AITA for bitching about fics I dislike on my blog?
as a foreword, this is kind of a non-issue and no one's ever told me to stop, but I'm curious what other people think of fandom etiquette.
the fandom: a fairly small one. 2.4k fics on ao3 small. I recognize most people posting in its tumblr tag small. if I tell you the name of the source you'd almost definitely be able to find me small.
the source: pornographic, which means everyone involved is or should be an adult. it's BL with a switch MC, but the fandom overwhelmingly prefers bottom MC/top LIs (love interests), to the point where I've had people be astonishingly rude to me because my favorite character is a bottom LI and some of my friends have been outright harassed for the same. I used to not care about sex positions in the slightest, but now when I see bottom MC fanworks I can't help but remember how poorly I was treated.
the fics: wildly and inexplicably popular, even though they are, frankly, poorly written. it's eternal bottom MC turned up to 11, complete with copious amounts of OOCness in order to turn every ship into the worst ye olde yaoi gender roles dynamic you can imagine. it's things like MC, canonically a 23yo plank of a dudeguy, being written as a big titted milf in his 40s (which is made more confusing by the fact that one of the LIs is already a big titted milf). it's also things like the MC being written as disliking sex and having to be coerced into it when one of the most charming things about him is that he's a hilarious sex pest, or writing the LIs sexually harassing the MC when they really would never do that. I've likened it to replacing the characters with OCs that share the same name and my friends have agreed with me. I'm honestly convinced that the author and his readers don't actually like any of the characters if they feel the need to change everyone so thoroughly.
why I might be an asshole: it's assholish to hate on free fanworks, and I've bitched about these fics on my public tumblr blog. the fandom is small enough that there's a non-zero chance of it getting back to the author and a reasonable chance that fans of the fics have seen my bitching. I'm probably projecting the hostility I've received onto someone who's done absolutely nothing to me, and I am absolutely just straight up jealous that their fics get better stats than mine. I may also be being an asshole to myself, because being critical of other people's fics has made my hypercritical of my own.
why I don't think I'm an asshole: I think everyone has the right to be bad at things, but I also think everyone has the right to be a little hater. I don't put the fandom tag on these posts; they stay on my blog and my blog alone, and if later on I feel like I was unfairly vitriolic I'll delete the posts. I only post on tumblr because I'm certain the author in question only uses twitter, which dramatically lowers the odds of him stumbling across my posts. the fics are so popular that it's definitely possible that their fans would see my posts, but I think it's unlikely that they'd bother looking at my blog because 99% of my posts are about one of the bottom LIs. I have never and would never leave comments on the fics themselves, and I generally try to keep the bitchy posts to a minimum; it's far from a constant thing.
tl;dr - I publicly bitch about fics that (in my opinion) are poorly written and extremely OOC, under the assumption that it's unlikely the author would ever see it. AITA?
What are these acronyms?

INTRODUCTION MASTERPOST!!!!!
(ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ɪs ɴᴏ ᴀᴜᴅɪᴏ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ, ɪᴛ ᴡᴀs sᴜᴘᴘᴏsᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴀ ɢɪꜰ ʙᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰɪʟᴇ ᴡᴀs ᴛᴏᴏ ʙɪɢ ᴏᴏᴘs)
This is an askblog for @lunozapp 's Indigo Park OCs! This post contains everything you need to know about this ask blog/AU and its characters! Context, boundaries, references etc. Asks are contextualised a little differently here, so check the blog description for the tl;dr on the context.
Check out issue 1 here!
CONTEXT:
Tumblr media
This is DappleTilez24, also known as Tilez. He's a relatively small streamer in his universe's indigo park community, and is known for tirelessly completeing run after run, trying to beat his personal records (with.... varying sucess).
One day, he tries to speedrun a build of the game that he's never seen before...
...and stumbles across 2 MORE Rambleys than usual, much to the surprise - and confusion - of the Rambley we know and love!
Naturally, our hero Tilez is pretty damn confuddled... so he (mistakenly) asks his live chat for an explaination.
This is where YOU fantastic askers come in!
Tumblr media
You act as Tilez's live chat. This means you don't even have to answer his queries, just say whatever you want to this interdimentional triplet of trash pandas, just like a REAL insufferable livechat would!
...within reason, of course (jokes aside, please read the boundaries)
[updated as of 04/07/24] CHARACTER REFERENCES: (in the animation i forgot twimbly's GT badges lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHARACTER BOUNDARIES:
I want to make it entirely clear that i see the raccoon trio as brothers, especially with their very similar origins.
This is to say that I would not feel comfortable with any of them being shipped with eachother and I forbid the public sharing of that kind of content. If you see that kind of stuff around, please just mention this to the OP and block them if they refuse to respect it.
FURTHERMORE, please keep in mind that I ( @lunozapp ) am a MINOR. SO DON'T PUBLICLY POST NSFW/FETISH ART OF MY CHARACTERS, PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
However, shipping Twimbly, Ranglore, Rambley and Tilez with other characters that aren't related to them is fine by me (e.g. any of the original indigo characters x any of them, since they're not related)!
Again, please just keep it sfw.
ASK BOUNDARIES:
Pretty basic criteria, really. Just please don't spam the same ask over and over, I will guaranteed see them all unless this thing gets an explosion of attention out of nowhere lol
if i don't answer, its probably because either the question doesn't really fit the kind of story i have in mind for these characters or i just don't feel comfortable answering it. please respect that.
If you have a question for me specifically, start your ask with '[OOC]' (Out Of Character) or just ask me directly: @lunozapp
FURTHER INFO:
Asks are moreso used here as a prompt for conversation rather than the basis of an entire issue. More often than not there will be more than 1 ask in an issue, so going forward I'll make sure to tag everyone who asks without annonymity.
Also, please TRY to keep them as actual questions and not goofy 1-word sentences, the asks help me actually formulate a coherent premise for an issue
I don't OWN the concept of making ocs based off lore.mp4 and the GT thumbnail. if u see someone doing the same, try not to be all like 'OMG TWIMBLY/RANGLORE!!!! THEY ALREADY EXIST THIS IS PLAGARISM YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!!11!!11' unless it is blatant plagarism. Just use ur common sense ig
In terms of fanart/other fanworks, A MILLION THANKS IF YOU FEEL CALLED TO MAKE THAT!! The stuff i've gotten so far is genuinely so awesome, make it all you want if you feel called to do so. I'll try to reblog any fanart I find on here. If you want to go straight to asks, just click on the tag '#train trio asks'
alright, that's everything. Now what are you still doing here? Throw 'em a question! Or a compliment!! Or an insult.
or don't idrc just have fun here haha
fun fact!! putting everything together for this took a WEEK

All alone with you
Fanwork about Lincoln and my MC Remus. A lot of grammar problems(because English is not my first language) and ooc, my fault.
Title source: All Alone With You by Egoist.
"Lincoln." someone said in the room. "I am here," Lincoln asked, "Want something?" "Nothing," Lincoln's beloved said, "I just want to know you are still with me." "Alright." And then, Lincoln saw his singer smile and wave at him. Good, again, that smile. Lincoln walks to him and sits down. If someone had acted like that before today, Lincoln might have felt a little bit strange but……the people who did this act were Lincoln's singer, star, and boyfriend. So Lincoln thought everything about the man in front of him seemed…… normal and cute. Immediately after leaving the hospital, Remus checked into Lincoln's house, where he refused all contact with anyone connected to his past (except Lincoln) and just stayed in his room all day. Other than the above, everything is normal. Remus lived in Lincoln's house like a cheerful ghost, he'd scorch the pots when he was cooking, and he'd beg Lincoln to buy a game because it was on sale on his steam wishlist (even though Remus had the money to buy it). It's just that he doesn't make any music anymore, and it's like the days of being the lead singer of a band never happened. A lot of people will say "That is abnormal", but Lincoln is not. For Lincoln, that's just one …… piece in the person of Remus, as a seeing every turn of a kaleidoscope, which is endearing no matter what it looks like. Remus laughs very violently but rarely smiles now. Contrary to when he used to be in the band, Remus used to smile a lot at that time because it was unobtrusive. Remus dreaded every stare. In one of the few interviews he was in the band, he once said: “It's a good thing I'm nearsighted, otherwise I can't have any way of fooling myself that ‘nobody's looking at me’". Lincoln replays this interview again and again and then feels proud because Remus is not afraid of him. Even at that time the members of the band, including Remus himself, knew that Lincoln was Remus's fan (of the intimidating variety). "Did you ever think of calling the police when I used to see you every time? " When the first day of Remus moved into Lincoln's house, Lincoln joked. Remus turns around and looks at him like he heard some unbelievable thing. "No, never, "Remus told him, "Why do I have to? I mean……I know you put a huge attention on me but……" Remus throws the thing that he holding away. His hands gestured idly in the air, trying to find the exact answer in these mysterious gestures, but he finally gave up. "I don't know," Remus spoke frustrated, "Even though from the first time I met you the people around me have said that you are a bit strange ……I still feel you will never hurt me." "You trust me?" "I just believe my heart." Remus shrugged, “Even though a lot of the time it shouts so loud inside me because it's triggering some switch that shouldn't be triggered, it's fine to listen and see what it has to say once in a while, at least I can feel safe. ” When Remus finished, he and Lincoln stared at each other silently for a moment. "Any question?" After this moment, Remus tilted his head slightly to the left. "No." Lincoln laughed and helped Remus put his baggage.
Lincoln's thoughts returned to this room in the present. He changed the subject as if nothing had happened, "So what are we eating tonight?" "Sichuan fish soup with pickled mustard greens, Dandan noodles, and Chili oil wontons." Remus began to say the food's name without hesitation. "Can we just eat hotpot?" “No way.” Remus vetoed, “Hot pot and this type of dish are both from Sichuan or Chongqing but they are not essentially the same thing, and I have to correct you on this erroneous idea that ‘all spicy Chinese food is related to hot pot’.” “All right.”Lincoln stood up, "Want some drink?" "Jasmine milk tea 80% sweet no ice large and without boba." There were no pauses, and someone used his lung capacity well. "Maybe someday you'll try some new flavors of milk tea?" "Yeah, maybe when this world is destroyed." Remus roll his eyes. "Wanna come with me?" Lincoln pretended to extend the invitation as if nothing had happened. "No. I don't want to." Remus' handsome face scrunched up so fast. Remus has never been out of the house since moving into the Lincoln home, except to see the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist claims it's a "pathological isolation" and reminds Lincoln that he must help Remus out of this "rut," but Lincoln thinks it's okay that Remus doesn't want to leave the house. At least he'll never leave me, Lincoln thought, and I don't think Remus doesn't realize he's self-isolating himself. The man who can write lyrics that can make people crazy emotion can't be so stupid that he doesn't realize what he's doing; he just needs time, even if the length of that time is a lifetime. Lincoln stands up and leaves the room, Remus silently follows Lincoln out of the room before taking up position by the door to the room, he leans his full weight against the door frame and watches with his arms crossed over his chest as Lincoln begins to put on his shoes after picking up his car keys. "Miss me?" "No, my dear fan," Remus lied without changing his face, "I just wanna turn the drawing room's light off." Lincoln shrugged, he knew what Remus looked like when he tried to lie, but he was happy to pretend he was being lied to. He walks to the door, but Remus doesn't move. Until Lincoln opens the door and wants to close it, through the crack in the door, Lincoln sees Remus quietly walk toward the switch to turn the light off, and immediately afterward he hears Remus say aloud, "Take care on the road. " The door closed.
@pressplay-if I was going to post it anonymously but couldn't find it …… Anyway! (leaving Tumblr nervously, leaving my laptop nervously, leaving this internet nervously)

I really hate posting or acknowledging fandom drama unless it serves to support or encourage people who are feeling down about it but this is a tricky one for me to translate because I'm mad af!
Let's take a deep breath.
Tumblr media
The thing is, about fandom! When you first get here, or get to a new one, or whatever! It's weird, there's etiquette built in, there's invisible rules. But the main thing is like, we're all here because we can't be normal about our blorbo, right?
And it's okay if you project on your blorbo! It's okay if your version of them isn't completely canon-accurate! It's okay if you are isolating a single aspect of their personality/backstory to play with because it speaks to you! YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DO THESE THINGS.
It's also okay if the canon has conflicting information! It's okay if a theme went over your head and you don't consider it! It's okay if you're the only person in the fandom who notices a certain quality and you're the only one talking about it!!
There is enough room here for all of us!
The ENTIRE POINT of fandom and fanworks is to ask questions about the characters, to dissect them, to put them back together. The point of transformative fanworks is to TRANSFORM! If we weren't so deeply invested in these universes and didn't have questions and didn't want more content about all the blank spots, we would just CONSUME THE CANON LIKE A NORMAL PERSON AND MOVE ON WITH OUR GODDAMN LIVES. We wouldn't be bothering to write fic and make art and RP and decode meta! We wouldn't be making this into a hobby and talking about it all day!
It's from LOVE.
So.
I get it, it can be intimidating showing up in a new space or into a new hobby. And sometimes we can step on toes if we don't know all the invisible rules and etiquette. But what I can promise you is that you don't need to make room for people who are rude to you, who try to tell you that their way is the only way, who consistently want to insult you for asking questions, noticing themes, playing with other versions of the characters.
We are ALL HERE to be silly and dick around and have fun, and when someone is being an asshole about it, I think it looks worse for them than it does for you. One of you is minding your business and having fun and the other one is trying to tell everyone what to think lol.
Please protect yourself from bullies; don't let someone police the way you read canon, or the way you speak about your fav, or the fanworks you create. These people are not your friends, and they are not your audience. You do not need their acceptance to have fun and make things.
Fandom shouldn't be this fucking exhausting, yall. It costs zero dollars to be nice to people and let them enjoy their fucking blorbo in peace and you look like a fucking asshole when you don't shut the fuck up about it and sow discord in a shared space.
People's horrendously OOC takes do not affect you at all even a little bit not even when they're so so so so so OOC that you think you need to be Fandom Professor rising from your well to shame us! It cannot and will never hurt you, so leave them the fuck alone and let them have fun!!

hi! i had some questions for you as someone who only got into iwtv post season 1 of the show starting to air. i read from some of your other posts that you've been a fan since the 90s, and you mentioned how DM fans were disappointed post TVA. so i was wondering, what was the fandom like back then? did people mostly write about the chase/human!daniel era, or did people ever try to write fanfics that continued their story with them still together as vampires despite what anne rice decided on? i know what the trends were like on ao3 (i got obsessed with DM before season 1 even finished airing, i read the books that fast) but i was wondering if it looked different at all back then (pre-ao3). secondly, i was also wondering if most people ignored the "no sex" element of canon and included sex scenes in their fanworks, or if most of the work you saw was more at the canon level of erotica/blood drinking level? it's okay if you don't really remember, i'm just curious about fandom trends. the tidbit about the "boss" thing being fanon since the 90s despite it only being said once was very amusing to me (i noticed that myself haha)
Hello! Sorry for just getting to your question today, real-life things, and all that. 🙂
So, from what I remember from back then, (from the mid-90s to the early 2000s), at least from when fanfic was still not banned yet (😉) is that when it came to Devil's Minion, fanfic did have a mix of people writing things were Daniel was still human and people speculating on what Daniel and Armand's relationship was like after Queen of the Damned and Daniel had been turned. But I would say the Devil's Minion era -- when Daniel was still human -- was much more focused on a bit more since, at that point, there were only four books out, and not too much time had passed between book 3 and book 4. And because the Devil's Minion Era lasted 12 years in total there were at least more situations and ideas that were easier to get ideas to write about.
When it came to post-Daniel being turned, before The Vampire Armand came out, there just wasn't much of anything to go on. So it really was just speculation galore on that front, but there wasn't all that much to solidly speculate on.
At least until Armand seemingly killed himself at the end of Memnoch the Devil. Then I remember a lot of angsty Daniel-focus stories during that time after that happened. Or, angry fix-it fic because there was a very vocal group who kept arguing that Armand killing himself over what he did was just wildly OOC in the first place.
As to the "no sex" thing, there were some who very strictly followed it and those who, IIRC, would put a disclaimer at the start of stories stating that the characters would have physical sex in the story. Stories that had physical sex scenes between characters still tended to have the character still do blood drinking too, however.
In remembering things from back then, however, I'd say more people leaned into the "no sex" thing more than they did the characters having physical sex . . . even after The Vampire Armand book came out. Because even with the things that happened of a sexual nature in that book, there was a hot debate about if what went on between Armand and Marius, and Armand/Marius/Bianca really counted as sex or not. And most people fell on the "it wasn't sex" side of things about all of that.
In fact, I remember a long email chain post in my mailing list after that book came out arguing about this and someone even adding it to the FAQ for the mailing list that no, it did NOT count as sex because as a vampire, Marius wouldn't have/didn't get aroused or use his genitalia during the moment between himself and Armand in the bath; and then again with Bianca neither Armand nor Marius could have gotten aroused in that way because they were vampires, despite Bianca getting pleasure during that encounter because she was still human at the time; so it didn't matter that Marius used his finger on her and whatever, vampires still couldn't have sex.
No there were not a lot of human AU stories back then, not even to get around the "no sex" thing wrt canon back then either. People either stuck to the blood-drinking as erotic or, again, put disclaimers at the start to say the characters were having physical sex. That was it.

I'm finding it difficult to reconcile the fact that what I've always wanted and envisioned for Nikolai and his relationship with Fyodor based on fanworks and the very very little canon information we've had to go off of so far, will very likely be very different from what we actually get.
While I understand the appeal of Fyodor taking over Nikolai's body via his blood ability, and the inherent, romantic, ironic tragedy of that — for Nikolai, the person who yearned for freedom, to meet an end by having his soul eternally trapped in the body of the person he loved the most, while Fyodor lives on in his body, never truly knowing how much he was adored by him — I would just hate the idea of that happening now? It just feels far, far too soon for Nikolai to be dead, for his character to no longer have a role or a purpose; his mind and behavior is so utterly fascinating in all its bizarre contradictions, there's so much more to explore and discover with him, he's one of BSD's most complex characters, or at least he's set up to be, and I really hope Asagiri wouldn't throw him away this soon without doing anything more with him.
I never really thought that Nikolai would be the one to end Fyodor for good, way down the line (that can only ever be Dazai's job, to me, since he's his foil), but I always imagined he'd at least have some kind of role in attempting to kill him, since that's his ultimate wish. I imagined that it would be ugly, frenzied, unhinged, desperate, Nikolai finally being forced to acknowledge the horrible truth that's always been buried within his subconscious but he's never wanted to accept: that going against all human reason and killing someone he cares so deeply for will not, in fact, simply make those feelings go away, and will instead make them unable to ignore in his despair. The realization that he'll always be chained to human emotions, to love, no matter how much he thinks he can be free of them. And then, the ensuing breakdown from that. Yes, it's extremely fanficky lmao, but that kind of drama makes sense to me for him and them. It's interesting.
There was also the angst angle of Fyodor being immortal, and Nikolai's agenda perhaps stemming from wanting to save him from that, and being able to finally free him from it in the same way he himself wants to be freed. Killing being the ultimate expression of love, not too dissimilar to Mushitarou killing Yokomizo, both putting on an act of being hateful/vengeful/hostile towards the other in order to cope with the fact that deep down they can't bear the thought of them being gone.
But then we got Fyodor's "death" here, and Nikolai's reaction to it was so unbelievably underwhelming and calm that it made me question everything I thought I knew about Asagiri's writing skills him, and what the story is going for with him. And combined with this revelation now that Fyodor is (unsurprisingly!) immortal, but specifically in the way that he can be killed but supposedly resurrects endlessly (which I really like in of itself, don't get me wrong)... it makes me question what exactly Nikolai knows, or will know, and it somewhat destroys the potential angst we could get with them in the end, or at least drastically changes it.
If Nikolai already knows Fyodor can't be killed, that means we'll never get a moment where he tries to kill him and then has to face the fact that he did the deed and it didn't make him feel freed, and he instantly regrets it. It also means we'd never get a moment where he tries to kill him and then discovers he can't truly die, and the ensuing insanity that would occur from that. It also makes me even question the legitimacy of his reaction to Fyodor's "death" here... was it so damn apathetic and lukewarm because he already knows it wasn't permanent? I mean, I'd like an explanation for it feeling so ooc, it would make me feel better about that, but I can't deny that it would be disappointing to have yet another part of this arc that was just an act and not genuine feelings....
Now, that isn't to say that it's impossible to do anything interesting with Nikolai already knowing the truth. He could be wishing to try to attain free will through the illogical pursuit of an impossible task: in this case, killing Fyodor. There's a beautiful, tragic paradox in him wishing to attempt something to gain his freedom that he and we know is impossible, especially if subconsciously he takes solace in the fact that he'd be able to kill Fyodor without actually losing him for good. If Nikolai doesn't already know, assuming he's not dead he's likely going to find out the truth soon when he next sees Fyodor alive and kicking — I can't imagine a way he wouldn't find out. In that case, we wouldn't get the aforementioned scenario where he tries to kill him and discovers it's futile, which is the most juicy to me I won't lie, but I am still fascinated by the idea of how Nikolai will respond just seeing him suddenly alive again and having to process this after having just mourned him. It's interesting to imagine how he might respond to and treat Fyodor after at last knowing how it truly felt to lose him, and realizing how much he didn't want that, and then suddenly having him back. It might cause him to finally understand that his desire for freedom is unobtainable, and cause him to spiral, and fundamentally change their relationship going forward. An eventual tragic end for him such as Fyodor taking over his body would not feel out of place to me in that case, perhaps, but still not until we've had more time to see Nikolai reflect and see his possible change in perspectives.
I don't know, I'm just rambling at this point lmao. I know very well that so much of my expectations and desires for Nikolai and Fyolai are built up from fan content over the years just because there's been nothing else to work with, and that it's unfair to judge what Asagiri decides to do with him/them based on preconceived notions. Whatever he does could still be interesting in the end, even if it's not what I initially wanted or expected, and being open to being surprised is always a good thing. At the end of the day we still know barely anything about Nikolai, so it's not completely fair for me to judge something as ooc for a character we still know so little about.
But... it's because we know so little about him and have gotten so little of him, that at the very least, I'm gonna be really upset if he does die here from being possessed by Fyodor like people are worrying about. I really don't think he will, because I'm pretty confident the helicopter pilot is the one Fyodor swapped with/resurrected in the body of as per soup's theory, and again I'm not saying it wouldn't be fitting eventually... but I really don't want it to happen now. :/ I just think Nikolai still has so much potential as a character and so much more we need to see of him before his likely inevitable and tragic demise (however it happens), so whatever Asagiri decides to do with him I just really, really hope we don't lose him so prematurely; it would honestly be such a tremendous waste imo.

this is purely out of curiosity and i don't want to send hate your way, but do you ship mob and reigen? and if so, why?
I do, yeah. An ex-friend of mine asked me the exact same question (just more... harshly I think and with what I assumed was prejudice) before they decided to part our ways and I could never properly answer them because I was so stressed by the situation, it was hard to gather my thoughts. So I'll do my best to explain here, hopefully to make myself understood better.
Sorry if this gets lenghty >_< I'll just put a readmore right here.
I think the biggest reason for why I like them is their canon relationship that has been explored in the series already quite thoroughly - that they have changed eachother, helped eachother grow and one wouldn't be the person they are without the other. I think most of us understand the depth of it. Reigen is Mob's teacher and friend, someone like an older brother. There surely is a strong bond between them and they've seen each other at their best and worst and still acknowledged and accepted eachother's flaws. They trust eachother, they would give their life for eachother even (at least Reigen would, he almost did in the finale after all). And I do think that they love eachother but in a way that isn't actually romantic in canon. I'm perfectly capable of realizing that and I value it a lot both in the series and in fanworks (one of my fav works of fanfiction is about exactly that).
It was my curiosity that made me search up a ship fic of them, I was just confused why people ship them in the first place and whether it can be good and I found myself enjoying it a lot (to my surprise). It was set into the future, and dealt with some serious topics like loss and acceptance, it was kind of bittersweet. Then I felt that maybe it was just slightly ooc because all of the serirei fics I was busy reading depicted Reigen slightly different. Nontheless, I had the other ship on my mind then so I never really dived into Mob/Reigen, but it changed my perspective on them a lot.
And at some point into all this I realized, why not? Why can't I haz 2 cookies? (god im sorry that was terrible sfjgsdkj). What I mean is that the buildup canon offers can be taken further - more of their relationship can be explored in terms of new tropes, sometimes romantic too.
On a personal note I'll just add that I'm rather picky about them and tend to stick to fluff, hurt/comfort and slow slow burns. And I like them most post-canon, a few years into the future. It turns out that it all depends on how they're portrayed for me to like them anyways. I talked on here recently about a work that really had it all and portrayed their relationship in a very satisfying and mature way, with all the complicated feelings, it felt very realistic, especially on Reigen's side. So if anyone wants, here's a rec from me again -> in my dreams (I seem to be more honest) on ao3, just because I think it has all that I like about the ship.
I think that this is the whole point of fanworks - to kind of look further and have fun with it, to see "what if?". Even if it's something sort of.. taboo I guess? Because you get to take it apart in a fictional dimension (if that makes sense). And I completely understand if this is something that can ick some people out or that someone doesn't want to ruin their perception of the characters' relationship. That's totally fine by me and I'm not going to force anyone into liking the ship of course. And there are definitely tropes and tags I really don't want to look into - not everything is for me either.
And I think this goes without saying but I'll add it here anyways: what I like to see in fiction doesn't mean I would like or encourage anyone to do the same thing in real life! It's just interesting to explore from a safe distance where no one can get hurt.

I have a question about fandoms, fics, canon and characterization. If fanworks in general are transformative work, then fanon and characterization shouldn't matter, right? For example, let's take modern AUs. In this sense, the characters will be adapted to the setting and it makes sense that interpretations would differ. On that same wavelength, isn't characterization negligible alongside the concept of OOC? If you don't like something about canon, you can just change that in an AU and I'm assuming this applies to characters as well. I guess I'm wondering whether canon or the original text is even important .
Okay so let me ask you a very important question before I answer this with my own opinion:
When you are going into the fanfiction of a particular work, why is it that you’re going in there? Is it cause it’s a fantastic setting and you want more works in the world? Is it cause it had a plot with promise but was poorly handled and you want to see if people were able to do it better?
Or is it that you enjoyed the characters so much you want to see more of them?
Because depending on which one your answer is makes the question of if canon matters much more relevant. I adore Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, so I want to read stories about Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, not someone’s original characters that might share a name and a couple superficial personality traits. I have backbuttoned out of so many of those fics and I can’t enjoy them.
I have seen arguments that trend towards “canon isn’t that important for my story, cause that’s not what I want to write about, and I find that most of those writers tend to work in… very subpar works. MCU for example. If you have a cookie cutter premise with cookie cutter characters, then perhaps it doesn’t matter that much to those writers, because they’re not in it for the love of the work in the same way. They were disappointed by what the work did, so they set out to create something else, something more interesting.
I personally disagree in the sense that eventually you do just stumble into original work with the vague skin of someone else’s names and faces. I don’t go into fanfiction for a fandom unless I adore it and want more. For me, I want to see respect and commitment to the original author’s work; modern aus are fine, but how do you maintain the integrity of those characters? Wei Wuxian is a canonical genius and inventor, so do you let him flourish in a modern world? Does it fit any of the elements of his character that are not so tightly wedded to the society and setting that he’s in? We know he’s a romantic who never kissed anyone besides Lan Wangji, so a modern au where he’s had a long string of lovers is going to annoy me a lot more than a modern au where he’s been happily going through life and then fell head over heels for the cool new guy in his lab because one of them is a lot more reminiscent of the Wei Wuxian in canon.
It matters because if you go into a fandom because you liked the characters, it’s not so fun to read about generic fanon trope #620. It matters because for fanfiction, ninety-nine times out of a hundred, the defining interesting part of the work is the characters.
It matters because it shows how much respect you have for the work if you are able to maintain what keeps the characters functioning as recognizable versions of themselves, something that still pays homage to the source in which they came from. Otherwise you’re not writing fanfiction, you’re writing original fiction with a funky skin over it.
Thank you, and to sum up, yes ooc and fanon are things I would call problems in fandom, because the thing that should matter most is the wellspring from which your stories come from.

I'm guessing you're still waiting for the origin story to drop if Illari meets the criteria for your fanon?
Honestly I'm on the fence about even continuing my fanon at this point because I don't know if the fandom is going to become like... 50 times more hostile for Gency shippers now. I know there are a bunch of shippers that are like "Joke's on you, Blizzard! I'm going to write even more Gency now!" and I've written plenty of spite-fueled fics in my day, but there's also been this question at the back of my head like, "Okay but I'm letting this fanfic distract me from writing original fiction" for a while now.
I'm just kind of sitting here like, "How worth it is it to keep writing this? I know I've had my continuity be pretty distinct from Overwatch's story at multiple points for years now, but also a point I make again and again with fanworks is that I want to write stuff inspired by its source material, stuff that feels like its source material, not just take off and write what might as well be original fiction because it's so divorced from its source material at this point. Maybe I could say, 'No... You're OOC!' to Blizzard's writing, but hell, it's pretty clear at this point that Blizzard is going to make the story whatever they think it needs to be to keep the game alive and... I don't have to do that. I can write my own stories. Hell, I've built up an audience with this community, and a lot of that audience has actually moved on from Overwatch. My over-and-above most popular piece of writing I did this year wasn't Overwatch, but a re-telling of Cinderella! That I wrote while fucking drunk!! Does this... Does this mean I'm free?"

Hello, and welcome to The House. Here are some rules that must be followed while inside The House (and outside, should You leave).
Character References
IC posts in chrono (must be opened in a browser and not the Tumblr App)
Point form notes
Hint tag
PC = Player/Playable Character
No sexual NSFW. Shipping or suggestive is fine, the characters are all legal adults 18 or over, but NSFW will not be featured here.
.
Blood/gore/violence/death will be present. All content will be tagged with "///" at the end (ex. blood///) to prevent the post from showing up in searches, while also being easy to block.
.
Potential heavy themes, like self harm, abuse, child abuse, etc, could be shown or implied. The Audience is allowed to ask almost anything of the PC, so please tread carefully in The House. All of this content will still be tagged appropriately.
.
The House welcomes audiences from all over the universe, it does not matter if wolves, electric rats, ghosts, or anything else decides to interact with The House, they will be welcomed, even if not seen.
.
Currently, there is no linear progression here. You are free to explore and ask about anything, though you could stumble into the game's plot should you find the right things or discover the clues... I won't be making posts to fill in gaps in the foreseeable future, so info gathering is up to you.
.
This is a [Command] focused space, the PC will follow everything asked of him. Please do not be shy. [Ask] is still encouraged, however, and might be the only way to get information/clarification sometimes.
.
The Audience is capable of editing and modifying The House and reality.
.
Highlighted text with different colours can either point at something important, or how a character feels about the highlighted subject in question, or both.
.
Highlighted text beginning with an arrow belongs to no one in particular and is more about if something is important. This doesn't mean the something always needs to be followed up on as it can refer simply to characters or elements of The House's Game, as well.
.
Lost and uncertain what to send? Try treating the visuals like a video game! Interact with what you see, but you can always be creative, also.

Tumblr media
You may reply to this post with theories or things you've noticed if you'd like to be open to a discussion. It will not be a substitute for ooc asks, though, as I won't answer many questions here. It's for community use.
---------
Fanworks and NPC Disclaimer:
Disclaimer regarding NPCs created by The Audience:
NPCs created by The Audience do not belong to one particular member even if said member was the one to create the design using the in-game mechanics/sending commands, set the personality, name, etc. The NPCs created by The Audience are free for The Audience as a whole to use, roleplay with, and command as they wish. If you create an existing OC of yours with the tools provided by this blog, you must understand that the above applies and your OC as they exist on the blog will not belong to you. Likewise, their likeness, name, personality, etc, as they exist on this blog could be used outside of your and my control (see below).
---------
Regarding fan works:
As of writing this (Jan 7th, 2024) I don't believe there is nearly enough info about Tobai and/or his game to properly create a fanfiction/AU/AU Askblogs made by other users.
Just to be clear, in the future once important characters and in-game mechanics are well established then these types of fan works are free game. All I will ask is that all problematic content is not glorified/fetishised/normalised. You will be free to use the characters, setting, mechanics, and story as you wish for fanworks with proper credit, and do not claim characters as your own if they are AU designs of my own characters.
You are free to workshop AUs and OCs as you wish for now, but making a dedicated and potentially ongoing fanwork (askblog, fanfiction, comic, or similar projects) outside RP is discouraged.
Remember that headcannons and theories are different from AUs, and the former two are free reign from the get-go.
(TL;DR you can tell me about your AUs and ideas, roleplay with fan OCs, submit/post art of AU ideas, but please don't go making series-based content about it yet..!)

what if major player and duck shuffler just stopped talking, what would happen to HR? Would it just be that one divorce meme of what divorce does to kids
DIVORCE LEADS CHILDREN TO THE WORST PLACES... (LITERALLY NOT EVEN EXISTING)
well, there's no high roller "canon" since he literally isn't supposed to be canon, but in-game he IS a fusion Canon Non-Canonically of dave and buck, so without them she genuinely can't exist so it's more like. divorce makes the child disappear except the child is a grown overpowered piano duck robot. THATS THE ANSWER! hr fuckin deaded :sob:
though if you care about my 'guzmas personal headcanons story lore for ocs and other shit' high roller than theyre a seperate entity from dave and buck and have existed and continue to exist without buck and daves presence so i dont have to rely on those two while writing (though i do admit it leads to interesting stories and ideas but its not my goal so i changed it)
so if those two stopped talking as a friend (not kid or anything) of them both, my hr would be a bit upset probably by it but its not his deal so like nothing changes hr keeps existing
but like jshjshjs as hr is right now they cant exist without the two*
*(but has some history on its site/profile on cogs inc?? like the comment on someone meeting him before. did dave and buck in this theoretical hr is canon and exists only as a fusion universe fuse just to fuck around as high roller in places? to have a show? how often do they meet up for this shit since hr seems to have scheduled shit and be famous. shit hard to manage if you have your own life outside of being a fusion.. yeaug not meant to be taken seriously on the page most likely. its not meant to be looked into it's supposed to be an ohh mystery haha funny joke it's april fools. with hr as a character u gotta cherry pick or accept there's worlds craziest shit goin on with what dave and buck do to keep hr around while maintaining their own shit. well they're both wacky zany enough it wouldn't be that ooc for them. i just know they're girly giggling about this shit brough 😭 i mean they do fuse in the first place so it is shit they would do bc They Do Do It. but still would make an interesting story but lorgd would it not work with how ttcc currently is probably lool. gotta love the lore statis we are currently in but i'm not going into that Now. i do appreciate the bits and pieces left there to make place for fanwork however. which i do no read nor write! i just Yap abt it)
(gets asked joke question) (answers seriously and in a lenghty manner) apologies, i am autistic. you followed the high roller autism guy

Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?
No. I would only unfollow someone if they're being extremely unreasonable, and their asshole behaviour is escalating.
Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
*looks over at Sonamy*
I was always indifferent to it, but the sheer spectacle made over it has made me beyond sick of it. In fanworks, Sonic is often made OoC for the sake of the ship, or his side of the matter in general is an afterthought at best, because it's said that Amy deserves his love because "she's earned it". They'll waste valuable question time on the Twitter Takeovers over Sonamy stuff. If Sonic and Amy are onscreen together for even a moment, no matter what it is they're actually doing, everyone will hail it as proof of Sonamy. And of course, they'll go crazy when they actually do tease it, using it to shut everyone else up because "Sonamy is Canon, deal with it", even if that teasing is incredibly minor and fated to never go anywhere.
It's a weird feeling looking at all the Sonamy VS Sonally wars over the decades, and not giving a solitary fuck about either of them. And yes, this was already the case long before a certain cardinal sin was initiated on my end. *coughs over horse noises in the background*
Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
Can't think of any.
Unpopular opinion about XXX character?
Sonic: I'm sick of people going one extreme or the other with him. He's not Mr. Principles, nor is he completely selfish to the point of only helping others for his own enjoyment. And I especially dislike when fans misinterpret his role in Black Knight and use it to claim that he's a full on anti-hero. No, he's a legit hero and good person who just so happens to enjoy what he does rather than adopting the usual superhero mantra, and has to make the occasional tough decision for the good of the long run for everyone. What's hard to get about that?
Tails: "I'm wildly inconsistent" does not count as fixing him. Neither does repeating the exact thing that Forces!Tails got slack for to an even more inexcusable extent.
Knuckles: The idea that he tries to see the good in people despite his standoffish nature is fascinating to me, and it's a shame that it's only been brought up for the sake of making him look stupid when he falls for another one of Eggman's tricks. It'd be nice if this got delved into more, in a way where it doesn't screw him over for once… Just don't turn him into Principles the Echidna.
Amy: Like @colony-drop-program, I recognize the… importance(?) of Amy's crush on Sonic, but I find all her other traits infinitely more intriguing.
I also wish people would remember Tails was the one who actually blasted his way through Prison Island. It's become common for fans to give Amy all the credit for that one.
Bean and Bark: Not that I'm super invested in them or anything, but I suppose it'd be nice if they got more opportunities to be the good guys they were intended to be rather than always being pigeonholed with Fang as the Hooligans thanks to Archie. Fang strikes me as a loner type anyway.
Shadow: I don't think I'll ever be on-board with him officially joining G.U.N. I'm fine with him forgiving them, and maybe having a connection of some sort with them afterward, but being a full-on agent himself? I dunno man. After his long life as Gerald and Black Doom's tool, I'd rather he carve out a future where he can be truly free, without needing to answer to any superior.
Rouge: She's not a villain. She's not a villain. She's not a villain. She's. Not. A. Villain.
The entire point of her role in SA2 is that, oh shit, she was only pretending to be on the bad guys' side, and ever since SA2, she's been a loyal ally to Shadow and helped out the other heroes with little hesitance on multiple occasions. She may be a jewel thief, she may have her rivalry with Knuckles, but she's proven time and time again that she's a far better person than most people and comic writers give her credit for.
Cream: I've seen some Amy fans hate on her for supposedly stealing some of Amy's traits, but that's a disservice to her. You can have more than one character in a franchise with similar traits, since they can be explored from different angles. Compare this to a character like Eggman Nega, who really is nothing more than a leech who requires the real Eggman to be split in half in order to seem more impressive.
Silver: Of the many reasons why I'm not interested in him, one is that his schtick gets old very quickly. There's always something to turn his future into yet another Bad Future, and after a while it becomes comical how often his efforts to avert one catastrophe and make a Good Future get revoked by the following catastrophe. Combine that with how he has actual friends in the present, and he might as well just stay in the present full-time and kill two birds with one stone… but then fans would complain about him losing something special to him. Cue frustration.
Also, fans can insist all they want that Silver trusting Mephiles was due to sheer desperation, but until they release the Snyder Cut of '06 where this is actually shown, it's nothing more than a headcanon. You can explain writing fumbles with headcanons, but you can't defend them with headcanons.
Elise: She's not a bad character. Underdeveloped, yes, but the hate she receives is largely exaggerated.
Marine: Her accent annoys me far less than Bunnie's. *mic drop*
Eggman: This notion that he needs to be softened up in order to be fleshed out is ironically a shallow one. He was fine the way he was. There's more than one way to expand on a villain.
Also, he shouldn't be underestimated just because he's a human instead of a god, a demon, an alien, etc. Bowser is an overgrown turtle who can breathe fire when all is said and done, and he still came close to conquering the universe on two occasions. If Bowser can do great things, so can Eggman.
Metal Sonic: It's possible to explore his identity crisis without making him turn traitor. If anything, him staying devoted to the guy who is the real Sonic's arch-nemesis adds an extra compelling layer to his insanity.
Lyric: I actually like his design? Yeah, he's still a crap villain and another one to throw onto the Fucks Eggman Over pile, but his design is at least more interesting than Mephiles the Druggie and Dark "Waiter, There's An Eyeball In My Taco" Gaia.
Infinite: Even if he was meant to be played completely seriously, and the idea of him being parodic to at least some degree isn't actually true, he's still a better maybe-parody of tryhard villains than either Scourge or Surge.
Sage: While Eggman using her for his own ends is preferable to him genuinely caring for her, the mere idea and circumstances of her character is something I'm very opposed to. I just don't like anything that could even vaguely be fitted into the role of Eggman's Bowser Jr, because no matter how it's presented in canon, fans will reduce Eggman to little more than Sage's father regardless. And I'm forced to see a shitton of "wholesome" family bonding regardless.
It doesn't help that beyond her relationship with Eggman, she doesn't have a whole lot of character anyway. The Heavies had more character in Mania, and they had no dialogue whatsoever. Black Doom arguably had more character, because at least with him, I can remember that he doesn't know what lightning is.
The Egg Bosses: They don't work. There is no reason why Eggman would forgo his robots in favor of anthros who, despite his ways of keeping them under his control, still talk back at him, something that the doctor has consistently been known to hate. Eggman having one organic right-hand as the Lefou to his Gaston is fine (like Starline or Agent Stone), but anything more than that just feels wrong IMO.
Tangle: Out of all the IDW-exclusive characters bar pre-Flynned Starline, Tangle is the one I'd be willing to give a chance if she were in something where her characterization wasn't exaggerated to the point of having room temperature IQ. I like the basic concept going on with Tangle, with her being well-intentioned but just a tad overeager for her own good, so I feel kinda sorry for how hard she got flanderized. Compare that to many other characters exclusive to this comic, who I instead wish would just fuck off and never return.
Starline: YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE. IT WAS SAID YOU'D SIMP FOR THE DOCTOR, NOT USURP HIM. CAST ASIDE THIS TIRED CLICHE, NOT FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER. *cries like Ewan McGregor*
Surge: If a character has been shoved in my face relentlessly as the central focus of a character study for over a year, yet I feel as though I know nothing about who they really are by the time it's concluded, I'm gonna say that character might not be very good.
Mario: I cheered when he appeared at the end of the second movie, but why Chris Pratt?

heyy meadows! as someone who's been super duper inspired by your excellent writing and is looking at trying her hand at fanfics: is a character going out of character from their personality in the medium the fanfic is derived from all that bad? i've seen so many fanfics where the authors go 'sorry, this might be ooc', but isn't that alright? the fanfiction author is the one breathing more life into these characters and bringing them into different situations, so shouldn't the character's actions straying from the og medium be ok? this is because i'm seeing a lot of posts recently saying stuff about how the character's actions in a fanfic should closely follow their canon behaviour? i don't think i'm being very coherent aaaa ;-; but essentially, how much ooc is too much? thank you sooooo much ;)
so first of all, there's always one person (or more) out there who is going to be a fan of the ooc way someone writes a character. and that is fine!!! that's fun!!! i don't think people should apologize for writing ooc, it's like, whatever, i'll judge it as a reader, but i'm not going to flame anyone for it. some depictions i find ooc others don't, and vice versa.
to address your question more directly -- arguably, a lot of my fics can be categorized as ooc if we're going to adhere that strictly to canon. but fanworks is just for us to have fun. even if i don't think a high school au is interesting at all, that's me, others will enjoy it, thrill in it. i also think if you build up circumstances enough you can make the reader see why the character would act different in different situations, even ones far away from canon. to me, i'm willing to go on the journey if it begins in something i can recognize from canon, not that it has to be a scene or setting directly lifted from it, just a mood or thought that ties back to what i've seen there. it's why the ruanliu fic begins with jingliu losing her mind and jing yuan having to defeat her: it grounds her in what we know from her in canon. from that point to now it's been a journey but i've slowly added and peeled to get there. taking the latest scenes out of context would very quickly make them seem intensely ooc instead of, idk, connected.
basically. you're fine. i think ooc isn't a hard and fast rule and it shifts from who is reading what they can stomach. write with faith in yourself and believe in the story you're wanting to tell before bending it to a reader's gaze. i see a lot of posts on tiktok that "cannibalism as a metaphor for love is OVER AND RUINED" and "ugh sometimes a pomegranate is just that!!!" etc. i shrugged and went on with writing what i wanted. it's fine to disagree and do your thing because someone out there will go so coco for it they will love it beyond your wildest dreams.

ABOUT
Tumblr media
Hello, and welcome to Squidbiology!
This blog is run by a team of scientists and friends who's goal is to provide free, easy to understand access to information regarding other sapient species! Many schools don't offer biology and history courses on other species, which can create a gap between us... one that we aim to bridge!
Though the title of the blog is squidbiology, we welcome questions on any and all sapient species. If we don't know the answer, we'll find someone who will.
Now, let's introduce you to the team! Mod Bloom Sandworm | 24 | Xe/Xir
Hi besties!!! my name's Maya, and I'm an anthropologist! Though my original focus was on worms, I've recently taken a turn towards researching Inkfish of all types, as it's just fascinating stuff. I also hope to be able to educate inkfish on each other's history to hopefully help settle some of the recent animosity! But don't worry, I've dipped my whiskers into study of any species I can find courses on, so don't be afraid to ask :P
Mod Olive Leopard shark || 23 || They/she
Heyo, my name's Maeve or Olive, and I'm an Inkfish biologist! My interest started with Inklings, but octolings are inherently a close runner up, as you can't have one without the other! Their natural evolutionary history is absolutely fascinating to me, and I can't believe it's fallen out of common knowledge.
Mod Glaze Octoling | 28 | He/she/it
Greetings. My names are Aqueduct and Celadon (you can use either), and I'm an architect, with a particular fascination for architectural history and city planning. I love looking into how different species design their buildings and cities, and how to make structures and plans that accommodate a wide variety of species.
Mod Beetle Inkling | 26 | He/they
Hi guys! My name's Connor, and I'm a linguist, though I'm also studying general sociology and biology of non-inkfish as a minor. I love learning about how different species developed language, especially based on their evolutionary history and biology! I also find it fascinating how different species can communicate back and forth even if physically incapable of speaking each other's languages... it's crazy stuff.

FAQ
So... what is this blog?
This is a Splatoon based askblog that takes place during the setting of Splatoon 3, and follows my headcanons of splatoon biology! It’s is designed so you can send in questions, which will be answered ‘in character’ by one of the members of the team that "runs" this blog. If you’re familiar with Professor Peach, it’s something sort of like that. Basically, you’re allowed to send in questions that are responded to by either , as if you were a character in the setting. You’re also welcome to send in ‘ooc’ questions as well though! I also just reblog a bunch of art and posts revolving around splatoon, as well as some memes and such. This blog is intended to be 16+ because it might contain some upsetting or potentially NSFW content, but all in a biological format (Discussions of racism and wars, art of meat/dissections, discussion of breeding behavior and anatomy, etc). Everything will be tagged generously. There won’t be any condoning of mentioned behavior, and no explicit porn or heavily NSFW images without ample tagging and warnings. If you need anything tagged that I didn’t, please let me know.
So is this a roleplay blog?
Er... not exactly. It’s more of an in-character ask blog. But if you have a similar blog, I wouldn’t be opposed to interacting.
Am I allowed to use these headcanons?
Yes, go ahead! I would be thrilled to see anyone using any of these, or even something based off of these. You’re allowed to mix and match and change anything you want for your own personal use. You’re free to make OCs or characters based on any of this stuff too! Go crazy go stupid!
Am I allowed to do fanart / fanworks of _____?
Yes!!!! You’re 100% welcome to draw (or write about, or.. whatever) any of the characters featured here, your own takes on anything or any biology, or just. Anything from or inspired by this blog! I would love to see it! If you do, please DM it to me- I don’t check my email often, and don’t see @’s! I don’t mind at all!
Who’s the mod?
Hello! My name is Rhi / Toad, and I’m the mod here behind Squidbiology! My pronouns are they/them, please. I’m 22, neurodivergent, nonbinary, and have a degree in Zoo Animal Technology, and am employed at an invertebrate zoo!
I run this blog because I think speculative biology is neat, and I love to worldbuild, especially when it comes to biology! You might recognize some of my art and ideas from my other blogs, listed below.
Main || @toadsong Splatoon Sideblog || @lesbian-octoling Art Sideblog || @bees-draws
If you have any questions for me, feel free to send in an ask! Please specify that it’s either directly to me or OOC however, so I know not to answer in character!
Where’s Callie/Marina/Agent 3/etc?
Unfortunately, the characters running this blog are a bunch of random college students. They're not affiliated with any of the canon characters, except maybe some of the shopkeepers in passing.
Tumblr media
RULES
Do not interact with this blog if you’re a bigot. This means do not interact if you’re LGBT+phobic of any kind, antisemetic, a nazi, anti-blm, pro-cop/’blue lives matter’, racist, ‘pro-ship’/pedo/MAP, etc. This includes transphobia, biphobia, and panphobia. If you’re nasty you know who you are. Get outta here!
On that note- despite the warning above, this blog will not particpiate in any political discussion or drama. I simply do not want nasty people interacting with this blog. If you want to discuss anything, at the very least, go to my main/sideblogs. The exception of this is if I reblog something from a nasty person/source- I try to do a brief check of who I reblog from, but sometimes I’m tired or lazy. If you notice content come from a questionable blog, let me know, and I’ll remove it!
Please try not to send in overly explicit or horny questions. Though this blog may discuss mature themes, such as discussions of breeding behavior and anatomy, it’s not going to be horny in nature.

youve read scum villain right. question if mike was going to transmigrate as anyone but lbh who would you have him transmigrate as. totally normal question for totally normal purposes i totally dont have a crackship to write for this years fanworks day
Oh this is a good one because he has zero canon fighting ability, which would actually be super hilarious.
Which like. Anyway. I'm left with two main options: Shen Qingqiu or Liu Qingge.
I could see him as a sqq type, especially if we consider Shen Yuan? Like with the whole rich kid with a younger sister he loves who's super passionately rage-hating a novel...that's peak Mike behavior. It's giving "Byers in Cali depression era" with him being a smart, shut-in pretty boy. I could totally see him choking on food and dying in his basement. I would also laugh so hard at him being shipped w/ Luo Binghe oh my god. Mike would flip alkdjflsdkjf if we think he's flustered about Will rn can you imagine him up against lbh???? God.
But also I can see him as the lqg type. He's...ah...passionate and stubborn always jumping into fights. He's really dedicated to Will in ST, and I could see him being the "so dedicated to the protag that he transmigrates into the guy who's really fucking dedicated to the protag" type. This becomes even funnier if Mike, being queer, is attached romantically when canon lqg isn't. I just think Mike getting OOC warnings for thirsting over sqq would be really fucking hilarious.
Anyway, whatever you choose...if theoretically you write this fic...I need to read it.
