Ok so I know it's weird to say but I really didn't expect Ukraine to win
And I'm glad they did
They were un my top 10 all this time and their song is good and touching
I genounely cried during their winner's performance cause even though I don't speak Ukrainian I read the translation of the lyrics a couple of times and it's like they've been embeded in me
I can really feel their love for this mother and dread that all of her life she needed to look out for them even if they didn't like it at times
There aren't a lot of songs out there that can really express familial love and this one does it perfectly. It's full of mixed emotions that all of them are powerful and consuming. And as one who knows what it's like to fear for her family's welbeing during war periods, I can get the extra meaning it has now for ukrainian people (not all of it of course, but at least a small fraction of it)
So all in all, I do think this win is not ((just)) political. It's a really powerful song. At least for me.
I do feel sad for Malik from Germany that didn't deserve to be last; his song is extremely good and he's an amazing performer, but at least he doubled the points from last year? I guess that's something???
Also I don't think the UK or Sweden were that great. Like, I don't anything against them, I just think they're too normal for esc...
But now I don't know what's next? Like are we really going to do esc in warzone? Or just hope the war will be over? Even if it will, there will be a lot to recover and it's obvious that they will need financial assistance ((and tbh I don't see any world leaders volenteering...))
I just hope that esc will be their last concern and that everyone affected will find themself safe in a place they can call home

Using the bathroom in general is a human right and should be enshrined as such and I'm not joking. Too many groups of people are denied bathroom breaks or the use of bathrooms entirely--disabled people, blue-collar workers, children, homeless people, prisoners, students, the elderly. I'm surely missing other groups. Not using the bathroom when needed can cause serious, long-term damage, not to mention death. Free, clean, accessible bathrooms should be available everywhere. It's fucking cruel to deny someone the use of the bathroom, regardless of the reasoning. I'd rather every student in the world goof off and every homeless person make a mess and every worker "steal company time" than let one person suffer because they're denied the right to fucking pee in peace.

fanfic is so good bc the premise of some genres of fic are just inherently funny. I want these two grizzled crime drama protagonists to have some fucking fun for once, so they go to a water park. I dont care how i have to logic my way into them going there i dont care who has to drag them Theyre Going

Do you guys notice how when Shawn Fain, president of the United Auto Workers union, started planning a general strike, he did it by a) targeting his messaging towards unions with the ability to safely and effectively strike in large numbers, b) laid out a clear, actionable plan for those unions to follow (setting contracts to all expire at the same time, since many unions cannot strike while under contract), c) is using union contracts to set clear, actionable demands that can be met in order to gauge success and provide an end goal, and d) started organizing FOUR YEARS before the proposed strike date to give people the chance to plan accordingly, because it takes a really freaking long time to get tens of millions of people organized?
You notice how he didn't do it by slapping a message on Twitter saying 'hey nobody go to work on Monday, that'll really show 'em'?

i have a thought about pjo that i can't quite articulate but it goes along the lines of:
athena gave annabeth as a gift to frederick because she liked his search for knowledge. in athena's eyes, any action of annabeth's reflects herself, which is why annabeth 'embarrassing' her had such strong consequences
poseidon fell in love with impertinent, stubborn sally jackson. percy wasn't a gift to her - he is a cumulation of all of her stubborn, steadfast love.
why wouldn't poseidon still love and aid percy when all of percy's insolence is why he loved sally in the first place?

Ah mmmm well
You know how in mermaid stories, the mermaid is typically the dumber one? I present to you the "and they were both scientists" plot.
Basically the concept is that mermechs and regular mechs can't talk to each other. But luckily even if they speak different languages they still use the same math~
I discovered a bunch of simpatico mer-fics. So. I wanted to do something with this concept too haha. If some physicist happens to read this - feel free to laugh at me. I know nothing about science👍
I don’t know if I’ll continue this thing. Should I. Idk. It’s midnight I might be going crazy lol. I made that cover anyway bc I love making covers hehe
