I’ve been so obsessed with sidemen recently it’s so bad😭 specifically Tobi if I’m honest, hes literally so sweet I love him sm

anywayss I was hoping for a friends with benefits type fic w tobi, where him and reader kinda just will do whatever they feel like with eachother, whether that be cuddling, being each others plus ones to events, doing other fun things (😳). they’re basically dating at this point but neither of them have the guts to flat out say anything about it.

maybe tobi is talking with the other sidemen and casually mentions that he’s shared a couple kisses with reader (or more idk🤭) and they all encourage him to just ask her out on a real date

Prompt: since Tobi used one of his passes to be Y/ns plus one to a wedding the boys have been suspicious. Though she was already a friend of them then two seem closer than ever

Tobi sighs as he gets to the set, he hasn’t seen the boys in roughly a week as he went out with Y/n to a wedding as her plus one, his mind was full of her still.

The two were close, she held him when his mental health declined and he was feeling down, in the comfort of their little relationship.

He also held her when she was getting trolled on the internet, which was massively getting her down.

And when Tobi got a little tipsy at the sidemen 10 year party you two got frisky in a corner- ending in you going back to his hotel room with him which ended in expected sex.

When you got nominated and won an award for the female content creator of the year along with Eleanore Neale he buried his head between your thighs to congratulate you.

Also when he scored the sixth goal in the sidemen charity match- to congratulate him he got back to his hotel room when you came to speak to him, he shut the door and you instantly sunk to your knees before him.

“Well done tobi.. my way of saying well done? I’m not good with my words..” you peered up at him as you worked on his jeans.

But as he stood before you during one of your old school friends wedding in your blue thigh high dress, your beautiful smile accompanying that.

Sighing, he walked into the house for the recording and was met with a cheer.

“Tobjzl! What do we owe the pleasure!?” Ethan calls with a grin on his face.

Rolling his eyes in response and sitting down on the settee next to josh and Harry.

“Where was you last week?” JJ questions with a surprising amount of genuine confusion in his voice.

“I was at a wedding.” He replied.

“Who got married?”

“My friends friend.”

“JJ he was with Y/n the whole weekend.” Simon interjects with a wiggle of his eyebrows.

Tobi's response is a simple eye roll but as JJ laughs and Simon seems to be waiting for a confirmation or even a denial he reluctantly speaks up: "she asked me to be her plus one- Simon just called me when we was talking."

"She your girl?" Josh grins with a nudge to Tobis side.

“No.”

He wants her to be.

During the recording he checked his phone briefly and seen a message from no other than the girl he was infatuated with reading out an innocent “will you come over later?”

Meeting Josh for lunch the next day after having a night with Y/n, his mind a nice set of bliss.

The way her lips moved with his- her hands on his shoulders in a desperate way, how she whispered how much she missed h-

“Tobi, are you listening?”

“Tobi?” Josh’s voice sounds through his clouded mind.

“Yeah- sorry mate- what?”

“I was just saying how lannan was flying down soon- tobi, are you alright?” Josh’s voice masks concern.

“Yeah- I’m just a bit distracted..”

“With what?”

“… y/n.”

Josh smiles slightly. “What? Have you got a date?”

“That’s the thing- we’ve you know- but I don’t know if it’s just.. physical or she wants something- I do, I’m ready to commit but-“ he sighs.

“Have you shagged?” He urges.

“Well- yeah.”

Josh nodded slowly.

“Tobi- she initiates conversation just as you from what you say so just- ask her but make sure it’s clear of your intentions,”

“Okay- yeah, okay..”

Tobi forced the thought of you to the back of his mind as he spoke to Josh over food, nice conversations flowing.

I get a knock at my door and flat out my grey vest.

I open the door and see Tobi, a surprising factor as he normally messages me.

“Tobi! Did you leave something here or?..” I ask with a smile.

“No, no, uh can I come in?” He questions with a nervous smile, both hands behind his back.

“Yeah- course.”

I step out of the way and he exhale deeply, pulling his hands from behind his back and handing me a beautiful bouquet of light blue and pink lilies.

“Will- do you wanna go out? Properly? On a real date?” He taps his foot lightly as I look in awe at the flowers.

“Tobi- of course I will… You got me flowers?” I whisper as I feel my water line fill with tears.

“Great! And yeah I got you flowers- do you not like them?” A smile adorns his lips as he speaks, nervousness still swimming in his dark eyes.

“I- love them.. I’ve never got flower’s before..” I reply with a hint of emotion.

“A beautiful girl like you should get flowers every waking minute.” He grins softly as I hurry into my kitchen to put them in a vase.

I feel his eyes on me and as I cut the tips I turn to face him, hugging him tightly.

“You- wanna get serious? Not just.. what we do?” I ask as he squeezes me back.

“Yeah, I do, if you’re okay with that.” He murmured softly into my hair as he sways with me in his arms.

“I’m great with that.”

Ways to approach the poll if the character isn’t a royal:

assorted thoughts on: how the muses' wrap gifts based on @strangewonderful's muse question of the day

tadashi is very good at wrapping, but he rarely uses wrapping paper. more often than not, a gift from tadashi is wrapped in a paper grocery bag he deconstructed, or paper from sketches he no longer needs. he's an adamant proponent of scratch paper and having a scratch paper bin in his lab so sometimes things come from there. he always manages to make it look nice rather than last minute.

buttercup loves to throw something in a box. if she can put some confetti or pom pom type objects to fill it, all the better, but she's a box girl all the way. no box? gift right into your hand.

romeo has gotten very good at wrapping. he comes from a childhood of building theater sets and making props. he should not be underestimated with a craft. but also, his go to gift for everyone is books which makes his job very easy! he's gotten into more creative means of wrapping too. he does use the weirdest wrapping paper ever though and one year he didn't pay attention and the design was on the inside.

jennifer is decent at wrapping a gift. it is something that takes her time, so usually she will default to a bag with layers of tissue paper and a ribbon on the handle. if it's a gift for the avengers, she buys avenger themed wrapping paper. she thinks its funny. she'll try to get something very direct and on the nose for whoever she's gifting it to.

natasha uses a little bit too much tape but she gets the job done. she's not that fussy, she doesn't really care for a ribbon. if it's oddly shaped, there's more tape. her biggest struggle really is that she keeps using the little tapes that are semi transparent and don't hold anything well.

bob is... he's patient with his wrapping paper but he will fully throw a piece away if it's clear that this might be his 3rd or 4th fold of it and it's starting to get those white rubbed off design creases. it's gonna be sweet though, he likes to do a bow! he's very good at doing bow designs with it.

bradley puts it in a bag. bradley hasn't really done gifts over the years and when he does, he's putting it in a bag. no hassle.

josh needs somebody else to wrap it. if he can get someone else to wrap it he will. he thinks the best addition in consumerism has been the in store gift wrappers. that being said, he's perfectly capable of a decent wrap job.

cj is a box person. sometimes she'll add a very simple ribbon, but usually it's just a box. it's what's fast, and she really doesn't want to deal with the trials of wrapping.

donna is a very simple wrapper. she's very good at it, but she doesn't let it ruin her day. she's wrapped a lot of stuff, and she honestly thinks not everything has to be incredibly sharped and pressed. there's some homey feeling to a little bit of puff and extra love. she loves a very classic paper like a plaid or something with cute drawings

midge knows how to wrap. midge could wrap a bicycle, she could wrap a pony, she would find a way to wrap you a house. she loves a bow and she loves the holidays. the finest gift wrapping you will ever see and experience in your life will come from her.

cathy is going to show you a ribbon so masterful and then call it "just a little 'ol family trick" she knows. she's been making the same full out ribbon on gifts since she was a little girl. the wrapping is alright, but the bow is the masterpiece.

finnick: let me just say. you're lucky if it isn't handed to you wet.

buck is still watching the same youtube video on repeat. actually not the whole video, but just the same 6 seconds where he's not sure what just happened and he needs to see it more, and no it doesn't occur to him to slow down the video. the gift will be wrapped well.

bobby is CLEAN with those folds. the 118 is lined up outside his door when they need something wrapped and he takes a lot of pride in that. he might even host a little santa's workshop to teach everyone to wrap and yes he calls it that.

ellie likes to put a gift right into someone's hands. she's a little too excited about whatever she's gifting because usually she picks something so good or just so cheeky that she doesn't even want to wait through the other person unwrapping it.

elizabeth uses a box for everything. everything needs to be easy to wrap and she just won't do something odd shaped that's hard. she knows how to wrap a box though so things go in a box and she lines that with tissue paper for an added touch. then it's wrapped and it's decent!

trip... for all his engineering… theres like 6 added pieces to that thing bc he hasnt measured correctly. in fact hes so good at engineering that he was like. i fuckin got this. enjoy this surgery job of a wrap

paul tries to wrap things with wrapping paper. he really does try. it's not good though. he should stop trying. he hands the gift over and knows it's not a great job, but it's a job and it's the gift that matters and these are all things he will say to the person too.

gen goes for wrapping but no bow. he also sticks to red or gold wrapping paper usually as a preference! he's pretty good at it and when it comes to an oddly shaped object will commit to finding a way around it that still looks nice. he might do that thing where it's rolled up like a tube with a rubber band or tie on each end.

joann wraps all things with natural materials, or as close to natural as it gets with the replicators and such. she'll use a rope or a twine in place of a ribbon, but ribbons work too. she will forgo paper usually and it's just wrapped with the tie!

adira goes for a box with a ribbon! the ribbon is just your most basic kind, but really the presentation is kept absolutely simple.

spock doesn't wrap gifts usually. he's much more of a hand someone something directly kind of guy. that being said, he's been around humans who do wrap for a while and so sometimes he might put it in a very nice piece of fabric!

mark: bag alert. this one's putting it in a bag. one time, he gave a present directly in the store bag he bought it in.

farrah doesn't wrap things. she's also a put it in your hands directly sort of person, but also she doesn't tend to do big gifts. more often than not it's a small token of something and so it might go into a pouch if anything at all.

neal gives gifts that wrapping is at times not necessary for. a nice bottle of wine comes in a box. beautiful jewelry comes in a pristine box. his gifts speak for themselves. he's never wrapped anything and he might risk a paper cut if he does.

holly wraps it in tissue paper by just folding it over and over but like... sides open. it's weird. it's a mess. she also puts it in a bag.

Prompt: head cannons of the boys giving you their sweater on heather day!

Warnings: swearing, suggestive

Simon:

He was just scrolling on TikTok when he saw a boy saying “making a personalised hoodie for my girlfriend” with the song in the background

He knew you was into this kind of music and you would know what this was, he had a free evening so why wouldn’t he make a hoodie?

He got an old white sidemen hoodie and after looking on TikTok he put some of his cologne on it and got you some flowers.

“Y/n?” He called as he knocked my bedroom door.

“Yeah- one sec si!” I call as I finish doing my laces.

“Yeah?” I open the door and he has his hands behind his back.

He then gives me a bouquet of red roses and instead of paper it’s wrapped in thick fabric.

“Awe Simon.. what’s this for?” I grin as I see it’s a sidemen hoodie that smelt like him.

I think for a second before my face lights up.

“You got me a hoodie for the third of December?”

He opens his mouth but just nods.

I put the flowers down and smile.

“I saw it on TikTok and I thought-“ he’s cut off by his girlfriends lips on his.

I wrap my arms around his neck and deepen the kiss.

“This was sweet of you Simon..”

I say in a heartfelt tone.

He smiles.

“You’re welcome.”

Josh:

He’d been preparing for a while, he had got a Christmas jumper with some roses (the chocolate) that day, he had a shoot so he left it at his side of the bed.

I wake up and frown at Josh’s absence. I sit up and look to my left.

There is a folded jumper and a note on top.

“Happy 3rd of December, see you later.” It read in Josh’s handwriting.

I felt my eye well up as I see the box of chocolates under the hoodie.

Vikk:

You actually bought him on, you got him a stupid Minecraft hoodie and begged him to wear it for the sidemen reacts.

He begrudgingly did and got taken the piss out of by Harry and JJ without even getting the chance to defend himself.

Ethan:

He spoils you anyway so when he heard about the little thing he pre ordered the actual hoodie from Conan greys’ website.

He pretends like it’s not a big deal but he loved how happy you got.

“A parcels coming today- ‘s for you.” He says with a smile and a thank you as you hand him breakfast.

“Oh? And what is it?” I say with a smile as I kiss his cheek and begin eating my own food.

“Surprise.”

That left you on edge all day, the parcel came when he was doing a moresidemen video.

He hears the gasp and knows he’s about to be embarrassed.

“Ethan!” She calls with a squeal.

“Are you in trouble?” Josh asks.

“No, I’m not.”

She comes into his room and he stands up, she hugs him tightly.

“Thank you.. you are nice aren’t you?” She grins into his shoulder.

“Course I am.”

He says with his face heating up.

“You got me a real one! Oh I love you.”

I smile and kiss him for a few seconds.

I go to leave the room as he sits back down.

“Love you too..” he says as he puts his headphones back on.

I run back to him and kiss his cheek, then I leave.

Harry laughs.

“What did you do?” He says as Ethan’s face heats up.

“I got her a hoodie- it’s Uhm a day where that’s a thing? 3rd of December?” He says.

“Yeah, heather day, awe that’s nice of you Ethan.” Tobi agrees.

“You’re face is still red.” JJ comments.

Tobi:

Bro got you MATCHING.

He got you your favourite too, he got spider man matching hoodies, he got the miles morales one and you the Gwen Stacy one.

He made a sick Instagram post out of it.

I was working on a new request that had came in for my photography, I had to do a shoot for some models.

I mumbled something as I replied to the email.

“Y/n I got us something!” Tobi calls as he walks from his room.

He handed me a parcel and I opened it. I gasped slightly as he showed me his miles one.

I grinned and put mine on.

“Can we take pictures??” I grin and he nods.

“Course, was gonna ask you.”

I prop up his phone and we do a couple, one where we’re both crossing our arms and have our back to the camera, another where we’re both doing the spider man hand in front of our face, another where we was back to back and one where we both had our hoods up and we were kissing.

He posted them and captioned it: “happy heathers day 🤟🏽😝 @conangray”

When he posts them he hugs me from behind.

“Glad you like it, n/n.” He smiles and kisses my forehead.

JJ:

HE WAS CHEESY.

He got you a dragon ball hoodie that had got ‘KSI’ embedded on the sleeve.

“Y/n, I got you this for that Uhm, December day.” He calls out and hands me it.

“What? Heather day?” I say as I unfold it and smile.

“Oh! This is cool! Thank you JJ.”

I put it on the spot and see his name I grin.

“Thank you, this was sweet of you.” I smile and put both my hands on each of his knees and kiss his lips gently.

He wraps his arms around my waist.

“You’re welcome.”

Harry:

Listen, he went all out, he got one designed for you, he got it in light blue and Did everything, (your letter)+ H on the back and it said ‘I love my boyfriend’ on the chest with a smiley face on the sleeve.

“I got this- especially made for you, n/n.” He handed me the hoodie and I looked at the back first and laughed.

I looked at the front and giggled.

“I thought I’d speak your truth for you.” He says proudly.

“Thank you, Harry- is this for heather day?” I smile and pull it on.

“Course! Love you, I have to go but see you later.”

“Love you too, bye.”

I record an Instagram video of me doing a spin and I post it, tagging Harry and Conan gray for ‘happy heather day’

Agatha and the Truth of Murder (2018)

Watching Agatha and the Truth of Murder you’d never guess that 1) it debuted on TV and 2) was not endorsed by Agatha Christie’s estate. This works as a great companion piece to the author’s famous works or as a keep-you-guessing mystery on its own.

In 1926, crime writer Agatha Christie (Ruth Bradley) disappeared for 11 days. This film imagines she vanished in order to help solve a real-life murder. Mabel Rogers (Pippa HaywoodPippa Haywood) approaches Agatha. Her partner, Florence Nightingale Shore (Stacha Hicks), was bludgeoned on a train and later passed from the injuries. Under a pseudonym and false pretences, Agatha and Mabel lure the primary suspects to a remote location where they hope to prove the murderer was either Daphne Miller (Bebe Cave), whose nursing career would’ve been ruined by Florence, Randolph (Tim McInnerny), the cousin who inherited Florence’s money, Zaki Hanachi (Luke Pierre ), a soldier treated by Florence shortly before her death, Travis Pickford (Blake Harrison), the police’s prime suspect or Mrs. Pamela Rose (Samantha Spiro), the only person who knew where Florence was sitting.

Right away, the film endears you to Agatha. Her husband is having an affair and readers are calling her writing predictable. She’s a woman in a man’s world, and suffers from writer’s block. You want her to succeed, even more when you hear the details surrounding Florence’s murder. Solving the case might even be what she needs to reinvigorate her creativity. Unfortunately, she’s not a real detective; she merely writes about them. You have a feeling she’s got what it takes to crack this mystery but it’s going to be tough. As we’re reminded multiple time, this is not a “fictional case”. In a novel, you want to keep the audiences guessing by making the culprit the least likely suspect. In “real life”, the principle of Occam’s Razor usually applies, which means the murderer is most likely…

BAM! Crash! Gasp!

Just when you thought you had it figured out, Agatha and the Truth of Murder throws a wrench in the equation and piles suspense upon suspense. Now, we have to worry about Agatha’s true identity being revealed by Detective Inspector Dicks (Ralph Ineson) before the crime is solved. It’d be bad, but another incident tells us Agatha’s life may be in jeopardy too. It keeps the momentum going and gets you so wrapped up in this new business you no longer have the brainpower to figure out both what’s happening right now and the case we came here to see. Even if you do, we all know part of the fun of this kind of story is figuring out not only who, but how and why before seeing justice dispensed.

The eclectic array of characters to interrogate and cross off the list are enjoyable to see. Ruth Bradley is charismatic. You wouldn’t mind seeing her again in another similar movie as long as it’s as smart as this one. By subverting your expectations but also keeping in mind what we love about Agatha Christie’s stories, you get the best of both worlds. A little bit of Ralph Ineson goes a long way too.

While the story is set in the early 20th Century, many aspects of Agatha and the Truth of Murder are modern. The cast is enjoyable and the premise appealing, particularly if you're a fan of Agatha Christie. While the film may not blow your socks off, that’s its only flaw. (September 4, 2020)
