It’s so difficult to describe depression to someone who’s never been there, because it’s not sadness. I know sadness. Sadness is to cry and to feel. But it’s that cold absence of feeling— that really hollowed-out feeling.

The way your fellow men do or don't perceive you is an all-male issue. Setting aside the fact that the vast majority of female victims of SA indicate they'd rather receive counselling in a female-only space, there is zero evidence that trans-identified men present less of a threat to women and girls than the non-trans-identified variety. In fact, there are proportionately more trans-identified men in jail in the UK currently for sexual offences than among the general male prison population.
That statistic doesn't mean I think you personally are a predator. What it does prove is that there are at least as many predators among trans-identified men as among men who don't identify as trans.
If you and fellow trans-identified men want a space where no other men go, you're free to create one. Nobody wants you raped. Nobody wants you killed or harmed in any way. But women's spaces are for women. Your inability to grasp that you aren't entitled to those spaces because you don't 'identify' as a man is not female rape survivors' problem. Seeking to breach vulnerable women's boundaries does not mark you out as one of us. On the contrary, your arguments are typical of a certain kind of male: one who thinks the satisfaction of his own needs and desires is far more important than the harm he may be causing to women.

On January 9th, 2016, I came out as transgender to, well, everyone. In a way, it's like a second birthday that, THIS YEAR, will be celebrated with leftover Pizza for lunch! lol
That said, It's hard to process that it's ONLY been 9 years that I've been on this journey as it's hard to remember NOT ever being out. It's weird.
As such, every year at this time, I like to re-present this sort of... Finding Dee ORIGIN story! A 5 page encapsulation of the fact that, YES J.K., Trans kids DO exist and I WAS one back in the late 70s.
This year, I'm posting the snazzy color version with lovely hues by Katy Rewston from the first color collection! For those of you who have read this, I hope it's still a fun read. For those this is NEW to, I hope you stick around and enjoy the ride!

i am so fucking infuriated that the same leftists who have been posting the protocols, and reblogging news literally direct from hamas, are now acting all righteous because they get to call out j.k rowling for her latest bout of transphobic antisemitism. they feel so good that they're "standing up for victims of the holocaust", while they've spent the past six months weaponizing the holocaust to attack jews.
if you're only calling it out when the poster is a terf or right-wing bigot posting misinformation on twitter, but not when jews are being stabbed in the streets, then congratulations, your activism is worthless! you can stop trying to convince yourself you would have been against the holocaust when you've been dead fucking silent about the jews who are dying now.

I am now actually consistently seeing people talk about Neil Gaiman and J.K. Rowling in the same breath and light and it is just so fucking BATSHIT. Woman who has the wrong opinion and a history of being too mean spirited is EXACTLY the same as a serial rapist who intentionally targeted poor women with no social power. Clearly. This makes so much sense and is not heinous in nature at all. So many people were so quick to point out the meanness in Harry Potter as the proof in the pudding that HP fans were just stupid and mean and should have known Rowling's nature all along, the icing on the cake of her terfy crimes. Meanwhile, where are these accusations about the content of Gaiman's writing? Or did he toe the line of having the right opinions in public well enough that we'll skip that part this time? The character of Calliope keeps coming to mind. I suppose he's just such a good writer and ally that it cancels out the magnitude of his evil and brings him back down to being just as bad as the woman who donated so much money to women and children that she managed to slough off her billionaire status. I do not personally like her, and even though I do frequently think that she is wrong about SOME things, but I don't actually believe she's fucking evil enough to be classed with a serial rapist, and this should actually be clear to anyone with even a little sense, actually! But somehow "terf" is up there with "rapist" now, apparently.

Feminism is just fun & games to these losers. They don't give a damn about women's rights, they just want to belittle JK Rowling. How can you see the horrors these women faced and how amazing it is they were able to be helped, and just brush it off with a stupid joke?
