looking at a model sheet pose of os ditto, i drew the top right one just to get a sense of his design in particular. though i didn't post any of it, i drew some ov ditto around 2 years ago when i watched the classic continuity, but i wanted to switch things up. i drew the bottom right one next

some kind of reward. beyond just beating the dlc obviously. like. its meant to be played over and over and over again, right? i want some sort of reward(s) to work toward to incentivize that. idk i just want smth else to work towards besides just salmon run scales or playing pvp.

im also really looking forward to seeing pearl and 8 together again. i just feel like pearl being the one giving the advice and guidance, potentially without having a voice of reason like marina, is going to be very fun. she says the funniest most unhinged stuff. i adore pearl and i cannot wait to see her.

IM ALSO RLLY LOOKING FORWARD TO FIGHTING ALONGSIDE PEARL. it was SO much fun having little buddy in hero mode. like just having a lil companion who helps u in video games is the best.

at this point i think its time to retire the octoling enemies unless we have a reason for them. they barely made any sense at all in 3, and unless they do something creative with them i just dont think they have a place as enemies again. luckily none of the trailers show enemy octolings, so fingers crossed we don't have to beat up poor mind controlled octolings for a third time.

ok i know not everyone agrees with this. and given how side order looks so far, i dont think/actually want it to happen. but it would be nice to get more deep cut content. we didnt get to actually spend time with them in story mode. they were just antagonists the whole time and then once they joined the players side we got immediately thrust into the final parts of story mode. they didnt really get a chance to shine as friends rather than foe. but ig we already get tosee that on the splatcast. and the story mode is rlly just to show the other side of them we dont get to see on air. so at this point from what we know about side order, it wouldnt make any sense for themto be there. they dont know 8. but early on before we got any trailers and all we knew was that there was going to be a dlc with off the hook,,,, i was hoping for a deep cut cameo... now we have no way for deep cut and off the hook to meet after this. like deep cut and the squid sisters know each other and get along(?). and we know marina is a huge squid sisters fan, and pearl at least knows of them. Plus pearl and marina have met capn cuttlefish and made friends w him. so were probably able to infer that off the hook and the squid sisters have hung out more since octo expansion. i think there is even official art of them together in multiple pictures? so they are obviously friends now. but deep cut and off the hook dont know each other.... SO HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GET A DEEP CUT, SQUID SISTERS, AND OFF THE HOOK CONCERT. I NEED INTERACTIONS WITH THEM.

honestly i hope they lean into the like... vibes of it all. but this is splatoon. the art and music always gives 130%. like its always good. theres nothing to rlly worry about there.

ok so im hopeing this isnt going to be some fully disconected alternate timeline where none of this affects the normal timeline or characters. im still partial to my own theory of the whole thing being a simulation built by marina in her hopes to see what a world of order would look like. but marina got stuck in it (or is refusing to leave maybe?) it would be unclear to 8 and pearl where in the simulation she is or if she is even here of her own free will or not. so u know 8 also goes into the simulation. and pearl probably doesnt go in, but is able to control the pearl bot from outside the simulation so that she can still interact with the real world. i mean pearl can cover for marina, but if both famous idols suddenly went missing it would be a pretty big panic. or maybe theres some other reason why pearl cant be in there fully. or she is in the simulation fully but for whatever reason she is in the pearlbot form. anyway this would allow us to have the fun of an alternate timeline while the characters are still from out timeline.

SPEAKING OF. if we do get the whole "our version of the characters AND alternate version of the character" thing. i want alternate marina to be the villain. like maybe marina in the simulation/alternate world didnt mean to be a villain, but in her quest for order and safety she ended up hurting others sel expression and creativity and all that. but our marina finds her and is like yo maybe this is... not a great thing. but alternate marina doesnt listen. this would be interesting cuz then pearl and 8 could get messages from marina that seem out of character but nope its just alternate marina boom big reveal. idk man.

Ig for those curious, here are the weapons I think each dbz character ive drawn currently would use in the splatoon au thing I drew

Goku-

Krak on splat roller/splattershot (mainly rollers) He went through using alot of weapons before deciding on the krak on roller. He used to be very indecisive on what he wanted to use.

Vegeta-

Splat dualies (or any dualies in general, prefers using the enperry dualies) he likes being really aggressive, and using dualies help him achieve that. Depending on what he feels like doing, he will use different dualies. He hardly ever uses the dualie squelchers though.

Krillin-

Doesn't participate in turf wars as often anymore, but he often uses Luna blaster. He often did matches with goku as a duo, and would pick a weapon that would be good support for goku's. He also occasionally uses nzap. Plays more salmon run.

Chichi- also doesn't participate very much, but she was a good splatana wiper player. Plays any splatana. She used to be a competitive player, though played less and less after marrying goku. She still plays turf wars occasionally, more often when goku, or her children do.

Yamcha- local tentabrella user, 5 starred v tentabrella though is still figuring out how exactly to use it. He often changes weapons now bc he wants to find a cooler weapon to main.

Bulma- Ink brush player, prefers nouveau over v ink brush. She occasionally uses other brushes and took interest in learning splatanas.

Gohan- Heavy splating deco user. He sometimes plays rollers, but loves using splatlings alot more. Will play any he feels like, but the heavy deco is his favorite.

Trunks- 52 gal user. He uses any of the gal weapons, but occasionally uses dapple dualies if he feels like it.

Goten- splat roller user. He uses any rollers, but also is pretty good with squiffer. His goal is often to be as irritating as possible.

Tien- Splat charger user. He uses any charger, but prefers the regular splat charger.

Bardock- carbon roller deco user. His play style and quick and aggressive, and he often goes for front line weapons when he feels like doing something different. Often plays ranked/anarchy.

Gine- Undercover brella user. She often swaps between v undercover and undercover sorella brella. She'll use any other brella if she feels like it, and also occasionally uses e-liter. She also often plays ranked/anarchy.

King vegeta- Splat dualies user. He'll use any dualies, but prefers v splat dualies.

Raditz- Dynamo roller user. I just think this weapon would fit him. He's fond of heavy hitting weapons, though is still learning how to use them properly. Often swaps between the dynamos.

Turles- octobrush user. He's also grown pretty fond of using the painbrushes, often swapping between them. He's one of those toxic players that taunt after every kill and just mess with people in general. He's also a sore loser. Don't be like him kids

Frieza doesn't play in turf wars. If he DID though he'd use splatana stamper.

Broly(dbs) - heavy splatling user. He'll use any splatling, but heavy is the one he loves using the most. He's still new to turf wars, often playing anarchy with goku and vegeta as they show him the ropes.

Paragus- dualie squelchers user. He found teaching Broly to be frustrating. He was good at fighting and was strong, but he never really took to using the dualies like he had hoped. Man really wanted his son to like his main weapon

Mostly based off of my own headcanons n all that, there'll be more as I think of them but this post is already long enough. If you have questions about the au, feel free to ask!

Idk about the story yet, it's not gonna be 100% a reflection of dbz canon, cause all of it cannot be replicated into splatoon, not every aspect of dbz or dbs will be incorporated either, that'd be alot lmao

the amount of drafts i have stored away is atrocious! but it was jade's and floyd's birthday the other day and i do love them so. they each hold a special place in my heart.

using gn!yuu; expect a similar format to my ruggie comfort fic. lots of "focusing on/using the five senses" here. no particular theme or scenario ig. a bit tired from a rough day at work today. so there will be lots of errors. orz

they both smelled different just like how, despite their similar appearances, both had differences in hobbies and personalities.

jade always smelled like he just returned from a trek in the mountains gathering mushrooms. a bit of a woodsy smell, a little sweat.... but also a faint scent of the sea, the beach. and, considering his work at the mostro lounge with his brother, whatever sea or land entree was featured on the menu.

jade would constantly whisk them away to go mushroom picking or star-gazing. he'd happily talk their ear off in the kitchen about the latest, rare mushroom he found but only because he knew they did not mind. sometimes, if the lounge wasn't busy, jade would sneak them into the kitchen and share his favorite recipes from back home (especially if it had mushrooms as its primary ingredient). or he'd lure them down into the orchestra pit and play music or dance with them.

however, floyd leech preferred movement, activity, adrenaline. he often yoinked them off of the ground in the middle of the first years' flight class. or they'd be suddenly picked up in a fireman's-carry hold while waiting for ace to finish basketball practice (a very flustered, angry jamil hollering after him). but sometimes, when the two of them were catching their breaths between activities, they'd smell a faint scent of wind and a fairly heavy whiff of sweat underneath a carefully applied smell of cologne (possibly gifted by azul — "so the customers don't go running out the door"). some days floyd would try to sneak up behind them between classes for squeezes. but they'd always manage to dodge his long arms and body due to the smell of fresh leather and squeaking from floyd's newly bought shoes.

if they manage to catch a rare day when floyd's mood is pleasant enough, they'll visit him in the kitchens at the lounge and watch him expertly filet a salmon or garnish an entree. the smells of all sorts of different meats and spices wafting up to the ceiling.

so planning a party in the ramshackle dorm and finding the perfect gifts for them was a piece of cake! a new basketball and a pair of new sneakers for floyd. and a rare mushroom found on one particular hike jade dragged them on [and safely sneaked back to the lab and kept hidden — thanks to professor crewel] for jade. all of these safely delivered to the party venue, it was only a matter of time for azul to bring them both over where ace and jamil were waiting.

Mondo:

Favorite Thing: I love it when the big intimidating characters like smaller animals. Like you think this guy would like Pitbulls or Rottweilers or something, but nope. Also, I would kill for his jacket, it looks so cool!

Least Favorite Thing: This is difficult for me, I don't necessarily hate anything about his character (other than his hair, he's all you would be getting from me if I could draw his fucking hair). I guess that he's a little quick to choose violence, poor Chihiro (and Makoto). Definitely chapters 1 and 2 Fuyuhiko vibes.

Favorite Line: He has so many funny lines in the anime but I'm gonna stick to the game. Going through his voice lines, he's so fucking useless during the trials but he has a lot of funny back-and-forths with other characters. I like the one at the beginning of the first trial where him and Taka go back and forth a little bit. "Don't be a goddamn idiot. Why the hell would they raise their hand?"

BrOTP: Already said him and Leon for Leon's. I would love to see him interact more with Sakura and Aoi, though. Maybe they can teach him there are better ways to release your anger. Okay, maybe Sakura can teach both of them that lesson.

OTP: Ishimondo is an obvious one, absolute sucker for enemies to lovers. Though he mentions that he yells when talking to someone he has a crush on iirc and homie is always yelling so I am inclined to believe that he's had at least the passing thought of "oh, they're attractive/cool" with all of his classmates whether he likes it or not (bisexual struggles ig)

NOTP: Idk, I don't really like victim x blackened ships, so Chihiro, I guess. They can be besties, though

Random Headcanon: iirc in his graduation event, he tells Makoto he'll build a house for him once they get out, so I like to think he's a yes-man when it comes projects. You make an offhand comment about needing more storage? Bam! He's on your doorstep the next day with a homemade chest to keep all your shit in. His love language is definitely gift giving.

Unpopular Opinion: His and Rantaro's are going to be similar, but the butter jokes get old after seeing it constantly (admittedly, I am guilty for making these jokes when I first joined the fandom and I still make some out of habit every now and then). Jokes about his hair are always welcome, though.

Favorite Thing: He's so cryptic, and it's so good. He doesn't give us shit in the time he's around (minus FTEs), and I love it!

Least Favorite Thing: I don't dislike anything about him personality or writing wise tbh. His side profile haunts my nightmares, though.

Favorite Line: I would go with the classic "You wanted this killing game, so you have to win no matter what" but instead I'm going with "I was just thinking, what you said back there would have pissed off whoever's running this. They definitely don't want us holding hands, workin' together...They're going to come for you, Kaede. With everything they've got. I'm a little worried about you. You're just so...straightforward." Rantaro is secretly the Ultimate Clairvoyant lol

BrOTP: Him and Kaede are mlm and wlw solidarity and you cannot convince me otherwise.

My splatoon 3 storymode and dlc related theories:

- captain 3 will have multiple moments where they're about to talk only for 1 thing or another to interrupt them.

- agent 4 and agent 8 will probably be in the dlc like how captain 3 was in splat2's dlc (agent 8 seems more likely because they already know off the hook, which we know will somehow be involved in the dlc)

- the squidbeak splatoon will be officially disbanded by the end of the story mode, this is what the direct meant when they said it'd be the finale of a saga

- - because I doubt they'll never make more splatoon games. If anything ending the squidbeak splatoon storyline will give them even more options for future game's storymodes

- deep cut aren't the villains of the story, but are definitely going to be pains in our asses. They'll see whatever the squidbeak splatoon is doing as a threat to whatever they're "looting" and will try and get in our way, but will probably come around by the end

- DJ octavio is either going to be on our side from his first appearance (asking for help because somethings stolen his army) or will join up after realizing whatever true Big Bad we have is just using him

- I feel like Tartar's got to be involved. Considering 'order' lost the last splatfest and his whole thing was about making a perfect world.

- - If you can't make the current lifeforms fit your perfect world, just bring back the mammalians ig.

- I think anything involving grizz co. And the salmonids will be reserved for the dlc, but definitely hinted towards through the existence of little buddy and whatever explains why agent 3 has him, even before the storymode starts

- - also because we know the dlc involves off the hook, and they often referenced the two of them going on salmon runs during their broadcasts. So maybe that's the connection.

Last ones are somethings that we only saw in the Nintendo treehouse live stream and so I'm putting them under a readmore incase you don't want even a scrap of spoilers from stuff beyond the trailers

- the in universe reason for this storymode being set up more like how octo expansion was is going to be related to the fact tartar is pulling the strings

- - hopefully it isn't just the whole "if you're worthy to advance to the new world" thing again but we'll see

- whatever O.R.C.A turns out to stand for is going to make everyone lose their shit. Probably. Honestly orca is the thing I'm most confused about.

DJ (they/he?) is nicknamed Faith, and with the og japanese name this nickname would be Chu(ji)

Timpanist (he/it) is nicknamed Val, jpnese version would be Oo(shiki) or just Midori bc that's a bit more presentable name

The Cellist (they/she/he). Uh. I don't have a set nickname for them I usually just call them The Cellist/ cellisake I think they'd be okay with being referred to as that too. I've also called them Algin even tho that's technically not who they are... I've seen Blade as a nickname for them but something like Jr or Kid in reference to the whole "First Child" thing could work. Idk I'm indecisive ig they have a lot of nicknames

The Cellist and Faith started the band and Val joined soon after. Perhaps it makes more sense for it to be the other way around but I feel like with the Cellist being stubborn and more out there with their ideas that they'd initially forgo a more traditional instrument until they realized something was missing.

Val and Faith live together. The Cellist lives alone, maybe nextdoor w/ a lil pulley system between the two houses. Houses made during the Salmon Run are not really meant to be long term so this was meant to be a temporary arrangement to streamline their work but as you can see it's been some time.

Faith finds this nice, they were pretty much homeless and just couch surfing pre omega 3 and ended up moving in w/ one of them in their permanent ocean residences and they decided for the Salmon Run to keep a similar idea

Faith likes a lot of urban, cool culture. Streetwear, graffiti, hip hop and break-dancing... etc etc. They're also very tech savvy. Preferred genres r edm/techno, rap +rnb and punk...

Val enjoys an active lifestyle. Into travel, camping, fishing and more outdoorsy things, working hard, eating well, taking part in festivities and trying to give back to the community when he's not too caught up in his own stuff. Likes traditional salmonid music a lot but also pretty big on grunge and nu-metal

The Cellist likes reading and interacting with art that is like. "good enough" for him. Most of it is confusing or dreary. Likes coffee in the morning and maybe a small glass of scotch on a lonely evening. And being right. As for genres he'll go for whatever he thinks is groundbreaking in specific songs mostly regardless of genre.. but I feel he'd like rock. Probably post punk and more experimental stuff? Maybe folk and some classical music... idk idk!!! If anything it's mostly stuff like Trout Mask Replica...

The Cellist does however claim to not like pop music. This is usually not a lie but. She does actually like some of the Squid Sister's songs maybe even some stuff from OTH or C-Side. She would rather die than admit this.

I do feel like if any of them had to choose a favorite band of the ones we know DJ would choose Dedf1sh or Sashimori maybe C side.. Val would go for bottom feeders and Cellist would say uhh ink theory may be.. it’s good jazz music

They have all physically fought on multiple occasions. There's been at least one near breakup too

The Cellist's dorsal/hair fin is greying, their coloration is also a bit warmer than other salmonids

Val is not completely blind it its injured eye but its vision is fucked. It's also sensitive to light and sensation which is a major reason for the eye patch

They all respect each other as musicians and people and deep down they all care but they really do argue a lot. They're not really people who blend well together at all. DJ rebels against all that is mainstream and all they don't like and even stuff they're more neutral on for the hell of it. They kindof think they're cool for being a jackass but theyve also just become very callous bc they didnt have a choice when they were younger... and they kind of feel like they're still on the defense. Esp since the other two are more experienced and older and tend to treat him like a kid sometimes esp the cellist...

Val means well but he often struggles to take others into account. He's very goal oriented, a one-way track sort of guy who often acts more than a little clueless or even selfish. Not as petty or stubborn as the Cellist but he's got a lot of inertia. That and he's just... kind of shit at socializing in ways that don't piss other people off. Says a lot of accidentally insensitive stuff too. Comes off pretty intense to some as well!! And the Cellist. Well. Stubborn, emotionally repressed, physically and verbally clumsy... they are also a very sensitive person with a lot of emotional empathy where they kind of sponge up whatever vibe they feel, but they don't quite have the ability to act on what they think would make things right!

So yeah they fight a lot between these clashing personalities that bring out the worst in each other and other creative differences. The stress of the job adds to it!

Faith has an older sister. Val has two older brothers and many younger siblings. The Cellist is an only child which is uncommon in salmonid society

Faith is a Goldie, at least partially so. Val is a cohock from a family of steelheads and Big Shots and is extra durable bc of this. The Cellist is a Maws or meant to be one... he either did not complete training or retired due to his clumsiness...

All of them have healthy appetites esp Val and the Cellist

Val and the Cellist have both been in different bands before. Val was in a rock band that only lasted a summer when he was like 17-18 and then was part of a traditional salmonid music ensemble for a couple years before ω-3

As for the Cellist they’ve been through a couple different musical groups. They left most due to creative differences and not getting along with band mates.

This is the DJ’s first like. Band. Before this they just did solo gigs and posted stuff online

- i watch a bunch of streamers. mostly splatoon and minecraft stuff. dni if you don't like that i enjoy that stuff ig

- i like the qsmp. i watch tubbo mostly (tubbathon has taken over my life) but i also like a bunch of other qsmp characters

- i absolutely LOVE splatoon oh my gosh. i main tri-slosher and play salmon run most of the time. as for splatoon streamers i like, i watch hackerling most of the time.

- i watched a lot of hermitcraft, the life series, and empires over the past couple years. i'm not as into them now, but i'll still occasionally post about them

fWhip set his phone down on his desk before running out of his room and into Gem’s, where she was studying. 

She had headphones on, probably on a low volume and playing classical or calm music, and was bent over a sheet of paper, furiously writing something. She was clearly biting her tongue in the way she only does if she’s completely absorbed in what she was doing. Perfect.

He silently slipped into her room, closing the door behind him carefully, before grabbing the buzzing magnets he left in there last time he did this. He separated them before throwing them into the air and letting them clack together and buzz loudly.

Gem jumped up in her seat, magically-formed wings fluttering in shock, before turning around and fixing fWhip with a stern glare.“fWhip! You startled me!” 

“That’s the point.” he replied with a shit-eating grin.

Gem rolled her eyes before putting her headphones back on and putting them on a slightly louder volume. “I was studying for the test we’re going to have in science about how magic affects the laws of physics,” 

“Nerd.” he replied, his grin showing through his voice.

“Says the one in several robotics clubs.”

fWhip started walking out the door, and right before he left the room completely, he turned and said, “At least robots are actually cool,”

Gem simply sighed, and returned to her work. 

fWhip sighed. Lately, they had been slowly drifting apart, with Gem joining gifted classes at their school and being given more homework in general. She often stayed up for nights on end working on a project, and it was starting to worry him. He ran a hand through his too long hair.

Hopefully it would get better.

I am a revali and midna kin so I will joke blame the impulse purchase on this. For real though I think the gremlin part took over I want to be an absolute menace and do the dumbest stuff but fresh. I have botw for both wii u and switch and at first I played it like. Normal. Ig. And then I got it for switch and thought yknow what let's just go ham and never did I have more fun. I'm also not the worst player I think. Though I do tend to go full offensive in every single game with fights. Defense is something I do not know so yes I stack usually up on a lot of health items and die bc of stubbornness/boldness ✌🏻 or better said idk shielding. Dodge rolling or similar is smth I v much do (splatoon dark tetra dualies user bc I know otherwise I will not watch it. Do I die w the wrong weapons a lot in salmon run shifts mmmmaybe). Effects? What's that (I will never enter pkmn tournaments. If the attack doesn't do damage will it not get learnt and I only know healing items. It's kinda funny how pkmn is the only game where I hate fighting bc like. yknow. I at the very least take accuracy into acc too alright).

I would joke oh I will die so much but honestly I got faith in myself. Even if the only reason is luck or a fuck ton of items. And even if the deaths will be fun so hey.
