ok you know what im gonna say it with my full chest. literally nobody talks about bendy (the character) like who he actually is and ive been tired of it since the old game ended. i think hes genuinely one of the most incorrectly fanonized characters like ever at this point. and i genuinely believe it changed the actual canon and it bothers me a lot.

as for the physical version of him/ the ink demon— in the original batim game there was literally a whole plot point about bendy being non-human and how he came out of the machine physically and mentally sloppy compared to the other creations. hes not a fully fledged-out person and that’s LITERALLY an entire section of the original game. he has no human soul or mind, hes sentient but about as much as a gorilla. he attacks like a zombie or an animal with instinct and not like an angry human being. he cant speak because his mouth is fake and he cant walk properly because his limbs are liquid sludge— hes literally an abomination— a mockery of actual human life. its crazy to even call him the “villain” of the story because he doesnt have the thinking ability to genuinely be malicious. its like calling zombies the villains of zombie movies, they cant be because they dont have the brain function to be.

So, Kyogre is a whale-like Legendary water-type Pokemon that possesses the ability to expand the oceans and create storms. It battled with it's rival Groudon (another legendary Pokemon that has the ability to expand continents). It is believed to be the personification of the sea itself and is also described as the creator of the ocean in mythology. A powerful Pokemon, it has control over the water and rain. It is hailed as a savior for quenching areas of the world plagued with drought. Kyogre is able to fly and generally lives deep in the ocean, resting in a deep trench.

Kyogre is normally very calm and peaceful until it meets it's rival, Groudon.

The main "characters" on this show kill people with barely any care. I knew I should be worried that two people who do creative writing in show business like Steven Blackman and MCR would try and cross moral lines and of course they did. and the worst part is theyre paid to do it.

but theyre nowhere near as bad as the fans who glorify killing for free.

you wont believe some of the fics ive seen when voluntarily browsing through the TUA tags, and most of the time i dont even read the tags or filter them out, because whats the point I cant escape it. i guess i need to see it repeatedly day after day to even believe its real. if i dont go looking for it, then i might forget it exists.

(as is everyone I've mentioned, naturally)

ANYWHO OCS LORE LETSSS GOOOO BECAUSE HOLY CRAP THERES A LOT TO THESE TWO SPECIFICALLY

Aight so Lea Maniac, the queen, the girl boss herself. We stan a lovely bartender who can kick ass.

Had this character since 2018-2019 I believe(?) She started off as an Animaniacs ocs, a babysitter to the Warners and basically acted as their "Cool Mom Who Choses Violence on Anyone Who So Much as Glances at Her Kids Wrong". In Animaniacs-verse, her backstory was that she was created in 1929-ish from a studio named Syntax Maniac for a series of cartoons titled "Toon Mania" (which was the beta title for "Topsy-Turvy Toons" at the time). Lea was and still is someone who could keep up with the Warners' zany antics, alongside her fiance at the time, Loreto Wolfe. Her and Bugs had a very sibling-like dynamic in their friendship.

Now though, she's a toon whose got her own universe and her own friends, family, and origins without being tied to other pre-existing media (though there are many references to staples in animation history)

Lea Maniac is the eldest of 3 sisters, the two younger ones, LeeMay and Maylee, being twins. Daughter of Mr. Maniac (William "Bill" Maniac) and Mrs. Maniac (Claire Doug-Maniac) who were some of the first "living cartoons" featured in early shorts by Syntax Maniac Studios back in the late 1920's, but by no means famous. No one had even heard of this studio and was often losing animators to work on their shorts.

It wasn't until September 15th, 1941 that Lea Maniac made her first debut in the short "Devil Dog Darlin' " that the studio began to gain recognition and Lea became the unofficial face of Syntax Maniac Studios. She co-starred with her now Husband(tm), Loreto Wolfe, but at the time the two weren't even friends, just mere coworkers who happened to share the same set of creators. Originally, the animators had designed Loreto to be a woman and Lea's rival until Loreto approached one of them (lead animator, Lowell Mantei - who was also responsible for Lea's creation) in hopes of a redesign. From then, the script for on-screen was changed from the two being rivals, to lovers.

Off-screen Lea struggled at home, William (someone she refuses, even to this day, to ever call "Dad") was an abusive, alcoholic, asshole to both his own wife and children (not gonna specific what exactly the abuse entailed because it's genuinely distressing). She also struggled "fitting-in" to society because of how "unlady-like" and "wacky" she was compared to some of the other toons (and ya' girl was very much breaking gender roles and stereotypes of all kinds whenever she could, especially in the 40s, both on and off set).

It wasn't until one day after filming that Loreto happened to stumble upon a very distraught Lea Maniac, who was just so tired and scared of going back to living under the same roof as her father... but despite all of it,, she cares about her family, her sisters... even if they hate her even all these years later..

The two Co-Stars slowly became friends and in the late 1950s, they begin dating (and were on and off for a few years, experimenting with their orientations, etc...) It wasn't until 1964 that they officially got married. They still are happily in love with each other to this day.

Though over the years, even before the two ever started dating, Lea always had a serious alcohol and smoking problem. It had only gotten worse since she was let-off by the studio after an accident left parts of her body scarred (Syntax Maniac Studios would seen shut down in the 70s). Despite it all, she genuinely tries to improve upon these habits of hers, and Loreto is nothing short of supportive of his wife (and vice-versa). Lea is always willing to lend a shoulder to cry on for her husband. The two of them want to someday adopt kids of their own, it's a goal that motivates Lea to work on her issues.

Loreto owns a bakery that is popular to the local townsfolk. Lea works as a bartender at The Vintage Delirium, she loves all her coworkers dearly (even if they completely ban her from taking a sip lol) and her buddy, Edward Ponds, is always a blast to hang out with on any day of the week.

Lea and Loreto live in Wackyville and across from their street live two foster kids, Lilly Goats and Barbara "Barbie" Bunny. They love Lea's stories from her's and Loreto's early acting days (and of course all the sweets Loreto gives them).

ALRIGHT ITS MARLEY TIME BABYYYYY ITS THE GIRL'S TIME TO SHINE WOOO

So my girl, Marley Solano, is a 17 yr old, Cuban-American, lesbian, whose been in the foster care system since she was 5 years old, and sees the best in everyone. She's also something called a "Heaven's Blessing".

At this point in her life, she doubts she'll ever find her "forever home" given how shit the system is (plus, it's not like she remembers what her parents were even like anyways). Despite her circumstances, she is a Straight A student and is nothing short of determined to make it to college. She refuses to be another statistic in the shit system (look as a former foster kid, I've got BEEF with how awful it is so forgive me for projecting a bit)

Marley loves baseball, she never goes anywhere without her prized baseball bat. It's the one possession she has that is actually HERS and she'll be damned if she let's anyone take it from her.

Her latest home is with a family of five: A Husband, A Wife, and their 3 middle school kids.

They're not the worst family she's been with, at worst they just seem to treat her like an unwanted pet or just ignore her existence entirely. That's fine. She's totally fine. It's not like she wishes they were more involved with her life or anything. Totally not wishing for that at all whatsoever. Nope.

Marley is always trying out for baseball teams when it's season, she always makes the team, but can never stick with them given how often she transfers school. Any bond she's had with teammates is usually shattered within a month or two.

This time though, seems longer, granted her team this time is not as welcoming to her, but its a nice change. Outside of baseball and academics, Marley takes cares of stray cats in the street. One night, she finds this little black stray cat, trapped and with an injured eye. She treats him and the little cat leads her to a secluded patch of trees behind an abandoned building.

She visits the little cat often, it's the closest thing she has to a pet. She names him "Knight" for how fearless and protective he is of Marley whenever other strays wonder too close to her. Like a little knight in shining armor.

One day, on her visit to Knight, she hear crying from inside the small secluded building. Of course, Marley goes to check it out.

In it, she meets Andria Skyes, another student from the same school she recently transferred to.

Andria had been chased by a group of bullies from their school for "being a witch" in their sick, usual game of "Witchhunting". She has no shame is calling herself a witch, her tearful frustration comes from being tired of having to "deal with it", having to do so since middle school. This was essentially the straw that broke the camel's back.

Marley reaches out to her... and Andria holds on.

The two become friends very shortly after. Andria even begins developing a crush on the other a month and a half later, with Marley's crush on Andria starting at the 2 months point lol

They take care of Knight together, Andria being the one to take him into her home. Marley visits often.

Two and a half months into their friendship, they admit their feelings to each other and share their first kiss. The two are fiercely protective of the other. And... there's something that Andria has noticed about Marley (besides the literally Rosy-Pink eyes)... it's how she physically responds to places that have spiritual attachments to them. Like say a church...

Every time the two have crossed the town church on the way to Andria's house, Marley feels revulsion to the point of nausea and sickness.

Another thing she noticed was Marley's lack of showing bare skin below the neck, including the palms of her hands. Andria figured she just didn't like showing skin and wouldn't ever budge, but she got an answer from Marley, who had decided one day to be vulnerable and show Andria her heavy scarring.

Marley has never willingly let anyone see all the scars that mark every inch of her body... until Andria. The weird thing about her scars, especially the oldest ones were that they were shaped like crucifixion crosses. Marley herself doesn't even know where they come from and frankly, she doesn't ever want to find out.

Marley is a character of mine who is heavily associated with religious imagery, the cross being the main one she is often seen with. With Marley, it represents that someone is watching over her. Despite all her struggles and feelings of worthlessness in times of weakness, someone has been seeing and hearing her. Even if she herself doesn't believe in the idea of "guardian angels" or faith in supposedly all-powerful supernatural beings in general.

Months after her and Andria are well into their relationship, Marley one day is on her way to her foster home from Andria's house, only to fall through a fucking portal (conveniently) leading to another dimension outside the "natural realm".

Marley suddenly find herself stuck in one of the dimensions between Hell, Heaven, and Earth, which she will come to find out is called the "Realm of Cryptids and Creatures" where every supernatural legend originates from (and occasionally leaks into the Natural Realm) they are all of Heaven and Hell's rejects that escaped going to the VoidFall Dimension, where if you stay long enough, your entire existence will erode away, all traces will be lost forever. If you have a soul however, this process is infinitely more painful as the soul resists being extinguished.

It is in the Realm of Crypids and Creatures that Marley Solano will meet The Lost Messenger, Evangelos.

He had hid from the eyes of Heaven over thousands of years ago, when Creator began having thoughts of making something called "Heaven's Blessings"... humans whose souls are one portion of a fallen angel. Incredibly rare to come across.Their sole life's mission is to grant a specific miracle to one fully human soul, should they die before they complete this miracle they will be doomed to reincarnation until they complete it. Should they succeed however. They are granted access to Paradise, but even this is even more rare. Their human lives are full of sorrow and suffering, the two parts of their souls constantly wailing in agony and react very strongly to spiritual corruption. Marley's case is no different.

Evangelos, however, had been watching over Marley from the Realm of Cryptids and Creatures since the minute she took her first breath on Earth.

He'll admit he's grown attached to the kid.

EPISODE 80 REVIEW (BC I AM LOSING MY MIND)

spoilers for the newest episode of aot (obviously)

as a manga reader i rly dont think this chapter couldve been adapted any better - the music, the darker, rustic art style, the voice acting and animation?? all so so incredible, top-tier. i think this is the high point of P2 so far.

ymir fritz has been one of my fav characters since i read the manga😭 you know you've written a great character if she has no speaking lines and yet her story still conveys itself so powerful - ymir's entire premise is that she was a slave. she suffered senseless violence and lived a life as a concubine for 13 years after having her tongue cut out.

aot draws many parallels b/n historia and f.ymir's characters, obviously. in one of the screencaps, f.ymir was holding her pregnant belly in the exact way historia was - and tho i don't rly understand why isayama (creator of aot) ever took historia in this direction in season 4, it's a very tragic turn of events for the girl who 104th ymir commanded to live for herself. im not sure, we'll see.

there were so many moments where the visual storytelling, the silence really said it all. i had chills throughout ymir's entire backstory - especially when she was blamed for releasing a pig (a conflict so senseless which is conveyed by the fact that it wasn't showed on screen) and fritz told her she was 'free' - to be hunted. not unlike faya, grisha's sister, when he took her beyond the internment zone for the first time when they were kids.

it rly rounds out aot's themes. from the very beginning, it has always been a conflict between being slaughtered by the titans and 'becoming free' by killing them, when in reality, the titans were eldians too - those subject to a long nightmare (as 104th ymir put it in S2).

it rly puts into perspective how senseless it was for her to be revered. she never seeked out the power of the titans as much as it was (seemingly) a parasite that sensed her desperation and latched onto her. without knowing any other way to live, ymir continued serving fritz bc she desperately wanted to be loved (as shown by this screencap)

so, when she sacrificed herself for fritz, perhaps to ymir the greatest act of love, and he told her nothing more than to get up - despite her powers she didn't want to go on anymore. she chose to escape to a place free from suffering, but free from love as well: Paths. she's always been a slave.

when i first saw the manga panel revealing Sina, Rose and Maria?? god what a shock. naturally, the anime rly cut down on the gore in this panel (warning for that)

when eren talked ymir into rebelling against zeke (and by extension, her existence as a slave) - showing her eyes for the first time... god it was so powerful to me. as someone who could never show her agony before, not once, who could never bare her soul - it's just incredible.

it rly felt like this episode was 5 min long. thats a testament to how good it was for me😭

also, armin and mikasa were so funny✋ im sorry. armin still choosing to believe that eren had good intentions even when the wall titans started walking is insane to me - it shows just how much trust armin put in him. it's honestly tragic.

on the bright side, zeke stans rly ate in this episode (as usual bc zeke doesn't like to wear clothes, apparently). god he looks so good.

a final note: eren's speech at the end, holy fuck it's so intimidating/awesome?? he's objectively a horrible person about to do monstrous things, but i got so many chills. the fact Mappa decided to adapt one of the most iconic panels from this arc just as it was felt so good:

So this story has two parts. Or four parts depending how you look at it 🧐

Part One: Naia and Firefighter Jimin

So I personally was obsessed with the concept of firefighter bangtan from all the way in 2017 when I first read this fic on ao3 named "Shots Fired," a bit after it came out during a break/time off from school (maybe spring break or summer vacation?). It's a firefighter Taehyung fic but it also features firefighters Jimin and Jungkook as side characters 🥲. And after I read that fic I really got hung on the concept of firefighter Jimin and I even asked the creator on twitter in like 2019 (at which point she still hadn't posted a Jimin story) if she would ever post the Jimin story? Cuz she left it open ended in the way that she might. And obviously... I was inspired by her fic, I'm not gonna write about a firefighter Jimin when I could just as easily read that in a sequel by her right? But she said that she wasn't really into writing bts fics anymore and she didn't even do commissions so there really was no future for firefighter Jimin in her eyes at that point in time. So that's kind of the point where I started like fleshing out my own concept which has changed over the years because mostly I was trying to develop a character that can still be seen as like oh this is based on Park Jimin from BTS but it's not like... I styled him after eclairdeluxe's Jimin? And also y'all know that I write really slow and it took me like three years to write Blood Runs Pure. SO GUESS WHAT LOL. You were actually supposed to get firefighter Jimin this year for Feb 2021, but as you know I didn't post any fics until like April this year so he got pushed back to Feb 2022. It's actually really fortunate that this happened in a way because now... you can read it as a part of this collab!

Parts Two & Three: Yannie and Sammy with Firefighters Jungkook and Taehyung

I'm totally exposing @ressjeon rn. But if you must know, Yannie has a sexy firefighter in her life she's been seeing (or not seeing 🙄) for the better part of 2020 and 2021 who has heavily influenced her firefighter Jungkook and lit a fire 🔥 (pun intended) for her to novelize him and write out all her sexy unresolved (IM SORRY) feelings about him in the form of a very sexy smoot 🥵. As for @chateautae , I don't know the exact date that Sammy began planning it since we've only been friends for a year and it's entirely possible she started planning it before we even started talking but I do know that she was heavily planning a secret Taehyung birthday fic for several months that was called "Heart of a Flame" but it wasn't until like June/July that she told me about him being a firefighter along with the plot and I told her about my Jimin idea I also had been developing for a long time. 😇

Parts Four: The Collab 🚒

So will you believe me and my dumb 🤡 brain had separate conversations with Sammy and Yannie for several months about their firefighters while telling them about my firefighter and I didn't think to tell them about each other until like September? Like Yannie would tell me about the irl firefighter and like how she would wanna write a fic about it and Sammy and I were planning on doing like a very loose collab like it could be a collab if you wanted to see it that way but it wouldn't be a formal collab that you had to acknowledge tho we both wanted it to be same universe. WELL MY BRAIN FINALLY GOT IT TOGETHER ONE DAY AND TOLD THEM ABOUT EACH OTHER AND LIKE HEYY WE'RE ALL WRITING MAKNAE LINE FIREFIGHTERS INDEPENDENTLY AT THE SAME TIME ISNT' THAT A HUGE COINCIDENCE LET'S MAKE A COLLAB. 👨🏻‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒👨🏻‍🚒

And then we decided to post the masterlist on Sammy's blog because unlike Yannie and I who are both writing one shots, Sammy is planning a three parter that will be completed and posted before either of us post our fics it's somewhat more convenient for her to have the masterlist on her blog where she can edit and add her links at whatever time she wants than having to go to me or Yannie about it since I'm also not even in the same time zone.

2. This is the issue with these shows. No one is saying that fucked up shit cannot be shown. I have no desire for that film—i think it’s by a man and i extra dont care—but I hear it’s sort of powerful for many. I heard it was a good film. But the act itself is always eschewed and the conflict comes from how fucking ridiculous it is especially finding out that she knows. The power imbalance adn the possibility. They may not have handled it in a way I would have cared for but it was there.

There’s simply no imagination because these people do not care that much and aren’t great writers and filmmakers because they simply do not have to be. Sorry.

The industry doesn’t rely on the best they rely on efficiency (this is everywhere.) You can tell by the camera angles, the editing, the camera itself (idk if it is multicam but the flatness is typical soap flatness without the glowboxes to soften their faces.) Simple constant lighting. Now the surroundings are mostly beautiful. But even to some of the costumes. And those edits are abysmal, some of that camera work.

So with all that said even with the couple I extremely enjoy I see its (H4) faults. Add into that a lazily thrown together “shocking” love and if they are trying to get us to feel a type of way about its sexiness they fail. This is why movies like 50sog, 365 days, etc aren’t enjoyable to people because it’s fucking strange situations that they dont want to entangle or make enjoyable to viewers across the board. They know what people will take. It’s just that bitch what are we here for if even the sexiness isn’t there for ur stupid story.

At least with that teenager and 30 yr old man in MODC (which i do not love but i like them in theory if it wasnt totally repulsive to me and also if it was developed in a way that was good TO ME) they had their, er, “sex appeal” i talk about this as well the main couple in MODC to me, visually, was a miss. Not bc whatshisface was small and stuff but bc he was so sickly and they needed that to propel the story but it was just not appealing given how the story progressed. A missed opportunity in tying the two together besides making him look waif-y and sickly only to have the “did ur mom die in a car crash? No, cancer” type of move in not another teen movie. But the opposite. And not funny. Wayne tho????? GORL. Eggs. Cracked.

fandoms have a very warped sense of harrassment and discourse.

Most fandoms have harassers who are “protecting” the cast and crew who don’t need their protection (or maybe the crew does since they probably dont get paid well but why the fuck would anyone care about that lol) but very few have the people who have concerns or massive critique about the show are not going to be “bullying.”

If people are saying “if you like xyz, u suck” then sure it may suck for you to see but who fucking cares. Either talk to the person or don’t be friends with them. That is not bullying or harrassment. Things that are shitty get criticized. Fuck, things that aren’t shitty don’t. Get away from this idea of cancel culture and people misunderstanding the story. We have the ability to.

Antiblackness

Antiblackness is a thing. It permeates everywhere. It permeates in this genre and it permeates in fandom. Get it the fuck together. Also do not conflate cultural relativism with being repsectful. They are not barbarians, they are smart human beings either making work or deciding to. We all have diff cultures but we have fucking sense in what is respectful and not. And if we don’t we fucking learn. You cannot excuse things and say “oh culture” when you have 0 idea of that culture or actual people who are radical etc and are fighting against it. Additionally the word westerner is an ignorant term when referring to people in the US or UK who are black. Because we are not. We extend sympathy to other groups and empathy since we know so there is no inherent power imbalance between a black viewer and their subject. Don’t suggest that because it’s wrong and ahistorical and contextless.

FIRST the fallacy of representation as freedom makes people fucking complacent, individualistic, and doesn’t let them think critically. Consumption and discourse around consumption is not helping material conditions of the marginalized communities in your home, the black ones who are ignored, those intersectionalized in these communities. Groups talk about art and what it means for them outside of just what we see and because we also don’t have access to a bunch of Thai reviews or what movements or going on we are less likely to know if we don’t FUCKING SEARCH for it. Because art is constant...which leads me to....

Representation is difficult. It matters and it doesn’t.

Tthese shows are not meant to overturn the LGBTQ+ community.

There are queer filmmakers and artists in these countries. Deep illustrious film careers or even TV that is moving and deliberate. We can even see it with the dude from “your name engraved” in their short series he was in beforehand. BL is no wa pejorative because it is simply not “qu**r” storytelling whatever that means. But know it has always existed everywhere and there are also out artists or radical artists in all these countries who do no respect mediums that are cash-grabs and poorly made.

ex: As much as “Like in the Movies” sort of isnt for me and is a bit hamfisted you can tell how much love goes into that. Love of the characters, acting, and message. Yes it’s cringey to see some of the lines (like very tbh subtlety wasnt exactly their strong suit) and yea naming them after lenin and marx is just 0ihgoaudgijposkagjihou BUT GUESS WHAT? THEY FUCKING DID IT. THEY TRIED. And class was a large component as well bc u cant fuckin ignore it. The show is aware of the machinations in its world as a show but also in the philippines and for a fuckin reason. And duatarte? Loooooooool so like yea not so sure bl makes him love his ppl but the show isnt trying to do that

It’s not a transgressive genre and it has no reason to be. No ethical anything under the way we live it’s just trying your fucking best to be. That’s it. They serve societal ills and capital’s purposes. Which is fine but it is not revolutionary.

These countries in SEA or even SA do not have as big budget for even mainstream dramas—though things are changing and that’s bc REVENUE like revenue from kpop is fucking huge for SK and again so much about that is bc of what happened in their history from japanese imperialism to WWII to the US—so for “queer” stuff it is sort of now important to make that an export and it sure is one. Not only globally or to the west but a lot of these places make their money within asia (duh!) outside of their countries. OBVIOUSLY. so BL is a way to output and gain money. The thing is, it doesnt seem to be put back into the industry at all. For people in all these countries to make works that aren’t for mainstream or wont reach as many people there’s a difference between trying and just shoving shit in your face and going here it’s gay you like it right? But dont antagonize the inherent patriarchal nature of BL.

Another thing: did you guys know thailand was never colonized? You should look it up. There’s little hints of things in ITSAY to represent french influence still. Isnt that fascinating? Find out why. It’s certainly interesting that the representation, though damaging and dubious many times and also incorrect like any media, is huge in asia and this isnt a commodity here (the US) exactly. A lot of that has to do with colonial ideas of gender of which I am sure. But listen………lmao

Een within the capitalist Bs paradigm or you can see people trying (I can sort of applaud parts of lovely writer) also queer media has always existed everywhere the reason you don’t know about it is because it gets takena nd commodified into a mainstream product. We hvae little incentive, particularly if we are not fans of cinema or art in gen, to search fror others when the output is right here. Being dictated by others and the state and who will give you money. No longer an effort of a cast and crew who want to convey things. But google [any country] independent cinema, radical cinema, queer radical cinema, or even retrospectives on the cinema and rethinking what is queer and radical in film. What if we took that, diluted it, got rid of the creators who put themselves through all the work, ignroe al the nuances and do……………….two actors who are conventionally attractive with no chemistry making out.

It’s the same here lets say daniel kaluuya winning the oscar for the film about the BPP. I heard it was okay and not too offensive but it still isnt’ enough. It still isn’t like hwood isn’t trash, nnati black, misogynistic towards BW and women, and all that other shit. It was pushy but it can’t be enough where we are. Black KKKlansmen i think won an oscar, by circumstance i fuckin hate these award shows they mean nothing, and i like the film a lot but he has his misogynoir still resting in his films even if it is poignant. Considering a lot of these actors are rich and then just dip that’s another problem. Mainstream isn’t what sustains marginalized art ever. It doesn’t change in the vast ways we think it does. What changes is the people of these groups pushing, fighting, forcing and then capitalism trying to make it work under capitalism. It will not. It cannot.

This is why artists and labels often don’t mix or you see people like Sonic Youth doing whatever they want and pissing off their label but making them give them money. Same with Nirvana. Vince Staples. The thing is they can fight and make good shit but what capitalism helps people….not care? They don’t respect the audience? We’re getting those returns on poor executed product placement, lighting, editing, framing, fucking acting. And you surewon’t see mixed black asians in these shows. WHY R U is the oNLY one i have seen it in and he just disappears (but that was pretty cool.) so who the fuck is this representing? And before you start: asian countries are not homogenous the way we believe them to be. There are marginalized communities outside of even mixed people that are harmed. So you can skrrt cause on that one: you’re wrong buddy. But it gives us the IDEA of a paradise which is what they NEED.With representation and visibility comes consequence and responsibility as artists. What it allows them to do is coast and not think complexly because why should they; it’s mostly the fantasies of some older woman who probably has money and much less interaction with the world. It’s bonkers. And what that allows even further is for them to say YOU ARE THE THING THAT YOU CONSUME and the THING THAT YOU CONSUME IS YOURS. It is not, it is not your identity, form a close bond but figure it the fuck out. Especially for adults who are hellbent on twisting their minds into pretzels and can’t acknowledge what’s just laziness in art and not giving a fucking shit. Truly.

There’s damage that has been done from Parasite as he was supported by CJE&M and the bullshit obsession america had and eveyrone’s poor interpretation of it if they are rich. BJH is a socialist and he is a filmmaker. He has made films that are outstanding and cost a lot of money. But now a fear for indie filmmakers is just not being able to raise that much or have that much attention. Getting funding that helps them instead of expecting the Next Big Thing that is a fad because capitalism is trash. Yes this funneling of money is absolutely harmful to us artists. Even buying in is strategic. Additionally, that film is probs one of the most radical films to have that wide release and accolade (unlike “Sorry to Bother You” which i have a lot of thoughts about. One being that asian exports are acceptable but black ones are not. This is an overall art critique and global media critique. Blackness is removed, not respected.) However, filmmaking isn’t green, it can’t be socialist, and it’s a lot of work. They used tons and tons and TONS of water to do a huge beautiful feat but we still know there is a cost. We have to figure that out because it shouldn’t be. It doesn’t go back into the crew’s pockets the way it should and the work becomes that of the director’s and actors solely. It’s fucking hard. We have to do our part but it doesn’t mean we are doing it perfectly. We just have to try to do better. So does BJH cos he needs to not be a misogynist but anyways i digress.

additionally and this is something some users fail to understand: people in the media sphere generally have fucking money. I went to film school that was international with super fucking rich kids. Taiwanese kids, kids from south asia, china, thailand. They had money. No not upper middle class money, not “rich” money, not some paltry 1m that’s chump change. Fucking money. Fucking RICH-RICH. MILLIONAIRES. BILLIONAIRES. WHICH IS DISGUSTING MIGHT I ADD. The domestic people didn’t have the money for school (in the UK) and i am in a massive amount of debt like every other black student that went there. You do not understand how much money is needed to survive so people who turn to these crew positions even casting etc need this fucking money usually. OKAY. A lot of the people that do well in these dumb shows or even on a larger scale HAVE MONEY. The reason these industries are small and struggling is because of lack of people and lack of resources to independent shit because oh gee it takes money to make things.

Why should I try? Well you don’t have to really if you have money or a name. Yet...

We can tell when like those Tik Tok shows or DCOMs dont give a shit (anymore.) You know how frustrated we get when content for young people is garbage? Well, see, BL is literally that under that system. Occasionally we will get something good now but there is virtually no need in any sector in the world at this point to truly figure out how to make it better and what to do to enhance artistic literacy, outreach, teaching people new things, getting people from these communities there and having true realistic says. Art and culture is IMPERATIVE TO WORLD LIBERATION but not when it is so stiffly trying to bend to capital’s idea of progressiveness. No. Neoliberalism. No.

That’s why in a way ITSAY is a huge feat; it takes from films etc and they clearly had money (the actors rae rich too which….lmaooooo j’aime pas) but it was a respected fucking script, acting was important, blocking, framing. There’s very little to critique as a visual medium for that because I understand what they are trying to do, their market is going to be mostly young girls, but they RESPECT THE FUCKING AUDIENCE. And guess what guys? You can make money from it!!!! WOAH! Since that may be the only goal which is disgusting and repulsive.

HOWEVER AND THIS IS WHAT IS SAD: itsay is an ex of a great show however knowing the actors backgrounds and the pseudo trouble it stirred when they weren’t supporting people protesting against the coup in the summer it really put a damper on my enjoyment. And this is how we can see that:

a) it’s honestly just a show and a good one but b) now what?

These kids (actors, who are like idk 19? 20?) are rich and not saying anything while countless actors, who were filming, did. Even tul who has $$$$ and the thing is the protesting against the coup legitimately attacks the rich. As it should. The protests going on were cries for help, against a dictatorship and fucking coup, asking people to get fucking help for covid, having kids be able to live. There’s a mini on VICE about this and it probably doesnt go too in depth but there’s a kid in there who talks about his friends getting into drugs and how he just wants to make music, have fun, skateboard. And it’s harrowing to see. This is a direct example of what these things do and don’t do. Yea we know a good show is here, we know growing up and slice of life, we know this is a bit of escapism and idealism but the idealism is reflected in the way these actors also choose to live their lives. So what progress? To who? For who? How is this helping me? What purpose does it serve? I say ITSAY serves its purpose as a piece and a glimpse into possibility of growing up but i do not say it antagonizes a broader issue that needs to be relevant in some sense but simply is not. It’s very singleminded and, well, it’s sort of like “besides my sexuality, what do i have to worry about?” But for real humans like....a lot. I do not respect their decision at all.

Why can’t we do our jobs and make something decent and respect our audience? No time, gotta make that sweet sweet sweet cash baybee. Look how progressive we are! Don’t look at history and material conditions. Thanks in advance, management.

History 4 does not have that respect. Many of these shows do not. Sometimes we hit good, sometimes we don’t. But in the end we cannot settle. And I won’t. If I am critiquing something I will not be shy and if I am meant to enjoy something as escapism then these shows NEED to highlight that and it’s rare sometimes (the best twins is a good reminder like that show is bad but man do i Brain Empty when i turn it on and i like that and there’s not much in it that makes me want to kill myself from annoyance but there are transphobic jokes i dont love however the whole show is a comedy about this dude’s crazy homophobic sister and she is constantly positioned as wrong and they talk about the aforementioned trans women as the actor was in drag. Interesting that they can manage that, huh?)

Oh btw.....taiwan has a very complicated history but ignore all the bad stuff it’s good now you can kinda sorta get married and stuff. KMT? You know how i learned that? I care about human beings and read about it lmao. I am not Taiwanese and look at that. So now I have historical and DIALECTICAL~**~*~****~*~*~ context so i can judge it as an artist, a black woman from america, and from the knowledge i have to pick up on their history to see if this fits into a broader picture besides the micro-one of sexuality on an individualized level. And this is kinda where it comes full circle: these shows are not you, you are not them, they do not exist in a vacuum because nothing does. The failure to critique now means continuing on as it has and it will still do so. History and time are not linear in the sense we think it is. Someitmes things are better, sometimes things feel more austere. We are not living under liberation though and these shows are not going to do so. So they are not US nor are they for a nebulous “us” of which the groups are all fractured and have diff opinions anyway (my opinion as a black american is going to vary from an asian woman’s say and that could really clash and i do not feel solidarity with all those in every community i am for several reasons.)

Anyway my dissertation is that I ilke Muren and LiCheng a lot a lot and i like how cute they are and how truly dumb li cheng is. This is an example of mostly good writing, decent actors, nice chemistry, and sort of a calmness to them. And I super enjoy how Muren is pretty forward with LC in the sense that being together is like very important to truly be together. When he was like “no i didnt forget!” Or when LC asked him something in the office I forget it was 6 am and again i almost threw up and muren nodded and then LC leaned on him. Very cute. I want more of them tho i may have to skip that othre couple (the cameo the ones from MODC) but omfg the younger one HIS HAIR GREW SO MUCH HE LOOKS SO MATURE AND CUTE OMFGIJ0HUG9SAOGIJPKOAGJSIOHUAGIJP hahhaha the one good thing i will say about THEM.idk how old the actor is i figure he was young idk it makes me happy to see him he’s very cute. Markiplier manor is toxic here’s why

So Markiplier manor (Markipliers official discord server) has gotten a surplus of new people in it, this happened a few weeks ago the manor itself though has been up for awhile. originally a members only server it was eventually opened up for everyone and yes there are alot of genuinely good people and the mods are alright but unfortunately its becoming a toxic environment. 

SO EDIT i have discussed with the mods that being said ... im keeping this up as a reminder of we can do better we can help people who are struggling through something instead of shutting them down we can listen to people who are being oppressed and bravely point out new media that only worsens that oppression and stigmatization and not just the mods who i was kind of harsh towards but who are human everyone as a community can do better and this is a large community think of the work we can do just doing the basics like boycotting problematic content and helping those who cry out for it who need it (and noticing and shutting down manipulative/toxic behaviors) ... i dont know if im going to go back to the manor yet tho im going to let this sit give it a week yall can agree or disagree but know that if you try to be an ass your going to get shut down and your feelings are going to get hurt 

lets start with the basics “triggering topics” triggering topics can be anything in particular but it generally means a topic that relates to another persons trauma. Now while it is important to acknowledge a persons trigger words and try to keep the conversation respectable ive also noticed people use it to shut down people who come on freaking out because their dealing with a stressful situation/something traumatic just happened. This has happened to me personally and to a friend with me it was about being pro choice and having to in short make that actual choice. i was discussing this in the bathroom because i (like anyone else who comes in with baggage) did not know about any pro choice discords at that moment and was afraid of being stigmatized or going onto a discord that says its a safe space only for it to be filled with trolls. Mark manor is labeled as a safe space and many people come on there looking for support with me no one told me that the topic was triggering to them (which apparently it was because a friend of theirs had to make the choice not her herself think what you will) they just went to a mod early on when i just found the server as a member a friend (who i wont name) had gotten.... assaulted majority of her werent online and as someone who has been there and yes when she told me it did trigger my own trauma she needed moral support... the mod shut her down and deleted her comments and didnt give her a pointer to any other discord where she could discuss the topic openly and get moral support and be pointed to resources (it actually took me ten minutes to find and confirm a lgbtq therapy chat earlier this year for another individual discussing mental health) this was before i had gotten on for that day but i noticed those messages and i contacted her when she told me what was up yea it triggered my memories and its not fun but I FUCKING HELPED HER i made sure she went to the police to atleast file a statement (while the police dont always help it is good to have it on file) i even made her a plush and shipped it out to her and i would do it again and again because its not good to basically tell another person to shut up because it triggers others not without atleast trying to help them find another fucking place and making sure their actually ok and in a physical safe place  next is them claiming the manor is a “safe space” a safe space is by definition  “ a place or environment in which a person or category of people can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm.” you would also think that the manor would be a safe space in the fact that marginalized and oppressed groups of people would be able to point out problematic content and have an open and free discussion about it and how it makes them uncomfortable. especially people of lgbtq community which alot of people in that chat are. yesterday (and this was what caused me to officially turn away from the server) in the patio (which is the members only chat) a Transgender individual pointed out the problematic content that is huniepop and how it fetishizes trans people as well as other minorities now this game i hear tries to make itself out as a “parody” .... its not its a sexual dating sim what would make it a parody is if sex noises were replaced with donkey sounds and the lewd pictures were replaced with poorly drawn doodles of tits or what have you its a game for incels marks hilarious when he plays it because he doesnt take the game seriously my issue isnt with him its with the developer. and if you did not know (which apparently people dont) the character poli is described as “a girl with a dick” the individual pointed this out because they felt like it dehumanizes them and paints them as nothing more than a fetish... and also apparently you can “choose” is poli is trans which kind of gives off the message that people can ignore trans peoples identity if it makes them uncomfortable... or if they dont sexualize them. and the muslim community is more or less in the same boat i come from the bible belt in usa im not muslim i am not trans but i do have a reason for standing with both and i will get to that in a bit so i was raised in a christian household in a christian setting like muslim women were basically told we cannot have sex and any sexual thought is sinful and we will be punished blah blah blah your even more closeted if your gay or bi because then you can face ... violence that being said to make the woman from the middle east hyper sexual like they did is kind of shitty even for a incel pleasing sex game. the individual who thought it would be ok to discuss this in the server because its labeled as a safe space and is generally “lgbtq” friendly thus believing he would have people agree and discuss ... was unceremoniously shut down by their peers and a mod was notified this person was not hostile maybe a bit frustrated because he wanted to talk about it and thought he would have this genuinely helpful conversation and people would listen and spread the word because to have problematic content be popular can isolate the oppressed group even more so WHEN NO ONE WANTS TO LISTEN TO THEM. if a group of marginalized people notice something problematic with content and you claim to be an ally of said group then you need to acknowledge and support what they say. they told him to go to twitter where he could potentially be bullied and written off ... because again its an INCEL PLEASING SEX GAME.(which means incels if you ever dealt with them will go and say anything to justify the game even using slurs and bullying) and to put the icing on the cake to change the topic they brought up robin ... i actually dont know who robin is as i dont really focus much on youtube creators personal stuff (it feels off for me to not personally know an individual but know their personal stuff without having actually talking to them its weird i know its a thing i have in my head) but apparently they recently came out as female and good for them im super proud of him and the patio members were discussing how they were proud of him as well for beginning to wear makeup and making themselves more feminine which would be great if they werent trying so hard to shut down the trans male who was trying to spread awareness on problematic stuff .... something he pointed out ... and something they gaslighted and said he was being hostile. really its almost as if they only care about trans issues when its someone famous discussing them  so what can we possibly do about huniepop being transphobic and the answer is very easy BOYCOTT IT like... yall were up in arms and boycotted jk rowling with snap and a turn do we only cancel the old and ugly? do we only cancel those who we dont think is funny? mark is not at fault he probably doesnt realize it and any comments made on the issue are talked down upon or drowned amongst other comments im not saying to cancel him im saying to cancel the game HARD. ignore the posts bitch at the dev demand refunds for your game. like consumers have infinitely more power than corps want to admit.  so you basically have a community that claims to be a safe space but only if you want to talk about sunshine and rainbows and its highly hypocritical of them to claim safety.  another thing is emotionally abusive/manipulative people hide in the server and the mods dont ever seem to acknowledge it. i cannot tell you how many times ive gotten into arguments with people who seems nice then turn into assholes then claim to be the victim when i or others go off on them. if you recognize my name you know i dont stand down when it comes to having a snarky or rude comment thrown at me if your going to be an ass were fighting i dont care how nice you seemed beforehand and you dont get to call a mod just because i actually stood up for myself or others sorry not sorry dont be a bitch nuff said.  now the autisitic community because infantizes and dehumanizes non verbal autistic people i am fortunate and unfortunate in not having to deal with much stigma unfortunate because i wasnt diagnosed until i was 17 alot of answers about my behavior could have been answered if i had been diagnosed earlier but considering society loves the quiet timid female and i functioned “well” for neurotypicals i was ignored. so yea you bet your ass im standing with them and raising awareness about huniepop and their was this one person when i mentioned this point i cant remember there name nor to do i give a shit about them because when i mentioned how autistic people ... how i was in the same boat with music by sia (again i advise that no one target the actress who was under contract target sia and please boycott her so she knows she cant get brownie points or money for a movie that stigmatizes who she claims she wants to “help” (*cough* profit off of *cough cough*) and only serves as a feel good movie for neurotypicals and ignorant people)  they said “i heard people who hated the movie i heard people who found it alright people are ALLOWED to like problematic content” ... and like ... does anyone else see the problem here? its not hard at all to boycott celebrities for making content  and im going to repeat this point  IF A GROUP OF MARGINALIZED, STIGMITIZED AND OPPRESSED PEOPLE CALL OUT
