i feel like in movies where people from far in the past are brought up in the present they tend to be showed kind of negatively, like they don't know how to use modern technology so they are deemed stupid. and they never know how to adapt and are always weird around others.

but im pretty sure if suddenly there was a woman who appeared and was able to make a dozen different types of bread, sew her own clothes, and recognise different types of mushrooms she'd become famous real fast on social medias. i mean i would watch that.

hey so oftentimes we're told to study what we like about something when we're doing something similar (i.e. read romance novels if you want to write romance, listen to rap music if you want to make rap music, etc.) but also remember to study what you don't like about it!! this isn't even a message of "study what you hate about it so you can avoid doing it" like im talking about paying attention for beginner's mistakes and stupid errors so you can remind yourself that even the people who's work you admire are not perfect and they also made the same mistakes you will as beginner

We're living in a brave new world - there very much is a loneliness epidemic, mental health resources continue to fail us, and it's totally, 100% okay to seek comfort from people who do not know you and never will know you.

Being parasocial is to desperately smear salve on an open wound. If it eases you even a little bit, there's nothing wrong with letting yourself sink into the warmth for just a little while. It's okay to want to love, and to want to be loved. It's okay to seek that out and pretend even if it's only for a short time.

Just try to remember to take care of yourself when you're no longer in safe spaces. Those providing the comfort you seek usually only offer it WITHIN those spaces. Maintain safe boundaries.

Be kind to yourself. Be kind to others. Most of all, remember to breathe.
