can an introject/fictive form without a current extrenal stressful/traumatic situation ?

we r possibly in our best place safe stability wise / mental health wise with being in a safe space physically yet we split another introject last night while watching stuff about our special interest

alters always have a reason for splitting and cannot split for no reason, introject or not. this reason doesnt have to be a major stressor, though, and can be a more minor life stressor. introjects are no different than any other alter in this regard. if you are sure there was no stressor to cause a split, they could be a former fragment that latched onto the character for an identity. ive heard that can happen - grey

I just realized I don't think most of the plural community knows what source vs. canon is, so...

Canon is the specific world someone is from, more associated with fictional identities that experience memories. For example, someone who's kin to a Pokemon character might have their canon be one where Pokemon can speak.

Source is the specific source material that someone has a fictotype from. Using the above example, the source would just be Pokemon.

Both were coined by fictionkin! "Source" specifically just got used by the plural community because introjects in particular don't usually have canons, but non-introject fictives might.

Questions for introjects

These are questions I've just been genuinely curious about feel free to answer as many or as few as you want. I realize some of these sound pointed but I'm honestly asking in good faith

(For the purposes of this I'm looking specifically for answers from traumagenic/cdd systems please)

Outside of fusion, have you gained sources? What separates something as a source vs relating to/kinning a specific thing

Did you discover you were an introject, or did you always know? Was there something that made it click for you?

Have you ever lost a source? How do you realize that

Introjects who don't associate with their source(s), do you keep using the term introject for yourself? Why do you keep the label?

Do you use introject, or fictive/factive to describe yourself? Do you have a reason why you prefer one label to the other

Is source separation something you want? Why or why not

If you participate in source calls, what is your goal when doing so? (ie. what are you looking for and why)

🦷 - what’s a fun fact about the current fronter(s)?

Fun Fact time [but make it a crowded front room]

🎸: She's been known about for the longest time- Since 2018! Just losing to 💙 by, like, little over 3 months [He was October 2017 vs her January 2018]. She also has had more than one 'form'.

🐴: One of our two cowboys! He has a lisp [? idk if thats what its called, but all of his s's are kinda sh's if that makes any sense] when he fronts, as well as a southern drawl!! You can usually tell when he's cofront because he has a specific way of talking.

💣: He has a skill for writing poetry! Honestly, I gas him up a lot and im NOT LYING. If he lets you read any, he REALLY likes you, but good luck getting there /silly/.

🪽: He's one of our only recent fictives!! We don't split a ton of introjects in general, but he split [over a long period of time,,, like a year and a half!] because we loved his concept. We are weird about him </3 /silly j/.

📓: The smart one /j/. No but he and ☠️ are the smarter ones of the system, and I wouldn't be surprised if she became a higher up. I'd say thats his fun fact; that she has higher up potential. Not likely he will ever be one, but she does have that level of intelligence.

.... And that's everyone in front other than the higher ups, who don't really want to partake this time!

📺 - are you “heavy” with any type of alter? (e.g. little-heavy, introject-heavy, etc.)

Yes! We are brainmade-heavy, as well as nonhuman-heavy! Most of us are nonhuman, whether it be therian/otherkin or like,, idk,, a vampire, a ghost, a robot, ect ect.

Hi saw your pinned post and I’m curious about fictives vs fictional introjects (which are exclusive, as far as I know, to DID) since fictives also belong to a system does that mean that there are other types of systems that are not trauma related? I am very interested in this subject and want to learn more so any information is welcome!

The term system can be used to describe any kind of experience of plurality.

There are many types and origins for plurality.

This includes psychological origins for plurality that do not stem from trauma.

This also includes spiritual and supernatural origins for plurality.

so the thing I wanted to vent about... I'm a fairly new split, and also happen to be an introject. and I just can't grasp the way some endogenic systems I've seen think about their introjects, as a sort of "catch them all". I'm in a mixed origins discord server, but every day seems less and less friendly towards people with a CDD and more focused on alters/headmates alone.

I wanted to vent some frustration of my being an introject, my memories being... not really pleasant, and I'm aware that my pseudo/exo-memories are a way for us to elaborate our traumas. I changed my mind in wanting to vent my memories in that server because the introject chat was all about which introject a system has, and "who will be next". I'm not saying I'm disgusted, or that I hate that.

but I don't feel good about it. I feel bad about it really, like I'm just a part of a collection rather than a "person". it's not endogenic systems' fault, it's on me for not finding worth in my own experiences, I just feel bad and wanted to say it without judgement, I guess.

Hey — first off, don’t apologize for saying ‘This is a thing that is bothering me’. It’s not obvious — if it were, it would be pretty shitty of people to ignore that pain.

I’m sorry for what you’re experiencing. Our introjects feel similarly (and it’s part of why they don’t feel comfortable being called fictives). We’ve managed to find a few places where introjection is understood, and of those places, they’re the ones with more focus on CDDs and trauma.

I will say — this isn’t just an endogenic thing, or mixed origins, or origin based at all. I’ve found that any space has the potential to be that way about introjects. For endogenic spaces, I feel like it can be more common, simply due to the ‘trauma did not cause my split, so this is a fun time’ aspect VS ‘my introjects split due to severe trauma and it fucking sucks’.

I wish you luck in finding spaces to exist as yourself in. 💙 you deserve that.
