Maybe you should have made a poll with Vaggie's Lesbian status as well, consider that that fact wasn't even in the wiki? (Also, extra fact, in the super early renditions of her character she was with Angel, not canon now, but interesting considering we all find her to be lesbian and not bi)
(prev) (poll 1) (poll 2)
the thing with that is like. vaggie is not at the same sort of "unknown" (I guess) status as husk and alastor when it comes to her sexuality like. we KNOW for a fact she is sapphic, she is dating and in love with charlie. so it's narrowed down to she's either lesbian or bi. like. most people who watch the show itself alone would probably assume she's lesbian anyways cause we've only seen her into a girl and no guys
although arguably I'd say you'd be able to guess for alastor too with the rosie dialogue but clearly that is not the case for a lot of people LMAO
but like ultimately no attraction in canon usually = unknown because of devil's proof logic, vaggie has SOMETHING to go off of in the show: her attraction to women, husk and alastor (obviously) don't have any canonical attraction (yes, everyone and their mums love huskerdust but loser baby is not inherently romantic)
I guess there IS something to be said about this kind of logic but idk if it's worth polling cause I can basically guarantee you vaggie being a canon lesbian would be near 100%, like who's going to say it's not canon?

Let me tell you there are people out there that think Hobie wouldn't smoke weed because doing so is a 'black stereotype'
They think he wouldn't smoke weed because he's 'too aware' and woke for that and he would never want to be dazed out and intoxicated
Let me tell you
They will believe this - even the guy has said it himself that he gets intoxicated
BY DRINKING.
AND ENJOYS IT.
And to that I say
Tumblr media
Bro why
10,001 fics of Hobie at a pub drinking it's cool but then there's a couple of him smoking some trees and it's 'hate when ppl reduce him to a stereotype 😪'
like hey buddy hey pal
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know these statistics are American but the guys from 1978 or something
let's be real here let's be ever so real
if he admits to drinking what convinces you smoking is out of the picture?? do you really think he'd think weed is worse than liqour??
The only alternative I'll accept is he's one of those people that gets anxious while he's high
Cause it's funny to think of Hobie taking a singular hit then being like 'nah bruv that shit is scaring the hell outta me 😩 fuck is my heart racing for'
Reader having to help Hobie chill out cause he got SO HIGH his spider sense started bugging out so now he's laying on the ceiling face down doing deep breathing exercises
And the reader is like 'see that's what you get for trying to hit the bong like that'

Just to minimize my chances of being genuinely misunderstood OR deliberately misinterpreted, and crucified for something I don't think, How Dare You Say We Piss on the Poor website etc...I'm gonna say this right up top. I absolutely understand why people don't like Thessaly as a character, if anyone does completely unironically stan her as some kind of feminist hero who Did Nothing Wrong uwu, I personally see it as a bit of a red flag. I don't like terfs real or fictional. In a vacuum, I could even completely sympathize and agree with the people who want her cut.
HOWEVER.
It's really something to me to see people clamoring for her to be cut, because she carries and expressed an ugly indefensible prejudice (transphobia) in words towards (1) person. Meanwhile Hob fucking Gadling enacted one of the most violent forms of antiblack racism I can even think of against thousands no, millions of people, the ripple effects of which still affect billions more today. Just a little light idk, profiting off the fucking slave trade and had to be told by someone else that it was bad...and he's a fan favorite.
People are saying Thessally being Dream's love interest reflects badly on him or is somehow endorsement by the narrative (?!?!?!?!?!? Didn't she (SPOILER ALERT AS IF IT MATTERS BY NOW) help participate in his extended assisted suicide? She's not painted as a great person to me just another character what are y'all SMOKING whatever fine. It's fine this is fine.) But shipping Dream with Mr. Former Slaver is not only not verboten or frowned on widely in the fandom but its THEE most popular pairing by far. So...why the difference?
Like where are the same fans who are saying Thessaly shouldn't just be more clearly shown to be wrong, she shouldn't even be in the show at all when it comes to Hobert's crimes??? Yes, transphobia is indefensible. Isn't racism?
And I hear the cries of "it's fiction!!!" Already rallying (if anyone who needs to hear this even sees it lol) to which I say:
HORSESHIT. I KNOW you don't, deep down, really agree because if you did, why get upset about Thessaly being included??? Why does what she said to one person matter if it's Just Fiction You Guyze. Fictional characters are allowed to do bad things and fiction isn't reality sweaty....except when you only apply that standard to fictional racists you like and simp for, but fictional transphobes you don't are SO HARMFUL they shouldn't even be portrayed in fiction.
Like. Give me a big fat BREAK. This looks like bullshit, no? I'm sorry, but I'd love for someone to try and give any other explanation besides one personally offended you or hit home for you, and the other doesn't.
And if that bothers you or you feel like it says something negative about you...idk what you want me to say??? You can't control how other people perceive you and that's how people outside this majority-of-the-fandom bubble see it. You don't need to respond, I just wish and genuinely hope this gives you a moment to think about why fans who ARE bothered by both (and not just paying lip service to being bothered by the one but railing against the other) are so frustrated with people saying everyone is welcome but in practice only bending over backwards for the comfort and emotions of themselves, and people they can easily relate to.
You don't have to like Thessaly (I don't. I find her an interesting antagonist, I don't stan her. And frankly that's not the point of her character) but you'll pardon me for feeling more than a bit cynical and side eying people's motivations for what seems a...pretty obvious double standard, on what fictional crimes related to real world issues matter to y'all, and which clearly don't. Either actually bring the same energy to the table for fictional people who committed atrocities, even if against a group you're not part of and thus don't feel the need to empathize with, or just carry on, but accept that you don't have the SLIGHTEST room to talk about cutting characters who do immoral things. And you also need to accept that you look like a hypocrite when you do.
#thessaly#wanda the sandman#hob gadling#I could've cried sexism!!! Problematic Male vs Female Characters except 1) I don't actually think that's the main reason *here*#2) there are WAY better examples of that particular double standard in this fandom#also i can admit when I'm a bit of a hypocrite or was.#i used to dip my toes into the dreamling stuff too early on#but idk. It just got too sour seeing ppl whitewash (lol I know I'm a comedian)#what he did over and over. And I genuinely had started to wonder#if the show hadn't included that particular crime and I'd just imagined it from the comics because#my memory is shit sometimes and I guess I was naive. I *wanted* to believe someone would talk aboutit#if it had made it in. but ultimately i went back and checked and no#and seeing how the whole fandom behaving affected my non-white mutuals some of whom...#like these are my friends man or ppl I just respect and I can't just. Ignore their feelings and their pov#and act like they werent making points or it doesn't matter#like it's all just fun and games for everyone on the same terms. And seeing how easy it was#for everyone to ignore was so unsettling. I couldn't keep pretending it was just fiction and didn't affect anyone real#Call me a bully a t3rf apologist (fuck you and for the record. no)#a puritan or a Fancop (actually stop comparing#people disagreeing with you online to what cops do. For fucks sake you just make it look like nothing is really real to you outside fandom)#whatever man. Whatever helps you sleep. I'm just gonna block you#if you're clearly sticking your fingers in your ears. engaging with you is a waste of time and energy then#Hell I have sympathy for anyone who doesn't like thessaly#especially trans fans. Especially rn. But lbr that sympathy for a lot of the white trans/queer fans only goes one way!!!#never gets extended to anyone else's issues. Like THATSthe issue. And it's shitty!#(sorry this post is not about me in the confessional lol that's why I put this at the bottom#I just had feelings to get out and yes its my blog but i didn't want to clog the airways)

The funny thing to me about the “creek is forced” argument is that it literally defeats the purpose of the episode??
Like the two of them were CLEARLY uncomfortable with people making art of them together and only became a couple AFTER accepting themselves and realizing there could genuinely be something there. The town may be what pushed them together in the first place but in the end it was ultimately their own decisions.
Also by that “logic” Tolkchole would be forced as well (since Cartman is the one who pushed them together) but I see no one complaining about them 🤔🤔

Some ZADR fans are so fuckin weird to me FR. Like, ZADR is abusive, toxic, manipulative, and has a huge age gap regardless of the maturity of the two characters.
Like for some reason all of that is FINE until we get to the age gap part. Like yeah Zim and Dib may have tried to murder each other multiple times but shipping them with their age gap is SCANDALOUS!
It’s just some blorbos I can promise you the way you choose to ship them does not matter that much

it is just calling out misogyny. calling baghra abusive and not darkling because you want to fuck him.
i imagine this is about this post, in which case i want to be very clear here about a great many things. first of all, you are factually incorrect, and misconstruing the situation. it is not just calling out misogyny, because there would have to be misogyny occurring in the first place. which there was not.
second of all, i want to go over what exactly you did that fundamentally undermined your argument. what you were doing in that post is called a red herring. it is the act - in a debate or intellectual discussion - of diverting focus away from the original topic with an irrelevant one. what you are bringing to the table is a bias; it is the misconception that one must always be discussing what you believe is the more serious topic when addressing other issues - and it is the equivalent of, say, bringing up men's rights on posts about feminism.
to argue that there is a double standard occurring, one would have to have sufficient evidence that the template used to judge one side is being completely discarded or changed when judging the other. in that case, the biggest argument to be made in this fandom about double standards is the double standard of watering down the female loyalists while holding the male revolutionary accountable to an entirely radical degree.
but that's beside the point. because the post referenced didn't come close to showing any type of double standard in any direction.
now, i want to be very clear here: a woman being brought up or critiqued in any space does not equate an automatic attempt at misogyny. that one cannot discuss a woman's complete actions without also - by social consensus - bringing up a man to divert attention away from her, is more damaging in that regard than the initial discussion about the woman to begin with.
as such, what you are also bringing to the table is another bias - an assumption. that anyone critiquing a woman when there is a man right beside her is automatically ignoring his crimes. and not only that, but they are ignoring his crimes due to sexual intent.
this assumption often arises if one believes their own worldview is superior to anyone else's. and if one ignores how the delineation of focus and critique in fandom spaces operates. furthermore, this is rooted in the belief that moral pandering must be done at all times to remain acceptable in social (fandom, in this case) spaces. which i have already mentioned before as being incredibly harmful and engaging in a black and white worldview that simply does not comport with reality. people do not operate in boxes, and they do not need to give all of their focus all of the time to the things you have issues with. if they are so pressing to you, you should discuss them yourself.
in fact, this brings me to a recent post i made about cross-tagging, which seems strangely relevant to the way you and many others operate within fandom - and believe others should operate as well. and that is this: there is an obscene amount of inflammatory hate posts cross-tagged with irrelevant topics. they're always tagged with the groups or fandom spaces assumed to be similarly minded just because the media or character they engage with are more acceptable and "pure".
i've seen anti darkling posts tagged with genyalina. completely unrelated in any capacity to the subject of the main post. i've seen even more hate posts tagged with six of crows, when their only subject matter was shadow and bone. do you know why this is? it's because these people (when they are not simply trying to attract attention) believe wholeheartedly that their views on morality are homogenous with the whole, and that if one hates this amoral character in the ways they do, they must also like the morally acceptable things as well, and condemn others similarly. it is an automatic slide into 'us vs them' based on a shared impression of ethical ideology.
this is how people with little real capacity to decipher nuance end up getting their wires crossed about the complexity of literary discussion and personal interest in fandom. and how this somehow correlates to one's inherent goodness.
which is the long way of saying that a person does not have to raise every other issue when discussing one subject. they do not have to always mention the darkling when they talk about baghra - and they do not have to (as i am well acquainted with this fandom's obsession with female purity and gender essentialism) automatically support every female character spat out of those books just to make the people incapable of media comprehension and basic critical analysis feel better. they are not beholden to you, or your egocentric worldview of a homogenous social sphere. you are not the authority on operating in fandom spaces, and you are not - believe it or not - the authority on acceptable behavior in fandom spaces.

Listen, I love Vegeta, but there's nothing that pisses me off more than his fans when they try to claim that he is the better father out of him and Goku. Like, Goku might not win the best father award due to him being imperfect in some parts, but still being good, but Vegeta???? Really???? I saw someone claiming that Vegeta is a better father than Goku because he would have never given Cell a senzu bean if it was Trunks fighting him. And like, not here to argue about whatever or not he would have given it or not, but how can you look at Cell saga Vegeta, and go, yes, perfect example for arguing about who's the better father, and meaning him, over Goku. Cell saga Vegeta. The guy that literally did not move a muscle when Dr. Gero hit the ship where Bulma and his son were flying on. That Vegeta????

four cops were killed in my city and the fucking president of the united states is coming down to visit with the families
and like I'm not one to celebrate the death of someone, death is death and I don't think those cops should have died, but it is infuriating how every piggy who dies is valorized and it's painted as such a horrible tragedy, so much so that the president feels the need to show up for the families.
all of this while the CMPD are currently on college campuses beating the shit out of peaceful protesters. it's so fucking frustrating to see the local media stop and wail over the death of four cops while there is crickets over the police beating on college kids.
it's just so obvious that cops lives matter more that normal citizens and it just makes me so fucking angry. and I don't like being this angry. but seeing Joe FUCKING Biden crawl out of his hole to comfort the family of these cops while he's actively enabling genocide in gaza makes me so angry I want to vomit blood
