Just thinking how much it would suck for Lucretia when she was making the Bureau of Balance all static, if the Void Fish decided that that shit was cool and that everyone ought to know about it and just broad casted it all across the universe

Cassandra: Why do I have this random headache?
Cassandra’s girlfriend: You’re dehydrated, malnourished, over caffeinated and your sleep schedule is a mess. Yes, I wonder where this random headache is from.
Alcina: Oh, I like this one.

It’s set in precannon, around 20 years before the current TL (So like, the 90s) following Kenric and Oralies navigation of Elvish Bureaucracy, classicism and inter-species politics. Weird side effect of finding your soulmate— they can now hear your thoughts. Which is bad if you’re checking out their mom by accident:
Tumblr media
Even worse, they can break the 4th wall by interacting with your "thoughts":
Tumblr media
In the most basic of explanations, my faerytale retelling is a book that knows it's a book. It is a tangible book, written by the protagonist so that it's subject to edits happening "in real time" in the book. Because the book is (mostly) told in Rosely's perspective- i.e. through her thoughts- and Gabrielle can interact with Rosely's "thoughts", she can now just... interact with the text/ story itself, and the 4th wall doesn't apply or exist to her.

Hello there! Your jjk fix it au is a really interesting idea! Is it ok for you to tell how and why mahito became an assisted duo with shoko?
For sure! I haven't written or made any other notes on it so I'm just working from a loose idea. If someone wants to write or draw it out, go for it I suppose. (It got long, full text under the cut 😅. Tl;dr is Shibuya Incident goes not as bad as canon, Gojo snags Kenjaku and Mahito for some harebrained experiment to fix Geto and bring him back, Shoko is stuck working with Mahito because she's apparently the school's only medic. Things go better than expected.)
I'd have to re-watch the episodes to get the exact order of events but basically the AU begins around the start of the Shibuya Incident arc: the students and other sorcerers manage to catch up to Gojo and not-Geto in time to keep their teacher from being sealed. Instead, the school team is able to turn things around on the curse gang.
I imagined the turning point is that Yuji and possibly others manage to reach the station in the moments before the Prison Realm actually grabs Gojo, leaving it out in the open to be swiped and repurposed. Freed of his momentary distraction, Gojo does some quick mental math on the situation: his friend's body has been stolen - but his soul seems to be intact, the Prison Realm is within reach, as is the cursed spirit with a technique that can manipulate the body via its soul. He can work with this.
So whoever is there (probably Gojo, Yuji, and Todo?) take advantage of the stunning effect of Gojo's domain and the Prison Realm to get Kenny boxed up and grab Mahito while he's incapacitated (probably literally, since Gojo could probably safely 'touch' him with Infinity running), and drag the both of them back to the school for safekeeping.
Gojo's harebrained scheme is to surgically extract Kenjaku and use Mahito's ability to grow a working brain back into Geto's body. It's weird, but it's no worse than having to kill him all over again. Unfortunately to do this he needs to have Mahito's cooperation, which he initially does not. After some negotiation, Gojo enters into a pact with Mahito for his assistance; roughly a "Help us or we kill you" arrangement, since the school staff can guess that not-Geto was almost certainly planning to eat Mahito anyway.
Since Mahito's technique has extensive medical application, he ends up working alongside Shoko for the next little while. With supervision from Gojo at first, to ensure he behaves and to check up on Geto regularly. But the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident still needs attention so Gojo finds himself drawn away more often than not, leaving Shoko alone to deal with Mahito's shenanigans and care for a recovering Geto. Thankfully Shoko has enough experience dealing with annoying teenage boys (and Gojo) that she knows how to handle Mahito's childish temperament. She's the right mix of no-nonsense and easygoing to handle him and they eventually form a more cooperative working relationship. I imagine Mahito is one of those "problem children" that would thrive with clear instruction and strong boundaries. He'd be a good worker, he just needs someone to keep him in line.
If I do end up writing this in some capacity, my impulse right now is to make it 50% heavy SatoSugu angst, as Geto recovers in the care of his mortal enemies and the one person who never gave up on him; and 50% office comedy with Shoko and Mahito getting acclimated to one another and taking care of Geto and the rest of the cast as they heal up from the incident.

The Slate Region has a quartet of minor Legendary Pokemon known as the Beasts of Balance. They have the job of keeping Dravita and Vutren in check, while also keeping the balance of the heart and soul of both the people and pokemon of the region. One half of the quartet represents Heart, while the other is Soul.

Brawlerra
The Beast of Balance Pokemon
Ground/Fighting
Given the tile of The Blind Brawler, this Pokemon is terrifying to see in battle. It's spindly hind legs can destroy a mountain range with a single tap, it's forelegs can do seven times that. Despite it's massive size, when not fighting it is a gentle giant, often cooing over smaller Pokemon.
Brainjull
The Beast of Balance Pokemon
Psychic/Electric
Known as The First Thinker, this Pokemon spends it's days puzzling over reality. It is motionless for hours on end, quite possibly unlocking the secrets of the universe. If it ever makes a breakthrough, it will never share it's knowledge however, for it believes it is above everything else, and nothing is worth it's time.
Myrmdro
The Beast of Balance Pokemon
Bug/Water
It lives in shadows and eerily still waters and awakens at night. It follows those with turmoil in their hearts and minds, and tries to ease their suffering. It has been dubbed, The Caring Shadow because of this.
Tricceos
The Beast of Balance Pokemon
Fire/Poison
Its feathers burn with unhinged malice. All three of it's fanged mouths laugh and whisper falsehoods to those that listen. Because of it's lies and trickery, it's been called The Burning Trickster.
Brawlerra represents the Body.
Brainjull represents the Mind.
Together they represent Heart.
Tricceos represents the Light.
Myrmdro represents the Dark.
Together they represent the Soul.
All four of these Pokemon are powerful, and seen often around the region. Many a time side by side with their Keeper.
A Keeper functions similarly to the Wardens of Hisui, working alongside the pokemon for their entire life when choosen. Each Beast of Balance has a Keeper, and they would do anything to keep their Keeper safe.

What do you think will happen with Oralie in the next couple books? Do you think Sophie will totally forgive her and she’ll eventually become a sort of motherly figure? Do you think Sophie will forgive her and start working with her but she’ll never become a mother figure? Do you think Sophie will never fully forgive her but she’ll begrudgingly work with her? Or do you think she’ll become more of a villain, not in the neverseen sense but in the Cassius and Quan and Mai and Alina sense? And which do you think would work best? I’m kinda voting for the third one but that may just be me.
I'm also voting for the third one, Nonsie. I don't think Oralie is ever going to be motherly figure, she's not going to be someone Sophie goes to for moral or emotionally support to talk through her personal issues with, but I think the position Oralie holds and the connection she has with Sophie is too important for them to ignore completely.
It's been introduced from early on in the series that Sophie thought she was going to hate her biological parents, and I think the best course of action from here is to follow through on that promise. We've gotten her outburst at Oralie and the shutting her out, so it's clearly been introduced that she's upset, but I think to really push that narrative it should continue. Not that she should continue reacting this severely, but that we need to see her dislike of the situation and the betrayal of trust continue. A less trusting relationship, more business-like and professional so they get things done without having to be comfortable with each other.
With how impactful the decisions her bio parents made in choosing to help create her, I don't know if it's something Sophie will ever be able to fully get through, and if she does I don't think she'll ever be fully okay with it. Because even if she follows all of their reasoning in wanting to create a better world, in wanting a daughter, whatever their reasoning was, that doesn't change what it's done to her. That she was experimented on and that she was alone for so many years and that she's been put at the center of this conflict because of their choices. And that's not something she has to forgive when it's hurt her so much in so many ways, so I think even if she understands every aspect of their reasoning it won't be enough to make up for it.
I think that in the immediate future, we're going to see Sophie put aside the issues they have with each other--not a forgiveness, but a "we'll deal with this later"--so they can focus on the problems at hand because there's so much more than Oralie being her bio mom. That's the begrudgingly working together thing you've mentioned, which we've already started to see at the beginning of Unlocked.
And then before the end of the series, she'll let Oralie go. The pain the relationship causes her won't be worth it, and she doesn't owe Oralie anything. Oralie made her choice, and now Sophie can make hers. And I think she'll choose to move on, that there are people who care about her and that's what matters.
This could be interpreted as forgiveness; Sophie is a generally very open and forgiving character. I think it would be more of a "I'm done being angry with you because I don't want to live my life in anger" situation. It's not that she's okay with the situation, but she can't change it and she wants to live her life and be happy, so she's moving on from what/who makes her upset.
at least that's what I'm kinda expecting to happen! whether or not I'm right remains to be seen, but either way there's gonna need to be more before their story comes to a conclusion

Hi hello it’s me, Bestfictionaldivorce
I was thinking
Maybe it would be fun if we made our own Undertale Multiverse with few to no Multiversal Sanses and instead had Multiversal versions of other characters
(I’ve so far got 2 Mettatons, 2 Mad Mew Mews, 1 Flowey, 1 Toriel, 1 Muffet, and 1 Alphys that are Multiversal, most of them are all part of the same group. If you want an infodump just ask lmao)
Oh dude frick yeah! Where do we talk about it tho? (I doubt we want to keep sending asks to eachother)
Discord maybe?
(Also I have 1 Frisk, 1 Magical Human, 1 Generic Human Frisk -Finch- with Technology on their side and an Anomaly who got isekaid in a weird dating sim version of Ut -Weirdtale-)

something something lucretia literally rewriting her families stories, taking her role as the journal keeper to the next level and in the process of writing her own story taking complete ownership over everyone elses, robbing them of their autonomy. i dont think lucretia was ever the villian of balance but she was definitely the anti-hero in tht her mindset - cut everything and everyone off, go about this alone - stands in direct opposition to one of balances core themes: to embrace the bonds with the people you have around you. to let people in.
i mean balance isnt just about the seven birds right? the seven birds are only one part of the story just like the stolen century is - definitely crucial, but not where balance as a story starts. its with taako magnus and merle taking a job to find the gauntlet (and inadvertently barry too). balance literally starts when lucretias mindset of “solve this on my own” starts to shift, and even though she is still serving as “madam director” + she is still “the lonely journal keeper” in some way (not innoculating thb fully, painting the red robes as the villians, etc) she makes the choice to not go about this alone anymore. balance starts with lucretia realizing she doesnt have to be alone

I have made A Thing!
Tumblr media
Because my drawing tablet has finally bitten the dust, I’ve been doing more traditional art lately. As in, I made an entire mock-up poster/book cover for The Fenrathae Series Book 1! I plan to go over this digitally, once I get my new XPPen graphics tablet in the mail and once I get the drivers and everything sorted out.
Characters from left to right, bottom to top are as follows: Ellira Tjelzirus (chell-ZEE-russ, primary form), Kaelech Edlurios, Lerosenn Gelvertol (pronounced with a hard g, primary form), Razakia (northeastern Dronasian primary form), Original Vessel!Delros, Teldorrek (southwestern Telasjeon [tell-AH-shyonn] primary form), Luternai, Eclipsed Apprentice!Vozeo
Razakia’s appearance in this poster is how she would appear to the Dragon Elves living in northeastern Dronasi, which is also Ellira’s home region. Teldorrek’s appearance is how he would appear to the people living in southwestern Telasjea (tell-AH-shya), which is Lerosenn’s home region.
Also, Vozeo is demonstrating how Penumbrancy spells work! The vast majority of Penumbrancy spells, blessings, and curses create spinning circles of Penumbrancer’s Glyphs that rotate around the caster’s hands and also appear upon the intended target. The number of Glyph circles depends on what branch of Penumbrancy the spell/blessing/curse is from, what kind of spell is being used (Blessings and curses in the Universe of Fenrathae are very different from the blessings and curses of Earth’s folklore. Blessings in both Penumbrancy and general magic are spells that create something new or add something new to a target, while curses are spells that remove something or destroy something in a target.), and the strength of the spell in question. For example, most Toxin Penumbrancy spells have Glyph circles that only appear around the caster’s hand or hands. Which allows for a group of Penumbrancers who specialize in the Toxin Branch of Penumbrancy to set nearly undetectable traps as long as they have a clear line of sight between them and their target. Most Illusion Penumbrancy spells are similar.

It’s funny to me how we have different flavors of antagonism against Celestia: 1) we have a group of people working for a goddess that wrecks everything up in their path, 2) a very angery group that also wrecks everything up it’s the Abyss Order, what did you expect 3) and then we have (1) man who terrorizes the Abyss Order all by himself and is pretty much the only civil one of the bunch.
