Suad is a successful engineer and professor from Gaza. On top of her professional accomplishments, Suad found out she is pregnant. Sadly, a week later, the occupation began bombing Gaza and planning an invasion.

Suad’s home and workplace were destroyed, and she and her husband’s family were displaced. While living in a cramped tent and subjected to the elements, Suad became extremely sick with gastroenteritis, a dangerous condition during pregnancy. Food is scarce, and they are all suffering malnourishment.

Suad’s due date is coming very soon, and she wants her baby to have a better life than the one she’s living now. She is trying to evacuate to Egypt, where she and her family will be safer and healthier.

The campaign has been open for several weeks, but has received almost no support. We are trying to get Suad and her family evacuated before she gives birth, so we have only a few weeks left. My name is Noura Al-Dahdoh, I am 37 years old, and I work as a medical practitioner at Al-Sahaba Medical Complex in Gaza City. I am a mother to four children: Obeida (17 years old), Farah (15 years old), Aya (14 years old), and Mohammad (7 years old).

Today, we live under the constant threat of danger, facing a slow death every day in the midst of a mywar that has left us with nothing.

My husband lost his job after his training center, (Development House Center) which was our only source of income, was destroyed. We used to live a simple life, raising our children on hope, hard work, and goodness, but the war took everything from us—our home, our livelihood, and even our peace of mind.

Every day, my children ask me: "When will we return to school? When will we eat the things we love? When will we feel safe?" I have no answers. I can only hold them and promise that better days are coming, even though I can barely believe that myself.

We are not asking for much. We just want to live. We want to protect the lives of our children, to have access to food, water, and medicine, and to restore the dignity that has been lost beneath the rubble.

Our goal: To raise $100,000 to secure the basic necessities of life for my family and rebuild what is possible of a future for my children.

Mohammad describes the horrific conditions of his detainment, including the small, oppressive cell windows and the inability to see sunlight. The repression units frequently ordered prisoners to drop to the ground and brutally beat them.
