How did Luigi react when he realized he died-

well, he thought he was dreaming for sure. it wouldn’t be the first time he’d fainted from fear or passed out from exhaustion in a mansion, so he strongly denied any of it was real at first. but he quickly realized that this ‘dream’ was way too vivid and strange to be a fantasy, and that’s when it started to sink in.

his big giveaway was probably how confused polturpup was? like, the pup was distressed that luigi wasn’t breathing, but the moment he realized luigi was simultaneously up and about, he crashed into luigi’s ghost form happily and luigi INSTANTLY felt something was off. it wasn’t like before when he would pet polturpup and the sensation was similar to the mist off dry ice, while being solid but in a distinctly dream-like way. this time, polturpup has straight up Collided with luigi, and in ways he could not explain, the dog is realer than before [it’s MY au and I get to make up the nonsense rules of the ghostly plane of existence! (and yes ghosts can pass through each other but it’s something that takes focus to do)]

ANYWAY, luigi is so horrified that he probably would have had a heart attack if he had a heart handy. it’s so much to take in at once, and he is overwhelmed to the point of incapacitation for a few minutes. the thing he feared most was ghosts, so actually becoming one felt wrong on all levels. honestly, the only thing keeping him from going completely mad was polturpup’s friendly presence and his mission to save mario.

Sometimes, I forget that Blue Lock takes place around 2018-2019 and get super surprised when I remember because that would mean I'm actually around the boys' age.

Like, I've been reading and watching the series as if I were another Anri because I'm currently her age at the moment, so I've been looking at most of these boys with a bit of a mother's heart, y'know?

...Then I remember the year the story is set, and everything sorta crumbles because that puts me in the same age group as all the second-year boys of the series. I could be some of these guys' classmates for crying out loud, and here I am calling them "children" and "babies" and stuff.

For example, Nagi, who would be several months older than me, but he gets babied by Reo anyway, so I think I get a pass there. Speaking of Reo though, even that guy would be older than me by a few months in the setting of Blue Lock! I'm 13 days, barely two weeks, older than Chigiri!!! Eat your heart out, pretty boy. I ran out of the womb faster than you did /j

At this point, I need to make an age list with their ages and birthdays to arrange them from oldest to youngest because the identity crisis this gives me is getting ridiculous.

he basically yote himself onto the operating table as soon as he turned 18, haha. he was an absolute nightmare during the recovery, though. it was at the time when Lili took a few years out from the psychonauts to go to college, and he kept calling her like "hey do you think it's okay if i go for a run as long as i don't move my arms too much. i was thinking i could hold them behind me like naruto" "raz you had surgery four days ago"

actually, since you asked about general headcanons, more rambling about that time of their lives under the cut!:

i've talked a little before about how Raz and Lili had a pretty tumultuous relationship during their teens, haha. i think around 17/18, things start to simmer down between them. they're still really close, but stuff's not as volatile, and they come to the decision that they want to take a break for a while. no matter how good friends they are, it can be kind of stifling to still be dating the same person you were when you were ten, y'know?

and like i said, this was also when Lili took a break from the Psychonauts. for me, one of the central anxieties of her character is figuring out who she wants to be outside of the Zanotto family's legacy and the expectations of everyone else. we see in PN1 she has kind of a skeptical view of the Psychonauts as a whole - but at the same time, it's the only world she's ever known. she's been training at the Motherlobe since she was a baby. she's spent her whole life immersed in this world, and i think she has a lot of big questions to ask herself as she enters adulthood: who am I? who do I really want to be?

so she takes a break to go study! i haven't decided exactly what, but i think she does something like a major in biological sciences and a minor in pharmaceuticals. she has a great time, and taking that time out ends up being what she needs to realise that actually she does want to stick with the Psychonauts. she and Raz go on their first mission together, things just click, and the rest is history hahaha

Honestly the dumbest thing about my experiences with queerness is I'd hear people talk about identity and how they navigate queerness and I'd be like, "oh, actually, that matches how I feel to a very weird level. Huh. Guess I'll never know why, though!"

And then a few months later, I'll have a breakdown of, "Holy shit, holy fuck what the hell is happening" before I realize maybe I should have paid closer attention to why I related so much to a queer experience.

The moral of this story is: if you relate to somebody explaining their queerness... there's likely a reason for that.

i've been obsesing over a tlt twilight au solely because of the silly edit with harrow seeing alecto alla bella seeing edward and.

it's so silly and dumb but gideon being the vampire and ianthe being the werewolf and they both obsessively pin over the weird loner wet rat harrow that just moved into town. i wanna say camilla, palamedes, dulcinea (the real one), protesilaus, jeannemary and isaac are part of the same family, all vampires, with abigail and magnus being the parental figures (basically the cullens). the third and second houses i'm thinking are all the werewolves, maybe the eight too. i just love the idea of ianthe and coronabeth being raised to maybe one day both take over the pack until they find out coronabeth is in fact not a werewolf. john and all the remaining of the first would be the volturi ofc but all the cavaliers would actually be alive? i haven't thought that far.

I think actually the funniest possible reaction to the (gestures to everything) in the identity crisis AU would be from Rolo and Nyma, because like. they met the paladins before the swap happened. They have an idea of what they're like.

so they are very, very confused when they decide to join the rebels and things uh. seem very different from how they remember.
