COMMON BRAND(S): Guardian of the East Gate, Angel GENERIC NAME(S): Aziraphale

USES This medication is used to treat mood-related disorders ranging from depression to chronic loneliness and anxiety. It has also been proven effective in treatment of Compulsive Demonic Behavioural Disorder (CDBD) and Post Fall Stress Disorder (PFSD). The medication results in an overall improvement in mood (see Side Effects), morals, and lifestyle choices. This medication is sometimes described as a 'miracle-worker'. It is advisable to ensure that the correct dosage is taken at regular intervals. The doctor/God/Forces That Be may prescribe a lower dose at the start, gradually increasing frequency and amount over the course of millennia.

SIDE EFFECTS Documented side-effects include pining behaviour, severe withdrawal symptoms in case of suddenly stopping the medication, heart palpitations, stuttering or stammering, mood swings including irrational lashing out or defensive behaviour when faced with highly emotional situations, break-ups, misunderstands, obliviousness, amongst others. Despite the studies being limited to a single subject (see Crowley et. al. updated 2023) these effects are typically harmless in the long term. Life-altering effects may also be noted, including irretrievably falling in love, marriage, a positive character arc, tendencies to put oneself at risk to ensure continuation of medication, lifelong friendship, fate-defying romance and severe allergy to the idea of discontinuation of medication.

WARNINGS Casual or reckless consumption can be too fast for the medication, which will lessen its effects, leading to withdrawal symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms range from repeated indulging in CDBD and PFSD induced behaviours to alcoholism, depressive episodes, recklessness, listlessness, and prolonged car rides with no purpose. While the medication should not be consumed too fast, regularity is also advised. This is a long-term medication and not a short-term fix. Rare, short-term exposures will only worsen the side effects, withdrawal symptoms and may even reverse the drug effects.

PRECAUTIONS Ensure immortality so that the medication may be able to work its effect through the full course. Pre-existing trauma and heart conditions may require regular consultations with a therapist.

INTERACTIONS Drug interactions may change how the medication works or increase severity of side effects. This document does not include a comprehensive list of all drug interactions, please do adequate research and check instructions on the medication before proceeding with additional drugs. Aziraphale is known to have highly negative interactions with the toxin hellfire as well as the drugs Gabriel (only when sold as Supreme Archangel), Satan and Metatron (known toxin). Negative interference may occur due to most drugs from the class Heaven and Hell. Vague interference may occur with the drug class Homo sapiens.

OVERDOSE While less dangerous than withdrawal symptoms, overdose may lead to lack of personal space, miscommunication, and decrease in mood stability. Increased irritability is also common. Use with caution.

Alright lovelies. We've run out of Rhys videos for a few days so you're back to me being irritatingly loving at you! I saw this today on The Latest Kate's instagram and it reminded me of a few things I wanted to say. My brain is a bit covid-fogged so apologies if it's a bit wibbly wobbly.

We all struggle with so many little and big things in our lives. Whether it's mental health, self esteem, a physical ailment, love, lonliness, self-identity, family, friends, world conflicts, or anything, I could go on and on.

I know sometimes it feels like you are pushing so hard and you start making so much progress-- and then something, big or little stalls everything and you feel like you're having to start from scratch again.

I just want to send you a gentle reminder that progress isn't always linear. Just because you have lost momentum doesn't mean you've lost your progress. Every single situation is a learning opportunity and every time you run into a new hurdle, you learn from the last one.

You are wonderfully intelligent, kind, precious, complex people and no matter what you're dealing with, no matter how small or how big, you are moving forward and making headway bits at a time. Remember to be kind to yourself and don't beat yourself up for bad days.

We are so proud of you lovelies, remember that.

The number of murdered victims at the music festival was thought to be over 260. It has now been confirmed to be over 360. IDK if this updates the total figure of victims in the massacre, but if it doesn't (meaning, if this is just identifying which victims were killed at which scene), it means almost a third of the civilians slaughtered by Hamas, were killed at that party. Young people who just wanted to dance, enjoy life and celebrate peace.

This picture from Gaza yesterday shows Hamas terrorists (you can see the RPG one of them is carrying) walking down the street escorted by kids, who are being used as human shields.

The Iran-funded Houthis in Yemen have kidnapped a ship for being "Israeli." It's likely rented by an Israeli company, but it's been confirmed that there are no Israelis on board this ship. This incident is a clear escalation from Iran's proxies. The ship was traveling from Turkey to India with an international crew of 22 people, meaning all of their countries are now involved.

UEFA refused to hold a minute of silence for the Israeli victims at the start of a match between the Israeli and Polish youth national teams in soccer, despite the fact that it's customary to do so when terror attacks take place. The youth teams decided on their own not to play during the first minute of the game. Might I add, the Israeli national teams include Arabs.

You might remember that I posted about 12 years old Liel Hezroni being pronounced dead a few days ago. It happened after the evidence showed there was no chance for her to survive what the Hamas terrorists did in the murder scene where the rest of her family's bodies were found (when it's known that she was with them), and despite no body of hers having been identified. Today, remains of a body found by archeologists (employed to help with the ashes of the massacre victims) were confirmed to be hers, and now she can at least be given a proper funeral. May her memory be a blessing.

In case you still think the world is treating Israeli victims fairly, here's a small reminder of how much our lives don't count... When we're putting up posters of our kidnapped women and kids, people feel comfortable ripping them down.

Hamas is claiming the death of a third Israeli hostage in captivity. They claim he died of a heart attack. Yeah, that might happen to an 86 year old kidnapped and tortured. And if that's what happened, then it's still murder.

'ETA is ten minutes.'

Jude had her arms crossed on her chest, her eyes were scanning the screens. There was a lot to take in. She could see the body cams footage, along with which soldier the camera belonged to. They were sitting in two separate cars, guns below their feet. Some were talking to each other. At some point, one of them turned and the Lieutenant appeared on video. He was looking ahead of him, arms crossed on his chest, silent and stoic. She looked away. She could see the weather radars, and the GPS on the remote control cars that were about to be sent ahead.

'India 0-1, this is Alpha 0-1, whether status check, over'. Alpha was the captain, she had gathered. 'Alpha 0-1, this is India 0-1…' she paused for a second 'weather is stable, nothing to report, over.' She knew by now everyone was listening to what she was saying. She kept a serious tone of voice. 'India 0-1, roger that, out.' Simon thought she was pretty good at this. She sounded like she had been doing it forever. How was she good at everything all the time? The car he was sitting in came to a halt, they prepared the two remote control vehicles to send in before them. Securing the two drones on top, one of his teammates spoke into his radio. 'India 0-1, it's Charlie 0-2, RC cars moving in, out.' Alba adjusted the screen to see it better, even thought it was still blank. There was silence for a few seconds, they were waiting for the vehicles to get in position. 'India, check status with Eagle 0-3 before we sent out the drones, out.' She heard Price speak again out of nowhere, which made her jump in her seat. 'Alpha, I'm checking now, out.' She quickly switched channels to communicate with the airplane. 'Eagle 0-3, this is India 0-1 last check before the drones are sent out, over.' The reply was instant. 'Nothing to report, all clear' that was what they said and what she repeated to the captain. 'Roger that, you should have vision in a few minutes.' She waited patiently, until on her smaller monitor appeared the live video from the drones, which got to the middle of the crater. One was gonna stay at a good altitude, giving her visual of the whole base, the other would slightly come down to try and identify Khorram. She wondered for a second if Arash was there with them… He had vanished, he never came back to the base and everyone assumed he was in the Middle East right now…

'India, you got visual?' She snapped back to reality. Focus. 'Positive.' Simon proceeded to start his climb with Soap and Rabbit. He was on the North side. The crater started getting steep once they approached the top, the air was hot and it had gotten more windy. Sand was in his eyes. He already felt sweat prickle down his back, his mask didn't help with ventilation. 'India 0-1, this is Bravo 0-2. We're in position. How copy?' He waited for Johnny to approach him, they would take down two of Khorram's men at the same time, the ones guarding the perimeter. On the East side, the Alpha team would do the same with the third one. 'Bravo 0-2, copy loud and clear' he heard her sweet voice ring in his ear though the headphones. 'Wait for Alpha team, I'll update you.' He felt a knot in his stomach form for a second. 'They're not in position yet?' he asked. 'They're still climbing, it's much steeper on their side'. He rolled his eyes, positioning himself between two rocks and adjusting his sniper in place with the silencer. 'You still have good visual?' he spoke again. He was just making sure everything was going well, no harm in that. Without the captain, he was the one in charge after all. 'I do', she simply replied, clearly not wanting to be questioned. 'Let me know when they're close…' she didn't respond. 'India 0.1, how copy?' Why do you have to be annoying even when I'm working on the other side of the world? 'Loud and clear, Bravo 0-2'.

He heard a chuckle. She heard it too. In sync, him in the middle of the desert, her in an office in America, they both turned their heads to the source of the laughter. Squatting behind the Lieutenant was Rabbit. She looked at Simon's body cam, which was partly turned towards him. He had a grin on his face. I can get you killed from over here, the fuck you laughing for? 'Sorry, India 0-1… you can say other words apart from loud and clear, you know?' She felt her cheeks go red. She cleared her throat before replying 'I'll say splendid if I'm in trouble.' She switched off, letting out a sigh. I don't even know you, shut the fuck up. She almost didn't pay attention enough to ear Simon tell off Rabbit, telling him to be quiet. Fortunately, Alpha team had reached position. The execution of the three snipers was relatively easy for Ghost and the others. The real deal was getting down without getting caught. 'Alpha 0-1 to all stations, start to climb down. Don't make a sound.' Her palms started sweating hearing Price pronounce those words. She focused on the screens that showed the images of the drones. 'India, tell us what you see', instructed the captain. 'There are three tents on the East side, I count four South side, in semicircle. There is a bonfire in the middle, I count… four men around. Armed.' She tried to be as clear as possible. 'One of the tents on the southern side is bigger than the others. There are two pick up trucks that could give cover to the Bravo team.' She added. 'Our man?' asked an unknown voice, 'I don't see him', she replied. She squinter her eyes to see better, the four men were standing around the fire, which was the only source of light, a part form the headlights of the two vehicles. 'India, status?', asked the captain again. 'They're not moving, they're talking…' she replied 'I see one person inside the pick-up on your right, Bravo team, on the drivers side.' 'Copy that', it was Simon who spoke. He nearly tripped on a branch he din't see. He didn't see it because it was fucking pitch black outside. Now that they were closer to the crater's centre, he could see the fire and the trucks, their engines were on. Staying low, ready to fire his gun, he kept moving. 'India, status?' 'They haven't noticed anything. No one else has left the tents… I think they have two bikes…'

'You think?!' Shit.

'No sir, I'm sure', get your shit together Alba, 'they're covered by a blanket, they're definitely motorbikes. Behind the tent with the snake print, west side.'

It all went to shit extremely fast. He would later learn it went to shit because some dickhead from Alpha team slipped on wet grass and made noise and one of the soldiers heard him. Un-fucking-believable. They approached the truck and hid behind it, ready to take down the driver. It would take Simon a bit of knife work to do it silently. What they heard next sent chills down their spines. 'Alpha team, you got one coming towards you, he heard something.' Jude's words were sharp. They had been compromised. Shots were fired before he could give any orders to his men. Jude started seeing the body cams images getting confused and erratic, they were running and covering the camera with their rifles. Simon realised he had to move when he heard screams in a different language. He quickly took down the driver, preparing to attack. The Alpha team didn't have any coverage, they were far and exposed, still at the side of the crater. 'Use the tents as coverage, Khorram's inside they're not gonna shoot!' He heard Jude's voice over the noise. Preoccupied and scared. Told you this wasn't the place for you sweet angel… He was able to shoot one of the four men around the fire, but things were moving at a faster pace then they'd imagined. 'Bravo team, the tent to your right, something's going on inside', Jude alerted them. 'Ghost cover me!' He turned around to see Johnny peek around his corner, he wanted to go check the tent. Simon quickly did what he asked. He could see the Alpha team peeking out from the side of the tents, they wouldn't last long for sure, they were extremely close to the bonfire.

'Jude do you see him?'

'Alpha 0-3 is down!'

'I see him!' Simon got out of his precious hiding spot right the second Jude spoke. He disarmed one of the remaining men, using his knife to finish the job. Glancing to his left he spotted his teammate on the ground, saw Gaz running towards them. 'Go, I'll take him!' He turned away, 'Jude where to?' he asked. He could see his surroundings better now that the bonfire was close. He didn't wait for the girl to answer him, cause Johnny appeared from inside the tent. He heard an engine start. No… 'The bikes, three of them heading south-west.' They wasted no time, but the bikes were already climbing up the mountain.

You see, they did get him in the end. Rabbit took one of the trucks and provided coverage to the others, he basically run over half the camp. Price was the one who shot Khorram in the shoulder. Two other men died, one was captured. Alpha 0-3, his name was Thomas, he made it alive. They got out of the crater and back to the cars. Jude's voice was in their ears. 'All stations, I see a sandstorm approaching your position, you should hurry up' and 'Positive ID on the target' or 'You got troops approaching from north-east'. They weren't the only ones listening to her. When Thomas was shot in the crater his headphones basically flew away when his head hit the ground. Gaz didn't even bother taking them, he just got his friend on his shoulders to carry him away… Two men were in the crater not even ten minutes after they had left. They saw the fire, the blood. They saw the devastation the truck left and the motorbikes scattered on the ground. Most importantly, they saw the headphones. One of them put them close to his ear, to see if he could hear a conversation. And he could. 'Bravo 0-1, this is Alpha 0-2, we're right behind you, out.'

'Alpha 0-2, status on Alpha 0-3, over.'

'Bravo 0-1, stable condition. India 0-1, word from the aircraft?'

'This is India 0-1 to all stations, you're clear to go.'

The man with the headset turned his head to look at the other. That voice. He recognised her. She spoke again, he couldn't believe his ears. She spoke one last time, he felt rage. Then someone, Bravo 0-1, called her by her name. Four damned letters, a death sentence. You shouldn't have said that, brother…

I wanted to enlighten you about the rape case that happend in my country india.

The tragic rape and murder of the female trainee doctor at Kolkata’s R G Kar Medical College and Hospital have drawn nationwide outrage, leading to protests by junior doctors who have halted work to demand justice for the victim.

In the latest, while engaging with the students on Thursday, Suhrita Pal, the new principal of RGKMCH, lost her composure. In response to the horrifying rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor that occurred on Friday in the hospital's seminar hall, the demonstrating students demanded that Pal act right now.

A second-year postgraduate trainee doctor spent her night just like any other night. She had dinner with her juniors and decided to go take some rest at 2 am, early morning.

- Due to a lack of rest space in the hospital, the doctor decided to go rest in the seminar hall, considering it safe to rest.

- Cut to next morning when her body was discovered semi-nude inside a seminar hall on August 9, after she had been on duty the previous night.

The horrifying details of the case are that pelvic bone was broken like crushed she was found in us 90° angle like her legs were wide open in a 90 degree angle that means that her like the pelvic bone was broken apart and an Normal man can only ejaculate 15 g of semen even after 23 rounds of the intercourse but 150 g of semen was found in her body that means she was getting r**ed by 9 to 10 men justice is being denied the goons are being covered up but the case has been handed to the CBI technically the FBI of India so I will keep giving you more updates on this case but we really need international attention on this please kindly spread this so because she used to wear glasses the glasses were broken literally and the glass pieces were literally engraved inside her eyes she had very heavy vaginal bleeding it was horrifying literally horrifying so yeah please please read this Thank you.

I want yall to consider vet/zoologist crutchie. I’ve always had this idea of him working with animals and the idea suddenly grew and expanded even further when i woke up this morning and decided to turn on nat geo wild. Let me explain.

Crutchie adores animals. The cute, the gross, the peculiar, the dangerous, the docile, you name it. He always had this dream lifestyle where he gets to work closely with animals, whether it’d be in an animal clinic or in a zoo or in conservation/perservation or research in general, and then come home every eveningn to his own place full of his pets.

His first job fresh out of vet school was in fact as a vet. He was hoping for a job in preservation/conservation or at a zoo but seeing that this was his first job, he’ll still take it. And being a vet actually allowed crutchie to handle a variety amount of cases. Most cases are just the regular hose pets or out of states farm, mostly bcs he’s still considered a junior there. But working as a vet was enough to see a lot of cases.

However he still wished to work in preservation. He wants to work with endangered species or rescued animals. And so he went out of his way to look for jobs out of the state in conservation centers. (Idk how that stuff works but you get the gist). Now i firmly stand with the whole crutchie, jack, and race are adopted brothers dynamic. Out of the three of them, crutchie is definitely the brother that would most likely move very far away. But this was out of state. Jack and race were a bit sad that he’s moving away but was supportive of his decision. dw the brothers and the rest of the friends always make time to do life updates through texts or calls.

Imagine their surprise when a couple months in Crutchie’s new job he announced that he was planning on moving to other countries? He’s fairly young when he starts off his conservation career to still be quite active but old enough with experience and knowledge a junior wouldn’t have. He gets recommended by his superiors to work in other conservation centers around the globe. Jack and Race was the most shocked and mostly bcs they’re his brothers. Despite the life updates they give, it’s quite hard to catch Crutchie at the right time to hv a proper catch up conversation. His way of staying connected with all his friends and brothers is by sending random life update texts in their big group chat (basically a big newsies gc) much like what the others have always been doing. Crutchie is too busy to call them himself, and most of the time he is content with not speaking with them for long periods of time. However he always does makes the smallest amount of time to facetime them, especially his brothers. And make time to go back to new york to visit them every once in awhile bearing gifts from where he’s living.

Living like this made him really proud of himsef. Of how far he has come. He was first adopted bcs his biological parents didn’t want a disabled child. Imo in modern era crutchie has a limb reduction on his right leg. It barely formed from just above his knee as a newborn and so his bio parents abandoned him. He was taken in by a couple of foster families first and was only given crutches as they cldn’t afford a prosthetic limb. When Ms Medda adopted him, he was able to get one. He went through a lot of challenges with his prosthetic leg, and even thought he might not be able to get the lifestyle he wanted with it. But when the world turned its back on him, Crutchie gave it a middle finger and fought through. With a job he loves, and experiencing a lifestyle in different countries as he continues with his passion for saving animals. It started from Brazil, then South Africa, then India, then China, then Indonesia, and then Australia. He stayed in Australia the longest though because there were a lot of cool conservation projects he was being recruited on.

All throughout his adventures of being moved around, he acquired two loyal pets he brought along with him. A black labrador with a right front prosthetic leg named Hunter, found limping in the streets of Brazil, and a black blind stray cat named Noir, found in a cat adoption center in China after living there for almost a year (breed unidentifiable other than “black fluffy cat” and Crutchie doesn’t care to find out what her breed is).

He earned his reputation worldwide after being apart of countless of conservation projects in various countries. By around his late thirties early fourties, he moved back to the states. On the outskirts of the state of New York, he settles in a small town near his permanent workplace. A conservation scientists in a wildcat sanctuary where they rescue wild cats (from unethical breeding, bad roadside zoos, disabled by poachers in the wild, the black market, random ppl keeping them as pets, you get tne gist) and let them live freely in their sanctuary till the end of their lives as wild as they want without being put on display, unable to be released to the wild for one reason or another. Crutchie also sometimes comes in to work in a local animal clinic every now and then.

Anyways yeah food for thought on vet/zoologist!crutchie?? Yeah<3

Summary: Hangman learned his lesson a long time ago to never show his true feelings when someone's words or actions hurt him. To do so showed weakness that could be exploited, and Seresin men couldn't show weakness. Of course, there was an exception to every rule, and Jake's always came in the form of women, three in particular: his mom, Juliette Kazansky, and the girl whose name he could no longer bring himself to speak. She was the girl that got away; she was his biggest 'what if' and his biggest regret; she would forever be the ghost that haunted his dreams. Jake believed that's where she'd stay, for he would surely never see her again after what he did.

Or so he thought.

Notes: This is the sequel to India Lima Yankee; I'm using the same callsign for the Female OC as in Ghost Story because I just really like it, but they are different characters; chapters in italics are flashbacks. Also, side note, sorry it's been taking so long to post chapters. A lot's been going on and I haven't been able to write as much as I'd like to :(

Raptor and Lightning wrestled over a toy in the middle of the living room while Hangman sat on the floor with them, watching and smiling and happy to have a distraction from his worry over Juliette. Four hours passed before he couldn't take it any longer. He grabbed his phone and hesitated over texting Rooster, Maverick, or Ghost. Bradshaw was in a state of panic and may not respond because of that; Maverick was probably just as panicked and trying to deal with that while being there for Rooster; then there was Ghost, who wanted nothing to do with Jake and may not reply at all for that reason. Hangman figured his best option was to text them as a group and hope one of them responded. He swiftly sent the message and impatiently waited for an answer. It came a few moments later. To his surprise, Ghost had been the one to text back.

Mav and I are still waiting for an update. Rooster is back with Juliette. Let you know ASAP once we have more info ourselves. Ghost replied. A second text followed from Maverick stating: Jules is going to be okay. Of that, we're certain. Just not sure what caused her to pass out. They're running tests last we heard.

Hangman breathed a sigh of relief. At least Princess was okay. Still, he wondered what caused her to faint because she'd seemed fine outside of the headache earlier. Jake thanked Maverick and Ghost for the update and told them to keep him informed if they received any further information. He stood up and stretched, suddenly feeling antsy. Hangman hated to sit still for too long. When he did, it allowed his mind to wander to areas he didn't want it to- dark places, dark memories, and dark thoughts.

"You boys want to go get a pup cup from somewhere? I don't think your parents will mind," Hangman said, believing it'd still be a while before Princess and Bradshaw returned. He left a note for them stating where he'd gone in case he ended up being wrong, then loaded the dogs into the backseat of his truck. Raptor and Lightning happily wagged their tails and hung their heads out the window. The trip took twenty minutes, mainly due to traffic, but Hangman didn't mind, nor did the dogs. They happily devoured the pup cups while Jake ate his own ice cream, then they headed home. He tried playing with the dogs, but they weren't engaged, choosing to sleep on the couch instead. Hangman tried watching TV, but the awful news and the bad shows were wholly uninteresting. He even tried napping, and while he fell asleep for a few hours, it was light and restless. Irked, Hangman got up and shuffled to the hallway, deciding the best way to take his mind off things was to work out. Rooster and Juliette had a small gym with just enough equipment that Hangman could keep himself preoccupied for a while. He slipped off his shirt and went to work, jogging on the treadmill for half an hour and lifting weights for another thirty.

Hangman finished his workout with a hefty two-hundred pull-ups. He could've done more, but his body told him to stop. Lowering himself to the ground, he started to readjust his hat when someone shouted over his music, "Jake!"

"Fuck me!" Hangman exclaimed, whirling around to find Ghost standing in the doorway. Her gaze trailed up his body, but she only quirked an eyebrow. Jake bent over to catch his breath, heart no longer thundering from the exercise but from fright. When he straightened himself back up, he said, "Living up to your callsign, I see."

"Just wanted to let you know Juliette and Rooster are home."

"Why didn't you say that in the first place?" Hangman demanded, grabbing his shirt and tossing it on.

"I thought it'd be a rational assumption on your part that if I was here, they would be."

"Yeah, well, hard to think when you nearly scared me half to death." Before Ghost could remark, Hangman hurried to the living room, where he heard Juliette and Rooster loving on their dogs. He came to a halt and smiled broadly at the sight of Jules sitting on the floor with the dogs. "Princess! Good to see you up and walking."

"Glad to be up and walking," Juliette replied, pushing herself onto the couch.

"So? What's the verdict? What happened?"

"I apparently have a rapid onset of pre-eclampsia, which is basically high blood pressure. Add that in with the heat today, and it was a recipe for disaster. They're keeping an eye on it, but I don't need to be hospitalized for it so far."

He patted her shoulder affectionately. "Knew you'd be all right."

"It's going to take a lot more than high blood pressure to take me down," Juliette declared with a smile, albeit a tired one. "Thank you so much for taking care of the dogs. Did they behave?"

"Of course. They even got pup cups. They're happy their parents are home, though."

"They always love seeing their Uncle Jake too." A giant thunderclap effectively garnered everyone's attention. Juliette frowned. "That wasn't in the forecast."

Ghost peered out the window with a grimace, a flash of lightning illuminating her face. "No, but they never get it right anyways. Didn't think the lightning we saw on our way home would turn into this, though."

Juliette glanced at her phone. "It's one in the morning. I don't want y'all driving in this weather this late at night. We only have one guest room, and it's one bed, but-"

"Ghost can have it. I don't mind driving in this," Hangman said, peering at the torrential downpour and trying to hide his distaste. He never liked storms after. It reminded him too much of the day his mom died. "I've driven in worse back in Texas."

"Well, I mind. For my sanity, please spend the night and leave in the morning. You already look like you're about to pass out."

Hangman quickly stopped his yawn in order to argue, but when Juliette placed her hands on her hips, he knew better than to do so. Relenting, Jake said he'd take the couch so Ghost could take the guest bed. She thanked him, hesitated, then shuffled off to her room. Juliette grabbed some of Rooster's clothes for Hangman to use as pajamas, to which Jake joked, "Surprised they don't have Hawaiian print on them."

It caused Juliette to chuckle, and she said, "Oh, he definitely has some, but you didn't hear that from me! On a different note, you know where everything is, so make yourself at home. Are you sure you'll be okay on the couch?"

"Don't worry about me, Princess. Don't want to raise that blood pressure of yours any higher."

Juliette sighed. "Don't remind me. Rooster's staying calm because you and Ghost are here, but he's worried. I can see it."

"We all are," Hangman admitted. "You gave us all a good scare."

"Sorry," she said sheepishly.

"I'll let the Daggers know in the morning you're okay. For now, I think you better get to bed. Bradshaw's waiting for you. Night, Princess."

"Goodnight, Hangman." He watched her waddle off to her bedroom, then made his way to the bathroom. He changed into the gray sweatpants but opted to sleep shirtless. He'd never liked sleeping with a shirt anyway. He collapsed onto the couch and believed he'd fall asleep within seconds because, truthfully, he was exhausted. Between being in the sun all day, dogfight football, the emotional toll from the phone call with his brother, the heated discussion with Ghost, Juliette's situation and his concern for her, and the fact that his childhood memories had been rising up with a vengeful fury ever since Ghost arrived, it was no wonder. Naturally, though, sleep refused to grace him. He tossed and turned for over an hour. He couldn't blame the couch because the Bradshaws had a ridiculously comfortable and roomy one. It felt like a damn cloud, and he'd fallen asleep on it before with no problem. So why could he not now?

With a sigh, Hangman sat up and checked the time: 1:00 a.m. At least he didn't have an early day in the morning, so he could possibly sleep in a little bit to make up for his current insomnia. Jake got up to go to the kitchen, padding quietly to avoid waking anyone up. As he passed the hallway, he noticed the faint glow of a lamp coming from the guest bedroom. Either Ghost remained awake like him, or she'd fallen asleep with the light on. Both were plausible explanations knowing her.

Hangman made it to the kitchen and rummaged through the tea bags. Juliette loved tea, so he had a variety to choose from, but he knew what he wanted. With the pantry meticulously organized and the tea alphabetized, Jake found the chamomile tea bags easily. He then watched the water boil, falling into a tired trance. Hangman would've stayed like that had he not heard the faintest noise behind him. Turning around revealed Ghost starting to leave, her dog tags clenched in her fist.

"Do you want some tea?" Hangman asked.

Ghost halted in her steps, looking like a deer in headlights at being caught by him. She eyed the tea, briefly debating it, then shook her head, "No, thank you, though. I was just checking to see who was up. That's all. Have a good night."

Ghost departed before Hangman could respond, but he recognized her telltale sign of anxiety. Jake poured the boiling water into his mug, added a large spoonful of sugar, quietly brought it to her room, and knocked on her door. She opened it, staring at him curiously and still clutching her dog tags. Hangman offered her the steaming cup of tea and said, "I know you said no, but you seemed like you could use it."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Ghost asked warily, although she accepted the tea.

"You fiddle with your necklace when you're anxious or deep in thought. Between having to deal with me since your arrival and handling the situation with Juliette, it's understandable."

"Jake-"

"I'll leave you be. I'm going to get my own tea. Night, Annalise."

"Good night. And thank you for this."

Ghost sounded like she wanted to say more but must've thought better, and Hangman didn't prod. For now, he'd simply appreciate that they'd held a civil conversation- no matter how short it was- without any insults or jabs at each other, and it gave him hope that one day, they could rekindle their friendship.
