PIANO PRINCE | CHARLES LECLERC

pairing: charles leclerc x singer!reader
warnings: this is heavily inspired by taylor swift and joe alwyn's relationship!
author's note: this is probably the first and only time I'll ever complete a request the day it was requested lol- I'm proud of myself. I know it is not exactly like how you suggested it, but I still hope you enjoy it! thanks for the support and I hope you have a nice day!

''There is this one name that comes up a few times in the song credits,'' Jimmy puts the cover art of her new album down, ''Jules Perceval.'' He reads out loud, a humorous grin on his face.
Y/N nods her head, already knowing where this was going. ''Yes, Jules Perceval.'' She confirms.
''Your fans are quite confused on who this person is, because it's the first time they've shown up in your album credits and they have a lot of theories so can you confirm who Jules Perceval is?'' Her publicist had already confirmed with Jimmy's team that they had permission to ask about the mystery person that had producing credits on her new body of work.
The singer laughs as the audience reacts enthusiastically. ''Yes, I can,'' she mischievously smiles at Jimmy who claps his hands, ''Jules Perceval is a pseudonym for my boyfriend.'' As soon as the words left her mouth, the crowd started applauding and making 'ooh'- noises.
''Your boyfriend? Is he a composer or?'' The host grows more curious at the revelation that it's her significant other.
She shakes her head. ''No, he's actually a, uh, race car driver.'' Y/N chuckles, Jimmy's surprised face amusing her greatly.
''A race car driver? Wow, that's quite a contrast,'' he laughs, the audience giggling along with him, ''how did you guys end up working together? Because your jobs are vastly different.'' He asks, putting his cards down.
''It wasn't planned, but Charles- my boyfriend- he loves playing the piano and he's been doing that for years, and one day he was just playing around on it and not taking it very seriously, but he played this certain melody that caught my attention,'' she explained, ''I asked him to play it again, recorded it on my phone and I send it to my producer that I usually work with.''
''He sent a more worked out version of the melody back and that's how it came about.'' She finished her explanation.
Jimmy and the audience looked impressed. ''That's amazing! And why did he decide to use a pseudonym and not his real name?''
''We wanted people to listen to the song without having any higher expectations simply because he was in the credits.'' Y/N answers, diplomatically.
''Jules Perceval sounds very fancy,'' Jimmy smiled, gathering some laughs from the crowd, ''did you come up with that or did your boyfriend?''
''That was all him,'' she grinned, ''his godfather is named Jules and one of his middle names is Perceval so that's how the name came about.'' Y/N remembers clearly how proud Charles looked as he told her and her team which name he wanted to be credited under.
''I love that! Well, if the racing doesn't work out, he has another profession he can get right into.'' Jimmy teased, leaning his arms on the desk.
Y/N giggled, hiding her face in her hands. ''I'll tell him that.''
Tumblr media
''So… I can quit racing, huh?'' Charles' tired voice sounded over the phone, the mischief still present.
Y/N snorted at his greeting. ''You watched the interview then, I thought you might be too busy to watch it.''
''Of course I saw it, it was your first time on the show- I couldn't miss it.'' His words melted her heart, touched by the fact that he still took the time to watch her interview despite being busy in Italy with simulator work.
''I really appreciate it, honey- I hope you're doing well, you sound very tired.'' His voice was a bit deeper than usual, indicating just how exhausted he was.
She could hear him chuckle on the other side. ''I'm fine, chérie,'' he assured her, ''it was just a long day, that's all.''
Y/N was about to reply, but her manager waved her hands in front of her face. ''I'm sorry, we have to go now.'' She whispered, pointing at the door of the dressing room.
''You have to go, huh?'' Charles sighed.
''Yeah,'' the singer pouted, disappointed the couple didn't get to call for at least a few more minutes, ''I'll call you later, though.''
''It's okay, mon amour,'' despite not seeing him, she was sure he was smiling, ''I'm always proud of you, okay? I'm thinking of you.'' The driver let her know the words in his heart.
''I'm thinking of you too- I love you.'' Y/N bid him goodbye.
''Je t'aime.''

it's time to go
actor eren x f!reader
**part of my method acting series
an: im sweating.
songs/media mentioned: happiness by taylor swift and it's time to go by taylor swift (not mentioned but name of the chapter!!)
previous part linked here
--
You take a deep breath in as you stand at the shining bright doors of the building, the reflective mirrors at the front showing you your small frame in comparison. You brush down the ends of your dress, ridding your palms of the sweat accumulating as you push through the doors.
There’s a receptionist sitting at the front, with short black hair who is diligently typing away on the computer. You can see the issue of Vogue, the one the Attack on Titan cast did for season two, placed in a placard at the top of the desk. And when you look around, you see that every Vogue cover you’ve done - the one of you and Sukuna, for your albums - is displayed everywhere.
Then again. This is a big deal. Surely it’ll be their biggest feature of the year.
“Alright. Your interview should be up the stairs, in room eleven. They’ll start set-up at twenty and then the interview will start at half-past.” she states, handing you a shiny key-card.
“Would you happen to know if my request regarding the piano was approved?”
“I believe so. It should be in the room.” she responds, smiling.
“Thank you!” you respond.
You walk up the stairs and find the room, a few workers shuffling around the set. They all give you polite smiles as you walk straight onto the stage, an expensive brown couch on the left and the grand piano you requested on the right.
You take your backpack off and pull out the box, filled with polaroids all tagged to perfection for your interview, as they all start adjusting the microphones and cameras into place. A shorter, older woman walks up to you, shaking the microphone pack in her hand as she gestures for you to stand up.
“Hi! Thank you so much for helping me out today. I’m Y/N.” you respond, clipping the pack to the back of your dress.
“No problem. I’m Leila.”
You pause.
“I know you. We-we’ve met before, right?”
Her face widens in shock as she nods, a bright smile spreading across her face.
“Yes, that’s right.” she murmurs, voice quiet.
“It was…god. That was years ago, back when we were doing press for season two. We filmed a video for your daughter, she was asleep and she was a really big fan, right? How is she doing?”
“She’s doing good. She’s still a big fan of your music.” she says, smiling as she loops the wires through your ears, shuffling your hair behind your ear as she readjusts.
“That’s sweet. I’m so glad she enjoys it, that-that’s very special to me that she does.” you respond, cheeks warm and something stirring in your chest.
You take her in full, trying hard to wrack your brain for how she used to look. She’s definitely years older now - five to be exact - but you can’t pinpoint any. No wrinkles, no tiredness - still the same woman you knew.
But you’re miles away from who you used to be, having aged what feels like eons. You think back to the interview, the compliments you and Eren gave to each other stinging in your mind.
Eren. I wouldn’t be standing here if it wasn’t for you. Not only because you took a chance on me after our first screen test, but every other hiccup along the way was only something I could swallow because of you. You-your steadfast determination and belief in me is something so inspiring, so warm unlike anything else. You’ve always been a safe place for me, somewhere I can always run to when I need someone. I’m so glad we can always be fish together.
Y/N. You’ve always been able to sense my feelings - my happiness, my frustrations, my pain - without me having to tell you. And you always, always know how to say the right thing to bring me back down to Earth from it all. You make me a better person and I love you for it.
You’re sure you're crying as you look back at Leila, her eyes wide as she reaches forward to wipe the tears. The deep feeling, the sadness sitting so deep in your chest that you’ve been trying to ignore, is suddenly too overwhelming, too loud for you to swallow.
“I’m so sorry. Was it something I said?” she asks, her look frantic.
You take her hand in yours, squeezing three times.
“No. It’s me. I just remembered that interview. What Eren and I had said to each other and it made me a little sad, that’s all.” you respond, wiping your tears against the back of your hand.
Her face deflates.
“I’m very sorry for what happened. To the both of you.”
You sigh.
“Thank you. I-I appreciate that.”
“This industry is not kind. To anyone. And having seen how you two were as kids, how genuine,  it’s sad to see what they’ve said to you both. You know that most of it, if any, isn’t your fault. People- they’re cruel. You’re a very brave girl for still coming here.”
You swallow hard. And hope she still thinks you’re brave at the end of your interview.
You sit down on the couch, anxiously tucking the ends of your hair towards the back of your ears, as the interviewer walks in, a bright smile on her face. Leila leaves, giving you a thumbs up as she walks away.
“Y/N. Congratulations. I’m Layla. Thank you for finally coming down for your interview.” she states, taking her seat on the couch next to you as they adjust the microphone in front of her. She has a blue box in her hands, which she tucks behind the couch.
You don’t miss the snub she makes at you for postponing for months on end. You became a triple threat months ago. And your interview - about your career, about your work - was supposed to happen ages ago.
“Thank you for waiting until I was ready. I can promise you-you won’t be disappointed with what I have for you. What’s that?”
“It’s for you. We’re saving it for the end of the interview.” she states, giving you a smile.
You nod, as you brace your knuckles against your own box, the director coming over to give you both directions and stage you properly against the cameras.
“Hello everyone! My name is Layla Ray and I’m here with Y/N L/N. After a great deal of anticipation, Y/N is finally here, seated with Vogue, for the infamous triple threat interview. We’re going to go through the highs and lows of her career and ultimately discuss what comes with such a great title. Y/N, how are you feeling?” she asks, giving you a bright smile.
You swallow hard.
“Thank you, Layla. I’m doing okay. How are you?”
“I’m great, thank you for asking. This interview has been a long time coming. Six months to be exact. Any particular reason why?” she states, adjusting her tone to be quieter, matching your tone. You can tell she’s a skilled interviewer - the excitement from before dying down as she brings the energy lower.
“I-I wanted to be sure of what I wanted to say here. I want to be honest when we talk about my career and that requires self-reflection. I needed the time to do that. And I-I brought things here to share so I had to put those together too.” you state.
“We’ll go back to the start then. What drew you to the industry - acting, singing, dancing?” she asks.
You pull out your first picture, the one you ripped off of your wall. The paint is still stuck to the tape on the back, the picture of you, Falco, and Colt at your popstar themed birthday party. Colt and Falco have excited smiles on their faces, a sparkly pink crown on top of your head and your hands are clenched around the microphone, at the bottom. You can hear Eren’s words ringing in your mind.
Everyone else holds the microphone at the top, their fingers nearly wrapped around the wire. You’re like the only person I know who holds it at the bottom - like you’re doing in the picture.
“This is me at my fourth birthday party. It was a popstar themed birthday party my parents threw for me. I performed a little show for them and my brothers, did karaoke, the whole thing. I-I saw Hange’s speech a few years later when they became a triple threat and it-it basically cemented this as my dream.” you respond, holding up the picture before handing it to Layla.
She’s smiling, running her fingers over the picture.
“This must be a surreal moment. A dream come true.”
You wish.
“Let’s talk about Attack on Titan. How did you find out about it, what was it like being cast, and on a set for the first time?”
“I found out about it through a flier at my coffee shop. I kind of showed up on a whim and did a chemistry read with my co-star. I got the role later that week and was flown out to be with them all. I-I was overwhelmed when I got there at first. I didn’t know much about the set, the terms that you’re supposed to use, they-they had to teach it all to me, like I was a five year old. A fish out of water moment.”
You nervously walk to the other side of the set, where Eren’s sitting in the makeup chair. The team is brushing through the ends of his brown locks, his eyes fixed on his script in front of him, as he murmurs his lines under his breath. You reach forward and snatch the paper out of his hands and tuck it under your arm.
“Good morning to you too, Y/N.” he responds, eyes wide as he smiles at you.
“Sorry. Good morning, Eren.”
He smiles.
“I was joking. Did you need something?”
“I have an embarrassing question. Can you come here?” you murmur, cheeks burning pink.
He quickly hops off the chair, giving a sympathetic nod to the makeup team, as he wraps his arm around your shoulder, his face close to yours as you talk in hushed tones.
“What’s wrong?”
“What’s a hot brick?” you ask.
“Huh?”
“Hange. They-they asked me to bring them a hot brick. And when I said what, they were like…You do know what a hot brick is, right? And I got so embarrassed I kind of ran away and now I don’t know what to do.”
Eren pauses as he registers, which is immediately followed by him smiling and leading you towards the back of the room. He picks up one of the charged batteries of the walkie talkies and places it flat in your palm.
“A hot brick is a fully charged battery.”
“Oh. Right. Th-thanks, Eren.”
He puts his hand on your shoulder.
“It’s only like your sixth day on a set. I didn’t even know this stuff until the end of my first movie. You-you aren’t behind, I promise.”
“Okay. Thanks, I guess.”
“I’ll help you. Before the rest of the cast gets here. Teach you all the terms and the secrets and stuff. You’ll be a natural.”
“Really?”
Eren gives you a nod, the smile on his face drawing your eyes to his dimples.
“Thank you, Eren. Really.”
“It’s no biggie. I’ll help you with anything you want. Just ask, okay?”
“One of our most overwhelming questions that we received was what was it like filming with your cast? Your show - along with Jujutsu Kaisen - were really the first of their types to have such a big child actor presence on them.”
You smile, pulling out your next three pictures. The first - it's a picture of you and Bertholdt, holding a World’s Greatest Dad mug in front of Levi, who has the most annoyed expression on his face. The second is of you and Historia - tying Reiner’s hair into two tiny ponytails. And the third - you and Marco, hugging each other so hard that your cheeks are pressed together.
“It was the time of my life, really. I-I went to sleep every night with a smile on my face. They were genuinely such good friends of mine and this experience, these memories - they’ll always be special to me.”
“Do you have a favorite memory?” she asks.
“Hm. I-we were all kind of immature at that age. I still am. Anything related to dirty jokes, especially when Erwin or Hange were involved is a surefire favorite. Sometimes I’ll remember them and still burst out laughing.”
The teacher stands at the front of the makeshift classroom, the lazy energy enveloping the room. The warm haze of the summer has the ends of your hair sticking to your neck, the cold desk soothing your burning skin - preventing you from listening to whatever the physics teacher is saying about the solar system.
You look to your right to find the same sentiment shared by everyone else too. Eren’s eyes are closed, his chin resting against his desk as the sweat rolls down the side of his face. Connie and Sasha are sharing a cold drink between them and Jean’s nearly turning pink as he fans Mikasa - the only one who looks relatively comfortable right now.
You kick Eren’s leg.
“Hm? What’dya want, sweetheart?” he murmurs.
“Jean is fanning Mika. You could do the same.” you groan.
You feel a light breeze on your neck as you turn your head to see Eren, leaning against his arm as he fans you with the book. You take it from his hand, giving a head shake as you turn to your side, the two of you facing each other on the aisles. You instinctively place your feet on top of his, the two of you looking at each other.
“I was kidding.”
“I know. I don’t mind though. You’re looking a little hot.”
You smile.
“Just a little?”
“Shut up. You know exactly what I think about how you look.” he says, rolling his eyes.
You bite back your smile.
“And that’s why the answer is Uranus.” the teacher says, metal pointer smacking against the board.
You look up at Eren, the two of you so incredulous - from the heat, from being stuck in here for three hours, from how stupid of a word it is - that you both burst out laughing. And then get in trouble together.
“What the hell was so funny that your teacher had to take you out of class?” Levi asks, arms crossed against his chest as he stares the two of you down, hours later. Hange and Erwin are trying to mimic his intimidated stance, but all you and Eren can do is laugh.
“Um. You don’t want to know, Levi.” you respond.
“It’s stupid. We’re sorry.” Eren states.
“No. No, I want to know what was so funny that you laughed so hard you pissed one of your nicest teachers off.”
You and Eren give each other a look.
“It-it’s inappropriate. We’re really sorry, okay? We’ll go and apologize right away.”
You and Eren stand up, linking arms together as you move to walk away. Except Levi’s moved in front of you two, an entirely different look on his face.
“Do I need to have a talk with you two?”
“What?” you ask.
“A talk. About sex.”
You and Eren turn your heads to each other, eyes wide. And you immediately start back tracking.
“Levi. Ew- oh my god. What’s wrong with you? You’re so disgusting. And-and-and a pervert.”
“Y/N. Do we have to have a talk? Are you being safe? Why are you guys making dirty jokes in class that you can’t tell me?” he repeats, eyes burning into yours.
“No! Oh my god Levi! It’s not like that.”
Levi looks back at Hange as you look over at Eren, who's pouting at you.
“What, Eren?”
“You don’t have to act like you’re soooo repulsed by it. That’s not what you sounded like-”
You smack your hand over his mouth, cheeks burning.
“Eren. Shut up. This is not the time or the place to be bringing THAT up.”
He smirks, clearly delighted by how embarrassed you are, before pressing a kiss to your palm where you’re covering his mouth. He turns back to Levi, Hange, and Erwin.
“Levi. We’re sorry. The teacher said Uranus and we thought it was funny.”
“Uranus? What the fuck is so funny about Uranus?” Levi asks.
You bite down on your cheeks to stop yourself from laughing in Levi’s face - his very angry face. Luckily enough for you, you're not the first one to break. And neither is Eren.
It’s Hange. They’re smacking the back of Levi’s back as they ask him to say it again, the four of you - Erwin having joined you - as you all goad Levi on to say it again. And you laugh so hard that by the end of it, you’re on the floor - screaming for them to stop as Eren rubs circles into your back.
Your chest twinges, as she hands the pictures back, and you tuck them back into the box.
“The success after season one of Attack on Titan was pretty tremendous. You guys essentially became house names overnight. How did that feel, especially given your background? Nepotism runs deep and heavy in what we do and you seem to be one of our only outliers, here.”
“It was horrible.”
A shocked look spreads across her face.
“I’m grateful for it all. Don’t get me wrong. But my life changed overnight. I-I went to school and I wasn’t treated as the same person anymore, by people I grew up with. There were people hanging around my school, waiting to take pictures of me, and-and anyone who had a chance of understanding me, they were all miles away. Filming.”
“Did you feel that often? Comparing yourself to your co-stars?”
“Originally, no. I-I was just happy to be there. But people, I mean. They talk. It-it kind of cemented that idea in my mind. I didn’t think it was weird that I was the only one who wasn’t filming until someone pointed it out. And-and someone always pointed these things out.” you respond.
Colt snatches the phone from your hands, an irritated look on his face as he slides it into his pocket. After a six hour phone call with your new publicist and producers - Danny and Sareen - all you could do was aimlessly scroll through social media, their words swimming through your mind as you considered your options.
“Quit reading that shit.” he says, making an effort to storm out of your room. He hangs by the door when he reaches it, his hands pressed against the frame.
You shuffle under the blanket, pulling the soft fabric over your head. And a few seconds later, Colt’s pulling it off, expression a bit softer than before.
“I-I just don’t get why you read it. What’s the point?”
“I dunno.”
He slides onto your bed, putting his cold legs next to yours under the blanket as you complain.
“In my meeting with Danny and Sareen. They-they’re the new producer and the manager that reached out to me. They were saying all this stuff about how I can’t drop the ball anymore. How if I have people paying attention to me now, I-I have to keep it going.”
Colt frowns.
“I-I don’t know how this stuff works. What does that have to do with you reading a bunch of people saying rude stuff about you online?”
“I told them I had time to decide, figure out what I want to do next. They said I should look online and reconsider. That if I want to be a triple threat, I-I should trust them.”
“Do you?”
“Yeah. They-they’re right. And they seem like the type to push me in the right direction, like Levi and Hange. I know they’ll do whatever to help me be the best. They want what I want.”
Colt shrugs. And you know he doesn’t understand.
“Let’s talk about season two. You made history this season - by being nominated for Best Actress in a Lead role among many others, becoming the most nominated actress in Institute history in one night. How did that feel? To-to do that so young?”
“That-that was a win. It came after something really, really intense for me actually. I-I had all these feelings about what it was like to be famous. Building for months. And-and I got them put into words for me right before that happened. It was kind of like going from a really low low to the highest of highs. I-Intense is the word I’d use for it.”
“Could you elaborate? On that?”
You swallow hard.
“Being famous is like living in a fishbowl. There’s-there’s glass in between you, the viewers, and me the person. And it may seem like you can see me, that you and I are the same but the glass is always between us. You enjoy on the other side, smack against the glass, sometimes even put your rods out to wring us out. We-we’re stuck there, that’s all. I realized that and found out I got nominated minutes after. But that’s this job for you. You’re at the bottom one minute and the top the next.”
Her eyes flutter down to your tattoo but she doesn’t make a point to mention it.
“Let’s discuss music now. Following winning Best Actress in a Drama Series, your impressive albums and tours started. You released your debut album, followed by lover girl, and then ribbons. This-this was an insane feat on your part - most artists take four to five years to produce albums at this pace. What motivated you during this time?”
“My manager and my producer are pushing me at every step.”
She smiles.
“That’s some support system.”
“That’s not the word I would use for it.” you respond, voice cutting.
She nods.
“That’s right. Following your last performance, rumors were flying around that you had fired Danny and Sareen, your beloved manager and producer. Is this true?”
“Yes.”
“Why, if I may ask?”
“I just told you. They were pushing me at every step.”
You sigh, looking down at your hands, knotting your fingers together. One of the first things, you could come under fire for, is talking about them, so bluntly the way you are.
“I looked up to them. My previous example from my mentors - Hange and Levi - was perfect. Almost too perfect. Because of them, because of how willing they were to support me, to defend me, I thought everyone was like that. I thought every person who was willing to be on my team was taking into account that I didn’t know much about the industry and pushing me in the right direction.”
“And that wasn’t true for them?”
You take a deep breath.
“I think they used that to their advantage. That I had a blind faith in them. That I wanted to please them, to please other people. I didn’t know that it wasn’t normal to put out three records, to do world tours that fast. I didn’t know that it was insane that I forgot to eat some days, I didn’t know that it was crazy that they were waking me up after two hours of sleep to put me to work. I-I thought that it was all part of the hustle.”
“How do you feel about it now? Having fired them?”
“I-I don’t regret what they’ve done for me. I-I am thankful to them. If anything, I’m more embarrassed of what they did make me do. Why I didn’t think twice on things they asked me to do, songs they convinced me to write.”
She looks intrigued. She knows she’s getting into the good stuff.
“Songs like?”
“London Boy.” you respond.
“That brings us to Ricky James. Are you saying that you didn’t write London Boy?”
“No. No, I wrote it. But I was asked to write it the way I did. Write a love song about him.”
“Because?”
“Press. It’ll get people to talk. People get bored of the same thing over and over again after years.” you respond, repeating Danny and Sareen’s words, about Eren.
You sigh.
“It’s embarrassing to admit that I did that. Pretend just to get people to listen to my music. I-I am ashamed of it.”
“It’s okay. We-we understand.”
“I don’t think you do.” you whisper.
You can feel the tears pricking your eyes.
“I-I regret it. It’s a horrible thing to do. Especially when, when you have real love and you give it up to pretend. And it’s humiliating to pretend, to see people coo over you and a guy you barely even know. But when you’re famous, when people are telling you this is what you have to do, when this is what everyone does, it doesn’t seem like much to give up. I-I could feel the shame crawling in my skin when I look back at it now.”
You swallow down the regret, thick in your throat.
“How so?”
“The night my album premiered, Ribbons. In the past, all my best friends, they-they’d come to listen with me. Throw me a party, press kisses to my cheeks. I turned them all down that year. It’s one thing to pretend to everyone you know. It’s another thing to do it to people who know better. Who know what you’re doing. I didn’t want to pretend in front of their faces. ”
“Speaking of that night. Could you speak on this?”
She sides the picture, the one the paparazzi took of you on the curb before Lana got to you, towards you. You pick it up and look at it - at your eyes pinched shut and your drenched hair.
“It’s simple. Ricky James started liking me. Asked me out. I said no. And then he locked me out in the rain.”
You see the discomfort spread across her face as she slides the picture back.
“I’m very sorry that happened to you. But you came out of it at the top, with your hit featuring Lana Price. Was she part of your support system during that time?”
You smile.
“Yeah.”
“Can’t sleep?”
You look up from the shelves you were currently pawing through to find Lana, rubbing her knuckles into her eyes, as she walks over to where you’re standing.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you. I just wanted water but I couldn't find the glasses.”
She smiles as she wraps her hand around your wrist and leads you to the other side of the kitchen, taking a glass out of the correct cabinet and filling it up for you. You both lean against the counter, illuminated by the fridge of the kitchen light in the dark kitchen.
And suddenly you’re crying again, wet, warm tears falling down the length of your face. At the thought of where you were four nights ago - running in the rain until she picked you up. You aggressively wipe the tears off of your cheeks as she catches on. And Lana, despite this being the second time having met you, is quick to pull you into her arms, the sweet strawberry smell of hers filling your nose.
“You smell like candy.”
“Don’t go biting me now.”
You laugh, pressing against her arms harder as your tears fall onto her shoulder, trying to muffle your sobs by clamping your mouth shut.
“Eren told me. About Colt.”
She pulls back, wiping the tears off your cheek as she talks, softly.
“You’ll get better at doing this. Protecting them. I can almost guarantee it.” she says, giving you a smile.
“How do you know?”
“Because I did it. Which means you can too.” she responds, placing her glass of water in your hands.
“It’s not that simple.”
“Yes, it is. I’ll help you. Eren will help you.” she responds.
“You’re already doing enough for me. Both of you. I’m intruding on your house right now.”
You feel two hands, warm, around your neck, accompanied with a light squeeze. And then Eren, his voice still raspy from sleep, whispering in your ear.
“Y/N.”
“Yeah?” you whisper.
“Say that again and I’ll kill you. What’s mine is yours.” he responds, sliding his hands off of you as he pushes the fridge door closed and opens the light.
Lana groans.
“God. Would it kill you to put a shirt on, ugly?”
“Would it kill you to brush your hair, you hag? Or maybe not wake me up in the middle of the night?”
“That wasn’t even me. Y/N woke up first!”
“It was your croaking that woke me up, Lana. You sound like a toad.” he mutters.
You laugh, which breaks the two of them out of their argument, and has soft smiles spreading across both of their faces.
“You guys are like siblings.”
Lana comes over, hands cupping your face.
“My sweet, sweet Y/N. Please don’t insult me.”
And then Eren’s behind you, arms slithering around your waist, his voice warm in your ear again.
“That’s the meanest thing you’ve ever said to me, princess.”
“Quit flirting, Eren. You’re such a manwhore.” Lana says.
“Princess was her nickname on set, dumbass. Because she’s a pop princess. I’m not flirting.” Eren responds,
“Wow. So you’re too good to flirt with Y/N. You think you’re better than her?”
“What?” Eren asks, leaning off of you.
Catching on to what Lana’s trying to do, you turn around and look at Eren, trying to hide your coy expression.
“Do you really think that, Eren?”
His eyes go wide, hands on your shoulders.
“No! No, oh my god! I don’t think I’m better than you. If anything, you-you’re better than me. I’ll flirt with you all you want. I swear!”
You and Lana stare him down for a few seconds before you burst out laughing, a pink spreading across Eren’s cheek as he grumbles, an irritated look on his face as he shoves past Lana.
“You guys are annoying. I’m going back to bed.”
“Aw, Eren! Come back! Flirt with her!” Lana says, teasing him on.
“Don’t stay down here too, Y/N. You’re going to lose brain cells.” he murmurs, shuffling away.
You turn back to Lana, who's filling your glass with water again. She has a soft smile on her face, eyes warm as she hands you the water.
“This type of stuff…it really helps.” she says.
“This type of stuff?”
“Good people. Who want to take care of you. Make you laugh after you cry, all that cheesy stuff.”
You hum, leaning against the counter again.
“Lean on Eren. Don’t get so jumbled up on what it means and how he’s feeling because he just wants to be there for you.” she says.
“I’m trying to. I guess I just feel bad.”
“I would have benefited a lot from someone like Eren, if I knew him when I was younger. When I was-”
You quirk your head to the side, beckoning for her to elaborate.
“For the longest time, I thought that this is just how guys were. Assholes. Dicks. That it was a matter of finding one who was relatively nice, good enough. That real guys, they’re never like this.”
You frown.
“My dad was an asshole. Ricky was horrible. My brother was the only person who was nice to me but we just- we lived so far and with the jobs and stuff we grew apart. And when I had to deal with things on my own, things I was too young to even understand, I-”
She pauses. Swallowing hard.
“I would have benefitted from knowing Eren earlier. Guys like Eren, like your friends Jean and Marco. Eren’s helped with a lot of my shame and made me better. I-I owe a lot to him really. I know we said what we said earlier, but he is like my brother. He’s always protected me. Overwhelmed me with kindness under insults.”
You smile.
“He’s a good guy. Always has been.” you whisper, heart warm at Eren being Eren, still.
“So let him. Overwhelm you with kindness. Be there for you. You have no reason to be ashamed. And every reason to be scared. Quit feeling bad and just let him. He’s the person you’re comfortable with here.”
You smile, leaning your head against your shoulder.
“Dunno. You’re pretty cool too.”
She laughs.
“Yeah?”
“You know what would be cool. If you guys went to bed.” Eren says, shuffling into the room again.
Lana groans.
“All men have is the audacity. You just ruined a really sweet moment.”
You smile at Eren, which he returns.
“Can Lana sleep with us?”
He stops smiling.
“Huh?”
“You sleep on the left and she can sleep on my right!” you respond.
“Y/N.” he whines.
“Please? It’ll be like a sleepover. I can’t have bad things on my mind before I go to bed if you’re both there.”
“No thanks, sweet girl.” Lana says.
“I’m trying to lean on you guys! Give in.” you respond.
They both groan as they agree, the three of you shuffling towards Eren’s room. You settle straight into the middle of Eren’s bed, as they both shuffle around - loudly talking in Eren’s bathroom.
“Ew, Eren. Why did you just kiss my cheek? I’m not Y/N, idiot.”
“That was for you, Lana Bear!”
“What pervert spirit possessed you at this time of night? And you know how I feel about that nickname after what Hyla said to me at dinner, so shut up.”
“I didn’t mean it like that, Lana. And I just wanted you to know I love you too. You’re like a sister to me.”
You hear Lana smack Eren.
“Were you eavesdropping? Asshole. I was lying. None of it was true.”
“Okay, Lana. Sure thing.”
“I’m serious!”
You shake the memory from your head, as you pull out the picture for her to see, one of you and Lana that Eren took. You’re both on his couch, your hands tangled in the bowl of popcorn - glaring at the camera. Eren was blocking your rewatch of High School Musical.
“Speaking of support systems, one of your most talked about relationships is that with your co-star, Historia Reiss. After seemingly dropping songs about each other and making up and breaking up, there’s a lot of speculation on what happened. Anything to share?”
You smile.
“Historia and I are friends. And friendship is complicated. You just got to witness ours first hand, that’s all. Everything between us - it’s water under the bridge, if there ever even was one. We’re just really similar and we butt heads. We still love each other at the end of the day.” you say.
“Well that’s lovely to hear. How about Ryomen Sukuna? The two of you are all anyone talks about these days, especially after how cozy you two were on the red carpet.”
You snort. And pull out the polaroid - of you and Sukuna, of him kissing your cheek at the awards show. And in the background, Nobara and Maki are pretending to gag.
“We’re not dating. And we won’t ever. We’re just really good friends.”
“Friends kiss each other on red carpets?”
“These ones do!” you respond, smiling.
She laughs, nodding as you tuck the picture back into the box. She swallows hard, rubbing her hands against her palms as she asks her next question. The one you know she’s been itching to ask.
“Look. We’ve talked about your career at great length - all but caught up to the night that you became a triple threat. But there’s one person that we haven’t discussed yet, maybe brought up in passing but haven’t broached. Who I think is relevant.”
You smile.
“Eren.”
“Eren.” she repeats, nodding.
“What do you want to know?”
“I mean, everything. How did it feel to know that you finally got him back for what he did to you, the way he dragged your career through the mud. I mean you basically had him hanging his head between his knees by the end of the night, after you ended him. Throwing his relationship with his brother in his face, the songs you wrote, I mean- that. That has to be liberating. To do all that and come out as a triple threat at the end.”
You can feel the tears spilling down your cheeks as you take your last picture out, one of you and Eren at Levi and Hange’s vow renewal. You’re leaning your head on your palm, looking up at him as he smiles down at you. And you swallow the hiccups as you respond.
“In what world did that night seem liberating to you? Making a joke out of the love I shared with someone? I sobbed my way through the entire last song. Didn’t even make a speech. In what world was that liberating?”
You see the shock spread across her face.
“I just thought-”
You smile.
“Since we were fifteen, all people have done is speculate about me and Eren. Are we dating? Are we in love? Are we real? Are we faking? And therein lies the issue, because I think the people, the fame - it came between something really real.”
She stops, nodding.
“Something real? Are you telling us that Eren Jaeger lied in his interview?”
“I don’t know his truth. Maybe it was fake for him. But I was there too.....And it was real for me.”
You look down at the picture, fiddling with it in your hands.
“I-I’d like to sing my song, if I could. I-I think it’ll help explain how I feel.” you say.
She nods, gesturing to the piano. You sit at the seat, sneaking out the vinyl sleeve from the inside of the bench and pull it out. The album cover is a picture of the cast from season one of Attack on Titan. You and Eren are front and center, smiling at each other instead of the camera, everyone’s heads going in different directions. Jean and Mikasa are looking at something to the left and pointing, Ymir is smiling at Historia who is disgusted at Connie and Sasha plugging their fingers in each other's nose.
“This is my fourth and final studio album, called The Lucky One. And this is my first song on the record, called happiness.”
You brace your hands against the keys, playing the tune into the air as you sing. The feeling sits deep in your chest. Your realization was simple. That Historia’s statement - that your Eren wasn’t the Eren that existed anymore - is true. You just chose to focus on the wrong part of it.
You loved Eren and he made you happy. He burned you down, hurt you in the way that only he knew how, but loved you, made you whole in only the way he could too. There's a deep hurt.
But there was great happiness. It’s why you forgive him. Why you choose to move forward, and hold whatever love you did have close.
Past the blood and bruise Past the curses and cries Beyond the terror in the nightfall Haunted by the look in my eyes That would've loved you for a lifetime Leave it all behind And there is happiness
There is happiness In our history Across our great divide There is a glorious sunrise Dappled with the flickers of light From the dress I wore at midnight Leave it all behind Oh, leave it all behind Leave it all behind And there is happiness
You wipe the tears off of your face as you turn back towards the camera.
“Eren Jaeger is the love of my life. He’s everything you want in the person you want to spend the rest of your life with and more. He’s kind, he’s sensitive, he’s all too willing to understand you. Too willing to meet you where you are, as you are, and look past all the bad parts of you.”
You stifle your sob, the tears pouring out of your eyes. You glance back at the picture of you and Eren at the piano. And the memory sticks out in your head.
“I love you.”
You look over at Eren, his green eyes gentle and heartfelt as he takes your hand and squeezes three times.
“Eren, you-”
“I love you. The three squeezes - that’s what they’ve always meant.” he whispers, his hand warm in yours as me mimics the motion you’ve done a hundred times.
You swallow hard.
“Eren Jaeger is the love in the room. He gives people a chance, even when he shouldn’t. He’s supportive, so incessantly adamant about his belief in you, that you believe in yourself too. He loves hard, he loves soft, and everything in between.”
“He’s the best person I’ve ever met. Until he wasn’t anymore. And I-I don’t know what they did to him. If they pumped him full of drugs, if they told him something about this industry that I’m unaware of, if-if it was something about me. But this Eren Jaeger, so full of love that it was almost spilling out of him, doesn’t exist anymore. He was real. But he’s not like this anymore.”
You swallow hard.
“This career, the way we live in our fishbowl. It-it’s so cruel. You all enjoyed watching me ruin him. You all enjoyed watching him ruin me. You liked that we spent our entire lives loving each other and maybe loved it even more when it came crashing down. It was interesting to speculate on, to talk about. You saw the softest love in us. In him. And then gutted it out of him like he was a fish.”
You take a deep breath.
“And with that, I quit.”
The interviewer sits up, hand on your shoulder at the piano bench as the shock spreads across her face.
“You’re quitting music?”
“I’m quitting all of it. I don’t want anything to do with this. You already got to have him. You don’t get to have me too.”
You give her a smile as you turn to the camera, before walking straight off of the set and into the waiting room outside.
--
You sit on the bench outside, swinging your legs as you watch the people around you move. They’re all rushing to air the tape, which you expected. And making flash copies of the vinyl you gifted them, getting ready to post them online as the interview goes out.
Figures.
The only person who comes to your side is Leila.
“HI.” you say, cheeks burning from the tears and your eyes swollen.
She hands you the blue box, the one they hid behind the couch at the start, and shakes her head.
You give her a strange look as you open up the box, filled with a large stack of letters. You reach for the one at the top, opening the pages to find Eren’s messy handwriting scribbled on the pages.
Dear The Institute (I don’t know if you’re a person or like someone specific I’m just writing a letter to the address Levi gave me),  My name is Eren Jaeger. I’m fifteen, the son of Carla and Grisha Jaeger. I’m going to be in a new show called Attack on TItan. But that’s not why I’m writing to you. I want to tell you about my friend, my best friend.  Her name is Y/N L/N. She’s going to be my co-star in the show. You haven’t heard of her yet but I promise you won’t forget her. And I’ll make sure you won’t. Because I’m telling you now, she’s the next big thing. And you’re going to make her a triple threat.  I’ll spend this entire time convincing you until you do. But she’s amazing. It won’t take much.  You will hear from me again, Eren Jaeger
You pull another page out, opening up the crinkled pages, the block sitting in your throat.
Hi (Can you tell me your name? It feels weird to call you The Institute. Like that’s almost dystopian.)  It’s Eren, again. Y/N is going to perform her song, New Year’s Day at the award show tomorrow. It’s her first one and it’s perfect. Like genuinely, who the fuck makes a hit song on the first try?  And even after making something great, she’s trying to be better. She doesn’t like to play the piano, but she tries anyway. Every time I try to teach her, she’s hanging on the ends of my words, trying over and over again until she’s satisfied.  She works very hard. I’m asking you to not overlook that.  See you soon (and when’s your birthday? We’re basically becoming friends at this point.)  Eren Jaeger
You flip the pages, again.
Good morning/good afternoon/good evening (covering all my bases, I don’t know where you live),  Now, don’t start discrediting what I’m saying as biased because of the rumors.  Granted, they are true. I adore Y/N with my entire heart. I love her with every fiber of my being. But that doesn’t discredit any of her work or how I’m vouching for it. Because she truly is amazing.  Her new movie is coming out on Saturday and her album on Sunday. Quit being assholes and give her this award already.  She deserves it. Really.  My deepest apologies (for calling you assholes and for bothering you all these years),  Eren Jaeger
And again.
Hi,  We broke up. And we don’t really talk much anymore. But the fact that I’m still writing this to you should be proof enough for you to at least CONSIDER her as a triple threat.  Like seriously. We aren’t even dating and I’m still raving about her work (because it’s that good).  Her new movie comes out soon.  She is all things great. The sun, the moon, the stars and everything in between. The light in the dark, every cheesy thing you can think of.  Art is a reflection of who you are. And her art has always been the best.  For the love of god, give in already,  Eren Jaeger.
And the last one, despite being the shortest one, is what hurts the most. Dated for the day after the awards show, what you assume is barely hours after Eren was sobbing during your performance.
Dear The Institute,  Thank you for listening. And for making her dream come true.  Best,  Eren Jaeger
You hold the letters close to your chest as you cry into the box, nearly twenty or thirty pages you still haven’t read. Of Eren, his messy handwriting, and his endless love for you.
His words ring in your mind. They don’t make any sense and none of it does. You didn’t have any faith in me like I did you. Your parents weren’t famous and you had no ins. I have to do something to offset that if you’re my co-star.  I’m not lying to you when I’m trying to make you feel better or tell you that you’re great. Maybe Hange and Levi are, but I’m not. I’ve always thought you were great.
You sit up from the bench and walk out the door with the box in your hand. You find Falco and Colt standing on the curb against the car, soft smiles on their faces as they push you into the car. And take you where no one gets to touch you, suck you dry, push you too hard, take what you love most away from you ever again.
Your most haunted memory sticks out to you as you drive away. As you feel the physical weight of this life be left behind on that piano and let him go.
The waves continue to crash, Eren’s hand raking through your fingers as you both look up at the moon, shining above you.
“Y/N.”
“Yes, Eren?”
“Have you ever been skinny dipping?”
You curl your nose in disgust.
“When would I have time to go skinny dipping, Eren? And if I did, you would have known.”
Eren turns on his side, a bright smile on his face.
“Let’s do it.”
“What?”
“Skinny dipping.”
“Eren. Quit being ridiculous.”
He rolls his eyes.
“I just turned twenty-two. Like fifteen minutes ago. I am the pinnacle of seriousness.” he states, putting on his best Erwin-like tone.
“Eren.”
“Come on. It’s like a quintessential experience. We don’t get those - prom, memorizing your crush’s classes and waiting outside them, going on a date in the city. Let’s do this one.”
You nod as you both trudge to the shore, hands locked together as you quickly lose your clothes and run into the water, biting cold against your skin. The Seattle cold does nothing to help, the two of you shivering in each other's arms as you hold each other in the water.
“Ttt-this was a sss-stuppid idea, Er-rren.” you shiver, glaring at him.
“It-it’s ff-un.” he responds.
You groan as he pulls you into his arms, your face flat against his neck as you guys hug in the water. You can feel his heart beating under your ear and you pull back to find him smiling at you, his hair matted against his forehead. You reach forward and push it out of his eyes.
“Thanks.” he whispers.
You nod, giving him a smile. He’s all but grinning at you, the smile on his face so big that it’s throwing you off.
“Eren. What?”
“Nothing. You.”
“Me?”
He nods, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“Just trying to remember this moment. You and me - being real people.”
“You sound like a crazy person.”
“You’re not a pop star. I’m not an actor. You’re Y/N and I’m Eren. We’re skinny dipping. And I love you.”
You turn your head to the side, confused by his sentiment all together.
It makes sense to you now.
--
Almost a year and a half later and you’re nervously running your sweaty hands against the pleats of your black dress. You half debate walking in, even though you flew all this way. If there’s still a place for you in this townhouse, even though you all but grew up here.
You can hear a loud chatter on the inside, voices talking over each other as you think hard, every regret of yours running through your mind. You wonder if they replaced you already, if your doppelganger is walking around in there.
As always, this is what brings you back to them. All of them. And you hate it. Because as always, they are the only ones who understand. They are the only ones who feel it too.
You’re fish. On the same side of the glass, separated from everyone else.
You supposed that’s what it does to people. That being fish, to some extent, was something everyone related to - not just you and Eren, Mikasa and Jean, everyone else who was famous.
This tears down things that were a resolute fact - bringing you to places you never thought you’d return, to people you didn’t think you would ever need anymore. A fishbowl - separating you from everyone else on one side of the glass, with everyone else - normal and whole - on the outside.
Fame can do that to people. But grief can too.
The news clip rings in your head.
Marco Bodt, best known for his time as a recurring character in the drama series Attack on Titan, died on Friday, five days short of his twenty-fourth birthday.
You brace yourself and knock on the door of the townhouse. Eren’s the one who answers.

CW - Unmasked Ghoul Discussion Re: Use of Fandom Names vs. Nicknames & Maintaining Respect for Privacy
I’ve seen an uptick in people using the name “Sodo” in fanworks that are clearly based on the fictional Ghost / Ghouls universe. This is just a polite reminder that “Sodo” is Per Eriksson’s personal nickname that has nothing to do with Ghost. If we want to respect boundaries, it’s best to refer to the ghoul he plays with another name.
I know part of the problem is a result of Dewdrop and Sodo being conflated in fandom to the point that on AO3, content involving the fictional ghoul he plays has been labeled as Dewdrop | Sodo. That doesn’t mean that fans should use Sodo as a stand-in for Dewdrop, the fictional ghoul you are creating fanworks about.
I may use the term “Sodo Ghoul” in the tags whenever I’m referring to Per Eriksson performing as a Ghoul, but the fictional persona that was created by fans for the “character” he is playing on stage is “Dewdrop.” Of course, you can call that “character” something else if you like, but again… “Sodo” is not a fictional person. Sodo is Per Eriksson. Per Eriksson plays lead guitar for Ghost.
If you hear Papa Emeritus IV calling out “Sodo” on stage, it’s because he can technically call him that without revealing his identity as it’s a nickname. It’s not because “Sodo” is the name of the ghoul. I’m clearing this up, too, because there are people who comment on Ghost content with the belief that Sodo was a fan given name that they adopted for the Ghoul and/or they don’t know what Sodo means.
e.g.
Tumblr media
As you can see by the dates, the misinformation regarding his nickname persists to this day.
There was a rumor started by fans that was never validated that Per Eriksson read a fanfic about his Ghoul persona and expressed that he hated the nickname “Dewdrop.” This is utter nonsense. First of all, please keep fanworks in fandom spaces. Don’t share them with the band. Second, Per Eriksson doesn’t spend much time on the internet let alone fandom spaces. So, that’s just bull.
If you don’t want to call the fan-named ghoul, Dewdrop. You can pick another name. It’s all fictional. There are no rules. Rules and boundaries come in when we’re dealing with real people. Per Eriksson has on more than one occasion talked about how uncomfortable he is with people finding out private information about him.
Here’s an excerpt of an interview you can find here discussing his feelings on privacy for context:
Tumblr media
This was from 2012, so you can imagine how he feels about it now. You can probably understand why he doesn’t post often or only puts his content up for a limited amount of time. You can probably understand why he snapped at fans digging into his personal life a few years back, deleting everything he ever posted online. We’re not entitled to know everything about him.
Using his personal nickname for fictional content is blurring the lines between the fictional and Per Eriksson’s personal life. There are aspects of the “character” he plays on stage that can be inspired by him, but there are other things about him that are very personal or they’re unique to him. Maybe he cares. Maybe he doesn’t. I can’t speak for him, but I do think it’s important to draw a line.
I’m not trying to lecture or shame anyone specifically. I just want to remind everyone that Dewdrop is fictional, but Sodo is not. Dewdrop may be portrayed by Per Eriksson, but Sodo is Per Eriksson. Using his personal nickname for fanworks would be just the same as calling Swiss Ghoul, Jutty, which is Justin Taylor’s personal nickname. If that’s obviously crossing a line to you, then it shouldn’t be any different when it comes to using Sodo and Dewdrop interchangeably in fanworks.

GOLD RUSH: PART ONE
— harry is your ex-husband and the father of your child, and the both of you are just trying to make it work 💛 (loosely inspired by taylor swift’s “gold rush”)
Tumblr media
——
For you, Nashville used to be a place where family and love resided. When Harry realized he found fulfillment in writing songs there, he suggested buying a house in the eastern part of the city where the historical streets and electric nightlife lent him endless inspiration.
That was during the honeymoon phase when you two were bound by a thread of intense desire. Shortly after, the newlywed phase came with spontaneous decisions you couldn't help but ride along with. Even the marriage itself was on a whim. Harry bent down on one knee after only one year of long-distance dating, never sounding more confident than when he asked you to be eternally his. Again, you agreed. But why?
Let's just say he has a contrarian way of thinking paired with strong persuasion skills.
Two months after getting married, you fell pregnant and welcomed a baby before the first wedding anniversary could even pass. To put it truthfully, it was unexpected. There was no plan to become parents so soon, especially since Harry was at the height of his career. Nonetheless, both of you adapted to his busy lifestyle for the family's sake. Everything was arranged around his schedule, yet you never thought twice about it.
There's no doubt that Harry is a wanted man. Everyone needs something from him, whether an interview across the country or a tour on another continent. He accepted the business calls and flights with no hesitation, and you couldn't necessarily blame him since it's all he's known for over a decade. However, after a while, it reached a point where you weren't seeing him in person for several weeks at a time.
When you were his girlfriend, it was tolerable. As a mother, it was unbearably desolate.
He's a yes-man who shies under authoritative rule, and it affected every crevice of your private life with him. All you needed was for him to be present. That's not to say he was disconnected or couldn't bond with his baby during the instances he was around; it was quite the opposite. You had never seen him so enamored with another human before. Unfortunately, the limited time he was home without obligations tying him down was too much for you.
Those exhausting nights spent alone trying to calm a crying baby, wads of dwindling cash being slapped in the babysitter's hand, keeping up with time zones just to call your husband for a short and measly conversation about nothing—it was miserable upon reflection.
Harry had attempted to convince you to join him on tour with the baby, but you could clearly see in his eyes that he was hesitant. All the traveling, sleepless nights, and potential invasion of privacy would have been too risky for such a delicate part of your lives.
Eventually, the bomb dropped. You had a nagging thought in your brain that wondered why Harry couldn't just trim the length of his tour so he could stay with you more often. Or at least try to visit every once in a while on his days off. It shouldn't be considered selfish to ask for such things, right?
Well, you were terribly mistaken. Those dreaded questions you asked him over a late-night phone call turned into a screaming match. Words like weapons were thrown around, ones you still regret today. Harry had cowered while putting his guard up, claiming it was his job and that he couldn't always be home. Something along the hurtful lines of "I can't do two things at once" sealed the deal.
So, while sobbing on your bedroom floor as your baby cried in the next room over, you suggested a divorce. It was later finalized with paperwork signed by both parties. One signature took substantially longer to get, but dwelling on that fact eats you alive.
A lot has changed in the year since you've separated from Harry. You don't hate him anymore, for one. You never expected to fall out of love with him since his presence is too comfy, and his efforts to mend things are too admirable. Vulnerable conversations with him elicited a mutual agreement that you shouldn't shut each other out, especially with a child involved.
Now, you successfully co-parent with him during the periods he's not touring. The child custody lawyer recommended the 3-4-4-3 schedule: Harry gets your daughter for the first three days of the week while you get her for the last four. The fourth day is swapped every other week to maintain an equal parental balance.
You would say it's going well so far. It's a little trickier now, considering this is the first time he's been on tour since the divorce, so the scheduling is constantly being rearranged. You've discussed the possibility of flying out to a few shows every month and then Harry flying out to Nashville on his days off.
It's Friday, your day with your daughter, and Harry just so happens to be playing a second sold-out show in Nashville tonight. You couldn't attend the first one because of work, but you're here now, standing in front of his dressing room at the Bridgestone Arena. As you wait for him to finish getting ready, your daughter rambles about what she wants Harry to wear tonight. Wishes of princess dresses and tiaras are sprinkled throughout her incoherent toddler speech.
"Is that who I think it is?" Outside the closed door, Harry's deep voice makes your face heat, as you anticipate it to do whenever he's around.
Your daughter's head snaps toward the sound of her father, her expression immediately lighting up. "Me!" she shouts excitedly, trying to wiggle her way out of your arms.
"Uh-oh. Sounds like trouble over there," he says teasingly.
She giggles and reaches over to try and turn the doorknob, but Harry beats her to it. The door swings open, revealing your ex-husband in a tight-fitting silk vest with matching trousers the color of ivory. He looks like an actual angel sent down from heaven. You sometimes wonder what it must be like to be as beautiful as him.
Harry gasps dramatically when he sees who you're holding and scoops her into his tattooed arms, kissing her cheek repeatedly. "I haven't seen you in forever," he murmurs against her head. "I missed you so, so much."
It's been almost two weeks since he flew out to visit when he had a few days free from performing. Rehearsals and meetings have been bogging up his time, so you know it's been killing him to go so long without seeing her.
You silently admire their indescribable bond through a lens of what could have been. Your mind occasionally creates scenarios about him that you'd like to be true. In moments of weakness, you pretend there's still a wedding ring on your finger, and you even shamefully put it on sometimes. You pretend Harry is sleeping next to you at night by laying a pillow on the other side of the bed and letting your body naturally drift over to hold it. You pretend the songs he wrote about you aren't about the heartbreak and loneliness you caused, instead choosing to believe they're about someone else.
"Picture," says your daughter, lightly hitting the phone in your hand and pulling you from your wandering thoughts.
"Do you want to take a picture of him?" you ask her, placing the phone in her grasp.
She nods and fidgets with the side buttons. You take her from Harry's arms and help her hold the phone, telling her where to click while Harry sets down his mic pack and readjusts his outfit.
"Ready? Tell Dad to pose."
Harry puts one hand on his hip and sticks his leg out, his back's reflection visible in the mirror behind him. He tries to keep a neutral expression, but a smile grows as the camera flash goes off.
This somehow feels… normal.
You set her down so she can dawdle around the dressing room, then place your phone in your pocket. "Where is everyone?" you ask, accepting Harry's hug.
He inhales deeply and tightens his arms around your shoulders. "Told them I wanted some alone time with you guys."
When you swallow, it feels like there are thorns lining your throat. "That's sweet. I can imagine it gets pretty chaotic back here."
"Mm-hmm," he hums, beginning to sway you side to side. "I'm happy you came."
"So am I," you say, painfully aware of his warm skin against yours. "Sorry we couldn't visit sooner. Work has been really busy."
Harry leaves a kiss so faint on your head that you almost don't register it. "Hey, don't apologize. You work hard enough. It means the world that you both came to watch me tonight."
"Of course. You have no idea how proud I am of you."
He still doesn't let you go, his big, comforting hands splaying across the expanse of your back. "The feeling is mutual," he replies, his gentle voice seeping into your senses. "Proud doesn't even come close to what I feel about you. You know that, right?"
You can't help but brush the dust off his statement and dig for a deeper possible meaning. You still have love for him, you know that for sure, but is it too far-fetched to think he still has some for you? You already know the answer if the songs he wrote are any indication.
In another life, you see yourself happily married and raising a child with him in the comfort of your home in Nashville. Waking up next to him every morning and padding across the wooden floor to the kitchen where you'd make tea and breakfast together. Finding a steady rhythm in terms of balancing work schedules and parenthood, eventually falling into a perfect domestic routine.
Yet deep down, you know it could never be. Harry's lifestyle wasn't made to clash with yours as much as you might have believed it all those years ago. The highs couldn't outweigh the lows. His life moved too fast while yours ran out of stamina trying to keep up. You carelessly jumped into his inviting waters too soon and didn't think of the devastating fate that would come crashing down on you.
You would still die for his love just like everyone else, but you suppose it will fade over time.

Reputation Timeline
This is a very long post that puts all the songs on Reputation in order of Taylor creating them. I’ve also included a few other songs she worked on while writing rep and quotes from Taylor and her collaborators talking about her process.
If you don't want to read all that, check out this playlist of the album in order or this playlist of her entire discography.
I’ve also added this color coded scale of how sure I am of the date:
Confirmed: There is some type of official source for the date
Inferring: Nobody has officially said “This is when we wrote it,” but all available evidence points to that date
Speculation: This date is based off pure vibes and guesswork and is highly likely to change.
Unknown: All that is known is the year (from the US Copyright Offices
February 13, 2015: Taylor's interview with Vogue is published (likely conducted on January 14/15).
"I don’t worry that I haven’t started the next record yet. I don’t worry that I don’t know what it’s going to be. I’m not worried that I have absolutely no timetable as to when it needs to be done. It could be two years from now; it could be three, it could be four. Or it could be one. You get these bursts of inspiration right at the moment you’re not expecting to. You just have to live your life, and hopefully you’ll take the right risks."
March 2, 2015: Taylor is photographed leaving a studio. (Note: I can not find a place that specifies if this is a recording studio, dance, photography, radio, or television studio).
May 20, 2015: Taylor's interview with Marie Claire is published (likely conducted two months beforehand).
Taylor is not even sure she'll have made another album by the time 2020 rolls around. "I'm not going to put out an album until I've made one that's better than this one and that's going to be really hard," she says. And how might her music evolve if she does find love? "If that does happen, I think I could find complexity in happiness," she says. "I don't think anything's ever simple. Just because you're happy in a relationship doesn't mean there aren't moments of confusion or frustration or loneliness or sadness. Hopefully, if I ever find some sort of meaningful relationship, I'll be able to still find inspiration, just through everyday ups and downs."
October 7, 2015: Taylor is photographed leaving a recording studio in New York.
November 13, 2015: Taylor's interview with Vogue Australia is published (likely conducted two months beforehand).
Every two years since 2006 she has released an album, followed by a tour, then moved onto the next one. But her latest album, 1989, might change plans a bit. “This album has produced more number ones than any album in the past, so we’re just going to go with it,” she says, going on to explain how the usual album cycle could be extended. “Then I’ll feel like I’ll need to give people a breather from me because at a certain point they’re going to get a little sick of hearing about me, so I’ll need to go away for a while then, depending on my gauge on how sick of me they are, I’ll decide when to put out the next album.” [...]  “I’ve been learning every single day what the right amount of sharing [of her personal life] is, and lately it’s been not natural because this album is such a snapshot of my life – it was so vivid, direct and honest.”
April 20, 2016: Taylor interview with Vogue is published (conducted in February).
So what the hell are you going to do with the rest of your life, Taylor Swift? “I have no idea,” she says, with a sigh that’s more blissful than anxious. “This is the first time in ten years that I haven’t known. I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened . . . I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something.” Do not freak: Swift is not abandoning making music. Those who know her know this is chemically impossible. (“Her not being creative is one of the last things I’d ever worry about,” the musician and producer Jack Antonoff tells me later.) “I’m always going to be writing songs,” Swift says. “The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too.” But probably not for the moment.
August 29, 2016: Taylor writes in her diary "This summer is the apocalypse."
Gorgeous: Sep. 1-5, 16, 17, 19 (Confirmed)
In the Making of a Song video, Taylor is seen wearing this outfit in her Nashville apartment, which dates the song to September 17. From there, the rest of the dates are just math.
King of My Heart: Sep. 6, 19, 20, 21 (Confirmed)
In the Making of a Song video, Taylor is seen wearing the same outfit in the Gorgeous video and the KOMH video. It's also the same outfit as a video she later posted to The Swift Life (RIP) where she talked about how excited she was to be working after a long break.
September 9, 2016: Gigi Hadid says "You know, [Taylor] is starting to go back to work in the studio again."
I Don't Wanna Live Forever: Early Oct. (Speculation)
In a teaser for the Making of a Song series, Taylor is seen in an unfamiliar outfit (black mesh top) with bleached hair and a thin gold choker that she was fond of in October 2016. She is not wearing her silver J pendant, which she got as a 27th birthday present (Dec 13, 2016). IDWLF is the only song with no video footage that was written in 2016. I don't recognize the studio in the clip, but she recorded IDWLF with Jack Antonoff, who is based in New York. Taylor was on the east coast until October 22nd, and was seen in New York between October 11-13.
Delicate: Oct. 24-26 (Speculation)
Taylor is seen wearing the aforementioned thin gold choker,  with her post Sep. 24 haircut (straight across bangs instead of a side part). Since she normally goes into the studio with Max Martin and Shellback with a few ideas, and creates multiple songs during their sessions, I'm inclined to group this song with IDSB and place it in late October.
I Did Something Bad: Oct. 14, 27 (Confirmed)
In the Making of a Song video, at 4:18 you can spot a gold temporary tattoo on the inside of her wrist, similar to ones she was wore at Drake’s Birthday Party on October 23. Since she is seen working until sundown (She leaves LA on October 28) and had to be in Nashville 13 days priar (She was seen in New York City until the 13), October 14 and 27th are the only dates that make sense.
January 3, 2017: Taylor writes in her diary "I get all scared about the future because so much has changed in the last year of my life. I mean this time last year I was living in LA, getting ready for Grammys and now, I’m essentially based in London, hiding out trying to protect us from the nasty world that just wants to ruin things. We have been together and no one has found out for 3 months now. I want it to stay that way because I don’t want anything about this to change or become too complicated or intruded upon. But it’s senseless to worry about someday not being happy when I am happy now. Ok. Breathe."
Don't Blame Me: Jan. 10, 11, 12 (Inferring)
Taylor is seen wearing a similar jacket as she was papped wearing on the 11th in the Making of a Song video. (This is pure speculation on my part, but the mood also seems to be a bit lower than on other days). We know she was in LA around this time “for work.”
Dancing With Our Hands Tied: Jan. 11 (Confirmed)
This post explains the situation pretty well. There are multiple accounts of what seems to be a similar story. January 11th one of two times she is seen leaving the gym after a long paparazzi dry spell, the other being in July. Seeing as the song is produced by Max Martin, who is located in LA, and the July pictures are in New York, I’m inclined to agree with the original source.
Dress: Late January/Early February 2017 (Speculation)
Jack Antonoff: “Dress is my second favorite [from Reputation]. It's the first one we made for it." Taylor was mostly based in London in early 2017, but there’s two times we know she was in the states. The first is in early January, when Taylor was in California working with Max Martin and Shellback. The second time is in late January/early February, when she was in Nashville preparing for Super Saturday Night. My guess is this was written in Late January, mostly because she was on the east coast, but theoretically she could've done it earlier in the month, or even later in the year.
Look What You Made Me Do: Late January/Early February 2017 (Speculation)
In promos for the Making of a Song Video, as well as in Miss Americana, Taylor is seen with straight hair and her J initial necklace (dating the song to post-Dec 13, 2016). Her hairstyle (the deep side part) is very Mid-2016. For most of 2017, she seems to favor the straight across braids with strands on the side. Long story short (ha), the hair makes me what to put this as early in the timeline as possible. We know Taylor was on the east coast (specifically Nashville) in early February, preparing for Super Saturday Night.
New Years Day: 2017 (Unknown)
There isn’t any footage of this, but Jack Antonoff has said that it came together fairly quickly and unexpectedly while they were hanging out at his house.
...Ready For It?: May 2017 (Speculation)
In promos for the Making of a Song series, as well as Miss Americana, Taylor is seen with curly hair, her J necklace, and not her Sapphire Evil Eye Ring, which starts showing up on June 27th (We don’t know exactly when or why she got the sapphire ring). . Since the song partially focuses on whether or not her lover is ready for the media frenzy that surrounds dating her, I’m inclined to place this song in May, when her and Joe’s relationship leaked to the press. The song was recorded in Sweden, and we can assume she was in Europe between May 15 and June 1, 2017. (That being said, we can assume she is in Europe for most of the first half of 2017).
Call It What You Want: June 2017 (Speculation)
In the Making of a Song series, Taylor is seen with straight hair, her J necklace, and not her sapphire evil eye ring. Once again, I am tempted to put this after her relationship leaked to the press, probably in early June (She is in the states on the 1st and 3rd, and probably leaves sometime in mid-June).
End Game: Mid July (Confirmed)
Ed Sheeran has said that the song was written around July 14th, while he was playing in Connecticut and Taylor was in Rhode island. Ed: End Game was written - I was playing Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and she has a place in Rhode Island, which isn't too far. So she hits me up like, 'I know you're in Connecticut, come around.' I go around, she plays me some of what turned out to be reputation, and plays me this End Game, and I was like 'Man, I really like this. Can I do a verse? Can I do a rap verse?' And she was like, 'Yeah, for sure!' So the next day, I remember, I was in bed, and woke up and got my laptop out, put the song, just looped it, wrote this verse, and I went in with Max Martin, who she did the song with, and recorded it. Then Future did a verse, and then Taylor wrote a verse and we did the video.
Getaway Car: July 2017 (Speculation)
In the Making of a Song series, Taylor is seen with curly hair, her J necklace, and her sapphire evil eye ring, placing the song sometime shortly before/after June 27th. We know she was in the states for most of July, and in New York City on the 17th and 24th.
This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things: July 2017 (Speculation)
In the Making of a Song series, Taylor is seen with straight hair, her J necklace, and her sapphire evil eye ring. For all the same reasons as Getaway Car, this song was probably recorded in July. The exact order of Getaway Car and TIWWCHNT is probably impossible for anyone not involved in the making of the song to know. I could see arguments for either order, but Taylor has said that reputation is in fairly chronological order, I’m putting it in order of tracklist.
So It Goes: September 2017 (Inferring)
Oscar Görres, a cowritter on the song, said he got a call from Max Martin, Shellback, and Taylor asking to use his track after he’d just had a child. According to social media, he had a daughter in 2015 and a son in September of 2017. The interview is a bit confusing, timeline-wise. On one had, Görres says “I’d just become a father,” but then he implies that Max and Shellback had already completed most of the album. (For context, English isn’t his first language). Personally, I believe the believe the September 2017 date. Multiple sessioners have said Taylor said all songs on the album were about her relationship with Joe, and the tracklists in the reputation magazines are out of order, suggesting a late change. Taylor has has also been known to add a song to the album incredibly last minute— most notably Forever & Always on Fearless, but also with Death By A Thousand Cuts on Lover, which had to have been written post April 20, 2019 (but that's for another album).
And that's all for this timeline! Check out my others:

paris - jack hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: Jack Hughes x reader
warnings: heavy fluff, slight angst, mentions of alcohol, kissing
word count: 1.84k
authors note: This turned out a lot more fluffy, than I intended it to, also I think I mentioned everything I learned in french class about Paris, this is loosely inspired by Taylor Swifts “Paris”. Btw thank you for all the love on “how you get the girl” <3
Paris, the city of love, that’s where Jack took you for your five year anniversary of being a couple, you’ve always been wanting to go to Paris, visit the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, go shopping on the Champs-Élysée, eat a lot of amazing food, like croissants, onion soup and many more.
Now five years after Jack and you started dating, he finally made your dream come true. He surprised you with the trip one week before your anniversary, he woke you up early in the morning and didn’t tell you where you were going just that everything was packed already and that you would be able to sleep on the plane. To be honest you needed your sleep desperately, because you went out the night before with some of your and Jacks friends, where one of your friends told you that some guy you hooked up with ages ago, before you even started dating Jack, kissed the sister of one of your ex friends in a club your friend went to the other night, your friend also wanted to show you the pictures they took of it, but you didn’t want to see them, why would you want to see them? You were in a happy relationship for multiple years now and you didn’t understand, why some of the people you knew, wouldn’t accept that and always try to talk about your past hook ups or relationships, which you didn’t care about anymore. If you were true to yourself, it was exhausting people always trying to tell you how you should act in your relationship with Jack, telling you that you weren’t good enough for him or that he wasn’t good enough for you and because of you being with Jack since before he even got drafted into the NHL, everyone watched your relationship grow over the years.
They saw you attending games to support Jack, they saw him mentioning you in interviews, they saw the posts you shared of your time together, they thought they knew about everything going on in your and Jacks relationship, so a lot of people thought, that they also had the right to judge it.
So a secret trip that no one knew about, in a country, where probably no one knew about you or Jack was exactly what you and him needed right now, a break from everything and everyone, just you two together, in the city of love.
Jack tried to keep the destination of your vacation from you as long as he could, but when they called out your flight at the airport and he got up saying that this was your flight, you finally knew where you were going, Paris, the city of your dreams. If you weren’t already head over heels in love with Jack, that might would’ve been what would’ve made you fall for him, he was the man who made all your dreams come true, he knew everything about you and you knew everything about him, he made you happy, like no one ever did before, you wanted to spend forever with him loving you and you loving him.
When you arrived in Paris and drove through the streets on the way to your hotel and the Eiffel Tower came out behind all of the buildings, you started tearing up, you couldn’t believe, that you were actually here, in Paris, with the love of your life.
The next few days you spend with nearly visiting all of the tourist attractions you could, you went to the Louvre, where you saw some of your favorite art pieces, you went to see the Eiffel Tower, for which you got over your fear of heights, so you could look over the city on the highest platform of the tower, you saw Notre Dame and the Arc de Triomphe, one of your personal favorites was, seeing Monets “Waterlilies” at the Musée de l’Orangerie, to sum it all up, the first few days of your trip in Paris were amazing.
Today was your and Jacks anniversary and were quite nervous about it, he woke you up through peppering kisses all over your face and mumbling “I love yous” into your skin “Good morning babe, happy five years, I love you” he whispered when you opened your eyes, slowly you pulled him into a loving kiss “Good morning, happy five years, I love you more” “I don’t think that you love me more than I love you”. You finished your morning with breakfast in bed and got ready for the day soon after, throughout the whole process of trying to get ready, you tried to get Jack to tell you, how you would spend your day but Jack didn’t tell you any of the plans he made, as much as you tried to convince him of telling you, what his plans were for the day, he didn’t let anything slip just kept telling you, that you would find out soon enough. The first thing you both did after walking out of your hotel, was walk to the little bakery you found a few days ago, you could’ve taken the metro which probably would’ve been a lot faster but the scenery was way to beautiful for that, you walked hand in hand through small alleyways with beautiful old buildings that had ivy or flowers hanging from the balconies. The bakery was in a beautiful building that had “boulangerie” written in gold letters over the entryway and it had the best crossaints both of you ever had, so you bought two of those and a baguette, next you made your way into a small family owned grocery store to get some cheese and grapes to eat with the baguette, after you bought everything you needed, Jack took you to the Eiffel Tower, where you sat in the shade a tree threw and and had a small picnic, talking about everything and nothing at the same time, just enjoying each others company. The rest of the day you spent walking through Paris, discovering little hidden parks and small stores with cute souvenirs and other things. When it slowly grew later and the evening came, you were walking along the Seine “I have a surprise for you” he whispered in your ear and led you down the stairs until you got to a little dock, that had a small boat waiting for you, on the boat was a table with two chairs. The table was decked out with most of your favorite foods and the boat was lit up with candles and fairy lights. “Oh my god Jack, this is beautiful, I don’t know what to say, wow thank you, I love this, I love you” he pulled you closer “I love you too and I’m glad you like it y/n”. Jack pulled out your chair for you and you want to sit down, when Jack sat down he smiled at you, you spent the dinner admiring the view but most of the time you were admiring him, Jack, the boy you fell in love with when you were a teenager, your best friend, your everything. After you’ve finished eating, it was nearing midnight, the both of you sat together watching the moons reflection shimmer on the water and the city of love in which the lights turned on and off, “Jack look at the view, it’s so beautiful, everything here is so beautiful” you told him mesmerized “Yep, so beautiful” he answered not taking his eyes off of you, he was taken by how beautiful you looked, like you were with the view of Paris.
When you turned back around to look at Jack you found him on one knee “Jack-“ you were already tearing up, “y/n my love the past five years have been the best years of my life so far and not only those, every year since I’ve known you has been made better through your presence in my life, you are my best friend, you are my motivation and inspiration, you are the person I want to wake up to every morning, you are the person who brings light to my dark days, my sunshine, my daylight, you are the love of my life and I love everything about you, I love your laugh, I love how you can recite all of your favorite movies, I love the way you hug me after my games and hold me when I’m sad, I love the way you say my name, I love how you love everyone and want everyone to be happy, I love how you don’t care what anybody thinks about you or us and I love how you love me and I admire you for you are and who you make me, y/n I love you and I want to spend forever with you, I want to go through the good and bad with you, I want to come home and see you sitting on our couch watching a movie, I want to make all your dreams come true, I want to raise our future children together in Michigan or Jersey or wherever we’ll be, I want to hold you, I want to kiss you, I want to love you forever and I hope you want this too, y/n/n do you want to marry me? By the time Jack finished his speech you were crying, both tears of joy and tears of sadness, this was the question you wanted Jack to ask you since you knew that you loved him.
You cradled his face with both of your hands, holding both of his cheeks and brought his face closer to yours and slowly kissed him, it was a loving, slow, meaningful kiss, when he pulled away, he tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, while gazing into your eyes, “so is that a yes? do you want to marry me?”, “Yes Jack, I want to marry you, I love you and I want to spend forever with you and loving you”. He pulled you in again for another kiss, while slipping the ring on your hand. This time, you were the one to pull away first from the kiss “Let’s keep this just ours, at least for the next week while we’re still in Paris” you mumbled, “If you want to make this our little secret, then I’m more than happy, to keep it just ours”, behind you the Eiffel Tower started shimmering, it’s the only flashing lights with you in Paris, no one knew you here, no one knew who you were and no one here or at home would know about your engagement for the next few days, your love being just yours.
The next few days where spent with stumbling through alleyways at midnight after drinking cheap wine acting like it was champagne, having picnics under trees and visiting many more sights, every day you somewhere found a little note in Jacks cursive letters on how much he loved you and why he loved you.
From these two weeks on, Jack and you decided to keep your relationship more private, like you put a privacy sign on the door, page or the whole world, you enjoyed keeping your love just yours.

Note
you probably explain this before but what is this bad emo book and why is it bad?
It's the one that came out last summer, I don't like it because it does a lot of misleading things on purpose to like craft a narrative that is often not true and is also just like full of bad opinions
Here are some examples off the top of my head-- didn't double check but pretty sure these are all right
Quotes someone saying that Brand New never got credit for inspiring other bands to write rock operas and then almost immediately cuts to the recording of The Black Parade. Obviously, the implication here is that Brand New inspired The Black Parade. In reality, TBP came out before Brand New's album and Green Day's American Idiot came out before both.
Quotes someone who says they never liked Panic! and has never been personally involved in any capacity with Panic! as saying "Ryan left the band." Ryan and Jon were very adamant this was not the case. I do think this was a very important person to interview, but this person should not have been the one to explain the split.
The producer for Fever claims that the Plain White T's quit the Panic! tour on a specific date and its implied that this was a factor in why Ryan "left Panic." In reality, I found several sources all saying The Plain White T's performed with Panic long after this date. TBH, I doubt this happened, let alone influenced the split.
Quotes HIMSELF saying FOB and MCR went on hiatus "at about the same time" when in reality they went on hiatus 4 years apart. When you think about how short-lived emo as a genre was, 4 years is huge. This is so lazy and is probably just because he thinks Danger Days is not worth talking about because he has the same basic opinions every other man on reddit has
There's like a ton of irrelevant losers whining about Hayley Williams like she's a misandrist dictator that doesn't pay her male employees fairly. Brendon is not talked about like this AT ALL-- Hayley has "sideshows" and drama because she's a catty woman, but with Brendon it just kind of happens, oops! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
IIRC there is little to no discussion of the political/religious elements of the Paramore split and Taylor York is not mentioned at all. It is made out to be entirely about royalties and the misandrist wage gap. No one from Paramore was actually interviewed, they used quotes from a Paramore interview done by a woman and obtained permission from Vox media company, NOT the actual author. The fact that this was done is not clearly stated and is slipped into the copyright at the back.
This is like a whole side quest I don't want to get into because I had to attempt to decode what happened via LiveJournal comments which isn't the best source. But like this guy interviewed in the book who whines about Hayley's royalties like interviewed Paramore on tv. Apparently allegedly during the interview the homophobic one accused her of sleeping with Taylor York and it not being Christian or something among other things, and also he wrote this really unnecessary article about an AbsolutePunk thread where guys were talking about whether they'd fuck her or not. I think this explains a lot about how the entire Paramore conversation in the book is just a bunch of random incels whining about something that has nothing to do with them
Quotes HIMSELF saying the "Farro brothers finally left the band." At the time of the article he quotes himself on, one of the Farro brothers was already back in the band and is still in the band. But that cuts against his cute little story about Hayley being a bitch everyone hates, so he had to quote his own lie I guess. Enough about Paramore
When white band dudes like Ryan and Spencer's addictions are discussed, it is always framed in polite euphemisms. When Black musicians like Travie are mentioned in the book, it starts bringing out scary scientific drug names. Not cool.
Has this random nobody who is way too young to be an authority on this say that Pete's hardcore band was one of the first bands to address women's issues. This is absolutely ridiculous and a flat out lie. Almost a decade before this band even formed, Riot Grrrl started as a specific reaction to women's issues in hardcore. A lot of the hardcore bands Pete was playing with were explicitly and adamantly pro-life. The idea that Pete Wentz pioneered feminism in music is completely fucking ludicrous, I hate it so much.
Quotes someone who plays in a band that has written multiple songs mocking feminism and discussions of sexual assault and rape culture as saying there was no sexual assault on Warped Tour. This one in particular makes me homicidal
Somehow can't muster up a woman to ask about sexual assault in the scene, but suddenly pulls out all these random women nobody's heard of to say they know for a fact all these band dudes are straight
As a note to the above, I understand sexuality is very personal and a lot of these band dudes are straight. But that section was so mean spirited and weird and unnecessary and there were better ways to handle it, like having GNC or gay fans talk about how it meant a lot these straight guys supported gay rights early on, or how the gender nonconformity from straight guys in emo made them comfortable, or how Gerard/Brendon being out as NB/pan made them feel represented. Instead it's just weird and uncomfortable to have these random women say "I never saw anybody do anything gay!!!!"
Quotes this random journalist as basically saying Pete refused to admit if he attempted suicide or not and spun it up to get attention. This same journalist also claims to be know FOB and MCR personally and know they have beef. IDK maybe they are friends but I feel like someone legit friends with Pete would not say something so insensitive to not only him, but people who OD or struggle with suicidal ideation in general.
The lack of meaningful discussion about Brand New-- not only disrespecting the women Lacey hurt by not addressing the allegations at all, but also disrespecting Jesse Lacey himself by talking about his band basically like he wasn't in it. The name "Jesse Lacey" is only used six times. It's like he wanted to get paid fanboy about Brand New so badly he didn't care about anybody but me, me, me.
Stuff like this goes on and on and on but you get the point.
Also I want to say that I felt constantly confused on what was going on and what the fuck people were even talking about and I am very familiar with all this band lore. I've read other oral histories for bands I knew nothing about and didn't feel confused at all. This one is just badly done.
He is a bad writer. He is obsessed with quoting himself when his articles aren't well-written, and he, like most people in the book, is a nobody.
The introduction in particular is badly written. It is very obvious he felt guilty about the way he covered Brand New and sexual assault in the scene and was scared someone was going to call his bullshit. So he wrote this weird mea culpa to feminists at the front like Please Forgive Me For Loving Tortured Artist Jesse Lacey but he couldn't put it at the very front because it would be too obvious, so he wrote this weird intro where he tries to connect Paramore/MCR/FOB/Panic/Warped/VMAs in a way that is very weird and illogical and falls flat because there is no real emotion or sense behind it and it only serves as a vehicle for his Mea Culpa To Feminists. It's so weird and awkward and Paramore are, again, a complete afterthought in it. He also makes a kind of gross comment about Hayley's voice just magically affecting people's bodies after he goes on and on about how these MEN suffered and worked hard for their music. Because, y'know, she didn't.
There is no transition into the weird apology either, it is so awkward and out of nowhere after this bizarre and shitty intro.
ALSO SORRY JUST THOUGHT OF THIS there is zero discussion or acknowledgement of Gerard's gender identity in this AT ALL. I would need to go through the book but I'm pretty sure only he/him pronouns are used as well. No wonder 3/4ths of MCR were not willing to be interviewed by this chump
Last comment but in that introduction he tries to make it out like he cares about women's issues and thinks what Lacey did was wrong but the people he is quoting from on sexual assault absolutely screams otherwise. He is a sniveling coward.
TLDR if I wanted to read nobodies whine about their bad and wrong opinions on emo music I would go on Reddit . Which is fitting because he QUOTED A REDDIT MODERATOR

Simps and Riddles
Pairing: Chris Evans x Actress!Reader
Rating: G
Warning/s: none??? too much fluff?? too cheesy?
Summary: reader is asked the question, “how did you know chris was the one?”
A/n: i read after i do by taylor jenkins reid and was inspired. i haven’t written in a year, please be kind! 🥹🫶🏼 also not proofread!
also!!!!! inspired by @astranva’s pe universe but is not related in any way to her series. the pe universe has inspired me to write and get in touch with the creative part of my brain once again. thank you for sharing your brilliant ideas and writing with us! 🥺💖
Tumblr media
“i know in this film your character is in love and married to someone whom she instantly thought to be her other half… now i know you don’t usually answer questions like this, but i’m taking my chances. so….” the interviewer smiled and put her hands together.
“you’re married to chris evans. how did you know he was the one? what moment made you think, ‘this is it. this is the man i’m going to marry’?” you were never one to talk about your personal life during interviews. but just this once, you figured you’d humor them because you were tired and bored of the same questions you’d answered repeatedly. as if it was another script you’d memorized for a film.
“well it wasn’t like in the movies where one thing happens and then you have this profound realization or some sort of epiphany… it was a collection—i guess a supercut.” you laughed, thinking about how cliché it could be to use this term related to movies as a metaphor.
looking at a spot next to the interviewer, thinking deeply you continued, “there was him saying ‘what can i do? how can i help?’ there was him sending a text that said ‘this made me think of you.’”
you looked back at her, seeing her listening intently with a small smile on her face. you chuckled, remembering a moment which you were sure the entirety of the internet also knew. “and—and there was the time when he was trimming dodger’s fur and accidentally shaved a bald spot on the side of his body. he sent me the picture with a message that just said ‘i think i did something wrong. send help’ and i could remember looking at it and laughing so hard.”
of course there were the more intimate moments—ones which you’d like to keep just to yourself and hold onto so tightly with the memories in your hands. these were the quiet nights where you both couldn’t sleep and end up in the kitchen at 2 in the morning to eat taco bell leftovers from the other night just for your stomachs to regret it a few hours later.
times when you’d both be reading a book in the living room, seated on opposite ends of the sofa with your legs right next to each other and asking him, “if you woke up one day and i turned into a worm, would you still love me?” he’d look up from siddharta—reading it for the thousandth time—smile at you with a twinkle in his eye and say, “of course, honey.” then his head would tilt to the side, “would you still love me if i turned into a worm?” you would smirk and say, “ew. no.” he’d tackle you and put you over his shoulder with his other hand tickling your side, you squealing “fine! i would—i still would! chris!”
realizing that you’re getting lost in your thoughts, you snapped back into the present. breathing out you said, “these moments are what made it all click together like a riddle i’ve been trying so hard to figure out my whole life.”
“and it doesn’t stop there. i think everyday there are still moments that add onto this supercut in my head. there are still moments that solidify or kind of—i don’t know… like… emphasize this thought in my head that says ‘hey! this is the one, dude!’”
another core memory popped into your mind, your hand about to go to your belly but remembering that the world doesn’t know and you’re not ready to share the most special one just yet.
you shrugged and smiled sheepishly, “sorry for rambling! i hope that made sense.”
“no i absolutely loved your answer!” the interviewer gushed—no doubt more than glad about the insider scoop she received from you that others didn’t.
once the interview aired, it went absolutely viral. everyone in your family and friends (both from yours and chris’ side) teased you about it, not used to you getting really personal during interviews. sending screenshots of headlines that say “who knew y/n would be a simp for chris evans?” to group chats where you and chris were both in.
fans on twitter going absolutely wild, with tweets that became a topic of conversation between you and chris during breakfast or when you’d both walk dodger together.
@/cevansfan: i want them to adopt me PLS
@y/nchris: THEY BETTER END UP TOGETHER FOREVER
@y/nforlife: wow what a great day to lie down on the highway 🥰
and a few months later, you were finally ready to share one special moment from your supercut with the world.

Daily update post:
A 70 years old Israeli farmer has been killed by Hezbollah rockets fired from Lebaon at Israel. May his memory be a blessing.
The death toll of the IDF ground operation in Gaza is now at 87.
Following the US congress discussion on antisemitism, where the presidents of prestigious universities couldn't clearly define calls to genocide the Jews as bullying and harassment, an Israeli professor at Standford, Jonathan Levav, who has lived there for years, and who said he's raising his two kids as typical American teenagers, was interviewed by his journalist friend in Israel. He talked about the fact that since Oct 7, he has felt antisemitism in the US and on his college campus in a way he never has before. "I would rather be in Israel right now," said the professor. "Really!?" asked his journalist friend, his voice making it clear that he's completely astonished. After all, our lives are currently under threat from several fronts. The professor reaffirmed the sentiment. "It's better to be hit by rockets in the face, than by knives in the back."
Here's another reminder that "Free Gaza from Hamas" isn't just a slogan, we're actually listening to people in Gaza who are pleading for a better life, and to even have a future:
Tumblr media
And while some Gazans suffer immeasurably under Hamas, this terrorist organization's leaders and those affiliated with them live like kings. Better than most Israelis, in fact. The IDF revealed receipts for purchases made by Hamas people of luxury items, including jewelry. A single receipt was sometimes for a sum of money equivalent to two years worth of work on Gaza's average salary. Among the receipts found, were ones for purchases made by the son of Hamas's leader, Ismail Hanyieh. While Gazans suffer the consequences of Hamas' massacre of innocent civilians in Israel, Hanyieh is living in a luxury hotel in Qatar. Hanyieh's personal wealth is estimated to be 4 billion dollars, roughly 4 times greater than Taylor Swift's (Google says she has a net worth of 1.1 billion dollars).
Tumblr media
Dozens of men in Gaza turned themselves over to the IDF today, they were arrested, not killed, a reminder that all Hamas needs to do for everyone to live is surrender.
The following infographic is a bit outdated (from roughly 3 weeks ago, I think), but it shows how much more attention the dead in Gaza get, than the dead anywhere else in the world, in conflicts far bloodier. Even more than in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. So what stands out about this, what makes everyone pay more attention to dead Gazan civilians than to dead Ukrainian civilians? My personal guess is that it's not the Gazans themselves. When Palestinians are killed by other Arabs in Lebanon, Syria or Jordan, no one pays attention to them. When Palestinians are killed by their own leadership, whether Hamas or the Palestinian Authority, no one talks about it. What changes suddenly, when Israel is a part of the picture? My guess is that it's the fact that then, it can be used to attack the Jewish state, excuse the massacre of Jews, and inspire attacks against Jewish people all over the world. Even on the campuses of the most prestigious US universities.
Tumblr media
Why do I bring this up now?
The UN secretary general had been silent on the rape of Israeli women for almost two months following the Hamas massacre, had barely talked about Hamas' war crimes, had failed to talk about Hamas' use of Palestinians as human shields, and his workers had collaborated with Hamas for years, in turning a blind eye to Hamas' use of UN schools and hospitals to attack Israelis from, as well as since the Oct 7 massacre, in holding an Israeli kid hostage without providing him with enough food.
This man is now invoking article 99 of the UN charter.
Tumblr media
This article allows him to call a special session of the UN security council, based on his concern for world peace.
Tumblr media
He did not use this article during any other conflict, no matter how bloody. Not during his years in office while the civil war in Syria continues to rage for over a decade, with hundreds of thousands killed, and millions displaced. He did not invoke it during the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people on both sides in less than two years.
Or let's put aside at the number of victims, and look at the possible risk to world peace.
The global power that is Russia is in the middle of a war, with all the allies it has, and the places where it exerts its influence, such as Syria, and all the countries that are looking at Russia, waiting to see what they can learn from the war's results, and that doesn't make the UN secretary general concerned enough for world peace to call a special session! I'm not even going to talk about the geopolitical results of the war in Syria, which was a training ground for Islamists from other countries as well (for example, we know Hezbollah's terrorists returned from the war in Syria with more military experience than anything they got before). But that wasn't concerning enough!
There's so much that was said over the years about the UN's anti-Israel bias, but it feels like this one really takes the cake.
Once again, the only conflict involving the one Jewish state is also the only one getting disproportionate attention, which essentially (please excuse my language, but I am angry) fucks over every other victim of every other conflict. Never forget that antisemitism doesn't just hurt Jews, there are non-Jews who pay the price for it as well.
On the first night of Hanukkah, there will be 138 hanukkiot (Hanukkah menorahs) lit at the Western Wall, the same number of the hostages who are still being held in Gaza. (this is a small reminder that Hanukkah is a Zionist holiday)
This is 25 years old Gal Meir Eizenkott.
Tumblr media
It was published just minutes ago that he was killed in the fighting in Gaza. Gal is the son of Gadi Eizenkott, who is currently an Israeli minister, and the former IDF Chief of Staff. NOBODY in Israel is sending the soldiers off to fight without a care in the world. Pictured below is Gal with his dad. May his memory be a blessing.
Tumblr media
These are 3 years old Emma and Yuli Kunyo, twins.
Tumblr media
They were held hostage by Hamas. We know now that at a certain point, Yuli was separated from the rest of her captured family, and kept alone. The two girls were released in the hostage deal, together with their 34 years old mom. Today, these girls were discharged from the hospital. They still don't have a home to return to.

Did Taylor Swift write "Sweet Nothing" about Paul McCartney and his wife's summer in Wicklow in 1971?
Tumblr media
The song "Sweet Nothing" on Taylor Swift's Midnights has always stood out to me as a bit of an anomaly. Until this intriguing quote by Paul McCartney caught my eye:
In a 2001 ABC interview about his wife Linda, who passed away in 1998, Paul McCartney said:
"I would go out for a run, think of some words, get home from the run, write them down, and make a cup a tea for Linda," said McCartney, who would bring it to her for breakfast. "I'd make a little tray, and go up, and then I'd say, 'Hey, by the way, do you want to hear some poetry?' She'd always … she'd say, 'Yeah.' And so I wrote that poem." 'Blessed.' I would come back from a run. With lines of poetry to tell. And having listened, she would say "What a mind."
This is a direct quote and exact same storyline as in "Sweet Nothing." There is NO WAY that is a coincidence. So I wanted to see if Paul and Linda had any connection to Wicklow - the place mentioned in the song.
I think the McCartney family vacationed at the Luggala Estate in Co. Wicklow, Ireland in the summer of 1971 as an escape from the aftermath of the Beatles breakup.
A sweet Wicklow love story:
Paul McCartney has connections to Luggala going back to 1965-1966 when he partied at the estate with Guinness Brewing heir Tara Browne who was killed in a car accident a few months after his raucous 21st birthday, and inspired the Beatles song "A Day in the Life." Paul was close to Tara and his death deeply impacted him. This Rolling Stone article details their relationship and mentions that Paul has visited Luggala to visit Tara's gravesite since then on "numerous occasions." Paul had not met his wife Linda yet while Tara was alive, but this proves Paul's deep and personal ties to the family and their 5,000 acre private estate in the Wicklow Mountains, which continued to be a private retreat for celebrity guests until it was sold in 2019.
Tumblr media
Paul McCartney has posted multiple family photos taken by his wife in the summer of 1971 that appear to be taken near the Luggala Estate in Co. Wicklow. He tweeted this photo on St. Patricks day in 2017 which a previous Reddit thread links to Wicklow in 1971. And recently on March 2022 he tweeted this photo which appears to be taken the same day judging by his shirt and his dog, and credits the photo as being taken by his wife (she was a professional photographer) in Ireland in 1971. Here you have a better view of the surrounding mountains and rocky streams (full of pebbles I'd imagine...) It's notable that the second photo was posted March 2022 around the time when Taylor would be writing and recording the Midnights album.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you look at the aerial view of Luggala Estate (Now showing on Google Maps as Luggala Lodge), I believe that these photos were taken in one of the rocky streams that feed into the private lake...which is named Lough Tay. (I like to think it's an extra little wink from Taylor that this investigation literally led me to a lake named Lough Tay.)
This area is completely private and the closest public access is from a hiking overlook. This seems like a great place for one of the most famous musicians in the world to hide out with his two young children, 2 dogs, and Linda, who would have been pregnant with Stella McCartney (born Sept 13, 1971).
We know that the family and their dogs were in Ireland in the summer of 1971 from this newspaper article where they were photographed at an airport in August leaving Ireland, which means it's possible that they were in Wicklow a few weeks earlier in July.
Tumblr media
Even though The Beatles broke up in 1969, it continued to be messy between members of the band and the financials involved for the next few years. During the summer of 1971 Paul McCartney and John Lennon were embroiled in a very public fight. There were lawsuits and scathing letters (dated 1971) and it's all very complicated so I won't go into it here, but this article has a good overview.
The lyric, "Industry disruptors and soul deconstructors and smooth-talking hucksters out glad-handing each other" could reference these incidents. I could see Taylor relating to Paul going through this public turmoil surrounding business with former friends, because it is similar to what she's going through with her masters.
Tumblr media
The lyric "You're in the kitchen humming" could reference Linda's passion for cooking and vegetarian activism. She literally founded a food company and wrote a cookbook. This darling photo on her website shows her cooking at the family home in Scotland in the 1970s. Linda was also a singer and recorded many songs with Paul, so the idea that she could be "humming" makes sense.
Tumblr media
Taylor Swift has been friends with the McCartney family for a while. She first met Paul in 2010. She collaborated with Stella McCartney in 2019 for a clothing line as part of the Lover era, and Stella also dressed her for the Evermore album cover in 2020.
Tumblr media
Taylor and Paul McCartney famously interviewed each other for Rolling Stone's "Musicians on Musicians" in 2020. In this article they mention how they both like writing under pseudonyms.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
But the most surprising thing I learned is that Paul actually wrote a song dedicated to Taylor and her relationship with her fans called "Who Cares."
youtube
Notably, the music video also features Taylor's longtime friend Emma Stone wearing rainbow makeup in an otherwise black-and-white world full of cartoonish bullies. It's notable that the music video was released Dec 2018, right before the Lover era would kick off a few months later. Perhaps Paul was showing a bit of preemptive support for Taylor as she embarked on what many of us believe was intended to be her coming out era?
Tumblr media
Now to the William Bowery of it all:
Taylor clearly wants us to think Sweet Nothing is about Joe because of the Wicklow name drop, where Joe was papped in July 2021, which looks staged to me.
Interestingly, I can't find any photos of Taylor being seen anywhere near Wicklow, but for some reason she staged a whole photoshoot in Northern Ireland in July, where locals said she "arrived and left by helicopter in a fleeting visit."
Tumblr media
She was also seen in several different locations in Belfast in fan photos. This article also says part of Red TV was recorded in Belfast.
Clearly she wanted to be seen and linked to Northern Ireland, and the lyric easily could have been "Does it ever miss Belfast sometimes?" (same number of syllables) but it's not.
"Sweet Nothing" does have a William Bowery co-writing credit. Would Sir Paul McCartney agree to a secret writing credit? Maybe.
I read an interesting twitter thread from a lawyer (who is a Gaylor) that discusses how William Bowery could be a name under which Taylor commissions writing "for hire." Meaning it could be Joe or multiple other people writing under that pseudonym, as opposed to the "Willam Bowery" (spelled different) which is listed as a U.S. Citizen.
Even if Paul wasn't involved in writing the song, I believe he inspired "Sweet Nothing."
---
Note: This theory was originally posted on the R/GaylorSwift subreddit Dec 22, 2022 which is currently set to private. I am the original author of the Reddit post (u/-periwinkle), and am reblogging it on my Tumblr because this theory has been gaining traction and I wanted to create a public version. This version has been slightly expanded and updated with better images. Also, I was not the first person to uncover the "what a mind" quote, and the original person who found it is tagged on Reddit.

You really can't write this shit lmao...
TS's friend group consists of Miss 'idc about genocide and continue to employ a bloodthirsty zionist CEO for my makeup brand' and Cara D who's great grandfather created the Black and Tans which is a terrorist organisation that killed Irish people during the Irish War of Independence. A group that also sent their people to kill Palestinians in favor of establishing the state of Israel. Last night these 3 went to Ramy Youssef's (who Taylor probably met at the "Poor Things" premiere) comedy show in NYC and 100% of the proceeds would go to the Gaza relief fund. The thing is, Selena and Taylor are getting all the credit and praise for Ramy's activism. I've been a fan of her work for the past 10 years and her recent activities have turned me off of her completely. The turning point was that pathetic TIME interview.
I've always thought of her as this well-read individual who can masterfully express herself whether it would be public speaking or writing but I couldn't help but cringe while reading that article. She tries too hard to appeal to gen z and younger millennial crowd when she herself is practically pushing 40 atp. I feel like all of her 'intelligence' came from being around Joe Alwyn who's a notorious bookworm. The fact that she describes her Rep era as 'goth-punk' was the first strike, the 2016 hate train as a ' career death' was the 2nd and the whole patriarchy delusion she went into just hit the final nail in the coffin and I was like 'nope, not doing this shit anymore'.
I know that swifties have been comparing her to Beyonce lately saying things like 'well, Taylor writes her songs' or 'Beyonce can't read' and talking about how she doesn't give interviews so people don't know that she's dumb. And as a comparison I've found her Harper's Bazaar interview that she gave when she turned 40. And good God, I've slept on this woman for way too long. In the interview she talks about building her work ethic from an early age. The dedication of her life's decades (First decade was dedicated to dreaming, the teens were about the grind, the 20s were about building a strong foundation for her career and establishing her legacy, the 30s were about starting her family and prioritizing her own life over her career). She started her own management company at 27, in 2013 she started her charity foundation in which she helps hurricane relief, education, supporting minorities businesses, families with housing needs, water crises, pediatric health care and pandemic relief. She talks about expanding her business ventures beyond music industry, talks about setting boundaries in the world of celebrity culture, about her friends being a group of strong independent women, about the importance of mental health. She also says that she's most inspired by her parents ("My mother has always been my Queen and still is. She has always been so strong and is filled with humanity", "No matter how tired she was, she was always professional, loving, and nurturing."; "My father constantly encouraged me to write my own songs and create my own vision. He is the reason I wrote and produced at such a young age."). That woman is so well-spoken and genuine you can't help but feel warm while reading it and she doesn't feel the need of throwing unnecessary 'smart people' words to seem that way.
Reading Taylor's "Person of the Year" profile and Beyonce's 'Entering 40s' interview were completely different experiences. And as a result, one of them lost a fan and the other gained one. I wish Tree Paine would stop Taylor from giving these interviews because everytime she does, she comes across as tone-deaf, out of touch, mentally stuck overgrown teenager, try-hard bratty diva who can't stand being not the only one praised.
Anyway, I'd recommend to read the full interview and watching her new film. I've watched it yesterday and got the urge of turning my life around. That lady is truly such a light.
Taylor's friend list also includes 'Mr. and Mrs. plantation with slave cabins on the property wedding', 'a sex offender and a SA apologist as the newest addition', 'Ms. "I assaulted my own sister", ' an insecure and whiny music producer who likes to stir drama on Taylor's behalf'. And not to mention that she's dated a nazi this year and her newest flavour of the month is a fatphobic jock with a double digit iq, her father is also an avid republican voter. I think the people she surrounds herself with tell about her more than she does herself.
And concluding with two cents about Joe Alwyn. I'm glad she's out of his life. While I was a swiftie I've watched his interviews and he always came across as a very gentle, calm, well-spoken and a bit introverted man. And she's... well, her. I also think that she'd held him back in her job in regards of producers and directors not wanting their work to be overshadowed by 'Taylor's BF is in this' articles. I'm hoping he does more projects in the future or maybe dips his toes in writing and directing something because clearly he's a talented writer.
Sorry for the long rant, had to get it out of my system <3
I love reading your rants, keep it coming. they are so on point.

taron egerton x fem!reader, fluff
request:
Hi hiii! Can I request a fluffly imagine w Taron Egerton where he's simping over the reader during an interview? Thank youu have a nice day!!!
Tumblr media
a/n: Aloha! I'm scared of this fic not getting seen by the anon that requested it bc I thought I had kept another ask by them, were they talked about it being neutral, if possible, but turns out I deleted it (😭) so now I don't know if they see it. IF YOU DO PLS SEND ME AN ASK SAYING YOU SAW IT, I AM BEGING. Btw inspired by you are in love by taylor swift, I thought that was obvious though, kinda want to do a part 2 where you keep his shirt and he keeps his word, but it's just an idea
tags/warnings: not proofread at all, wrote it half-drunk idk if it's obvious lmao, language, mention of reader's hair, taron & reader swooning and dying and being obsessed with eachother, she/her pronouns, drinking, casual love confession, third and first person pov, i think that's all.
word count: no word count bc I was bored, but it's pretty long ig

Tumblr media
"I think being unofficially adopted by Elton was inevitable on set. We've just recognised that only one could be the favourite."
She nods slowly and a grin forms on her face. Taron can't form more of a smile. His cheeks were in pain. Three minutes into the interview and still, not able to answer a question. That's a lie, actually. He could answer a lot of questions. What her favourite song is, the amount of summer fruit she eats in wintertime just because they look cute, the color her eyes have when she sits in front of the sun, every tiny little thing, but that'd be useless in a press tour.
His favourite questions though would be the ones he asked her. The ones about music. How much she relates to Vienna, the guitar solo from Killer Queen, what does she think of the cowboy like me lyrics. Anything she could talk about for hours, he could listen to for hours.
"My back hurts." She whispers to him during the commercial break he didn't realize they were in. "What?"
"My back hurts from carrying this interview. Say something. Otherwise I'm going to die the day Jimmy Fallon makes an interesting conversation point." She whisper-shouts and him.
"I mean it's pretty hard to be hated when you don't have a personality, isn't it?"
He shrugs and smiles at her.
"I feel bad, we're sitting here gossiping about our host. But yeah. True."
She giggles thinking of his joke again. He looks at her as he is trying to keep his smile from exploding. As if he'd laugh with all his teeth if he let go. He's looking at every part of her, his eyes following the curves of her hair, her cheeks with their smile lines, because of her wide beams throughout the years. His eyes going all over her, as if he was scanning her, as if he'd been memorising every little one of her characteristics.
"What's wrong with you today, did I turn into a ghost?" She asks him, smiling.
"What?" He laughs slightly.
"You look at me all the time with that dead fish face. As if you're constantly wondering about something."
"I wonder about a lot of things, I'm a very philosophical man."
"I'm pretty sure that's how Freud's mommy issues started."
"Stop it."
"You stop it."
"Stop what?"
"Being so distracted."
"Only when you stop being so distracting."
"I know, I'm gorgeous but get your shit together."
"You are." He turns to look at her and smiles.
Stunned, she pauses a bit, pursing her lips together. As if she wasn't expecting the compliment. As if he didn't look captivated by every little move she made, the fidgeting of her hands or the twitch of her nose when she was confused. She also turns to look at him.
"Thank you." She lets out a breathy laugh.
"You don't look half bad. Actually, no. You don't look quarter bad! I don't even know if that makes sense, but it felt nice to say." She feels something newfound. Something hopeful and surprising all together. She wondered if he could see it in her eyes, though she hoped he couldn't because it felt vulnerable. She wasn't at ease, she was just delighted enough to only fly right over her safety net. Just in case.
***
As a person I have a lot of qualities, whether people would argue if they're good or bad, I did and they were a lot. Sadly, being patient is not one of them. I have to be distracted from everything at anytime and be constantly stimulated. Sitting down on a makeup and hair chair to be Laura's laboratory animal was one of these activities. One that could bore me very easily, but I also loves doing. It makes her happy to try new things and it makes me happy to see it.
Scrolling on tiktok, I land on a clip from last night's interview, with Taron.
'Currently needing someone to look at me like Taron Egerton looks at his co-stars',
read the caption.
"You're a lucky ass girl." Laura howls seeing my screen from over my head.
I look up and grimace at her.
"You're invading my personal space."
"You are my best friend, I've been invading your personal space since we were 20 and you were crying in the bathroom of a bar because the little umbrellas the cocktails had were 'just too cute'. Get over yourself, he's as cute as the umbrellas, you were thinking it, I said it."
"I- Touché."
Is he?
I mean he's really nice and you'd probably call him charming. And he hears me, which not a lot of people do - including me - anytime i ramble on about... anything.
You could call him cute, yes. He can be funny aswell. It might be the british-ness, I'm not sure. Though, I do enjoy spending time with him.
He's also nice to look at. That sounds weird. He is objectively, and only objectively, really attractive.
"Laura." I say sternly and look up at her through the mirror.
"Mhm..." She's so nonchalant about this. I need some sympathy here!
"You think?" My eyebrows furrow and I tilt my head. I belive I was denying my thoughts more than I was questioning them.
"If you don't, I will. I guarantee you though, I won't be as successful." Her grin makes me frown in thought. At least this is going to be an interesting press tour, isn't it?
***
"I can't say something like that, she'd kill me."
"You smile like an idiot when she talks to you. If she were to kill you she would've already."
"I- I don't think I would mind. I mean, it's from her hands, at least I'd die a happy man."
Richard squints his eyes. "Yes... And you still can't find a way to say that. Uh-huh."
The backstage for their interview had an air, heavier than it needs to be for Taron to process. Variety interview, press event, after-party. That was the schedule for the day, as of 5 minutes prior. Five minutes, in which he felt actually, relaxed. All until we had to shove a 'Confess your immortal passionate love to your co-star (bonus points if she doesn't hate you)' in the To-Do list. Taron thought Richard might, could, maybe, possibly, ever in a million years, be a bit of help.
But he wasn't, he was just being a dick about it, no pun intended. 'Yeah, you're smitten mate.' as if he didn't know that! He didn't need a doctor's diagnosis to tell him he was absolutely and utterly in love. What were the possibilities he wouldn't be? How could anyone not be? He hadn't ever met a more genuine and caring and generous and sweet person in Hollywood. No, fuck Hollywood, his life.
***
Entering the venue hurt him physically. At least that's what it felt like. You cannot judge him, if you had her waving at you from across the room with this wide smile you would've understood. He purses his lips into an upside-down smile he couldn't hold, he would never want to disappoint her like this, but he couldn't wave back of course. He thought he'd faint any moment if he moved. Right, fun. What was he supposed to do, ignore her? Avoid her? That might aswell hurt more. His breath hitched when she began walking over to him. What was wrong with him? He is a confident grown ass man, why does she make him act like that, how does she manage that? Why can she walk in and make the room shine? Why is she so genuinely funny and interesting? How can she be so talented, but at the same time so understanding of others. If it wasn't her Taron wanted to confess to, he'd ask her for advice.
"Thank god you're here! The music is boring, the food is bland and the people are so rich I can't even comprehend if they're talking about their yacht, their Oscar or their villa."
She clearly wasn't doing any better. "Need saving?" he teases and she finds herself chuckling. That's a sweet thought. A nice way to put it. Need a knight to save her from the absolute dread of boredom.
"Yes, Romeo."
"Romeo? I'm flattered."
"You shouldn't be, you die."
"I die in love."
"You die heartbroken, have you read it?"
"Under love's heavy burden do I sink."
"Very well delivered, congratulations."
"Thank you very much."
She smiles and sighes, he's so stupid, it's kind of adorable. What's even more stupid is how stupid he makes her feel. She feels like a fool when she can't come up with a sarcastic comment. She feels like a fool when she notices looking at her and can't even whisper, if ever utter a word. She just smiles. It's annoying.
"Well Romeo and Juliet is pretty fitting, considering you look like you just escaped straight out of some fairytale." He had to gather all his courage and make this compliment, but at least she liked it. No, she loved it. She adored it. It was so adorable, it was so nice. It's a compliment you see being said in books and movies. Made her feel gorgeous, like she was the only one in the room.
"I- Romeo and- Sorry. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy, not a fairytale." She wasn't sure what else to say and what she did already was supposed to come out way more confident, it didn't. Obviously.
***
I’m not certain how we did so, but we ended up in the backyard of somebody, who knew somebody, who knew somebody who had cheap wine and a good taste in music, but we did. I had a drink in my hand and I was going off about something, but the conversation was changed soon enough. When Taron asked me, how the hell was I single. I looked at him. I squinted and sighed. "Why wouldn't I be? I mean I'm fun and pretty and famous, but who does commitment with a cat lady?! Who would want something long term? Pffft nobody."
I don't think I realised what I was whining on about until I heard him speak up. He said 'Me.' He really said me! It was so foolish, and I was so drunk, but he did say it.
"You."
"Me."
"You're funny."
"Only when I'm joking."
"Fuck. Would you?"
"Would I what?"
"No like, would you actually?"
"...Yeah. Yeah, probably.".
"That's- So you like me?"
"No, I don't think so."
"But-"
"I love you, I believe."
I was just looking at him. I could not function. I thought about the cost of being hospitalised for possible heart abnormalities and cardiac arrest. Saying me too seemed cheaper and more beneficial, so that was what I went with.
"Are you joking?" I let out a breathy laugh, thinking his concerns were ridiculous. "This whole time? Oh my god. I just wasted all this time."
"All this time of what?" He asks and I wonder, how could he not understand? It was so painfully obvious that I wanted him. I craved to hear his laugh and listen to him every day, 'til I would die.
"All this time of not being with you."
His mouth was left a bit agape, but I could see a smile being formed slowly. He just looked at me. With that stupid dead fish face he'd done at first. Laura's gonna love this.
"Could you do me a favour?" I look at him and chuckle.
"What is it?"
"Could you say it again?" I smile, tight lipped.
"I love you."

Okay not to like "but actually" that anon but I went back to that interview with Pattie Boyd where Taylor talked about how she finds some people uninspiring because I think people have taken that quote and ran with it lol. Here's the full quote
Tumblr media
I can see how when this interview was done it was after the rep era so people took this quote to mean Calvin but it's really vague and can mean a lot of people. Also let's say she did find Calvin uninspiring at the time of this interview doesn't mean she couldn't find him or at least the role he played in inspiring as she starts seeing herself in these "fictional" characters. Therefore leading her down to write songs like bejeweled and high infidelity (I personally think bejeweled is a mix of Calvin and joe and honestly when you think about how Taylor has dealt with men wanting to dim her shine I can see this being applied to multiple people but I digress). I wish people would just let this quote go because she clearly found a new perspective. Life isn't rigid. One minute you say one thing and then the next you do the complete opposite. We don't need to hold Taylor to the things she said 6 years ago especially when it's something as fluid as inspirations and muses.
thank you for finding it (also, love the way she gracefully pivots back to pattie in that last bit, it's kind of funny.)

William Bowery
Tumblr media
William Bowery may be more than one person. William Bowery was a mystery from Folklore’s release 24 July 2020 until the Long Pond Sessions were released on Disney+ on 25 November 2020. When Taylor first talked about it she was not at ease, here in the interview with Zane Lowe she has a pause when talking about Joe writing Exile (49:34)
youtube
In the Long Pond Sessions talking about Exile Taylor says Joe wrote the piano and male lyrics. Jack moves his foot and clarifies “Jesus, lyrics too?” Which Taylor agrees with, adding Joe has such a low voice.
For Betty Taylor said "I just heard Joe singing the entire fully formed chorus of Betty from another room yeah" and "I've written so many songs from a female's perspective of wanting a male apology that we decided to make it from a teenage boy's perspective apologizing after he loses the love of his life because he's been foolish" Jack: "allegedly" "no he's been foolish" Jack: "well, we don't know who William Bowery is". "He's a fool, he's been foolish, we wrote it I'm confirming."
to Zane Lowe Taylor (25 Mins) said she and Joe love songs, she said that Joe wrote the melodic structure and she wrote the lyrics.
"We always bonded over music and had the same musical tastes and he's always the person who's showing me songs by artists and then they become my favorite songs". Funny, Harry has tweeted 6 hours worth of song recommendations.
Also to Zane Lowe, she said "we wrote it exactly the same way we did exile where Joe wrote the piano [pause and sharp breath in] I based the vocal melody on the piano and we sent it to justin" "Joe had written the piano part so that it the tempo speeds up and it changes the music completely changes to a different tempo in the bridge" (Below, Joe says he can play 'piano pretty badly')
7 December 2023 - In Taylors Time Magazine Person of the year article she referenced a number of Harry's inspirations and dressed like them. She referred to Paul McCartney who inspired Sweet Nothing and Bob Dylan who was an influence on Betty.
The name
I think every British guy is probably related to a William, as both Harry and Joe are. Harry has stayed at the Bowery Hotel a lot, including the week he met and started dating Taylor. Joe was also reported to be pictured there in October 2016 with Taylor. Which is not that unusual, it's a cool hotel.
Harry's last pre-pandemic show was the Fine Line secret session on March 2 at the Bowery Ballroom when he also replaced “beechwood cafe” with “Bowery ballroom” in falling He has stayed at the Bowery Hotel in April 2012 (when first dating Taylor) and returned in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019 and 2022. Harry's grandfathers middle name was William.
Joe told Kelly Clarkson "William, my great-grandfather, who I actually never met was a composer. He wrote a lot of classical music and he wrote a lot of film scores, and then Bowery is the area in New York that I spent a lot of time in when I first went over there.” Joe was reportedly pictured at the Bowery October 2016.
Song credits
William Bowery is still credited as the songwriter of 3 songs on Folklore: Exile, Betty & Champagne Problems. He's also credited as a writer on Coney Island, Evermore, and Sweet Nothing on Midnights.
In April 2021 Joe Alwyn was credited as a producer for 6 songs of Folklore, including 3 songs William Bowery is not a writer on. Joe has no credits on Evermore and Midnights.
For comparison, Taylor is listed as the writer on This is what you came for, rather than her previous pseudonym
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Timeline
25 November 2020 Taylor announced it in the Long Pond Session.
2021 ? I can't find Joe saying anything about it before April 2022?
15 March 2021 Folklore wins AOY Taylor said "I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine" in her Grammy acceptance speech, (Aaron pursed his lip)
?? April 2021 - Joe has production credits on 6 songs
5 December 2021 - You're Losing Me was written
19 April 2022 - When asked if they'd write again, Joe told Elle "“It’s not a plan of mine, no.”
18 May 2022 - Taylor stopped liking Joe's IG posts and he didn't come to her NYU graduation.
19 May 2022 - Joe went on Kelly Clarkson to talk William Bowery, he looks down and blinks a lot when speaking.
After this Joe looked mad in the VMAs and walk before Midnights release and not seen again
21 October 2022 - Midnights released with Sweet Nothing, Joe doesn't seem to have been mentioned by Taylor or her team.
Always playing instruments
To Zane Lowe Taylor said, while discussing William Bowery:
"He's always just playing instruments and he doesn't do it in a strategic ‘I’m writing a song right now’ thing he's always done that”
However, even after Folklore Joe said this on playing instruments:
Saying, “I like music, and I played a bit of guitar awfully in a school band when I was 12.” and “I can play piano pretty badly, but never with the intent of, ‘Right, it’s time for my jazz-fusion album.'”
Harry has spoken about the importance of constantly picking up instruments, has hunted down unique guitars and a Dulcimer for Fine Line. In 2013 was taking piano lessons while touring with One Direction, now he tours with a Piano on tour to write on. Like the 10 minute ballad he wrote for the last LOT show.

Sweet nothing
Sweet nothing could be about Paul and Linda McCartney.
Taylor liked this old post with it the day she released you’re losing me and announced it was written 12 December 2021. The post links sweet nothing to a Paul McCartney Quote about Linda. Harry has referenced Paul and Linda’s collaboration album Ram many times, long before the WB songs:
To Howard stern in February 2020
To rolling stone in 2019
In his another man mix tape in 2017
Paul also interviewed Harry or Another Man and gave him advice on going solo. And Sweet Creature's melody has an homage to Paul's Blackbird.
Paul and Taylor also interviewed each other for Rolling Stone, it is fantastic interview, after Folklore. Interestingly they talk about pseudonyms and Taylor doesn't mention Joe or William Bowery. But does talk about writing under Nils Sjöberg.
"A pseudonym comes in is when you still have a love for making the work and you don’t want the work to become overshadowed by this thing that’s been built around you, based on what people know about you. And that’s when it’s really fun to create fake names and write under them." "I remembered always hearing that when Prince wrote “Manic Monday,” they didn’t reveal it for a couple of months."
Paul said his pseudonym was Fireman, which is referenced in the video for Willow. The phrasing of 'thing that is built around you' is really interesting. Joe does not have much built around him in terms of public persona, and writing together in the pandemic is remarkable, but not inconsistent with a public persona.
Bon Iver
Taylor said she hoped Bon Iver would do the project because ‘they are huge fans’ and Joe has a low voice. Justin Vernon and Harry Styles sound similar. So much so critics pointed out that that Fine Line has similarity to Bon Iver songs, Roslyn for example. This mash up also highlights this:
youtube
Even Liam Gallagher agrees, saying in 2019 that on fine line Harry sounded like Bon Iver:

20
William Bowery’s writing credits are on Folklore’s tracks 2, 4 and 14 (2+4+14=20) (see 20), folklore also came out 2020.

Interlude
In between the 1989 timeline and the reputation timeline, I'd like to take a brief moment to chronicle all the things Taylor said about her plans (or lack thereof) for her next album in 2015 and early 2016.
February 3 & 4, 2015: Taylor is photographed at Catchlight Studios. I can not find any record of them producing any song for any artist ever and Google calls the a portrait studio, but the Mirror did call them a recording studio when Taylor was seen at it.
Taylor is not even sure she'll have made another album by the time 2020 rolls around (Author's Note: Taylor nearly doubled her discography between 1989 and the end of 2020).
“I would really like to take a little time to learn things,” Swift says. “I have lots of short-term goals.”
