If it's not too much trouble, could you share how you write your first drafts/outlines for your stories/fics?
You seem to have so many fascinating ideas, and you manage to word them in ways that almost seem cinematic and summarize your plots so efficiently. So, as someone struggling to summarize all my ideas into an outline to begin writing my stories, I wanted to ask you if you had any tips on that particular issue?
I will admit that I do have a peculiar work ethic when it comes to typing up outlines for my stories, but I find it's something that helps me more than just typing up a list of bullet points on what happens in a scene. I will also add an example from the current Batfam fic I am working on to better show you what I mean, but first some theory:
When I write a first draft/outline, I write it in the format of a movie script.
Writing outlines in the form of a movie script is incredibly effective because it forces you to focus on showing, not telling, by emphasizing visuals and action.
It tightens dialogue, ensuring every line has impact, while also honing scene structure and pacing. Script format reveals character through behavior and subtext, making emotional undercurrents clear without relying on exposition.
It drives conflict through concise, tension-filled dialogue and helps you create scenes with immediate emotional impact.
By stripping away unnecessary details, scriptwriting makes storytelling efficient, clear, and easy to visualize, naturally sharpening your narrative and maintaining momentum.
As an example, I offer you an outline written like this from a fic that I am currently writing:
EXT. JASON TODD'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
The sky opens up, rain pouring in sheets. TIM DRAKE stands outside a rundown apartment building, shivering as the cold bites at him. His clothes are soaked, clinging uncomfortably to his skin. He takes a deep breath, his body shaking, his eyes locked on the chipped, weathered door in front of him.
The door swings open.
JASON TODD stands there, casually leaning against the frame. A cigarette hangs loosely between his lips, smoke curling up around his face. His emerald green eyes take in Tim’s drenched, disheveled appearance. A beat passes, then Jason blows a cloud of smoke directly into Tim’s face. Tim coughs, looking irritated but unsurprised.
JASON (deadpan) “You look like shit.”
Tim laughs bitterly, tugging at his soaked clothes, trying to pull them away from his skin. The wet fabric clings to him, suffocating. His frustration is evident.
TIM (mutters) “Thanks. Are you gonna let me in?”
Jason smirks, flicking the ash from his cigarette onto the ground, eyes sharp as they study Tim. He leans against the doorframe, casual but predatory.
JASON (mocking) “Let me guess—His Highness finally replaced you?”
Tim barely flinches, but Jason notices. He always notices. Those green eyes catch every small twitch of vulnerability, every crack in Tim’s resolve. Jason grins, and it’s infuriating—like he’s been waiting for this moment.
Jason takes another slow drag of his cigarette, turning his head to exhale away from Tim. His voice drips with sarcastic sympathy.
JASON “Finally threw you away, huh? Gotta make room for the new, shiny model in his collection?”
Tim's shoulders hunch, his face contorting into a mix of hurt and frustration. Jason’s words hit too close to home, and that self-satisfied grin plastered on Jason’s face only makes it worse. The unspoken ‘I told you this would happen’ lingers in the air between them like a challenge.
TIM (hissing through clenched teeth) “Just let me in, asshole.”
Jason flicks his cigarette to the ground, crushing it under his boot. He steps aside, the grin still lingering, but there's a flicker of something else in his eyes—something unspoken.
Tim hesitates for only a moment before stepping inside.
And Cut!
Now, you have a wonderful and imaginative draft to work off of. It does take a bit of getting used to, but thinking of your writing as establishing shots in a movie generally helps with getting into the flow of what you are writing.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 initial thoughts
[ NOT spoiler-free ]
For me, this is one of the few franchises that got better and better as it went along. This third movie was just absolutely phenomenal. As someone had said, it is a great send-off to the movie and the Guardians we've known.
They did a great job exploring Rocket's origin. It really explains why he's never wanted to talk about his past. It was violent and heartbreaking. Nebula's line of "They did worse things to him than Thanos did to me" (or something along that line) summarized it best. You also understand why Rocket can be so violent: it wasn't much because he learned it from the people who engineered him, but because the last time he tried to get away safely, quietly, his friends - essentially his family - all got killed. And the person who caused it was so cold about it. So while he could be extreme, he does it so that no one can hurt him or any of his friends ever again.
Which leads to this other point: Rocket is a grump and a cynic, but deep down he actually really loved the other Guardians.
Adam Warlock! I didn't know what to expect from him, but after seeing the movie, I want to see more of him.
Also: it's great that the movie managed to give Adam his own origin story, his own motivation for why he eventually ended up being a guardian.
Drax was hilarious in this movie, as he always is, but Mantis kinda came for the crown a bit! The fact that she made him fall in love with a sock for fun and made one of the guards they had to get through fall in love with him were some of the funniest moments in the movie.
On a more serious Drax note: "Drax. You weren't meant to be a destroyer. You were meant to be a dad." One of the best lines in the movie. I never would have thought that this is how Drax would "grow up" as a character, but it all made sense. It does.
Kraglin had a fantastic growth too. He'd been trying to train with the arrow Yondu gave him over and over and over, trying to concentrate and plan and think. And he kept failing over and over and over. But when Knowhere was in danger, he finally remembered what Yondu told him: "Fly it with your heart." When he realized that he needed to get out of his head, man did he do some damage. It was amazing.
The bad dog/good dog argument 😂
Gamora. I like how they approached that. They didn't make her fall in love with Peter, even after all the fighting that they did as a team. They were barely even good friends in the end. Also, it's nice that she has a different family to belong to now (the Ravagers) but who still loved her just the same. It's good that they didn't try to change her. They made her realistic.
Lol "You guys are just making up what he's saying" when Groot would talk
Nebula. Oh, man, where do I begin. I've started really liking her as a character since GotG 2, and even more so during Endgame, but wow. She's really grown. She looks after the people of Knowhere, the Guardians look to her for big decisions and even resolution for internal problems of the team. The team respects her, even more than Peter most times. She still has rage inside, and she has trouble expressing other feelings without it, but I think she's made tremendous progress. And it's so obvious that she cares deeply about the team and even the lives of others, even if she doesn't outright say it.
Okay. There's a lot to unearth with the not-so-subtle hints at Peter/Nebula. First off, it's obvious in this movie and even in the Christmas special that Nebula's been looking after Peter. But the fact that she would take him home whenever he was totally wasted and put him to bed, making sure he was comfortable? And when Gamora was going to hurt Peter out of frustration and Nebula jumped in to stop her, practically telling her to back off? And that when Gamora suggested that the woman Peter's describing, the one that he's fallen in love with because she's grown from being ruthless to being caring, is Nebula, and Peter started looking at her differently? Bruh. I don't know what they're playing at here, but alright. I'm onboard.
Speaking of Peter, I like that he decided to come back home to Earth to reach out to his grandfather. I'd like to think he got a little help from the Avengers to get to that doorstep (info, means of transpo, things like that). It was great to see him in a normal life setting in the post-credit, too, where he's just eating cereal, talking smack about someone behind their back lol

the interviewer had just finished asking ushijima how he felt about being a member of the national team for the olympics and he answered honestly. he was honored and it was a dream come true. it was that simple. the woman then began to pivot to more personal questions. “so fans really want to know how your love life is going? ever since the news dropped about you and actor, y/n. what can you tell us about your relationship? are the two of you dating?” the brown haired male furrows his brows together at the question.
“y/n?” he repeated your name with a softness in his tone.”they’re great, really.” he begins as he looks at the reporter, crossing his arms. “they’re really kind, talented, and i love everything they do.” he was starting to ramble, which was unusual for him. he usually liked to keep his answers brief and minimal. but if the topic was you? he could get really talkative. “they’re the he most talented person i know. i admire them a lot. no we’re not dating though, just…friends.” not too much though, they’re were still thinks he’d like to keep private so he cut the interview a bit short. did he even answer the question properly.
that part of the interview was clipped several times though and began trending in twitter. it didn’t take long before it got to you and you smiled at the video before sending your friend a text.
you: I’m glad to hear you love everything i do waka <3
wakatoshi: that interview wasn’t even 20 minutes ago. how did they get it posted so fast?
you giggled at the text briefly as you wrapped up your conversation as you were on a press tour for your new movie. meaning you had to get interviewed too.
when you got into the dark room with posters of your movie you introduced yourself to the interviewer and got mic’d up.
“it’s so nice to meet you, i’ve watched your interviews before.” you told the lady fondly, she told you how honored she was and that she was a huge fan to which you thanked her.
a few minutes passed before she began talking to the camera, summarizing the plot to your new movie and then introducing you. you did the same old “thanks for having me” speech and the interviewer began t ask questions.
“if it’s okay with you i’m going to start with a question not relating to the film because i feel like i might get dragged for not asking,” she began and you nodded for her to continue. “just a bit ago an interview of ushijima wakatoshi’s interviews was trending on twitter as he briefly talked about you, did you see that?” you smiled at the question which you were actually looking forward too.
“yeah i did see that, i actually texted him right after i saw it.” you replied, your smile never wavering. “so from your perspective, what can you tell us about your relationship?”
“it’s great, he’s great. i feel like we balance each other out so well and he’s really is the sweetest guy there is. i love him a lot, and the way he does everything. he’s constantly checking up on me when we’re away from each other and i really appreciate it.” you go on for another minute about your boyfriend. “he’s a really caring guy and i think everyone should have a wakatoshi in their life.” you finished your smile growing softer at the thought of your friend.
your eyes met with the interviewers and you saw how here eyes had softened and she her smile mirrored yours. “you two seem to be in love.” she noted as she moved quickly onto questions about the movie.
and for a moment you spaced out and thought about it.

Okay, I’ve been dying to write something so I made something for wenclair. But I also promised myself to make it short so, we’ll see if I keep that promise lmaoooo
So without further ado, here’s Wednesday’s first time cuddling in front of others.
Wednesday could feel the room around her getting louder, despite the volume of the people she reluctantly calls “friends” not changing much. Enid gave her a very long-winded explanation about this phenomena after it occurred during one of the group’s usual movie nights, though summarized it down to a mix of overstimulation, social anxiety, and daily stress.
And though Wednesday was very slightly offended by the implication that she was in some way “weak”, she learned to accept this and understand that her girlfriend only sought to help her, not insult her. Throughout the two years they’ve known each other, Wednesday has come to find that Enid truly does want the best for her, though is somehow yet to entirely believe that she is the best for Wednesday.
And so, Wednesday knew quickly that she was soon going to reach the point of overstimulation, but she was still not prepared to ask anyone for help with it.
Thankfully, her girlfriend had become more than well attuned to her mood and often knew how Wednesday was feeling before she did. Enid scoots closer to the short girl and gently grasps one of her hands, garnering Wednesday’s attention. The girl startles slightly, but settles as Enid carefully scoots even closer. Mindlessly, Wednesday leans into the werewolf’s warmth, not even registering what she’s doing and where she is. The vulnerability that Enid pulls out of her should terrify Wednesday, but instead, it just makes her feel at home. Like her heart is closer to whole.
And yet, there’s still something missing.
There’s still a part of Wednesday holding back. Speaking plainly, she’s still afraid. The trust of Wednesday Addams is not something easily earned, even less so after the events of last year. Yet somehow, Enid Sinclair has managed to sneak her way through Wednesday’s toughest barriers and highest walls and straight into her heart and has found that it’s not so cold and black as she’d like everyone to believe.
So why? Why can’t she let this final barrier down? Let Enid in fully the way she desperately desires to have her?
Fear. Plain and simple.
But as Wednesday looks into Enid’s eyes, the fear melts away. She looks around at the rest of the Nightshades and can clearly tell that they’re all pretending not to be watching them, they’re all surprisingly terrible liars considering they’re supposed to be part of a secret society. But Wednesday doesn’t quite care now. When Enid pats her own lap invitingly, Wednesday barely spares a second thought before sitting across it. Enid hums satisfied and wraps her arms around Wednesday tightly in her excitement. Wednesday groans annoyedly of course but does nothing to signal Enid to let go, which Enid accepts as the closest to a “please never let go” as she’s gonna get from the small raven.
Instead, Wednesday curls up closer to the werewolf, as close as she can get without literally merging herself with Enid. (Something she’s definitely not considered, she swears, Enid) And the two girls cuddle tightly for the rest of the night, with Enid even falling asleep with the raven in her arms, still not quite comfortable enough with the others to feel safe falling asleep around them. In due time, though. She’ll find that they all care about her and want to keep her safe as well.

I can't stop thinking about how well they portrayed Louis in the show. I think the change in race also really helped solidify the "vampire with a human soul" part of his character. Bare with me for what I mean by this; a lot of readers of the book tend to "not get Louis" and this was especially true of the movie, even AR said where it just seems like Louis is being annoying and whiny, go be a fun vampire. But Louis main conflict is that becoming a vampire changed nothing about him internally. The issues he has, primarily a concern with consumption and damnation don't go away. Louis is afraid of sin and also his own desires for indulgence. To some readers this may seem abstract, but they are often clear metaphors for being gay or alcoholism, Louis is very concerned with regulation, and not because he has any issues with drinking blood but more with how he is judged. He is very concerned about being seen as a monster (see Babette and portrait painter scenes). His big fight with Paul is also about Paul telling Louis that their family wasn't being holy enough. You can quickly see how Paul saying that they need to change their entire lifestyle is a judgement on Louis, the head of the household. Louis also said that he didn't want to believe his brother could have been visited by saints, bc it would be proof his brother is somehow a better person than him. Louis's internal conflict is often easily summarized by his Catholic guilt, which again can be abstract to audiences who have never experienced internalized homophobia or just a large sense of shame/feeling you are being watched
Anyways, why is the change in race smart, it's another way we can see Louis continues to be human governed by human rules, despite being a vampire. We can see it very clearly in how he is treated by society in the show, he is still treated as "lesser". Lestat thinks Louis should be above such things because he is a vampire, and while being gay and being an alcoholic are to some degree things you can hide, Louis's race is not. The opera being the last scene in Ep 2 where the schism between Louis and Lestat begins to get worse, is also where Louis has to act like Lestat's valet in public. If they were both gay white men they could at least act as equals, friends business partners, whatever. But even Lestat "we are above society" has to go through with this act but is notably not upset by it while Louis is. So to audiences that didn't get his issues, Louis desire to basically just be "normal", not an alcoholic, not of a sexuality that would be remarked upon, (while both real these two in the books are not shown overtly and exist in Louis's fear of damnation, which is still fear of judgement by others, but it isn't something that has a scene of a random accosting him in the street, it's more a persistent fear in his head, in the show they showed both these more overtly in the confession scene and the police officers in their home) not of a race treated as inferior, not having to act up his masculinity, by mixing all of those together at least one should make you GET it. I think even Jacob Anderson said it in the podcast that Louis really just wants to have a domestic family life like anyone else, and in the book while it is glossed over Louis says the time he spent being happy was that domestic family life. He just wants to be loved and not judged
In a lot of ways vampirism should suit Louis, and the book IWTV often romanticizes Louis pouncing on his prey from dark corners of the street. And that is what fits Louis the best, the desire to be left alone to be himself

Star vehicles for musicians are hardly a rarity in Hollywood—after all, creatively bankrupt studio executives are perfectly willing to exploit pretty much any intellectual property that might be marketable, artistic integrity be damned—but even within that niche genre, Head stands out. Whereas A Hard Day’s Night (The Beatles) and True Stories (Talking Heads frontman David Byrne) are ultimately sincere and earnest despite their surface-level whimsy, the motion picture “adaptation”—more like antithesis!—of popular sitcom The Monkees is deeply cynical beneath its absurdist humor and psychedelic visuals, mercilessly deconstructing the superficiality of the entertainment industry, the elusive (and illusive) nature of the American Dream, and the manufactured public image of the band around which it revolves (exemplified by such sanitized, inoffensive lyrics as, “We’re too busy singing to put anybody down”).
The satire is as caustic as it is deliberately unsubtle. In an early scene, Micky Dolenz stumbles across a Coca-Cola vending machine in the middle of a barren desert—a condemnation of rampant commercialism and mindless consumerism that is subsequently reinforced by a rapidly edited montage of roadside billboard advertisements. Later, Peter Tork briefly breaks character mid-take to fret about how slapping a woman, even within the context of his work as an actor, might damage his reputation (“The kids won’t dig it, man!” he complains to the indifferent director)—lampooning the inherent egotism of celebrity. In the movie’s most scathing sequence, a concert is intercut with archival footage of the Vietnam War; as the performance ends, the frenzied audience storms the stage and literally tears the group apart—exposing them as nothing more than hollow mannequins. The medium itself can barely contain the filmmakers’ moral outrage: metafictional conflicts frequently disrupt the narrative; flashbacks within interludes within digressions overlap and interweave, making the “plot” borderline indecipherable. It can only be summarized in terms of its individual episodes and the loose thematic associations between them—which is akin to trying to explain a fever dream (or a drug-induced hallucination) to your pet cat.

Featuring cameo appearances by Jack Nicholson, Frank Zappa, and Timothy Carey and punctuated by stylistic flourishes that anticipate such cinematic classics as Raging Bull and Skyfall (no, seriously), Head is a fascinating countercultural artifact. Even amongst its New Wave contemporaries, it remains defiantly unconventional, incomprehensible, and unclassifiable; it must be experienced firsthand to be properly understood—though your mileage may vary in that regard.

"I'm Sorry. / For what?"
[Johnny’s POV]
When he asked me to talk to him while he showered, I was slightly confused. Given, he hadn't said it verbally, I still followed like a dog on a leash. I've learned when it's hard for him to speak his mind, he lets me in, tells me without letting it out for anyone else to hear. Him not being surprised I followed gave me the reassurance I wasn't just hearing things. It was strange, today, that is. I've been watching him closely the past few days, all of which progressively got more and more worrying. He seemed dissociated, like nothing he did was registering in his mind. Of course, I've tried to talk to him about it, but he dismissed my concern. He's a closed guy when it comes to himself, I don't mind that, but I itch to know what's on his mind. The times he lets me in, tells me things he wouldn't say out loud, it's quiet. Way too quiet. For someone who appears confused and detached from reality, his mind is silent. It scares me.
It took him ten minutes to even get the shower going. I sat silently, waiting for him to ask for help, but he didn't. Not even mentally. His hands gripped the marble counter, his head hung low, he looked tired and lost. I wanted to help, I really did, but he never let me. I mean sure, he's been vulnerable around me, but he's never actually searched for my comfort, my aid. He feels it's just pity, something he can't rely on, he's afraid to try. I get it, really. I respect his way of doing things. That's why I sat there, only moving when he asked for my help, which never came.
Behind the curtain I sat, silent, trying to think of something to say. What made it hard was my want to confront him about his empty mind. It bothered me. A soft and confused call of my name took my attention before I could accidentally speak my mind.

I talked about the last movie I watched. A few hours prior to him entering my humble abode, I had watched a movie, nothing special, but interesting enough for me to pick apart and describe, to give him something to think about in that desolate mind of his.
Usually his showers are short and to the point. I hadn't realized how long we'd been sitting there until I finished summarizing every scene of the movie I could remember.
At some point, he stopped responding. I was unaware, having been caught up in overanalyzing each scene, explaining every detail I could. I gently spoke, his name leaving my lips like a question I didn't know the answer to. It felt like time stopped, like I was unable to proceed, to know if he's even alive in there. My hand reached for the curtain slowly, to offer my hand.
There was no response to any of my actions. The splattering of the water raining from the shower head spoke back, not him. There was a change in how it landed on the floor. I called for him one more time, begging for a response. 
Every time he gets in my head, it catches me off guard. What I heard wasn't exactly clear, but I heard enough to respond. I had asked him through my thoughts if he needed my help. For the first time in days, he said yes. Nothing more was said, and frankly nothing more needed to be said. I stood from my spot behind the curtain and stepped to the other side.
I'm not fond of wet clothing sticking to my skin, but for him, I'm willing to put my comfort aside.

The shower was a lot smaller than I'd like, given I had just moved into this new place, had to find something new after losing it all right? I started saving up to get this bathroom redone, maybe get a fancier shower, but that's besides the point.
The water had turned cold, and he just stood there, hugging himself. Admittedly, it was strange, but who am I to judge.
I asked him what he needed help with, what I could do for him, but he didn't respond. His face said enough.
I wasn't exactly sure what to do or what to say to him. My hand moved on its own in a poor attempt to shield him from the cold of the shower, hovering just barely over his shoulder. He didn't move. It felt awkward, I won't lie.
The moment his face contorted, pain making itself known, I brought him towards me. He was tense against my shoulder, his hands clinging to his arms. I still never had my answer to what this was about, he never told me. I know he's in some sort of pain, but how am I supposed to help when I don't even know what's bothering him? Was it his eyes? Does he just have a horrible headache? Is it-
My thoughts stopped the second he entered my mind. Everything I was thinking was shoved out, his thoughts pouring in. I felt my body tense as I heard everything. There was no clear answer. For once his mind was louder than mine.

In my own way, I would call it a headache, but maybe that's because my head began to pound trying to understand what was wrong.
I tried to break through the mess with my own loud thoughts, fortunately they were louder than his. The battle in our shared mind continued, but his arms relaxed enough to wrap around my shoulders.
At some point I'd lost control of what to do, my body just kind of planted there for him to seek comfort in. This part began to blur together for me. The only part that made it through was the fact that I had started crying. My body didn't move, and yet my eyes cried. I didn't get it, I wish I didn't get it.
My eyes cried the tears he couldn't.
He shared his thoughts with me, how he felt, so I could cry for him.
What a horrible thing to be aware of.
I remember his body shaking against mine, how he sounded like he was the one crying, but he wasn't.
It was a strange connection, yet disconnection. His tears, my eyes. It was wild, to say the least.
Having touched my face in response to these tears, I leaned forward just enough to turn the shower off. It gave way to the sound of his shallow breaths. My hand returned to him, to provide warmth after being pelted with the cold for way too long.

I wanted to get him out of there, to give him clothes to dress himself, but he didn't move when I tried. Pulling him slightly in any direction blurred my eyes with more tears. I took that as his way of telling me to just stay there with him, to not leave him by himself. Losing contact with me was the last thing he needed at that point in time.
If you asked me how long we stood there, I wouldn't be able to give you a time. My legs were numb from not moving, and his skin was relatively dry. The shaking against my chest had stopped, but the pain of racing thoughts was still in the back of my mind. The first word he said out loud after entering this room was a raspy, "sorry," before he cleared his throat.
It hurt to hear him say that. There was no reason for it, yet he still felt the need to say it. I hated that.
He hesitantly let go of me, hands going to find their way back to his own arms. Before he could hug himself, I took his hands, his fingers ever so slightly shaking as if he was trying to hide it.
He kept his face angled down, avoiding my eyes. He hated it when I stared at him, especially in times like this. It always felt like pity to him. Even if he couldn't see my face, he could always feel it, my gaze.
My thumbs brushed over his tattooed knuckles. I tried to tell him there was no need for apologies, no reason to hide anything, he was allowed to be vulnerable here, as much as he hates it.

I watched his lip twitch before my sight was clouded again with his tears. I had assumed he kept doing this to show he appreciated my words without actually telling me. To let me know how he felt since it's so hard to tell me himself. Yet at the same time, that's exactly what he was apologizing for. For telling me, showing me, how he felt.
It became clear when he pulled away from my grasp, uttering a quiet "sorry," once more.
He stepped out of the shower and into the main area of the bathroom, quickly finding the clothes he left on the counter. Once dressed, he held his hand out for me to take. I took it, of course, and allowed him to lead me to my bedroom.
I don't know why he did it, but with little time in between actions, he grabbed Sento and began searching for clothes in my closet. I completely forgot about my clothes being damp until he placed the newly found clothes on the bed and told me to strip. Instinctively I wanted to make a joke out of it, but reading the room made me aware that wasn't the right response.
He turned his back to me, gently placing Sento on the stand I had for it on the dresser. I wanted to question him, to ask if he was alright, but instead I kept it to myself and followed his orders.
Now newly dressed, I found myself behind him, my arms snaking around his waist. He flinched slightly at the sudden contact, but found himself melting into it as always.
What bothered me about it was the fact he didn't smile.
He always smiled when I did that.
My own smile faded as quick as it had appeared.
His hand pinched the bridge of his nose, almost in frustration it seemed. I opened my mouth to question, but he spoke first.
"I'm sorry," was all he said.
Again with this horrid word.
I wished he'd stop saying it.
There was no need for such a phrase.
"For what," is all I replied.
I wanted to let him talk on his own, to not bombard him with my concerns, of which he knew I had.
It took him a few minutes before finally telling me the truth.
Finally I had an answer.
And finally, I knew how to help him.

My first pride month (sorry, there's a lot text here)

Last October, I started questioning my sexuality. I was (and still am, really) an insecure person. So when I started questioning that particular aspect of my personality, accompanying thoughts began to creep in: "Seriously? You are already 20! You never questioned yourself before, but right now decided to? Why? Got bored because of the large amount of free time? Have you forgotten, that you study at the university?! You must focus your thought on this, not that! Why don't you get back to the box, where you exist as a standard girl, who is confident at least in some parts of her identity? Where everything is more simple."
Summarize of my personal experience:
I got interested in R-rated content only because I thought that I was lagging behind the others: "Okay, my classmates got interested into all of this stuff 2 years ago. I guess I should too. That's what teens usually do, right?"
I had crushes (on fictional characters, celebrities and a few classmates), but it was more like an admiration, appreciation of their aesthetic beauty (like a sculpture or a painting) or love for their personality. And I never wanted to "bone" them. Seeing an image of a favourite character on a dakimakura was feeling like: "Oh, okay. I can see the creator's train of thoughts. I appreciate the quality of work. I don't mind other people wanting to buy something like that. But it's not something I would like to have. Seeing a character half-naked seems like I'm violating their personal space. Too intimate. I would rather have a pin or a poster." I am more into fluff. Also like the idea of being buddies with the favourite character and being happy for their happiness with someone else.
When I became an adult, I understood, that I never want to act flirty around guys, or anyone really. For me it feels out of character. And never want my body to be sexualized. Icky.
My view on relationship was either a "hopeless romantic" one, or a "trying to logically or mathematically figure out how relationship work" one. It took me time to believe that two people can barely know one another to "jump right to action" and/or to start dating. I saw that in movies, read about that in book, heard about that in real life, but couldn't believe it or accept it. Because I always thought that choosing a partner takes time and "the thing" is one of the ways to show them your love for them. Like a catharsis, a quintessence of love. Something special for someone special (I'm and idiot, I know).
However, I always saw these things as a prove that I just have a childish outlook on life. That I'm just a dumb kid, who tries to understand the world of adults. I wanted to understand, why I felt that my experience differed from the people who surrounded me; but I couldn't identify myself as ace because back then I knew only about demi and grey. I didn't know that this spectrum has more labels.
I've finally found the answer to my question. It feels releaving and scary at the same time. And yet I feel happy.
P.S. I want to say "thank you" to two of my friends in real life, who supported me, after I came out to them.

So yesterday I saw Inside Out 2 in the theaters. Gotta say, I left quite conflicted. The film itself is good, pretty darn good, in fact. But all my thoughts about it that aren't just "the animation is purty", or "it made me laugh once or twice", were largely negative? It is decidedly, I dare say objectively worse than the first in most respects. This film gives the established characters much less to do that aren't Joy, and the new emotions are wafer-thin that aren't Anxiety. It isn't nearly as funny or as emotionally impactful as the first. If you're expecting any plot beat to hit as hard as Bing-Bong from the first, curb your expectations.
The old characters who aren't Joy aren't given anything interesting to work with. The new (non-emotion) characters are mostly bland and undercooked. One of these characters just plain disappears from the movie completely, never to be seen again, and it's so ODD. It's a kind of narrative sloppiness you usually dont get from animated films from Disney specifically.
And then there's the new emotions, most of whom are wafer-thin and barely even characters. Anxiety being the main antagonist is given dimension and nuance almost rivaling Joy, but Ennui? A one-note joke character. It's funny because Ennui is a big word so Joy calls her "Ui-Ui" instead. Embarrassment has a bit of nuance being the one emotion from the new batch to be friendly towards the older emotions, specifically Sadness, but otherwise again his whole bit can be summarized as: Ha Ha, Big Guy Be Bashful, Please Laugh. There's no spin on the joke. It's just that ancient moth-bitten joke, again. But Envy is I think the worst of the bunch. The character does nothing throughout the film. All they do is cheer on Anxiety. They don't even really act envious which is really really odd? You'd think they could be a twist baddie - where like Envy wants to take the controls away from Anxiety and run the show herself. This is one time that tired Disney trope of the twist villain could've worked. But THEN we wouldn't have the seemingly mandatory now Realistic Panic Attack Scene, so, this character just Exists. A vestigial character that adds nothing, does nothing - it just Is. Criminal waste of a talent like Ayo Edebiri. Darn shame. Maybe in the third one you'll get to do something.
The film tries to follow in the footsteps of Turning Red, in regards of being a analysis of life as a child entering puberty, and it's a wet fart in the wind compared to what Turning Red did. It doesn't have the honesty, the heart, the integrity - it's toothless. It's too generic to be of any use to someone in the same position as Riley in the real world.
But this isn't why I'm writing this. No. There's a specific scene in the movie that just hasn't left my head since I saw the movie, and I have to get my thoughts written down and out there so I can stop thinking about this already.
Minor unimportant spoiler here. So in one scene, Anxiety is compelling a team representing the imagination, if I recall correctly? Anyway, she's compelling the imagination - represented like animators working on animation - to draw up as many scenarios as possible that affirm their paranoia. Joy and Gang enter, and stealthily start drawing up potentially positive outcomes, upsetting Anxiety. Joy gives a rousing speech about how they should draw the things they genuinely believe in, and not let Anxiety push them around, culminating in a chair being thrown at the Apple commercial Big Brother monitor Anxiety is speaking to them through. The mind cops show up, Anger immediately tries to pummel them (based,) and the gang is forced to run away.
To me, this is yet another in a long line of Disney not so subtly trying to control or manipulate discourse through their art / product. Now, an important disclaimer: Of course, all art is trying to say something to the audience - at least any art worth its salt does. But this isn't any one artist's messaging; this is the Walt Disney Corporation's messaging, to my thinking. The difference should be stark between the messaging of a lone human being and a monolithic megacorp's executive staff. Be aware: this is my read. If you don't see what I see, cool and fine. Just keep an open mind.
This sequence has no bearing on the rest of the story. It's a digression that only exists for the sake of the message contained within. It obviously is addressed partially to Disney animators. Disney is acknowledging they've been overworked before, and it gives them the false hope they have a voice within the company, that they can defy their boss and make a stand. They can draw what they want! They can say no! This is, of course, nonsense. Disney does not support this. If their workforce acted out like this, they would all be fired, and Disney wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep over it. I feel like it's a message to the audience as well - a virtue signal to give the dullard audiences the impression they're Good Guys when they most definitely are not that. And I feel it's sending another message to both animators and audience - the solution isn't actually changing anything. The bad leader is calmed down, put back in their place within the system, and the old leader restored. This kind of messaging is mind poison to a susceptible mind, young or old. You dont change anything. Only the leaders can fix the problem with leadership, and the solution is simply to get the Right Leaders in charge again, for everybody to reconcile their differences. I see Anxiety as the Republican Party in the eyes of the executives / writers and directors - mentally unstable, but well-meaning. A vital component to the functioning of the Body, but one that needs to be kept pacified or it will run out of control and cause damage; try to dominate the Body and cast out the people who know what they're doing. Anxiety is, to my thinking, conservatism in the eyes of the team / the executives. You could extrapolate extrapolate it out so that Anxiety is literally Donald Trump. Admittedly the evidence is slim. The domineering (orange) authoritarian who monopolizes the power around themselves. Envy is the mindless sycophant who blindly agrees to everything Anxiety says - the Marjorie Taylor Greenes, the Ted Cruzes, the Lindsay Grahams. Ennui holds the controls too, but does nothing with them beyond introducing sarcasm to Riley's mindscape. Ennui is the passive fool who sees everything going down and just Does Not Care enough to do anything to stop it. And Embarrasment, in the eyes of the team, is the Good One who is doing good behind the scenes, helping Sadness. The liberal image of the ideal Republican. This is, I admit, a major stretch, and it's ultimately just my read. But I don't think I'm completely off base here.
Uhh, so yeah. Not Pixar's best, and not really spectacularly bad in a way that's at least memorable like Cars 2 or Good Dinosaur. No, it's just another Pixar movie. And you know? I almost think that's worse than if it were a spectacular failure. Cars 2, Good Dinosaur, they make me really stop and think. They're fascinating. Inside Out 2 isn't interesting. It's emblematic of the continued downward spiral of Pixar into becoming an empty shell, fully filled by Disney.
But hey it played the Triple-Dent Gum jingle again and Anger hates cops so 8/10

NICKNAMES: my sister calls me things like monkey and squishy but my actual nickname is just the first letter of my actual name
HEIGHT: at least 5'3", i haven't measured in a while but my best friend is 5'2" and a half and i'm visibly taller than her (i'm very short though so yeah probably just barely 5'3")
LAST THING I GOOGLED: invincible (i saw a post on here about steven yeun being in this show so i looked it up)
AMOUNT OF SLEEP: around 5-7 hours on weekdays and almost 10 hours on weekends (i'm literally doing this at 1:30 am so that's not helping but i usually fall asleep at like 2 or 2:30, and then i wake up at like 8 or 9 and i just sleep into the afternoon on weekends)
DREAM JOB: it flip flops between restaurant owner and performer
FAVORITE SONG: don't really have favorites of anything but run by bts always scratches my brain (and anything from seventeen's face the sun album)

Nimona Spoilers!
If you go to the exact minute of 38:24, in the bottom right corner, you can see what I believe is, and correct me if I'm wrong, the polysexual flag.
The trans and rainbow pride flags in the background of the "sketchy part of town" scene.
It might just be me who hadn't noticed this, but the thing Bal uses to bandage Nimona's wound from the arrow is a piece of his cape that he ripped off and just, that's so freaking cute.
Nimona showing that she trusts Bal enough to tell him about her shapeshifting, contrary to the comic where, instead of just showing that it doesn't hurt/that she's used to the pain, she fakes that it hurts which, to me, shows that she still does not trusts Blackheart.
Nimona's "Look boss. You got betrayed by someone you trusted. It sucks. I get it." Hits a lot harder when you're re-watching the movie and you know about her backstory with Gloreth and how she was betrayed by her only friend.
Also, this is more related to the metro scene, but while they're talking after interrogating the squire, they pass by a sign that says "Verminator" with a dead rat face and a bunch of dead rats around it, so verminator is probably someone or something that kills vermin, such as rats/mice, and I felt like I saw that sign somewhere. Sure enough, if you look inside the metro when Nimona and Bal are entering it, you can see that same sign, and it's just funny when you think that at that moment, Nimona had shifted into a mouse.
Nimona and Am's "Arm-chopping is not a love language!" being funny little parallels.
Red, white and blue being colors we see a lot around them while Nimona and Ballister are arguing about if the government is something they should trust or not. Also, at the 43:50 mark, around the upper left corner, we see a red and white banner with two blue banners with white dots (stars?) on each side.
Also, at 43:38, when Bal turns to look at Gloreth's statue, we see the rainbow pride flag again with unicorns on each side at his upper right side, and that just made me giggle.
"You should be questioning everything right now. The will of Gloreth, the Institute, the wall. What's it all really for?" Nimona knows these things are built on lies and only exist to 'protect' everyone from her, but Bal doesn't and believes in these things because of the brainwashing. She is trying to subtly tell him "These things aren't to be trusted and you need to realize that." It is also something I address in this post. Also; "For protecting the realm." He's basically telling her, despite not knowing that's what he's kinda saying, that she is dangerous/a monster, and her answer of "Oh, you mean from villains like you? Or monsters, like me?" Hits SO MUCH HARDER when you realize that.
Am's eyes visibly stay stuck the sign of "A New Era of Heroes" with kid him and Bal when he and the Director fly in front of it.
Am's rant. It is relatable as fuck, the fact that you rant in your head but just say "I'm fine" to the people around you and keep everything bottled up (or maybe that's just me). Him being jealous of Bal's "new best friend". Him not asking for all the fame that comes from being a direct descendant of Gloreth and feeling pressured because of everyone's expectations. The "Arm-chopping is not a love langua-" is funny, but also sad when you realize the incredulous amount of guilt this poor man must have because of that moment that barely lasted a second. So that was my summarized rant about Am's internal rant.
Ambrosius feeling pressured by Gloreth's legacy and being her direct descendant (even though he doesn't voice it) and the Director literally saying "The blood of Gloreth runs through your veins." just seconds later pisses me off for some reason. Like, I know she can't just read his mind and know he feels pressured by that, but I also know she wouldn't care either way and would probably just tell him to "Stay strong" and I just-SKHFWJEFG
Nimona taking out a bunch of knights it no more than two seconds and in complete silence as well. Also, her mocking the director right after she says "Me!"
"Says the miscreant, whispering in his ear." The fuck are you doing then?
If Todd wasn't such an asshole, the movie would have ended so much fucking quicker. Like, I know I'm currently writing a story where he gets a redemption arc, but I still fucking hate him. Does that make sense? Giving a character you hate a redemption arc and making him nicer as well as giving him a love interest? I don't think it does, but oh well.
Also, if anyone would've taken a look at the "weapon" Todd shot, they would've seen it was a phone and would've maybe been like "Maybe he did have like a photo or video that proved his innocence? Just incase, we'll take both stories into consideration and question both sides, as we fucking should as the police/government."

I feel really bad saying this because I know Rise of the Guardians is dearly beloved here on tumblr but to me, this movie just feels kinda..... underwhelming.
Don't get me wrong, I want to get invested in these characters and this world—my favourite scene in the movie is when North is explaining to Jack what makes him the guardian of wonder, how he keeps that spark alive in children by doing what he does as Santa—but again, it feels like the movie is kinda holding itself back from being truly great. I think it's mostly the plot I don't vibe with? It's just kinda..... well, Pitch is there, I guess. He's..... fine? But I don't remember any of the scenes he's in, and I just don't buy him as the big threat the movie wants me to believe he is.
(also I don't think Chris Pine of all people was the best casting choice for Jack—he has the same energy as Ewan McGregor in Robots in that that is not what this character should sound like)
I think where this movie really shines is in characters and concept, it's just that the execution ended up being..... kinda lackluster. Halfway through I found myself thinking that I would like this story way more if it were a TV show, and we had individual episodes dedicated to exploring each guardian and their domain. I loved Bunny's warren and his travel-by-magic-tunnel system and that little speech he gives about being the guardian of hope—more of that, please! We barely get to see Tooth's palace before the plot catches up to it, I wouldn't mind seeing more of it! What about Sandy's domain? What did Tooth mean when she said they were all someone before they were chosen???
........writing all of this down, yeah okay I can see why this movie spawned such a dedicated fandom. I see you, I get it, I'm a sucker for filling in compelling lore gaps, too.
so..... yeah. I guess to summarize: Rise of the Guardians—a lot of fun ideas and character dynamics but a bit of a dull final product.

Well... EP 5 was depressing as fuck but the most impressive thing about it was the sound design!
The roaring applause of the cult haunted Geto for a year and the animation showed just how much at war he was with himself over it. He did his best to not waver but that PTSD Sound Attack just keeps going.
It starts in the train.

Surrounded by people, Geto holds on - ignoring that memory of the cult. But, maybe because of how similar the train sounded to the applause, the image of the cult keeps popping into his brain.

Funny enough, at this scene, the clapping of hands was absent. It was as if, the wrath was still held at bay.
But then we get into the showers, Geto is just alone with his thoughts and the roaring of the shower.

He is doing his best. "Don't waver."

But it is still there.
The sound of the water going going down the drain as he showers was a very nice touch. It was as if Geto's goodwill, patience, and mental strength are being washed away as well.

Geto tries his hardest to fight - reminding himself of his duties as a jujutsu sorcerer. Tragically it was not enough. The shower sounds transitions into the cult's applause and the ugly negative thought crystallizes finally in his mind.

Side note, the way this scene was done felt like something out of a horror movie. The slow zoom-in to his dead eyes (reminder that eyes are windows to one's soul btw) as the applause rose in volume which ended with the sharp hate-filled word "Monkeys." It's chilling.
Then next time, this transition happens was during Geto's conversation with Yuki which has another excellent use of sound and music because of how it was built up.
Going back a bit tho. Before Yuki, Geto was talking to Haibara. There was absolutely no music. What is present is just a little background noise. So, the sole focus became the conversation between the two students. Like a sponge, the tension of the scene absorbs our attention as listeners.
The silence only broke with Yuki's silliness. There was a goofy sound effect when Geto roasts her. It was a glimpse of Pre-SPV Mission Geto.
Right after that, a light chime bell like sound came in as Yuki explains her search for a permanent solution to the curse problem sorcerers fruitlessly fight a never-ending war with.

The light chime sound is sweet and nice. Geto has hope after hearing the possibility of an end to the curses. But, the chimes are running back and forth. The fast tempo created tension. Geto was thinking and listening and thinking and then
"Why not just kill all non-sorcerers?"
As soon as he says that, the music stopped and the sound of applause creeped in. It roared louder and louder until Yuki's voice could barely rise above its volume.
Geto is now stuck with the idea of killing non-sorcerers. What Yuki is saying from that point on is no longer getting through him 100%. While that is happening, only then it started raining. So, in essence, the applause started before the rain sounds came in.

At this point, the sound of rain and handclapping are indistinguishable. It fits since Geto is now in turmoil about what exactly to think and say when asked if he hates non-sorcerers.

The two sounds just slowly died down when Yuki gave Geto advice. Then, we are back to the oppressive silence again.
I could talk more about this like the fast-violin during Geto's massacre that had a "horror movie" chord prelude in the morgue, the almost "underwater" quality of the villager's voices as they spoke to him about the girls they caged, and even the upbeat OST playing during the KFC Breakup. However, this is already long enough. Maybe next time.
For now, to summarize, there is just simply great sound design in this episode.
