Currently working on a Dad Mario comic, and I wanted to share a little headcanon

Clementine would be the luckiest niece in the world. Why? Her uncle Luigi is a very talented inventor. He'd make the coolest toys for his little baby niece :] Like this little working car here

there's a commercial on the local radio station for like at&t or something but it's in collaboration with the wicked movie, so it's a dad basically being like "my whole family is obsessed with wicked, our wifi can barely handle it!" idk it's just. i'm not entirely sure what it is i feel but i just remember how i was obsessed with so many musicals (including wicked) when i was in middle school and it was considered REALLY uncool. like i was a little weirdo for it, and i was always singing and always people were like "ugh shut up already." one time i tried to show my friend "for good" when i graduated eighth grade and her boyfriend (my former friend turned fucking bully asshole) told me "no, don't corrupt her with that!" by showing it to her. which is its own thing but. i don't know it feels weird to hear on the radio someone proudly say their family is obsessed with a musical, even if it is a fake family. it's like ha. in my time i got fucking bullied for that. there is also something strange i feel regarding that specifically as it is an advertisement, which means 1) the point is to advertise the movie (and the wifi) and 2) it's socially acceptable to some level to be obsessed with something that is being hyped up like some big cultural moment.

It's the (past couple) year(s) of the magical girl!!!!! So happy that we've gotten so many new magical girl properties that aren't just remakes, Madoka-likes, and Precure (DISCLAIMER: I love most of those too!!! I just crave variety...)

Just me talking about these series under the cut:

I LOVE Magilumiere's framing of magical girls as a profession including the nitty gritty details of job searching and corporate events. I buy all the manga volumes as they come out and can't wait for season 2! (Manga spoilers: the OG Magilumi uniform is cute, but I LOVE the V2!!!)

Acro Trip is very endearing and the VAs give 110% even though the actual animation is a little limited... I'd love season 2, but I very much doubt it'll happen... I'll probably pick up the untranslated manga since it's only 5 vols.

Magical Girl Dandelion is SO PRETTY!!!! Love the dynamic of Tanpopo and Shade, esp. since I think the author confirmed it will NOT be romantic? Always interested to see more non-romance-centric shojo. The horror vibe is fun! Love when mg stuff can get a little dark without going full edgelord and losing the soul of the original concept of the genre... Waiting to see if there'll be a physical release since it's about at a volume's length now.

Princession Orchestra looks cool so far, although I have no idea what kind of tone they'll shoot for. There's kids toys, so maybe more Precure than Symphogear, but who knows? I was wondering how the unique shading style of the promo art would be translated to the actual show, and it turns out the answer is..... it's not!!! The actual designs (still very sharp imo!) are just kind of a normal anime style.

And finally, Pretty Pretty Please I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl by @kianamaiart! The concept of using magical girlhood to look at burnout and the pressure to keep at something due to "talent" is interesting to me. Maybe a little bit of a Shattered Starlight vibe?? Anyway. The artstyle is REALLY cute, and even just from what's been posted so far I love the character dynamics! Looking forward to the pilot and whatever may come after!

A bit of a strange question, but if there were any of your videos you were to "remake" today for any reason (ex: you feel like you misrepresented the original text or spread misinformation), which would it be and why? None of them is a perfectly valid answer

Again: bit of a strange question, but I've been thinking about my own creations and how I could have done so much better with some of them, but I also know that is a sign of my growth and constantly chasing "what if I did this instead" isn't always healthy for nurturing a creative mindset, and I was wondering what your opinion might be as a Creator of Things with a bit more experience than I

There's been a few trope talks where I've thought later of other angles I could've explored that might warrant sequels or part 2s, but I don't dislike any of the summaries enough to justify a rework.

I always find "I could've done this better if I made it now" to be a bit of a fallacy. I'm only better at making things now because I made all those earlier things. If I knew everything I'd learn from making a project before I started the project, it wouldn't come out the same.

I think when it comes to the "rework remake perfect" instinct, it helps to zero in on what the impulse is really grounded in. In my experience, more often than not, it's not actually about making the art better, except incidentally. It's usually about showing that you are better. It's demonstrating your competence and your higher standards and your skills, and more importantly it's overwriting the proof that you were once less than perfect. If people look at your old work and think that's all you're capable of, they'll be judging you poorly!

If that's the motivator, it's a very unhelpful one. You can't control for being harshly or incorrectly judged. It's a fruitless effort to stave off potentially upsetting outdated criticism, and it's not even going to work. Fear of critique is an unreliable and untrustworthy motivator.

If it really is about making the art itself better, perfecting your magnum opus with your newly leveled-up skills, that's a little more solid. But from where I'm standing, it's always better to use those skills to make something new instead of polishing something old. The older, unpolished work has already acquired its audience that finds it appealing for reasons that might never occur to you. Trying to bury or overwrite it just deprives that audience of the thing they like, and maybe makes them feel bad for having liked it in the first place. Also, usually when you look back on the older work, you'll conclude that the problem is everything and it'll need to be torn down and started from scratch. I know when I revisited the first three chapters of the comic, when I let my critic brain spin up, it wasn't shading or lineart I wanted to fix - it was panel composition, overall pacing, the entire structure of the chapters as a whole. I would've had to make them all over again to be happy with them, and they wouldn't be the same story by the end.

I've been thinking a lot about the Discworld through this lens lately. It ended up over 40 books long, but everyone agrees that the first two are not what you should start with, because they're the worst ones. They're entirely parodic, purely referential of at-the-time major fantasy series, and borderline mean-spirited in places. If you haven't read Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser and Dragonriders of Pern, you're not gonna understand like a full 50% of The Colour Of Magic.

It's clear that when he started in on them, Pratchett was entirely focused on taking the piss out of a genre he found mostly shallow and unimpressive. But the Discworld wouldn't leave his head, and everything he made fun of he clearly eventually found himself overthinking. He'd make little one-off jokes in the early books about Dwarves having no women and a hundred words for gold, and then twenty books later he'd have a Dwarf gender revolution make waves across the Disc, and then he'd write Thud!, a book that delves deeper into the nuances of Dwarf societal structure than Tolkien ever did.

If you look for them, there are continuity errors everywhere in Discworld. In his introductory book, Carrot defused a dwarf bar full of rowdy brawlers by guilting them all into writing to their poor lonely mothers back home. Shortly thereafter, Carrot will be outraged at the mere concept of an openly female dwarf. Pratchett even eventually wrote Thief of Time, a book that loosely explains that the Disc makes no sense because history has been broken and put back together incorrectly twice, and therefore any continuity errors are because of that.

He's the writer. He could've gone back and fixed it, edited the reprints to be less disruptively discontinuous with the later books. Instead he continuously moved forward and allowed the world he made to grow without cutting it off from its roots. And because he didn't bury his older, far worse work, we have the privilege of following the Disc's evolution from the very start, and seeing how this shallow, stock fantasy world parody became something incredibly rich and complex without ever pretending like its early installments never happened.

Anyway, that's why I think it's better to move forward. You make more good stuff that way.

What I've learned from making 2 fursuits!

I've learned a TON from the process of both of these suits, making my 2nd suit I improved on a lot of stuff I had learned from the first! Here's stuff I would've liked to know before I started either of these

For reference, the white cat suit's name is Sophie and she was made first. The blue one is Raine, and she was made second! I'll be referring to them throughout this.

I've learned nearly everything I know about sewing and these types of craft projects from making these 2 suits, I haven't had any prior experience. This is all very much advice From a beginner TO beginners, experienced makers may say some of this is wrong, this is just my lived experience written down. I figured I'd write all this now while it's fresh in my mind! When you get experienced at doing stuff, you tend to forget what problems you faced as a beginner.

Fur Bulk

Fur bulk is REAL and a MASSIVE PROBLEM when making your sculpt. Regardless of what method you use to make your base, 3D printed or foam. Depending on how short you can shave your fur, fur bulk will add about 1cm - 0.5cm of thickness to your base

Look how much her mouth closed up from the base sculpt! I ended up still loving the end result, but it was a bit unexpected. (Despite learning about fur bulk from my first suit, and ALSO testing fur bulk in Blender with a fur particle system when I was making the sculpt for this head.)

Raine's ear is an unfortunate victim of fur bulk still, but I didn't have time to remake it how I wanted it. I even tried to make it slimmer on purpose since Sophie's ear ended up so stupidly thick 😭

Seam Allowance & Stitches

(Talking PURELY about hand sewing, I've never used a sewing machine, I cannot give any advice for that)

You should be using a blanket or whip stitch for most of your fursuit, in terms of speed and seams, they are the most effective! Whip stitch for most of your face, it's going to be glued down.. so truly you just need the fabric together and not SECURE since it'll be glued. Use the blanket stitch for things like paws or stuff that's more likely to pop a seam (ears? tails? etc)

More experienced suit makers might say use blanket for everything, that may be more correct 🤷‍♀️ Whip/Blanket are nearly the same stitch, blanket is just more secure than a whip stitch, takes a little longer, and uses slightly more thread. I haven't timed other stitches, but the blanket takes me about 5 minutes per inch to do.

On Sophie, I had made up my own bizarre version of a backstitch that was stupidly strong.. but also took a million years to do. It also made my paws near IMPOSSIBLE to turn inside out. Sewing raines face together with a whip stitch was way quicker!

For your face pattern, use next to no seam allowance for the cleanest look. The areas that I added seam allowance on Raine, I really regretted the bulged out look they had. If you aren't confident in your pattern making ability, some seam allowance does give you some wiggle room in terms of how easily your pattern fits onto your base

Designing your suit for airflow

This wasn't actually a problem for me, I did this from the start. But I've worn suits that weren't designed for proper ventilation, and it really just makes suiting a very unpleasant experience. You want to have a mouth hole that is right in front of your own mouth, so you can easily get fresh air in your suit. I'm not saying you HAVE to do this, as not all designs can accommodate this, but it's absolutely something to think about for your comfort!

Another thing I've learned, is the roomier your suit is around the mouth hole, the more overall airflow you get! I tried on my friends head which I sculpted, and they printed in TPU, significantly roomier than Raine, and much more breathable! Raine is still comfortable for me to wear even masked underneath, since I made her ventilation so good!

My future suits I make, I'm going to be looking into TPU due to the sheer weight and breathability difference from my PLA suit!

Non-Fur Supplies

I highly recommend getting hand sewing needles and EVA foam at Daiso if you have one! Daiso has lots of little sewing kits, and I got both of my main needles there. The little circle disks of needles you can find at other stores didn't have needles that were the right size and shape for my hands to comfortably use. Daiso also sells EVA foam in the smaller amounts that you'd need for a suit, unlike hardware stores which usually sell giant square packs of 5

For handsewing, I noticed going for the slightly thicker thread lead to stronger seams overall.

For what you should have in a sewing kit for fursuit, here's what I have (ranked by importance)

Multiple handsewing needles you're comfortable with, just in case you lose one

Pins

Wonder clips (the little plastic rainbow clips) ABSOLUTELY necessary for suit making honestly, they work better than pins in most situations

Seam ripper

Soft measuring tape

Some generic white and/or black thread, as well as your fursuits thread

Safety pins

Overall helpful fursuit supplies

Velcro patches

Masking tape

Duck/Duct Tape

Have garbage shitty scissors, and separate scissors JUST for fabric. Your fabric scissors will remain sharp for much longer if you don't use them on other stuff. (3rd pair of scissors that's not used on tape/sticky stuff, but thread and paper also is helpful. The garbage scissors can get gunky when cutting tape, and your medium scissors remain sharp enough to easily cut other stuff)

Xacto knife + LOTS of new blades. The blades go dull FAST when cutting fur and foam. If you're having to use a lot of pressure to cut through your fur's backing, that means you need a new blade

Box cutter + LOTS of new blades for box cutter. I have a Kobalt box cutter, it's nearly as sharp as my xactos. I use it for cutting out big sections of fur and foam.

I get my eye mesh from Curlworks! I love the visibility on it ^_^

Fur Brands

In terms of my fur company quality rankings, it would be this (I've tried fur from a million different companies on my sample hunt for Raine)

1. Howl Fabrics 2. BigZFabrics 3. MofuMofu.shop

Howl overall is the most dense, relatively soft, and best to shave out of all 3. (Canfur is of very similar quality to Howl, except it has a mild crayon or carpet smell. The smell wears off completely after around 6-7 months, at least on the small sample I got)

BigZ is kind of like a middle ground, but shaves HIGHLY powdery compared to the other 2. As well as shaves a little worse/choppy compared to better quality fur.

MofuMofu is the least dense out of the 3, but I would consider the softest. Best if they have a niche color you need. The fur tends to clump together when it is shaved like sheep wool, and is less powdery than BigZ.

Random furs from etsy are usually LQ/MQ and patchy on their density, not great for shaving super short

Fur Shaving / Length

If you're going for a high quality look on your suit, you want SHORT fur for the face, full-stop. Every suit I've seen that's truly made me go WOW has always had VERY short face fur. Shorter fur shows the look of your sculpt better, instead of hiding it all behind any lumpy fur bulk or unbrushed sections. (Brushing fur doesn't last very long after a suit's been put on haha)

If you can buy your fur in shorter lengths like teddy/beaver, ABSOLUTELY do so. It'll make your shaves much shorter and cleaner. The longer your fur is, is the harder it is to get it to a "HQ" shave length. I personally couldn't get Raine as short as I wanted her to be 😩 But her colors are niche, so I couldn't locate them in shorter fur lengths

Once your suit is complete, don't be afraid to go in there with scissors and your clippers to clean up the fur+markings as well! Raine's mouth opened up a LOT more when i trimmed it down to shape with my scissors

Pattern Making

Avoid putting any seams down the middle of your face, it is noticeable! This is roughly how my pattern for Raine worked, I think the eyebrows helped disguise that horizontal middle seam really well! (the fur from the "eyebrow" piece covers the seam to the forehead piece as it is brushed over it!) I also made the nose bridge it's own piece, to utilize the visible seam to create a crease for it.

I also recommend avoid making any + shaped intersections on your seams if you can avoid it, it's really hard to sew cleanly😭 Sometimes they're unavoidable, but I try my best to avoid doing them.

Wearability

I'm not sure how much this applies to foam suits, but I really recommend using some elastic, a parachute clip, and some velcro to make an adjustable strap to keep your suit on your head! I tried to use foam on Sophie to get a snug fit, it did not work and made her struggle to stay on. The elastic strap on Raine is way better and more secure.

Misc / Random

When making your ears, you don't necessarily need to sew the minky/inner ear onto the fur parts! You can get a much flatter look on your minky if you just glue it on seperate, and have the fur not connected to it

(Specifically for beginner suit makers making personal projects) Not everything has to be perfect! No one will notice your little imperfections, and you don't have to make a nice product for a client. You can leave some things unsewn, you can have tiny bits of foam show from weird angles. You can hot glue some things instead of sewing them to save time. You can have small accidental bald spots. You can have little unsewn holes in corners if it's too hard to sew around those parts. Take it easy on yourself!

You may spring for fleece to save some money on buying minky, I honestly recommend not doing this. Minky feels significantly nicer, and minky from Howl is really not that much more than some fleece, for small pieces like inner mouths, noses, ears, etc, all you need is a "Fat Quarter" sized piece. It's more than enough! And only $6.50 (if you want fleece specifically, ignore this haha. I just regret going for fleece instead of minky on Sophie!)

Carving a foam base, to me, is the hardest part of suit making. So much so, that I never plan to do it again :P It's some people's thing, definitely not mine. If you've been frustrated with how your foam results turn out, consider 3D printing! Or buying a base from someone.

When looking for fursuit advice and tutorials, beyond the obvious places to look (matrices, youtube, google), I genuinely recommend Tiktok! A lot gets posted there for small niche problems you may have

When making a 3D printed base, do not go too thin. I'd do test prints to see what thickness feels right to you, raine was about 0.5-0.7 cm but I wish she was a bit thicker because I worry a lot about her shattering 😨

Removeable eyes are very useful, if i get hair in my face I'm able to pop out Raine's eyes to move it out of my way x)

I've finally finished it!! My Team Tre4sure Subathon AU!!

Chapter 1, here we come! And I will say, if any of these 4 are the first to go I will go mad and have the craziest ZENO flare-up you've ever seen (does anyone know ZENO remake? Please say yes). Is placing my hopes & dreams on the heads of a FOURTH of the cast a crazy thing to do? Yeah, but I'm a Danganronpa fan so it's par for the course.

Oh! I wasn't actually expecting anyone down here erm... No, no, you're welcome! Welcome!

KAI (Whaat? There's no mental instability over here!)

He doesn't seem like he's well. He's probably never heard of work-life balance before, so I totally think that he's the type of guy to have a tripod pointing directly at his bed 24/7. He records all his videos there. Great idea, Kai! I think it'll do loads to help with your mental state!! Associate your bed with work!!!!

Being on-camera 24/7 would probably ruin him. Best believe that the camera gets covered when it's time for him to sleep... It probably isn't all that healthy for him to do a subathon at all honestly. It all sets in on like day 2 and his sanity goes on a steady decline from there. He gets twitter cancelled 10 times before the subathon ends.

Once the whole passing-the-camera-to-other-ultimates thing starts, he's the one doing it the most. Like I said, bro starts trying to avoid the subathon at ALL costs it's REAAAL BAD. When he is on camera, he's either freaking out inside or actually letting the presence of the others chill him out. Kai's yapping either way, it just depends on if its normal yapping or stress yapping.

Yeah I made up some merch for him... I think he'd wear it from time to time!

The YouTube plaques in the background hahaa it's a subtle brag! But, don't some youtubers keep them in their background? Those plaques are for the 100,000 and 10,000,000 milestones.

CASSIDY (Please don't die please don't die please do-)

Here's where all the real easter eggs begin!! Her mic setup is from 3FS and her background is based off of CoryxKenshin! Two very funny youtubers you should watch!! The entire Twitch screenshot was taken from a Kai Cenat Minecraft stream and the viewer count was real! Isn't that impressive?!

Cassidy's streams would most definitely focus on her gaming prowess, so I kept her setup nice and simple. I like to believe that her desk is pretty trashy, but she probably cleans it every once in a while... Right?? RIGHT???

This subathon ends up getting to the length of around 33 days (sorry Ludwig!). They start passing the cameras off to other ultimates, playing hot potato with the stream! This subathon is dubbed "The Ultimate Twitch Stream" because of all the shenanigans.

Some of the following happen DURING the subathon: hospitalizations, breakdowns, arguments, fights, parties, a debate (a camera got forced into the hands of Damon once), a DRAG RACE (Diana gave her camera to Mark who immediately passed it on to Jett), and JEAN WHO IS CONSTANTLY GOING OUT TO SEA THE WHOLE TIME!!

They raise a lot of money for charity though :D

DIANA (She's not the mastermind JUUUST SAYING!!!)

Diana is a busy, busy girl. I'd imagine that she has to get ready + leave the stream fairly often to... Y'know... Do her job! Her Hollywood-renowned job! Chat gets used to seeing her come and go.

Her background is improvised for the stream, and her camera (sent over to her by Cassidy) constantly falls off the ledge she's got in on, but she refuses to give up on putting it there.

If she can, she'll take her camera with her to places (but with proper advice from Cassidy about safety + revealing her location). Living the streamer life is a little fun for her, but not something she'd actually wanna pursue.

She really loves talking to chat!!! Cassidy's Comrades really like Diana!! The Diana-Cassidy fan overlap is just a circle. They cheer whenever she comes back and they're so serious about it.

Fit checks. Soooooooo many fit checks.

JEAN (How is he getting INTERNET OUT THERE??)

Jean is GENUINELY out at sea for 80% of the subathon. Cassidy gave him a camera and a detailed tutorial on how to use Discord. Everything else is simply a miracle. Chat is confused. Everyone is confused. For the first 15 minutes of the stream, all anyone could hear was the sound of the waves. The others had to teach him about noise suppression. Team Tre4sure vs. The Sea...

Jean comes and goes like the waves themselves. He disappears from the stream for days at a time with no explanation. Chat is listless every time. "When will the sea return Jean to us?" they ask. "Actually, how long has it been since we've seen Jean?" they ponder. They get no answer and he pops up two days later with a smile and a live fish.

Scurvy becomes a long-running meme in Cassidy's chat after Jean spends 30 minutes giving a harrowing tale + lecture. Kai leaves halfway through and comes back with an orange. Diana leaves and comes back with an orange. Cassidy leaves and comes back with celery (no oranges).

Jean never reads chat. The other members of Team Tre4sure speak for chat when Cassidy's Comrades have questions for him (re: "Is scurvy real?"). One time, they got him to flex, which sparked a flexing competition between him and Cassidy. She suuuper lost but it was totally awesome.

He does not know personal space with the camera. Not in the slightest. Back UP, JEAN!!!

Aaand that's my AU!! (Not really ALL mine, I had a lot of help with the brainstorming, ty Nullyvoid)

Mornings with Leon... Well, first of all, I think he's a morning bird. Whether that's just his natural circadian rhythm, or something he naturally developed because of his training is up to your interpretation. But he will be up bright and early more often than not. Sometimes a bit too early, as I do think he has trouble sleeping. After all, there's a reason for those eye bags he sports in RE4R.

His morning routine is pretty cut and dry. He gets out of bed, washes his face, finishes up his morning workout, takes a quick cold shower (yes, he's crazy enough to take cold showers, he'll just shrug and say that they wake him up if you ask), and then he eats his breakfast. Which is usually something basic like quick scrambled eggs with a couple of sausages on the side. If he's feeling special, he'll go out for your classic greasy American breakfast. Sometimes he has a hair day, because of course he does.

Leon's mornings are more about efficiency than enjoyment. He just goes through the motions without much thought put into any of it. His body needs to wake up, energize and gather its strength for the day. So, he simply fulfills these requirements. He treats his body as a tool to be taken care of, and it's blatantly obvious to see when you can actually observe him going through his routine in front of you.

But it's different when he has someone to spend his mornings with.

While he will still wake up at ungodly hours, he won't be getting out of bed as soon as his eyes crack open. Unless he is called in to show up somewhere, he'll stay in bed for a couple of hours more. Mostly just enjoying the feeling of having you there beside him, breathing and relaxed. Even if you're a messy sleeper who snores and drools all over. He finds it cute, if anything. He relishes these tranquil times when everything is still, everyone is asleep, and he has nothing to worry about but not waking you from your slumber. He won't wake you. Nor will he bother you too much. He might stroke his thumb over your shoulder and give you a quick kiss on the temple or two, but nothing more. He's perfectly content to just bask in your warmth like this.

Leon will still get out of bed earlier than you, though. Depending on your own circadian rhythm, of course. If you are a night owl, that's just natural. I don't think he'll be pushy about you forcing yourself to wake up earlier just for him. If anything, he likes knowing that you are nice and cozy in his bed, getting all the rest you need. He'll tuck you in, kiss your forehead, and quietly shuffle out of the bedroom.

Usually, the scent of breakfast wafting into the bedroom would be the first thing for you to wake up to. He arranges his schedule in such a way that would allow him to cook you two your breakfast by the time you usually wake up. It'll be a different breakfast from the one he has by himself. Leon is a pretty decent cook, he just doesn't really cook much for himself. But for you? You'll be getting a delicious, fulfilling, homemade breakfast whenever he is around to make it. Or lunch, if you're the type to skip it.

He likes watching you paddle out of his bedroom with your eyes still foggy from sleep, your clothes rumpled, and your hair in disarray. He always gets a warm feeling in his chest whenever he sees you like that. A reminder of simple domesticity that you give him with your love and presence. He may make fun of your bed hair, but he does it out of love!

On the other hand, if you're a morning person just like him, you just might wake up to the sight of Leon beside you, usually already awake and quietly stroking your hair. It'll be a quick, gruff 'good morning' and a nuzzle to your nose. You are both still a bit groggy, and he's not one for big and loud gestures, anyways. If you two have a day off, some morning cuddles are a great way to start the day. It's usually pretty lazy and quiet, with you both just enjoying this rare moment of serenity and basking in each other's warmth. He's pretty comfy to lay on, so you can take advantage of that.

You two will probably work out together, even though you have different sets of exercises. Or maybe not. In any case, it's a wonderful way to start the day, whether you're doing push-ups and lifting weights or just doing some gentle morning stretches next to him. That, and sometimes a joined shower afterwards. Not a cold one, this time around. In this scenario, I feel like you two would usually go out for breakfast instead. Nothing fancy, just a favorite cozy place that you two frequent.

And I do think that mornings with him can be full of intimacy, too! Usually after he returns from an assignment, when he is a little more needy than normal. Leon doesn't like waking you up... but he'll make an exception, sometimes. He's way too tired to do much when he comes home, except for quickly hitting the shower and then collapsing straight onto the bed, but once he wakes up? He wants to be with you as much as he can.

Morning sex happens pretty often like that. With him gently nuzzling you awake, just to enjoy your touch and company he missed so badly while he was away, you two being way more lovey-dovey than usual because of the time apart. Just talking in hushed whispers and relishing in shared gentle caresses here and there. Ones that eventually turn into soft kisses and then a full-on makeout session with you two pawing at each other fervently, until you both are out of breath, and you are on top of him. After his assignments, he'd much rather just not think about anything and let you take the lead.

He'll be adorably more giddy the whole day afterwards, ordering you two your favorite breakfast and spending the day lazing about together on the couch. It's kinda sweet, just how much your love and affection quite literally lights up his day.

heard rumblings of an oblivion remake. i'm not sure if that's actually substantiated, but if it is it'll be interesting to see what they do with it. part of oblivion's charm, i think, it just how busted and of its time it is. it's got that 360 near-launch look to it, that 7th gen bloomy, saturated haze, like somebody at bethesda is spit-polishing your camera in real time to keep your focus off the fact that the engine is spewing black smoke. the score is lush and soft and sweeping. oblivion has, for lack of a better term, a kind of mucilaginous quality to it, i think, but i assume part of that is the positive memories i ascribe to it through nostalgia. oblivion is bright, and dense, but there's enough in it for you to stick your hands in and gouge out something interesting yourself. if you make it cleaner, better, if you wipe the vaseline off the lens, i wonder what's left? i can't argue that they shouldn't improve things like stability, or the ai, or increase the amount of voice actors from 2 to 3, but i hope the likelihood of a quest npc saying ᶠᵃʳᵉʷᵉˡˡᵎ and then pinging straight through the wall, never to be seen again and ruining a quest you'll do 80 hours from now, is at least there. i'm looking forward to it, in any case

Shuriken hc blast bc I'm thinking about the silly guy today

Shuriken is banned from Slingshot's kitchen for multiple reasons. One of which includes attempting to use a plate like one of his shurikens and shattering it

FOOD THEIF. labels don't stop him either. Sling and Vine both have separate food hoards for their snacks because if they're left in the open Shuri will steal some. He also likes stealing stuff Sling bakes (always gets caught)

Shuriken is a very skilled liar, but only when he wants to actually lie. If it's something he doesn't consider important enough for a proper lie, it gets SUPER obvious. Because of this, Vine and Sling both think he's a bad liar

Sleeps through alarms constantly. Sometimes Vine or Sling just barge into his room if they hear an alarm going on for long enough

Dyed his scarf/hood on his own. The end result was really good! However the bathroom was hideously green and it confused the everloving shit out of Vine and Sling. He got away with it successfully

Might as well be married to his VPN. how else will he do illicit research about what rich fuck to steal from next without being caught? He also has a doc compiling every big name he's ever stolen from

His grapple hook is just a rope tied to one of his shurikens and he just has sorta insane throws that get the blade embedded in walls. It's a travesty. It'll break one day and he'll just remake it exactly the same

Shuriken is a very silly person, so when he gets serious, you know shit's fucked. He's generally very talkative and bright overall, so when he gets quiet, it's probably time to run!

Shuriken gets jokingly angry really quickly. It's not real anger--it's the type of anger you feel when someone teases your height or calls you pipsqueak. This joking anger is bright and loud and equally as funny as whatever insult was dished his way. His real anger is cold, quiet, and calculated--that of someone who knows your weaknesses, and knows how to exploit them. Being a vigilante really paid off!

Hey it's me, temple man. Today I present to you a temple dedicated to Apollo! It's a remake from a previous design, and takes more Hellenic influence than Roman in it's architecture

I once again have challenged myself with making something of monumental scale. Super fun to build, and very time consuming. Overall, I'd say it was a success, and I learned many new things about building while working on it.

As you can see, it's more Greek than Roman, which I thought would be cool to do. I also added this big dome on the top, inspired by the one in Pantheon. That means there is this spotlight inside the temple that moves as the day goes on. If you have your sun position set to zero (like the vanilla sun), it'll actually illuminate the 3 statues of Apollo I made. First the sun, then the lyre, and finally the bow.

As you can also see, I put some handy dandy Latin on the temple. I'm not the best of Latinists, but I tried writing "In dedication of Apollo and of the Gods". I couldn't find anything for ancient Greek, so apologies lol.

I also did this one with mainly vanilla blocks. One day, I'm thinking about posting this world for download, so having as little mods as possible would be preferable, to make the installation process easier.

(also, not sure who the last guy in the final picture is. He just kind of walked in here one day. Who the fuck even is Will S.? /j /ref)

The original story was about a 13 year old girl and was a horror story and not yandere, there were no romantic feelings involved at all, but if it's remade into a yandere story I will definitely up the age of Y/N, they will not be underage😅 i wrote it when I was 12 so I only wrote about people similar to me, everyone else felt so OLD

Haha thank you i have no idea really but I really miss my prepubescent stories they were so wild. I feel like the style i have now started developing when I was 15, everything before that was WILD. Makes sense? As if things connect or that it makes sense that I wrote something like that?

I can tell you that I wrote something even crazier when I was 11. I've talked about it before, but fuck is it amazing (I'm actually rewriting it now in my current style and have changed a lot) it is about a pair of twins e & j where they're grown up in a lab-type reality where E has silver blood. When the twins blod connect, they get a power I called "the super weapon," lol. The plot and characters were so complex, and I can still tell the original story as it was when I was 11. It was so interesting and extremely well thought and mature for an 11 year old. The plot connected, there were details hidden beneath the surface, body language, morally grey characters, but their actions were understood etc. And now I'm rewriting it and reliving everything again and it feels like I've come home♡ that story was the first real story I really really loved writing and develop♡♡

Ok adding on more to my ideas for a Kai-centric live action Ninjago because I have more thoughts, so here's some things that I would like to see in relation to the base plot:

As mentioned in my last post, this would be early-Ninjago based, mostly just adapting season one and the pilots. However, we're thinking about this as a two-hour movie, so it isn't going to have the time that a full season would. I'm also thinking about this as part of a duology because there is no way that (provided the first movie doesn't COMPLETELY suck) Lego won't do a sequel to capitalize on the new medium and marketability

With that being said, I would ignore the serpentine for this first live action film. The villains would be Garmadon and the skeleton army, led by Samukai (underrated villain in my books). This could also save us from some terrible CGI snakes; I think the skeleton army would translate better to live action than the serpentine would

Like I mentioned in my last post, the baseline plot would be the ninja collecting the Golden Weapons. It's a very rushed plot line in the show since it happens in the pilots, which means there's a lot of room to explore and develop it without being too much of a direct comparison to how it's done in the show. In addition, it gives a great chance to give each of the ninja their own focus, unlike the Lego Ninjago Movie which really only gives character development to Lloyd.

I'm going back and forth with this, but as of now I'm thinking that Nya does get kidnapped by the skeleton army like she does in the original pilots. However, instead of her playing the damsel in distress role like she is in the pilots, she gets more of her season one characterization and gets to go on her own subplot of breaking out of imprisonment and she's the first one to meet Lloyd

So like halfway through the movie the ninja are on their way to one of the Golden Weapons that Garmadon is about to grab and they basically run right past Nya, who's running away from a skeleton hoard that she'd managed to singlehandedly escape with a new little brother in tow.

Throughout the movie the characters are told that they have elemental powers inside of them that can be channeled by their weapons, not controlled by them. As each ninja gets their weapon they unlock their powers, and all the ninja kind of use their powers through their weapons... until the climax scene, where Kai is the first one to use his element without having to touch the sword (kind of doing the "true potential" moment without calling it that)

It would actually be kind of cool if the weapons weren't named after their elements in this version and the ninja don't find out what their element is until they get to use it for the first time. Like they go after the Golden Scythe and none of them have any clue what it'll do until Cole grabs it and then can suddenly make earthquakes. Like, theoretically if Jay had been the one to grab the Scythe, then it would have channeled his lightning and been a Scythe of Lightning... could also lead to a lot of foreshadowing about other elemental masters existing, since I don't think they had initially planned that with the first two seasons and it always made it a little weird to me that the Special Golden Weapons Of All Creation TM were tied specifically to these four random dudes. The Golden Weapons channel any element, the ninja just all have their preference of which one they use lol

we should drop some foreshadowing about the Megaweapon too, I think that would be great material for a second movie if we make collecting the Golden Weapons a big part of the first one

Having the Golden Weapon Quest TM as the central plot for the movie is also great because it gives the villain a reason to be doing something too. I'm scared of the live action movie that gets released having a one-dimensional Garmadon who just... is evil... and does evil... No. Here, he actually had a reason to be doing his evil things; he wants to remake Ninjago in his own image, and he needs the Golden Weapons to do so. Thus, collection competition.

OH and speaking of motivation, that's why I think I'd like Nya to be kidnapped in this still. It gives Kai a good reason to look at the old guy who showed up on his doorstep and said "hey want to join my super special fight club?" and say "ABSOLUTELY YES". I would love for this movie to give us a good older brother Kai to both Nya and Lloyd, so this would be a great foundational motivation to get him going along with the Plot
