silly saiou headcanon i have: whenever shuichi gets kokichi a gift he does the thing where you wrap it to look like something completely different. kokichi gets what is very obviously a tightly-wrapped chair for christmas and when he tears the paper candy comes falling out. he gets a gift shaped like a nerf gun for his birthday and it’s a hammock inside. he thinks it’s the funniest thing Ever because he was genuinely shocked the first time it happened and now shuichi can never ever stop no matter how many paper cuts he gets.

She was a bit different about getting a cat at first because of her job and sister and was afraid something bad could happen to it, but that wasn't quite the case. Though, she would do anything to make you happy, so she was content with getting a cat in the end of things.

Plus with her originally being an orphan anyway, adopting was something she always had her hopes on doing; a pet is a great way to stop!

She knew about your constant anxiety and did her best to help, but sadly with her job she couldn't be there 24/7, so she's glad you have someone to help you when she can't be there. It truly puts her worry at ease.

She grew to love the cat too, and was happy you were confident enough to bring it everywhere with you.

Though when she saw you run home crying with your kitten from school...She knew something was up and anyone who hurt you like this was going on her hitlist....But first she had to go and check on you!

You emitted sobs from your room. Your cat nudged against you, looking up at you; trying to comfort you. Normally this would help, but the issue was being laughed at for having the kitten. Since you ran home early because of the incident, your shared dorm with your girlfriend was just you and your cat since Hopes Peek was still in session. So who could this be? You slowly got up and sniffled. You tried to look sort of presentable, even though you were still very much upset. Opening the door, you looked up; it was Mukuro! Mukuro always had a very neutral expression, even when you started dating; but you could always tell her true expressions, anyway. She seemed worried, and you could figure out why. "(Y/N)? What happened...? Did you get hurt?" She questioned walking into the dorm room and lightly shutting the door behind her. Mukuro seemed extremally calm, she always did after all she deals with stressful situations being a soldier and all. Though, this calmness didn't mean she wasn't worried, she was always worried and caring about you. You busted out in tears again, jumping up and wrapping your hands around the other as you continued to cry into your girlfriends shoulder. Mukuro was a bit stunned at your sudden movement, but she hugged you back scooching over onto the ground just holding you in her arms for a minute. Your cat purrs and walks over to both of you, rubbing their face on both of you. "You don't have to tell me if you don-" Mukuro was cut off by you looking up at her and beginning to explain how you were getting bullied today and mocked for bringing your cat to school with you. "I'm so weak! I don't deserve to be an ultimate!!!" you mumbled into your lovers chest at the end of your explanation. Mukuro could only rub your back and leave a kiss on your head. "You're not weak my love, far from it. You don't deserve any of the words they dare say to you. I'll take care of them, don't worry." She said that last part more quieter than the rest. You sniffled and wiped away some tears and gave Mukuro a sweet smile, you honestly felt a lot better hearing her soothing voice ring throughout your ears. Your cat came up to you with a small meow while you petted the feline. "Thank you...I love you" you said to both your cat and your girlfriend.

The next day at Hopes Peak when you brought your cat, you were expecting the bullying to continue...Instead the kids that were making fun of you aren't anywhere to be seen. Just your girlfriend walking over to you and kissing you on the cheek as she walks you and your cat to all your classes. In reality, those kids were definitely checked off on Mukuro's hitlist.

You and Kaede both agreed to getting a cat, as it fits both your cozy lifestyles

Your panic attacks always worried her, though Kaede was amazing when it came to helping you through them; she used to have performance anxiety so she gets the feeling.

Super happy you found another great coping mechanism to use when you get all stressed out.

Since you both went to different schools, bringing your cat for comfort really helps you get through the day

Though because of that the bullying started and today you just couldn't take it anymore

So here you were on the bathroom floor next to your cat that was trying to comfort you, crying your eyes out

Kaede bent down to your level, frowning. She knew about the bullying and always tried her best to cheer you up, and most of the time it worked. This time, you seemed to be too stuck in your own head. Kaede didn't know what to do but hug you and put her hands through your hair in the hope of soothing the tears pouring out of your eyes. "I just wish I didn't have anxiety..." you mumbled in between sobs, your cat just lying on your lap, also not knowing what to do. Kaede was speechless, her mind fumbling over how to respond, but she responded in the only way she knew how: through music and song.

Kaede slowly got up from the ground your eyes tracing her movement as she went over to the other room where the piano was. You rubbed your eye and sniffled, curious on what she was about to do. Your girlfriend started playing the piano, it was your favorite song! Your cat perked up and started to trail around Kaede's feat as she started playing. You smiled getting up and wiping dried up tears, her playing always made you happy and this time...It made you confident and cared about. "Thank you Kaede." you whispered just enough for her to hear once she finished her song. She nodded in approval before giving you a peck on the cheek.

The next day at school the bullying continued, but you were no longer letting it get to you. You were confident bringing your cat with you and simply ignored those who were bothering you. You always remembered Kaede's piano playing when you were anxious about having your cat with you all the time and it truly just made you feel better. Thus, because of your ultimate pianist girlfriend; you feel much better about having your support kitty!

It was actually Hiyoko who wanted the cat in the first place since she never got to have an animal growing up

Of course you agreed, as cats are just the cutest and it would make a great addition to the family.

You always kept your anxiety pretty well hidden since that's just how you were, but you did notice when the cat was around it always helped your mind to be put at ease.

So you started carrying the little guy everywhere with you

Hiyoko didn't mind, she actually secretly thought it was so cute and was happy you both got along

You were only teased at school when Hiyoko wasn't around, since even the bullies feared to be bullied by her wrath

You never said anything as you felt it wasn't a big deal and didn't want to trouble your girlfriend

Though sometimes it was alot to handle and it stressed you out to the point you just broke down at school one day in the bathroom

Nobody but you would ever see this caring side to her, but she also didn't care if people saw it. Her focus was on you and only you. You sniffled and explained the mean things people had said to you and that it was just too much. She was surprised anyone would dare talk to you that way; you were perfect and the only person who understood her. She had a pouty face on; she was definitely not mad at you but rather at them.

"How dare those pig-faced bitches say anything mean to you? They're such losers, and how is it that they go this low? Hmph." She pouted, crossing her arms, and you giggled. The insults you thought were very creative and cute made you feel a bit better. Hiyoko smiled back at you and helped you up on the floor. Grabbing your hand, she started walking away with you before starting to speak once again. "Cm'on. I'm going to make them say sorry to you!" Your eyes widened; this is Hiyoko were talking about, so it's bound to be insults until they're crying apologies to you. Hiyoko knows how to hit all the weak spots.

You showed her the people that were being mean to you, and she crossed her arms, kimono draping. She looked pissed, and the bullies stopped in their tracks. "You pig-slut losers! You should carry a plant around with you to replace the oxygen you waste! Were you born this stupid, or did you take lessons? I’d slap you, but I don’t want to make your face look any better. Now, see that door? Say sorry and go to the other side of it." She spurted at them, and it seemed to work, as they quickly apologized to you and did as she said. Maybe they were afraid of the amount of bullying Hiyoko would have done if they didn't, as what she said was just a sample. Hiyoko pouted and then looked at you with a smile. "Now, wanna go and get candy? We can get cat treats as well!" She tilted her head as you nodded and smiled back at her.

You already had your feline friend before you started dating Fuyuhiko

It was surprising to you how gentle and caring he was towards your pet. You didn't think he liked cats but he actually really does

You never really carried your cat around before your relationship bloomed, but your anxiety started to get bad and Fuyuhiko was always at dangerous jobs so he wasn't around alot unfortunately

Though when he is around, even though he's not best with his words he gives the best physical affection that always eases your mind

Honestly people were scared to even talk to you because of your boyfriend, but those unknowing of who your boyfriend was was quick to tease and pick on you. Not a good idea on there part

You didn't want to worry Fuyuhiko with this since he has enough on his plate, so you just silently sobbed to yourself when he was away

A few tears trickled down your cheeks while you were in your shared dorm. Your boyfriend was already gone for whatever the Yakuza had going on at the moment, and he wasn't expected to be home until much later. The bullying earlier really got to you and stressed you out; you weren't sure what else to do but cry and curl up in a ball. Your cat was in the other room asleep; you didn't want even your fluffy little fur ball to see you like this. After a few moments, the door opened quietly. Usually,  you would be taking a nap at this time, so Fuyuhiko probably thought as much. When your boyfriend walked in, you tried to quickly wash away your tears, but Fuyuhiko already saw the emotional distress you were in.

His eyes widened, he crouched down to your level, and he gave you a hug. "Who the fuck did this to you? Are you hurt?" He panickily asks, trying to be as quiet as he can to not scare you or make your anxiety worse. You nodded and sniffled, afraid to talk, but you knew it would only worry your boyfriend if you didn't. You took a deep breath, looked up at Fuyuhiko, and made eye contact. Soon enough, you were crying your eyes out, explaining your situation to your beloved. Fuyuhiko's eyes turned to anger. How could someone dare even say a word to you without his permission, nevermind say something so filthy? He took a deep breath, controlling his anger so as not to take it out on you. He kisses you on the lips lightly as you melt into it. "I'll handle it; don't worry, Y/N. I fucking promise you." He whispered into your ear.

The next day, you brought your cat to school as always, expecting the bullies to come and torment you again, almost forgetting Fuyuhiko's promise, until he tapped you on the shoulder. You turned around and smiled at him, pecking his lips with a kiss. He wasn't usually at school because of his job, so it was a happy surprise. "By the way, Y/N, Peko is handling those fuckers today, so she won't be here," he whispered into your ear as your eyes widened. It was a good day to have a Yakuza boyfriend!

He says yes to whatever you want, you are his little hope bagel after all!

But.....A pet? After what happened to his dog he wasn't sure if he deserved to take care or even be around another animal; afraid his luck would do something to it

After a lot of convincing him that it'll be okay, you both agreed to get a kitten

You got a white kitten that looked very similar to Nagito in a weird way, it was comforting to think even when the short minutes when Nagito was away you still had a piece of him

So you started to bring the kitten everywhere with you!

Nagito also suffers from anxiety, so if anyone he understands it the best. He's overjoyed you found a great coping mechanism

Plus he doesn't think he's good enough to comfort you, so this also puts his mind at ease.

Nagito regularly got bullied at school, and it's usually you that would stand up from him but since you started bringing a cat with you...Things started to change

You're a really sensitive person and don't know how to deal with being picked on so you just start crying

Nagito was a clingy mess, so of course he was with you when you overheard some kids talking bad about you and your cat, and he was there when you started to tear up. Nagitos’ heart broke. How dare someone bring despair to his precious hope? You tried not to weep In front of your boyfriend, not that you were afraid to show weakness but the fact that you couldn’t stand him being a big worried mess about you. Your boyfriend stayed calm and took your hand and guided you out of the school. You didn’t ask what he was doing as you were ecstatic to leave the school and destress. Your cat was on Nagito’s shoulder, curious about how to make you feel better. You and Nagito walked to the car, Nagito in the driver’s seat and you in the passenger seat. He frowned, looking over at your saddened and stressed out state. You had no words as when you were upset and stressed; talking wasn’t a thing you did. Nagito hugged you close and tilted his head. “It’s okay, my hope. Everything will be okay. You’re so strong and beautiful, please don’t listen to their despairful words,” he said softly as your cat climbed onto your lap and curled up, purring. You pet your kitten, then giggle and pet Nagito's hair. Later that day, Nagito drove both of you home. He had a plan of how to handle those people who were picking on you, but for now, he decided to keep your mind off of it. Thus, you Nagito and your kitten all cuddles on the couch together and watched your favorite movie. “... I love you,” you mumbled to Nagito as you cuddled into his chest, snuggling your head into him. His face turned red with blush as you cuddled onto his chest.. You said this a lot to him, but he won’t ever believe he has such a hopeful, significant other that truly loves him. “I love you too.”

At the adoption center of course he acted like a toddler looking at all the animals and pointing....

"OOOOH!! WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE? CMON! THIS ONES SO COOL!!!"

After an hour you adopted a black cat because Kokichi said it looked evil, but that was a lie as the cat was the sweetest thing to both of you

The kitty would always seem to make you happy just as much as Kokichi did. He had to admit he was a SLIGHHHHT bit jealous but he still was happy for your small little friend

Kokichi was either hated or loved at school, no in between, but everyone knew that you were his queen/king/royalty because he would talk about you ALL the time

So those that didn't like him...Well also didn't like you, but until you started bringing your cat around they had nothing to make fun of you for

You were used to teasing by Kokichi, but this is straight out bullying with the cruel words they said to you

Once the day ended you broke down, frowny face and all

He took notice of this but didn’t want to say anything in public with all the other ultimate’s walking through to their own dorms. Kokichi frowned before bringing you closer and taking your hand. He just held your hand on the way back to both of your dorms. Your cat went off to eat, and Kokichi grabbed your wrist with concern. “… What happened?” he asked in a worried tone, tilting his head. “W-what do you mean?” you acted dumb trying to ease your lovers’ concern. “Don’t lie to me, please tell me” a small tremble in his voice at this point; you just sighed and frowned before telling him everything that’s been happening and you started sobbing at the end of your explanation.

Shock swept over Kokichi. He knew people hated him and he couldn't care less, him and D.I.C.E would just prank them all the time anyway, but he draws the line of them messing with his queen/king/royalty. The rest of the night was filled with special attention from your little supreme leader. He was a clingy mess, and you loved it! He gave you many pecks on the cheeks and did everything in his power to distract you from what happened, besides he plans to have D.I.C. E give them the worst prank he can think of tomorrow, making sure they never dare make fun of you for having an emotional support animal again. While you both were cuddling, your cat wanted to join as it pounced onto the bed and curled in between you two, meowing and being a cutie. “See! It’s dividing me from my queen/king/royalty. I told you it’s evil!!!” Kokichi states, giving a pouty look to your cat. All you could do was facepalm at his shenanigans. He was such a loveable goofball.

Then it's because Makoto got to come back everyone has more time and a chance to win the game. So since Chihiro's taking Makoto's place as protag in the mastermind swap, it's only fitting Chihiro also goes through a rebirth of some kind that gives them the chance to end the game.

Please please please please, BEGGING AND WAILING read this fanfiction by DoctorHaifisch on Ao3, it's SOOOO GOOD !! 😭 Words cannot describe what did I just experienced while reading the whole thing but I can surely say that it made it to my favorite fic top.

First of I was just immediatly enthralled by how well Kokichi was characterized (I'm a simple woman, I see good Kokichi content, I click).

But then I quickly realised everyone else was super well written ? Even Kaito who's a character at the very beggining of my Danganronpa V3 journey I didn't really like at all because idk I guess I couldn't see clear through him and I would just label him as the hothead guy with a hero complex...

But omg with this fic you opened my eyes and unraveled something in my brain, even if it sounds dumb I think I never realised before the potential Kokichi/Kaito had together and the undeniable bound there must be between these two after what they experienced in the hangar in Chap. 5.

So just for that, thank you for making me appreciate and love Kaito where the game apparently couldn't and thank you for making me love Kokichi even more if that was even possible.

Now these two purple guys are very very dear to me and I want them and their classmates to have their happy ending after all they've endured 🥹

As for the art here, I had to redraw that beautiful art piece the author made for Chap. 20 because I'm a sucker for angsty stuff and also I was captured by how emotional and impactful it was displaying the sheer horror Kokichi experienced at some point of that chapter.

Even since the moment Nagito met his darling he knew it was a person filled with hope, a person with a bright potential and a future filled with hope, his admiration quickly grows as an obsession as he has the opportunity to see you more, an obsession that only grows more and more with each passing day

For Nagito it doesn't matter if you let him be in your live or doesn't even aknowledge his existance, for him is more than a blessing being able to be near you, and he wouldn't blame you if you don't want anything to do with trash like him

Nagito didn't mean to be pushy to enter in your life, but since he can't be away from you for too long and that need of being around you only grows with his obsession it was obvious that at one point you two will end up meeting. He expected for you to hate him for even daring to be around you but if you don't mind him being near you or even accept him he is shocked for it, and yet he will not dare to doubt you and just accept it

Once you let him enter in your life there is no way to get away from him, Nagito had swear to himself (and even to you) to be always with you and do whatever is needed to help you bright in an inmense and infinite hope and for that he become really clingy and dependent of you, doing whatever you ask him and accept whatever you say to him with a smile

Nagito just get used to you being cold and distant towards him, he doesn't expect nor think he deserve something else, won't even dare to ask for more, so when you start to open up more to him, even if is just a little he is incredibly surprised and even brush it off as if it was his imagination at first, but as you start to grow more and more comfortable around him there is no way for him to deny it

Nagito will probably try to deny it for as long as posible because he doesn't feel like he deserve it but it start to become more obvious in diferent ways, you had started to talk more, you start to express more of yourself and even smile, sometimes he is lucky enough to heard you laugh, and if he pay enough attention he can see your body language directed towards him, it was obvious that you started to feel free to open up to him

Nagito noticed your change but is too scare to accept it, so it isn't going to happen until someone else point it out (and even so it would take him a while, unless is you), and when he does finally accept that he is the one with who you feel the most comfortable he swears to himself that protect that feeling and never disappoint you

Your smile becomes his reason to continue living, and being the only one you allow to see it give him a boost of confidence, sudendly he feels special and important (but never more than you). Nagito even become more intense in every way posible, wanting nothing more to be with you and be able to make you happy, now he is even more eager to do everything in his power to make you happy and just fullfil your wishes, to help you reach the greatest hope

Also, Nagito never dare to question you anything he just accept you the way you are, so he never really pry into the details of the reason of your distrust and distant attitude towards others (he may actually wondered why but always brush it off as saying that is none of his business), he won't ask you even when you finally open up to him but if he get to know that is someone's fault because they had hurted you in the past it would be more probably that he will take things into matter because he hates the idea of you suffering, and he does it with the excuse that is because that bastard made you feel despair

Kazuichi Soda

It doesn't take him much time before falling in love with you, Kazuichi is the type that could fall in love at first sight, and when he does he does it hard, and just as quickly it is for him to fall in love it is to grow obsesive over you, in no time you had become the only thing that wander around Kazuichi's mind (not that he is complaining)

Kazuichi is delusional, he sees you as the peak of perfection and beauty, everyone most know and admire your beauty (but he doesn't concentrate on doing other admire you, he is more focused on admiring you himself and trying to give you everything you deserve), as well he doesn't even ask you or tries to win your trust before hand, he just came into your life and isn't planning to go away, one day he just came and talk to you as if you two already know each other from all your life (but with a little too much respect, maybe even as if you were royalty)

Although, even when he sees you as perfection itself he is unable to think that you don't like him, that posibility will break him completely so his mind doesn't even think on that, instead, when you act distant towards him he just doesn't believe it, it would take him a while to catch the idea of you not being comfortable or not wanting to share much with him, and when he does he is blaming himself for it, thinking that is probably his fault and he has to make it up for you

And just like that Kazuichi tries from all the ways he can think on to make you forgive him and to get in your good side again, he does everything he can for you, shower you with all kind of compliments and praises, trying to protect you from any kind of threaten (or at least, to anything that he sees as a threaten), Kazuichi is actually pretty open with his obsesion because he doesn't see anything bad in it, in his eyes everything is what you deserve and out of love

It will take him a while to notice that you had become more open and comfortable with him, and won't really notice it until it become more obvious, he doesn't get the little hints and just keeps trying to make it up for you, but when he finally does he couldn't be happier that you finally seem to be accepting him

When he finally sees your smile for him you had grow now even more beautiful! his praises and obsession only increase, from that day he just gets more determinanted to serve you and make you smile, it would take him a while to notice that you only feel comfortable to show yourself with him but if he does it only give him a boost on his ego and selfconfidece, someone so perfect like you shows him their perfect smile! obviousle he will feel honored! sudenly he feels incredibly special for being the only one allowed to see the smile of someone so special and perfect

Speaking of, he may don't brag about it with other but he will not shut up with his compliments and praises. As well, he is already pretty jealous but if he sees you smiling towards anyone else he wil be increadibly jealous, he thought he was special! he will never take it against you but it isn't probably that the other person will be safe (at least to his deadly glares and threatens)

Kazuichi doesn't pry for deep details, he asks more for superficial detais, personal details only when it comes to your likings and so on, so is probably that he won't exactly nor wonder why do you act the way you act, it is up to you if you decide to tell him or not, but if he ever get to know if is someone else fault that you don't feel comfortable being yourself he will be completely offended for what happened to you (like if it had happened to him), is more likely that he won't search revenge for you but it trigger his protectiveness, from that day he is keeping a close eye to anyone who dares even aproach to you, he had swear that no one will hurt you again in any way

Kokichi Ouma

Kokichi isn't the type who falls in love imediatly, for him is a slowly process, it started by a simple interested, your distant personality catches his eye and immediatly atracted to him but as the time pass that interest slowly and careful grows more and more, it reachs the point where he was so curious about you that wanted to know everything he can of you without noticing, becomes an obsession without him able to stop it

Kokichi is really smart and doesn't do anything without a plan, so even if he approach to you casually he has already a plan to get to know all your secrets, while in the outside he is just being goofy and childish in the inside he is getting all the information he can of you by all the means he needs

For Kokichi all of this was a simple game, he was just playing around with you, he planned to make you the victim of his silly jokes until he can get a reaction of you, however Kokichi didn't know (or at least he didn't want to accept it) but this was a game he was losing, the more time he pass with you and the more he gets to know about you his love and obsession done nothing but grow more and more, he thought he was the one in control when in reality he was already down bad for you, but he will not dare to admit it because he didn't want to feel that vulnerable

Once Kokichi knows everything he can of you the new part of his plan started, make you laugh. Kokichi wanted nothing more than have some fun, do some silly jokes and be consider funny by the ones he cares, even when he is terrible with expressing his true feelings, and since the day you catches his interest Kokichi had cling onto you and doesn't plan to let you go you become the one he wants to make smile the most

Kokichi is incredibly smart and is always paying too much attention to you, so he notice when you start to feel more comfortable right away, even if is only a little and there are only small hints of it that is more than enough for him to feel like he is starting to win the game, and to make him feel a boost of confidence on himself and his plan

When he finally manage to get a smile, or even better, a laugh from you is the point of not return, even if is something that lasted one second it was more than enough for Kokichi to fall in love all over again with you, that moment is what make Kokichi realize how beautiful you are, how much he loves you and how much he wish to see that beautiful smile again

Kokichi doesn't want to admit it, not even to himself (even when he has it clear) but he is quite dependent of his darling, he can say all he wants that he doesn't care for you and he does whatever he wants but in reality your opinion is what matters the most for him and he is desperate for you to love him the way he is, so when you finally smile for him, and only him, he becomes even more dependent, he becomes dependent of your smile and it becomes his purpose in live to continue making you smiling

It may wouldn't be so intense if it wasn't because of your distant personality, now that you allow him to be the only one you are able to express yourself freely and truly smile he is not willing to lose it, he is going to make everything in his power for you to never lose that smile and for you to smile for him and only for him. That honor of being the only one you smile at makes him even more possessive, it makes him feel special and it makes him want to be the only one to enjoy that pleasure

Kokichi already knows everything about you, so he already knows, or at least have an idea of what happened to you to become so distant from others, and if there is someone to blame for it he will make them pay without a doubt, they deserve it for trying to erase your beautiful smile

Amami Rantaro

It doesn't happen imediatly, it takes some time for him to happen, he falls in love first and then his obsession grows slowly but stronge, and even when he notice those growing intense feelings inside of him he just accept them because are feelings that grow out of love

It isn't difficult for Rantaro to enter in your life once he gets interested on you, even when he can be pretty misterious he is really charming and attentive, he appear to be trust worthy, he even openly accept if you don't trust him yet or aren't comfortable around him right away, or at least that what he says because inside is something that bothers him but stay calm reminding himself that is just matter of time, he will let you know that he isn't a threaten and you can trust him

Rantaro will be kindly pushing you to accept him, he understand that you prefer to be are distant to everyone and even wary but he isn't planing to let you go, so he just insist too much, but he do it so kindly and gentle that can go unnoticed or don't bother you at all

As the time pass Rantaro grows more clingy as his obsession grows, he just loves you so much that can't stay away from you and even when he isn't physicaly near you somehow he always knows where you are and what are you doing. He excuses himself by saying that he just want you to be safe, he had already lost all his sisters and despite everything he have done to trying to find them he haven't even find a trace of them and that lead him to be terrified by the thought of the same happening to you, he doesn't know what he will do if you ever go missing so he prefers to watch you closely to asure that you won't just disappear one day

Even when his unhealthy and obsessive behavior can be pretty obvious at times he always manage to cover up as being worried of you or even accidents, he is so good at covering up and finding convincing excuses that it is scary

Rantaro is a really observant and perseptive person, he is smart enough to notice when you start to feel more comfortable around him, even if there are just little hints like you getting a little more closer to him or starting to express a little more he notice it right away, and it makes his heart melt, Rantaro was used to your distant attitude and even when this was something he expected and wanted is still flattering, it gave him even more motivation to continue

Once you open up to him completely there is no way to stop Rantaro, he just feel like he is special for you, maybe as special you are to him, it make him think that you had fully accept him in your life and that would lead him to be more possessive and protective over you, he just had find out how beautiful your smile is and he isn't planning to lose it, besides he is really mature and is used to take care all of his sisters, he knows what it is the best for you and wants nothing more that see you smile

He wants to spend every second of the day by your side only to be able to discover all your other beautiful expressions, but, as much as he loves that you finally feel comfortable to express yourself with him Rantaro wants to be the only one with the privilege to see that beautiful sight, he had grow a little bit depend on you so if he even see you starting to express mor with another person, even if is a little Rantaro will feel threaten, and if he is trigger enough he will do something about it (not against you, never against you)

He'd think about it for a moment, pretending as if he's against the idea but it's just to tease you, he'd feed you every day if he was asked to.

He loves being able to feed you because not only is he being helpful, but he feels good about himself knowing he can take care of your needs.

Definitely starts giggling every time you open your mouth to take a bite.

Like I'm not even joking, sometimes he'll drop it before he can even feed you because he's kicking his legs too much.

You'll raise a brow at him because he's starting to twirl his hair, and now he even insists on calling himself your wife.

"Kokichi wtf are you doing?" "Shhh.. Let wifey take care of you... Blinks eyelashes aggressively"

But the first time when you asked him to, it wasn't that he was uncomfortable, but you could've sworn he started to sweat and his hand was shaking the whole time.

When you ask him if he's okay, he'll "Nishishi~ Don't worry about it!" it's off but he's trying to make sure that he doesn't hit your face with the spoon or something.

Also he does a taste test before he feeds you. Just to make sure that it's not poisoned, yk? Totally not because he wants to see if the food is yummy.

Imagine if you look inside your bowl because for some suspicious reason, the spoonful's aren't even full. They're just tiny portions. And the bowl is like, 80% empty because your stupid boyfriend ate everything.

It's a disaster, but it's out of love.

Shuichi

REALLLLLLYYY shy about it.

He wants to so badly but it's like he can never get used to it. Not when you look so cute whenever you let out a little "aah" before taking a bite.

He'll short-circuit halfway through putting the spoon in your mouth.

Apologizes for EVERYTHING.

If even a bit of food was on your lip, he's gonna give you a thousand apologies, and he's not gonna stop until you tell him to politely shut up 😭

"IM SORRY IM SORRY IM SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN T-" "Shuichi.. It's okay.. You can stop now.."

He's a clever boy, when you asked him to feed you because you needed help, first thought was just to do what you asked for because it was probably for something important.

He's not the best at it, but much better than Kokichi. At least he doesn't eat your food..

Insists on giving you seconds because he wants to make sure your satisfied and healthy.

If you're eating or munching on something unhealthy like ice cream, he'll probably sneak a few bites though. Not because he wants to actually eat your stuff, but he just doesn't want you getting diabetes or smth LMAO

Hands down literally the best most caring sweetest girlfriend ever it's baffling.

Even if you don't ask to, she's still gonna feed you because she loves showing that she cares.

She's smiling the whole time and it makes your face get all hot every. single. time.

Starts humming in the middle of it

When you're finished, she washes all the dishes, and plays some piano for you afterward.

It gives you baby fever because she has that motherly kind of care to it.

When you asked her the first time, her face lit up like a Christmas tree and she didn't even ask any questions about it either.

"Hey Darling? Could y-" "Of course cutiee!~"

She makes sweet little comments while you're taking bites like "Awh your eyes are so pretty!" or "Have I ever told you how perfect you are?"

She always blows on the food before giving it to you so you don't burn your mouth.

If you're eating soup or having something messy, she'll tie your hair up first so nothing gets in the way of you enjoying your meal.

She's such a romantic it makes me wanna melt.

Despair Disease! Kokichi Ouma x Reader

GN! Reader, SFW, Fluff, little angst?

Note: I tried my best to keep the time setting as vague as possible. So, it has no spoilers for the game.

"What?"

"Oh, he has the Despair Disease. That's why, i-"

"No, i heard what you said. It's just- Are you telling me that you knew but didn't do anything?"

Miu parts her lips to speak up, yet words don't come up. She awkwardly averts her gaze, as if hoping you'd drop the fact that she, infact, doesn't care.

You sigh, rubbing the crook of your nose. It's only been a while of you locking yourself in your room to plan a way for you and the others to exit the game, if it is even possible. Yet, somehow, Kokichi follows your step, locking himself in his room, refusing anyone to let them in. Not because he's plotting an escape plan. But because he's sick.

You only just finally opened the door of your room to go to grab a drink. Coincidentally, Miu noticed you and approached you, giving you a heads up about Kokichi's status.

"Wha- Whatever, I'm just here to tell you. Since he's your boyfriend or something," Miu makes sure you see her crossing her arms before walking away, leaving you frustrated at the lack of their attention to Kokichi.

You watch as Miu disappear from the dormitory, perhaps to the gym or whatever. You couldn't care less. Like how they did to Kokichi.

You don't waste any time and hurry, practically running to Kokichi's bedroom even if it's not that far from yours.

You stare at his door for a while before knocking, "Hey. It's me. I heard the news. Can i come in?"

It's quiet. Too quiet. He would've been grinning and trying to get under your skin by now. Something like, "Oh, what's this? You're so worried about me. You're in love with me, huh? I can tell."

But, no. Even if how badly you want him to annoy you, he's not responding. You wait and waited. A minute or two had passed, perhaps. Yet, at least, you hear faint sounds coming from the other side of the door. It sounds like... Something heavy getting dragged. You start getting worried, which is why you knock a few times again.

"Hey? Kichi? Are you there? Is everything alr-"

Before you know it, there he is, the Ultimate Supreme Leader, opening the door. He's the same like always. Well, except the messy hair, eyebags, and... tired hollow eyes.

You waste no time to reach to him, cupping both of his cheeks gently as he blankly stares at you. The door opens wider, giving you a clear sight of his messier bedroom.

"Hey, did you eat?"

He doesn't respond, at all. Instead, he sighes softly, shutting his eyes and leaning onto your touch. It's quite a shock to see him like this. The normal Kokichi would laugh and refuse to let you see his weakness. But here he is now, wanting more of your affection.

"... Where have you been?" He mumbles, his voice is kind of muffled yet you could make out what he's trying to say. His voice is quite raspier than usual. Perhaps it's because of the disease. "I miss you."

You try your best to ignore the last statement, dismissing it as a side effect of the disease.

"You don't remember? I'm just having some me-time. It's good for me, especially at a time like this," You smile at his purple eyes, the ones that you adore so badly, glancing back at yours.

You don't really want anyone to know that you're planning to escape with them. Plans will get destroyed if more people know about it. It will be better if it's kept hidden.

Unfortunately, Kokichi, who is more sensitive now, takes it the wrong way.

"... I knew you'll get bored of me any time soon," He whispers hoarsely, yet loud enough for you to hear. "Am i that boring?"

Wow. You asked Miu for more informations about the Despair Disease, yet she didn't give you much. You didn't really have time to ask others as well. But, is this what Despair Disease could do to your mental state?

Even if his tone is weak and disappointed, yet he still clings onto your figure, making you support his weight, not caring whether he'll fall now. As if he trusts you enough.

The Kokichi you know would never say what's on his mind, genuinely. He'll speak in riddles or even say the opposite and you have to figure it all out on your own. And again, here he is, speaking clearly.

You need to get used to this side of him, otherwise you'll start prefer him to tease you again like how he usually does.

"... Let's just get inside, alright? Let's get you to bed. We don't want anyone to see you at this state, right?" You whisper softly to him as you pat his back gently, gesturing him to start walking to his bed.

He nods faintly. Yet as soon as you try to pull away, he trips. You catch him in time, though. Finally, you figured out that earlier, the two minutes he took to open his door, is him crawling on the floor to open it.

God, you feel so bad.

You give him a small reassuring smile as you rest his arm around your shoulder. Your arm holds his waist gently, beginning to help him walk to his bed slowly yet steady.

He never really said anything, but you figured he thank you silently. Or perhaps he's just too tired to say anything. If that's the case, then he really gave his all to blurt words to you back then.

As you lay his thin figure onto his bed gently, you make sure the pillow is fluffy enough, giving it a little preparation. Kokichi watches as you tucks him in under the blanket. You notice the way his breath hitches as you pull away. Is he afraid that you'll leave him again?

Yet, you never will. You shift to sit at the side of the bed, giving him a small smile as you rub his chest gently to give him a sense of comfort. Something he never really felt until he met you. Even at a time like this. Well, not that you'll know.

It's been a while of him staring back at you in silence. He's sick. Of course he acts differently than the usual. You figured it would be best to stay quiet, as well.

Actually, you're getting quite used to this state of his. His calm state. Well, he's been calm, yes. But, when he's not trying to gouge reactions of others. When he's not trying to get their attention by saying something off-putting.

Kokichi, the usual trickster, being not afraid to show you who he really is, is quite sweet. You could always tell that he has a special liking towards you. You're the most frequent one to get annoyed by him. Not because he hates you. But, because he likes your reaction more than anyone's. Who'd care for the other's reactions if he could see yours?

He'd never admit it, but he's quite at ease if he's beside you. At your side. With you.

Breaking the silence, he parts his lips, "I'm hungry."

Oh, so now he's hungry. You never really think about how he's been when he's without you around. Does he starve himself because he doesn't trust anyone but you?

"Come to think of it, you didn't answer my question earlier."

"Which one...?"

"The one about whether you ate or not today, dear."

"... I dunno. Forgot," He averts his gaze, his cheeks slightly redden. Luckily enough for him, you didn't notice it.

You smile, gritting your teeth as you try your absolute best to hide the fact that you're rather furious. Not at him, of course. To them who don't care about him. The others.

Well, you can't really blame them. Kokichi is... Quite something to handle. It's not surprising for them to avoid him. But, seriously? Even when he's vulnerable? When he needs someone to cling to?

No matter how much you try to hide it, Kokichi could tell that you're mad. Which is why, he weakly rests his warm fingers on the back of your palm. As if reassuring you. Or to calm you down. Who knows.

"... I'll try to cook something. A soup might be good, yeah?" You give him a small smile as you pull away, getting up from his bed, making him let out slight whimper.

"No... Stay," His voice becomes more desperate now, squeezing your hand gently in his, not wanting you to let go. His pleading eyes are enough to convince you to stay a bit longer. "... Please? I want you here."

Hell, with him acting adorable like this, you kind of wish to see this side of him more often.

"Come on, you need to eat. Otherwise, i won't be here," You sigh, gently pulling away from his clinging fingers.

He sits up almost immediately, if it's not because of his disease, causing his movement to become much slower, "... What? Why?"

"I don't like people who don't eat," You pout, gesturing you're mad at him if he's not taking care of himself. It's quite an unconvincing act, probably only works for children, but who knows?

"... Soup is nice," He mumbles, his eyes widen slightly, pretty much convinced at your act. He's definitely a skillful liar. With him believing your act, you figured it must be because of the disease.

You offer a small smile as you ruffle his messy hair gently before getting up from his bed, "Wait here, alright? I'll be back soon."

He sighs softly, laying down again, watching you leave his room. He's alone. Again. But at least, you were here.

"As long as you're here," He mumbles to himself, shifting slightly under the blanket. No matter how much he wish for you to accidentally hear his words, you're too busy preparing his soup.

"Oh! He must had the Honesty Disease! It's a symptom caused by Despair Disease!" Monokuma claims.

Ever since you found out about Kokichi's sickness, you took care of him for several days; staying in his room. He refused to let you leave him alone and often acts more clingy than before. He started to blurt words he never would before, like how he wish for you to pat his back and sing him to sleep, directly to your face.

You assumed it's because of the side effects of the disease, causing him to speak nonsense. But, was it, though?

"... Honesty Disease? So, it makes the infected to... Become honest?" You repeat to yourself, quite taken aback at the reveal.

You should've known better than to not talk to Monokuma to ask more of the disease. As soon as Kokichi gets better and is well enough to move freely, you took the chance to speak to Monokuma about the disease.

But, Honesty Disease? Seriously? What, so, the way he acts when he's sick... Is how he usually is? When he's not masking or lying? Is that even possible?

Wait, but doesn't that mean he... Clings to you genuinely because he trusts you? You could tell but to actually hear it as a fact is quite... Something. His words are genuine? His gestures are... Sincere? He wants you to accompany him?

"Also, did you tell me that you stayed with him for a few days? How come you didn't get infected too?" Monokuma added, tilting his head to the side. "Well, maybe you'll catch it soon."

Truly, you were too focused to help him get better and forgot about the fact that the disease may be highly contagious. Perhaps, that's why your throat feels more sore lately.

"What?" You heard what he said clearly, yet blurts out the word anyway.

Seems like a certain someone has to help you now.

Trust & Insecurity in Kiibo & Miu's relationship

(In response to @strawberrysweater ! Thanks for opening this can of worms and sorry for this huge post lmaooo)

To preface this: I do love them together!! I just enjoy looking for the places they might clash at times if they were actually in a relationship... So this is about the things that keep them from fully understanding/trusting each other. And ofc this is just my interpretation!!

My short answer:

(1) Miu only thinks she is valuable as an inventor and sexual object, (2) Most people only care about Kiibo as a scientific novelty, and (3) they both have JUST enough evidence to convince themselves that this is also how they view each other. Even if deep down they're only playing these roles in an attempt to get closer to another human being.

On top of that, even though they're especially vulnerable with each other, I think there's still a lot of misunderstanding between them that would be difficult for them to reconcile. First because they have some genuine points of conflict, and second because they each have problems communicating and reading people (i.e. reality distorting levels of abandonment issues & obligatory robot autism coding, respectively)

Elaboration under the cut:

PART A - Insecurities

You can see (1) and (2) a bit in their other relationships:

Miu is of course hypersexual at all times, and she gives inventions to Shuichi (FTE) and her fantasy lover (love suite) because, as she confesses herself, inventing stuff is the only way she knows how to show affection for other people besides offering them her body.

Her inventions and hypersexuality are also the only explicit points of connection between her and Kokichi, arguably the only other character she is remotely close to besides Kiibo and Shuichi.

So given that most of her onscreen relationship with Kiibo is sexual or scientific (or both) in nature, it’s easy for her to go on believing these are the only things she has to offer. It’s a bit self-fulfilling of course because she’s arguable the one controlling the direction of their relationship in the first place, and at this point I’m not sure she believes there’s anything else to her.

I get the impression Kiibo has met a lot of people over his life who only want to talk about how cool it is that he’s a robot, even though that’s not a part of his identity he initially likes to bring up.

In his FTE with Shuichi, he goes straight into 'demonstrating my functions' mode as if it's the only way he knows how to talk to people

We see him treated in this fetishized way in-game too: with Kokichi chasing him to be “friends with a robot”; with Kaede’s FTE asking him invasive questions and touching his buttons without asking; and in postgame with Kazuichi basically assaulting him and trying to take him apart out of scientific curiosity --- all of these within just his first or second interactions with these people!

So it's a BIG thing for him to willingly let Miu sit there and take him apart, when he already spends so much time fending off virtual strangers who don't respect his bodily autonomy. And he's not used to people taking a genuine interest in him as a person so he’s hesitant to let himself believe Miu is any different, especially when her interest is so explicitly centered around his biology.

Plus as long as Kiibo is physically dependent on Miu, there's going to be a lot of room for insecurity to fester on BOTH sides:

"Does Kiibo really need me or does he just need my technical skills? Does he want to do these favors for me or does he feel like he has to?"

"Does Miu really care who I am or does she just want to gawk at my body like everyone else does? Does she care who I am or am I just the first boy(?) to give her the time of day? Does she want to help me or does she just know she’s the only one who can?"

This is the biggest hurdle IMO because it's a necessarily unbalanced relationship, and it will have to continue for the foreseeable future, no matter how they feel about each other.

PART B - Respect/communication

Another thing is that I don't think they fully respect each other — kind of for the same reason the rest of the group doesn’t respect them either

Miu might not consider Kiibo a person. We know Kiibo was worried about this; when asking Shuichi to use the electrohammer on him he explains, "The outcome will settle once and for all how Miu perceived me." This, and the fact she says robots aren’t people in trial, make me pretty confident that she has never looked him in the eye and said "I consider you a person."

I think she has a complex relationship with Kiibo’s personhood. On one hand if he’s a thing then it’s much easier for her to control him (esp given what we see of their relationship) and this soothes her anxious heart by ensuring that he can’t abandon her.

At the same time, if this is the case, then his coerced/artificial love isn’t worth as much as it would be if it came from an autonomous human person — to her insecure mind, it becomes Miu alone in her room playing boyfriend girlfriend with a doll, if that makes sense. 

To clarify, I’m not saying she BELIEVES he’s just an object, but it’s an idea that both comforts and torments her.

It's worth noting, too, that Miu doesn't always respect people's consent. This is especially risky when you factor in their mechanic-robot relationship (which already comes with a difficult power dynamic) and Kiibo’s naive/somewhat people-pleasing personality.

On Kiibo’s end: I think it’s safe to say he finds her rude/inappropriate at first (though I think it's really sweet that he uses the much more euphemistic description 'brash and spirited' after getting to know her). They also have some pretty stark moral differences --- Kiibo is distraught to learn that Miu wasn't above murdering their classmates, for example.

More importantly, I headcanon he has a lot of difficulty understanding her at all  – on an emotional level, yes, and and on a literal level he just straight up doesn’t understand many of the sentences she says either

K: “Most of that was unintelligible nonsense, but…” after Miu explains her “secret woman weapon." IMO his decision to phrase this as an insult helps mask the fact he's not familiar with all the lewd references she just made

He also has problems understanding emotions from the start, and Miu is DIFFICULT to track because she cycles through emotions so rapidly.

+ he might find it hard to extrapolate that many of the things she does are part of a facade. The crass egotistical miu who says he’s not a person is equally as real to him as the deeply insecure miu wants to believe he is a person (if not more real…)

PART C

Also these bullets from my personal doc I don't have the willpower to expand on atm:

They are both so prone to misinterpreting people unkindly

They’re also both so misled about how committed a relationship is supposed to be. Like I think Kiibo would consider a confession from literally anyone to be tantamount to a proposal (based on his love suite scene). And Miu wouldn’t be quite so fast but i do think it’d still be a huge deal for her because she falls very hard very easily (based on her FTE). Which is all very cute but being plunged into a big commitment like that can be crazy stressful, esp for two teens who have never dated before (imo) and have no frame of reference. [I was actually just going to post about this part lol]

PART D

All that said... I love them together and I DO think they could make it work without too much heartbreak. A lot of the things I describe as problems here could easily be taken as strengths.

e.g. Their misunderstanding of how relationships work ironically makes them more compatible, since they're both ready to go whole hog (if Kiibo determines that he actually likes her that is). Miu's rapidly fluctuating emotions are confusing, but on some level I think he'd admire how deeply and obviously she is able to feel things. And of course Miu as an inventor has a deep (almost objectum like??) respect for machines that helps Kiibo accept that he can be a robot and a person at the same time, and is probably the only one in the class who understands just how impressive he really is.
