That your son really is that savior. So you do, you make it true, because it has to be true. You force fate. He doesn’t die. Hundreds die. Then thousands. Now millions. Your son is not only alive, but the emperor of the known universe. Worshiped like a god because you made him a god, and did it so well you convinced yourself of his divinity, his prophecy. He is near mad with every possible future laid before him, regrets and blood stain his hands. But he is alive. Wasn’t it all worth it? Was it?

interesting to me how miles' ambition was to become a scientist researching interdimensional travel. not necessarily because this is weird, but because he said 'fuck spider-man and fuck new york, i'm gonna get a degree in an entirely different state, you can survive without me'. he's more than just spider-man, in a way that isn't commonly seen. peter b doesn't have another job. when mj asks him how work was, she's referring to the spider society. jess and miguel don't have jobs. they wouldn't be able to devote so much of their time to running the place if they had jobs. the most commonly seen spider-man canon has spider-man as either a crime fighter for a career or a photographer of spider-man. basically a professional selfie-taker. not really a real job or career. just an easy way to make money. and their ambitions further than that aren't showcased. but with miles it's the opposite. he subverts expectations as spider-man. and he knows that he's more than just spider-man too
