday. Didn't she tell you?" The lady behind the desk asked confusedly.
"I…" I was lost for words.
"Is everything okay between you two? She seems so distant lately and she's even the first one to go home every time." She explained
I can't mask my upset feeling bubbling in my chest.
"But she always works overtime." I stated.
"Overtime? Our company no longer extends our working hours due to our financial setbacks for months already. Surely, you know that we're considering to file bankruptcy, right?"
I was surprised because I don't know a thing about the bankruptcy let alone her lying to me about her overtime.
"Is boss there?" I heard some random staff ask the receptionist.
"Thanks." I said to her and walk my way to the exit but stopped when I heard her replied to the staff.
"Nah, boss is on leave too. As if the company ain't crumbling already." She scoffed.
My hand shakes and exited the premise. I sent a text to the office saying I have an emergency before trying to contact you for the nth time. My emotion is slowly rubbing in me, I lossen my tie. To no avail, I can't still contact you. Frustration slowly creeps in me. I drove home, my thoughts driving me crazy.
You said you're going to work yesterday but the thing is you filed for a leave since yesterday. You lied.
"She lied." I threw my briefcase without a care and crashed myself on the couch.
You've been working late recently, I can't even remember when it started but you lied. You're lying for some time now. Slowly, anger is penting up inside me. Inno Kei, your boss. He use to hit on you, is it only a coincidence he's on leave too?
I untangled the tie and whipped it on the floor. Unbuttoning my dress shirt because suddenly, I feel suffocated. I raked my hair, shaking my brain to reason out your action. I don't even want to think the worst. Because you're not like that but why does everything's falling into pieces. The possibility of you cheating on me, is no longer impossible.
The day went by, by me contacting your phone, I even called your family just to check but they don't know a thing. I even lied to them because I don't want them to worry. I called your best friend Kiyoko but she's not answering my call. I resorted into alcohol while waiting but still no traces of you.
The next day, I didn't go to work in case you come home. I tried to look to for you. Places where you like to go. Places I hope where you'd be. But still no you.
I don't want to think that you'd go to another man but I realize, these past few months after that incident. Everything changed, the cold shoulder, the emotionless responses, just everything. My chest starts to heave as I slowly see things clearer. Even if you do go for another man, I wouldn't blame you. There, I realize what truly is happening lately, how come I didn't see this sooner.
"Oh, God." I buried my face in my hands. Brimming tears of frustration, worry and sadness, consumed me. I don't want to lose you. It's all my fault. The day goes by, waiting for you to come home as I drown myself in alcohol and regret.
_________________________
3 days since you've been gone. I plan to stay home to wait again but my team called because the pitching for the new book is today, as much as I want to be alone and wait for you, I can't risk other people's job. So, I went to work, still thinking of you.
"Hey, Love. Please come home. Let's talk, please or just tell me you're fine. That'll be enough for me. I love you. I love you, please." I sent my 18th voicemail to her number. 115 missed call and 84 unseen messages, still not enough for you to come home.
_______
When I saw your shoes by the door, I don't know what to feel. Ecstatic? Anxious? I don't know. I quickened my phase inside our house. No signs of you in the living room and even in the kitchen. I went to our bedroom. My heart increased it's beat, nervousness is eating me the moment I saw the room empty but the closet was left ajar. I open it only to see most of your are clothes gone. My hand began to shake.
"Love?"
I went to the next room. My hand slowly reached for the knob. When was the last time I went inside this room? 3 months ago? I took a deep breath and open the door.
There I see you on the floor. Your body leaning on the crib. I felt my chest tighten and I took a step forward but you woke up. Fluttering your eyes open and snapped your head towards me. Your eyes widened in surprise. Your lips quiver.
"Keiji…" you call me breathlessly.
Why do you sound as if you're leaving me? I glance at your bag beside you. You followed my gaze and I heard you took a deep breath.
"Where were you?" I asked worriedly and took another step forward. You stood up.
"I…" You look on the floor looking for answers.
"I can't get a hold of you for 3 days. I was worried, Love." I enveloped you in my arms. Nourishing your scent that I miss for days, scent that I took advantage for months.
I hugged you tighter, feeling your warmth. Caressing your hair, letting you know how glad I am that you're back. You started to sob in my arms. After awhile you break off the hug and I swear I heard my heart break.
"Keiji," No, call me love.
"I waited for you for 3 days, where did you go? I got worried. I even went to places to look for you." I said pushing the stinging pain in my eyes.
"I was at Kiyoko-san's--"
"But I went to her apartment. She said you weren't there." I grab hold of her hand
"I told her to lie."
"I-Is there something you want to tell me? How come you didn't tell me that you're having problems with the company? When did you start keeping things from me?" I can no longer hide my frustration and pain.
She shrugged off my hand and took a step backward.
"I-how? How can I? I cannot even talk to you about our own problem. So tell me how, Keiji?" You said exasperatingly. Trying to conceal your emotions but everything can be seen in your eyes with welled up tears.
"Is that why?" I asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I-Is that why you went to ano--"
"Oh my god!" She scoff and laughed bitterly while tears stream down her face.
She lost it. She went back further in the room. Putting good distance between us.
"You actually thought I was with someone else!? Tell me!?" She challenged. My breath hollowed as I brushed my hair due to frustration. My other hand on my hip.
"What do you want me to do!? I came to your office and found out everything. That you're lying about your overtime and you filed for a leave when you didn't said a thing to me. You grown distant and cold the passed months--"
"Did you just realize that in the past 3 days that I was gone? You just suddenly notice, just now!?" I shut my mouth because she's right. I only took notice of everything, too late. She started to cry harder. I took a step closer to reach for her but she moved back. She's hurting so much.
"What I want you to do? I just want you to see me again. To talk to me again like we used too. I want you to look at me without hurting. Without pain."
I tried to call your name but you only shook your head.
"You waited for three days? I waited for six months! Ever since…" you choked on your tears.
"Ever since I lost the baby, I lost you too." She look at me in the eyes. I can no longer control my tears .
"The first three months was bearable, because I know we're both mourning but it seems that we never got the chance to go back to each other. We got lost. I lost my husband." You sobbed.
"I was scared. It was my fault that I can't provide for the both of you. That you needed to work too because my salary is not enough. I-I should have insisted you not to work but I didn't. Then we lost our baby. I saw you broke. It hurted me so much because there's nothing I can do to take the pain. I fought strong in front of you but by the end of the day, I'm so weak. That's why I pretended as if nothing happened because I don't want to make the same mistake. I worked hard for the promotion because I know that will help us a lot. That promotion, is enough for us. Even if you stop working. I-I... didn't know this was the consequence." I explained with tears and shaky breath. Feelings from losing our baby came back again. But this time it hits harder because I might lose you too.
"You are by my side but I still miss you everyday. You slowly fell out. I waited for you everyday, waiting for you to look at me with love again. Until one day, I realize that I can't continue like this anymore. It hurts me to see you but I can't even feel you. I can only take so much pain, love. That's why I stayed late outside drinking or I'll crash at Kiyoko-san's. I was hoping you'll come through and ask me but you never did. I don't know what to do anymore with our marriage." You broke down and fell on your knees.
"I have my fair share of regret, love. We both struggled. There was never a day passed without thinking of our angel. I thought losing you was my consequence because I failed to protect our baby." I rushed by your side and nestled you in my arms. We're both on the floor. I held you tighter than ever.
"No, don't say that. I don't want to lose you. I'm so sorry. It's not your fault, okay? I'm sorry, if I hurt you." I buried my face to your hair, until you tangled your arms to my waist and cried harder. I shifted our position and cradled you in my arms.
"I'm so sorry, love. I didn't mean to push you away. I neglected you all these time when you needed me the most. I'm so sorry. Please, don't leave me. I beg you." I cried as I held your head to my chest.
You shook your head and look up to me.
"I won't. I-I can't. I love you too much."
"I love you too." I said as I wipe your tears away. I held your face as I brushed your hair away from your face and tried to dry your face but you kept crying. I place a kiss on your forehead.
"I love you so much." Then kissed your lips and you hiccuped because of crying to much.
"Let's try again. Let's fix our marriage, hmm? Let me make it up to you."
You nodded and I carried you to our bed to tucked you in bed and hold you all night.

Just as Michael's about to answer their question, Jason's phone goes off. "Perfect timing," he mutters before going outside to take the call. "Jason Morgan."
"Mr. Morgan, it appears Mr. Renault is at the office demanding to speak with you. What should I do?" One of his employees informs him.
"Cyrus has my number. If he would like to schedule a meeting, tell him he can call me and we'll have one."
"I've already told him that and he won't agree to it."
Dammit. Peace in this town is fragile enough; the last thing they need is an angry Cyrus. He's been unstable as of late, not agreeing to this could lead to a gunfight. Well, that's actually to be expected. "We'll meet at the office in twenty minutes then. Tell him to call off his men, including Brando. Look around the perimeter and have the rest of the guards check to make sure that there's no one on the premises or within range of hitting someone."
"Yes sir," the employee agrees, hanging up the phone.
"Business stuff?" Willow asks cautiously. After all, this is the first time she's been in this situation.
"Yeah," Michael answers, sensing from the businesslike stance he's taken in their kitchen. "Let's go check on the kids."
They leave the room and instantly Carly asks, "What did he do?"
"Demanded we meet. I don't know why or what this is about, so please tell me you didn't do anything stupid that could cost the truce to be undone."
"I haven't done anything. I've considered it, but I haven't done anything yet," she tells him. "How long til the meeting?"
"I've gotta get going. You have to stay here, this doesn't concern you. Cyrus is looking for a fight and you'll give him one. He's looking for any reason to violate the truce and take me out," Jason informs her. "I mean it. No showing up."
"Is it a solo meeting?"
"Yes."
"You want me to sit here and list out the times he's tried to kill you this past year and a half? Jason, you can't got to a meeting alone. You'll get killed!" Carly exclaims.
"No I won't, Carly. I've got it handled, I told you," he says, glancing at his watch.
"Yes you will! You need to stop agreeing to these one on one meetings because one of these days he's going to get you killed and I won't be able to survive that!"
"I told you, I'm not getting killed!"
"Can you predict the future? No, you can't! I know you might want to go and have this meeting but you can't do it alone!"
"I'm going to the meeting, Carly. You are going to stay here with your kids, grandkids, and Willow," he says, voice unbudging. She's not going to win.
"Promise me you'll come back."
"Carly-"
"Promise me, Jason, or you're not going!"
"I promise."
"Fine, you can go," she surrenders, hugging him. "But be safe."
"As safe as I can be, meeting with him," he agrees.
"Alright, well you better go now or you're not going to be able to say goodbye to the kids."
He bids them all goodbye, hugs Carly again, and leaves for the meeting. His gun is on him, as is his cell phone. Though the usefulness of a cell phone is to be questioned when it's a mob meeting he's having. Not like he can exactly call the police if anything happens, they'd arrest him.
Arriving at the office, he senses that today's going to be a long day.
"Hey Harry, is it clear?"
"Yes sir."
"Alright, thanks," he says before walking into the office. "Cyrus. What's so urgent?"
"Well, Sonny's been gone a year now. I was hoping we could revisit us joining together for a way to continue the peace in this town," Cyrus answers.
"Like I told you the day you found out he was missing, that isn't happening. You're not going to run your product through this town and ruin it. This was Sonny's territory and if he's not dead and comes back, it'll be his again. We both agreed no drugs. It's not happening. Is that all?" Jason asks, bored.
"No, actually. I was wondering how Mrs. Corinthos is holding up. Given that this is the anniversary of losing her husband, I'd presume not well."
"None of your damn business."
"No need to get so defensive, I'm merely posing a question. Trying to make conversation."
"If you don't have anything related to business to discuss, my men will escort you out."
"Oh, but I doubt you will," Cyrus says, laughing evilly. "You'll be too dead to even have the chance to get me out of this room." He takes his gun from his pocket rather dramatically for Jason's taste and aims for him.
Drawing his gun himself, the now mob boss ducks, narrowly missing the bullet before firing his own, missing the other mobster by only a few inches. That was on purpose; a warning shot of sorts. "It never occurred to me," the ponytail clad man continues unaffected, "that you'd be so easy to take out. I mean, really. Your reputation is that you're businesslike and directly to the point, but then you've agreed to several meetings with me alone. I was planning on having some fairly difficult plans to kill you, but you've simply fallen into my lap. I do suppose I feel a bit bad, however, that Mrs. Corinthos will have to deal with you being dead as well."
There's a line you just don't cross in business, and that's been crossed. He remembers his promise to not die and snaps into action. "Fire that gun again and I hit you right between the eyes," Jason warns, setting himself up for his shot.
"I sense I've hit a nerve," Cyrus smiles, "mentioning her like that. Tell me, Mr. Morgan, has it ever occurred to you that you're the reason she even knows about this business? With you gone, I suppose she'll be taking it over. Though I don't doubt her, I do doubt her ability to properly run this business. It's doubtful that she'll even make it a few weeks before she's ki-"
Another warning shot goes from Jason's gun, this one only barely above his head. "Last warning, Cyrus. This isn't a game. She's barely involved in this business and you have no right to bring her up when this fight is between us. So drop the gun and get on the ground."
Chuckling as though he doesn't even really believe that he's about to be taken out, Cyrus stupidly continues, "I'll probably send one of my men to kill her, you know. Try to make it painless out of respect for her."
"Talking about me?" Carly asks, walking in with armed guards. She's got the worst timing.
"Yes I was, Mrs. Corinthos. How are you?"
"I'd be better if you were in a casket six feet under," she answers calmly. "Now, put your gun down before I kill you with my bare hands."
Where the fuck did she learn how to do that? He didn't teach her, neither did Sonny. Who did? Not the point, Carly isn't supposed to be here. She's now got the chance to be shot. That would kill him faster than the bullet wound he feels he could get.
"You heard her," Jason says. "Gun down, on the ground."
Turns out that's what needed to be done. The guards with guns pointed at his head doesn't hurt either, he's sure, but Cyrus finally gets on the ground and drops his gun.
"Good. Get Mrs. Corinthos out of here, now," he orders, to her complaints. "Carly, just go."
"I, personally, have nothing against her being here," Cyrus voices.
"You have no say." When Carly leaves, Jason calmly continues, "You mention her name again in front of me and I'll kill you. Talk about your plan to take me out again and you'll be dead. Nothing is changing. This is your last warning. Next time you try to kill me or someone I care about, you'll be dead quicker than you can even move from the scene. Get out."
Angrily, the ponytail clad man leaves, escorted by the guards. Jason then makes sure everyone knows to make sure there's no evidence of what happened, and that there's especially none Carly was ever there before he joins her in her car.
It's a quiet ride, with him firing off orders for his men and her pouting.
"I was right! He wanted you dead! You fell right into his trap!" She exclaimed when they walked into the living room of her house.
"No I didn't! Carly, I had it all under control!"
"Gun pointed at you, Jason! I walked in and there was a gun pointed at you!"
"I had mine pointed at him too! You can't walk into a gunfight!"
"Oh, but you can start one? You can get shot, I can't? Is that how this works?"
"The only reason you'd be shot in general is because of me, Carly! I introduced you to the business, I'm the reason you and Sonny got together, and I'm the reason you're still apart of it. I can deal with getting myself shot, I've survived other bullets before, but I can't deal with you getting shot!"
"I didn't!"
"Yeah, because I kicked you out of there!"
"I brought the guards, I was safe!"
"You walked into a gunfight when I told you it was the stupid thing to do! I told you not to go but you couldn't help yourself, could you, and you went to the meeting."
"You want me to tell you I was wrong and apologize? I'm not gonna do that! You could've been killed! God knows what Sonny's livelihood status is, but yours is alive. Alive, Jason! I'm not risking you dying, alright?"
"I've survived bullets before, I'd survive this one!"
"How do you know that? I need you to stay alive, so I don't care what your feelings are on the subject and I'm not apologizing! If I had to do it again and it was the only option, I'd go unarmed and alone. I would've been shot if it meant saving you from that! Cyrus wants you dead!"
"I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you died because of me! Your kids need their mother! Cyrus wants you dead too and I'll be damned if I let it happen."
"So what, Jason, you'll do the noble thing and die instead of me? That'll kill me. I couldn't breathe when we thought you were dead last time. Imagine how I'd be if I knew I was the one who caused it!"
"You're not dying!" He shouts back, but there's no edge to his tone anymore. He's less pissed. "Not when it's preventable. You're not getting shot either Carly. If I cause your death, I'll hate myself."
"And you think I won't hate myself if I cause yours?"
To be continued after midnight bc I have thing to add to my blog

Pitch: The Adventures of Danger Rabbit- Chapter 2 Friendly Friendly (part 1)
Long story short, my dad wasn't arrested. Ms. Harper made her displeasure quite clear as far as my new form was concerned, but I wasn't taken away. Because of my mistake, dad had a reputation for being a careless father, and I was seen as a delinquent. Teachers started watching our family like we were career criminals, but dad raised me to be a good kid.
Regardless of the truth, I had a reputation that stuck with me as I grew up. Even into my junior year of high school, kids thought I was bad news. It didn't help that I had the worst luck imaginable, unlike Mr. Nickels, who I still had yet to find. Trouble seemed to seek me out. Just the simple act of walking home from school was dangerous enough to warrant fear of chaos. Freak accidents were a norm, and they only fueled the fire when it came to the negative light everyone shined on me. Of course, my dad always had the worst end of the fiascos because he had to deal with the aftermath.
If I had any luck at all, it was spent when I had the fortune of finding my two best friends.
B James was a girl who moved to town after my accident. Her parents were professional magicians, so naturally, I tried to get in good with them. I had hopes of them helping me. It turns out I didn't have to work too hard. BJ was fascinated with my form and impressed with my ability to create my own magic. I told her I didn't mean to transform myself, but I don't think she cared. She wanted to make new spells like her parents, and I suppose she thought I could help her. She overlooked how the rest of the school avoided me, but that might have been easy, considering no one flocked to her lunch table any more than my own. Remember when I said creating new magic was dangerous, well, BJ didn't care. We hadn't even graduated high school yet, but she'd created more spells than a person could count. It's important to keep in mind most of those spells had adverse effects or didn't do what they were meant to, but they did something.
My friend Wesson, a satyr I met in my freshman year of high school, didn't use magic at all. To be fair Fae, because of their natural abilities, didn't need magic as much as humans did. Even I had natural powers after my transformation like super hearing and invisibility. Which I'm sure is how Mr. Nickels managed to avoid capture for so long if he also possessed the same abilities. Wes being a satyr, was super fast and super strong, among other things, whether he appeared to be or not. We became friends after I tried to join the school's Creature club. There weren't many Fae that went to our school, so the club was meant to be a way of letting them all meet one another. Unfortunately, when I tried to join the club, someone pointed out I was born human, and that I was only what I was because I cursed myself. I couldn't join the club. Technically they weren't allowed to exclude anyone, but I thought it best to pick my battles wisely and let it go. Wes, being the best guy in the world, found me the next day and told me he thought the other kids were dicks for not letting me join the club. From that day on, I couldn't remember a time I couldn't fall back on the friendship Wes and I had.
It was two weeks till summer break. All of the ends of the year testing was out of the way, so everyone was waiting for the school year to come to an end. That Friday afternoon, I decided to walk BJ home. Despite my being close to Wes and BJ both, they never seemed to like one another. Every day I'd have to make a conscious decision whether to hang out with BJ, who loved playing magician and getting into trouble, or Wes, who was basically the brother I never had. BJ won that day because Wes had a meeting with the principal.
BJ should have taken the bus home, but I guess that would have been less time she got to work out new magic with me. We took a lot of back roads that day that eventually spit us out into the Dead Woods. It was the town's biggest forest, and it sat in the middle of everything. We learned in history class that old settlers named it the Dead Woods because back in the early days, when people were still coming up with most of the modern magic, they had to go far away from homes and buildings so bad magic wouldn't destroy anything. A lot of people died out there. Despite the bad history, it was a beautiful place as long as you knew where you were going.
"So there's this summer internship I read about," BJ said as we walked under branches while leaves crumbled under our footsteps.
"What kind of internship?" I asked.
We stopped walking so she could take her spell book out of her bag. The pages of her hand made spiral held weight and took time to flip through.
"For magicians. I thought you might want to go for it," she added.
"You want me to be a magician?"
"You created a working transmutation spell when you were 11."
I laughed at her, calling it a "working spell."
"Yea, and I've been trying to undo it ever since," I said with my amused tone still vocal.
"I could help you."
"I don't want to be a magician," I said in my most definitive voice possible.
"But I do."
I took a few steps away. I didn't want to stand too close while her book was out. Some of the stuff in that thing didn't need words to be activated. As she flipped through the pages, there was a danger similar to throwing a grenade into a kid's birthday party. Pages glowed and faded as her hands turned them over. I'm not sure how she managed to carry something around like that without constantly hurting herself.
"Then you should do it," I said as I crossed my arms and leaned against a tree.
She came near, and I knew to expect puppy dog eyes to fluff some kind of catch. That's what people do when they want something
"I need you."
I asked, "why," but she turned away.
"I need your spell," I thought she said, but I couldn't make out her words for sure, and with my big ears, that meant she was really quiet.
"What?" I asked.
"I need your spell."
I stood up straight.
"The spell that gave me fur and left with only eight fingers," I said before I continued with, " the spell that made my feet too big to wear shoes and ears big enough to hear my dad when he gets off at night."
"I have to submit a working spell to be considered."
"Then use one of yours," I said.
"None of mine work."
"What about the one you use to change your hair color?"
"It blinds anyone who sees me cast it."
"Then just use my spell, you don't need me for that, I wrote the words in some book, and I'll give it to you."
I wanted to get off the subject. Anyone who knew me knew how long I tried to find a cure for my curse. After years of turning over stones to no avail, of course, I gave up hope. That's not to say I didn't wish and dream for a way to change back, but being a bit of a pessimist meant I couldn't help but see the uneasy reality of how unlikely a cure was.
"It wouldn't be right to take credit for your work."
"But, it's alright to strong-arm your friend into an internship that'll take up our entire summer?" I didn't mean to sound nearly as argumentative or sarcastic as I must have at that moment, but it came out that way.
"There's a chance we won't even get it," she said, basically pleading with me at that point.
"If I say yes, will you leave me out of whatever experiments you're about to do?"
"But I had something special planned for today."
"That's my price."
"Deal, but you have to stick around to watch."
"In case something goes wrong?"
"I didn't say that."
"You didn't have to," I replied.
We exchanged a mutual grin before she adjusted her glasses and finally flipped around in her book to find the newly crafted spells. We spent most of the afternoon in the woods. BJ wrote a spell for growing plants faster, but it made anything made of wood burst into flames, including all the papers in my backpack. She tried to put out the fires with another spell meant to create rain clouds, but it summoned a swarm of butterflies that flew into the flames. Needless to say, they all died. They died quickly, but at least the fires went out.
By that time, it was getting dark.
"We should get moving," I said as I picked our bags off the ground burnt as they might have been.
"We will never speak of what happened here to anyone, right?"
"Like always," I said with a chuckle before handing BJ her ruined bag.
We started on our way out of the woods.
"Do your parents know you're applying for this internship?" I asked.
"Not yet."
"Don't you think they should know?"
"I'll tell them once I, " she started to say before I cut her off with, "did you hear that?"
"Hear what," she asked.
There was a sound coming from the bushes ahead of us. It was too big to be a cat, dog, or rabbit.
"Stand back," I said as I put my arm in front of BJ.
"Is someone there," I called out into the distance, but no reply was returned.
Only the rustling of the bushes broke the silence as something or someone came near. It was close. There was a momentary pause of nothing but the bugs around us falling silent, and then whatever it was lunged out at me.
It was Wes. He made me fall backward and rip the arm of my button-down shirt.
"Shit," I yelled out.
He tried to catch my arm on my way down, but he was too slow.
"Sorry, dude," Wes said with a laugh as he helped me to my feet.
"What are you doing out here?" BJ asked in a tone more annoyed than me, but I was the one with the ripped shirt.
"I need Pitch."
"Well, he's walking me home from school."
"Schools been out for 3 hours now, and you know how to get home."
"You want me to walk by myself," BJ asked.
"No one ever offers to walk me home, and we're the same age," Wes said sarcastically.
I cut in, "Wes, what did you need my help with?"
"I need your ears," he said.
"Let me get BJ home, and then I'll swing by your place."
Neither of them was even looking at me anymore; they were staring one another down.
"Alright, just make sure 'Bug Burner' isn't with you."
"You saw that!" BJ exclaimed.
"I'll be there, alone," I said as I held BJ back from Wes.
A few uneasy, and unwelcoming glances were exchanged before we took to our separate ways.
"I don't know why you hang out with him," BJ argued.
"Wes is cool," I said.
"Wes is just short of being a toddler. He doesn't use magic."
"I don't use magic."
"That's different; you can't afford it."
"That hurt," I said.
"You know what I mean."
