So I still have to fix up the next part for New Year's Concert. So... time for Dark Cacao and Sablé shipping moment!! (This ship is about to live rent-free in my head completely)
*The scene is set in the Dark Cacao Kingdom. Dark Choco, the Chess Choco twins, and Caramel Arrow were walking around the Citadel. The two small Cookies were chasing each other in between Caramel Arrow and Dark Choco.*
Caramel Arrow: Children. Please be careful. The King doesn't want you to ruin your clothes before dinner.
Chess Choco: Mama will be joining us? Will mother be joining us?
Dark Choco: Mother? Who are you talking about?
Caramel Arrow: Mother? Do you mean Lady Sablé of the Crème Republic?
Dark Choco: I remember her. Father has been getting close to her.
Chess Choco: Yes! Papa and Mama have been together a lot! Yes, father and mother have been spending time together.
*Dark Choco thought for a second before turning toward Caramel Arrow.*
Dark Choco: Is Lady Sablé here right now?
Caramel Arrow: Yes, she's in the east wing. Why?
Dark Choco: ...*whispers* I have been hanging out with Red Velvet for too long...*turns to the Chess Choco twins* Would you like father and Lady Sablé to around every day?
Chess Choco: Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes please.
Dark Choco: Then I have a plan.
*An hour later, Dark Cacao was walking to the west balcony. He had a letter in his hand, knowing it was from Pawn White. It said to come play in the west balcony before dinner. By the time he reached the balcony doors, he could smell...food?*
Dark Cacao: Hm? What is this? Why does it smell like food?
*Dark Cacao opened the doors and was shocked to see a picnic set up there. Dark Choco and Chess Choco were finishing up some last few touches.*
Dark Cacao: W...what is this?
Dark Choco: *looks up* Father. We were setting up a picnic.
Dark Cacao: A picnic? We do not have space for the twins to play.
Chess Choco: No papa! Not for us! No father. It's not for us.
Dark Cacao: Then why-?
*Before he could finish his sentence, Caramel Arrow appeared with Sablé right behind her. But what took his breath away was the fact that Sablé was wearing a traditional Cacaoian dress.*
Dark Choco: Lady Sablé, welcome.
Chess Choco: Hi mama! Welcome mother.
Sablé: Oh my. What is this?
Caramel Arrow: This would be the Dark Cacao Kingdom's version of a picnic. It is a bit chilly but it still can be a lovely date.
Sablé: D-date?!
Dark Choco: Yes. We believe you two should have some time alone. Since you two have only been spending time together with Chess Choco. So have fun you two. We'll be off.
*Before Dark Cacao could say anything, the four disappeared inside, leaving the king and the councilwoman on the balcony. There was an awkward silence before Dark Cacao noticed Sablé sat down and was shivering. He sat next to her and pulled her close, making sure she was underneath his coat. This caused Sablé to blush.*
Sablé: Oh my! Thank you, King Dark Cacao.
Dark Cacao: *shyly looks away while blushing* Please...just Dark Cacao.
*Sablé smiles and leans into Dark Cacao. Both older Cookies enjoy their quiet dinner, watching the snow fall.*

Okay literally no one asked but as a former Hobbit movie hater who has since experienced character growth, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on the movies on my gay little blog.
Listen. There are legit reasons to be critical of these movies. They were made on a rushed timeline, at time where CGI overuse was the thing and there are definitely unnecessary moments. But despite those issues, these movies still have a lot of heart and character and some really wonderful acting! To compare them to LOTR, is unfair I think because LOTR was such an unimaginable success and I truly believe no other movie franchise can do what those movies did. To expect the Hobbit movies to be the same caliber considering the behind the scenes drama and massive difference in timeline is just not it.
Truly I think that the Hobbit could have been much more than it was and it’s sad to see the amazing moments and realize that we could have had movies that were maybe closer to the level of LOTR, but that doesn’t take away from all of the great things that the movies gave us! Despite what he may be like irl, Martin Freeman was a great young Bilbo, Richard Armitage was insanely good as Thorin (despite the change in age) and the other dwarf actors brought a great sense of loyalty, brotherhood and shared loss to their roles. The music is still dope as hell and there are some beautiful shots despite all the CGI.
This is way too long and I’ve not said anything that hasn’t been said before but honestly, I’m so glad that I stopped hating on these movies and have seen the special things about them. Nothing will ever compare to LOTR, but that doesn’t make these movies bad. They’re fun, they’re emotional, they have great characterization and it’s super valid to enjoy them.
Final gay thoughts because I’m obligated, but I struggle with people who argue against Bagginshield with the whole “why does everyone have to make everything gay?” thing. Because Hollywood is so deeply homophobic that we see so little genuine queer representation, so forgive us for enjoying the chemistry we find and making it our own since our society gives us breadcrumbs. If you’re not into Bagginshield, totally legit and fine, but don’t hate on other people (especially queer people) trying to find some romantic love in media that we enjoy. Also no one can convince me that Richard Armitage wasn’t at least somewhat intentionally putting his queer energy into this role, I will die on this hill.
Anyway, TL;DR there’s no shame in liking or loving the Hobbit movies despite their faults and there are lots of things to appreciate and enjoy and I for one, am glad to leave my LOTR purist hater days behind me

Not to be shippy on main but why does everyone go in for tsundere fx and "nuisance to society" jy when their every interaction screams the opposite. Fx is logical and realistic enough to be more than well-acquainted with how she feels and is extremely devoted to her work (and subsequently the general) and on the opposite hand jy is incredibly selfless and caring towards her (literally the first time they met he told her he'd take the blame when she suggested they frickin commit a war crime in order to win the Abundance War). Like yeah teasy jy is amusing or whatever but realistically that wouldn't be in the droves y'all think it would and fx would probably laugh at it the few times it might happen more than she'd get all tsundere-y about it
She's not emotional. That's the difference. She doesn't have emotional outbursts. She's extremely calm and rational and she's dealt with jy for more than long enough to become extremely used to his antics and she wouldn't take them nearly so seriously.
They're PINERS. They're pining and it's obvious. They watch each other from across the room when they think the other isn't looking and they leave each other nice little notes at work because both of them overwork themselves and need breaks. I am COOKING here

Ok I may be over analyzing this (I most definitely am) but I think the whole “It’s locked, you got a key?” “We don’t need a key. We’re firefighters.” and then Eddie kicking in the door has to be a metaphor for something bigger right? Like Buck and Tommy’s whole relationship is what got Buck to “unlock” this new side of himself (his bisexuality) and Tommy took a step back to wait for Buck to “be ready” with himself. Overall, their whole relationship started out a bit hesitant and gentle (not really sure how else to put it).
But I think Eddie is just gonna get smacked in the face with his feelings somehow, or somethings going to happen to Eddie and Buck is gonna get smacked in the face with his feelings. Either way, I think that while Buck and Tommy’s relationship arc is more sort of a nonchalant going slow type of thing, something dramatic is gonna kick in that door that leads to Buddie and I think it’s gonna be something that happens to Eddie. Maybe I’m crazy though I guess I just have to wait until it happens.

TTPD at it's core is about the slow, miserable death of a life you've imagined with a man you desperately wanted to be the love of your life and then the rush of a toxic situationship with a man more in love with wasting your time and the idea of you than he is WITH you, while you project your hopes and fears onto him because you're terrified no one will ever truly love you.

… I want to look way too deep into this
Tumblr media
I choose to believe that the parallel is intentional. It is beautiful imagery for Marcille to have grown into a reflection of her mother: acceptance and care. I believe that this scene is meant to show how:
1) Marcille is something like a mother figure to Izutsumi, something supported by the relationship chart where Marcille think of her as a “kitten” and how Izutsumi gravitates towards her and is the most comfortable around her, and with their convos of Marcille teaching Izutsumi ways of life etc etc. Marcille enjoys sleeping besides her and giving her cuddles, giving her affection while somewhat taking responsibility for her, she looks after Izutsumi and such. And perhaps Marcille’s general motherly demeanor is what attracts Izutsumi to her in the first place, since we’ve seen that is what Izutsumi craves above all and we’ve never really been given an explanation for the special attachment Izutsumi reserved for her. It’s also notable that Izutsumi has never really had any proper parental figure in her past as well. Everyone in the party acknowledges how Izutsumi seems much younger than them, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) Marcille has somewhat made her peace with people living at a faster pace, not only showcased with the parallel but also with the words she says to Izutsumi: she tells her to take care of herself, says what habits she ought to take up for herself, since she won’t be there to remind her constantly. Throughout the series we see Marcille’s habit of fussing over those she cares about, especially Falin, where she forcibly takes care of them and inspects if they’ve been taking care of themselves, feeling rather overprotective and controlling as we’ve seen with her reaction to “Laios taking Falin away”, feeling highly stressed and outraged that Falin got separated from her and incredibly worried about how Falin was doing during this. Thus, Marcille telling someone to take care of themselves is her entrusting the person with their own health and accepting that she may not be able to hover over them for as long as they live. It is a huge show of growth, even if it seems like such a trivial and small thing at first!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marcille has always had a caretaker nature and role in many of her relationships (not only in the present but her past with her father), also reflected with how she’s the healer of the party and as such also casually gives everyone caring touches, she has a certain motherly warmth coupled with the bossy and caring strictness often associated with mothers, also being a voice of reason/common sense often times. But I think this scene and parallel was ultimately meant to, as a whole, show how Marcille has grown more mature. Not necessarily less afraid of loss, but ready to accept that she can’t control or protect everything, and thus ready to let go and ready to let people be happy their own way, even if it’s away from her, or short lived from her perspective.
BUT ALSO IT MIGHT BE A HINT THAT MARCILLE IS GONNA REFLECT HER MOTHER IN ANOTHER WAY: BY BECOMING AN ADVISOR IN A HUMAN ROYAL COURT YOOOO (#LaiosFreeMarcille #Don’tBreakUpTheBlondTrio)

I'm definitely kicking the hornets nest with this one but I always thought it was weird how Marcelines "fallen hero" characterization wasn't really utilized... like at all throughout the show.
Marceline is mostly defined by these characters: Simon, her father, The Vampire King and Princess Bubblegum, with PB and Simon taking the forefront.
Which I thought was weird since PB isn't defined by her relationship with Marceline or any other character. PB gets to exist outside of bubbline and other characters while Marceline doesn't.
And... I honestly dont know why that is, other than the writers just don't like Marceline as much as Princess Bubblegum. I don't think they hate her, but they would rather write PB episodes than Marceline episodes. PB is a more interesting and fun character to write for them. They also need to keep up the illusion she's just as bad as Princess Bubblegum by... not actually making Marceline as bad as Princess Bubblegum. Or really doing anything with Marceline other than using her to develop Simon, making her a depressed goth baddie, or creating Bubbline ship fuel.
Yes, I still will not forgive the show for straight up saying Bubblegums shirt [the one Marceline gave her] held more sentimental value than Hambo. Ah yes... the shirt Bubblegums ex gave her holds sooo much more sentimental value compared to the doll Marcelines beloved father figure gave her when she was literally a defenseless child in a post apocalyptic wasteland.
Can ya tell which character they like more?
Anyways...
People usually reference "It Came from The Nightosphere" as evidence of Marceline being as bad as PB but: She didn't summon her father to Ooo - Finn did. Therefore, that was FINN'S mess to clean up and not Marcelines.
The only time she really goes out of her way to mess with people is when she's being an asshole to Finn and Jake in earlier seasons.
Oh right, and using Finn to get back at PB that one time. But other than that - Marcy hasn't done anything thats puts her on par with a dictator.
Unlike PB who will literally gaslight a lemon child into cleaning up a mess she created... or how she would rather kill an entire squad of sentient robot guards for being too violent rather than like... idk... train them to become less violent... Or how literally anything that comes from PB's DNA turns out to be straight up evil... Or how she will perform child friendly lobotomies on her people while having the audacity to say how some people are just built different...
The point is Marcy is definitely not a "good" person, but she's not on that "literal fascist with a god complex" type of shit like PB is.
Another way they maintain this illusion is by separating Marceline and Finn, because if they got more episodes together then you'd have to address Marcelines "fallen hero" characterization. They're not going to address this part of Marcelines character because they were having a grand time making PB into a fascist. So they can't make Marceline anymore sympathetic than she already is. Remember, Marceline is supposed to be as monstrous as PB is.
This is why Marcy doesn't have any episodes with Finn post "Into the Nightosphere" and why we don't get any Finn and Marcy episodes until... [checks notes] Stakes... and even then those arent Finn and Marcy episodes. Like they only time we see them hang out together is when they make a cameo in Dark Purple.
I'm not counting Bad Little Boy as a Finn and Marcy episode because it's more of a Marceline introspection episode focusing on her feelings for Finn.
But yeah i think this show is funny for completely neglecting to make Marcy just as bad as PB is. Ah yes, she is just as PB because Marcy... [checks notes] has depression. Being depressed makes ya just as bad as a dictator dont cha know...
It's also funny how they want me to think Bubblegum isn't as bad as Ashe even though theyre literally the same character - they're both ancient beings with god complexes LMAO.

Honestly looking at the PJO fandom I realized a thing.
Whenever I see a post talking about/enjoying a non canon ship, there’s usually one person or more saying “Uhmmm, [insert canon ship with character(s)] 🔛🔝” and I get it, sometimes a canon ship is your go-to. It’s canon and usually very sweet and healthy with the PJO series.
But one thing people need to understand is that fandom is about everything about its material, canon AND fanon!
Ship those characters! Make that character AroAce! Make Percy a transgirl or genderfluid! Indulge in a certain rare pair or even a common ship! Not everything has to be completely canon if you write about it/draw it. That’s what fandom is for.
Fandom is for the fans to make things they enjoy and stuff they wish happened in the material, or they don’t even wish it happened in the material and just want to write about it! It’s really just fictional stuff, it isn’t gonna hurt anybody.
But I’m well aware that boundaries are different, what I might consider a harmless ship might be something someone considers erasing a part of a character’s development with their canon partner.
But what I’m getting at is please for the love of Rick Riordan just don’t interact with a thing you don’t like that isn’t harming anyone and is just fun for the person/people doing it, this implies to all fandoms.
I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense since the characters never interacted that much/at all. What’s the point of shipping something if it’s revolving around the same pairing over and over again?
It doesn’t matter if it’s something as bizarre as ShowTime from TADC, or Lillow from TOH, or Percico from PJO, or even the animatronics from Sister Location. It’s 👏 Just 👏 A 👏 Dam 👏 Ship 👏
Even if you were to continuously harass the content creators you see for them, somebody is still gonna do it. No way of preventing it no matter how hard you try. So just let people indulge with their silly little fictional pairing that isn’t canon, and you can move along your merry way with your canon silly little fictional pairing.
TLDR: Let people ship non canon things if it isn’t doing harm, even if said characters are already in a canon relationship. It will happen even if you harass people for it.

Reader's Request #3!
This one is for Goss, who doesn't currently use tumblr and messaged me on discord:
I don't have access to my Tumblr acct so can I just humbly request a Sam & Seb childhood friends to lovers with mutual pining thing? Can be sfw or not, dealer's choice. literally anything else is fine, I just want at least one of them rethinking their entire childhood and life when they realize the feelings they feel have actually not been platonic this whole time. (If you're still open and willing to do requests, I will not be offended if you ignore this)
The Sunshine of Your Smile
Sam has always been able to cheer Sebastian up when he's down. From when they were little kids, to teenagers, to adults, there's something about Sam's smile that makes Sebastian feel happy. It's because they're best friends, and for no other reason, right?
CW: language
Sambastian nation, this one's for you!
