used to be world #1 figure skater but suddenly retired a few years before au starts

retired cuz he just felt like he wasnt really able to put any emotion into his skating anymore and would have really bad panic attacks whenever he would try to practice

a few years after retiring he visits v1/vichis town while on vacation

eventually becomes v1/vichis coach and they fall in love a la shitty halmark movie

v1/vichi

goes by vichi in the au (literally 1 in japanese + v cuz im bad at coming up with names lol)

gender, whats that? tends to dress masculine but is ok being referred to with whatever

was a good kid but would often skip school to wander around the town they lived in, bit whimsy

is horrible at recognising people (not a main bit really but is a little relevant)

would watch gabriel skate all the time in jr high which caused them to get into figure skating and finally pay attention to school a bit more

skip to their mid 20's and they meet gabriel by chance while he was on vacation to their hometown

they didnt realize it was him at first but v1/vichi knew theyve seen him before

they become friends and at some point they start talking about hobbies/interests where figure skatibg comes up and v1/vichi realizes who their new friend is

he dated v1/vichi on and off for a bit in jr high/high school but both decided to just be friends instead since they had different end goals in life, theyre both still super close though (how close exactly is up to your imagination wink wonk)

hes basically v1/vichis biggest wingman

One aspect of Theresa's last letter to Kal'tsit that I don't think I've seen anyone talk about yet is the fact that:

Theresa had written the letter for Kal'tsit intending for her to find them when the dust had settled, and she could reminisce in a state of peace and be comforted by her letter.

However, from Kal'tsit's 3rd file, which is set basically right after the collapse of Babel, Kal'tsit referred to several things from Theresa's letter, and in ways that are phrased very similarly to how they were phrased in the letter, strongly implying that at this point, Kal'tsit has already found Theresa's letter:

It is so incredibly sad to me that though Theresa had intended for her letter to be read in a time where things had settled down and Kal'tsit could reminisce in peace, she couldn't even have that. Instead, Kal'tsit found her letter almost immediately. She likely had what Theresa had said burdening her while she was still incredibly occupied with reforming Babel into Rhodes Island and had no time to actually process her grief or be comforted by anything in Theresa's letter.

like i know season 6 aired on 10/2/01 so technically yes but that doesnt necessarily mean it was the same day in universe. buffy came back 147 days after she died (148 the day she came back) which is a little shy of 5 months. her mom died during spring break which would be the end of march, and then things started moving pretty quickly from there. you figure that was 3ish episodes where only a couple days passed between them, then there was a break where they were trying to fall into a routine, and then 4 episodes where i think 3 days passed. so there was at least like. 10 days maybe between her mother dying and her dying, but thats literally trying to take the least. that puts us at early april, which puts us right around 9/11/01

so did she wake up post 9/11 and which is funnier?

1. she wakes up post 9/11 and is trying to figure out why people are suddenly so patriotic and talking about terrorists, struggling to figure out how everything couldve changed so much in so little time

2. she was up pre 9/11 and feels even more so like shes trapped in hell with horrible violence all around her when it happens

or 3. she wakes up on 9/11. she had her own personal 9/11 on 9/11

one of my favourite character relationship dynamics, platonic romantic or anything, is when two characters are absolutely the bestest of best friends and when one is hurt or something the other will scream and cry and wail and explode and when the other is in danger then the first one will go on some kind of silent terminator-esque rampage about it. besties (do no separate)
