PALESTINIAN CIVIL DEFENSE UNDER ISRAELI FIRE AS THEY SAVE LIVES FROM UNDER THE RUBBLE
📹 Gaza's Civil Defense works to save the lives of those trapped under the rubble of their homes while under fire from the Israeli occupation forces near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, in the northern Gaza Strip.
Despite the continuous shelling around them, the Civil Defense said they'd managed to recover the bodies of 10 Palestinians killed in the bombardment, but also saved several wounded civilians.
Journalist Rachel Shabi eloquently summarising the truth "The only way we are going to get a ceasefire is from International pressure. There's no way Israel's going to do it on its own... By the way none of this started on October 7th ....We have decade upon decade of green lights given to Israel which has serially violated international law"
The more time goes on, the more scared I get for Palestinian civilians, and especially the Gaza population. Say what you will, but Hamas has given Netanyahu and his government the perfect excuse for the extermination of Palestinians. And I need you to understand just how little I'm exaggerating when I say "extermination".
All food, water, medical supplies and all electricity have been completely cut out from Gaza. There are approximatively 2.3 million people living there, of which half is under the age of 15. Israel has been targeting entire neighbourhoods, residential buildings, hospitals, and UN schools which have had to be reconverted into more hospitals and shelters. It has threatened Egypt to bomb its humanitarian aid and supplies, prompting Egypt to retract them.
Worst of all, Israel has bombed the Rafah Border Crossing, the sole crossing point between Egypt and the Gaza Strip (right after instructing Gazan civilians to flee through it). In other words: the only escape route for Gazans is now destroyed. They are completely trapped in Gaza, a region under siege. And if you think they will not soon do the same to the West Bank, you're mistaken.
I have said it, and I will say it again, I wholeheartedly support Palestinian liberation. I understand that decolonisation is a violent process. I do not have to like it, but I understand it and accept it. No people have ever overthrown their oppressors by asking nicely. But I truly hope that either the international community will be able to pressure the end of the fight (which, given how hypocritical they have proven to be, I sincerely doubt), or that Palestinians will succeed in taking back enough land and power; because if they don't. If they lose. The fallout will be more horrifying than anything I think we've ever seen in the history of this conflict.
Right now, all I know is that thousands are starving, thousands are dying, and besides speaking up about it I know there isn't much more I can do. it's driving me insane.
I hate Hamas, but fuck, I hope they know what they're doing, because I do not want to see the fallout of this if they don't.
Germany believes in free speech, but not for Palestinians
“For millions of Palestinians, the Nakba is not just a historical event but an ongoing reality. The confiscation of Palestinian land and the forced displacement of Palestinians continue to be major issues, as can be seen in places like Al-Araqib in the Negev and Sheikh Jarrah, where Palestinian residents face the constant threat of dispossession and displacement. Consequently, the Nakba remains a unifying force connecting Palestinians across borders and generations, serving as a symbol of their shared history and ongoing struggle for justice and self-determination.
“Berlin is one of the hundreds of cities around the world that sees regular Nakba demonstrations. The German capital has been home to a large Palestinian community since the 1960s, initially made up of Palestinian students, refugees from Lebanon, and political exiles. The community has grown over generations to become one of the largest in Europe, with an estimated forty thousand people. Beyond preserving their culture and heritage, Berlin’s Palestinians are actively engaged in advocating for Palestinian rights in Germany and raising awareness about their cause.
“Over the last year, however, the atmosphere has changed. On April 17, a demonstration and two rallies commemorating the Nakba and showing solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails were banned by Berlin police. Citing previous incidents of antisemitic slogans heard on pro-Palestine marches, authorities claimed the ban was a preventative measure to avoid the imminent risk of antisemitism, incitement, violence, and disruption to public peace and security ...
“Despite the repression over the last year, Palestinians in Berlin are once again getting ready to commemorate the Nakba later this month. Nakba75, a campaign that was launched on March 8 in preparation for the commemoration, is planning a broad mobilization across Germany against the ban on demonstrations and against anti-Palestinian racism in Germany ... Hanging over their heads during all of their preparations is the looming threat of another ban, which, if implemented, would suggest that the Berlin authorities plan to shut down Palestinian activism in the city for good.”

DEADLY ISRAELI ATTACKS ON SOUTHERN LEBANON KILL THREE PARAMEDICS
The Israeli occupation army launched strikes on several towns and villages in southern Lebanon on Monday, including an airstrike on a medical center in the Lebanese village of Odeisseh which killed three paramedics belonging to the Islamic Health Authority (CDH) of Lebanon's Civil Defense forces.
Resistance forces in southern Lebanon identified the three paramedics who were killed as Hussein Ibrahim, Ali Sweidan, and Abbas Hojeij.
According to local reports, Lebanon's Health Ministry condemned the airstrike "in the strongest possible terms," and declared the attack as "unacceptable".
A previous strike on February 23rd also targeted the CDH headquarters in the town of Bilda, which killed two medical personnel, Mohammad Yaaqoub and Hussein Mohammad Khalil.
Journalist Anas Al-Sharif reports on Telegram that the IOF has once again bombed a home on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City. This street has been targeted several times in the past week.
The French Navy just released images of the tanker Marlin Luanda, burning in the Gulf of Aden last night after a Houthi missile attack when the tanker refused to heed calls to turn around. The French frigate Alsace, the USS Carney, and INS Visakhapatnam responded to the vessel, finally controlling the fire after 20 hours.
NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson said the group has a “responsibility to speak out in the face of injustice and work to hold our elected officials accountable for the promises they’ve made”.
“The Middle East conflict will only be resolved when the US government and international community take action, including limiting access to weapons used against civilians,” Johnson said.
That @whenmagicfilledtheair blogs blatant antisemitism while simultaneously denying it scares the shit out of me.
Yeah, they are by far the worst I've seen.
The thing that I find the most frustrating about people like them, and why I even bothered to comment on their pinned post is that they demand answers to questions, but do so already knowing nothing anyone says will appease them. They are not looking for a debate or even open to changing their mind in anyway. You can see that if you look through their blog and see how they respond to anyone trying to provide them with evidence of their antisemitism.
That's why I didn't try to answer their pinned post, because I'm not going to spend hours going through their their blog taking screenshots and then compiling my own sources for why what they said is wrong or antisemitic when they will just deny anything they don't agree with as wrong or Israeli propaganda.
The thing is, it's easy to criticize Israel without being antisemitic--just look at how other Israelis have been doing it for years. But that's not what this person wants--they want to paint Israel as the most evil country on Earth, with the most evil people, who do uniquely evil things that no other country has ever done before.
I'm not Israeli, I'm not even Jewish, so for the most part I haven't said anything about this war. I come to Tumblr for memes, art and fandom shit. Yet, the rise of Antisemitism is really worrying me, especially when it's so easily brushed off with the excuse that it's just Israeli propaganda.
Like, I just don't understand why it's so hard to admit that, yeah, given how old antisemitism and how it's shaped a lot of cultures worldwide that it's possible some of it has slipped into the 'free Palestine' movement. This doesn't mean it's an inherently bad movement or that Palestinians deserve to die or lose their homes. It just means that maybe sometimes people should take a step back and see if some of their inherent biases have effected how they talk about this war as opposed to others that do not involve the Jewish State of Israel.
