HOW WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO TREAT YOU? An L drabble

AN: Admittedly, I think I was just trying to write L. This ha no relevant substance whatsoever!! It's awfully dry, and immature--- so please take it with a grain of salt. I just wanna try writing L as a character and how I think his quirks would take action in a relationship, which I'd say I didn't execute properly here, i'm sorry.:( if you want, please grant me suggestions/requests! I wanna see if I can explore the complexities of his character more. (P.S ignore the yap if you want. there might be grammatical errors! Possibly OOC L.)

It’s easily unsettling how someone like L could exist. He sits across you, you hold back the urge to mutter an obscenity towards the older man driving, Watari, for your calamity. L caused you distress, in ways you never thought would irk you—whether it came to him spoiling a novel you were invested in to the tee, or him eating so much sweets and food in one sitting it makes you gag. You hold your hands, sweat builds up, causing moisture to seep through your palms, your eyes try to maintain focus on the scenery you pass by, fleeting, a distraction.

You see a slight reflection of L in the window, it was eerie, straight from a horror movie, you’d argue. He parts his lips, smiling erratically, it was unnerving. His thumb rests at his lips.

“You’re purposely ignoring me,”

You take a shallow breath, finally meeting those empty pits he calls his eyes. 

“I was.”

“Why?”

You shrug, before looking away. You feel the cushion beside you dip, you pray you would hit a road bump and L would tumble over. To your tragedy, Watari was a meticulous driver. He assured no bumps or shifts would be driven over, at least if possible. He was careful, smooth, another factor to your sorrow.

L’s hair tickles your shoulder, you see his reflection once more. He looked even more uncanny, how are you here?

“Eerie.” You mutter.

“Me?” He retorts, his tone was blank.

“Yes.” You breathe out, your fingers twitch.

“What do you want, L?” You shakily mumble, your chance to portray confidence was a futile and sorry attempt. Against L, no amount of confidence can save you from that stare. It could shatter even the biggest ego’s of man, you’ve seen it yourself.

“Your company, you are a very poor guest.”

“We’re dating..” 

“We are.”

Then silence echoed throughout the car. You finally turn your head and meet his gaze. 

“You treat me like a specimen, it’s.. Scary.”

“Is it? Elaborate.”

You sigh, trying to look for the right words.

“Traditionally, partners are softer with one another, fonder—if you will.”

“Am I not fond?”

“Ah—...are you?”

“I am.”

“...I'll pay more attention, then.” You retort.

“That’s not necessary.” He hums. 

“It’s clear you are unable to identify when I am being softer with you compared to others,”

“Would you prefer if we did traditionally romantic exercises?”

Once again, you prove to be indecisive, you shrug. 

“I guess,”

He nods, putting his hands on top of his knees as he somehow manages to slouch forward even more. 

“Let’s go on a date,” he suggests.

“Outside?” You ask.

“No, don’t be foolish.” He mutters instantly, tone reserved, somehow it sounds harsher when his disappointment is directed towards you.

“Sorry.” You grumble.

“Let us arrange it later,”

“We’re here.”

Somehow, L trying to court you in a traditional manner, was even scarier than L courting you now.

Maybe you didn’t mind his.. Catatonic way of expressing his vulnerability with you. Does that make sense? Suppose not.

Aroace lawlight where they really are just partners. Partners in detective work. Possibly in crime, depending on the mood. Partners that share every meal together. Get ready together in the morning. Will argue about their next vacation plan that Light makes them take. Partners that may share lap space if needed. Partners that go to sleep in the same bed every night. Have matching chairs. And all sorts of furniture and kitchen dishes.

Though sometimes Light may run off to let out some steam and commit a line of gruesome murders, to which L will go and catch him and bring him back home. Every time this happens, they will spend the remaining few days as though they are in post coital bliss.

They adore eachother, having someone they feel seen and comfortable with, no expectations for something "more." But they are eachother's special person, and they love having a partner in their lonely lives.

Oh and they get married for tax purposes.

IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH: L LAWLIET

✩ ‧ ˚. synopsis: he has a high fever, but he won't let you take care of him.

contents: gn!reader. fluff. mentions of mild sickness. first time writing for L (my new hyperfixation!)

“ryu, you can’t seriously work like this,” you insist, tugging at the sleeve of L’s shirt. he doesn’t respond until you snatch the half-eaten pastry out of his hand. “i’m serious!”

L turns and looks at you disbelievingly. “i’m fine,” he responds indifferently, not seeming to notice the red blush spreading throughout his face. “it’s not bad enough to keep me from the investigation,” he adds, making an attempt to retrieve his snack from your outstretched hand.

“you have a fever,” you say pointedly, taking a bite of the sugary sweet. L makes an unimpressed face and sighs, posture worsening even more—is that even possible?—before he turns back to his computer. 

“i can’t even feel it,” L insists, sticking out his bottom lip. you reach out and brush some of his hair out of his eyes, resting the back of your hand on his forehead. either your boyfriend has an otherworldly resistance to sickness or he’s lying, because he’s burning up.

you sigh and let your hand fall from L’s forehead to his cheek, fingers tracing his jawline as you watch him scroll through some sort of legal document. obviously, he’s not going to stop working without a reason, so you try a different approach. “L, if you’re sick, does that affect your deductive skills?”

L’s fingers still around the computer mouse, ceasing his scrolling as he looks back up at you. “i guess.”

“so you shouldn’t be working on a really important case while you have a high fever, right? or you could miss something.” 

he scrunches up his nose in response and thinks for a long second. “why are you trying so hard to get me to stop working?” L asks, narrowing his eyes. he tilts his head in genuine curiosity—which is funny, because you think it should be obvious.

you shrug in response, a small smile growing on your lips. “shouldn’t you know already?” you tease, poking his cheek playfully. L looks at you blankly, giving no discernable reaction—like always. “you’re impossible,” you huff, crossing your arms childishly.

“answer the question.”

“because i care about my boyfriend. sue me.”

L blinks, a flicker of surprise shining in his dark eyes. he doesn’t respond, but he does stand up and take your hand, cold fingers tangling with yours as he lets you lead him away. “thank you,” he murmurs, and his voice is almost quiet enough for you to miss his words entirely. you squeeze his hand in response—no need for words.

he rests his head on your shoulder as you exit the dark, shaded investigation room. "can i have the last bite?" he asks tentatively, pointing at the remainder of his pastry that's left in your other hand. you laugh a little and nod, pausing in front of a flight of stairs to feed L the last sugar-filled bite.

L's lips close around the flaky pastry and brush against your fingers, and even with the added blush from his fever, his face noticeably goes a shade pinker.

"you're so cute, ryu," you mumble, brushing away the crumbs that linger around his lips with your thumb. he hums in reply, shadowed eyes closing as he rests his cheek in your palm.

"i'm tired."

"then let me take care of you for a little," you insist, watching as he reopens his eyes and looks back at the ajar door of the investigation room. "please?"

"fine. a couple hours, then i have to get back to the case."

"m'kay, m'kay."

(he ends up falling asleep in your arms and doesn't wake up for seventeen hours straight—but when he does, his fever's gone!)

holding L's cheeks in your hands and oh fuck are they cold, just like stone but far more soft. He doesn't seem bothered, accepts the warmth of your hands, but surely, surely they aren't so cold all the time? Perhaps. Perhaps they are. They're tinged pink now, though, and L tends to show embarrassment through other ways than blush, so perhaps not. It's winter, not by the calendar but by the weather, and bundled up as he is you can tell it wasn't enough to keep him warm outside – bad circulation, maybe. The bottom of your hands brush against the cream scarf around his shoulders as you readjust, his head bent and eyes wide to observe all he can, and you pinch his cold pink cheeks and he falls in love, again.

thinking of yandere L...

he's always busy yet manages to make time for you, because you're just as important (maybe a little less) than his daily dose of sugar. he makes you listen to his rants, something about a criminal that you tuned out moments ago because L said 4 'buts' in the span of a minute.

he probably stalked you before you even knew about him. knowing the full layout to your house and the easy access of your porch, you really make him worried y'know? the door is too easy to lockpick, do you want to get kidnapped??? :( you're hurting his feelings.

he orchestrates little bump ins with each other, no matter what you just keep seeing him at the same places as you! it's not like he didn't spend the day checking the cameras around you just to predict your movement hahahaha that's crazy dude. you're crazy and you shouldn't question him!!!

most definitely swiped stuff from your apartment. all those shirts you thought were going to the thrift store? wrong, they're over at his house now, which is just as good because he's repurposing!

Why is the first drabble I post here. 

Short drabble for @dukeofdelirium Bc we both wanted to see a bloody lawlight makeout sesh

The handcuffs did nothing to deescalate the fight, in fact it probably made it worse. When L kicked Light across the room, he came with, landing on top of Light with a pained huff. The two of them spit nonsense, they both knew things the other didn’t, could see what the other was, and what they were afraid to be.

They were incomplete without each other, yet unconsolable when paired. Light’s fist connected hard with the side of L’s face but he barely winced from the impact, and was quick to hold down Light’s cuffed hand with his own. 

Metal grated against skin, chafing until blood was drawn from the source. L licked his lips as he wrestled with light’s hands, tasted the metallic carmine before he felt it drip down his chin and onto Light’s face. 

Light grimaced as L licked up the blood from his lip, just to be knocked back by another punch to his ribs. This time Light was able to get to his feet, wrapping the metal chain around L’s neck as he knelt behind him, 

“Tap out, L, Admit that I won,”

L squirmed in his hold, elbowing Light’s abdomen until the chain loosened enough for him to unhook his hand and pull it, hard. 

Light tripped over L’s stature, falling face first into the ground, when he lifted his chin to glare his smile was laced with blood. 

“Tired?” L asked, seated innocently, his extended legs inches away from Light’s face. 

Light wrapped his hand once around the chain and yanked, L flying forward into Light’s fist. “You are insatiable!” He growled as he punched at L’s face, but his grin never diminished and that made Light all the more angry. 

He couldn’t win against an opponent as stubborn as L. 

Light was breathing hard against L’s bloodied face, setting his skinned knuckles to the side of his head. 

“Give up,” He exhaled, staring into L’s half-lidded eyes. 

L smiled before using both feet to kick Light off of him, sending them both hurling into the wall. Light groaned as L was quick to climb over him, and he felt a warm stream of red drip down the side of his face. 

“You’re bleeding Light,” L said to him, eyes big and rounded, seemingly entranced by the scene of him being hurt and moaning. 

But then his eyes darkened into something more sinister, curious. 

He leaned down and licked a strip from his jaw to his upper cheek, gathering the blood that had turned cold.

He went up for a moment, wedging a blood-stained finger into his top lip before Light grabbed him by his hair and pulled him back down. 

He licked into his mouth, swallowing the blood and spit that L pushed into his mouth as he reciprocated the action. 

Light’s hands grabbed at L’s face, his hips, his hair, leaving L’s own blood wherever he touched. All of his efforts were to get him closer, to have their bodies slotted together like an eternally unsolved puzzle. 

L hummed into his mouth, he tasted like metal and cake, a terribly addictive flavor. It hurt to kiss him, the cuts on his mouth bleeding and L sucking it into his mouth like he needed it to survive.

 But the pain was the best part. Light sucked on L’s tongue as it dove into his mouth,

getting drunk on his wounds. When they pulled apart, their spit connected them, red and

clotted, but it was them, in a horrible and sadistic way. 

They loved seeing each other in pain, and maybe that’s what turned them on the most. At Least that’s what had Light moaning into L’s ear as L laid open-mouthed kisses on his neck, leaving a trail of proof of his morality. 

And L enjoyed the flush of Light’s cheeks, how his blood was a bright gorgeous red, how it tasted like victory, and how the game got more complex as he kept indulging in his nefarious vices. 

Light was his worst. And he was easily tempted. 

L grinned in sick pride as he sunk his fingers into Light’s mouth, how he took them graciously, and soaked them in bloodied spit. He swirled his tongue around his digits, laying his tongue flat against the pads of his fingers before letting L wipe his undoing along his lips before kissing the breath out of him. 

Light’s hands searched for relief in L’s hair, pulling it hard and hatefully. But he couldn’t really say he hated him. 

Not when L pulled away and lifted his chin with a steady finger, looking down at him as if he was nothing. 

It made him angry, more angry than anything else in the world. But his blood dripped from L’s mouth and he had the taste of L on the back of his teeth. They were intertwined, and they couldn’t survive any other way. 

And so Light opened his mouth and let their enmeshed blood run from L's lips onto his tongue.

Wanna write a fic where L and Light's lives get absolutely destroyed. Through real world consequences, or fantastical and epic events.

Like they are so spoiled. They are so arrogant and soft but they act like they're the toughest guys around that have seen everything. L probably more than Light has seen his fair share of hardship when he was young as an orphan, but both of them have been easily able to shape their lives the way they want. Every hardship they've encountered has been a result of their own actions, they never take on more than they could chew.

What if it all imploded. What if they lost everything. No money, no power, no food, no shelter— no people to manipulate.

What if they go through so much pain and hardship that they actually miss eachother. Realize what they took for granted. Have to build themselves back from the ground up with only eachother as support.

Maybe they learn something, maybe they let themselves fly into the sun despite it all. Would be very interesting to force them to confront their truths, explore what it would be like to really see them work together, build real trust, become more wise and kind.

Watch lawlight help eachother learn how to really be human.
