Hate how people are going on about how “the doctor is queer now!” as if the doctor hasnt been intentionally and unintentionally with various degrees of explicitness, portrayed as non-binary, as well as ace- and aro-spec for decades, from both writers and the actors portraying them. i have decided to say fuck it, there is no "right" way to come out and if i keep waiting for the perfect moment it's never going to come. so. i'm sending my sister an email instead that she probably won't even see until tomorrow. i'm going to hit send right after hitting post. i am VERY anxious but that was always going to be the case. i know she'll be accepting, but i am fully coming out to her, name and pronouns and everything, and that's a whole other can of worms than her just sorta-kinda knowing i'm non-binary* :'))))))))

I like f/m skk ships when done right. Sure transfem is awesome and all, but I as a mostly feminine nb lesbian would like to point out that skk is a FANON gay ship, if your entire ship falls apart if one of them is gender swapped maybe that's a you problem. To me gender doesnt exactly matter outside of exploring themes that are influenced by the visible appearance of a character or silly what if scenarios. It really says something if your argument against people making skk f/m is "it takes away their whole dynamic" or "why are you making them het". Did you know 2 bi people of opposite genders can be in a relationship and still be bi? Do you know gender fluidity exists and some people do use their assigned at birth pronouns interchangeably with neutral ones? Did you know people can and will fetishize trans characters just as much as "het" ones?

A massive chunk of the fem Dazai/ bottom Dazai content I have seen turns him into this whimpering pathetic mockery of subservient poundee. But people want to tell me people only ever make fem chuuya aus cause they wanna fetishize the short long haired hyper masculine dude? Ya'll want me to be cool with people attacking others for having aus where one of them acts or likes to dress feminine? Over a fictional non canon ship? A measly 12 m/f out of 20k gay fanfics about a fictional non canon ship will not suddenly come to my door and tell me I no longer have rights as a gay woman. Someone's m/f headcanon is not gonna personally destroy rep for society, nobody is violating your right to exist and consume queer media simply by reading/writing a cis version of a gay ship. A ship btw that isn't even real rep outside of our reading as fans and what subtext there is.

And where is this anger and holier than though behaviour when the same is done to Sigma or Nikolai? They are also long haired men being drawn as women with fetished bodies and in lingerie. Nobody seems to be throwing hissy fits about fem Nikolai's primary personality in fanart being having gigantic knockers and wearing revealing camel toe hugging skintight outfits and everyone and their mother will defend every single sketch of Sigma being drawn as a woman and then turn around to harass, hound and doxx people for daring to do the same to Chuuya.

Gender and sexuality is fluid as fuck but people who come at queer artists and writers for making seemingly cis art or writing m/f aus of ships are imo major red flags.

Rant Lesson 20 (Obey me Nightbringer under the cut) and NB in general.

Fair warning: I had a really bad day and I'm sleep deprived and overworked so I wasn't able to mince my words.

I had a really small hope that NB will learn from the OG's mistakes and grow past it and make a better game that caters to its audience but lesson 20 Normal was severely underwhelming. They went for the "safe" side again and made everyone fight for the MC's affections as a wrapup for this season.

They were doing so well on making the romantic scenes optional and the interactions with the characters a lot less forced but with the abrupt end of season 1, it the sudden transition to everyone just falling in love with MC again felt like a whiplash. What happened to the nuance? The character development? Why are the characters...so tropey? It didn't use to be like that in the earlier lessons.

They were doing so well on making a better paced game but the past daily texts as well had forced romantic options and an MC that is really hard to relate to especially if you Stan specific characters (say what you will about NB being Solomon-centric, but boy am I not feeling it in the latter lessons. Was Solomon even there? Most of his content were off-screen. It was so frustrating. I hate the fandom sometimes and how they treat him). The only opportunity you can get to interact with him is the medal scene.

Then they had this brilliant idea to hide the only interesting thing that happened in lesson 20 in hard mode!!

I'm done. I'm so done with this game. It's literally going back to its old habits. The poorly paced events are even worse with the absence of the 150 DV sales and the higher pity requirement for cards and Skill Levels to unlock full bloom.

But I find it a little unfair Lucifer gets an individual spotlight along with Mammon but they can't seem to do it for Solomon and even Simeon!! Remember that Smash Bros event in the OG where they said Barbatos was the star but it turned out to be Belphie instead? Wtf is wrong with this game?

I'm so glad I had plans not to continue playing this. I feel so bad for the fans that will choose to stay despite all that's happening.

I agree with your list ! People being asshole about lesbian & other headcanons gtfo! That list could work for many other things too.

But to be sure everyone don’t mix thing up i just want to point out that not liking/ not being fan of an headcanon don’t equal  being an ass about it. It’s the mean actions or words afterwards that are bad. 

hey! i’m glad you found it generalizable. there’s a lot of things on there that get used against pretty much any “diverse” perspectives both inside and out of fan spaces. as for your second point, i don’t disagree with you. there are some queer headcanons that i don’t personally hold, but i’m going to be cheering them on rather than contributing to the negativity we face on a regular basis. you can personally hold a different headcanon without being a jerk.

this is not @ you anon, but there are a lot of people who believe that underrepresented groups seeing themselves in characters — whether through the lens of race, gender, sexuality, disability, etc — is “politicizing” fandom and ruining it somehow, as though a white/cishet/male/abled perspective is the default in art and anything else is “tainting” the “pure” fanspace. some of them might believe those voices can exist — so long as they keep their heads down and don’t take up too much space. the fact of the matter is that’s a bigoted thing to believe. our existence has been politicized against our will. for the marginalized, fan spaces are just another front we have to push to participate in. if someone finds themself constantly disliking one specific type of queer/nonwhite/disabled/etc. headcanon and feels the need to say over and over how much they don’t like it, they ought to seriously interrogate why that is.
