Greek God Apollo ☀️
Hello everyone! We wanted our first informative post to be about this amazing god who has lighten our paths many times during these years. So here you have a small post about him!
Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, titan of the light of night and, later, light of day; and twin brother of Artemis.
God of light, medicine, diseases, plagues, dance, music, writing, arts, divination and prophecy, initiation, colonization, archery, youth and male beauty, among other things.
His best known places of worship were Delphi and Delos, but Apollo's cults have been all over Greece and have been very varied. Moreover, as a god of colonization, many of his cults invaded the lands of others and forced them to worship Apollo. A well-known case is that of the women who worshipped Gaia who ended up being massacred by one of the cults of Apollo, and it was this fact that gave rise to the myth of Apollo and Daphne.
Being such a popular god in both Greece and Rome, he has a multitude of myths that reflect very well his diversity and ambivalence. Let's talk about, for example, that of his birth, which can also be consulted in the Homeric Hymn III to Apollo. Here we will speak only of one of the versions, since it has several.
It all begins when Zeus got Leto pregnant. Hera, who was jealous, made it impossible for Leto to give birth anywhere both on land and in the ocean. Luckily for Leto, his sister Asteria had also been harassed by Zeus and, to escape from him, had turned herself into a floating island by the name of Ortigia. Thus, Leto found a place to rest.
However, Hera had put more obstacles in her way. She had forbidden Ilithia, goddess of childbirth, to attend the titanide, so Leto spent nine days and nine nights in agony until the other gods managed to bribe Ilithia.
First Artemis was born, who assisted her mother to help in the birth of Apollo; he was born on the seventh day of the month, hence the number usually associated with the god.
Ortigia was renamed Delos, where a temple and a statue were established in honor of Apollo. From here comes one of his epithets: Delius Apollo.
On the other hand, the serpent or dragon Python resided in Delphi, where he had an oracle. It is said that one of his prophecies spoke that it would be a son of Leto who would kill him, so he had pursued the Titan during her pregnancy and did not stop until Zeus put a stop to it.
Thus, on the fourth day of his birth, Apollo set out for Delphi with his bow and arrows in hand to avenge his mother. There he killed Python with one of his arrows, and one of his epithets is "Apollo far-shooter", and took the oracle. Other versions say that he chased the dragon to Tempe and killed him there.
Apollo established his oracle in Delphi and, in honor of Python, placed his bones in a cauldron that would serve both for the oracle and for the initiation of the Pythia. And here is born another of his epithets: Apollo Pythius.
As you can see, he is a rational and at the same time visceral god. He has his reasons for killing Python, but he still doesn't think twice and does it.
There are many more myths, such as that of Admetus and Apollo, Niobe and the children of Leto, or the well-known myths of Apollo and his lovers (which are not few), such as Daphne, Hyacinth, Cassandra, Cipariso or Coronis. I invite you to read them and learn about him.
As for his attributes, Apollo is related to the number 7, to wolves for shepherding, to mice for plagues, to laurel for his myth with Daphne or even for his myth with Python and his victory against him, to hyacinths for the myth of Hyacinth and an endless number of animals, plants and crystals such as crows, cypresses or the sunstone.
He is also characterized by his silver bow, the sun and the lyre, which he acquired from Hermes.
Apollo is the chief of the muses and nymphs, the lord of the arts in all fields, although at the beginning it was especially of dance. And, if you want to work something related to the arts, Apollo is the right god.
The arts, oratory, divination, sports, self-esteem, self-respect, anxiety, medicine (biosanitary field in general), decision making, personal growth, etc., are areas that can be worked with him.
Personally I have a very good relationship with Apolo. I have been in contact with him for a few years now and we have worked on some things together, and I can assure you that it is a pleasure to work and talk with him. I don't want to generalize, because the gods present themselves differently to each person, but he tends to be patient and very kind, as well as funny if he trusts you.
Apollo is, in my opinion, such a diverse and magnificent god that you can learn everything from him. Just don't piss him off, because his bow never misses and it hurts when he shoots an arrow.
And so much for this divine Sunday! This month we dedicate it to Apollo in the account. What did you think? Do you want to know more about him? Have a sunny day ☀️

i need more mutuals who are into coding and engineering!! more info under the cut!!
I planned to become an electrical engineer like my stepdad but then I decided to change my path to programming. I'm currently studying at technikum (<- wikipedia link so I don't have to explain the whole polish learning system), programmer major.
this year I have exams from web development (10th Jan - theory, 16th Jan - practical exams) and next year I have exams from App development (both mobile and desktop).
I know C family languages, Java, Python and those ones I am currently using. I also know a bit of Kotlin and I think I will continue learning it.
For web dev I know HTML and CSS ofc but also PHP and JS.
Planning on learning more languages I can use for App and operating system development as well as just to know them cause I want to after this year's exams!
my learning list:
Lua (I heard it's easy but I can't really get myself to read anything about this atm idk why)
Ruby
Assembly
Rust
As for electrical engineering I don't know much tbh but I would like to learn! I just used CAD programs for technical drawings (dad taught me some basic things when I was still thinking about going his path) helped my dad fix things on his Solar farm, houses of our neighbors and I made a few very simple circuits for fun a few years ago. Now I'm mostly focused on programming but since I learned most of the things I need for exams I have more time to do whatever I want now!
I'd like to get to know more people so I can share and mostly learn new things since even though I'm coding for years I consider myself a beginner and I am a total beginner when it comes to electrical engineering.
I'm willing to be friends or at least mutuals with anyone who codes or makes websites or is in STEM! no matter what your specialty/interest is exactly and no matter if you are a total beginner or a professional ^__^
I'd also like to have some mutuals who are into old web development and retro computing!!!!!!!!
edit: I forgot but I'm also interested in physics and quantum physics

Devlog 1 - Names, References and Revisions
Tumblr media
Today's agenda: The name of the game!
What should I name the game? Give me all of your wackiest suggestions and I'll make a poll to see which does best! Just anything that you'd like to see in a TF2 vn. (If anyone could possibly, maybe, want to volunteer in helping/proofreading the current drafts, that'd be awesome!!)
Story
As I write this, I am currently within the 3rd draft/revision of the beginning of the game. I'm a bit conflicted on how to start it. I'm jumping between this being a one week experience for the MC to show how short Ms Pauling's vacation is OR the idea that this is the last week of the internship and you're on your way to say goodbye.
The middlest parts are the easiest to write as they're rather independent from each other. The endings are already fully conceptualized but that's classified, no matter how much I wanna info dump about it!!
Designs/Art
My friend is currently helping out with the project! He's going to be in charge of the backgrounds and other assets in exchange for me helping with his commissions lol! For now, I've been drawing sketches of poses and figuring out which poses work best through reference gathering.
These would work for Sniper and Spy, maybe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Coding
This part is the trickiest since I don't have my laptop with me for another week or so. But, for now, I'm learning through basic python tutorials and implementing a lot of the script in Twinery.org to keep track of the branching paths. I do intend on using Ren'py for development.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is mostly a bunch of dialogue because I refuse to write actual lengthy descriptions for a DRAFT...... (shush, I barely even started)

I have (half) finished my little game project.
For the @nin-burger valentine's day event I decided that I would make a playable ui, perhaps biting off a little more than I could chew. The deadline I set for myself has arrived and I am happy with how much I did get done so far
I wanted to hit all the event prompts, but ended up not really marking them off in any visible way, though they would be in the final game redition
Enough yapping, I'll leave it for under the cut, here's the game:
Alrighty! So, as promised, here is my yapping along with my planning notes and explaining of how I got through the prompts
First things first; these are my original notes as I divided the routes that would exist. At this point of the process my intended submission was a choose your own adventure fanfic, but I discarded that because the logistics seemed difficult.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From there I went about writing down the prompts on my notebook and brainstorming how to fill them with my base game model.
Here's where I decided to start doing CGS, which became pretty much the only thing I really did as I decided to switch from a finished long fic with branching paths to a simple playable ui– part of what motivated this decision was the fact that I knew I would have to learn python for uni, which I was starting in a few weeks.
So; I set about downloading ren.py, looking up tutorials on how to do image galleries and the likes, I also start on my cgs; here are some of them and how they fill their prompt
(also, obviously the otome game is filled by the fact that it's an otome and the in-game prompt is kind of filled by the fact that it is a game, I hope)
Final act, valentine's in jail
Tumblr media
Kakashi and Obito go to jail, simple as that. Obito in this universe runs the Akatsuki, which is both the Konoha university theatre club and an actual street gang. He very stupidly wears his Akatsuki cloak out in the opening and gets caught mid-festivalz dragging Kakashi– his date– along with him
Jailed bird, till death do us part
Tumblr media
Hanare, an exchange student who Kakashi met once and helped by chance. She is utterly obsessed with Kakashi and invited him out for the festival to kidnap him. Yay.
Saturn and her son, Incubi/sucubi:
Tumblr media
Kaguya, an incubus, is revealed to be Kakashi's mother– explaining why he has so many people pining for him no matter where he goes. Kakashi not pleased by this arrangement
Sharing is caring
Tumblr media
Kakashi ends up with literally everyone.
Mariana trench, Love festival
Tumblr media
All the endings fill this prompt, as the goal of the game is to choose whose invitation to the school valentine's festival Kakashi will accept. This one illustrates it best, even if the the stands are empty because these drawings are more concept art than anything.
Either way; Rin invites Kakashi to go with her to the festival and brings Isobu, her pet eldritch being along, she wins Kakashi a bisuke plushie. They end this beautiful night with Rin musing about how the world will end.
Then there is a few prompts that would be hit along the routes, I made some scrappy quick doodles of how the mid-game CGS would look like, with varying qualities
Struck buy Cupid's arrow and matchmaker:
Tumblr media
Team seven comes to the conclusion that they need to help an unwilling Kakashi to find love this valentine's. Also the entire concept of Hanare's path is that she acts like she was hit by a cupid's arrow
Love at first bite:
Tumblr media
Kakashi and Obito reminisce about how Kakashi bit a chunk off his arm the first time they met :)
My heart is (literally) in your hands
Tumblr media
Kakashi and Rin visit the aquarium and Kakashi is plagued with off visions of her heart bleeding out as she looks at him. The hallucinations Kakashi has of Rin's death are actually very common for him, they're caused by her close proximity to Isobu
What about relationship reveal, holiday hater and love language? Well, relationship reveal is just Asuma and Kurenai- telling everyone they've been (unsurprisingly) dating this whole time and Holiday hater is actually Kakashi's character whole concept throughout the game, but it is best exemplified in my first chapter fic draft, which I will link my Ellipsus doc, as I'm not posting this on AO3, which gives everyone the added bonus of seeing my route rambling
And about love languages, I originally was going to make character profiles, which would list their love languages, didn't get around to it though :/
(because Tumblr decided to post instead of save to draft my chapter is neither finished nor edited. It's kind of fine though because this is more of a progress log than anything else, nothing is finished! That's the fun of it [not really] in the end!)

I'm really struggling here. There are so many things I want and need to be. SO many things I should study, so many career paths I need to take, so many things in life that I need to get to. By studying it all, I'm getting nothing done. How do I get myself together? I need to be able to prioritize what I'd like to study and where I want to be in life, so I'm writing this post to puke it all out and hopefully fix it with a little glitter. I'm making a list and categorizing them with Emojis for what I should put a longer-term pause on, what I should put up next, and what I should study now. Stuff I should study now: ✒️ Python for data analysis and machine learning ✒️ Using statistical models on python ✒️ JavaScript/React for web development ✒️ Azure AZ-900 exam prep Stuff I should get to soon but not now: 📜 Data structures & algorithms 📜 A new language Stuff that would be better to pause for now: 🤎GMAT, for my future MBA 🤎Blender, to create 3D images and interactive tools With things like my GMAT exam prep I can practice 30 minutes a day or 10 pages a day instead of actively making it a major focus of my day and missing out on the things that I really wanted to study right now. Thus, it may be better to turn my 150 days of GMAT prep into just 150 days of productivity ☕ I hope you'll understand and that hopefully, you guys are also coming to a position where you can truly focus on what you want to focus on in life

November DWC 2024 Day 3 - Morose/Strength
Strength, Pt. 2
Tumblr media
Returning to her tent, her clothes still damp and her mind was racing along a melodic path lifting and trilling before dropping completely into a low frequency. The moving forward conversation had notes that were beautiful together and completely clashing a moment later. She couldn’t solve anything if she remained stagnant, she had to act, before the fuzzy, little, adorable kitten mess got any worse.  But how… Flopping onto her back on her new comfortable cot, thanks to Fio she was going to be much more comfortable in camp going forward, reaching for her comm unit, lifting it up and hitting a name in her contacts. Nahi: Hey Path, are you around? Pathyn: Hey beautiful. What’s up? How was the performance? Nahi: It was really good. Could have been great, but I got in my head, added in too much instead of letting the moves breath. Pathyn: Moves breathe? Nahi: It is hard to explain…. Instead of lifting up an arm and extending through the tips of my fingers and holding it there, I curled in and went into another move. The impact of the first is beautiful, the second feels rushed and is too much for the audience. Pathyn: Not that hard to explain was it? Nahi: Asshole. Pathyn: Now, what’s up? You didn’t text for me to ask you about a performance I am sure was stunning. You naked in paint would take most people’s breath away, fuck I wish I was there. Nahi: Wish you had been. So, can you help me with something? I need some help with my family issues. Pathyn: I can’t.
Nahi: Is this because of Kyean? Pathyn: Yes. Pathyn: No. Pathyn: It is fucking complicated, Nahi. Nahi: Okay. Nahi's breath shudders, just a month ago he told her that he was her friend and that she needed to begin to learn that she didn’t have to do everything alone, now… here they were. He couldn’t help her because his cousin had a hard on for her and she dared to say no to him.
Ignoring the buzzing in her hand, she felt the anger from the FUCKING KITTEN EPISODE rising again and she wasn’t sure how to deal with it, she thought he was a friend.
The buzzing stopped and a ringing began, when was the last time she heard her comm actually ring?
“What?” she snaps
“I’m on a job, Kyean asked me to help on a job.”
“Okay,” Nahi was trying not to explode because now it would be vocally, not over text and the camp would hear it. “Just do whatever.”
Pathyn was the one taking a breath now, she knew because she could hear him. “It is his pet warlock, Nahi. There is an issue, a possible really big issue, I am here helping with that.”
The singer ran her tongue across her teeth, “So, it is Kyean, but not because of me? Will the young woman be alright?” She wasn’t completely a bitch, she doesn’t want this warlock to die because she has a horrible taste in friends.
“Yes, yes and honestly? I don’t know.” Python sighs softly, “I would help if I could Nahi. What happened?”
“They sent her a fucking kitten….” @daily-writing-challenge

So... FE Echoes act 1...
Faye died 4 times. Sorry, Faye.
Rambles under the cut. (The combat style is very addicting.)
In case I haven't mentioned it before, these are the classes I assigned to the villagers: Gray -> Mercenary Tobin -> Cavalier Faye -> Pegasus Cavalier Kliff -> Archer
The way I picked the classes was one of each, and "who gets the most stat boosts out of it."
I've got this hubris about pegasus cavaliers and their near-limitless mobility, and I forget that they don't have a ton in the way of attack and defense. Putting them in the fray leads to them getting ganged up on.
Silque died a few times as well, but it's not like I actively sent her out in the fray.
I started to get a hang of the pegasus girls. For this battle, I had them hog a supply tower while the others slowly advanced.
Tumblr media
Clair is cool. I like her majestic speech and her battle style. She's also one letter off from my OC Claire, so maybe that helps.
If there's anything I know from my mutuals, it's that the RGB trio rocks.
First impression of Python is that he exudes personality. Kind of abrasive at first, but that's some fun dialogue. As for Forsyth, I think his voice is silly in a grand way. I wish we got to talk to them a bit more before the final battle, but they're pretty great in battle. (Clive is also great in battle.)

Lukas learned the awesome art of swapping, which I used to keep Clair in a ring of safety after she did her turn and took a hit. (Sorry, Faye died to the terrors)

I got the hang of things by the final battle. Faye and Clair flew to the left door to open it. Python went through the right door and attacked the archers and soldiers while the stronger units passed through. Silque stayed in the lower left, waiting for anyone who needed to heal.
Faye finished off one of the weakened cavaliers, but then she ended up in Slayde's attack range and died. Tobin almost died, but Slayde missed. Gray dealt the finishing blow.
I learned what the turnwheel does a bit too late. By then, Clair got killed by the foe with the heavy armor, and I needed the entire turnwheel to get her back. Then Silque died instead. But by then, I saw the path to victory. The battle took 1.5 hours...

Closing remarks...
I love Gray and Tobin's banter. Like...
Tobin: I can't believe you're the same man who mocks the fact that I fight for gold. Gray: Yes, because it's gold. This is GIRLS. Don't you like girls? Tobin: I mean, I admit they're... not bad?
And after Alm's speech...
Tobin: Wow, that gave me goosebumps. Not bad, Alm. Not bad. Gray: Were you even listening to a thing he said? Your goosebump-giver just declared war on the whole damned empire! Tobin: I know, but I think it was a nice spee- WAIT, HE DID WHAT?! No, no. Come on, this isn't WAR, Gray. He's just going to kick them out. Gray: Riiiight. And then Emperor Rudolf will just send a fruit basket to apologize!
Beans told me all the characters' ages, and I was surprised they weren't a bit older. Maybe I should've guessed the villagers would be 17-18 based on the time between the prologue and now, but I though they were 20. I'm particularly surprised Kliff is the baby. ("The special hubris of a 15-year-old." Hey, doesn't that sound like Es? :P) Clair seemed like she'd be a tad older than the villagers (early 20s), and the RGB trio seemed to be late 20s. Anyway, that's just a little tangent.
Looking forward to Act 2! (Though I may take a short break to catch up with my other games.)
(Do I join the tag? Maybe later, once I'm acquainted with the tag. I can retroactively tag these if need be.)

I Wanna Be The Gamedev!
So, along with doing that one ASCII game programmed in Python, I wanna pick up an actual engine, make something tangible that's more than just a few lines on a cmd prompt that gives me a headache while trying to edit
Soooo, I'm trying to pick up Godot! I haven't heard much about it, but I wanted something other than Unity, and I heard that GDScript was pretty similar to Python, so I said fuck it, why not!
About 3 or 4 episodes into a tutorial, I decided to deviate from the path and try to go another way, my own way!
This was not a good idea, and I spent probably an hour trying to figure out how to move in a direction relative to the camera. I have been coding for probably 10 hours today qwq
This is the culmination of probably an hour of work, not including the time it took to create the object, learn the program, etc...

It's not much, but for the start? I think it's nice :3
