Late Night Buck & Tommy Ramble: Shit is getting interesting
I honestly thought today was going to be fucking chill with no promo and maybe only a whisper or two about tomorrow's episode. We currently have 21 hours left until the new episode airs and we have so much to unpack because everyone is just out there wilding right now
Get yourself a drink and a snack and prepare yourself. There is a lot to discuss. Minor spoilers for tomorrow's episode in regards to stills and vague-ish comments by people who have seen the episode.
Buck & Tommy Related Chaos:
I'm going to start with the chaos: OLIVER AND LOU ARE DOING A JOINT INTERVIEW that was filmed today for Access Hollywood / Access Daily that will air tomorrow before the episode.
I am in total shock by this because I've been vocal that I didn't even think we'd get more interviews from these two before the season ended. I would have never dreamed that they'd have them doing a joint interview together.
This is a pretty huge (and good) sign, in my opinion. You wouldn't suddenly have two actors going out doing press together unless (from a marketing point of view) you're trying to promote that couple to the audience. This to me really does suggest they're planning on keeping Lou around and pushing BuckTommy.
I've heard crazy speculation about what the interview will be about but it airs before the episode so likely we won't get major spoilers. We'll likely see the two talking about their characters, what it's like working together and hinting at what is going to happen moving forward.
With that said, I'm really curious at how they're going to sell this on the show. We've already seen Ryan hitting the talking point that Eddie is straight in recent weeks, which seems to be an attempt to distancing themselves from Buddie. This interview tomorrow may possibly give us an idea where their heads are at moving forward.
Regardless, I think this is a strong indicator that Tommy isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I know some people are trying to downplay this as happening because Bi Buck was such a huge storyline but they could have easily just had Oliver on the show. Them having both of them makes this about their relationship, not just Buck coming out as Bi and that's a pretty big shift from the marketing we saw around episodes 4-5.
Lou also posted about it on his Instagram and Ryan liked it.
Also I cannot remember a time that they had Oliver doing interviews with his love interest on the show. Can anyone else?
The kiss on Instagram reels continues to do well. It's almost at 1.2 million, sitting currently at 1183k.
General Cast Information:
Let's start simple with the tweets coming out from press who saw tomorrow's episodes. The overwhelming theme with all of them seems to be a warning for us to prepare for some hurt. I'm preparing myself to watch Hen, Bobby and Eddie all go through hell tomorrow based on what we've seen on social media over the last 24 hours. So let's get into that.
Hen: Early today the official Instagram posted stills from the earlier episode where the councilwomen's son refuses treatment after he accident and dies (which leads to Hen being investigated). They then captioned this "A moment from the past can become so pivotal for your future" because clearly they want to hurt us. It also seems like that congress women is in the episode and we see her in one of the stills at the medal ceremony.
Bobby: It seems like he's going to have a nice father/son moment with Buck at some point this episode based on the stills and what Oliver has hinted at. But I think he'll also definitely be dealing with guilt.
Eddie: Dude I don't even know. Between Marisol being at the medal ceremony with him and Christopher and him taking a row boat out with Kim? This is going to get ugly.
All of the stills were really happy and we know that isn't what is happening in this episode so I'm pretty sure they're from the first 15 or 20 minutes. This show has been fucking with our heads with these promos.
We're very, very likely to get a sneak peak sometime tomorrow along with the Oliver&Lou interview.
I might attempt to make a ramble post talking about the interview prior to the episode depending on what time it airs.
So how are we all feeling? Cause I'm having all the fucking emotions.

I'm sitting outside. It's slightly windy. Not much. Perfect amount for me. And it gives fresh and clear air. I have music. And my thoughts are circling about moonvale of course. So I just want to leave a couple of spontaneous words. Just letting out what I think and feel at the moment.
I'm sorry, Everbyte. I'm sorry for all the hate. And I'm sorry for the amount of people being disappointed in your work. Because, well, there's still this little sprikle of hope in me. Of hope and disbelief. I'm thinking about Duskwood and what you created with it. I'm thinking about all the love we felt through Duskwood. You could see the effort you put into it. We saw the improvements and amazing ideas. Good plots over and over again. New ideas every single time. The quality was already amazing, in my eyes. Sure, some little bugs here and there, but nothing huge. Nothing bothering.
But all this. All things we saw in Duskwood. It made us believe you care about the fans. It made us feel like you hear us, as you said once. It made us feel so happy because it looked as if you're really doing this game for us.
And this.. My brain refuses to believe you really just want our money. My brain refuses to believe that you did, what you did in Moonvale, on purpose. My brain wants to believe that you never meant to make us feel this way.
My brain wants to believe that it all made sense to you, and that there was nothing wrong with it, that it was harmless in your eyes. In your world.
And because my head wants to believe in the good, my heart hurts to see how much negativity you get. My heart hurts to see the hate. And the critism.
But sadly, even if it hurts, sadly it's necessary at the moment to share constructive feedback about it.
But even that must be incredibly stressful, because there are thousands, tens of thousands of people who are currently pointing their fingers at you. And that must be hard. Even horrible. Awful.
As I said, my brain refuses to believe all this only happened because you didn't care about your community and you only cared about and wanted our money. I still have hopes.
And I want to belive you had the same love for Moonvale as you had for Duskwood. If I imagine.. You let your new baby out into the world with the hope of making people happy... And as answers there's nothing but negativity in any way. I have no idea how this must be. And I'm incredibly sorry for it.
And even if I'm completely wrong. Even if you really just wanted money, even then I still feel bad for you about the amount of people looking at you. Even then, although you would deserve it in this case, even then I would still feel bad for you. Empathy is an interesting thing. And parasocial "relationships" as well.
We see what we want to see. But I'm sure, in Duskwood, during Duskwood, we saw who you really are. Because there was no hint of what we saw in Moonvale. How could you fake what we saw in Duskwood?
I wish it wouldn't be the case. But you deserve critism for it. Normal criticism, of course. No hate or insultings. But feedback is needed. In our eyes.
And I just hope that there will be a solution. I hope the situation will improve. I hope so, so much.
Duskwood saved me in so many ways. And it's the truth. Not just a saying or anything. It did. And it gave me so much.
Maybe we completely got everything wrong. Maybe we understood some things wrong.
I just hope that a lot of criticism will be noticed and reflected and that you will find a solution. Because I simply think.. I'm sure we all want to play Moonvale. We all want another amazing game from you. Because Duskwood was an incredible game. A game we loved. And we also want to love Moonvale.
In my eyes, there's so much potential. And I really hope in the next episodes we will see more of it. And less worrying about money.
Of course it's your game. Do whatever you want. And if that's the path you want to take, go for it.
But I really want to say, you have an amazing Community behind you. And if there will be improvements and some changes, I'm sure we all will still be by your side. And we all will support you. This time, gladly. And not because we had to in order to play.
I'm sad. I'm desperate. I'm confused and overwhelmed. And..
I'm sorry.
For everyone. For Everbyte. And for all of us.
I'm sorry about this situation...

oh boy it's that time again
when rachel posts 'video progress' of her work and we proceed to dissect it like a frog in 9th grade science class
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
like ok first the caption of "is persephone the chicken and hades the egg" makes no fucking sense except to anyone who overthinks it and goes "wait is that a reference to the popularly-perpetuated version of the myth where persephone went down to the underworld willingly and hades didn't actually exist???" because if it is ima scream lmao
but MORE IMPORTANTLY-
Here's the transcript of what she's saying in the video:
"I think I've always wanted to write Hades' and Persephone's story because obviously I really like them. It's like very much a chicken and egg situation because I think in the beginning I thought that I was going to use a very abstract black and white style, and I realized it wasn't very enticing or fun for me, um... and I started drawing these very like vibrant characters and as I drew them I understood more about the story the more that I explored the art style, um and I guess an example of that is, y'know, Persephone is like a very bright color um, and the Underworld, is a very dark dark blue, and so when she says she really sticks out so it's just environmental uh processes like that that really helped inspire the direction of the story."
(despite her expanding on the "chicken and the egg" bit it still doesn't make sense imo lmao)
But what we're seeing isn't S1 LO, it's actually from S3 of LO:
Tumblr media
But um... you notice anything interesting about the screenshot I just showed you?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That literally looks NOTHING like what we see in the final panel. At the VERY least I think this goes to show how overcooked it becomes in post-production, when they add the canvas layer and hypersaturate the shit out of the colors, but even the blending technique just isn't matching up?
A lot of what she's doing in this video also feels very... non-existent, like she's brushing her pen around but very little is happening so it feels more like her just putting down random brush strokes to try and make it seem put-together but really she's just kind of pushing colors around and/or doing nothing. Especially when, again, what she's painting here looks nothing like the final picture (so at best it's a lot of wasted work??)
And knowing what we know about the assistants drawing the characters separately so that Rachel can rearrange them in the final episode layout... I don't wanna call foul play here, but this feels like yet another attempt on Rachel's behalf to make her process seem more involved than it is by simply redrawing a scene for the performative aspect of it all. It's like the "sketches" in the books looking way too 'clean' for the final product and giving the impression that she just sketched over the final panels to make them look pretty enough for print.
I also wanna mention that for some reason she's drawing this on her iPad when she owns a Cintiq. It could be because she was drawing this while abroad in the US for her conventions last fall, but despite clearly being ahead of schedule, she still wound up drawing the final episode the night of-
Tumblr media
Oh yeah and btw there are like a million clipping layers for what looks like just a simple drawing of Demeter. And this lines up with our previous theories about her using like 128549021809 layers for literally one character.
Tumblr media
And aside from all that her commentary, as always, is very nothingburger, just a bunch of word salad. Like she's literally trying to explain LO's color theory as "well Persephone is bright pink and the Underworld is dark blue so she sticks out! That's all you need to know!"
IDK, I'm not coming to any sort of ironclad conclusion based off this one video, but it does feel like yet another desperate attempt to prove that she does work on LO and doesn't just leave it all to her assistants to do at the last minute. But like... she's kind of screwed in that argument either way, because even if she draws the majority of panels in LO, that just further proves the argument that she's stopped trying.

a true story Part 2
Tumblr media
Part 1
Synopsis: You thought you would be having a peaceful life after running away from him in Tokyo as you moved into the countryside and built a cafe but what would you do if he suddenly showed up asking for an explanation that night?
Word Count: 7,284 words
Warning: 21+ DNI, gun, swearing, mention of knife, threatening, negative comments, mention of stalker, fighting, betrayal, a sprinkle of angst, open ending.
Note: So I finally finished this yay!! Even though this was also one of my few episodes of 'wanting to drop the fic' I didn't really expect people to be so invested in part 1 so here have some more!
_____________________________________________________________
“[Reader's name]!”
You turned your head to see Megumi waiting by the gate of your house.
“Just a second!” You told him as you closed the hose after you finished watering the plants as you headed to the gate to open.
It's been at least 4 years since you left the city you lived in. You tried your best to leave everything behind so that Satoru won't find you.
You quit your job at the bar, you even begged the owner not to tell satoru that you left your job and you even told Fumiko where you’ll be staying just so she can visit you and give you some updates about the bar but you also begged her not to tell satoru as he knew your friendship with Fumiko.
You even sold your phone behind as you knew there was a chance that satoru could trace your whereabouts. You now live in the countryside that isn't most likely known in Japan.
"Are you not going to open the cafe?" Megumi asked.
"I am, can you wait for a minute? I'll just go and lock the door," you replied as you hurried to secure the house before heading to the cafe with Megumi.
Megumi nodded as you headed inside and locked the door. Running a cafe in the countryside wasn't easy, but with your experience in the bar, you managed to make it work.
Despite the challenges, you found comfort in the relaxed atmosphere of your cafe.
Megumi, your neighbor for the past three years, took on the role of cashier, a move that initially puzzled you given his introverted nature.
However, you accepted his request for a job since you needed someone reliable to manage the register.
Not too long after, you and Megumi arrived at the cafe.
With your keys, you opened the door and the two of you headed inside to begin opening the shop.
You busied yourself with cleaning the coffee equipment while Megumi neatly arranged the pastries in the glass display.
Together, you swiftly prepared the cafe for another day of serving customers in the peaceful countryside setting.
As you were at the sink, you heard a ringtone from beside it. It was Megumi's phone, and you accidentally saw the message.
‘Any update from her?’
Your brows furrowed as you saw the sender's name
G.S?
"Megumi?" you called his name. He responded with a hum while still doing his task.
"I think you got a message from... G.S?" Your words made Megumi stop abruptly.
He quickly grabbed his phone, "Sorry, I'll go outside and answer this," he said before you could say anything. With that, he left the cafe to respond to the message.
You were baffled, it was the first time you saw Megumi panicking. It must be from his family.
You shrugged it off and went back to cleaning the sink, trying not to dwell on it too much. But as you scrubbed, you couldn't help but recall the conversation where you asked Megumi why he moved here.
**
"Why did I move here?" Megumi asked, counting the money at the register as you nodded, perched on the countertop since the cafe was already closed.
"Uhm, I guess my guardian placed me here so I don't... meddle in his business," he replied.
You rolled your eyes, "You're lying, Megumi, your ears are bright red," you pointed out, making Megumi sigh and cover his ears.
"It's just cold in here and I'm telling the truth!" he defended himself, which made you laugh.
"Whatever you say. But wait, you said guardian? Does that mean... not to offend you, but you don't have your parents?" you asked cautiously, not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable.
Megumi sighed, momentarily stopping counting as he nodded.
"They left me and my sister when I was younger," he said, making you want to apologize for asking. But before you could, he continued, "I don't even remember what they looked like, so it doesn't matter to me."
"Then where's your sister?" you asked.
"In Tokyo. She's doing some job, that's why she's not with me here," he answered.
"I guess that guardian of yours is an angel," you told him, but he only groaned in annoyance. "He's a pain in the ass," Megumi said, making you laugh.
**
As the sun set, the closing of the cafe drew near.
Today, a lot of customers came, which made you happy knowing that the pastries wouldn't go to waste, and the aroma of the coffee made it feel even more like home.
As soon as it hit 10, you closed the sign, and you and Megumi began packing up. You were busy cleaning the tables while Megumi handled the money in the register again.
"Megumi," you called out while wiping down a table. "You can head home after counting the money," you told him.
"Are you sure?" he asked, a hint of hesitation in his voice. "We usually head out at the same time," he added.
"Yeah, but I have to go somewhere first before I head home," you told him.
Megumi was hesitant at first, but then he proceeded to agree as he went on to count the remaining money.
After Megumi bid goodbye to you, you were left alone in the cafe.
Once you finished cleaning, you began to switch off the lights before locking the main door.
Walking down the streets, you hugged the heat pad closer as the weather began to get colder with winter nearing.
Stopping by the cake shop, you entered and were greeted by the cashier.
"What can I get for you, ma'am?" she asked. "Do you have any bento cakes?" you inquired.
"We do! We have a lot of variations of bento cakes. Feel free to pick one you like," the cashier replied, gesturing to the display of cakes.
Not too long after, you picked your desired cake and paid for it before heading home.
Just as you arrived at your gate, you noticed the lights on in Megumi's house and a silhouette larger than Megumi's. It seemed he had some visitors.
Shrugging it off, you got inside your house, turning on the lights and the heater as you headed to your table and began to open the cake.
Glancing at the time, you saw it was already 12:14 am. You sighed as you lit the candle.
You started to sing yourself a happy birthday before making a wish and taking a bite of the cake.
It was another birthday alone. It was hard to get used to, but what could you do? With divorced parents busy with their own families, they had forgotten about you. Your other relatives were in Tokyo, and since you moved to the countryside, you weren't expecting them to visit.
You didn't want to hear their pitying comments anyway.
You didn't even eat half of the cake before you stood up to clean the table and put the cake in the refrigerator.
"I should give some to Megumi tomorrow," you muttered after closing the refrigerator.
Then you headed to the bathroom to change and brush your teeth before finally heading to bed.
**
The next morning, you woke up to the sound of your doorbell, a recent addition to your gate in case someone wanted to see you.
It was still too early to head to the cafe, so you reluctantly got out of bed.
Making your way to the gate, you opened it without much thought, only to be met with surprise when you saw the white-haired man standing there—a face you hadn't seen in four years.
He seemed to have changed, a bit more muscular here and there—wait, what were you thinking?
"Satoru? What—how did you find me?" you asked, your face peering out cautiously from behind the gate, ready to retreat if necessary.
"[Reader's name], long time no see," he said with that infuriating smirk.
With an annoying sigh, you attempted to shut the gate, but Satoru was a step ahead, managing to hold it open.
"Oh, come on, is that how you greet someone you suddenly left after that night?" he teased.
"I left? It's you who left!" you retorted, feeling frustration bubbling up.
"I never left that day. It was you who suddenly left with that typical note," he argued.
"Look, the past is the past. Let's forget what happened between us," you urged, hoping to move past the confrontation.
But you noticed the intensity in his gaze. "I was serious," he said, his tone shifting.
"What?" you replied, caught off guard.
"I was serious when I said I like you—scratch that, when I said I love you," he confessed, his tone grave.
Your heart began to race, but you fought against letting your guard down. "You're lying," you countered.
"I'm not," he insisted.
"No, you're literally lying," you shot back, refusing to give in easily.
"I'm not," he repeated firmly, his gaze unwavering.
"How could I believe you?" you challenged, skepticism coloring your tone.
"Believe me? Fine, I paid off your debt," he suddenly announced, catching you completely off guard.
"What?" you exclaimed, incredulous.
"Remember that guy you were hiding in the parking lot? The one that led to all of those... interactions?" he said, his smirk returning, much to your annoyance.
"Yeah, I know that," you replied irritably, cutting him off before he could mention the kiss.
"I did a background check on him and found out that little miss [reader's name] has a debt to him," he continued, his smirk widening, irritating you further.
"I'll just pay you back when I can," you said, attempting once more to close the gate, but Satoru didn't like that.
"If you close this gate, I'll triple the debt you need to pay me back," he threatened, his tone sending shivers down your spine. It was the first time he had been so intimidating.
"Don't forget how much debt you left," he added, reminding you of your past financial troubles.
Feeling like you had no choice, you reluctantly let go of the gate. "Good," he said when he noticed you giving up on closing it.
"What do you really want, Satoru?" you asked, frustration evident in your voice.
"I need a face-to-face explanation of that night," he answered firmly.
"And if I don't agree?" you questioned, dreading his response.
"Then I'll triple the debt you need to pay off," he said with a smirk, his threat reinforced by his control over your finances.
Damn him and his money. "Can we talk at the cafe? I have to wait for Megumi," you suggested, hoping to buy some time.
"There's no need to," he said, catching you off guard.
"Megumi's not here," he revealed, leaving you stunned.
"You killed him, didn't you?!" you shouted frantically, your mind racing with horrifying possibilities.
"Chill, why would I kill the kid when I'm his guardian?" he revealed, his words only adding to your surprised look.
**
You placed a strawberry croissant on the table before sitting down across from Satoru at the cafe.
Since it was a weekday with few customers, you seized the opportunity to talk to him, while he was already busy enjoying the croissant.
"I must say, it tastes good," he remarked between bites.
"Thanks, Megumi made it," you informed him.
"Really? He tells me he only makes coffee here, not pastries," Satoru commented.
"Let's get this over with," you said, wanting to dive into the conversation.
"Okay," Satoru agreed, wiping his mouth with a tissue. "Why did you leave that night?" he asked directly.
You sighed. "No, no. Why did you leave me alone in your bed?" you countered.
"I never left. I was in the bathroom," he revealed, surprising you. Wait, what?
"You were? Uhm..." You stumbled over your words, unsure how to respond.
"So, answer my question. Why did you leave me?" he pressed.
"I left that night because I thought you had left me after... after you just— I don't know— used my body," you confessed, looking at him earnestly.
"I didn't use your body. Did you forget that night how I kissed every inch of your body?" he asked with a straight face.
"You... didn't have to remind me of that," you replied, feeling your face flush with embarrassment.
"I just don't understand why everything I do for you doesn't seem appreciable to you," Satoru expressed his frustration.
You felt compelled to address the issue of Ayaka. "Everyone at that ball seemed so... expected to see you with Ayaka," you explained.
"Was it because of what that old man said?" he inquired.
"No, your cousin... he told me you two were childhood sweethearts. Everyone around you expected you to marry that girl, but instead, you brought me to that ball as your 'girlfriend,' and suddenly it feels like everyone paints me as the villain," you confessed, frustration evident in your voice.
Satoru listened attentively, letting out a sigh. "If we're talking about a villain here, it's Ayaka, not you," he reassured.
"Why would it be her?" you questioned, needing more clarity.
"Well, for starters, Tsumiki and Megumi hated her," he revealed, but you wanted more detailed information.
"Elaborate more—" you began, but before you could dig deeper into the topic, a customer entered the cafe, prompting you to unconsciously stand up and head to the cashier.
It felt like déjà vu, with Satoru watching you from the usual table while you attended to your duties.
Before you knew it, more customers arrived, causing you to forget about the conversation with Satoru.
Witnessing how hard you worked while managing the cafe alone, Satoru decided to lend you a hand.
As 10:00 pm approached, the cafe closed. Satoru watched as you counted the money, feeling nervous under his gaze.
You muttered the numbers, trying to speed through the counting process.
"By the way," you stopped counting and looked at Satoru, "where is Megumi?" you asked him.
"Can't we just have a day without mentioning his name?" he replied, annoyance evident in his tone. "I'm getting jealous, you know?" he added with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes. "I need to know. If he's still not here by tomorrow, then I'll just close the cafe for the day," you informed him firmly.
"He's visiting his sister. She's getting married," Satoru informed you. "He'll come back here by tomorrow," he added.
"Wait, Megumi's 25, so how old is she?" you asked.
"26," Satoru replied.
"Oh, she didn't get you to walk her down the aisle?" you teased, smirking at him.
Satoru sighed. "As much as I wanted to, she chose Megumi to walk her down the aisle," he admitted.
"I stayed here because Megumi literally begged me to stay," he bragged, causing you to roll your eyes as you secured the money.
"I think that's a different Megumi," you remarked dryly.
Not too long after, you closed the cafe, and you and Satoru began walking out onto the street. Despite wearing enough layers to keep warm, the cold still seeped through. "Cold," you muttered, not expecting him to hear.
"Here," he said, extending his hand towards you. You stared at him, puzzled. "What? Hold my hand so you can stay warm," he suggested.
"I don't think holding hands will be enough to warm me up," you replied skeptically.
"I can give you something more to warm you up," Satoru smirked, hinting at something suggestive. You rolled your eyes and were about to take his hand when suddenly you felt someone grope your butt. You flinched, and Satoru noticed, his protective instincts kicking in.
The guy who touched you continued walking as if nothing happened, but Satoru immediately pulled you behind him and called out to the guy, "Hey!" trying to catch his attention.
The guy turned around with an annoyed look. "What's your problem?" Satoru confronted him, his voice laced with anger.
The guy only chuckled. "What? It felt good," he said, his tone mocking.
Satoru's fist clenched at the guy's bold response, and without hesitation, he swung a punch, aiming for the guy's jaw. The blow landed with a solid thud, eliciting a grunt of pain from the guy.
"Stop it!" you shouted, rushing forward to try to intervene. But the guy, now furious, shoved you aside, causing you to stumble.
Satoru, fueled by rage, launched himself at the guy, grappling with him in a fierce struggle. Punches were exchanged, and the sound of grunts and impacts filled the air.
"Enough!" you cried out, attempting to pull Satoru away from the altercation. But he seemed lost in the heat of the moment, his focus solely on the guy who had dared to touch you.
Just when it seemed like the fight would escalate further, Satoru suddenly withdrew, his hand reaching for something at his waist. With lightning speed, he pulled out a gun, aiming it directly at the guy's face.
"Back off," Satoru growled, his voice cold and menacing. The guy's eyes widened in fear as he stumbled back, raising his hands in surrender.
The tension in the air was palpable as Satoru held the gun steady, his gaze unwavering. Finally, the guy turned and fled, disappearing into the night.
With a heavy breath, Satoru lowered the gun, the intensity of the moment slowly fading. You stood beside him, shaken by the sudden turn of events, but grateful for Satoru's protection.
You were about to hold his hand when Satoru turned around to you, quickly checking to see if you got hurt. "Are you okay?" he asked, concern evident in his eyes. It felt like déjà vu.
"Me? Shouldn't it be you? Look, your knuckles are bleeding," you pointed out.
"Oh, this? It's nothing," he brushed it off as if he were accustomed to such situations.
You shook your head, taking his hand in yours. "Let's go to my house. I'll treat your wounds," you insisted.
Before he could reply, you already began pulling him towards your house. The cafe wasn't far from your place, and you were determined to take care of him.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, seeing your pajamas—an oversized shirt and cotton shorts.
You sighed, realizing you had forgotten to wash your clothes, leaving you with no other option but to stick with this look.
Turning away from the mirror, you grabbed the first aid kit and headed to the living room.
As you stumbled into the living room, you froze at the sight of Satoru sitting on the couch, shirtless, engrossed in his phone.
"What the hell?" you blurted out, successfully catching his attention.
He glanced at you before tossing his phone aside and humming in response.
"Why are you shirtless?" you questioned, making your way toward him.
Satoru eyed you with a smirk before dramatically resting both elbows on the sofa's back.
"It's so hot, especially with you in front of me, princess," he teased.
You rolled your eyes, ignoring his comment as you sat beside him and began to open the first aid kit.
"Give me your hand," you instructed, holding out your own hand. Satoru complied, extending his hand towards you.
As you started treating his wound, you noticed how surprisingly quiet he was.
It was odd to see him so subdued, considering the circumstances.
You guessed he was probably used to getting into fights and sustaining wounds—a stark reminder of his dangerous lifestyle.
You didn't notice how intensely Satoru was staring at you while you attended to his wound.
It had been years since he had been this close to you.
He thought he had done everything right back then, but he never expected you to leave and erase all traces of your past together.
As you finished bandaging his hand and stood up to put the first aid kit away, Satoru swiftly grabbed onto your wrist, pulling you close.
Before you knew it, you were sitting on his lap, your legs encircling him.
You were taken aback by the sudden turn of events, about to speak, but what Satoru said next caught you off guard.
"Happy birthday," he said softly, a gentle smile spreading across his face, melting your heart.
You felt tears welling up as Satoru was the first person to greet you on your birthday, even as the day was coming to an end.
"How... Do you know it's my birthday?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
"Of course, I know. I'm in love with you. I know everything important to you," he replied, trying to make it sound sweet and romantic.
"That sounds like a stalker," you quipped, ruining the moment with your comment.
Satoru chuckled, but he sighed when you still hadn't returned the "I love you."
But he was willing to wait. He could say it a million times, even if you didn't say it back. He knew you'd return it someday.
You both stared at each other quietly, feeling the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air, reminiscent of times past.
"May I?" Satoru suddenly spoke, breaking the silence, and you snapped out of your thoughts, humming in reply.
"Kiss you?" he asked, his hand moving to your chin as his thumb gently caressed the bottom of your lips. It had been such a long time.
Instead of answering, you pulled him into a kiss, silently permitting him. Satoru didn't hesitate to respond, kissing you back with passion.
In that moment, everything felt right, and you wished it could stay that way forever.
**
"I thought you'd head back to Tokyo?" Megumi asked, annoyance evident in his tone, as he noticed Satoru at the coffee section preparing some coffee.
"Did I?" Satoru replied obliviously, seemingly unaffected by Megumi's irritation.
You could see the frustration in Megumi's eyes, ready to throw daggers at his guardian.
"We're fine here now, go back," Megumi instructed through clenched teeth, trying to maintain his composure.
"I don't want to," Satoru retorted, and you sighed, knowing this would escalate.
"Sorry, Megumi, I can't let him go," you apologized, trying to diffuse the tension.
"See, she needs me," Satoru declared proudly, his ego shining through.
"Yeah, since he attracts most of our new customers, so we really need him to sell some coffee," you explained, trying to be diplomatic.
"I thought you needed me because I'm good at it!" Satoru argued, his pride wounded.
"Yeah, you're good at attracting customers, that's all," you clarified, causing Satoru to sulk in the corner for at least a few minutes, his ego deflated.
You chuckled at his sulking behavior before heading over to him, offering to help him make the drinks.
As you worked side by side, showing him the ropes, you couldn't help but smile like an idiot whenever he made a mistake.
At that moment, you forgot about his status as one of the most dangerous men in the world. All you could see was him having fun, and it warmed your heart to see him enjoying himself.
It’s not even that long since you two talked again that your heart began to beat again just like it did 4 years ago.
**
A few days had passed since Satoru began helping out at the cafe, and you couldn't help but notice the significant changes.
More and more people were frequenting the cafe, eager to catch a glimpse of the infamous handsome "white-haired" guy.
You first noticed it when you took charge of the cashier while Megumi was on his break. Customers were stealing glances at Satoru, who was busy grinding coffee beans. Some even approached him to take pictures.
You had expected a few more customers after Satoru started helping out, but you never anticipated the inpouring people that now filled the cafe to the brim. Lines began forming outside as the cafe reached its capacity.
Even people from outside the countryside were making special trips just to see him.
It was clear that Satoru's presence had brought a newfound popularity to the cafe, and you couldn't help but feel both amazed and overwhelmed by the sudden attention.
You were deeply engrossed in calculating all the bills and expenses involved in managing the cafe when Megumi approached you.
"Hey, [Reader's Name]," he called out, and you responded with a distracted hum, still focused on your task.
"Look at this," Megumi said, showing you his phone.
You glanced at the screen to see a photo of Satoru serving a customer their order. It must have been taken on the day he first started helping out.
You squinted at the picture, trying to make out the details, but your attention was quickly drawn to the comments section below the photo.
People were raving about Satoru's appearance and charisma, expressing their excitement at having him at the cafe.
As you scrolled through the comments, you realized that this photo had garnered a lot of attention, with many users tagging their friends and making plans to visit the cafe themselves just to see Satoru in person.
‘OMG, who's the new guy at the cafe? 😍 He's so dreamy, I need to visit ASAP!’
‘Wow, the cafe just got a major upgrade! Can't wait to grab a coffee and maybe a date with the new cutie behind the counter! ☕️❤️’
‘I don't get what all the fuss is about. He's just another server, nothing special.’
‘Finally, some eye candy at the cafe! 😍 Who needs coffee when you have a sight like this to wake you up?’
‘Honestly, I'm not impressed. Looks like the cafe is trying too hard to attract customers with looks instead of focusing on quality drinks and service.’
It was clear that his presence had sparked a wave of interest and excitement, contributing to the cafe's newfound popularity.
As you scrolled through the comments, your eyes furrowed in annoyance at some of the hate comments directed towards the cafe and even your coffee.
"These people insulting my coffee," you muttered, your frustration evident.
Megumi stood beside you, watching you with concern, unsure of what you might do next.
Just as you were about to reply to one of the hate comments, Satoru suddenly snatched the phone from your hand.
"Damn, I looked good in this shot," he remarked casually as he looked at the photo, seemingly unfazed by the negative comments.
Satoru noticed the glare you directed at him.
"What? Am I that handsome?" he said, brushing his hair back with a smug grin.
"I don't care about your face, I care more about when people insult my coffee," you replied, frustration evident in your voice.
"Do they?" Satoru asked, seeming curious as he checked the comments.
You let out a sigh and returned to your calculations.
"Can I have my phone back?" Megumi interjected, feeling wary as Satoru held onto his phone.
Satoru glanced between you and the phone before suddenly shoving it into Megumi's chest. Luckily, Megumi managed to catch it.
"Hey!" he protested, but Satoru shushed him away, gesturing for him to go attend to his tasks.
Rolling his eyes, Megumi walked off to the storage room to check the products, leaving you and Satoru to deal with the situation.
As you were busy calculating, Satoru smirked and leaned in close to your ear, whispering, "But you make the best milk though." His sudden voice made you shiver, and you flinched away, squealing and covering your ear, cheeks flushing red.
Fortunately, it was closing time, and there were no customers around, just the two of you at the counter while Megumi was in the storage room.
Satoru gazed at you with an innocent smile that only seemed to annoy you further.
"You stupid!" you exclaimed, standing up abruptly and grabbing the papers you were calculating, along with the calculator.
You shoved them all towards Satoru before storming off to the storage room, leaving him there.
However, Satoru didn't quite interpret what you wanted him to do.
Instead of realizing you wanted him to help with the calculations, he took it as you handing him something to pay.
The next day, you were left confused when you received notifications that all your bills were paid, while Satoru stood in the corner, smiling innocently as he prepared drinks for the customers.
**
A couple of days later, after finishing some errands, you hurried back to the cafe to resume your duties. It was still 4 in the afternoon, and the chilly air urged you to quicken your pace.
Upon opening the door to the cafe, you were taken aback to see Megumi wearing an unpleasant expression as he conversed with a woman standing in front of him.
It was a sight you hadn't witnessed before, and it left you feeling puzzled.
Quickly approaching them, you intervened in their conversation. "Excuse me, is there a problem here?" you asked, addressing both of them and drawing their attention to you.
Megumi swiftly pulled you closer to him, his usually calm demeanor replaced by a defensive stance that you rarely witnessed.
"I'm asking you to leave right now, Ma'am," he asserted, his tone laced with a hint of anger as he glared at the woman before him.
The woman scoffed. "Oh, come on 'Gumi, you can't treat me like that when I spent a few years babysitting you and your sister," she retorted, her words dripping with disdain.
You found yourself caught in the middle of their exchange, confused by the tension and the sudden revelation of Megumi's past relationship with the woman.
"Megumi, what's happening?" you asked, still held close to him as he engaged in this heated exchange with the woman.
"Just don't move, wait for Gojo-san to come here," he instructed firmly, intending it for you, but the woman overheard.
"I need to talk to Satoru, why won't you just let me?!" the woman snapped, her frustration evident in her tone.
"You know full well why Gojo-san doesn't want to talk to you," Megumi stated firmly, his glare piercing.
Just then, Satoru appeared, grabbing the woman's arm as she attempted to retrieve something from her bag.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" he snapped, his voice laced with anger, and it was unsettling to witness him in such a furious state.
"I'm here trying to seek some answers as to why you won't accept the marriage?!" she shouted, her voice rising and drawing the attention of other customers.
Marriage?
Your mouth dropped open in shock at her revelation.
Satoru let out a frustrated tsk before speaking. "Will you stop, Ayaka? That was six years ago," he told her, his tone firm.
Your eyes widened as he mentioned her name. So, this was the Ayaka that everyone at the ball had been talking about.
As Megumi turned to you, attempting to guide you to the storage room, Satoru's eyes kept darting between the two of you.
Ayaka noticed this and became agitated. Without warning, she swiftly grabbed the gun from her bag and pointed it at you, her expression twisted with rage as she prepared to pull the trigger. But Satoru reacted swiftly.
“No!” He shouted as he seized her wrist and redirected the gun toward the ceiling just in time.
The deafening sound of the gunshot echoed through the cafe, causing you to shout in shock as you instinctively hid in Megumi's chest, while he did his best to calm you down.
As chaos erupted in the cafe, customers scrambled in panic, shouting and rushing to escape. Some knocked over chairs and tables in their haste to flee, leaving only the four of you behind.
Satoru grappled with Ayaka, struggling to wrestle the gun from her grip, determined to prevent her from pulling another trigger that could harm you or Megumi.
The tension in the air was palpable as the struggle unfolded, and you and Megumi stood frozen, watching with wide eyes, unsure of how to intervene in the dangerous confrontation.
Satoru succeeded in disarming Ayaka and swiftly restrained her, holding both of her wrists behind her back as she dropped to the floor with a groan of pain.
He knelt beside her, his voice laced with frustration and anger as he addressed her.
"You know what? I'm so fed up with you. The only reason I haven't hurt you is because of your family's reputation, which you've protected so fiercely. Not only did you try to hurt Tsumiki back then, but you also tried to hurt [reader's name]," he told her sternly, his tone cutting through the tension in the room.
Satoru makes Ayaka stand up to her feet, exchanging a brief, apologetic glance with Megumi and then with you.
It was as if he could sense the turmoil of thoughts running through your mind.
"Take care of her, Megumi. I'll deal with this situation," Satoru instructed, his voice firm as he indicated Ayaka.
With that, he led Ayaka out of the cafe, leaving you and Megumi to catch your breath in the aftermath of the tense encounter.
"I didn't really expect her to find this place," Megumi muttered, but his words barely registered with you as your mind raced with questions demanding answers.
"Uhm, [reader's name], should we—" Megumi began, but his words trailed off as he surveyed the chaos left by the fleeing customers, then turned to see you collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily.
Concern etched his features as he knelt beside you, attempting to calm you down, but at that moment, you felt as though you were in a world of your own, where only thoughts of Satoru occupied your mind.
**
Satoru didn't return to the cafe after you and Megumi had helped each other clean up the mess. You closed the cafe early due to the broken ceiling, sighing as you arranged for someone to come and fix it the next day.
With the cafe closed for repairs, you had no choice but to cancel business for the day.
After Megumi left an hour ago, you locked the doors of the cafe and were about to head home when you noticed Satoru standing, his back against the wall.
"Hey," he greeted as he approached you.
You scoffed before turning on your heels and walking away. Satoru, confused, hurried his pace to grab your wrist.
"What's wrong?" he asked, his concern evident in his voice. "It's nothing. Can you let go of my wrist?" you replied, avoiding eye contact.
"Don't tell me we're going back to being strangers again," he said, frustration creeping into his tone. Annoyed, you faced him. "What do you want me to do?" you asked.
"I want you to stop acting like a brat," he told you bluntly. You laughed sarcastically. "Me being a brat? My cafe was in chaos, Satoru, especially the ceiling because of that damn Ayaka," you told him.
"If that's all it is, I can pay for it," he said casually, as if money could solve everything. You groaned, hating the fact that he thought money was the answer to every problem.
"Fuck off! You're just going to add to the money I owe you," you frustratedly said, pulling your hands back.
You hurriedly left, not looking back as Satoru stood there alone, watching you disappear from his sight.
He let out a deep sigh, running a hand through his hair.
The cold night air bit at him, but it was nothing compared to the chill he felt from your words.
He knew he needed to find a way to bridge the gap between you, but right now, he felt lost.
**
As you were busy trying to calm yourself after all that chaos happened back in your cafe, you started feeling drowsy after watching a reality show for about 20 minutes.
Suddenly, you heard your doorbell, which confused you since you hadn’t heard it when you installed a gate last year.
You didn’t think much as you got out of the couch and headed to the door to open it.
As you opened the door, you were immediately surprised when someone pushed you inside, pinning you against the wall and successfully closing the door. You looked at the person to see it was Satoru.
"Satoru—" you tried to speak, but he cut you off.
"I hate it," he said. "I hate it when you ignore me and go back to acting as if we're strangers," he added, staring deeply into your eyes.
Satoru slowly leaned towards you, his intense gaze never wavering. "Do you really hate me that much?" he asked slowly, a hint of pain in his tone.
You didn't expect him to act like that, especially considering how prideful he usually is.
"It's not like that—" you tried to explain, but he interrupted you again.
"What do you want me to do to stop you from leaving?" he asked, his voice almost pleading.
You suddenly remembered the chaos earlier, wondering why Megumi hated Ayaka.
Satoru had only briefly mentioned it, but he didn't get the chance to explain further because of the sudden customers.
When Satoru noticed you not responding, he leaned in close, his hands on your waist, and softly kissed your collarbone.
"Tell me everything," you urged him.
"Like how did you find me here..." You paused as his hand moved up your thigh, dangerously close to your core, making you shut your thighs tight.
"And the story about why Megumi hates Ayaka," you managed to ask.
Satoru hummed as he patted your thigh, signaling you to lift it so he could carry you to the couch.
You quickly complied, wrapping your legs around his waist.
He gently laid you down and began placing soft kisses on your neck, his hand rubbing the outer lips of your clothed pussy.
You moaned softly, arching your back to give him better access to your collarbone.
"I always tried finding you when you disappeared," he began.
"I even threatened your boss to tell me your whereabouts or else I'd shut his place down," he added as you hummed, urging him to continue.
"But then, someone dropped your whereabouts."
"What?" you asked in a breathy tone, caught off guard.
"Fumiko, was it? Such a good friend for keeping your secret—until she wasn’t," he said, making your eyes widen.
"I guess she was tempted when I told everyone in that club to tell me where you were and I'd give them money. Seems like she was really desperate for it," Satoru continued.
His hand slowly removed your shorts, leaving you in your dark red panties, and you felt a flush of embarrassment.
Satoru chuckled when his eyes landed on the wet patch on your panties.
"It's been a while since I played with you," he said, talking to your pussy as if it were a person.
"Tell me more," you whined at him.
"I got Megumi to stay here and watch you," Satoru replied, his voice low and filled with intent.
"He'd give me updates on what you do." As he spoke, he began rubbing his two fingers against your pussy, moving them up and down to give attention to your clit and little hole.
You moaned softly, feeling the pleasure build.
"When I heard from Megumi that you were opening a shop, I insisted he join," Satoru added, his fingers still moving inside you.
That's why it was so weird to have Megumi that day, handing you a resume while dodging your suspicious look. It all made sense now.
You moaned louder, feeling a mix of frustration and pleasure. "So that's why," you managed to say, your voice breathy.
"You always had someone watching me."
Satoru leaned in, his breath hot against your ear. "I couldn't bear to lose you again," he whispered, his fingers curling inside you just right, sending waves of pleasure through your body.
Just as you were getting close, Satoru pulled away, leaving you whining from the emptiness.
"Shh, I just want you to cum on my dick, not my fingers," he whispered.
He hastily opened his zipper and pulled out his erect cock, its tip covered in pre-cum. You drooled at the sight, making Satoru chuckle.
"You missed this, didn't you?" he asked, to which you hummed in reply. "Put it in," you quickly told him, eager for him to fill you up once again.
Since you were already wet enough for him, Satoru gently inserted his cock, careful not to hurt you, and held both of your knees as he began to give you deep thrusts, making you feel as if you see the stars.
"Oh my— Satoru!" you moaned loudly at the euphoric sensation. "So— fucking tight," he groaned, increasing the intensity of his thrusts.
"Ngh— 'Toru," you began speaking, trying to catch his attention.
Suddenly, Satoru grabbed your wrist and pulled you, making you sit on top of him as he sat on the couch. You moaned lightly at the feeling of his cock.
"Give me a ride, angel, while I tell you more," Satoru said, putting his hand on your waist and helping you move. You moaned lightly in response.
"Ayaka and I were supposed to get married. We were fine until I came back to the apartment with Megumi and Tsumiki," Satoru spoke.
Even though you had your eyes closed, you nodded at what he was saying while riding his cock.
"I didn't know it would be the start of how Ayaka showed her true colors. She doesn't like Megumi and Tsumiki one bit.
I hated how I ignored them when they constantly told me how Ayaka acted differently toward them," he said.
"Like what?" you asked, stuttering from all the pleasure you were receiving.
"Like getting mad at them over small things. What I hated the most was when I left them alone with Ayaka. I didn't know that would be the day Ayaka would try to stab Tsumiki with a kitchen knife," Satoru told you.
You felt a sense of empathy for him. It must have been hard knowing the person you were supposed to marry was like that.
"But on the bright side, if that didn't happen, I would not have met you," he said with a smug expression as he began to control your pace in riding him.
You tried not to cum yet, pushing his hands away from your waist.
"I-I don't want to cum yet," you told him, moaning loudly as you clenched around him, trying to suppress your impending orgasm.
A deep groan left Satoru's mouth as he felt you clenching around him, making his cock twitch inside you.
"C'mon, princess, cum," he urged you, throwing a bunch of pet names your way. But you shook your head, unable to form a coherent reply amidst your moans.
Sensing your desire for him to take control, he gently stopped, allowing you to lay back as he got on top of you.
"Just stay still, princess," he said, his breath heavy as he began thrusting faster. You moaned louder, wrapping your hand around his back, scratching lightly in your ecstasy.
Satoru didn't complain about the scratches; instead, he whispered sweet reassurances in your ear, encouraging you to let go.
It was as if the only thing that mattered to him was that you reached your peak. Just before you climaxed, he whispered those three words you'd been waiting to hear:
"I love you." And with that, you came around him, clenching so hard that Satoru moved to your neck, lightly biting enough to leave a bruise.
Satoru paused, his breath still heavy as he lifted himself to look at you.
Tears still lingered in your eyes from the intense orgasm.
He tenderly wiped them away, his expression softening. But before he could speak, you surprised him by saying those three words back to him.
"I love you too."

(Y/N)
I've spent the entire day fixing Anakin's metal arm, along with a Droid and another engineer. I still had about two hours to finish my shift when he entered the tech room.
His son was following behind him, an amused look on his face, watching every technology being taken care of.
The way his blue eyes stared at me made me feel a little concerned, considering I still wasn't able to finish it. Anakin still had a frown on his face, walking slowly as he took a look around the room.
The engineer spoke up before I even did, he had told me he wasn't exactly intimidated by the Jedi. "Good evening, Master. We haven't finished yet".
He nodded, taking a sharp inhale. "I gave you one day. I expect it by the end of the night".
While he was shooting us a death glare, Luke was all about looking at the job we were making. The little boy was completely fascinated. His hands were gripping the edge of the table and his eyes were sparkling in awe.
"Luke" I spoke, he looked up at me. "You wanna see something cool?"
Anakin didn't seem to like the way I was interacting with his son, but didn't manage to say a word.
Luke nodded and I looked at the engineer before we hooked up the robotic arm into a few wires. It immediately started to move its fingers.
We all watched as the kid opened his mouth. "Woah, this is really cool! Dad, look!"
My lips curled into a smile and I chuckled. Most of the time I wasn't a fan of children, but he was the most adorable. And he was the spitting image of his father. Especially the blue eyes and the curls.
Anakin looked between the kid and his metal limb, and I couldn't help but notice how he dropped his hard expression and smiled as well. "I see, buddy. They're doing a nice job, aren't they?".
Nice job? I haven't done anything else the entire day besides fixing this thing, but he thinks it's just a nice job? I suck it up and give him a forced grin.
When he looks at me again, I can see the wrinkles on his forehead again and the death stare slowly showing up.
"I want it by the end of the day" He said, looking at the three of us. We all nodded, watching as he took Luke's hand before turning on his back. "Come on, let's have some dinner, kiddo".
As soon as he walked by the door, Anakin was met with Cal Kestis. They greeted each other and as soon as he left with his son, the Jedi made the funniest face.
I had to hold in a laugh that I wanted to bark out. He approached the table and cleared his throat.
"I need a favor, (Y/N). My ship had a malfunction and I'm going to need it fixed for the next mission" Cal had an apologetic look on his face and gave me a shy smile.
"I'm sorry, red head. I can't help you with this" I sighed. Just the thought of having to finish this work for Anakin makes me feel completely drained. "I still have no idea how long this work is going to take".
He definitely knew how Master Skywalker was, so he spared me from another hard work.
*
Anakin was so frustrated that he thought he was going to fail this mission. As soon as he stepped foot on Kalevala, the Jedi knew everything wasn't going according to the plan.
He had to come along with Cal and other Jedi Masters. Leading the assignment, Anakin barely came up with good instructions, all because he couldn't have his metal limb in time.
To say he was pissed was an understatement. Because to him, (Y/N) was nothing but a useless tech engineer. He didn't understand how difficult it was to fix the limb, especially since it almost got blasted.
To be honest, the man didn't want to understand that. Anakin needed his robotic arm like he needed air to breathe. He couldn't go out there with a missing fake limb.
He was closing in the position against his opponents with just his lightsaber. And the hopes he would beat them all up. Anakin watched as Cal and the other Masters furiously defeated the men, destroying their territory.
In a moment of distraction, he got his tunic sliced and a burning sensation on his chest. He groaned in pain and gathered every inch of malice he had to shove his lightsaber into the men's stomach.
Bad timing it was. Not having another arm sure made Anakin defenseless. He didn't see another incoming behind his back, only then realizing that he was being retained.
Master Kestis called his name out loud when he saw, from afar, that Anakin had been stabbed with a knife on his side. He bent over, growling as he used his force to choke the man.
The red head rushed to help Anakin, the blood staining his clothing and running down his hand. "Oh, shit. Let's go back".
Cal ripped a piece off of his own tunic to try to stop the bleeding. He carried Anakin to the small bunk on the back of the spaceship and laid him carefully.
"You're going to be fine, Master!" He made sure before going back to the cockpit. He grabbed his comlink to warn the medical bay they were going to need assistance as soon as they arrived at Coruscant.
-
It didn't take Cal long to land on the hangar. He rushed out with Anakin in his arms, asking for a medical stretcher. (Y/N) was helping out other engineers when she saw her friend carrying the Jedi.
"What happened?" She asked, nervous to see Luke's father like that. Following Master Kestis, she jogged by his side on the way to the medical bay.
The poor guy was panting, catching his breath every five seconds. He made a mental note that he needed to do more cardio after that. "He got stabbed!".
(Y/N) stopped on her tracks and thought of Luke. The kid is going to be devastated. Although, she had no idea if Anakin wanted his son to know he was attacked.
The doctors brought him to the emergency room, leaving him shirtless. The wound seemed to be pretty deep and he was losing a considerate amount of blood.
They sedated him and started working on the stitches. They also bandaged his burned chest. Cal was pacing back and forth, both hands on his hips. (Y/N) stood behind him, wondering if it was a good idea to let Luke and C-3PO know he was there.
"I- I didn't see it coming. He was talking about how he didn't want to fail the mission. He kept complaining about his missing arm-" Cal was still in a daze. He had to drink a glass of water because he felt his throat drying.
"Kestis, hey" (Y/N) placed her hands on his arms, trying to calm his nerves. "It wasn't your fault. It wasn't his fault either".
She bit her lip. No, this was her fault. She couldn't finish her damn job when he asked. He was definitely going to rip her heart out. "Jesus, I should've fixed it faster".
Now it was her throat that felt like drying up. A pang of guilt washed over her body and now she was starting to panic. "Luke has to know his dad is here".
"Stop, no. This wasn't your fault, either. You can't push yourself to do hard work. You had to rest too" He tried to reason with her, but she shook her head in disbelief.
"Look at him, Cal!" She raised her voice in desperation. "Look at him. Anakin, he- He needs to be good. He needs to be there for his kid!".
(Y/N) could barely see right through teary eyes. She felt her throat burning and she wanted to scream. She couldn't lose someone again either.
She just couldn't accept that someone might die because of her, again.
Her friend tried to comfort her in a hug. He ran his fingers through her hair, while his other hand was planted on her back. "He's going to be just fine. And we'll get his son, okay?".
Cal used his thumb to wipe away her tears and kissed her forehead. He always knew he had a soft spot for her.

hi! seeing you during all this ep95 mess has been a breath of fresh air. you seem to have a really firm grasp of canon so I wanted to ask what you think of the recent discord message from Liam where he says Orym didn't know that Laudna was under Delilah's influence when she killed Bor'dor? I watched the clip from 4SD, & it's pretty clear that Liam says Orym understood Laudna was opening the door for Delilah when he encouraged her to kill Bor'dor & even says "we'll need that." But the Discord message seems to walk that back. It's been super frustrating being accused of vilifying Orym or infantilizing Laudna for repeating what Liam himself said. I just don't really know how to reconcile these two statements from Liam & it has me a bit confused on Orym's character.
hi anon, thank you!
this turned into a much longer one than i was expecting dfksjdkfs
so last week i posted this Really Long Ask about the whole discussion, if you want to take a look. but i intentionally didn't bring up liam's discord message because you're right! it seemed contradictory to something that was stated in the past, which was confusing
honestly i think the most realistic answer is that liam probably didn't mean for what he said on 4SD to be understood as such a strong and maybe even polarizing character choice. i think a lot of us heard it as "orym sees delilah as a useful/necessary asset that outweighs what might happen to laudna afterward." particularly because he framed it as something that made the whole situation "even creepier," and during that same convo, marisha was emphasizing the psychological impact that killing bor'dor had on laudna. it's a strong stance and it reflects what orym is doing to himself (handing his endgame over to the questionably fickle nana morri to increase their chances of success against ludinus)
but i suppose liam's clarification suggests that he meant it in a softer, more practically level-headed way, like "orym knew he couldn't do a whole lot about delilah's return but he also thought it could have benefits," or something along those lines. they're obviously two hugely different interpretations with pretty big implications on how we understand orym's relationship with laudna
i'm not a connoisseur of orym's character by ANY means so i can't confidently tell you what the change might mean from a narrative perspective, but i personally still prefer the former stronger stance. because i think it raises interesting questions about how orym views his own place in this war and whether or not it's valid for him to (intentionally or subconsciously) project that placement onto the other party members. is it okay for orym to expect the same level of personal sacrifice from laudna, or imogen with predathos (a whole separate can of worms), or anyone else? is it safe? etc etc. but maybe liam doesn't want to go in that direction, or maybe he does but just not in the way we expect, i don't know! only time will tell!
also regardless of what he meant, i think it's important to acknowledge that it's really easy and completely understandable to feel like he was walking something back. that episode of 4SD was almost a whole year ago! many of us built that statement into our perception and understanding of orym's character for a long time, so it's totally valid to go "wait what the fuck???" when liam suddenly pops into the discord to say that's not what he meant. those feelings are valid and real! especially when discourse can already make you question your own intelligence and your personal interpretations of a story, having that pillar, as big or small as it might've been in your mind, knocked over can be really jarring. you are very much not alone in that, and it's okay!!

New scenario in the car: I don't know if you youngster's remember a tv show Recess, but there's one episode where everyone is curious about kissing and stuff and decide to do an experiment and TJ and Spinelli draw the short straws to kiss and report back. When they do kiss, there's this scene of like, fireworks and rainbows going off in their heads (This one)
Tumblr media
And just picturing Ace and Yuu playing Spin the Bottle or Truth or Dare (or whatever the kids are playing these days) and having to kiss, mentally it's like this but Seven forbid they let anyone know they enjoyed it, especially Ace/Yuu, so they make a big performance of gagging and going "ew gross" once the kiss is over. Smash vut the them alone in bed flustered screaming into a very tired Grimm/Staring at their ceiling paralysed with committing the feel Yuu's lips to memory.
Or something, hope you're keeping well x
The only thing I really know about this show is that my mom didn't allow me to watch it. I'm oldish myself just. Homeschooled :/
Truth or dare makes the most sense to me. And for some reason I see Epel as being the one who would put up the dare.
"C'mon." He's smirking because he can't really help it, he does find this situation hilarious. "What are ya, chicken?"
And sure, you and Ace try to act like it's a gross idea and make your standard embarrassed protests but Jack is the only one really siding with you because he's a stick in the mud but of course Ace has to call him that out loud. So you know what never mind, Ace have fun kissing the prefect he's doubling Epel's dare and now Epel is clucking a surprisingly accurate chicken call with Deuce as Sebek turns this around on you because. idk you made a joke about "kissing the homies goodnight" to Malleus once and he asked if that meant he should give Sebek a kiss on the forehead and he's never forgave or forgotten.
Anyway Ace tries to play off the nerves because don't worry he's had a girlfriend before. He knows how to kiss somebody alright? Doesn't matter if you've dated before or not, whatever you have to say on the subject is going to fluster him because well. However you feel about this he's wanted to kiss you for a while, and unlike anything he shared with his girlfriend kissing you... he doesn't know how you feel but he can fool himself into thinking there's love in it. It's hard for him to lie when he's pressed so close to the truth. So you both pull away and make big fools of yourselves, but the act is bought because your friends are admittedly sort of dumb.
All of your friends except Grim who has to see you stare at a wall between treating him like a plush toy and screaming about how you are so fucking stupid for not putting an end to that dare while you still could because you wanted your first kiss with Ace to be REAL-
(he doesn't sleep at all that night or really talk to Deuce the next morning. he's got a stupid text message three words long he's typed out and deleted so many times but he really wishes he had the guts to hit send this time because- he wants a do over. he didn't get to kiss you right the first time.)

"Ashes, Ashes" and Eddie Diaz's Grief
This entire post is just about Eddie, literally him and him alone lol
Good lord what a stressful fucking episode.
Just to start off, after Buck meets KIM WHEN SHE JUST SWAGS ON IN TO THE FIREHOUSE WITH HER BROWNIES, the way Eddie opens the back door like he's not sure who would be there, only for him to scoff when Buck asks if he can come in...it's giving "this is Eddie's house, I'm not really a guest."
"Eddie...who's Kim?"
And Eddie immediately turning away from him and picking up dishes to put in the sink...yeah my man how's that denial taste?
"Marisol's my girlfriend. Kim's just...a friend."
"Just a friend who's a...dead ringer for your late wife?"
I don't think there's anyone else in the world who could talk like this to Eddie. I genuinely think he would turn tail and run if it was anyone else.
I noticed when Eddie says that "nothing's going on" he has an eerily similar expression on his face when Ana showed up to the firehouse. And Buck clocked him then, too.
"It's not even what I want from her."
"Okay. So what do you want?"
"I...don't know."
And that's it. That's Eddie's narrative arc. He doesn't want Shannon. He thinks he does, he's so lost in this fantasy of having her back, of doing things "right this time" that he's convinced himself that, if he could just have her alive again, everything would be perfect. He doesn't want Marisol, we know that, but he doesn't want Kim either. And if I'm honest, he wouldn't want Shannon if he had her back.
What does Eddie want? What does he really want? It's a question none of us can answer. In fact, I don't even think Eddie can answer it right now.
"Does this poor woman know that she is a carbon copy of your dead wife?"
Absolutely brutal line. Wake his ass up, Buck!!!!
"I'm worried about you."
"Yeah. I'm worried about me too."
I AM ALSO VERY WORRIED ABOUT YOU EDDIE!!!
Insane that after one (1) conversation with Buck, Eddie decides to come clean to Kim. The power that he holds.
"Have you been spending time with me? Or with her?"
What a fucking gut punch of a line.
"I didn't realize how much I...missed her. Then I saw you."
This is the thing!!! It's almost like he feels like seeing Kim somehow gives him a second chance with Shannon. If he could just have Shannon back, if he could just do it all over again, he would do it right. They would finally have that happy, perfect relationship that he remembers, he would finally be the best husband that he could be, Chris would finally be happy.
He doesn't seem to get that Chris is already happy. OF COURSE he misses his mom, he always will, and Eddie will always miss Shannon, but dragging in this person that just happens to look like her to cling to this semblance of a perfect marriage that never even existed in the first place? Yikes, my guy.
"I guess she was the love of your life."
"I think she was. Yeah. Though I'm not sure I knew at the time."
Because what he remembers isn't real!!! He's whitewashed this relationship to the point that it's not recognizable. She's the love of his life...that he ran away from before she even gave birth to enlist in the army. The love of his life that he reenlisted to stay away from. The love of his life that he fought with constantly. The love of his life that left him a few months after he was discharged. The love of his life that asked him for a divorce days before she died.
I'm not saying relationships are all sunshine and rainbows, but we saw next to none of that with Shannon and Eddie. The sex was good, they both loved Chris, they cared for each other deeply...but love of his life?
I don't even know that he would be able to identify what that even means for him.
I think his grief has taken so much from him, he can vocalize how much time they spent apart in their marriage, how so much of it didn't work, but it's like it doesn't get all the way through to him. Kim is right when she says they have unfinished business, because that's what happens when you lose someone unexpectedly like that. It's clear Eddie has never gotten over it, maybe never even tried to process it, but seeing Kim brought it all back to the surface, similar to how realizing that all of the people in his unit were dead brought up his untreated PTSD.
He so carefully bottles everything up until it explodes, and this is no different, we're just seeing the explosion and the fallout of something he has tried to tamp down for five years.
Look y'all, I felt as bad for Kim as anybody could, she did not deserve to be used as a pawn in Eddie's strange journey with grief, but for her to show up with those fuck ass bangs and basically cosplay as Shannon to try and get Eddie to open but about his grief???? WHAT ARE WE DOING????
I think ultimately, this comes down to the fact that Kim is trying, in a very weird, very misguided way, to do a good thing. Eddie said he never got closure, and was trying to use her for that closure, so she thought that, if she just dressed up like Shannon, she could help him move on from her.
But for her, this is an acting job. For Eddie (and for Chris), the loss of Shannon is very, very real.
"Who's Kim?" WAS FUCKING CRAZY. ABSOLUTE FREAK ENERGY.
"I know I wasn't a perfect husband, I did my fair share of running too."
Babe...you ran the whole ENTIRE time...
"I came back because I couldn't imagine a life without...without you."
I'm so fascinated by this delivery, because is he looking at Kim and having a hard time saying that? Or is he looking at SHANNON and having a hard time saying that?
"And you know what? I still can't. But I'm still living it. But it's broken. I'm broken. And I can't fix it. This is the life I have now. This is the life from now on. The life...without you. You were supposed to be here with me, baby. And now you're not. And you never will be."
First of all...Ryan Guzman...actor that you are.
This monologue is so heartbreaking because that grief is still such a raw nerve. He's stuck in that moment in the back of the ambulance. wishing that he had done things differently.
But the thing is...Kim is talking to him as a person that she doesn't know, as a person who never existed.
Eddie asks why he never got a letter, but he doesn't mention that she wanted a divorce. He can mention all the times he left her, or she left him, or even the fights they had, but he can't seem to ever remember, ever think about that. His speech seems doubled sided. It's not just that she left them when she died...it's that she was going to leave him before, WHEN SHE WAS ALIVE. It's that she didn't want to make things work and he never got to ask her why.
And then...the other shoe.
"Mom?"
I think we all knew Chris would find out one way or another, and while I hope that conversation with "Shannon" was healing for Eddie, it is going to set Chris back years. Because he doesn't know that it's not her! For all he knows, his mom is back again, answering that Christmas wish he asked for five years ago all over again.
I'm gonna be honest, I love Eddie so much, more than anything, but I was...pretty fucking pissed the moment they walked through that door and he called Kim "mom." Because it was SELFISH, and Eddie has never been allowed to be selfish, not once in all his life, and I wish I could support this selfishness now, but not at the cost of Chris. AND I KNOW EDDIE FEELS THE SAME WAY! This is going to fuck him up just as much as it fucks Chris up!
I know that Tim has talked about how season 7 is kind of a mirror for season 4. He's trying to get back to that narrative and tell the story he wants to tell again. If we look at that, we know that Eddie is incapacitated (shot) at the end of season 4, and that, after his recovery, he tells Buck that he's in his will, that he will get Chris if something happens to him.
Well. Something is really happening to him now. And they couldn't have Eddie near death again, but what if he becomes incapable of taking care of Chris in another way? We know that Helena and Ramon are in the last episode too...what if someone calls them, and they plan to take Chris back to Texas, only for it to be revealed to them that Buck is the one that gets Chris, not them?
This plotline was so strange in so many ways, but I think it served a very specific purpose for Eddie to begin to move beyond his grief over Shannon. And while we are, in no way, finished with the fallout of it, I hope that this conversation with Kim will help him be able to move forward with his life, instead of sticking himself in relationships he thinks he needs to be in to fill the void in his life that he thinks Shannon left.
And yes, I'm a Buck and Eddie truther until the day I die, but I really just want Eddie to begin to process this raw grief, because this was clearly the first time he had even tried.
It seems like we have A LOT to deal with in the finale, and with everything going on, I'll be interested to see the aftermath of this moment, and how it effects Eddie and Chris' relationship in particular.

That scene with Eddie and Kim dressed as Shannon is that supposed to be the big emotional scene that was being talked about leading up to this episode? If Tim is expecting me to be invested in a scene like that he's sorely mistaken.
I love Ryan and Eddie but there was too much wrong with that scene for it have any kind emotional impact. I honestly just left it being confused and angry.
In the first place the scene initially came off looking like a dream especially since Kim was styled almost exactly how we saw Shannon talking to Chris in 701. I thought okay Eddie is going to say all these things to dream Shannon that he wanted to say (even get angry with her) things he didn't get to say before she died. Except here's the other problem Tim is trying to prop Shannon up and make her into a better person than she was. He's also trying to make it seem like Eddie had all these huge feelings for her that were never shown previously.
I definitely believe that Eddie loved Shannon and of course he had a lot of history with her and she's Chris' mother but I don't believe he was in romantic love with her. Eddie was always running away from Shannon even in s2. The only reason he even asked her to be with him again is because of Chris and because they thought she was pregnant. And really because Eddie has always done what he thinks he's supposed to do not what he truly wants to do especially when it comes to relationships.
I really can't stand when shows try and rewrite history like this. Shannon was important to Eddie but the show keeps trying to make her relationship with Eddie into something it wasn't and it really makes me hate when they bring her up.
Back to the scene with Eddie and Kim like I said I thought it was a dream so I really wanted to see where they were going with it. But as soon as they kept having Eddie talk about how he can't move on from Shannon because of how much he loved her I'm like nope I'm out. Let this man move on. Let him finally admit to himself that his relationship with Shannon wasn't perfect and let him stop comparing every relationship he ever gets into to something that never even existed.
The bigger problem I had with this scene though is that it wasn't even Shannon. If you wanted the audience to have some kind of emotional response to Eddie grieving his dead ex wife maybe don't have some woman he's cheating with dress up as her. It was all so bizzare. I also fail to see what Kim's motivation is for even doing that. She barely knows Eddie and she knows now that he was only even seeing her as some kind of replacement for his dead ex yet she's still interested in him. Then to top it off we had Marisol and Chris walking in on the whole scene. Having Chris see this woman who looks like his dead mom is just really cruel. I love Eddie but I really hope he's going to have to answer for that. I don't want to see the show just brush this off with some kind of talk between them because the level of so not okay that was is off the charts.
I just wish I knew where Tim is going with any of this because it's all so weird. I thought this Kim storyline was going to be about helping Eddie get closure and move forward but now I don't know what they're doing. I really hope that both Marisol and Kim will be gone by next season. This isn't even about Buddie neither one of them would make a good love interest for Eddie at this point.
Also why give Kim a birthmark like Buck if it's not supposed to make us think of Buck? Far as I can tell it's not a birthmark Devin has or her real hair color so what even was the purpose of that?
What is the purpose of bringing Buck into this storyline? I know Buddie are friends and they had most of the characters busy doing other stuff but I do wonder if Buck will play any more of a role in what's going on with Eddie.
I mean I'm glad they had Buck confront Eddie but tbh I wanted to see him get angrier about it. Buck said something to Eddie like have Marisol and Chris met her because Eddie was saying Kim was only a friend. I just feel like Buck would never want Chris to meet this woman. He just talked to Chris in 701 about how much his mom's death is still seriously affecting him. Why would he want Chris to meet this doppelgänger of his mom?
I know it's a shorter season but some of the writing choices this season feel messy and rushed. I honestly don't anticipate this Vertigo storyline having a satisfying conclusion. As it is they should have started it earlier and now it's being crammed into two already over stuffed episodes. I just hope that Eddie is going to get some better storylines next season because I haven't really been a fan of anything they've done with him on his own this season. Like first the nun and now this. What kind of vendetta do you have against Ryan Guzman Tim because these storylines are awful.

I think we all need to be prepared and remember that this was a shorter season (only 10 eps) and they already knew they had the S8 renewal. So I'm expecting several storylines to not be/get resolved by the end of this season, B/T's relationship being one of them.
The writing is on the wall, though, and it's clear they won't last too long into S8 imo. Tommy seemed like a colleague more than a boyfriend during the medal ceremony scenes. Buck never actually confirmed he was going to see Tommy (and if he was, well, that went out the window when Kim walked in. Priority: Eddie) and his conversation with Bobby felt more like he needed to be...convinced? reassured? about him/them. Reacting to Bobby (of all people in Buck's life) saying "he's good for you" with "...how do you know?" instead of something like "yeah, I think so too" or "yeah he's great, I REALLY like him!" would not fill me with "endgame"-type confidence (or any confidence, really.)
I've gotten distracted but my point is: while I'd be pleasantly surprised, we need to not be expecting a B/T breakup next week or even off camera between S7 and S8 (unless they don't want to invite Lou back after hiatus) nor am I expecting Buddie feelings realization just yet. But it's clear that B/T's days are numbered. And Tim is getting a whole 18 episode season WITH earlier confirmation of said season...he's going to have so much time to plot! (and torture us all!)
i agree, the only way i can see a bucktommy breakup next week is if it's because buck leaves a date for chris and tommy says "it's been fun"
interesting take on the bobby scene... i didn't even think of the fact that maybe buck needed someone to confirm he was going for the right person. he's never needed that before now, and considering how he came out i don't think it's cause it's a man
anyways, going into next week with zero expectations in terms of buddie realizations. stay strong soldiers we'll get through this haitus (can't say the same about s8)

CELESTIAL | II. NEWTON'S THIRD LAW OF MOTION
7.1k words - on-going story
chapter one here
Chapter One. Fundamentals of Statistics.
I write a few problems down, a few definitions that seem to be a bit more of a challenge. My handwriting flies across the page as I write in a few calculations that would be helpful for the exam tomorrow. I'm not an expert on statistics, but I can problem-solve easily when it comes to mathematics equations.
Everything I look at makes perfect, logical sense when it comes in the form of equation and number sequence. That was the way I liked it.
And if there was one thing that I was good at, it was creating study sheets. While I didn't necessarily need it, I thought that there may be a time tonight during studying that someone does need it.
The possibility of that felt oddly exciting, but I tried not to think too hard into it.
I had made my way home after my two classes this morning. Grabbing lunch at the dining hall, I decided to bring it back to my apartment—just a salad, really—and watched a few episodes of The Twilight Zone on the sofa while I ate. I particularly liked the episode about the bank clerk that enjoys reading, but never has the time– it keeps my attention even though I know what happens in the end.
Chase had chosen to have his classes in the afternoon, I had classes in the mornings on Thursday's. We missed each other, usually, and then were home in the midafternoon together. On Thursday nights, it kind of depended on his schedule, we would normally order in some food and just kind of hang out together.
Lately, though, Thursday afternoons had started to turn into his night to go out with friends. I knew that he had class in the morning and had seemed to overlook this part of his schedule. He leaned more towards getting drunk with friends nowadays than what we had normally scheduled, especially last year.
But that was okay—it was fine. I was fine to study Thursday nights, and I wanted him to be able to have fun, if that's what he wanted.
My only problem was when Chase brought his friends around the apartment. This was the only part of our relationship that slightly bugged me, but of course, he shared the space. I just didn't enjoy this because his friends were horrid, and I would have just rather that they weren't involved at all.
Of course, I tried not to be too much trouble. I sat back and let Chase do what he needed to do—if that meant having friends over, I wanted him to do that. I wanted him to have the experiences that he wanted, and I knew that he would be courteous to me, as well.
But that didn't keep his friends from being major blow heads.
After I ate, I had finished watching some of my show, and decided to get a start on creating some questions to go over for the statistics course. I figured that at least getting the basics down for the exam would be good—even if it wasn't going to get her the A, I still wanted her to have a clear understanding of what was being asked so she could at least have a solid effort.
I'm sat at the small table in our dining and living space; it's not much, but we're able to use it for studying or having a meal together. I decided to sit outside of my bedroom to start, the light from the living room brightened it up – it was nice, quiet.
Until Chase and his friends have arrived over to our place. I have my headphones in, eyes averting to the three men as they walk in laughing, their voices loud now.
I notice that they have started to unpack a few bags from their trip to the store. There's some food, some drinks—by some, I mean, quite a few. I hadn't asked any questions about the plans for the evening, mostly because I wasn't really interested in whatever they were.
But I did keep looking up occasionally, seeing the cases of beer, the handle of liquor, and bags of crisps that were starting to grace our small kitchen.
Again, no questions asked—that was usually the best policy when it came to things like this. I decided to keep to myself, working on categorical sequences that would be used to study patterns.
Through my headphones, I can hear a bit of banter from the three of them—I don't know if they're trying to be quiet at all, but I can hear them clearly through the Mozart No. 23 in A Major.
"So’s he, like," The tall blonde one, with the very noticeable Liverpool accent, scoffs, "Gonna stay there all night?"
I can hear them beside me, but I'm just pretending that the headphones are blocking out all the sound. They aren't, but I pretend that they are for my own sake. Maybe focusing on the work in front of me will keep me distracted.
"That guy's totally brings the vibe down— we like never see him out or anything." The other guy says. His voice is quiet, but not quiet enough. "How do you sleep here with him? He's weird, bro. Like never talks."
I look up from the computer screen just a bit, just enough to see that Chase notices that I've heard what they're saying. Chase and I make eye contact for a moment; he shakes his head.
He noticed that I heard them, and that I'm able to continue to hear them. I scoot out from my chair—the one that I pay rent to sit in—before I move up towards the fridge to grab something to drink.
They're staring at me now that I've moved, almost like it's an anomaly to them.
That's the thing—Chase has been my roommate since last year. We were paired together randomly; I didn't care who I roomed with because I felt like I could get along with anyone if it really came to it. I wasn't really an issue, I didn't think. I was quiet, kept to myself. I didn't think that I was necessarily a problem.
Chase was extremely kind– he was a bit unsure of himself, maybe testing out the waters of who he wanted to be. We got along fine, he was a bit shy when he first arrived, too. That's how we became pretty good friends. Maybe we didn't have all of the same interests, but I knew that we looked out for one another.
But then things changed when he started to meet people who wanted to go out every night, and who were drinking to get drunk. And do other things, I guess.
Chase never brought anyone home or anything, which was good– well, for me. Maybe not him, I wasn't sure. We didn't talk about that.
His friends, the drinking, the going out– it didn't stop Chase and I from being friends. It just made me a bit uneasy when he's brought his friends to our apartment that we shared.
His friends weren't my friends.
His friends were on the football team and went out to pubs to find pretty girls. That just wasn't where I was, and it wasn't what I was directly focused on in school. Girls weren't interested in astrophysics, I seemed to find.
Chase's stare on me doesn't go unnoticed as I look back from grabbing a can of Coke from the fridge. I make my way back to the small table, starting to pack up the papers I had spread around it.
"Harry, you remember Hayden and Shawn, right?" Chase looks at his friends and I can tell he's trying to mitigate like always. He looks back at me with a bit of sadness reigning in his face, "We'll leave you alone, H, you can stay and study."
I shut my laptop, knowing it's much easier to find a more comfortable spot elsewhere.
I had to be at the library soon, anyways.
"No, it's fine," I say, a bit quiet as I watch his friends grumble under their breaths "I'm meeting someone anyways."
The tall blonde with a middle part and a denim jacket scoffs out a laugh before I feel a rush of anxiety flood my upper chest as I can feel the judgement and overwhelming sense of unease. I clear my throat, grabbing my laptop and loose papers before heading towards my bedroom.
"Wait," I hear Chase following me, but I just make my way to my room in a few strides anyways. I start to pack up a bag of my belongings, eyes looking up at my friend. "Why don't you stay here and drink with us? You don't even have to drink, really. It'll be fun. Maybe they can, I don't know, get to know you."
"I'd rather not get to know them," I tell him honestly. My lip pulls into my mouth, his exterior shows a bit of defeat as he stands inside the doorframe. "They're pricks, Chase."
Chase looks over his shoulders at his friends who have started to make themselves at home. They've started to take already opened liquor out of our cabinets, putting them on the counter space around the unopened ones. They take bowls out and plates and other things that are also mine but it's easier to stay quiet.
"Just keep everyone out of my room, please." I tell my friend before I pick my bag up from the floor. I grab all of the statistics papers from the desk, placing them in their own folder.
Chase stands at the doorframe, arms crossed over his chest, keeping conversation. "You meeting with Niall, then?"
Niall was one of my closest friends in uni. He was majoring in engineering, but we had a few math classes together which had made us grow close. We had the same type of love for our education; wanting it to be the best we could be.
We were competitive with grades, in a fun way. We liked knowing how everything worked and figuring out problems together.
Niall and I had gone to a few parties and events together in the past– we had both understood that wasn't our scene very quickly.
And that's why we were friends.
"No," I shake my head. "He's busy tonight. I think has some sort of club fundraiser. Don't really know."
Chase's face changes a bit. I look up to him when he squints at me, his lips quivering a bit into a smile. It's a bit unnerving when he does so, and it's just a bit confusing at first.
"What? What's wrong?" I ask, grabbing my shoes that sit over by the closet to put on my shoes.
"Is it someone I know? The person you're meeting?" Chase doesn't attend back to his friends, and only seems to be entertained by what I'm doing. I blink a few times at him, wondering his angle.
"Uh," I think a few times over at how Chase could have possibly known Stella, "How would I know? Maybe. It's just a girl from my statistics class. Needs some tutoring for our exam tomorrow." I throw my bag over my shoulder before I'm standing in front of him.
We're standing in front of each other, but he's not backing down from his way in the door. Chase's smile flips up and he stares at me for a moment.
"Chase." I say, pushing my glasses up, "I have to get to the library."
"Tutoring is kind of sexy, huh?" He teases, my eyes roll at his stupid comment.
"It's not like that." I tell him quickly, shaking his head.
"Surely, she asked you to study with her. Not the other way around." He questions, putting his arms across the doorframe so that I couldn't leave. I stand in front of him, trying my best to dodge the questions and seemingly meaningless accusations.
"Does that matter?" I ask, a bit confused by his statement.
I watch as Chase smirks, his eyes lighting up at my words, "Hope you won't end up in 414.”
Pushing my glasses up my face, I shake my head a few times as I stare at him, completely unsure of what he was talking about. I don't even want to ask, but I can see that he's pushing me to, so I shrug my shoulders at him. I've given up that he's going to let me go.
"I don't know what that means." I say to him before I watch his eyes get bigger.
"You don't know about 414? Damn, you do live under a rock."
I roll my eyes, pushing at his shoulder to try to move past him before he pushes me back and laughs a little.
"414 is a room on the top level of the library where no one ever goes—it's like, completely hidden. There's a journal for it across from the room where people like, write in time slots to go and fuck because it's a completely soundproof study room that you can lock. For all those freaky kids. You'd probably be into that, honestly."
I lick over my lips as I push into him again, but he's not budging. I look at him, trying to get him to wipe the smug smile from his face before he raises his brows at me.
I click my tongue, "I'm going to completely ignore this conversation, if you don't mind. Now, if you'll excuse me."
Chase rolls his eyes, letting me finally go by removing one arm from the doorframe.
I knew I've made a mistake saying anything at all, as I push past him to try to make my way out of the apartment in one piece without thinking anymore into what kind of information he's just given me.
I walk into the kitchen; it's not much, so it feels a bit cramped with the four of us now inhabiting the space. Chase's friends are standing around and suddenly quiet when I approach the room. I unscrew my water bottle at the sink, filling it up in the silence of the room.
“What's up, Einstein?" The other friend with very dark hair smirks at me, both lingering as Chase approaches too. "Why don't you take a break from studying and hang tonight with the boys? Or are we too much for you?"
I ignore it– pulling my lips into my mouth as I bite my tongue. I screw the lid back on before I turn and see Chase looking at me.
"We're just having a few people over tonight, nothing big. Then we're going to happy hour at Lou's." Chase assures before I nod at him. I clear my throat before pulling at the straps of my backpack.
"That's– okay, yeah, that's fine." I assure him. "I'll be back later."
With another nod, I go to the front door where a small dish holds all our keys. I grab my lanyard that holds my car key and my apartment key before I start to head towards the stairs. A few sets of those, and I'm on the main floor as I move out towards the library which is only a short walk.
Just my thoughts and I again.
It had thankfully stopped raining a few hours ago, which just left everything quite damp and wet. I trudged through a few puddles on my way there, looking across campus.
There weren't a lot of people walking around, probably because it was also a bit on the cool side. I had been wearing the same black hoodie from the morning, so I wasn't cold on my walk over there.
But it was getting to be the colder part of the year. England had rainier seasons, and the fall always seemed to have the worst weather. At least snow looked nice—rainy, damp, and dreary were just a bit depressing.
Making my way to the library, I open the large door and smile at the girl who sits behind the desk at the entrance. She's always very friendly, giving me a warm welcome when I walk in. She had short blonde hair, golden brown eyes and is always looks like she's happy to be there.
If she's not, she's putting on a great show.
“Hey, Harry,” She states softly, “How's it going?”
I wish I knew her name– she knows mine, so I feel a bit awkward as I approach the desk. She's never really talked to me before, but I smile at her.
“Uh, it's good,” I nod, rolling a hand through my hair, “I– just have an exam tomorrow. So,” I reference upstairs, feeling that my cheeks are most definitely hot from the way she's hanging in every word.
She’s sitting behind the desk, a book on the table as she seems to have been reading while she sat there. I know I should say something– maybe add a bit of conversation but I don't know what else to say.
I smile and nod a few times, using my hand to scratch at my hair in an uncomfortably awkward way.
“I’ll see–“ I start.
“Would you–“ She says.
When we speak at the same time, we both smile, and I hear her giggle for a moment before she shakes her head.
“I was just saying,” She licks her lips, “If you're ever interested, we have a book club here on Tuesday nights. I-I mean, I’m just saying because you're always here– I don't know if you read for fun or anything,” She clears her throat, “But if you did.”
I look down at the book in her hands, nodding a few times before I speak again. “That– is that the book?”
She notices that I caught sight of what she was reading, looking up me and holding the cover up, “Yes– well, no, actually. It's just a Murakami book– After Dark. This isn't what we read for book club– well, kind of.”
I looked at the cover and back to her, cutting her off as she seems a bit flustered. “I may check it out, yeah,” I swallow before clarifying, “The club. The club and the book.”
The girl bites her lip before she shakes her head, “Um– sorry, I’m Faye, by the way.”
I bite my cheek as I watch her eyes crinkle at the sides when her cheeks turn up in a small smile.
“Faye.” I say quietly before I nod at her, “I’ll see you around.”
She nods back at me in acknowledgement before I start to make my way back towards the steps, so I can make my way to the third floor where I usually have my set up. It's nice because it's always the least busy of the levels. The first floor holds computers, which are the most used for printing and workshopping. The second and fourth floors have more study rooms, and the third floor is mostly aisles of books and free tables.
That's where I prefer to be, close to the window so that I can look out occasionally over all the people who are making their way across campus; heading wherever they need to be on a Thursday evening. It also adds a bit of lighting until the sun heads back on the other side of the world, which is helpful just for a while.
The watch on my wrist reads 6:12pm. I had a while before I was expecting someone else to arrive.
It had started to get a bit darker—mostly because the clouds had started to overcast, which meant that the sun wasn't visible anyways. The days were starting to shorten, and winter was starting to become a bit more of a reality.
As I sat and studied other classes, I had realized that my watch started to move a bit faster every time I looked at it.
Six turned into seven.
Seven turned into eight. And I was still sitting at the table by myself.
Being in the library by myself was lonely– it was the first time that loneliness and being alone were coexisting. Something about being stood up, being left alone was a different level of loneliness. It was an embarrassing loneliness.
I tried to focus on other work at my table, tried to think more about Mach's principle as I read through the textbook. I tried to ignore the time, tried to ignore the feeling in my chest that maybe I had miscommunicated about times or where we were supposed to meet. Maybe I had given her a false impression, or we miscommunicated on time.
There were reasons I didn't put expectations on people– in many ways, they never showed up like they were supposed to. I didn't want to feel disappointment anymore, or that my excitement didn't match others.
Doing good deeds seemingly never panned out in my favor, as it showed. Maybe I read into it too much, maybe she felt bad for me and decided to ask to hang out so I wouldn't feel so shy. Maybe she said yes because so had approached her, now she felt bad.
It worked, I guess. For a bit.
I couldn't focus– I hated that feeling. I never had a problem with it before, and now these ideas of anxiety rushed through my head as I tried to put my nose to the page to forget about the way that this had made me feel. My glasses fell to the bridge of my nose, and I pushed them up to their place.
A heavy sigh fell through my lips as I noticed the time that had simply slipped by.
8:30.
I had been waiting for hours– I told her I'd be here at six, and I gave her the benefit of the doubt for an hour. But now it was spelled out perfectly for me, and I didn't really want to read between the lines.
Sitting back in the wooden library chair, I ran a hand through my hair as I finally decide that it's time for me to start heading home.
Hopefully, Chase and his friends have moved onto the bars, and won't be there when I get back. That would just put me in a worse mood. As I push myself up to start packing up my belongings to head home, I hear the door of the staircase open.
I'm the only one up here most nights, so the noise elicits me to jerk my head up. The sound of clicking heels on the tile make my eyebrows knit before I see the culprit of the noise, and the person heading towards me from around the large bookcases.
My eyes gravitate towards the extraordinarily long, bronze legs that melt into tall, brown boots on the ends. A cream skirt that sits short on her thighs but high on her waist, with a knit sweater top that has a few buttons done up in the middle, but the rest of open in a triangular shape on her torso. Also bronze, also tall.
I've never seen anything like that in the library before.
"Oh my god, there you are!" The girl stomps her way over, her voice relatively loud for the space as I feel an unsettled amount of surprise. It is a library, after all, and she's a bit loud.
I'm a bit taken aback; I fall into the chair once again as I'm watching her pull out the chair in front of me.
"Who knew there were so many levels of this place?" She laughs to herself– the glitter on her eyes shines so bright as I notice the crinkles by her eyes. "Don't know if I've—well, I don't think I've ever been in here properly, really."
It's such a difference of what she looked like just hours before. The tear stains are gone, there's a lightness to her now that's different. The makeup coating her face is natural and dewy with such high points of shine, her lips pouty and brown with a glossy finish.
I'm absolutely confused and feeling suddenly warm underneath the black hoodie at the same time.
But there's also a slur to her words as she places her hands and the small bag on the wooden table loudly.
"I'm sorry I'm late," She rolls her eyes dramatically, "I got dragged to this thing– well, I mean, I had to go to it. But I thought that this was a really good excuse to leave." She giggles a little, her smile bright and white.
I watch as her sleek, dark brown hair coats over her shoulders. It's got a bounce of soft curls that are much different than the chaos of curls that had been thrown into a ponytail earlier.
I'm in a bit of shock as I look away from her and back to the papers that have surrounded me just moments before.
"Um– I mean, are you—" I look up at her, watching as her eyes struggle to follow mine. There's a soft smile on her lips as she leans on the table a bit almost like my question is the most exciting thing to her. "Are you drunk?"
Her face falls a bit, as if I just found out her biggest secret. She shakes her head a few times, "No– no, I just had a few—" She shakes her head more, but I can tell that her balance is a bit off as she shakes her head. "I'm totally fine."
In the moment, I see that her body seems to stiffen at recognizing that my energy simply doesn't match hers. She can see that I'm a bit taken back by her suddenness of being here, and I don't really know how to react to her sitting across from me now.
I don't really know how to feel now because I'm not sure I was planning for this situation at all. Especially from the morning that she had. It was different, it wasn't exactly what I had expected from her, and I'm trying to think about how to proceed.
"So," I start, a bit confused, "you're not here to study.”
I watch as her eyes shift over the papers that I am starting to put away, maybe a bit guilty that she had come in the first place. Maybe it would have been better to be stood up than to watch the look on her face.
"Oh, are you, like," She licked over her lips, her eyes batting a few times before she notices that I've started to pick up a few things around me. "Were you getting ready to leave?” The look on my face must register because her eyes drop and she bites her lip, “Oh, fuck—okay, yeah. I'm sorry. I'm so stupid– I'm sorry."
"No, you're not. I just– must've been some miscommunication." I tell her softly, nodding a few times to remind us both that we had just been mistaken.
Stella goes to stand from her spot, pushing herself up from the chair before she pulls the skirt down her legs a bit. I watch as she grabs the small bag that had been sitting on her shoulder when she walked in.
She tucks her hair behind her ear, and I notice the small earrings that are in the dainty shape of stars settle into her lobes.
I clear my throat.
"You didn't have to—I mean, you didn't have to come, if you were having fun. I just– I mean, I thought you needed help.” I tell her softly, watching as she seems a bit lost about where to go now.
As if this was the only place she was planning on going. Almost like she didn't really see this outcome, or maybe felt like she wasn't wanted here. That wasn't the truth at all, but I didn't know how to express that.
A bit of glitter has fallen from her eyes, landing softly on her cheeks as she stands at the table.
"I knew that I was going to leave the party early," She nods her head softly, "I just didn't—yeah, I messed up and– like, I do need help but I just... Sorry for wasting your time."
There's a moment when she starts to walk off that I stand from my seat, pushing the chair back. A weird, unidentifiable feeling comes over me.
“Stella, wait."
Her head turns back towards me, a bit of a stumble in her step at the high-heeled brown boots that stack up her calves and to her knee. The unsteadiness of her walking seems a bit dangerous to me, and I don't really want to see her fall.
"Can I—I mean, don't feel like you have to say yes but," I push my hands into my jean pockets as I take in a deep breath, "Let me take you back to your friends, or something. I mean, I don't want you to—" I shake my head at my words, knowing that they sound a bit odd as we don't know each other at all. "You shouldn't be walking on campus by yourself at night."
Her eyebrows knit together, like she was trying to process the way that I spoke to her. She stared at me, a familiar stare from earlier in the morning. This time, she looked a bit more vulnerable. It was almost like she was in disbelief that I would even offer in the first place.
"Oh," She turns to me a bit, her arms crossed over her chest. "Yeah, sure."
Before there's any more conversation, I start to pack my belongings back in my backpack. All of the papers I had created for her were stuffed back into the folders, hopefully she didn't even notice that I had done that to begin with. My cheeks flush just at the thought of how ridiculous it sounded now.
Once the backpack is full, I throw it over my shoulder and start to move a bit closer to her.
Orange blossom and citrus melt from her skin, which makes me shut my eyes just at the idea of it. We start to head down the steps of the library, her feet almost dragging underneath her.
I'm not entirely sure that she realizes how many drinks she's had, but I let her take the side of the railing so that she can make her way down without tripping.
On the last staircase, her toe gets stuck underneath her foot, which makes her stumble a few times. I reach my hand out, grabbing at her elbow to steady her as she gasps at the way her balance has been thrown off. The immediate touch burns my palm, feeling her skin through the sweater material of her top.
"You okay?" I ask, watching as she nods her head a few times, humming—possibly a bit embarrassed by how off she really is. "Where do we need to get you?"
I watch as her brain starts to turn at the thought of where she needs to get to. I wonder how she got here in the first place, and who let her walk around campus like this on her own. I try to meet her eyes as she rubs at them, a bit of makeup smudging as she does so.
"Um," She shakes her head, "Flats towards 12th West. Don't really know what they're called."
We're standing outside of the library now; I'm facing her as she tries to recall where we need to go. I don't know that I've ever really dealt with a drunk person before like this. Chase was better at taking care of himself, so this was new to me.
I nod a few times, "I'm headed over there, too. Can you call a friend to ask?"
I watch as she hums to herself, agreeing with me and grabbing her cellphone out of her purse. It immediately drops to the ground from the slip of her fingers, landing with a crunch.
"Son of a fucking bitch," She exclaims, moving to squat down to grab it, but I'm already there.
Her reflexes are obviously not what they need to be, as she puts her hand over mine when we both reach for the phone. She doesn't pull away quickly, instead, keeping it there for a moment as I turn the phone around in my palm so that she can grab it.
"Thanks," She says softly, looking at the newly broken screen that leaves a large crack up the middle of her phone. "Fuck."
I watch her go to unlock the device, scrolling through her apps before landing on one and looking at it a bit intensely. The crack seems to not be that big of a deal anymore as she starts to focus harder on the screen.
"This building, here," I see that she's looking at the Find My Device, looking at a device that is right in the general direction of my apartment building. A friends contact pops up, and I try to see where it is.
The closer I look at the device, the more I notice... it is my flat building.
I take in a breath as I look at the girl, wondering if she had partaken in the Jack Daniels that had sat on the counter before I left for the library. I wonder if the scent of orange blossom would linger on my sofa at home.
The odd thought is immediately pushed from my brain as I return to reality. "I live over there, so I'll just walk you back, okay? Tell me if anything looks familiar."
My eyes linger over her body that she is crossing her arms over. The slight chill in the air makes her legs to shift a few times as we stand. I can tell that her discomfort is overwhelming her, and I feel like watching her is hurting me in a way.
"Here," I set my backpack on the ground by my feet for a moment.
Her eyes watch me do so before I pull the black hoodie from my torso, over my head. I knock my glasses on my face a bit so they're on the edge of my nose. The warmth of the cover on my body is now gone, but I watch as she seems a bit uncertain on what I'm doing.
"Take this. It's a bit of a walk." I hand her the black hoodie, her eyes trailing over it for a moment. I can see there's hesitation, which only makes the anxiety settle in my chest at her unwillingness to take the piece of clothing.
This is probably weird, and I regret it immediately.
I watch as she grabs it from my hand to throw over her body, a bit disoriented. When she lifts her arms up, the edges of her top move up around the bottom of her ribs.
I flush immediately, a heat rising up my neck almost disregarding the coolness in the air tonight.
My eyes look away, but seeing her head pop out from the hoodie makes me feel better that at least she can stay warm now.
I can't imagine that someone has allowed her to be out here like this. She walked all this way, alone, without someone to help her. She can barely walk in a straight line as we start down the other towards the apartment.
A bit of wind sweeps through, her legs exposed, and my own arms now just bare with my t-shirt.
I don't know how to firmly create conversation with her– mostly because I know that her mind isn't in the right place. Stella and I do not seem compatible, and every move she makes reminds me of that. I've watched an odd twelve hours of her life, from a huge mess to a complete mess.
But, something about her is intriguing. I’m the curious type.
My hands push into my pockets, the backpack thankfully shielding my back as we walk down the cobblestone pathways. We've walked a bit in silence, and I feel like that's for the best. But I try to give a bit of talking points in case she needs it.
"Anything look familiar?" I say, trying to keep myself warm as I feel her sway a bit against me.
Her eyes move from their site in the path to where we are on campus.
"N-No," Her teeth chatter, and I feel incredibly guilty for not driving over here instead. "B-but this is s-so nice of you." She turns her head, a mess of soft curls in her face as she pushes they out of her eyes. "You must h-have a good m-mum."
I knit my brows together, a bit confused by her logic. I push my hands far in my pocket as I grit my teeth together at how cool out it is. "Why do you say that?"
"Only a g-guy with a nice m-mum would walk a g-girl home in her going-out clothes without l-looking at her ass and just covering her u-up more." Stella chuckles a little bit; it sounds like she's trying to make a joke, but it only aches in my chest as she crosses her arms over her chest tightly.
I didn't really find that funny.
I pull my lips into my mouth as I turn my lips up just enough to acknowledge her humor. "You just need to get home safely."
I hear her sniffle next to me, the coldness getting to her. The bright pink of her nose is noticeable as the coolness hits us.
My apartment building is in sight, her eyes reach up. "This is where the party was." Her hand points directly at my building before I nod a few times.
"I live there, actually," I say, biting my lip. "I think my roommate was throwing the party you went to. His name is Chase."
Stella clears her throat, wiping at her nose, "Oh! Yeah, yeah. I know Chase.” She tells me, biting her lip, “I didn't know you lived there. You're never there when we come over.”
I take a breath in, “I– I probably am there. I just– I just don't really…”
“Not your scene?” She asks, the heel of the boots click across the pavement.
I shrug. “Not really. I– I don't drink or anything. I don't know.”
Stella tucked her hair behind her ear, “You don't have to drink. Maybe you could just hang out. You seem,” I look over at her once she pauses, “You seem really nice.”
I tuck my bottom lip between my teeth before I feel the tinge of a smile. “Thanks. You're pretty nice, too.”
When we reach the door, I open it before she walks inside the lobby. We make our way to the stairs– the elevator is seemingly always broken. I take the lead, going in front of her before we reach the second level.
When we make our way down the hall and to the front door of my flat, Stella doesn't say anything else. She just seems to accept that this is where she needs to be, and she seems to recognize where she is.
The music is over-stimulatingly loud from where we're standing out front, and I’m trying to anticipate walking into it. My hands reach into my pockets as I grab the keys. She looks much smaller wrapped in the black hoodie as it drapes down her front, hiding the remnants of the cream skirt that is gracing her small frame.
I stick the key in the door, pushing it open and hearing the blast of music immediately hit us both.
They hadn't left yet, like they said they would.
When we walk in, I move in first, Stella following behind. I look around, seeing more faces that I didn't know. There are significantly more faces now, and I just let out a sigh.
When I walk towards the kitchen, I can feel Stella behind me before I catch Chase’s eye, but I hear a louder voice first.
"Stella," I hear, "where the fuck did you go?"
I watch the blonde man from earlier approach her immediately disregarding me, a beer in his hand as he gets too close to us. I watch hesitantly as he pulls her closer, as if my existence was purely nonexistent to him.
I drop my keys in the small dish before star making my way through the crowd of people to walk back down the hall and to my bedroom, as if the past hour didn't happen. The noise of the bass is a bit overwhelming; the people don't seem to interest me.
"Needed to go for a walk." I hear her say, "I thought you guys were going to get something to eat?"
"Harry!" My eyes move to the kitchen where Chase seems a little looser than before; his smile undoubtedly bigger as he comes closer to me.
My head turns back, as I feel a grip on my arm before I can make a getaway.
"You found Hayden's girlfriend?" He asks, his eyes moving towards the familiarity of the brunette with amber eyes who had my black hoodie on over her body.
Everyone was way too drunk to miss that part. The black hoodie– I’m sure if someone knew, I'd be in trouble for that.
I stare at her talking to Hayden, her face looking relatively upset from their conversation. His hand reaches to her waist, pulling her in to kiss her.
Immediately, I look away. I feel a racing in my heart that's feels completely unnatural and like anything else I've ever felt before. Maybe the feeling of throwing up is also present, which is also weird to me.
My head turns away from the interaction– I start to pull away from Chase, back to the safer confines of my room. Back where my time and kindness aren't taken for granted.
Back to where something as simple as watching that interaction doesn't add a ridiculous ping of annoyance in the settlement of my chest.
"Yeah, something like that." I say to him, moving away before he can follow me to my room, just like earlier.
"How was your studying?" He asks, pretending like he cares for a moment. I can tell by the look in his eyes he won't remember this conversation tomorrow.
I turn towards him, holding my door in my hand, "Don't know if she's going to remember anything tomorrow for the exam. But I tried."
With a simple shut, the music is still a bit too loud from the other side of the door. But, out of sight, out of mind.
I had a stats exam to finish studying for.

Dimension 20: Fantasy High Junior Year! I thought it was a good, fun time.
Some people (you know the type) are mad that a character was revealed to be evil at the last second, because it doesn't really make sense given their actions prior to that point. I think it is important to remember that, although major plot elements are certainly planned ahead of time, a lot of it is just what occurred to Brennan to say in the moment.
For example! In the Adventuring Party for the last episode (check me out, I'm all caught up!) Brennan reveals that the reason Fabian's getting a sibling is that the table didn't laugh enough at the revelation that Gilear and his mother are getting a dog. That seems like it's going to be pretty important in Senior Year (whenever that happens) and it was entirely Brennan, in the moment, deciding that he wanted a bigger reaction to end the scene on. That's just the sort of thing that plots hinge on sometimes.
Also, it's like these people have never seen a last-minute twist that makes no sense before. Go watch Now You See Me and get back to me, you know?

Alright, the special.
The special was SO FUCKING GOOD I'm crying inside because there's SOOOO much to talk about with the kyman moments I am THRIVING right now- ahem sorry got too hyper there ^^'
First of all, the fact that everytime Cartman had a skinny dream Kyle was always at the front of it one way or another, this boy is obsessed with him it's insane that he was in his dream twice and he went to him first at the end after the declaration THAT KYLE MADE.
Tumblr media
Second, Kyle was making the conscious decision to help him make his dream real and was initiating almost ALL of the physical contact with Cartman which he would NEVER do and never HAS done until now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Kyle filling out all the medical records and going through all the loops despite not really getting anywhere with Cartman watching him REALLY reminded me of the crack baby episode where he was doing all the legal shit and I am honestly living for it, plus not to mention that Kyle was getting pissed off FOR Cartman's sake because they kept being denied. So good.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BUT THEN it gets to when Kyle and the boys stay in the cycle of make the drug - drug gets taken - order more powder - repeat and Cartman was giving up, Kyle kept giving him the pep talks because Kyle knows that Cartman's never one to give up on anything so seeing him actively losing his will was weird for him to see and he wasn't allowing that, nuh uh. Even going as far as ordering a supply that wasn't their usual after the Indian factory got attacked.
Tumblr media
Also when they had the yelling match shaking each other back and forth, those last words from Kyle were so fucking passionate and genuine are you kidding meeeeeee. AND THEY WERE INCHES AWAY FROM EACHOTHER THEY LITERALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PERSONAL SPACE IS- oh yeah and Cartman was literally staring at Kyle's lips.
Tumblr media
And the chase scene... WHERE DO I BEGIN?? Kyle was literally SHOOTING PEOPLE'S MOTHERS so he could successfully make the drug for Cartman (and everyone else) because he didn't want Cartman's hope to run out again THAT IS SOME GAY SHIT RIGHT THERE. He was so determined to make Cartman's wishes come true he didn't care what he had to do to make it happen.
Tumblr media
And I have no idea if anyone else even caught this but Cartman pronounces Kyle's name CORRECTLY. THREE TIMES! This just proves my theory I had ALL the way back since Imaginationland that Cartman says his name correctly when he's actually being genuine aghhh bye I'm losing my fucking mind I was literally GIGGLING after watching this special the first time around.
Matt and Trey KNOW what they're doing with every subtle action, whether it's eye placement, name pronunciation ect and those of you who are going to turn around and say that Kyle doesn't give a shit about Cartman and how he is then RESPECTFULLY you are living under a fucking rock because this whole thing is just... Kyle being concerned about him and wanting him to achieve what he wants for himself like a caring friend should and I am so glad this was finally brought to light and shoved into everyone's faces ❤💚

Anakin
I woke up to the bright lights of the medical room, my eyes slowly opening to adjust my vision. I felt my body ache like hell, as though I had been run over by a truck.
I also felt a sharp pain on my left side and on my chest. Fuck. It took me several seconds to realize I wasn't alone there. Looking over from the corner of my eye, I noticed someone was attaching my metal arm back again.
It was (Y/N). I took a sharp breath and inhaled loudly. She got caught up, not expecting to see me awake. "Oh- I'm so sorry, did I wake you?".
She didn't manage to finish attaching the piece as she waited for a response, and I shook my head. I could say I was glad I have finally gotten it back, but I was beyond pissed.
My mouth was dry, and I was feeling like shit. I tried to lift my torso and sit up, but she stopped me right away. I shot her a confused and annoyed glare.
"You're not supposed to be moving too much, Master" She said in a whisper. "Do you need anything? I- I can let the doctors know you're awake. Luke fell asleep on the couch".
Then I looked on my left side and saw my little boy all curled up, deep in his sleep. I sighed, he must have been really worried about me. Confused, too.
It was taking all of me to not call her out after what happened to me. But I wasn't going to do that, not in front of Luke.
"I want you to finish this-" I looked over my faux arm. "And I want you to be out". My voice came out hoarse from the lack of speaking and drinking water.
(Y/N) looked at me in complete shock, but nodded and didn't say another word.
As soon as she finished it - which didn't take her much, since she was professional at it - I watched as she stood up from her chair. (Y/N) kept her gaze on the floor the entire time, not even noticing when I gripped my metal fingers around her wrist tightly.
Her eyes shot up to where I was holding her, and she hesitantly looked at me. "This is-" I had to clear my throat as my voice wouldn't come out. "This is your fault, I hope you know it".
I let go of her, staring at her back as she made her way out of the room. I pinched the bridge of my nose and muttered under my breath.
Lukey was still out, and I didn't want to wake him up.
-
It took me two fucking days to actually get released from the medical bay as they wouldn't let me get out at all. My stab wound was barely healed, even though they made sure I would be able to be up and walk.
I spent almost the entire day with Luke, helping him with his homework, as well as playing with his toys or teaching him a few mechanic skills I learned back in Tatooine.
When I could finally do something rather than being completely useless, I headed to the office where we usually plan our missions. I walked past the door and Cal hurriedly came to meet me with a hug.
I groaned from the touch and he realized he pushed the boundaries. "I'm sorry, Master! Jesus, I forgot about it for a second there. I'm just glad you're up and good".
He started rambling, and I placed a hand on his shoulder, calming him down, "I appreciate it".
I smiled briefly before sitting down on the desk, releasing a low sigh. It's only been two days and I already missed being out there.
After discussing for a couple of hours, we were all dismissed for a gathering outside the Temple. I excused myself and made my way to the dining hall, where Luke should be having lunch with his few friends and C-3PO.
I felt my spine become rigid and my hand went cold as I saw him bonding with (Y/N), again. I couldn't help but roll my eyes in annoyance, trying to simmer down. I haven't forgotten I was pretty mad for what happened.
"Luke!" I called out in a rather loud tone and he looked my way. The boy waved at me and proceeded to get back at what he was doing with her.
She barely looked at me and I knew she was keeping her guard up when I was around. I walked toward them, watching as she managed to handle a T-16 skyhopper toy. It was probably his.
-
NO POV
(Y/N) felt her heartbeat go off too fast, and she could hear her blood pumping through her veins. After what happened between them two days before, she couldn't even handle being near him again.
And the fact she was found making company for Luke made the situation even worse. She followed his steps as he approached them and sat next to the boy.
It was like he was never really calm. He was constantly angry or frowning at everyone and everything. The only moments he seems to be at peace is when he's with Luke.
"What did I tell you the other day?" Anakin mumbled, not even disguising how he glanced at her. His son pouted and apologized.
"He came to me, asking to help him with hi-" (Y/N) was about to explain but he cut her off.
"Didn't I make myself clear the other day? You have to stay close to 3PO" He pretty much sounded coarse, although he wasn't yelling.
"He said she's trustworthy, daddy. And she was helping me set up my toy" Luke kept his head down the whole time, not daring to look up at his father.
This is ridiculous, she thought. What? He thinks she's gonna literally lose it and kidnap him? Or just vanish with the kid without anyone noticing?
He huffed, still not giving two fucks if she was there or not. Anakin tried to look indifferent by the way his son was literally trusting a person he couldn't trust. Someone who was strange to them. Well, quite like it.
"I'm sorry, I have work to do" She gathered her things and rushed out of the table without even looking back.
Anakin took the toy from his son's little hands and gave it a look. "What's up with it?".
Luke sat on his lap and pointed to one of the wings. "One of the wings is hanging loose. I thought she could fix it, since she fixed your arm".
He sounded frustrated, especially because his father noticed how low the boy's voice came out. Anakin felt guilty about Luke and swallowed hard.
Maybe he could fix it himself. Or maybe he could ask some engineer or a Droid to do it.
He just didn't want to have to see her again.
-
He was definitely frustrated. He felt like he wasn't being a good father, like he wasn't able to actually educate his son and be there for him all the time. Even though he had time to rest his body and heal faster, Anakin felt worn out.
Obviously he noticed the way people looked at him, even his fellow Masters. It didn't matter to him to be honest, he already made himself clear that he didn't care about that.
His eyes were holding a shadow of sadness and frustration with himself; they weren't vibrant with the same determination he had before. The blue irises became cold and sad.
He was in the training room, practicing his movements with the newly fixed robotic arm. Anakin couldn't actually complain about the job they had done, because it seemed to work better than before.
The limb was polished, even. He swooned his lightsaber around the room, avoiding any abrupt movement to prevent any harm to his wounds.
It was a lot easier when Obi-Wan was around. He definitely had a good mood to practice, he was always supporting his apprentice.
Sometimes, when it got too quiet, Anakin would hear his rough words shout out to his former Master.
"I hate you!" He had just lost the love of his life. "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you".
"Were". "Loved". It felt like his heart got ripped out of his chest and stomped on.
After that, he promised he wouldn't trust anyone. Besides C-3PO and R2-D2, he knows he can barely trust the other Jedi he goes on missions with.
His mind goes way back. To the day his mother died. To the day Padmé died. To the day he felt betrayed by Obi-Wan. To the day Palpatine left him behind, beaten up and mourning for his losses.
It has been six years already. He should've gotten over it. He has Luke now. He has the Droids; and somewhat, he had Cal Kestis, who was a loyal Jedi and colleague.
His flesh knuckles were almost raw from the punches he was throwing at the punching bag. It was becoming hard to reach his relief that day. He let out a strangled groan as he threw his final jab, sending the bag flying.
Anakin fell to his knees, feeling defeated. He didn't want to cry out his sorrows, he told himself he was past that.
From the corner of his eyes, he felt like he was being watched. The shadow standing behind the closed doors was glancing at him with a knowing look.
They have been there before.

Nichelle Nichols Vs. Carolyn Jones
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda
Nichelle Nichols - (Star Trek) - She speaks for herself. Legendary, iconic, at the forefront of feminism and civil rights in the 60s, she is a triple threat who did so much more. She volunteered from 1977 to promote recruitment diversity within NASA, including some of the first female and ethnic minority astronauts. Martin Luther King Jr. compared her work on Star Trek as a 'vital role model' to the civil rights marches. She refused to be dismissed, fought for visibility and shone whilst doing so. As a woman in stem, and simply a woman she means the world and stars above to me.
Carolyn Jones - (The Addams Family) - The OG goth queen! Admit it, you're still not sure if you're in love with Morticia Addams, or if you want her to adopt you? Maybe both?
Master Poll List of the Hot Vintage TV Ladies Bracket
Additional propaganda below the cut
Nichelle Nichols:
She is the original badass babe. She was a black woman in a leading role on TV in the 60s, a trailblazer for black actresses for years to come. She is so beautiful and so awesome.
Tumblr media
she's fantastic. have you seen her? paved the way for black actresses on TV even while her lines and scenes were being cut and improvised the most iconic uhura line in the series. (sulu: "I'll save you, fair maiden!" uhura, pushing him away: "sorry, neither!") she's incredibly talented and it's a crime the show didn't give her more screen time (or make her sing more often because she also has a beautiful voice!)
Tumblr media
“Sorry, neither” in response to “fair maiden” was ad libbed by her. There’s a lot more I could say but what else do you need??
Tumblr media
A sci-fi icon!
Tumblr media
She was such a trailblazer, and Uhura was such an important character for so many people to be able to see on TV. Apparently Mae Jemison (the first African American woman to go into space) cited her as a reason she wanted to become an astronaut. She was just an absolute legend!
Tumblr media
The story of Martin Luther King telling her not to quit Star Trek gives me chills. Representation matters. “Thank you so much, Dr. King. I’m really going to miss my co-stars.” Dr. King's smile, Nichols recalled, vanished from his face. "He said, 'What are you talking about?'" the actress explained. "I told him. He said, 'You cannot,' and so help me, this man practically repeated verbatim what Gene said. He said, 'Don’t you see what this man is doing, who has written this? This is the future. He has established us as we should be seen. 300 years from now, we are here. We are marching. And this is the first step. When we see you, we see ourselves, and we see ourselves as intelligent and beautiful and proud.' He goes on and I’m looking at him and my knees are buckling. I said, 'I…, I…' And he said, 'You turn on your television and the news comes on and you see us marching and peaceful, you see the peaceful civil disobedience, and you see the dogs and see the fire hoses, and we all know they cannot destroy us because we are there in the 23rd Century.'"
Tumblr media
She shared the first interracial kiss on Star Trek, helped propel real life African American women into space-related careers, and looks divine in a mini skirt.

HOW DID UHURA WALK BACKWARDS SO FAR??? WOW!
