So I wanted to share my ios theme that I just set up. I haven’t done any ios themes since when ios 16 first came out with the feature. Then I got tired of each app opening shortcuts every time. Luckily it’s been updated so I sat down and took the couple hours it took to do this and it looks nice af. I still plan to do a few more to cycle through like a green one since it’s my favorite color, a cinnamoroll one since that’s one of my special interests, a manga aesthetic one, maybe a Pokémon one if I can make it look aesthetically pleasing since Pokémon is my #1 special interest and has been for years, a witchy/pagan one since I’m a pagan witch ofc, maybe a StrayKids one since they’re my number one favorite K-pop group of all time (I’ve been with them since pre-debut when Hellevator came out), And maybe a couple others I’m not sure yet. So my next post will be the first and current ios theme I made and have set on my phone.

that ask was rude of me, i should've just blocked you instead of telling you about it, i'm sorry. i'm aroace and sex+romance repulsed, and i guess i thought alastor was gonna be something i could enjoy for once like everyone else gets to without feeling like i'm intruding on a conversation i have no right to be part of. i'm on ios so i can't use browser extensions to actually get rid of all the alastor ship posts like i want, and i'm not sure my problem even has a solution short of just giving up trying, because so far i have found exactly zero blogs that are 1.) still active at all, 2.) still post about Hazbin, 3.) aren't actually 12 years old, and 4.) don't post about fucking Alastor ships. i got so excited seeing such good, recent art i haven't nuked yet considering how old every other post i can still see is, and i'm not kidding when i say i sent that ask through tears. it was rude and unacceptable either way, and i'm sorry.
i've blocked over 200 different people and i'm not exaggerating that number even a little bit. i would rather put a gun to my head and pull the trigger myself than see them so much as breathe next to each other ever again. i am so. so so so so so sick of searching and searching and searching and finding nothing.
the thing i've learned from alastor's aroace representation is that not only is the world as a whole not made to accommodate me, fandom space isn't either. i am an alien on a planet i was never made to fit into, and i don't even get to escape that through fiction like everyone else does. no amount of filtering and blocking and searching will bring into existence a community for me that simply does not exist, and it is futile for me to try. that's what this fandom has taught me.
i think the chances of me sticking around in this fandom are slim, so at least it won't be an issue for anyone else anymore. i think being excluded from conversations about an aroace character sting a lot more than just not being represented at all to be honest.
Okay, listen.
First of all, Alastor is officially an Ace, NOT an aroace. That means he can still be interested in any romantic things or finding a couple. No one is stopping you from seeing him exclusively as an aroace. But shaming people who don't share your point of view is a bad idea.
Secondly, I am an aroace artist myself. Romantic and sexual themes are virtually non-existent in my art. I can joke about it, but almost all of my drawings explore completely different things. And you come to me and try to talk about how hard it is to feel socially comfortable being an aroace? I understand your worries, but, again, trying to shame other people because they don't share your point of view is NOT a healthy coping mechanism.
Third, I have done THREE drawings in all my time that include a romanticized Alastor. Two of them were collabs, and the third was asked to be drawn by people. And these three drawings made you give up on my art, which you said you really liked?
The community is too heavily oriented towards romantic and sexual themes, it's true. People like us are often uncomfortable in that environment, that's also true. But aroace people can't just come in and ban others from having fun just because we don't find that fun or interesting.
Man, I'm not even Alastor's artist! What the kind of Alastor shipper am I? And you picked me out of a thousand people to block? Oh my God, that's as funny as it is sad.
In case you haven't looked at my art, I am a Lucifer artist. I very rarely draw Alastor, simply because I don't find him interesting enough. And because of that, I find it so funny to be labeled an “Alastor shipper”

I was reading an essay of greek and roman mythology and, when it talk about rape, it said that in those times the interpretion of rape in myths was for encourage the virility, as a victory, like... Masculine won over feminine, and it was viewed as something good. But as far as i know, rape was bad viewed by the law, so i don't think it was a victory's symbol, or a man vs woman (again, and i hate that interpretion of Greek mythology) I know rape is a delicate topic and i would understand if you don't want to answer, but i wanted to know how the greeks (and romans) women viewed those stories. I mean, if i, as a woman, read a story of a god that i worship violently raped a poor girl, i inmedialty abandom it and, in a very excessive thing, burn the temples... So how the women interpreted those stories and still respected those deities.
Yeah, that interpretation of mythology always rubs me the wrong way too. It’s such a modern, overly simplistic way to frame ancient stories, as if everything was just men vs. women, and that’s it. The truth is, ancient people had a much more complex relationship with myths, and they didn’t necessarily take them at face value the way we do now.
For Greek and Roman women, these myths weren’t about celebrating sexual violence or glorifying "masculine victory" (which sounds like a weird, modern lens to impose on them). Instead, myths were a reflection of how unpredictable and dangerous life could be—especially for women, who had fewer rights and protections. But that didn’t mean they saw it as something to admire or encourage. Instead, they found ways to relate, interpret, and sometimes even push back against these stories.
For example, a lot of Greek women turned to deities like Artemis and Hecate, who represented female autonomy and protection. And we know that in real life, women had their own rituals and spaces where they sought justice and support—like the cult of Demeter and Persephone, which was hugely important to women. Even mythological figures who suffered, like Io or Callisto, weren’t just seen as victims; their stories often carried themes of endurance, transformation, and even divine justice later on.
Also, mythology wasn’t scripture. Worshippers weren’t necessarily like, “Oh, Zeus did this, so that’s good and normal.” They could still respect and fear the gods while recognizing that some stories were warnings rather than role models. Even in ancient plays, like Euripides’ *Hippolytus*, you see a lot of frustration with how gods treat mortals.
So yeah, ancient women weren’t just blindly accepting these myths as moral lessons. They had their own perspectives, their own ways of engaging with these stories, and sometimes even used them to challenge the very ideas that made them uncomfortable.

ANTÔNIO CARLOS GOMES
@princesssarisa @themousefromfantasyland @obufalo @the-blue-fairie @tamisdava2 @moonbeamlightning
Antônio Carlos Gomes was born in Campinas on 11 July, 1836, and from an early age, he showed an interest in music, encouraged by his father, Manuel José Gomes, who was also a musician. As a young man, he divided his time between working as a tailor and studying music.
youtube
At the age of 15, he began composing waltzes, polkas, and quadrilles. By the time he turned 18, he had gained recognition with the composition of his first mass, the Missa de São Sebastião.
youtube
This work, that he dedicated to his father, was imbued with mysticism.
In 1857, he released A Cayumba, one of the first classical pieces to incorporate rhythms from African dances into the structure of a ballroom polka.
When he was still young, he moved to Rio de Janeiro to study at the Imperial Conservatory of Music, where he was mentored by renowned masters such as Francisco Manuel da Silva, the composer of the Brazilian National Anthem.
In 1861, he premiered his first major work, A Noite do Castelo, at the Lyrico Fluminense Theater, based on the work of Antônio Feliciano de Castilho.
Carlos Gomes was acclaimed by an enthusiastic crowd, and Emperor Dom Pedro II, also impressed by the young composer’s success, honored him with the Imperial Order of the Rose.
Carlos Gomes’s talent quickly captivated the court. In 1863, he presented his second opera, Joana de Flandres, with a libretto by Salvador de Mendonça, which also achieved great success.
In recognition of his talent, he was selected to receive a scholarship to study in Europe, funded by the National Lyric Opera Company as part of a contract with the Imperial Government.
It is said that Dom Pedro II would have preferred Carlos Gomes to study in Germany, where the maestro, Richard Wagner was prominent, but the Empress, Dona Teresa Cristina, a Neapolitan, suggested Italy instead.
Under Pedro II’s patronage, he was admitted to the Milan Conservatory, where, in 1866, he graduated as a master and composer, earning the highest praise from critics and professors alike.
He lived in Milan, but he never forgot Brazil. He was looking for inspiration for a work that would firmly establish his reputation when one afternoon in 1867, while walking through Piazza del Duomo, he heard a boy shouting, “Il Guarany! Il Guarany! Storia interessante dei selvaggi del Brasile!”
The poor Italian translation of José de Alencar’s novel piqued the maestro’s interest and at that moment, the idea for his most famous work was born.
The libretto, in Italian, was written by Antonio Scalvini and Carlo D’Ormeville. The opera is important as it was the first Brazilian opera to be acclaimed outside Brazil.
O Guarani is revered for its rich orchestration, inspired melodies, and integration of elements of Brazilian Indigenous music, solidifying its reputation as a unique work in the operatic repertoire.
The opera followed a contemporary trend in Europe of curiosity about foreign peoples and customs.
O Guarani premiered at Teatro Alla Scala in Milan in 1870. Giuseppe Verdi, who had been an inspiration to the young Carlos Gomes, is said to have remarked that evening: “Questo giovane comincia dove finisco io!” (“This young man begins where I leave off!”). Its overture was later used as the theme for the radio program A Voz do Brasil.
youtube
After the end of the Monarchy, the government of the newly established Republic offered Carlos Gomes the sum of 20,000 réis to compose a new national anthem. However, the maestro refused out of respect for the deposed emperor, his friend and patron, who was in exile at that time.
In April 1896, already gravely ill, Carlos Gomes returned to Brazil and took up the role of director at the Carlos Gomes Conservatory in Belém do Pará. He passed away shortly afterwards, on 16 September.
The maestro is the patron of seat number 15 at the Brazilian Academy of Music and his name was inscribed in the Livro dos Heróis e Heroínas da Pátria on 26 December, 2017.
Carlos Gomes’s legacy was recognized by UNESCO in 2017 when his work was included in the International Register of the Memory of the World (MOW) Program. For all these reasons, Carlos Gomes is one of the most honored musicians in Brazil.
youtube
In 1959, at the suggestion of the baritone, Paulo Fortes, a proposal was put forward to place a statue of Brazilian composer Carlos Gomes in front of the Rio do Janeiro Municipal Theater, replacing the statue of Frédéric Chopin, which had been placed there in 1939.
The monument was intended to mark the beginning of the 1960 national opera season. The statue was unveiled on 16 January, 1960 and was funded by the Secretariat of Transportation and Public Works of the Federal District and installed by the engineer, Elsa Osborne.
The monument is a replica of a statue created by Rodolfo Bernardelli and installed in Largo do Carmo in Campinas, the maestro’s hometown. Bernardelli depicted Carlos Gomes at the end of a performance, signaling the orchestra to be silent for the audience to applaud.
Interestingly, inside the Municipal Theater, there is a bronze bust of Carlos Gomes, also sculpted by Bernardelli.
It is in the hall leading to the first-floor seating area. There is another bust in his honor on Paquetá Island, as well as a theater named after him located in Praça Tiradentes.
The location of Carlos Gomes’s statue in Cinelândia, an iconic center of cultural life in Rio de Janeiro, emphasizes the impact of his work, the significance of his contribution to Brazilian culture, and his recognition both in Brazil and abroad.

25 and 49!
25: What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write?
Notion and Bear (app) for note-taking 🙈✨ I use Notion to store everything related to this one TWST x OC fic I'm writing because of the heavy OC lore, history, and conlang construction. For general ideas, idea archival, other worldbuilding stuff etc I use Bear. I also use my default iOS notes app for random stuff.
I also like to study other people's writing styles, so I sometimes have other AO3 work tabs open of fics I admire or want to reference as a "vibe" to see go over their form structure semantics/pragmatics etc.
I don't listen to music much when I write but when I do, I just use Spotify. I'm the type of person to draw and write in absolute silence lol
49: What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
My grand finals debate script
My unit 4 english language essay on child language acquisition
JKJK uhhh I've honestly been holding off writing a bit recently because I'm locking in for my public exams.
I mean I've got Lustlove CH2 and these other two TWST crossover fics on the burner. Stuff in my Bear app for future penning also includes OC stuff for my BTHB and plannings for a HaruTora fic for my friend and as Haruka's birthday gift ... tho it's r18 and not rlly palatable to most audiences because of um. Well. Certain 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 themes 💔💔
I'll drop a really dark CH2 excerpt of LL!Torao having a horrible time below the cut tho. Yay ❤️ (tw explicit s/h)

web of wyrd: ios 18 is coming to us september 18
supposedly that is the release date, so i want to deep dive on the 18 (moon) energy and how the themes can influence technology. in this case phones.
illusions and uncertainty
there are likely to be features that are not immediately clear in terms of performance (the terms of agreement / acknowledgements - might be questionable and a lot of people won't know it because we tend to just click through all that). alternatively, a lot of people may feel uncertain about the changes and need time to adapt to it - people might avoid updating to ios 18 all together.
hidden features
its likely that this update has features they won't/haven't even mention in the promo. a lot of setting stuff might need your attention - so look for someone who is well informed about what should be on in settings and what should be off. don't be afraid to ask a search what some setting jargon means.
intuition
its likely an intuitive update - you might not need much time to get back to your daily functionality. it will be trial and error to discover that "oh yea that feature is there" or "oh yea that feature changed" when the update happens.
emotional impact, dreams, and subconscious
the journal app is definitely coming this update... but we might see something change with sleep tracking, mediation, etc. also in terms of emotional impact, it's likely to cause some emotional ups and downs - frustration, excitement, frustration, etc. which i have already been b!tching about with the app locking and app hiding feature - like i just know you are up to no good if your instagram is locked on your own phone...
caution
as always you should probably wait a bit before updating immediately because the glitches will be real. an update will definitely follow the initial one.
have ideas for new content? please use my “suggest a post topic” button!

// OOC Question for Mod
Do you think Till's also made a solo song? Like how Ivan made Nowhere from awhile back
// hello! Mod here! I would like to apologize for taking fucking 2 months to respond to this, but I think this is a better time than ever to respond since Hyuna’s third solo song dropped a couple days ago!
I absolutely think Till has made a solo song, he’s been a musical child since he was born, and we can see that in Io’s comic where she doesn’t want to sing along with Till, knowing what is fate will be if he continued to sing, but his voice was so beautiful that she couldn’t help to indulge him. So yes, absolutely he has a solo song.
Despite knowing this, I have no idea as to what it could be about. The most obvious answer is Mizi, just like Nowhere was about Till, but as we saw in Ivan’s song it wasn’t just about Till. My guess is that Till could’ve also used the solo song as a chance to vent out his feelings about the treatment he’s received from the segyein over the years. We learned in Io’s comic that his disdain for the aliens as a whole comes from the fact they were the ones who took him away from his mother, causing his rebellious nature that we see in the show.
With this in mind, if Till did use a solo song as a way to make sprees all his feelings, then I believe we’ll see a song that’s filled with lots of repressive and villainizing themes to it when referencing the aliens and then almost saviour like themes when it comes to referencing Mizi, like how she was his shining light in a tunnel of darkness and all of that sort of stuff.
TLDR; yes! I do think he made a song!

Headcanon: twins never actually watched CIDER - they only watched moments with Gora's cameos (and were outraged by him becoming a monster in the final episode - they would have never allowed such thing to happen with their hero!). So their knowledge of CIDER was mostly based on other people's reviews and discussion on it in the alien internet.
That led to Aki and Haru having some....misunderstanding about the show's 'characters' and their relationship. You know, like when you read some discussion on the show you know nothing about, and decide that its main character is a character A., when in reality A. is just the most popular character in the fandom who canonically only appears in the second half of the story? And with ships…well, you know how it works.
It doesn’t mean a lot for twins – they don’t care about anyone from the show except for Gora. So these misunderstandings just settle in the back of their minds.
Until they start hanging out with the Defense Club post-S2, and these misunderstandings starts to float to the surface.
From thinking that Akoya and Io are childhood friends, just because of a poorly worded character analysis of the second-years on the aliens’ Tumblr. To having some really weird ideas about what actually happened between KinAtsuIbuEn.
It’s not a big deal, for the most part – twins try to keep their “But aren’t you – oh,nevermind“ to themselves. But sometimes…yeah, sometimes it does get a little awkward.
Like when second-years are gossiping about the third-years and the kinatsu’s ‘miscommunication/misunderstanding/misapprehension’ comes up, and then it turns out that Haruhiko is thinking that the whole S1 drama happened because of Arima. Somehow. And Haru is sure it’s a common knowledge so he shares it nonchalantly and moves on to the next theme, leaving AkoIoRyuu really confused.
#boueibu#vepper#boueibu hcs#haruhiko beppu#Actually something similar to the last part happened to me#For some reason after watching first two episodes of Love and reading profiles I confused Atsushi and Ibushi#And before ep4 preview I was sure that the estranged friend that Kinshiro missed in the ending was Arima#don't ask why#.....ch9 of the manga was really funny to me because of it

Interview With a Writer
It is that blessed time when the wonderful and talented Miss Maggie, @inthedayswhenlandswerefew, gives us some behind-the-scenes insight to her latest brilliant narration. [Feel free to check out the Spotify playlist of all the songs mentioned and let me know if I forgot one!]
Here is masterlist to my Interview With a Writer series and the other talented individuals who allow me to continue this self-indulgent series! 💜 Picture(s) source.
Name: inthedayswhenlandswerefew
Story: 1968
Paring: modern Aemond Targaryen x female!reader, modern Aegon Targaryen x female!reader
Warnings: 18+ mature themes. Be mindful of chapter warnings.
Where did the idea for 1968 come from?
I am a high school social studies teacher by trade, and my absolute favorite class to teach is American History. The 1960s and 70s were actually one of my weak spots when I got my first teaching job back in 2020, so I ended up researching a lot about that period of time and got absolutely obsessed with it. In my American History class, I spend a whole lesson on JUST 1968, because so many important events happened in that year that are emblematic of broader trends and tensions.
One day I was re-reading one of my favorite books, The Other Mrs. Kennedy by Jerry Oppenheimer, which is specifically about Bobby Kennedy’s wife Ethel, but also gives a lot of insight into the Kennedy family generally and what it was like to live through that era. The idea of using this setting as a fic AU occurred to me, and I ruminated on it for a few weeks while finishing up Napoleonville.
Eventually, I had a revelation of the ending of 1968 (true to my usual pattern), and then knew I’d have to write the fic! I was actually really worried about all the political and historical details being too boring and/or confusing (especially for non-U.S. readers), so I was relieved that so many people gave it a chance. 🥰
Honestly, it was brilliant with the similarities to the Kennedys and Targaryens in the story. Were there any historical cameos in 1968 that you enjoyed channeling? Or perhaps struggled with?
I find LBJ super fascinating, and I feel that because of the Vietnam War he really doesn’t get a fair assessment when people look back on his presidency. His work for civil rights and the Great Society (SNAP, Medicaid, Head Start, Job Corps, PBS, etc.) was truly revolutionary, and as someone who grew up in poverty and benefitted from a lot of those programs, I don’t think LBJ’s contributions get the recognition and praise they deserve. I perceive him as a haunted sort of figure, and I really enjoyed his cameos. (To be clear, he was also super problematic and bizarre personally, and I don’t mean to excuse any of that 😂).
As for someone who was difficult to write about…honestly, the George Wallace research I did was super depressing, so while he was necessary to include, I didn’t really enjoy working on those parts!
Was there anything in specific that inspired your Reader portrayal?
Io is a bit of a composite sketch. Ethel Kennedy was known as doggedly committed to her husband’s career above all else (despite eventually being the mother of 11 children!!), and I think that inspired Io’s single-minded determination to help Aemond win the election in the first few chapters. Ethel was traditional in the sense that her husband was the center of her world and made all the important decisions, as was expected of women of her social class in that time period. But Io is also a manifestation of the counterculture of the late-60s. She is young, educated, genuinely progressive politically, and likes to party. She tries to reconcile the expectations of her family/time period and her actual personality by intentionally choosing a husband with whom she can have an equal partnership making the world a better place. And…we all know how that worked out.
[Photo Ethel and Bobby Kennedy, m. 1950]
Can you explain your interpretation of Aegon? How does he compare and contrast to Aemond? What drives them? Why are they the way that they are?
In 1968, Aegon is 40 years old, and so his role in the Targaryen political dynasty is very well-established: once his family realized he couldn’t be weaponized for their purposes, he was largely disposed of, and lives this aimless, uninspired, self-loathing sort of existence. He does have some genuine love for his family—missing Daeron and feeling guilt over him being sent to Vietnam, a vague sort of fondness for Mimi and the kids, distress when Aemond is shot in Palm Beach, an apology of sorts to Alicent by performing “Mama Tried” at her birthday party—but Aegon exists on the periphery, and he knows this, and while he doesn’t want to be a politician the rejection still stings.
At first, he perceives Io as yet another person who makes him feel inadequate and unloved; and in fairness, she is cruel to him, in fact more so than Aegon is to Io in return. It is noteworthy that in Chapter 1, she viciously criticizes Aegon in front of everyone in the waiting room (“if someone had to get killed tonight it should have been you”), but he doesn’t return fire until they are alone (the infamous cow comment), and even then he seems to regret it immediately.
Aegon, fundamentally, is more sad than mean. When in Chapters 2 and 3 Io abruptly reveals herself to be someone who is vulnerable, wounded, abandoned, and kind of a hippie lowkey, Aegon begins to perceive her differently, and she becomes an opportunity for him to be truly understood, protected, and loved for the first time in his life.
I think we would all describe Aemond as ambitious and ruthless, determined to prove that he is the best to compensate for deep, lifelong insecurities. He is a progressive politically because he sees a path to build a winning coalition, and perhaps in small part because of the whole Greeks-being-despised immigrants thing. But in 1968 there is a sense that you never fully understand who he is as a person. This is intentional! 1968 is Io’s story, and she never gets to see the whole Aemond. She sees parts of the picture, but never the full image. As awful as he is to Io, there is also a side of Aemond that truly (even if in an…unorthodox way 😂) loves Alys and their child, and there are clues that Alys understands him like no one else can (that Ouija board message… 👀). He’s by no means a good guy, but he is multifaceted. I think the stress of the presidency, and his long separation from Alys, ends up softening Aemond a bit, hence him defending Io’s reputation and ultimately letting her go.
Did anything inspire your other OCs? Specifically "The Ones Who Married In" club?
I didn’t sit down and plan what sorts of characters would be in the “The Ones Who Married In” club. I was possessed by these random visions of them: a perpetually drunk Mimi, a perhaps not too bright but very sweet Fosco, and Malibu Barbie but make her Polish Ludwika, and I was thinking: “These people are ridiculous, this will never work!” But then when I thought about it more, I realized that Mimi, Fosco, Ludwika, and Io all serve strategic roles to help advance Aemond’s career, and so it would make sense that Otto and Aemond cobbled them together and shoved them into the family portraits. I ended up really loving them, but they weren’t a big part of my original outline for 1968. 🙂
How would Io rate them based on her friendship with each of them?
Fosco is definitely #1; they connect on an emotional level that is deep but also largely unspoken. Ludwika is a close #2; she’s Io’s shopping buddy but also witty, supportive, and very feminist in her own way. And then Mimi is a distant #3. Io pities Mimi and feels loyalty to her as a fellow Targaryen, and goes out of her way to try to protect Mimi from her own self-destructive tendencies. But Io, as a collected and self-reliant person, also has difficulty understanding and dealing with someone as messy as Mimi. And of course, once Io realizes she is super into Aegon, that creates some one-sided resentment of Mimi!
Do you have a feeling of what happened after chapter 12? What is the ending you vaguely see with Aegon and Io? What about Aemond and Alys?
Where I end a fic is really the last clear image I see of the characters, so I sadly don’t have a lot of specifics to offer. What I do feel is that Io and Aegon have children of their own (like, several children, maybe even 5+ children) and Aegon is present for their early years in a way he wasn’t able to be for his kids with Mimi. Io is a stepmom to Aegon’s OG kids and has a good relationship with them, but she’s only really close with Cosmo.
I also sense that Aemond has basically no contact with Io or Aegon, which makes sense considering his abuse of Io and the lifelong fury Aegon would therefore have towards him. Aemond is happy with Alys and their son (as happy as someone like him is capable of being); he does the ex-president thing and settles into a largely ceremonial role and advises Democratic politicians, although he is not very friendly with President Reagan.
And then my wild theory is that a Daeron/John McCain ticket ends up winning the 2000 election and the War On Terror plays out completely differently!
And finally... 1968 seemed to pour from you like a fever dream. Does this mean something else might be coming to continue the Maggie's Suffering Sunday tradition?
1968 did seem to fly by, despite it being a longer fic at 12 chapters! I do have something planned for this Sunday... 😉 All I can say for now is that it is very weird, totally unexpected, and tonally a mashup of Comet Donati and When The World Is Crashing Down.
Does that seem impossible?? Think again 😏 I will be reblogging hints until Sunday! I hope you enjoy this new journey 🥰🐍

Another Outer God that absolutely cannot be missed in a Lovecraft themed Creeptober. As someone who regularly walks the earth wearing masks with his avatars, the Prompt #BehindtheMask is pretty much tailor-made for Nyalarthotep First time for me to draw him in almost full form and not just a shapeless, abstract fresco of his face. To be honest, I was really worried at times that I'd messed up the colouring until I put the highlights on the skin. Another artwork where you go through the whole mental spectrum from ‘great idea’ to ‘oh fuck, I ruined it’ to ‘huh….welp, now it works’ XD By the way, the masks aren't even that random. At the bottom left we have Nyarl's favourite mask - ‘the black man’ - the old man is modelled on Leland Gaunt from Stephen King's Needful Things, the half-hidden one in the middle has some Peter Bailish inspiration and the white women's mask is a bit of a counterpart to the first one.
And for the surprised Pikachu faces: yes Gaunt, yes Littlefinger. I love the idea of overlapping story worlds. If Dagon can cheat his way into Westeros, Nyarlathotep can do it all the more ;P
