Funnily enough, now that the OS arc draws closer I'm actually starting to think about the Tenrou arc more.
Here is what I assume will happen : Zeref will be on Tenrou Island during the trials despite Acnologia knowing that it's a regular haunt of his, either because A) Acnologia went days/weeks before to check Tenrou, before he went into hibernation, but Zeref wasn't there at the time and arrived in the meantime, or B) Zeref lost track of time. (Or C) he somehow decided this was an appropriate time to see Natsu - to be fair Tenrou does protect FT members from death...) Now the interesting thing to think about is who will figure out that Zeref is on the island, when will they do so, and what will they do with that knowledge ?
The "who" obviously depends on who will take part in the trials, be it as examiners, candidates or partners. For the candidates : I assume Natsu, Gray, Mest, Cana and Levy will still take part. Freed and Juvia's circumstances are a bit different from canon due to the Battle of FT not happening, but I still think they'll be nominated (actually maybe Freed was already a candidate in X783?). Elfman won't be there, but I'm actually thinking Erik should be a candidate (I'm actually not sure why he hasn't been yet - is he asking the master not to have him complete with his siblings for the title? Does he not want to be S-Class for some reason? I would have assumed Erik would be nominated before Natsu or at the same time, not after). As for partners, Happy, Loke, Lucy and Bixlow will most likely accompany the same candidates as canon. I guess Lisanna might go with Juvia again, but you might also have Juvia develop some new friendships. Actually I think a Juvia and Evergreen team might be nice. Bonus if they fight against Erza in the first round. Erik would go with Cubellios (or maybe with Wendy, if your unison raid art was related to that arc, but I don't think he would 'cause Sting (and Rogue) would be jealous). So the most uncertain partners are those with Mest and Levy. Mest might not be able to use the "Mystogan's pupil" excuse again, given that Mystogan is less of a loner here; that plus her protective elder brothers has me doubt he would ask Wendy. But it's not like I have a better idea for a partner either. As for Levy, well she might go with Jet or Droy, but she might also pick Lisanna, if Juvia goes with Evergreen? I feel like their proximity to the dragon slayers probably made them better friends than in canon. Finally, for the examiners, I'm assuming that Mystogan will be in Edolas and Acnologia sleeping, but that Laxus, Jellal, Gajeel, Erza, Mira, Gildarts and Makarov will all come. Mira could stay behind this time, but I'm thinking she won't. They might also bring Wendy along for emergency treatment if she's not Mest's partner (though I don't think they usually bother, so maybe not).
Now my assumption is that the trials will be the same as canon. So first the S-Class examiners come to the island. Gajeel might be able to tell that Zeref is there (dragon senses + having encountered the guy a couple times), or maybe Laxus, but it's not a given. Also I'm thinking that the magic of the Tenrou tree/island might be overwhelming enough that it partially hides Zeref's presence. Then, all the way from the ship, I don't think that Natsu or Erik, who might have a better chance at feeling his presence, would be able to tell (especially behind motion sick). Trial starts : Mests teleports with Wendy, Freed throws up a barrier, Levy and Evergreen rewrite it. Mest, Freed and Levy pick the same routes they did before. Juvia now has an option that was closed last time - the Mira route, though here it's Gajeel waiting instead. For fun, they go the Erza route again. Then comes, in order, Natsu, Erik (or maybe Erik then Natsu?), Gray and Cana. Natsu being less fight oriented, might not pick the E route again (where Laxus is waiting). Or actually, he might go with "G for Gajeel" and fight Freed and Bixlow. Erik, hearing people and thus knowing the options between fighting Laxus / fighting Mest and Wendy / fighting Gajeel, would probably pick Gajeel. Then Grey and Loke go against Mest and Wendy, Lucy and Cana against Laxus. (Damn, actually maybe Gildarts should still fight - no, it makes no sense unless there's extra candidates, he's overpowered). Anyway, everyone is focussed on the first task so most likely not noticing Zeref. Except maybe Erik.
Other option : rather than keeping the same structure as canon (3 fights with S-Class mages, 2 duels, 1 lucky road), all 6 S-Class mages are possible opponents, + 1 or 2 lucky roads (depending on if there's indeed 8 candidates, since I'm not really sure all of them will participate), or Acnologia also comes along and it's 7 S-Class fights + 1 lucky road. I might actually like that option better, it also gives GH a real reason to use the Dragonsgrave pollen, but then Acnologia would sniff out Zeref immediately so there's that downside.
Anyway, back to my first theory, Gray and Levy obviously pass. I would bet on Natsu passing, but in essentially a 2 vs 1 fight (with Freed having the time to write rune traps) it might be a difficult fight. Juvia probably fails, Cana might pass against Laxus for the same reason Natsu passed against Gildarts. That or they outsmart him and use transportation against him, but I wouldn't bet on it. Cana failing in the first step would be very ansgt-y, and a good reason to have her and Lucy wander around the island because she doesn't want to be go back to the camp where the S-Class mages (including Gildarts) are. For Erik I think it will depend on whether he is actually trying to make it to S-Class or not (similar to Jellal previously), and/or if he has something to prove against Gajeel for some reason.
So for the second task : Gray, Levy, Natsu?, Cana?, Erik? are qualified. Mest and his partner wander around the island, Juvia and Evergreen go back to camp. There's the question of whether Freed and Bixlow leave like they did the first time - but back then it was with Gildarts, who in my version has yet to play a role in the trial, so it doesn't make much sense. Laxus and Gajeel (and possibly Erik if he fails) being dispatched the find the wayward Mest (and Cana?).
So who finds Zeref first, during the second part of the trial (which might be modified so that Gildarts / Mira / Jellal have a role to play, or they're part of the 3th challenge) ? Well, canon events would say Natsu. I'll argue Erik will either find him first or hear Natsu finding him and come to check on the situation and/or warn one of the examiners (Laxus/Gajeel/Mira). Another option, if they get eliminated, is Lucy and Cana, just, Because. Obviously Natsu arrives before they get - well, killed, as much as is possible with the Tenrou protection. Question is, at that point, does Zeref leave? I would say yes, but he didn't in canon... then again the context was different. It would be fun if Natsu / Erik took advantage of the situation and asked where Mavis' grave is XD.
Then GH arrives and all hell breaks loose. They're looking for Zeref who isn't on the island anymore, the dragon slayers except Erik get taken out by Dragonsgrave pollen, Fairy Tail is panicking over Zeref supposedly being on the island but for different reasons, and some secrets probably get dragged up in the process. Plus the Mest/Council stuff. (I wonder if they would try to fire Etherion on the island as is threatened in canon. It would actually be pretty fun to have Etherion fired only for Acnologia to block/eat it. A bit less fun but also interesting would be for Etherion to be the reason Fairy Sphere is used - with Acnologia, Sting and Rogue being left behind in the 7 years skip. Hopefully that wouldn't kill Loke.)
Anyway, definitely lots of potential with this arc as well!!!
🐧
Fascinating, I love seeing people guess ahead. You got a few things, but I won't say what lol.
I will answer one thing though, because it has come up a few times, but really the main reason Erik isn't S-Class is because he doesn't want to be. (Does this make him a tiny bit of a hypocrite after Jellal's trial? Perhaps lol, but that's part of the fun.) Not really for self-loathing reasons though, but mostly because he thinks it'll be a huge hassle because of the popularity aspect. (Aka Mystogan's biggest regret lmao.) He's avoided getting nominated at all so far because the people who know him know he doesn't care and from a larger perspective (like Makarov's), he doesn't really do much as far as solo quantifiable jobs go. At least not enough to make it known. (He can do some ultra-impressive group takedown for a job and come back and downplay it so well lol.) But. Lately Erik has been impressive on main a bit more, so :)
#htryds ask#penguin anon#tenrou arc#its so fun to see what assumptions people make lol#and it also makes me giddy when some of them are correct#kudos to you for remembering one plot point in particular :)

Girl hear me out: OG!SQH and Airplane as Twins. Mobei-jun has two hands. What's not clicking. (Btw love your content)
Thanks for the kudos 🖤, and remember: You asked for this.

•
The thing is that Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky would have rather have stayed dead. Honestly, what was with this reincarnation-transmigration bullshit? No. If a person dies, they should stay that way. Instead, he was born the youngest of nine (NINE!) children and a twin at that. To none other than his precious scum villain, Shang Qinghua.(He reminds himself it could be worse; he could be Shen Jiu.)
Shang Houhua and Shang Feiji (their parents really hated them when they decided on names.) The two were nearly identical except for their eyes. A-Hua’s eyes were a darker honey color. A-Ji’s were a bright apple green. Although no one really paid that much attention to that small detail, so the two often were confused for one another.
This is how A-Ji finds himself on a specific mission in place of his brother. They swapped places because Airplane had an exam he was wholly unprepared for, and A-Hua hadn’t wanted to go on a particular mission. It was easy, really. And maybe that was the issue.
The mission was easy: a handful of An Ding disciples bringing back scrolls, books, papers, and inks. Simple and straight to the point.
It was when the System, something that A-Ji mostly ignored, made a happy announcement that a new character would be introduced that made him pause during the mission. A new character? It was confusing until a shard of ice impaled the disciple beside him. Then all hell broke loose.
A-Ji couldn’t tell you what happened, except he wound up with Mobei Jun. He, Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky, took his brother's place as the scum spy! He panicked, cried, and felt like everyone knew he was now a traitor. And the fact that Mobei Jun was able to get onto An Ding without sounding off the wards! He knew his king was amazing, but he was totally OP! And he wasn’t even an adult yet!
The thing was that A-Ji was terrible at keeping secrets from his twin. They had some weird connection, so A-Hua knew something was up!
You’d think those would be the biggest problems. No, the biggest issue was that Mobei Jun opened a shadow portal into his room one night when A-Hua was there with him.
“Um,” A-Ji froze in his seat at his desk.
A-Hua stared from the bed.
“Two of you,” Mobei Jun blinked, bright blue eyes narrowing from one to the other.
It was the look on his face that threw A-Ji off. Was his king blushing? Over the fact that they were twins?
"Hello there," A-Hua murmured, admiringly glancing at the demon prince. Which was fair, because Mobei Jun was hot. But also, no. No way! Airplane made that man for himself, thank you very much.
Mobei Jun kept his gaze on the two, interest slowly forming on his face.
Oh, absolutely not! PIDW had its share of kinky and shameful elements, but there was never any Lannister-style twincest nonsense in the plot or initial drafts. (And the readers had pushed for Binghe to get down with twins and triplets in threesomes and foursomes, but there were some things that even Airplane couldn’t bring himself to write for money.)
“No!” Airplane shouted, grabbing his brother by the elbow and forcing him out of the room. “Don’t be a narc about this either.”
“As usual, you sound crazy,” A-Hua commented—he often said that when he didn’t understand what A-Ji said— as he was shoved out into the hallway. “We’ll talk about this later.”
A-Ji could finally breathe once the door shut behind him, only to find Mobei Jun gazing at him and then sadly at the door.
What the fuck?

Top Five Fanfictions you've read, and top 5 fanfictions you've written!
Jesus Kay...
I'm so bad at keeping up with fanfics i've read. I genuinely have no idea but I'm starting with my bookmarks and working from there Top five fanfics i've read (in no particular order)
Misunderstandings Galore - xXQueenofDragonsXx in which Erik thinks Peter is Charles's son. I've read this fic so many times i keep thinking about it and coming back to it. I love a good misunderstanding
Drive My Way - Schatz2020 Race car driver Erik, surgeon Charles. They meet and Erik crashes his car. cannot be sold enough race car driver Erik. The world needs more. Especially with hurt Erik? Tear that boy to shreds. I once lost this fic and spent weeks looking for it.
If It Happens One More Time ('More Than Adequate' Remix) - Butterynutjob Charles and Erik meet, Erik is insecure. Charles finds out it's because Erik's wife is controlling and emotionally abusive. Another fic I've spent weeks looking for at one point. I just love Erik being hurt and Charles caring for him. There's a big theme going on here.
The next two aren't cherik related but live in my head rent free. both are by @rammyrue (hope the tag is okay)
Emergency Contact Sebastian is bought a sex worker, then is mistaken as the sex worker's emergency contact. It's been so long since I've read this fic but I think about it so much. It's been a while since i've read any mormor fics but this this one has stayed with me in the best way
Profess Sebastian goes to the wrong lecture, falls for Jim and for the woman Jim lives with. I've read this more times than I could count. At least once a week it enters my mind. There are parts that I just suddenly remember and go back to reread like I'm watching my favorite episode of a show.
I could take the easy way out and give the like over all most popular fics i've written but I feel like that's not the goal here. almost 350 fics to sort through. Top five fanfics i've written (in no particular order)
Pawns and Rings 5 Times Charles and Erik play chess and 1 time Erik proposes to Charles instead.
Professors Stark and Strange Tony and Stephen are professors they're married, no one knows. It's a whole thing. This is on the list just because it is objectively, looking at hits and kudos the best fic I've written almost 12k hits, over 1.5k kudos, over 100 bookmarks.
See for Yourself Sebastian is going blind and what good is a blind sniper?
Not Who You Think I Am Sub Erik, dom Charles. Everyone worries that Erik is abusing Charles because of how intimidating he is. Less about the fic, more about the plot. I love fics where everyone thinks Erik is dangerous and going to hurt Charles but around Charles and Charles only he's the softest, kindest, most caring boyfriend.
Secret Dad-ing Unknown to everyone in the school, in the dead of the night, when everyone else sleeps, Erik steals some moments alone with his son.
#ahhhh but now i'm thinking about so many other fics#ones i've read and ones i've written#this is painful#i've spent almost an hour on this now#and found a lot of my fics that i don't remember so#going to go read those

GET READY FOR ANOTHER INTERROGATION LET'S GOOO
For the fanfic writer ask: 5, 9, 14, 17, and 30 😁
YOU ARE SO NICE FOR LETTING ME YAP OK HERE WE GO
5. What’s something you learned while researching a fic?
That this is an official ceremonial outfit for the Surpreme Court of Canada:
Yes, I considered making Astarion wear it in MA, but I just couldn't bring myself to bully him like that :D
9. How did you get into writing fanfiction?
I sort of slid into fanfiction after many years of failure in the publishing industry. I reached a point where I simply didn't have the energy anymore and I was so burnt out that I wrote very little for several months. Then my boyfriend convinced me to try this video game he was playing and well, the rest is history :D
It's interesting to look back at this now that I feel similarly burnt out with fanfiction and am ready to try my luck again with original work. Maybe I'll keep going through these cycles, but I think the bottom line is that I'll always write in some sort of capacity? And I'm happy with that. It's my favorite thing in the world, so at the end of the day, it's what I want to spend my time on, no matter how successful I am.
14. What makes you happiest? New fic comments, kudos, bookmarks, user subscribers, story subscribers, or Tumblr asks?
Torn between comments and Tumblr asks because while I reread my favorite comments quite a bit and get so much joy out of them even months and years after they were posted, there is something truly special about someone making the effort to look you up on a different platform to engage with you more directly. One of my happiest fandom moments was when a reader sent me an ask in which they inquired about a certain plot element and whether or not that would play a role later on. And somehow, the fact that this one person remembered this tiny detail and cared enough to ask about it made me so emotional that I wrote a whole flashback about it (which I wasn't sure if I wanted to include before). So I guess comments give me the most long-term happiness but Tumblr asks can feel so flattering that they end up reshaping the narrative itself?
17. What is something you recently felt proud of in your writing?
Answered here!
30. Have you noticed your style change over time?
Definitely! To me, the past one and a half years in particular have been all about finding my "style" in English. My first fic, Accountant's Guide, was such an outpouring of creative energy that I didn't even really think about things like style very much when I first drafted it. It was just a story that wanted to get onto the page, which made it a beautifully cathartic writing experience, but not something that can be easily repeated. So after that, I had to sit down and figure out what could be my "normal" modus operandi when I'm not currently riding that super intense creative high.
And now that I'm working on original material again, I definitely have to acknowledge that writing for fandom has made me lean into my overwriting tendencies. Don't get me wrong, there's value in having the creative freedom to give your story as much space as you think it needs (and MA certainly needed more pages than I originally anticipated). But at some point, there's also the danger of getting a little self-indulgent with it. Writing more rather than better, if that makes sense. So now I'm working on brevity -- trying to tell a story in a way that's satisfying and true to the characters' experiences, but also efficient. I just started watching the "Fallout" series, and I was really impressed with how they managed to set things up in the first episode. Introducing the world and the main characters while also going full-throttle on the action sequences, building intrigue and paying homage to the games without confusing newbies like me. Super strong opening. And really, writing is all about the dynamics, I find. The long, sprawling paragraphs hit that much harder if they're interspersed with snappy dialogue and efficient exposition, so this is what I'm trying to embrace at the moment.
Thank you so much for submitting these! I had a blast getting to chat about these things ❤

8, 17, & 30 for the fic writer ask!!
8. if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you'd write one for...
Of the ones I've shared, probably Here's to Not Being in Love. Zoro/Nami's dynamic is so fun to write; I left it open-ended for a reason, because I imagine I'll probably write more for them at some point. I don't have a sequel in the works yet, but if a compelling enough plot bunny should surface in my brain, I'm sure it'll insist upon being written. 😆
Ahhh I nearly forgot!! I intend to write a continuation of A Crisis of Confidence! Isuka doesn't get much appreciation among One Piece fans but I like her and I want to explore her relationships with other members of the Revolutionary Army. I've already penned her interacting with Dragon, so I think next on the docket would be something opposite Sabo. Both pre- and post-Marineford. I expect the latter will be very angsty, and I can't wait to explore it.
17. talk about your writing and editing process
✨The stars align. An idea strikes, either seemingly out of the blue, while discussing characters with my friends, or after hearing a line in a movie/song that hits just right.
Generally I jot down as much as I possibly can (if I'm at work or something I'll loop the idea/scene/dialogue in my head until I have a free moment to type down as much as I remember), key points or words to jog my memory later. I do often have a line or two that I know exactly how I want written. There are no shortcuts or abbreviations of those, I have to write the line out entirely.
After that, once I have a block of time I can more fully devote to writing I fill in the blanks. Whatever flows, whatever works. I am kinda an edit-as-I-go type of writer, though normally at this stage just finding a synonym for a word that works better or fixing the phrasing of a sentence.
If a particular scene is giving me trouble, the draft will remain a cocktail of disconnected snippets (sometimes in the wrong order) until I have a breakthrough with the gaps.
Once the story is penned, I read through it. Usually this stems from a desire to have the manuscript look tidy and neat and complete in my notes app. Along the way I'll make little changes, fix any errors I find, rearrange paragraphs if needed, etc.
After that, I reread it an absurd amount of times. This is motivated by pure enjoyment. I am my target audience so I like reading what I write. 😊 It just so happens that that's how editing works, too. Win-win.
If I'm sending it to a friend, or preparing to share it, I'll give it another pass or two (or three). Normally I don't have much to correct at this point.
I also will reread it again after I've shared a piece to make sure the formatting works, everything flows, etc.
Yep. That about sums it up. 😅 It isn't really a conscious checklist I go thru, just kinda how it ends up working out.
30. share a fic you're especially proud of
I'm proud of all my works! 😁 But one I haven't seen get much love is my seventh Corazon Week piece. Although I believe one of those three kudos is yours already lol.
It doesn't have any relationship tags, which I suspect might be the reason it's not showing up on Cora fans' radar, because the pov character is left intentionally ambiguous. It was an artistic decision I knew might keep it out of search results, and I debated using multiple relationship tags instead to cover all bases but I worried that might come across as baiting so I left it without. I may change it though if I get feedback on that.
Thanks so much for asking! I know my answers tend to get a little rambly, so thanks for your interest! This one was a bit like a behind-the-scenes feature on a DVD! (Prompt list)

twenty questions for fic writers!
tagged by @sunriseverse thank you!!
tagging: @figbian @shark-myths @stoplightglow @zipegs and anyone else who wants to participate (with no pressure if you don't!) questions below the cut :-)
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
currently 65! i've orphaned several over the years though. unfortunately i am an Extremely Slow Writer so i always wanna see this number go up and it never goes as fast as i want it to :') we can hit 67 this year... surely....
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
847,778! used to be higher (more in the 950k range) prior to orphaning, i'm not sure if i've actually written over a million words or not at this point? v excited for the day that milestone actually shows up in my stats though! my current wips could tip me over, we'll see how it goes... 👀
3. what fandoms do you write for?
currently hannibal and stranger things! i've bounced around many fandoms in my day, but my most significant contributions thus far have been for mcr/bandom and the magnus archives. really hoping i end up writing enough for my current fandoms that i can consider them part of that shortlist too!! :-)
4. top five fics by kudos
like a moth to light (like a beast to bait) / 2117 kudos, save that heart for me / 1480 kudos, how particular, my fondness of you / 1445 kudos, convicted criminals of thought / 1177 kudos, and questionable decisions / 847 kudos! wow, that last one took me by surprise, it was such a jokey little fic i often forget about it. nice to look back at these and see things with over 1k kudos though, i remember that being an unattainable pipe dream back when i was writing mcr in the dead era that was 2017 :')
5. do you respond to comments?
i often do! i try to respond to every comment i get when a fic is published, and i like to respond much later on as well, it just tends to slip my mind if it's an older fic. stuff gets lost in my inbox. i certainly read every comment though, and the comments left on older fics are often the ones that make me happiest!
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmmm... i mostly write happy endings unless they're character studies. the true angstiest ending i've written is for a fic i haven't posted yet (hint: it's a sequel to a oneshot of mine!) but i do have short fics about both michael and gerry's deaths in tma? i'll go with the gerry death fic, thinking of the sun.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
they're mostly happy!!! but the one that ends most on a note of Joy, i think, would be rosemary and thyme, my fae!martin au :-)
8. do you get hate on fics?
nah. i have an extremely vague memory of getting a comment that made me go "omg my first hate comment" but like it's so vague that i can't tell if it's a false memory or not 😭 people have always been quite nice to me, thankfully!
9. do you write smut?
i do! i tried to avoid it whenever i could when i was younger but these days i've actually become super interested in sex as a vehicle for character studies. that tumblr post that's like "the plot of this smut fic is that character A believes himself abandoned by god" is one HUNDRED percent my approach recently, definitely expect some of that upcoming on my ao3 lolll
10. craziest crossover?
i don't really write crossovers! i like them in comic/fanart form, but i tend to be less interested in crossover fic (unless it's HEU, i do quite like spacedogs)... the only times i've ever thought about creating crossover content myself were for a couple pacrim fusion ideas!
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
eh, not really. a long time ago i did have someone basically rip the worldbuilding from one of my AUs with the serial numbers filed off, but they did ask permission - i said yes because i was like 16 and felt too awkward saying no. so that was weird! but not quite stealing.
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
yes!! to steal a kiss from borrowed lips was translated into russian, such an honor :D
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
i have, a really long time ago. i don't think i would do it again (unless it was with, like, one of two specific irls) bc i think i'd struggle with figuring out a collaborative workflow. part of me also thinks it could be a fun exercise though...
14. all time favorite ship?
OUGH..... mannnn what a question. it changes every few years and i feel like my response is influenced by not just the source material, but the quality of the fan content and the fandom interactions i've had... you know what? i know i have current-hyperfixation bias, but for now i am gonna say hannigram. it's just too peak.
15. what's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Too Many Of Them - but in particular, my chrissy cunningham-centric longfic. it's an entire treatise on sapphic loneliness and small-town queer isolation and i do think it'd be a fucking masterpiece if i ever managed to commit to it, but it's on the forever back-burner i think.
16. what are your writing strengths?
hmm... characterization through dialogue is the main thing, i'd say. i'm always thinking about how to match a given character's speech patterns and i think i tend to capture their voices pretty well!
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
i'm my own biggest critic so i could list a bunch, but pacing is a big one. i tend to let things run too long and i feel like i've only just managed to balance it better in my current wip... only took a decade of fic-writing to get there 😭
18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?
depends a lot on context. honestly too many thoughts to condense well into an answer for this djglfg but in short: usually nice if it's just a few words, but can get unwieldy otherwise
19. first fandom you wrote in?
kuroshitsuji 💀 self-insert and OC-centric fic. how very unlike me
20. favorite fic you've written?
moth to light has been the reigning champ for a while now, but i think several of my current wips could potentially unseat it!

Tagged by @dodger-chan. Thanks! This was fun! If anyone wants to do it, I'm tagging you
1. How many fics do you have on AO3?
42
2. What is your AO3 word count?
205,076
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Stranger Things, All For the Game, the Raven Cycle, the Shadowhunter Chronicles, Black Sails, Buffy, and whatever my current obsession is at any given time.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Promises (AFTG)
A Yes Isn’t Always a Yes (AFTG)
You Me Her (Stranger Things)
No Assholes in the Car (Stranger Things)
Chance Encounters (Raven Cycle & AFTG crossover)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Usually, yes. If I think too much time has passed, then I get embarrassed and don’t.
6. What if the fic you wrote that has the angstiest ending?
spinning (for you) is quite angsty and is about the slow demise of a relationship between Steve/Eddie.
I Know That I Love You, But I’m Still Learning (To Love Myself) is dark throughout and tells the story of the night Ronan ended up in the hospital. TW: suicide attempt
B’s New Vamp is definitely the fic where I’ve gotten the most comments saying the ending killed them, though I think the ending is quite happy (if not for Faith, the POV character).
7. What is the fic you wrote that has the happiest ending?
This question has made me realize I don’t really write happy fics. Maybe In Another Life or You Me Her?
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not usually. One person told me a fic of mine was “the stupidest most far fetched thing ever” even though I tagged for the plot point they didn’t like. They did say I have great writing though, so I’m choosing to take it as a compliment.
9. Do you write smut?
Not that I’ve ever posted. I would write it if it was important for the characters/scene/plot to show the scene in detail.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I’ve written one! It’s an AFTG and Raven Cycle crossover where Ronan and Nicky meet. You can read it here.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, one of my AFTG fics, Promises, had been translated to Russian. I have no clue where to find it, but the translator was nice enough to report back the comments on the Russian version.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. But I had to co-write an essay for class one time and nearly killed my co-writer/friend, so I don’t see that in my future.
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
That’s a very hard question to answer. But some of my long-time favorites are Andrew Minyard/Neil Josten, Sydney Sage/Adrian Ivashkov, Buffy Summers/Spike, and Magnus Bane/Alec Lightwood. A niche one that had a chokehold on me is Karma/Amy from Faking It.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have three incomplete WIPs posted, so hopefully one of those. I’ve also been working on a Malec time travel fic for about 8 years at this point because I’m stuck on one particular scene, so it would be nice to get past that one of these days.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think my short fics are my best work. Usually they cook in my head for a few days, then come out all at once at four in the morning with tight writing and cohesive themes.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Long fics are definitely a weakness of mine. Also dialogue and fight scenes.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in the fic?
I am guilty of doing this, but find it annoying when it’s long blocks of dialogue with no context clues to decipher what’s happening.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The first fics I published were Buffy fanfics on Dark Solace Elysian Fields. I’m almost certain I scribbled fanfic in my high school notebooks, but I don’t remember what fandoms they were for.
20. Favorite fics you’ve published?
It’s like picking my favorite child. But I do love some of my children better than others.
I’m most proud of my ability to imitate a character’s voice in B’s New Vamp (which also features possible the worst fic summary I’ve ever written).
A Yes Isn’t Always a Yes is the fic I’m probably most proud of overall, especially because of the sensitive subject matter and the lovely comments that some people who related to it left.

Ramblings & Reactions to Deadpool and Wolverine
So for the first time in a long time, I actually went to see a movie on a Saturday night. I figured it's been a minute since I've enjoyed a "summer blockbuster" like I did back in the olden times. (You know, before the world seemed perpetually on fire.) And this particular nerdgasm extravaganza committed to celluloid would be a great distraction after last week's year.
So I decided to go all out and see it on opening weekend and on a Saturday night, no less. (Well, it was the 6:45pm show, but you get the point.)
Anyway, below are some of my thoughts about the film now that I've had a chance to digest it properly. Then, after I digested it, I feasted on it again when I went to see it a 2nd time on Tuesday because I really felt like I missed some jokes, as well as some of the rapid-fire references because I was too busy laughing at the jokes that I didn't miss.
Before I dive in, I am happy to say that I somehow remained relatively unspoiled about the film until the day it opened. Other than a gif of a certain cameo by a certain non-MCU actor that kept showing up on my Tumblr timeline, I went into the cinema completely unaware of who would be in it other than the main villain played by Emma Corrin.
So kudos to the studio for managing to keep a tight lid on this one. That, and it's entirely possible that the interest in superhero movies is so low at the moment that not as many people were trying to spread spoilers or leak clips as they once were.
Anyway, I prefer it that way -- sans spoilers. So with that in mind, if you are the same, please know that you should absolutely stop reading here because I'm about to spoil the hell out of this movie with my honest reactions and poor descriptive skills.
You have been warned.
But as a courtesy, I'm also going to place a little doohicky here so you can't see my spoiler-y goodness so easily as you scroll by.
This commentary is in no particular order. I'm just sharing thoughts about the film as I remember them ...
Although I was never a fan of the classic yellow Wolverine suit from way back when, I have to admit I squee!d with joy when Logan put on the cowl. I still think the body of the suit is awkward and unflattering, but that cowl makes it all worth it.
I was driving on the highway the Monday after seeing the film for the first time and I couldn't help but start laughing every time I saw a Honda Odyssey drive by. That's some pretty effective product placement, Mr. Reynolds. Well done.
I can see why during all the promotional press for this film, Ryan pretty much kept the plot under wraps the whole time. Because once you know the plot, the possibilities kind of spoil themselves. But just in case it blew past you, the very idea of past comic book movie universe characters being thrown into a "void" by a random corporate jackass who decides they're not worthy of our time and attention anymore is some brutal and diabolically meta commentary on the current zeitgeist and our culture of constant consumption.
With that said, I'm glad D&W provided proof that the studio was right to pull the plug on the Gambit solo film, because ... um, yeah. ... Great concept, but he was woefully miscast.
Out of all the fight scenes in D&W, the fight in the minivan was my favorite. Between the fight choreography, the songs playing on the car stereo, the creativity of the camera angles, and the epic -- and I do mean, EPIC -- verbal takedown that Wolverine doled out right before the fight began, it had everything any fan of this genre could possibly want.
Speaking of music, I loved the use of contemporary pop music in this movie. Yes, I know all the Deadpool films use pop music, but for this one, it just felt even more on the money in terms of tone and atmosphere. It was definitely the way to go. Plus, I found myself singing along more than a few times. And in some instances, wanting to dance along too. Especially the opening fight scene with Deadpool using poor Old Man Logan's corpse remains as weapons throughout the entire fight.
I also want to take this time to personally thank Hugh Jackman for putting himself through hell to turn his 55-year-old body into that Adonis statue we caught an eyeful of near the end. I have a feeling that scene will become the cell phone wallpaper of many, many, many fans.
I, for one, am also glad D&W didn't mar the ending of Logan because I honestly feel that movie is pitch perfect. And it wouldn't have had the impact that it did if Logan didn't die in the end. Unlike some, I was fine with Jackman walking away from the character, plus I don't think Marvel is going to come up with a better send-off than 20th Century Fox did.
Back to the shirtless scene -- not that I'm complaining about the fanservice -- but when the atomic reaction caused Wolverine's shirt to explode, why didn't it cause his pants to explode too? I mean ... I'm just asking.
Some of the faces I was really delighted to see in D&W include: Aaron Stanford as Pyro, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and Dafne Keen as X-23. That's not to say that I didn't enjoy Wesley, Chris, Tyler, or the others. But I think I actually felt giddy when I saw Aaron, Jennifer and Dafne appear on screen each time.
It was only via IMDB did I learn that Blake Lively played (or was the voice of) Lady Deadpool and Nathan Fillion was Headpool. That info could be wrong, but their voices sounded about right. I particularly like that bit of trivia because Fillion is the voice of Green Lantern in most of the animated DC films now, and of course, Ryan played Green Lantern in the live action film.
Although I don't understand why Nicepool had long hair when most of the other Deadpools didn't, I kind of liked that look on Ryan. It's a darn shame his head got blown off though. Poor thing. (Tbf, I saw that coming a mile away.)
The one MCU cameo I really wish they could've gotten was Dr. Strange/Cumberbatch. I'm ok with the knowledge that some version of him was in the Void at some point, but I think an onscreen cameo would've been even better.
Wolverine: You got that poor Johnny kid killed! Deadpool: Kid? He's like 50! Me, along with the rest of the audience: ::dies laughing while nodding it's true::
Why yes! I did catch the Stan Lee "cameo" on the side of the bus as Wolverine and Deadpool were tearing through the Deadpools inside the bus. I think it was an ad for a "StanLee Steamer" or something like that and it had Stan's face beside it. Very clever nod to the man himself.
Now here's where I veer from popular opinion. Hold on to your butts: I don't believe for 10 seconds that Henry Cavill would've been treated better in the MCU than in the DCEU. The fact is the only reason the DCEU didn't stand by its vision for their multi-film overarching storyline was because so-called "fans," who cared more about their slavish devotion to some antiquated rivalry between Marvel and DC that had no place on the big screen, insisted on demanding DC films be like Marvel, even though DC clearly cared more about character development and telling stories that explored realistic aspects of humanity instead of churning out vapid, cookie-cutter, meme machines that brought out the worst in the worst people in all of fandom culture. Cavill was mistreated because of MCU fans. Not because WB wanted to mistreat him. If WB had trusted their vision and focused their attention on the feedback from DC fans who are far more "ride or die" than any Marvel fan has ever been, then Cavill would've been treated better. So as a genuine comic book fan who loves all things DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Infinite, Verve, and the like, I have to give a giant middle finger to Deadpool and anyone who agrees with the statement that Cavill would've been treated better in the MCU. You bitches are the #1 reason he wasn't treated better in the first f*cking place. /end rant
Now this is me taking a moment to appreciate the scene in the Borderlands hideout where Ryan and Hugh were both acting with folks they had worked with in other movies in the past. Ryan, of course, worked with Wesley Snipes in Blade 3. And Hugh, of course, worked with Dafne Keen in Logan. But Ryan Reynolds worked with Jennifer Garner in The Adam Project, and Hugh worked with her in the small budget, but very much underrated film Butter.
I'm not going to lie. It warmed my heart to see that Wade had invited Logan back to his home at the end of the film instead of letting him wander off into the sunset. And the fact that Laura/X-23 was there too fed my fanfiction-loving brain. Now I want to read stories of this Logan acting all dad-like to Laura.
That final scene after the credits roll might be the most I've ever heard Chris Evans swear in a film.
Speaking of guest cast, I love that they were able to get so many people who've played their original roles, but I would be remiss to not notice that we unfortunately don't get to see the original Lady DeathStrike, Psylocke or Toad in this. I suspect the budget was kinda blown on Evans, Garner, and Snipes. Which is a fair trade, even though I adore Kelly Hu.
OK, so after seeing it twice now, it appears that the biggest reaction from the 2 audiences I saw the film with came when Chris Evans first appeared and when Wesley Snipes appeared. And if I had to judge by the applause and gasps alone, Wesley definitely got the biggest reaction.
And what can I say about Matthew Macfayden as Mr. Paradox. He was just the perfect amount of smarmy corporate bitchassness you'd expect from villain who thinks he's not a villain. I loved that he got to be funny while also being made fun of. That's not an easy thing to do with a villain without making the audience feel like they shouldn't take him seriously as a threat. And Macfayden knocked it out of the park with his delivery and timing.
Overall, I would say my main appreciation for Deadpool and Wolverine is that it gave us the Deadpool we know and love, but without sacrificing the gravitas and haunted characterization of Wolverine. Somehow, the writers managed to work in just the right amount of idgaf tension, emotional struggle, and forlorn angst to make sure Logan stays true to form and he isn't there to just be the straight man to Wade's shenanigans.
In other words, the humor, fun and fanservice are great, but the heart of what makes Logan one of the best characters in all of comic fandom was not lost for the sake of fanboy feels. Some of my favorite moments in the movie were those scenes with Logan doing his classic tortured brooding as he lamented over his past and his present. The scenes with Laura/X-23 by the fireside and the scene with Cassandra Nova digging into his mind to see what he's hiding were exactly the kind of emotional touchstones that kept the storyline true to character, and really knocked it out of the park for me.
That's all for now!

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Ooh lots of fun questions, thank you @justhugsplz for tagging me <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
25.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
61,430 which is absolutely mind-boggling to me. And of those about 45k are Tatort Wien. Which I started writing exactly one year ago. For comparison, I've been writing fanfic for over 20 years and until I fell into Tatort fandom in 2021 I'd posted less than 3k in total.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Exclusively Tatort Wien at the moment. If I ever manage to peek my head out of that particular rabbit hole, I might get back to some Münster WIPs. Not in the near future, though :D
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Aufgeben -> Der Anruf -> Die Welt in unseren Händen -> Bordsteingespräche -> Loslassen
Haha, Tatort Münster with a little sprinkle of Wien. I don't usually sort by kudos, so it's a bit surprising to see Die Welt in unseren Händen rank so high. Well, high in a range between 75 and 34. That's just how it is in small fandoms :D
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, always. Sometimes it takes a while to get to it. But I always want to take the time and energy to write a proper response, because a) if someone else took the time and energy to tell me how they feel about my story, the least I can do is tell them how much I appreciate them commenting. and b) A comment always feels like the start of a conversation to me. I remember the long comment/discussion threads under fanfic on Livejournal and I miss the community of that. Nowadays it often feels like there's this growing gulf between author and reader, probably because of the current content creator/consumer culture that does little to invite equality or discussion.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Silence, a Torchwood CoE fic about John Frobisher's last moments.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Bordsteingespräche. I'm really proud of how everything came together in the end in that one :)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope, thankfully never.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
If you'd asked me that a month ago, I would have said no. But recently I kind of got over my terminal embarrassment at even trying to write anything smutty. I haven't posted anything yet, but there's several fics/chapters in the works. Tbh I don't find vanilla sex interesting and most of the usual kinks in fanfic are either squicks or a snooze-fest to me. The stuff that I am writing is either weirdly specific kink or just downright unsexy (which my characters are having a frankly outrageous amount of fun with atm, bless them).
I'm a bit hesitant to put any real smut in a fic that isn't actually primarily about the smut. I fear enough people might be put off by that, so hardly anyone would end up reading it then. Bit of a stupid fear to have, perhaps, but still...
(Yes, I know, I should just get over it and simply write and post whatever the hell I want 😅)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I've had a lot of crossover ideas over the years, but the only thing I've ever written was an MCU/Agents of Shield thingie I hacked out during NaNoWriMo a couple of years ago. Let's be honest, that combination is the least crazy crossover of all time and hardly counts as a crossover at all. Like 99% of the stuff I've ever written during NaNo, it's completely horrible, unfinished and should never see the light of day again.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Don't think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've translated Bordsteingespräche myself, but was very unhappy with the result, which is why it's unavailable at the moment. It's going to get reworked at some point.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Many many years ago, when the world was still young and some of you not yet born 😂, the lovely @hope-calaris and I cooked up a tentative plot for a rather ambitious Star Trek: Voyager fanfic. We didn't end up writing that one, but later co-wrote a CSI: Miami one with someone else iirc and I believe there might have been a 4400 (?) fic, also. Due to depression, my memory of that time is hazy at best, though, so it's possible that I'm missing or misremembering things there.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Didn't expect this question to be so difficult to answer, but is kinda is... 🙈 I guess any combination of my 3 Tatort Wien blorbos. Apart from that, Boerne/Thiel and Stephen Strange/Tony Stark are ships I can always come back to.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The aforementioned MCU/AoS time-travel epic.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, especially banter-y dialogue. And editing sentences/paragraphs for maximum impact (when I take the time to do it)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action. What characters are doing, how they're moving, getting them from A to B and so on. Ugh.
External conflict. I despise conflict in real life and find it extremely difficult to write. You won't find an antagonist in any of my current stories or wips. And when I do write conflict between characters, that's always rooted in their internal conflicts and mostly the result of them not communicating properly.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It's very hard to do right. Translations in footnotes are annoying and leave me confused while reading. Translations in brackets behind the dialogue also annoying and missing the point of having different-language dialogue in the first place. It can be good when the author puts enough context there that you can get the gist of what is being said without needing an actual translation.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
X-Files. There's probably some 23-year old notebooks in the back of a drawer somewhere at my mom's house that have fanfic snippets mixed with homework assignments.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Oof, that's another difficult one. I have several that are favourites for different reasons.
Bordsteingespräche for the sheer joy and ease with which it was written.
Kaputt for how much of my heart and soul I'm putting into it.
Die Welt in unseren Händen, because after twenty years of trying and failing I am now finally writing an epic long-form multi-chapter fanfic and I have so many plans and ideas for it. I cannot put into words just how wild that is. And I simply adore this version of my favourite characters.
No-pressure tagging @carlomenzinger, @kathastrophen and @all-my-worlds-a-stage if you want to :)

Tagged by @unfortunatelycake ! Thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
46
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
474,023
3. What fandoms do you write for?
One Punch Man
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
- Metallic Koala, 724 kudos
- We're just helping them, 766 kudos
- Egg x Toaster oneshots, 962 kudos
- Who Is She?, 1813 kudos
- Demon Cyborg's livestream, 2545 kudos
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I'm really bad at doing it, but I love every single one I've received! I guess I don't reply much because it'd mostly be me yelling 'thank you!!' over and over (I do mean it though!)
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't do true angst, but overall I guess it might be The Danger of Trust, in which Kuseno dies. I wouldn't call the ending angsty though.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think practically all my fics have happy endings, most happy, hm... I think I will say the Old Boys series because it implies a long happy life together to get to the point of when the stories take place.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don't -think- so, not on my fics specifically that I can remember anyway.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
It happens. Pretty standard stuff lol.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I don't think I've written any yet...
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've granted permission when asked, but I don't know if the translations were carried out.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not exactly, but many of my fics come out of discussing an idea or concept with friends, using our shared ideas etc. When this is the case it'll say in the fic notes.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Saitama/Genos!
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Years ago I drew a vague monk/fire demon AU thing, which got a fair few likes. I wrote a chapter one for a story about but never could continue it - I don't -have- a rest of the story and it was so long ago that I wouldn't know where to start. I should probably post what I do have to the oneshot collection.
16. What are your writing strengths?
This is really hard for me to answer. I enjoy writing dialogue a lot and I think I'm decent at writing it in a way people actually speak, you know?
I also try very, very hard to finish what I've started. My unfinished WIPs are all things I've never posted, everything I've posted I've finished (or they are series without defined endings that can stand alone).
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Rushing. This shows as poor grammar, typos, rushing through the story in general. I think "filler" content is tough. For the grammar, to some extent I'll also put the blame on english not being my first language.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Not something I typically do. It was a plot point in one oneshot that Saitama learned an english phrase to tell Genos, I think that's the only time I've done it. Although on that subject, it could be funny to write Kuseno and Genos talking in english over Saitama's head lol.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
OPM is my first and so far only.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Oh, that's tough, I'm very self-critical. I like some of my oneshots a lot, it can be fun to build a small story around a particular scene. Three Princesses or Drunken Friends for instance.
For separate works, I enjoy writing Old Boys a lot (and that one started in the Oneshot collection too, ha).

1, 5, 6, 7?
thank you!!! 💚 these are such great questions!
1. Have you pulled inspiration from media sources other than the property your fic is related to (a plot point from a TV show that has nothing to do with the characters/setting of the fic, a line from a book, etc.)? If so, for which story? Why did you find that media source compelling?
oh absolutely. SOO alone can be a bit of a time capsule for what I'm reading, watching, and listening to when writing certain chapters - though I think that shows in the details rather than the plot. (Peeta's grandmother being named Iris -> had just read The Blind Assassin. describing sounds as "kitchen-shaped" that one time -> had just read The God of Small Things, which talks of [character name]-shaped holes in the universe. the rendition of Long Journey Home that Haymitch plays for Katniss -> another Kentucky Route Zero playthrough.)
and, well, it has to be said: Taylor Swift inspires a lot of my writing for Haymitch. like it always has but now I run over an hour at a time listening to mostly pop music, a good deal of which is Taylor Swift, while daydreaming about my fanfiction, the brunt of which involves my blorbo, so. it's probably why my take on him skews a little softer and more inward than others as well as kind of melodramatic. meanwhile, Hazelle only got the Swiftie treatment in her most recent pov chapters and it felt SO OFF but it had to be done! it had to be done.
5. Is there a tiny detail in one of your fics that you feel goes tragically unnoticed?
hmm maybe this line from Chapter 26: To and From,
Hazelle could roll her eyes at this bluff. But then she remembers herself. She takes his hand instead, squeezing it once - only once - and lets go. "Thank you."
I went back and forth on whether to keep only once because it can potentially mean. a lot. depending on how you read into it - but nobody's commented on it at all, hahaha
for context: Hazelle has a little ritual in her family where three hand squeezes = I love you, that's returned with four - I love you, too.
so um. 🧍🏻♀️
(tbf, this is a callback that's shown/mentioned once toward the beginning of the story. I don't expect everyone to keep up, esp not for a story so long. and it's on me to actually sell those lines, ya know?
and anyway, to me, it's less about Hazelle acknowledging that she loves Haymitch and more that she's self-conscious of herself & her feelings for him.)
6. What is your favorite type of feedback to receive (favorites/kudos, comments, DMs, complete and utter silence in the pursuit of remaining unperceived?)? If comments or DMs or anything else involving a reader writing, do you have a particular type of feedback that excites you more than other types?
comments!! I also love DMs and tumblr asks - the latter of which I still count as comments, just on another website. :) I get really excited when they analyze the story and share reactions to certain lines/scenes :) I love getting feedback that tells me I've achieved what I set out to and that others are not only 'getting it,' but also enjoying it! :))
7. Share a line or paragraph you’ve written that you don’t think will ever actually be posted in anything! (Or, if you don’t hoard cut sentences and passages like I do, share anything you want that has yet to see the light of day!)
I've had this in the hoarding/dumping ground section of the SOO outline for *a decade* at this point and Idk if it's gonna make the story, lmao:
Posy skips up to him with her hands cupped gingerly together. "I like butterflies," she declares. She lifts her finger toward his face, and when its wings flutter, Haymitch flinches. "Aren't they pretty?" "Very pretty," he agrees, his voice tight. The sun feels hotter on his skin, and he recalls how temperate the arena felt, how it could lull him into feeling its comfort. The butterfly muttations stung like a dozen hornets in one and left burning, pulsing weals along his exposed arms and neck. In retrospect, if he had any more skin exposed, he could’ve been so incapacitated that he’d have been found and killed without a fight. Those thoughts used to keep him up at night after his homecoming - all the ways he might've just been another cannon fire to Panem. He feels a hand on his forearm, right where one of the stings was, and startles.

Ao3 Ask Game
Thanks @changethecircumstances It's been a while since I've done one of these ask games (BTW I am always down to do more if people send them my way)
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 80
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 1,073,622.
That's...that's 13k er story roughly.
That's a lot.
3. What fandoms do you write for? The fandoms I've written for are varied but are almost exclusively video game fandoms. Currently I write for Alan Wake/Control (despite only playing Control) and Overwatch, but before that I was writing for the Yakuza/Like a Dragon/Ryu ga Gotoku fandom, Detroit: Become Human, Apex Legends and Dynasty Warriors.
4. Top five fics by kudos Oh god, I'll go in order.
DPD (Detroit: Become Human: Reed900) — What started as my riff on Brooklyn99 romance comedy mixed with police procedural became this beast about trying to make a difference and belonging. My most popular by like DOUBLE second place.
Pain and Pleasure (Disco Elysium: Harry/Kim) — It's an NSFW fic about consensual choking. Fun fact, I had NOT played the game at this point nor do I even OWN it, I just saw bits of a walkthrough and no one had written about the obvious kink so I took it upon my mortal hands. You're welcome
Sparks fly (Disco Elysium: Harry/Kim) — Fun story: so remember last paragraph where I said I hadn't played the game? I won't reveal why but I got gifted a copy of Disco Elysium by a kind then-stranger and I had to pay back with 10K words worth of smut on a niche kink. It was fun though, I do still love this fic.
Drinking games (Detroit: Become Human: FOUND FAMILY PLATONIC HankCon) — My first DBH fic. I showed this one to my dad because I figured the story was cute and not romantic and comedic enough that he would enjoy it. Then he thought Connor was a literal child, and then a child robot, and that Hank was an abusive dad.
Safe to say after having that fic misinterpreted so badly motivated me to try and make my stories relatively standalone (and also never show even my SFW stuff, because it's one thing if family don't like or get what you write but it is ANOTHER thing when they completely misinterpret it LOL)
Experimental design (Sonic movie: Stobotnik) — Abandoned but not forgotten. I had big plans for it exploring Stone's origins,
5. Do you respond to comments? Usually. Sometimes I forget and sometimes I worry about spamming people with 'Thank yous' when I can't think of anything else to say, especially on repeat commentors, but in general yes
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Depends on your definition of angst. If you want a sad cry angst where literally everybody dies, that will have to be my Harry/Kim fic Despite everything. If you want angst in a more messed up horrible sense, that'll be my recent Zaneling fic CONFIDENTIAL: Burning and drowning. I don't typically write angst endings though.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Aside from the smut? I think that will have to be the everyone reunites and is a family together ending for my Sigrold fic, Evil actions and good intentions.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Never directly, and almost never directly. Apart from one instance where a very particular shipper made a vague post suggesting I was orientalist (despite BEING HALF-ASIAN MYSELF) everyone seems to like my works! Which is nice, I hope it means my stories are good.
9. Do you write smut? A fair bit, but it is admittedly not easy for me to write. When I do, it's never PWP. At the very least, I like to play on the buildup, the foreplay if you will. Set the scene. It's easier to say I write plot with porn LOL
10. Craziest crossover? I never actually write crossovers, but one unfinished WIP I had based on a tweet was going to be Austin Powers x Bayonetta, which basically had Austin Powers replace Luka. This was before Bayo 3, so I was gonna play it semi-serious and have Austin Powers be revealed to be a Lumen Sage himself. Play it like Austin Power 3 kinda.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of. Hopefully never happened. Most likely never happened since I tend to write for either obscure ships or obscure fandoms.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? A few times, always with permission which is nice.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? The only time I think I co-wrote a fanfic specifically it wasn't quite a co-write since the other person did a normal fanfic and I did a TWINE TEXT ADVENTURE. I'm just crazy like that.
14. All time favourite ship? I think by just sheer amount of time and energy put in, at this stage it's Sigrold (Sigma x Dr Harold Winston for the uninitiated). Maybe it's because Dr Harold Winston has changed so much he's basically my glorified OC, maybe I like old men yaoi where at least one of them is a scientist, maybe it's the fact I'm currently writing an original novel that features two characters that are essentially OC-fied versions of Sigma and Harold. Whatever the reason, they just have a grip on me that I'll never let go of.
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? The aforementioned Experimental design. I had quite a few plans for it, but I think Disco Elysium kinda took over the brain and I could only focus on one fandom at a time. While I still love the Stobotnik ship, I don't think I'll have the motivation to finish this fic.
16. What are your writing strengths? I think personality and tone are my strengths. I like to inject a bit of humour into conversations and add some of my own original flair into all my works, but I also try to put the character's personality into the internal narration even when it's 3rd person. Last thing I want is for my work to be mistaken for the writing style of another.
I also try and play with the tone where I can, have it be fun and then tense. I hope I'm funny in some of my writings.
I've also been told by some people from non-English speaking backgrounds that my writing style is easy to read? That one, I cannot claim to be the authority on, but I hope people like it.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Spellchecks and grammar checks, for one. If I had beta readers I might be able to catch it but alas I don't, so any errors I make often goes unnoticed. I also have a bad habit of repeating words within paragraphs. It annoys me when I see them and it annoys me when I read it.
As for my stylistic stuff, I like my run-on sentences. I can't help it, it has to go on and on and on.
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? Coming from a multicultural background, I don't mind dialogue in another language. I usually try and keep the raw original sentence or phrase, and either use context narration or worst case leave a footnote as to what it translates to.
19. First fandom you wrote in? Dynasty Warriors of all things. My longest fic by far is in that fandom. I liked Liu Shan, nobody else did, so I had to take matters into my own hands. Is it any good? Probably not, but you have to look at your old stuff and be amazed at how far one has come since then. Also I might wanna revisit that fanfic for an original piece, who knows?
20. Favorite fic you've written? God where do I begin? For my recent works, I have to say my Zaneling masterpiece Kill your Darlings since it's got a little bit of everything and it sets up a nice little AU I've been currently chipping away at. I was in a frenzy, I planned everything out and aside from minor changes I got almost everything written as I planned. A first for me!
On the more somber side, in Disco Elysium I'd say Ghost within nightmares as a character exploration of Kim Kitsuragi and Harrier du Bois (and in the game's style too).
NSFW-wise, it's a toss up between the Disco Elysium Sparks fly and the Overwatch Not my fault for different reasons. Mostly because I feel like I played with some unconventional kinks in a fun way.
And I can't forget the fic that started it all, the Liu Shan/Xingcai Dynasty Warriors fanfic A marriage written in the stars. Definitely have to revisit it one day in the future.
I tag anyone who sees this to do it if you haven't already

Thanks for the tag @ladysongmaster!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
61! wow, can you believe that??
2. What's your total A03 word count?
419,898 sheesh
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Star Wars. My favorite era is the clone wars, but I find rebels much easier to write about
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Blazed but not with weed, more like pain that just never goes away
I Promise
May Flowers
To see in the dark
Dance Until the Dark of Dawn
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do my best! Comments are the lifesource for my writer brain so I always want to show my appreciation by responding. plus it gives me an excuse to unload more of my ideas that didn't make the final cut
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Baby it's cold fs takes the cake 💀 I straight up murdered the lad
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
idk I feel like most of my fics have happy endings? or at least I try to make them happy. lol looking through all my fics now I realize some of them aren't as sweet as I recall in my brain parts. I think it's between Rooster and An Octopus by Any Other Name. The Rooster one is solidly set in a star wars fix-it verse where everyone lives and goes on fun little adventures + anakin is a good dad but also the octopus one is pure Horsemen fluff and cuddling on the couch for movie night so the choice is difficult to make
8. Do you get hate on fics?
not that I remember!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
only in my semi-conscious skull before I fully wake up in the morning and fellas that kriff is so nasty you don't want to know
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
eh, not particularly my cup of tea, mostly because it'd take a lot of effort to piece two self-sustaining stories together BUT it is a ton of fun and I do appreciate crossovers a lot. Don't think I've written any
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Don't think so. but like, fic is already... plagiarism...? so,,,,,,,,,, I wouldn't really mind if someone did copy my ideas :/ look as long as we're all having fun
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
nah. I've thought about doing one or two myself, but I haven't got much interest from readers
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not one that I've ever published 😅
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
kriff bro idk. not sure if I have one that really feels like home to me, yk? but kanera is definitely up there, along with anidala and rexsoka
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
don't make me choose just one I started a bad batch rewrite centered around a Jedi OC who survived the Purge and joined the squad and fell in love with Hunter. She's super cool and I love her, but I haven't had the energy to return to the canon plot so now I'm just sitting out roughly 80k of her being a traumatized dork craving deodorant with a vengeance
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'd like to say my cadence is pretty proficient. I have to work for it, but when I try I can make my writing pretty rhythmic and that's super fun, especially when writing angst or scenes with poetic tones
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
this is super specific but I have a hard time pacing the descriptions and general imagery throughout a scene. Usually I get so caught up in the introspection of the character that I forget to mention what time of day it is or where they're having this particular conversation or how they got from point A to point B
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'll give it a shot whenever it feels appropriate for the character. Though if the language in question isn't one I'm proficient in, I tend to just skirt around using it. I'd rather write the necessity for it out of the equation than miscommunicate. Single words is fine most of the time, since those have the easiest meanings to confirm and I'm less likely to make a grammar infraction
19. First fandom you wrote for?
pretty sure it was Percy Jackson! that was fr my first fandom ever. definitely the first fandom I did fanart for too!
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Blazed holds a very special place in my heart even though I have to drag myself kicking and screaming to the doc to work on it. That fic is the perfect embodiment of my fandom journey: excessive, dramatic, poor pacing and characterization, utter disregard for canon, started out as a one-shot and now approaches 140k with an undetermined number of chapters yet to come

hiii thank you so much for all that you do! i love finding new and old fics through this blog! and thank you in advance for helping with this!
theres this fic ive been trying to remember the name of, i think it might be well known within the community, it was definitely on ao3 and definitely a drarry fic, the only particular plot point im remembering though is that pansy went away to america and married some rich american guy during the war and comes back a few years later with her kids (one of which she named after draco) to help harry get back together (or get together?) with draco, i think harry might have reached out to her for advice? and they meet up in a hotel i think and i remember harry being shocked by how extravagant it is, this wasn't the main plot point of the fic i think but the most specific detail i could recall if it rings a bell for anyone i just know it's going to nag me if i cant remember the fic lol, thanks again for all of your help!
We believe you are looking for The flight instinct, Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows series by newleaves.

A promo post to my writing. Buckle up- my entire writing process is just Family Guy Funny Moments
ABOUT: Sun x GN! Reader
WARNINGS: Light mention of NSFW thoughts
CONTENT CONTAINS: Fluff
Part 1?
🌞Thursday mornin’ Rain🌞
Working inside the pizzaplex wasn’t your first choice. Through the murmurs of the grape vine you had heard more than enough to raise your suspicions about the ditzy place. Kids going missing? A big no thanks from you. Fuck what the others had said, you had a pretty based keen-to-survival mindset. Nonetheless, you applied to the job; a daycare attendant co-assistant. What a mouth full.
[Why you applied? The pay, of course! What’s a Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria™️ story without a desperate scrooge who needs money? Remember your roots, people. I didn’t burn my eyes into the AM on Quotev for nothing]
You had applied to the job almost as a joke, planning to never get a call back from the establishment. Figuring they were too backed up on so many teens wanting to work there for the free drinks and plot-points, you could consider your mind boggled at the phone call you received not even a week after you sent your application in. They were desperate for work in the Daycare area. Practically whining over the phone about how much they needed your help. It struck a certain string in your heart. The money string. 20 whole bucks an hour? You son of a bitch, I’m in.
It had been almost 3 months you had worked there now. Within a week, you could see why the pizzaplex was so in need of a daycare attendant co-assistant. The main attendant was fucking nuts! Who would’ve thought someone would program an animatronic to be so maniacal and anxious, especially around children. You had to give the Sun some kudos. How he hadn’t lost his shit yet blew your mind.
Other workers even guffawed at your ability to maintain your composure for so long. Some seemed even fearful of you. An ego-booster on your behalf, yet still questionable to the poor bastards who slaved away in the kitchen or worse, the nightguard duty. One particular interaction left you thinking, though.
“Yeah, yeah. Vanessa, was it? What do you want?”
The question left your mouth in a venom-like spit, fed up from your long day and ready to go home. Vanessa, the new night guard, stopped you just a few feet from the exit doors of the pizzaplex, buzzing from a ‘question she’s been meaning to ask you for a while’,
“What’s it like working with him? Them? The both of them?”
Her green eyes bore into yours, her lips formed into a straight line. A scowl grazed your upper lip as you began to walk away, flipping your hand around at her,
“Why do you want to know? It’s not your job anyways. Worry about your own-“
You were cut short when Vanessa had abruptly grabbed your wrist, stopping your movements completely. Not because she had stopped you, but because of the pure audacity she had to grab you like that,
“But don’t they, yknow, scare you? I’ve heard all the stories about the last workers there. Sun maybe a bit less than that Moon guy, but still! I’ve had a few interactions with Moon myself, not something i’d like to keep a habit of.”
She was talking out of her ass at this point, mumbling on about something you didn’t seem to be interested in anymore. You snatched your wrist away, glaring cold ice into her eyes,
“They aren’t that bad, Vanessa. They both mean well, just don’t be a prick.”
You hadn’t even noticed you were defending them until Vanessa gave you a puzzled look. You flushed at the realization, stuffing your hands in your pockets and looking away,
“Don’t judge a book by its cover.”
It was the final thing you said before quickly storming away from the woman and into the outside world. How cliché.
It left your mind running later that night. Why had you gotten so worked up over a simple, and well deserved, question? You were just defending your friends, right? No, nonsense. You knew better than that. You turned in your bed, staring up at the popcorn ceiling. The thoughts almost screamed in your mind,
“You dirty robot fucker! You like the daycare attendants!”
Placing your hands over your eyes, you groaned. The voices were right. Over the pan of the almost 3 months you’ve worked there, you had grown quite fond of the Sun and their counterpart. They treated you well, they cared for you, even dare you say, they loved you. It was sappy and gut wrenching, but man, did you enjoy the thought of being spoiled by them. That’s when you came to the conclusion as to why you stayed there for so long.
You wanted to bone the Sun robot.
Now that it had crossed your mind, it didn’t seem so bad to like the animatronic. He was sweet, he never did any harm, and every interaction you had with him left you swooning.
You slept with a smile that night.
________________________
Your morning shift had called earlier than you wanted it to. Eyes bagged and laden with crust. It was a Thursday, almost time to kiss the work place goodbye, and welcome the weekend and soap opera on your television. It wasn’t anything you couldn’t handle. You’d been doing it since your prime. Ah, high school. You didn’t miss it.
You walked into work with a signature rbf, fixing the ruffles of your suit. [Oh, did i forget to mention? They make you wear an outfit. You look adorable, don’t worry.] You heaved a sigh, clocking in for your shift, and heading towards the daycare. The music rapidly increased in volume as you approached. It was catchy, sometimes you caught yourself nodding along to the goofy ass beat. You were doing it now, even. Shaking your head, you pushed your way into the daycare,
“Sunshine!!”
The greeting rung through the air almost immediately, your sun-clad co-worker frolicking over to greet you. He grabbed your sides, spinning you around once before sitting you back onto the stable ground,
“I missed you! We missed you! An entire night without seeing you, you! We have so many fun activities planned! Yes! If we could just-“
He frowned. If that was even capable of the robot. His energy deflated, rather,
“Star! You look absolutely exhausted!! Didn’t Moon tell you about your sleep schedule? Hm? Hm?”
You grumbled out a half-assed excuse of sorts, shrugging it off your shoulders,
“Just a long night. I’m okay, really.”
You assured him, patting his hand, that was still resting on your waist, lightly. Sun shook his head frantically in response,
“Don’t worry, nope!! I have just the right activity for us!! I do!”
You looked down at your FazWatch, provided to you by the company once you had started working there. It was 5:30 AM; 30 minutes to kill before kids would start showing up. You looked back up at him,
“I got half an hour, Sun. What do you have in mind?”
He let out a rumbling laugh of excitement, sliding his hands off of your waist to grab your wrist and drag you along the daycare. Sun settled on a play mat, getting comfortable before dragging you down with him, right into his lap. After your conclusion last night, it was obvious as to why your face got so hot so quickly. It didn’t go unnoticed, either,
“Oh! Sunshine, you’re all flushed! Are you sick? Are ya? Are ya? Is that why you didn’t sleep well?”
How clueless you truly were, you sweet thing,
“Not sick, sun. Just sleepy.”
You closed your eyes for a brief moment. Thinking back to when you first worked here, you despised it. It was fishy, suspicious as fuck, and over all a death trap with hunky sentient machines. But god bless they get a law suit. Gotta keep those bad reviews under the wrap with a free dance pass and 1 year to the bowling alley. What a bummer!
Now you loved the place. Whether it be from the copious amounts of orange flavored fizzy faz seeping into your conscious brain cells, or the fact you lay snuggled up with the welcomingly warm robot, you were content with the thought of being happy here. You sighed inwardly. Sun was saying something above you, tapping his fingers against the exposed skin of your calves. Though, you didn’t listen. Instead, you drifted into a 30 minute power nap.

✨what’s a fic you’ve posted you wish you could breathe life into again and have people talking about it? (or simply a fic you wish got more credit)
I could talk about Up, Up, and Away! again, but I feel like I’d sound like a broken record; so instead let me talk about The Three Caballeros (and Della)! which is a fic that ain’t exactly popular and is something I desperately want to continue but can’t cause I got other stuff I wanna work on
In case the title isn’t a dead giveaway, the story stars Della and Donald and also features José and Panchito. It’s a pre-canon story that takes place when the Duck Twins are young adults and “borrow” the Cloudslayer to go to Mexico for Spring Break while Uncle Scrooge is away on a business trip
The story is essentially a coming of age story about Della and Donald where they’re at different points in their lives: Della contempt with the adventure life she’s living with her Uncle and brother, while Donald wants to get away from all that and wants to move on with his band mates. Also he wants to get laid
This fic idea came to me after watching The Three Caballeros for the first time and realizing that the story is essentially Donald trying to get laid while his two boyfriends introduce him and talk about their respected cultures. It’s a fun movie, you just gotta watch a lame donkey cartoon before the good stuff finally happens
Besides The Three Caballeros, I’d say some other influences for this story are Don Rosa’s The Three Caballeros Ride Again (the stuff I have planned for later are definitely inspired by this story), A Goofy Movie, Superbad, the War-Time era Disney animated movies, and the song Spring Break Anthem by The Lonely Island
This was the first thing I wrote that wasn’t Indi-Quack! and I remember the first time I posted it, I felt that it didn’t get the reaction I was hoping for. But I learned that overtime, people can still stumble upon your work no matter how old. Every now and then I get kudos for this story and a few times I’ve gotten feedback from people who enjoyed the first chapter and are on board for the story
So yeah, I haven’t given up on it yet. I hope to breathe life into again soon
💞what’s the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language
The characters. Definitely the characters. They’re the ones you have to spend the entire story with. They’re your guide for the story. You could have a story with excellent worldbuilding and a well-thought out plot, but the whole experience would be ruined for me if the characters I’m with suck or just don’t feel right
Whenever I write anything the characters’ dialogue and actions are always something I obsess over. If I plan on using a character in one of my stories I try to give them something to do. Whether it be playing a part in the overall story or just having a memorable line or moment
I always tell myself if I’m adding a character tag for this fic, chances are someone is clicking on my fic for that particular character. So do their blorbo justice
💥find your least kudos’d fic - say something wonderful about it.
Okay, now I’ll talk about Up, Up, and Away!. Out of all my stories, I think this is the one where I’m really happy how I wrote everyone in that story. Not just the main characters
I loved writing for both Tuskerninni and Splatter Phoenix. They’re both Darkwing Duck villains I think are a lot of fun and would’ve definitely fit right in the DT17 universe. I loved giving them their respected origin stories, where we see Phoenix before she gets her powers and Tuskerninni is just a working actor like Drake. They’re going to show up again later in the story as villains, but I love that they appeared in the first story of this series and that the other villains I plan on having got a little mention from the other characters in the story. Also the OC villain I made up for the story was just a fun excuse to come up with bad pun jokes so that’s always fun
Besides the villains I loved all the heroes. Della Duck being a supportive mother just doing her best to help her kids out in their respected hobbies. Webby being enthusiastic about making a movie simply because it’s about her own family. Violet and Lena being sisters and just on board with the idea cause they’re Webby’s friends. Huey being a big nerd as well as a good big brother. And of course Louie, I love making that kid plot and scheme while also being a good brother. It’s just fun writing for how he sees the angles of any situation
Also I love the running gag where Louie and Lena fight for shotgun
Launchpad I can’t help but feel sorry for because of how desperately he wants to continue working for the McDucks but also wants to work as Drake’s sidekick which is a lot to juggle for him. Drake is also struggling with a lot of things such as taking care of Gosalyn, getting work as an actor, and being a hero for a city that doesn’t appreciate him and the work does
Fenton is someone I love writing for but struggle with at times. He’s a dummy, but he’s not an idiot. I don’t ever want him to come across as hopeless. For the Fendra stuff in the story I wanted to show the two be dynamic duo where both parties bring something to the table, whether it be doing superhero or spy stuff and I think I did a good job with that
As for the Dewey, Gandra, and Gosalyn; I had a lot of fun with these three and can’t wait for when I can finally have these three together. A lot of setup with this trio and we got some interactions between them in the story. Dewey and Gosalyn text one another in the first chapter; and for the climax Dewey helps Fenton and Gandra with their superhero battle. The Dewey and Gandra interaction is probably my favorite part of the story
I see a lot of parallels with these three characters and hopefully the readers saw them too when they read this story. But it is only the first story in the series. Hopefully I can finish the follow-up sometime in the near-future
