Black Panther AU where T'Challa is sometimes possessed by Bast.

While the royal family always held a special connection to Bast, T'Chaka and Ramonda noticed early on how attuned T'Challa was to everything Bast.

He was focused in everything he did but when it came to things related to Bast or the mantle of the Black Panther, he would pay special attention. He would study the Heart-Shaped Herb, rituals to do with Bast and all that kinda stuff.

They're not really worried cause who wouldn't want the future King to be interested in their culture? Sure they have to stop him from trying to adopt every cat (especially black ones) he sees, even if he says " it's what Bast declares mother!" but everyone's kids are like that.

It's not until T'Challa is 12 years old and 2 year old Shuri (idk their canonical age difference so i'm gonna say it's 10-ish years) when she accidentally spills cold water on him and his eyes glow purple as he hisses, that they realize that maybe T'Challa isn't a normal child.

Ramonda: honey did you just hiss?

T'Challa: Bast doesn't like the cold :(

Ramonda: ....

Ramonda and T'Chaka try and keep it on the down low because while the Wakandan people worship Bast, they don't know how they'll take their prince being possessed by her. It's hard for them to do that when Bast takes over at any moment and T'Challa doesn't care about stopping her.

He'll be sneaking into the kitchen to grab extra snacks, see a cucumber and jump 6ft in the air. Head pats will always get him smiling and the smell of citrus makes him want to rip his nose off (mood).

15yr old W'Kabi and Nakia watching 14yr old T'Challa curl up on a brightly lit rock and start purring: hmmm something's weird abt him but i can't put my finger on it 🤔

She's like a comforting presence to T'Challa. She doesn't usually speak but feelings are transmitted so he understands anyway.

So T'Challa grows up hearing Bast's voice in his head and sometimes being possessed by her. She's like a weird aunt or older sister. To the Wakandans their Prince is weird but he's theirs so it's all cool.

I wonder why christian misrepresentation are rarely talked about if compared to other religion misrepresentation. Like, I've seen people really vocal about Greek myths misrepresentation in LO and such (and it's valid because it's a culture and religion) but I rarely saw the same thing with christian even though there are many media who use christian religion innacurately, to the point where it comes off as using it as an aesthetic and not a proper religion.

Is it because of rampant religious trauma especially in western world? No ulterior motives on this question. I'm not a christian and yet I'm curious about this. I apologize if this sounds harsh.

I obviously don't have The Answer(tm) to this but personally speaking (and I'm about to get VERY personal here so take this with MOUNTAINS OF SALT), I think it's just the obvious - Christian mythology is one of the most well-documented and strongly protected out of virtually any other religion on the planet. Especially here in the West, it's commonplace for kids to go to Sunday school, for couples to have Christian weddings even if they're not practising Christians themselves, even the American anthem references the Christian God. It's simply not as easy to 'misrepresent' it because the representation is written into our very fabric of society. Even Greece itself is primarily made up of Orthodox Christians.

So anyone that does 'misrepresent' it are either completely mislead hardcore Christians, or people who are doing it intentionally, such as with the intent to make a parody of it or to deconstruct it through a different context or whatever have you. And of course, people will still get mad at those things, if you're implying that people aren't vocal about Christian misrepresentation then frankly IDK what to tell you there LOL If you want a contextual example in the realm of webtoons, Religiously Gay was dragged to hell and back during its launch for having a very crude and insulting depiction of St. Michael, and frankly, yeah I don't disagree because what the fuck is this-

(like at best it's just terrible character design lmao that said, there's also plenty else to criticize Religiously Gay for, including its fetishy representation of gay relationships and the fact that it's still just the "naive person who looks and acts like a child hooks up with mean person in a position of power" trope, blech, but the character design is definitely the first thing you notice)

There are even plenty of hardcore Christians who will deadass claim "misrepresentation" over things that ARE factually correct but they just haven't read the actual Bible and simply cherry pick what works for their own agenda. And of course those people are routinely called out by people like myself who know for a fact that Jesus wouldn't have promoted the war crimes that many modern day Christians are committing and justifying today. So it really depends on the definition of "misrepresentation" here.

The issue specifically with LO and Rachel that I personally call her out for (and many others) is that she's called herself a "folklorist" and claimed she's so much more knowledgeable on Greek myth than anyone else, while making a complete mockery of the original mythologies while not being honest about her intent as to whether LO is actually supposed to be a legitimate retelling OR a parody (because it sure acts like the latter more than the former, but she still seems to expect us to take it seriously and consider her knowledge of Greek myth superior?) Which leads to a lot of her teenage audience claiming shit like "Persephone went down to the underworld willingly" and "Apollo did assault Persephone in the original myths actually" and the classic "why would Lore Olympus lie or make up fake myths?"

You just can't pull off this extent of erasure with Christian mythology because we have a whole ass book of it that's been preserved, sold on shelves, and systematically integrated into society for thousands of years. Of course, there are people who will still try their damned best to twist the Bible to match their own bigotry with the whole "Jesus hates gays" bullshit (he would never), but it's met with equal amounts of 'misrepresentation' that are actually fully well-read and are intentionally subverting and changing things to either critique, parody, or restore the original intent of a lot of stories in the Bible without all the manufactured right-wing crap.

Greek myth, on the other hand, has some stories that are well preserved, and others, not so much. And in the modern day outside of the poems and hymns, you'll also rarely, if ever, see anyone use stories from Greek myth to ostracize, torture, and murder other people. "Misrepresenting Christianity" is more often done by actual Christians who are using the Bible to commit hate crimes than the people who have actually read the Bible and are just taking creative liberties with it for the sake of deconstructing / parodying / analyzing / subverting it. Veggie Tales "misrepresents" Christian stories because obviously Moses wasn't a fucking cucumber lmao but it still accomplishes its goal by retelling Christian stories in a way that's fun and educational for children.

By comparison (on the whole, I'm not comparing LO to Veggie Tales LMAO) LO just isn't clear in its intentions beyond Rachel's initial statements that she was trying to "deconstruct" the myths, while labelling herself as a folklorist. Therefore, I'm going to criticize how she does it because the way she's done it up until now has been very mishandled and has resulted in a lot of misinterpretations of the myths simply for the sake of fandom. And yes, these people exist in Christian media as well - they're called TV evangelists.

And that's my (very heavy) two cents.

Kirby and Y/N have been together for almost a year. It was safe to say it was the best year of her life. They were both in the limelight, at different levels. Kirby played for the Montreal Canadiens while Y/N had a few million followers on Youtube and Tiktok. 

For the two months leading up to their one year anniversary she wanted to slowly introduce her followers to him. A few years ago, her followers hated the idea of her being in a relationship and Kirby’s fans tended to attack any girl that was involved with him. So they thought it would be for the best to ease into the relationship.

She laid on the bed, running her fingers along his chest. Today was the first day she was planning on giving her followers a glimpse of Kirby. She had briefly mentioned having a boyfriend in her most recent Youtube video. Her followers were instantly invested in the idea.

“Are you coming to the game with me?” Kirby asked, his voice rasped as he spoke. She hummed as she stared towards her light pink nails tracing along his skin. “Good, I’ll hang in the WAGs suite with you,” he leaned towards her, kissing the top of her head.

“Coffee, want some?” she offered. He stood up from the mattress instead, “Oh, are you going to join me?” she asked in a teasing tone, “Don’t want breakfast in bed?” she continued on. 

He smiled widely as he bit his bottom lip,”Pretty sure I already had my breakfast in bed,” he teased as he took a hold of her waist pulling her towards him. She gasped as her back hit against his chest. 

“You’re awful,” she mumbled as he guided them both out of the bedroom, while he still held her to his chest.

“You love it,” he mumbled into her hair. She rolled her eyes as she reluctantly stepped away from him pulling her phone from her pocket. 

“Yeah, maybe,” she mumbled as she pulled up her Tiktok, “Do you want to start to be a little bread crumb in my videos?” she asked in a dramatic theatrical tone. He chuckled as he walked towards the coffee pot.

“Wherever you need me, babe,” he said excitedly. He began adding coffee grounds to the pot as she began searching for songs for her video. “Do I need to pose? Smile? Flirt with the camera?” he asked dramatically. 

“I don’t think I’m going to show much of your body. My fans are nuts, they’ll find you by the ring on your finger,” she said laughing. He nodded while chuckling. She stared towards his bare back, admiring the muscles as they slightly tensed as he moved. “I think I’ll wait until you’re in your suit for tonight,” she mumbled as she leaned forward onto the counter.

He turned the coffee pot on before he spun around, meeting her gaze. He crossed his arms over his chest, a small smile on his lips. “They may show me on the broadcast, you know. If your fans are as crazy as you say then they’ll find out that way,” he expressed.

She let out a dramatic groan, “You’re right but I got an idea that it won’t be too obvious,” she teased. He rolled his eyes playfully.

It was about an hour later and she had about fifteen seconds filmed. It was all short but aesthetic looking moments of her day. Her Tiktok persona was vastly different from the videos she posted on Youtube. She was a daily vlogger for both accounts but her Youtube was more raw and real. Her Tiktok stuck to the more aesthetic and pretty parts of her day. 

The first clip was a sleepy moment in the mirror, the second was her cup of iced coffee she made, and the third was her getting dressed. It was simple but it was cute. It was a weird way of helping her mentally. Creating a cute video of her day helped her avoid staying in bed. 

She sat in her vanity, recording for her Youtube channel. She was doing a Q and A for her channel. She had a collection of questions from her Instagram she planned on using. She was halfway through her makeup and halfway through her video when she finally addressed the boyfriend situation. 

“This next one is-are we going to get to see your boyfriend soon? So my boyfriend and I have been talking about that and we are going to do a soft launch. I hate that phrase but after what I expressed with my last boyfriend, I think this is for the best. I already know that many of you will try and investigate who he is. I can’t avoid that but I can spare my feelings for a while,” she explained, a small chuckle falling from her lips after she finished speaking. 

“Hey baby, what suit looks better?” he asked as his head was down staring towards his feet. He was holding a dark blue and a cream colored one. He lifted his gaze to see the camera set up on her vanity. His mouth formed a small O shape as his cheeks flushed red, “Oh sorry, I didn’t realize you were filming,” he clambered as he stepped away towards the door.

“No, it’s okay, let me see,” she uttered as she tilted her head to the side. She only had one eye done. He tilted his head to the side, a small smile forming to his lips.

“You look gorgeous,” he mumbled.

“It’s not even done yet,” she mumbled shyly.

“Still gorgeous,” he let out. He took a deep breath, holding the dark blue to his body for a few seconds. He then did the same with the cream. 

“I haven’t seen the cream in a while, go try it on,” she ushered. He nodded, leaving the room. 

“I did see this question a lot-What’s your boyfriend’s name?” a small chuckle fell from her lips, “If I told you guys that you would probably figure it out right away. So all you guys get for right now is boyfriend. You guys kept asking if he didn’t like being on camera and that’s why I haven’t shown him. But it’s more of a privacy thing. We wanted to be secure in the relationship before I plastered it all over social media. Also, people who put every aspect of their relationship on the Internet scare me,” 

She paused as she continued finishing her eye shadow, it was a subtle look but it was glittery. “Babe,” Kirby mumbled. She spun around, admiring the cream color suit. She nodded dramatically with a wide smile on her face. 

“You have to add this back into your rotation, I love it,” she muttered. He dropped his head, smiling shyly before he stepped out of the room. 

“Thank you, baby!” he shouted. “We have to leave in like twenty!” he explained.

“I’m almost done, promise!” she shouted back. She looked back towards the camera, “I think I will definitely film moments with him, of course. May even leave that moment in the video. I don’t know yet, but he’s going at my pace and what I’m comfortable sharing. So it’ll definitely be soon. Anyways-” she finished off with her outro, showing off the finished makeup look. 

After ten minutes, she was completely ready. Kirby stood still, his hands in his pockets as she rested her hand against his chest. Her light pink nails were in view. She filmed a short clip, practically showing him off. “Got what you needed?” he asked while resting his hand onto her hip, toying with the belt loop on her jeans. She hummed, her chest aching slightly.

She filmed the outside view of their drive from her apartment to the arena. She didn’t film the arena, or the game itself. It would’ve been extra obvious. Despite the difficult season the Canadiens were having, they won their game 2-1 in an OT goal by Nick. It was amazing to watch. 

She ended up filming the dinner the team and the WAGs all went to, she filmed her food, not anyone involved. She drafted the video to post tomorrow morning instead. It was a great day and documenting it made it even better.

The following morning she had shown the Tiktok to Kirby before she posted it. He helped her with the caption, finding himself clever in the process. They both kept refreshing the app, looking at the comments waiting for someone to try and guess who it was. 

It took four minutes for someone to guess that it was Kirby. Although, the longer the video remained up on Tiktok the faster the comment got buried on her page. Everyone else was simply freaking out that she wasn’t lying about having someone. Which was a common comment she got when she first brought him up.

He rested his head onto her stomach as she had her laptop on her chest. He ran his hands up and down her side soothingly as he was in and out of sleep. She was editing her video while he slept.

She watched the clip of Kirby asking her which suit looked better. A small smile formed on her lips to see him act all shy. She spent twenty minutes simply editing that twenty second clip, trying to disguise his identity. She covered the majority of his frame with a meme photo. She didn’t distort his voice, simply covering the majority of his body. She would just let people speculate on if it was him or not based off of his voice.

She watched the clip, smiling to herself. She tapped his back, and she sat up quickly. “You okay?” he forced out, blinking his eyes rapidly. She chuckled.

“Yes, pretty boy,” she mumbled, reaching behind her computer, rubbing the small stubble on his jawline. “Watch this,” she explained, spinning her laptop around, playing the small ten second moment. 

He laughed as he saw the megamind meme covering the majority of his frame. “What the hell?” he said while shaking his head.

“What do you think?” she asked with a small smile on her lips.

“I think it’s funny,” he let out as she spun the computer back towards herself, “I think you should also leave it in,” he mumbled, laying back down on her stomach. She nodded.

“I think so too. They’ll definitely recognize your voice but it’ll work out,” she mumbled as she continued to finish editing the video.

It took her another hour to finish editing the video, and another hour and a half to process and upload the video. For the second time that day they laid beside one another staring at the comments.

No one seemed to try and dissect who he was. “The way she looks at him! Stop it right now,” she read out loud, “This is cute,” she mumbled.

“He sounds hot,” he read out, “They know what they’re talking about,” he teased.

“Of course that’s the one you read,” she said, shoving him slightly. 

“It’s true,” 

“Oh please,” she let out while rolling her eyes playfully.

Every time I go back and watch Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, I’m amazed all over again by the panoply of genres this movie and the VHD setting in general indulges in.

The story is set in “the distant future, where vampires rule the night but their numbers are dwindling”. It sort of plays like a weird techno-gothic post-apocalyptic sci-fi western? Over the course of Bloodlust, we start out in a cross-bedecked gothic city, head to a meeting in a ruined church straight out of western, complete with rifle-armed cowboys on guard, go full fucking Dune in the middle with D riding his biomechanical horse across the back of field-sized sand manta rays migrating across a massive duned desert, head to a small canyon town that's a hideout for various yokai, stop off at a roman ruin in a lake and a massive science fiction stronghold with a mirror-cloaked exterior and automated defense lasers, before heading to the final showdown in the massive crimson techno-gothic castle of Carmilla the vampire queen, which doubles as a spaceship. Because the vampire D has been pursuing this whole time wants to go to the endless night of space to be with his love.

The team of hunters competing with D are armed with, variously, a massive fucking hammer, an absolutely ridiculous arm-mounted crossbow that launches roughly 2000 silver arrows a second, a singularity shooting pistol, and an astral self that flies around the battlefield like an angry sparkly ghost that shoots lasers.

Conveyances include said already-mentioned biomechanical horse, a horse-drawn carriage drawn by similar horses, a full-on motorbike, a massive armoured motor truck-slash-tank, and also said previously-mentioned spaceship.

Let’s just say the aesthetic is simultaneously all over the place, and weirdly unified. It’s a far flung dystopic future run by gothic creatures of the night, after the slow apocalypse that has led to their dwindling. So you have futuristic technology and gothic medieval sensibilities in bizarre but functional post-apocalyptic union. It’s really cool.

Possibly helped by the fact, mind you, that this movie is just stupidly beautiful and so gorgeously animated that you’ll forgive it a lot of sins. But it isn’t actually committing too many. The weird genre blend makes sense, and the vibe is cool and coherent enough that you’ll roll with it.

He was getting his hair done with you!! He can't lose his good hair reputation. (I don't blame him.) Trust, he did compliment you but best believe this man complimented himself more.

Unlike Jeonghan, he wasn't getting his hair done, but, he was with you. Bringing you snacks and food to eat while you were in the salon for some time; complimenting how well the new color came out. He even took multiple photos of you before you even got a chance to leave the salon.

Wen Junhui-

He was waiting home impatiently to see this new hairstyle of yours, but once you finally came home, it was over. "Am I dreaming?" Of course, he has to be a tad bit dramatic about it. His cheeks tinting pink just by looking at you. (He was even complimenting you all shy and everything)

Kwon Soonyoung-

Launching at you. This man doesn't even take into consideration of how nicely it was done. Just seeing you enter the house was enough to make him happy. "Oh! When did you get your hair done?" He asks you hours later while you're sitting on the couch together.

Jeon Wonwoo-

You walk into his game room and sit on his lap waiting for him to notice and not even seconds pass and he immediately notices. Don't be fooled; this man is very attentive. "This new color suits you a lot." He never says much but just by his simple words, you know how he feels about it.

Lee Jihoon-

This man doesn't even notice until it's time to go to bed💀. "I like this color a lot." Was all he said, you know he meant well but he was wayyyy too tired so instead he compliments you in the morning.

Lee Seokmin-

Screaming..he would make sure the whole world knows about your new hairstyle. "Come, come I have to take pictures of you to post it." He would also be so extra about it; he'd even play with your hair the whole day😭.

Kim Mingyu-

I'm telling you, this big baby would not let go of you. Hyping you up, taking you out to eat because 'You look way too pretty to stay home'. He would not stop petting your head. (Especially with the height difference.)

Xu Minghao-

Y'all are going shopping the minute you get home. He wants to style you with some cute outfits to match your new hair aesthetic. He would also not stop stressing you about how gorgeous you look.

Boo Seungkwan-

He was also with you; just sitting down, talking waiting while you finished with your hair. The minute you texted him saying you were at the salon; he came immediately (With an iced coffee for him and you of course.)

Vernon Chwe-

Probably wouldn't notice until you said something. "Thoughts on my new hair?" You ask him, touching your hair. Only then would this man notice. He would hit you with the 'It looks nice bro' 😭.

Lee Chan-

Of course, this sweet baby notices, he'd even buy flowers to match your new hair color. Well, you did tell him you were going to get it done. But you didn't expect to come home to flowers and some snacks as if it were your birthday or something.

More Roddenberry Archive musings...

This is supposedly the launch configuration of the Prime universe U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701's main bridge. It's based on the first piece of concept art for the TOS set, and is one of several weird not-quite-canon things the Roddenberry Archive has decided to consider canonical. 2 command chairs and the whole centre console and chairs spins to face the very minimalist 60's scifi perimeter consoles or viewscreen. Try to imagine Captain April and first officer Chris Pike on this bridge, it's weird.

FERENGI ATM MACHINE ON THE PROMENADE!!!!

The view from OG Captain Pike's bed, featuring his awesome TV, his laser gun and his Starfleet hat. We wouldn't get hats back in Trek for 50 years.

This is inside the Ringship Enterprise XCV-330, circa 2100. The Ringship in canon was seen only in picture form or a desktop model, we never saw inside. The ship was actually designed for a non-Trek Roddenberry scifi show called Starship which never came to be, and there was actually concept art made for the interior which the RA people decided to import to Trek too. Predating the transporter, here is the Metafier.

Discovery Season 2's U.S.S. Enterprise has a cool corridor running around it. Walk around it and... it goes nowhere😂 the Archive tries to balance the reality of everything being a television show with the fantasy of a 100% accurate in-universe museum, it'll give sets ceilings to make them into a believable spaceship but doesn't want to go nuts inventing too much of it's own stuff and that sometimes leads to weird stuff like this dead end

Speaking of ceilings, here's the ceiling and lights of the classic TOS Enterprise's corridors. I think they did a decent job keeping to the TOS aesthetic. The sets TOS was filmed on didn't have ceilings at all.

The Enterprise-B actually had a red carpet for special guests Kirk, Scotty and Chekov

Strange New Worlds has the coolest transporter room of all. Just look at it😍

The TNG Enterprise battle bridge has it's own ready room! And it's super tiny, ultra cramped and Picard probably never used it because there's no replicator in there and thus no access to tea.

The 1st version of TNG engineering's big Master Systems Display as seen in "Encounter at Farpoint". Ten Forward wouldn't be a thing until season 2, and you can see here an earlier deck layout and the original concept for the saucer rim, a corridor walkway with windows above and below. You'll also note Ten Forward would actually be on deck 11 had they not changed the diagram by then.

Kirk's quarters on the TOS Enterprise has dresser drawers full of uniforms for when his gets torn

Walking around the Roddenberry Archive ships is eerie as hell. You're the only one on board, exploring corridors and poking your head into rooms. These starships are liminal spaces. This for me adds to the atmosphere greatly.

this is the jet lag and the covid brewing in my body that wrote this, not me. i have no idea if any of this is coherent or makes sense but i hope it’s okay

matt and i have been dating for nearly 2 years now having been friends since highschool. and we decided it was best for both of us to keep our relationship a secret public eye. his brothers, nate, and madi know but that’s it. just a few people we know would never say anything. their fans know of me and that i went to school with them so it’s no surprise to see me with them all but that’s the extent of it. matt posts a few soft launch photos of us but keeping me private. i don’t follow the boys from my main account so no fans have been able to dig through his followers to find who the mystery girl is.

matt and i rarely go out alone, always with his brothers or friends. there’s a small part of me that hurts that we decided to do this. not being able to spend time together in public without making things look very platonic, having to keep distance when we’re with friends who don’t know about us, or not being able to show my love openly for my boyfriend. i often turn down going to big events because i find them overwhelming, too loud, too many different things going on at once, it’s just too much for me especially when i can’t be with matt, my security blanket making me feel safe and comfortable.

it’s a blizzard outside, roads too icy for anyone to brace except those working. not to mention it’s the kind of cold that makes your nose hairs instantly feel frozen. using this weather to our advantage, matt and i carefully headed to our favorite little family run bakery down the road. one thing i hate is being cold. dressed in my comfiest thickest sweats, a fleece sweatshirt, a puffy jacket with a scarf just about covering my whole face you could hardly tell who i was, but i was warm and comfy.

we grab a table in the corner of the bakery decorated with warm christmas lights hung above the plush couch with a variety of plants aesthetically placed around the space. the atmosphere was beautiful, soft and gentle lighting, a fireplace adorned with christmas decorations and garland, instrumental music played quietly over the speakers, and to make it even better there wasn’t anyone in here other than the odd person that came in briefly here and there.

i leaned into matt’s side resting my head on his shoulder and his arm holding me closer to him. we sat there facing the large bay window soaking in the peace and beauty of the snow falling. we sat quietly in silence for a while before something out the window caught our eye. 2 teenage girls quickly putting their phones away once they saw us watching them, giggling as they ran away. 

“matt” my voice falters, worried about what might be posted.

“i know it’s okay try not to worry, im sure you can’t even tell it’s us through all that spray on snow on the window. plus you’re so bundled up you look like cousin itt. no one will recognize who you are and if they do, they do. it’s out of our control love,” he tries to reassure me. he pulls his phone out and take a photo of us. “see? we’re good don’t worry”.

“omg i do look like cousin itt” i giggled.

“whatever happens, happens okay? sure they’ll know we’re dating but that’s all they know. we can still keep our relationship private just like we are now nothing has to change. i mean is it so bad that they know? i can take you on proper dates without having to hide you. so what if people see us? they only see a sliver of our relationship, they’ll see us together but that’s all they know. they don’t know our favorite song, the moment i fell in love with you, how you fit right into our family, how much my parents love you, mom’s told me you’re like the daughter she’s always wanted, nick and chris love you, everyone does. so i don’t care if they see us together, they only see the outside of our relationship. i know without a doubt in my mind that i’m gonna marry you one day. what they know doesn’t affect our relationship. i love you pretty girl”.

“i didn’t know you had a thing for cousin itt” i giggled earning a nudge to my shoulder from matt at my lack of seriousness. “i’m kidding, you’re right they can see the outside of our relationship and make their own assumptions. all that matters is we know our relationship. i love you”.

squeezing me closer to his side he rests his head on mine planting kisses to my head. “who doesn’t have a thing for cousin itt?” he joked making me laugh.

“i can’t wait to marry that laugh”.

Okay, so I mentioned earlier that I thought she became an Overlord so quickly after her death because Vox reached out to her after sensing her power. However, I was a fool back then. While writing her into my fanfiction, I reflected on that idea and now think it was quite the opposite.

Velvette found herself in Hell and immediately felt at home. She did her research, learned about this man running a media company, and decided she wanted to meet him. She was so determined to have an appointment with him, Vox allowed it because she kept harassing Voxtek employees, and that made him curious. Honestly, he probably hoped to get her soul. But Velvette had a different idea—she basically demanded he give her a job.

You obviously have no idea how to run social media, old man. Give me a chance, and I'll make you so much money you'll choke on it.

She definitely made an impression with her resume, and Vox hired her to run the social media department. He likes to think that he made her, but in truth, he merely provided an opportunity she expertly exploited to climb higher on the corpses of her competition. Absolute girlboss. It must have been challenging to establish herself alongside two grandiose men, but her intense energy and charm won them over.

She transformed the social media department into her own company within Voxtek and also launched her own fashion brand.

Also, I like to imagine that her company looks like a darker and more twisted version of Stefanie's company from BoJack Horseman, very #Girlboss #SelfMade #GirlPower yet with an undercurrent of terror.

She honestly despises this whole #ItGirl aesthetic so he hijacked it and twisted to her liking.

Also, aside from doing the official business, she's responsible for a large part of Vee's intelligence. Valentino gathers information about his establishment's clients, Vox has his surveillance cameras, while Velvette follows trends and collects gossips from Hell's socialites during fashion events and manages multiple influencers who sold their souls to her, and now she can use them to target different demographics.

"Watch and learn, my dear," Han sends you a playful wink.

You are currently on a team with Chan while playing cornhole. Your opponents are Han and Seungmin, and Han chose to throw from the same side as you.

It's a nice summer day, and you, along with the whole Stray Kids crew, are spending it outside. You started off the afternoon in the pool, but then I.N almost cracked his skull open when attempting to dive, and you all decided that was enough of the pool for the day. You then moved on to riding bikes, but then Changbin and Felix's wheels collided and they busted their knees up on the asphalt. It was a whole ordeal, and somehow Changbin ended up forcing Hyunjin and Han to carry him all the way back to the house.

After those exciting events, we decided to reign it in a little before someone got seriously injured. So, we now reside in the driveway, playing a nice and calm game of cornhole. I.N has been resting inside since the pool incident, saying he has a killer headache and just needs a nap. Hyunjin, Felix, and Changbin have taken cover from the heat in the garage, while Lee Know sits in the middle of the yard, bathing in the warmth of the sun.

"Han, no offense, but you haven't actually hit the board yet, and we've been playing for 10 minutes," you laugh, smiling harder when Han looks at you with an insulted look on his face.

"I'll have you know that I've been doing that on purpose, Missy. Didn't want to give away my ace of an arm too soon."

Upon hearing this from the other side of the driveway, Seungmin scoffs and gives him a bothered look. "You better be joking. The score is literally 19-0, I think you could've pulled it out a little sooner."

"Shh, I have to focus," Han narrows his eyes before hollering something sounding akin to a screaming donkey. He does a little dance, spinning around quickly in a circle, making you giggle. He faces toward the other board again, pulls his arm back and launches the beanbag high into the air.

All those theatrics, just for the beanbag to unceremoniously hit an unsuspecting Lee Know right in the face, who, up until that point, was peacefully sleeping.

“Wha-,” he startles, standing upright in a second. Your eyes widen at the intimidating look he throws at all of you, and you immediately shove your thumb in Han’s direction. You smile to yourself as you look and see that Seungmin and Chan are doing the same. “Han, you brat,” and with that, Han is gone in a flash racing to hide somewhere behind the garage. You walk over to Lee Know’s chair and drag it up to your cornhole game.

“What? You’re finished now? We were about to win!” Chan whines, playfully pouting at you.

“Well, Dandy-Boy over there just lost his partner, and I don’t know about you, but I wanna see whatever’s about to go down. I want a front row seat.” You kick your legs out, turning your attention to a, now screaming, Han. Lee Know has acquired the hose, and you know all hell’s about to break loose.

"Please! Please stop! I can't run much more!" Han yells, gasping for air.

"Well then stop!" Lee Know deviously yells back, gaining on the younger.

Han bends over with his hands on his knees, surrendering to the cold jet of the hose. "That actually feels pretty nice," he comments, standing upright and stretching his arms out to his sides to let the water cool him down.

Lee Know sprays Han for a few more seconds before feeling bored. "It's no fun if you're enjoying it." He huffs and stops spraying the hose, looking back to the three of you still silently watching from the driveway. A smirk spreads across his face; one that you know all too well.

You quickly stand from the chair, scurrying inside the garage to take cover. "Run!" You scream, using poor Felix as a human shield. Lee Know sprints into the garage, blasting the water in a swaying motion, soaking everything in it's path, including Felix and the innocent party of Hyunjin and Changbin. They all gasp, looking up at Lee Know.

"If my knee wasn't throbbing right now, I'd so get you back," Changbin narrows his eyes at Lee Know.

"In my defense, I was only trying to get y/n. So if anything, blame her," Lee Know argues back. He turns his attention to the three completely dry soon-to-be victims hiding out near the house, and he takes off after them, eliciting a multitude of screams and yelps.

Hyunjin, Changbin, and Felix look to you. "You've got to be kidding me. I'm innocent!" You nervously back up, making your way towards the garage door. "We're on the same team!" You try, but in the blink of an eye, Hyunjin is after you. You scream, running towards nothing specific.

"Avenge us, Hyunjin!" You hear Felix yell, followed by a chorus of Felix and Changbin giggles.

You run throughout the yard, hurdling and ducking between random objects to try to lose your attacker. But to no avail, and Hyunjin rams into the back of you, soaking your perfectly dry clothes. You screech, struggling in his grasp before ultimately giving up, knowing he's much stronger than you are. He squeezes the life out of you once more, you and him watching the chaos ensue on the other side of the yard. Somehow, Seungmin has ended up with the hose now and is running for his life from Chan, Han, and Lee Know. "Poor guy's not gonna make it," you say to Hyunjin, watching as Seungmin trips over a lump in the grass, awkwardly hitting the ground and dropping the hose in the process.

"Mercy!" he yells, gripping his ankle and writhing in pain. Chan drops down next to him in concern

"What happened? Did you hurt your ankle?" Chan worries, placing a comforting hand on Seungmin's shoulder. Hyunjin finally lets you go and you both quickly make your way to them. Changbin and Felix also make their way out of the garage upon hearing Seungmin's cries.

"My ankle, I think I broke it," he cries. Chan looks up to you guys and you can tell dad-mode has been activated.

"Can someone go get a bag of ice? Changbin, help me lift him." Chan orders, standing up.

In the blink of an eye, Seungmin jumps up and quickly grabs the hose, spraying all of you and laughing menacingly. You all stare in disbelief, jaws dropped, not knowing Seungmin was that good of an actor.

You observe him and notice he's the only one who hasn't gotten wet yet. "How are you still dry?" You question him. You and the rest of the boys slowly start inching towards him.

He stutters a little, taking slow steps back, feeling uneasy. "Uh-"

"He won't be for long! Get him!" Lee Know answers for him, being the first to make a move and run towards the puppy. Seungmin turns and runs the opposite direction and the rest of you follow.

The shenanigans keep up for about 30 more minutes. At some point, I.N emerged from the house to see what all the noise was about. Unfortunately for him, Lee Know once again had the hose, and he wasn't feeling very merciful. As soon as I.N stepped foot in the yard he was bombarded with a blast of icy cold water, completely waking him from his after-nap grogginess. The hose gets passed around numerous more times, and you all, including Seungmin, end up completely soaked from head to toe by the time you're finished.

While you guys never finished your cornhole game, all too exhausted from the days events, it still ended up being a fun afternoon.

You and Chan will just have to beat Seungmin and Han a different day.

If you look at the trademark application for American Riviera Orchard, you’ll see that she’s trademarking it through a newly registered in Delaware company called Mama Knows Best, LLC.

Infact when you dig into the domain names etc, it seems this was thrown together last minute aka 2months ago after KC3/ PssoW C’s illnesses were announced. They are using PR to pretend they were working on it for an entire year, but even Scobie said they had nothing or whatever they had was all over the shop and he had no idea what it would be.

His comments don’t speak to a focused vision that is researched into whatever this is.

And what’s glaring about this launch is the lack of anything to sell. Not videos or actual products which speaks to the theory that this wax thrown together very quickly.

Russell Myers from the Mirror says if you sign up to the website, you get a respinse telling you that you’ll be notified of products when they are created/ available……if this was a year in the making and with proper marketing/ PR people, they’d have products ready to go. What it is right now is a landing/ holding page ( comments turned off on IG) until it produces products. 

It’s also interesting that the video is showcasing cooking which Markle tried to manifest for years while dating Corey. She auditioned and or popped up on varioys cooking shows/ fashion segments hoping to be hired. Acvording to people magazine, this launch of a lifestyle brand will have a companion show on Netflix. If Network tv won’t hire her for dream job then she’ll use her distribution deal to make it happen aka pay herself to make it happen!!!

However, one thing she revealed which tells me she has no clue about aspirational lifestyles/ branding. Her home kitchen hasn’t been updated from the dated 2000s/ early 2010s decor. It’s tye same kitchen from the sales brochure. 

Infact, glimpses of their home show a distinct lack of updating from the sales brochure. The onpy room thry updated is the one with the dining table as desk and their two side by side chairs. They removed all furniture and painted it white and addedva jute rug and that california bear poster over the fireplace. 

The current trend in kitchens for the wealthy is marble counter-tops and sleek designs meanwhile she’s displaying faux country/ italianate kitchen from the 90s. 

The women she is cosplaying eg GOOP, Martha and Ina Garten have upgraded to the current trend in kitchens. GOOP showed off her new kitchedn in AD. Heck, JLO is showing off her sleek kitchen.

That they haven’t updated their house to their taste is what I laugh about the most. Are they really that cash-poor? Do they really have that much debt that they can’t afford to redo anything? Surely Markus and Soho House can cough up a few million to keep her happy, and when the Sussexes default on the loans, they can make Soho Olive Garden, a Californian spinoff of Soho Farmhouse. Win-win, if you ask me.

And thanks, anon. You’ve just reminded me of a house I looked at when I was moving back in 2022. The homeowners were so into that Italian Country Kitchen theme that they PAINTED the entire kitchen like it was a rustic Italian restaurant. You know you go into a family-owned Italian mom-and-pop place (not a chain like Olive Garden or Maggianos, but something like your neighborhood Italian pizza place) and it’s got that orangey-beige sponge paint that’s supposed to mimic sandstone and there’s a huge wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling mural of Italy and dusty fake vines hanging from decorative columns? Yeah, that was how this kitchen was painted. Even the cabinets. And that was not even the weirdest house I looked at by a mile.)
