Workers at B.C. LifeLabs locations could go on strike as early as Sunday morning. The B.C. General Employees' Union (BCGEU) issued a 72 hour strike notice on Thursday, after months of unsuccessful negotiations with the employer over wages and benefits. If the job action goes ahead, it would begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, LifeLabs told CBC News in an email.

Bro I'm actually so tired, my period came a SINGULAR day early, and guess what? My intestines started sobbing!! Back to being in pain all day, wishing for a different body. I was doing research, and it turns out I might have a lot of malabsorption?? That explains why I can't gain weight for the life of me, and why I'm almost never growing, as well as tired af all the time. Lifelabs is on strike, but atleast the clinic near me is a walk in one! I might see if one of my parents can take me there tomorrow for my blood work, I am craving answers to my nutrient problems, I think atleast something is low, I remember almost blacking out while playing just dance recently, that was fun. (It scared me, that was sarcasm.)

Canadian residents whose personal data was compromised in a 2019 LifeLabs data breach can now apply for up to $150 in compensation from a multi-million dollar class action settlement approved in October.  The private medical diagnostics company and its subsidiaries were the target of a cyberattack on Dec. 17, 2019, that compromised patient data for around 15 million customers, mostly in British Columbia and Ontario. Hackers accessed personal information, including health numbers and test results, according to the claim. LifeLabs has denied claims of negligence brought in the class action lawsuit. The company will now pay at least $4.9 million in the negotiated settlement — and up to $9.8 million — depending on the number of claims made.

I'm home from meeting my new GP for the first time and she's really nice!!

I've gotten a referral AGAIN to the psychiatrist at the student wellness centre and hopefully it goes through this time

She's prescribing me 10mg Abilify pills bc 11.25mg (¾ of a 15mg pill) was too much and 7.5mg (½ of a 15mg pill) is too little

She's *not* prescribing me atropine bc it comes with its own side effects and she doesn't want to throw a bunch of stuff at me and then immediately hand me over to a specialist AND the drooling seems to have stopped at 7.5mg and we don't know if it will come back at 10mg, which are all FAIR REASONS

And she's given me requisitions for an EKG and a blood panel (A1C, CBC, etc.) which I will make an appointment at LifeLabs for bc I tried doing a walk-in right after seeing my GP but it was a 47-minute wait

Being sick in the era of covid is a whole different thing than being sick in the time before. It's scarier. It's worse.

I have what I'd've previously assumed was a hellish awful flu, but now I get to also contend with the constant "this is probably covid" intrusive thoughts. Even when the tests come up negative, because the tests aren't always accurate, right?

I've spent much of the day, shivering and snotting and feverish, grappling with confusion as I navigate phone trees to various health professionals trying to see if I can procure a lab test, given that I am also immunosuppressed. The nice doctor I talked to tells me that apparently you can't even really get one these days without going to the ER, and lots of pharmacies have stopped stocking paxlovid because it's expensive. Truly dystopian.

so now I'm on watch and if this fever doesn't go down, or my symptoms get worse, I have to drag my sorry ass, alone, to the ER, where whether or not it's covid I am much more likely to transmit it to other people. Because I can't just get a PCR requisition for LifeLabs or something.

I'm in a lot of pain. I'm afraid of my long covid getting worse, afraid of losing more of my mind. I'm having a real bad day.
