he's a protector!! male lions are the protector of territory, you know!! your home... your bed... you. are his territory. and he cares very deeply about making sure you're comfortable and safe 😌 which absolutely involves laying on you like a weighed blanket... making sure to keep you in bed for lots of extra, restful sleep. grooming you with his tongue, even if he knows you don't need it (it makes you smell more like him tho <3)

So a little weird memory popped up in my head just now.

When I was in my late teens, I had to get tested to see if I had any chance to get diabetes. Since nearly every single one of my family has it.

When I got tested at the doctor's, my doctor was so confused. He said to my mother (since I couldn't be alone, my mother HAS to be there AT ALL TIMES 🙄) he said to her "this is strange, I've never seen anything like it before. She doesn't and won't have any diabetes in her life. Are you sure your family has a history of diabetes?"

My mother was enraged, she looked at him with a scowl face and said nastily "how dare you insinuate my daughter is not mine. How dare you! Of course she will get diabetes, my whole family has it. I might even get it. How dare you. You have your tests wrong. Do it again, I don't believe your incompetence".

We ended up doing multiple tests to see if I had any diabetes, cancer, heart problems. All the things my family had a history of, and I didn't have any.

After the tests were done she said to me, in the car "don't you dare question you are not a part of this family. YOU ARE a part of this family. We are blood. Therefore, you should respect that. Blood is thicker than water. God would of wanted that. If you want to go to heaven and be a model citizen like your mum. You will respect that. Do you hear me?"

I just replied "yes".

We went back to the house and me getting tested, was never brought up again.

In the future, my family would avoid anything to do with diabetes with me. Even a family friend brought it up and my family quickly changed conversation.

It was so weird. It's little things like that, that made me question "am I a part of this family?"

It's so bizarre. I don't get it.
